i am upsetting myself at ungodly hours by imagining how the scene in apple and raven's dorm room must've looked like after raven refused to sign.

like imagine apple sobbing the night away and raven tries to comfort her only to be rebuffed and she spends the entire night awake and staring at the ceiling while the guilt eats away at her as she hears apple's quiet sobs.

and apple's there feeling so hurt and angry and alone, and in that moment she probably wants nothing more than a friend, a comforting presence, but she can't even look her bsf in the eye because she's just so upset about what's just happened.

idk there's something about the two of them being so steeped in distress and sadness because raven can't force apple to understand her and apple can't comprehend the reasons for raven's decisions.

and the two of them love each other SO MUCH, but right then they're just stuck in that suffocating dorm room with only each other for company, wondering what they're going to do next.

Apologies for the delay, mate - I wanted to think a bit longer about how violently to reply to this one, only for it to get lost temporarily in my drafts!

One of my least favourite aspects of Terror fanon is something that's quite broad and common to many fandoms, and that's the rampant flanderisation of characters and relationships, and the overemphasis on shipping and sex.

Like, if that's your thing then more power to you but it's never been mine, and I can't help but feel that you miss out on so much nuance and intrigue and enjoyment when you only consider things in those narrow terms.

I hope @laststandx3 doesn't mind me including their excellent tags from my Hickey/Tozer Face-Cupping Incident post here because they really do sum up my own feelings on the matter, and I've been thinking about them for days:

#I love that dk is like we can have such interesting complicated relationships with characters that don't always have to be flattened in #A sexual relationship and the fandom response was 'let them fuck' #Same with jopson crozier. Like i get the ships need i get it. But once in a while can we like entertain the idea that not everything #Needs to be a sexual relationship every single time #Like hickeytozer is much more interesting like this (they've barely touched before but committed treason together anyway) than just having #Them be lovers right away or even during the mutiny #It flattens them #You guys are finding those relationships SO interesting exactly bc they aren't as easily defined as romantic/sexual

So the Little Ghost King finally comes up with the idea to gather the fangs of thirty-six demon beasts. To him, they symbolise the magnificent thirty-six mountains and rivers of the Kunlun mountain range. Weaving a cord from his long hair, he works them into a necklace so unique it can’t fail to impress.

He gives the necklace to Lord Kunlun, but when he receives his gift of thirty-six big teeth, Lord Kunlun’s expression turns very strange, even more unusual than the necklace itself. He looks like he might have a toothache, but he seems to be suppressing that feeling, forcing out a smile and thanking him with gritted teeth.

The Little Ghost King comes to the conclusion that he probably doesn’t like it. Lord Kunlun never wears it, not even once. And every time the LIttle Ghost King mentions it, Lord Kunlun changes the topic.

After a moment, he decides to ignore his nonsense and skip the conversation altogether. He lifts his hand and pulls the water dragon pearl from Zhao Yunlan’s neck. When it touches his palm, it hisses like cold water hitting a hot frying pan. Thick black smoke rises from it and it transforms into a piece of scale. Zhao Yunlan looks on with wide eyes, trying to get closer, but Shen Wei turns his hand over so he can’t see it anymore.

“Wait, what is that?” Zhao Yunlan says. “It doesn’t look like a fish scale. It’s a type of reptile… is it snake?”

“You don’t know what it is but you hang it around your neck,” Shen Wei says, bad-tempered. “And it… and it comes from someone else’s body. Do you not think it’s dirty?”

Zhao Yunlan looks at him innocently.
