Yes, Cassie totally has a crush on Jentorra.
No, I do not ship them, because Cassie is supposed to be a teenager, and Jentorra is not.

I loved the part at the end of “Quantumania” when Scott was having an existential crisis over whether or not he actually saved the world. It had such an eerie feeling and I cannot imagine the guilt he’s going to feel when he realizes that he didn’t succeed in getting rid of Kang and probably accidentally made the situation worse.

Honestly, I only wanted one thing from Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania. Just one. And that was father/daughter fanservice with Scott and Cassie. The best part of Scott’s character (in my opinion, ya’ll) is his love for his little girl.
90% of the movie was father/daughter fanservice and I was so there for it. Loved Protective Ant-Dad. Loved Cassie kicking ass. Loved their hugs. Even Cassie calling Hank “grandpa” was a nice bonus.
So, yes. I was satisfied with the movie and I liked it. All I wanted and needed was that father/daughter material.
Family bonds FTW.

Hello again Hank.-Kangaroo The Conqueror
Tumblr media
"Holy shit...you're a kangaroo."
Hank freezes as he looks at the mammal in front of him. Was this...was this Kang? Did Scott somehow turn him into a kangaroo?

honorable mention: david dastmalchia as veb the goo who loves holes (hes incredible lmao)
worst part: this is just MY opinion but kathryn newton was hands down the worst part of the movie. cassie was never annoying and she made her very, very annoying

I’m so glad someone else doesn’t like Jonathan Majors as Kang because I thought it was just me. He’s so…flat. I’ve only ever seen him as Kang in Loki and now Ant Man and it’s like he’s just reading his lines, if that makes sense? (I’m also like 👹 for Loki s2 after that second post credit scene)
yes!!! Exactly what I thought. At first i thought it was because this variant was boring but.... his acting in the first post credit scene wasn't good either 💀 I hated him in Loki but maybe it's how he's supposed to act? I never watched movies or tv shows with him before....
I want loki season 2 without Sylvie. I hate her because of sylki (a shame because she could have been interesting) and she doesn't deserve my mom's name

Quantumania spoilers below the cut!!!!!!!
this is going to be so messy and maybe not make that much sense but here are my thoughts
my main takeaways from this movie are 1: Scott Lang is a good dad 2: Hope is a cool stepmom 3: the Kangs are all comin and the MCU is in troubleeeeeee and 4: Cassie Lang is a sapphic. did you see the way that girl looked at Jentorra. I’m hc-ing her as either lesbian or bi.
also am I the only one absurdly happy that Hank and Janet get featured in scenes so much??? like with the MCU and I would say actually action movies in general, it’s commonly the Gen Xers and below who get all the action but Janet and Hank are older and still utter badasses and I love that honestly
KANG IS A FUCKING EPIC VILLAIN. kinda sad that he died honestly, and now everykang else is approaching our main timeline… this does not give hopeful feelings for the heroes in the near future
Veb is adorable I love him. also like that he’s played by the Baba Yaga guy.
Jentorra’s really cool! I want to be her when I grow up. She reminds me of Valkyrie.
I have this random theory that maybe Scott didn’t actually make it out of the quantum realm at the end, but maybe the ants kind of picked up on how devastated he was to never see Cassie again and made a whole version of reality like a hologram or smth inside the quantum realm to give the illusion that he’s with his family. idk that was just something I thought of that could explain the slightly cliche ending
Young Avengers movie when??????????? just off the top of my head we have Peter, Harley, Cassie, Kamala, America, Shuri and Elijah Bradley already in the MCU we just. need a reason for them all to come together and kick ass.
I know we all screamed when we saw Loki in the end credit scene but my brain malfunctioned and I just went “Tom Hiddleston is in this? Okay” before I saw Mobius and I was like “oh. oh right, Loki”
the marvel brainrot is retuning. someone help me. I just started a new fic.

Thoughts on the trailer (you all know which one)
They are teasing and playing up Scott dying way too much for them to go through with it now. My money is on Janet or Cassie biting it and something else happens and Scott makes a deal and he is stuck as Kang’s brainwasher pawn or something.
Bottom line, Scott doesn’t die.

My review:
After ending phase four with the greatness of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, you would think Marvel knows how to start phase five with a BANG. Wrong. The third instalment of the Ant-Man films is a decent superhero film but that’s about it.
Whereas the multiverse should have been an incredible asset for the MCU, so far it has mostly felt like the same things over and over again. The stakes are always too high for the Avengers in question but somehow they always overcome the villain, even when it just doesn’t make sense. The films have also been taking place in space (or quantum realm, which genuinely feels the same), way too often and not usually in Marvel’s favour, especially when nothing seems to touch the same level of the two Guardians of the Galaxy instalments.
Luckily, the newest additions to the cast were a delight. I’ve never been incredibly attached to the Ant-Man actors but they always made it work enough for me to really enjoy the films. Kathryn Newton as Cassie, however, was a pleasant surprise from the start and both how her character is written and acted out is very fun. More importantly, Jonathan Majors is the best possible casting option for Kang, and I really enjoyed seeing him on the big screen. I liked how different this Kang felt from Loki’s He Who Remains and definitely shows the actor’s range. That being said, Kang the Conqueror as the main villain in an Ant-Man film didn’t make sense at all and it really wasn’t the right introduction to him in the films.
The main appeal to the Ant-Man instalments is and has always been the humour, which Paul Rudd always excels in delivering. Quantumania, however, felt way more dramatic with the stakes being raised and although I still got some laughs out of it, it wasn’t the same. The opening and ending felt more true to the character than the majority of the actual story and so it was a lot less enjoyable. The ending in itself also felt very weak and made the high stakes feel useless. I believe that if the MCU appealed slightly more to their older audience in their writing without making it wholly inappropriate for the younger ones, these films could be so much better.
Overall, a cool superhero film that is quite weird at times but never reaches its full potential. It’s a waste of the cast but not a total waste of your time if you decide to go see it. Plenty of slight humour and touching family moments to keep you going and of course, the post credit scenes to get you excited for the continuation of the universe with hopefully better films and series.

I gasped so loudly when Marielle Scott and Ryan Bergara made their cameos in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” and I was the only person who reacted to them in my theater, so I can only imagine how confused everyone else must have been.

Honestly, one of my favourite scenes from Ant-Man 3 is when all the different Scotts started making a hill and pulling Scott up so he could get to Cassie. And I loved how they were saying stuff like: “Let him through!” “Pull him up!” so on.
And I was like: “Yeah, go get your baby girl!” (not out loud of course because I have some theatre manners lmao)

Haven’t seen Ant-Man 3 yet, but I’ve watched a spoiler review on it, and it truly confirms something I already knew: the MCU is just doing a “find and replace” for beloved/established characters.
Ant-Man is now --> his daughter  Natasha/Black Widow is now --> Yelena Clint/Hawkeye is now --> Kate Bishop Loki is now --> Sylvie Tony Stark/Iron Man is now --> Iron Heart  Steve Rogers/Captain America is now --> Sam Wilson (don’t come for me, I love Sam, but they handled him weirdly in TFATWS. the same can be said for Bucky) Thor --> was very briefly Jane Foster, but they killed her off in the same movie
I may be missing a few, but you get the idea. I’m personally not a fan of this. Marvel comics has a shit ton of characters to choose from. The MCU has already used lesser known characters to great success. I wish they’d keep doing that rather than, again, this “find and replace” method.
I may not be keeping up with the MCU anymore (there’s very little from them I want to even see. phase 4 was super disappointing.), but I can still be annoyed/frustrated/disappointed with how they’re continuing to handle things.
