I love the shape language for Machete and Vasco, how angular and pointy the former is VS how round and soft the other... It's so GOOD I adore that

Thank you! I like the contrast as well, it makes them very fun to draw together. I try to keep them visually distinct while still making sure that they look harmonious and complementary next to each other.

#some more design musings that I've noticed that don't really matter but I tend to think about when drawing them: #Machete's shapes have an upward direction the ears the neck fluff and even the tip of his snout has that upturned angle #while Vasco's vibe is more loose and relaxed his huge floppy ears almost make him look like he's melting #neither of them have strong markings but the positioning of the gradients they have is very similar it's just different colors #Vasco has dark almond eyes (with what I can only describe as disney eyelashes) #his irises appear nearly black but if you shone a strong light directly on them they'd reveal a honey/amber hue #Machete's eyes are big and prominent with disproportionally small pupils #lately I've been drawing him with just the faintest salmon colored irises #but if the color scheme of the piece calls for it they can be depicted more vividly red #Machete has longer untameable fur here and there while Vasco is uniformly smooth and velvety #Machete is supposed to be the serious and inhibited half of the two but his face has a lot more expressive potential than Vasco's #it's actually kind of a struggle that I can't make Vasco emote with his ears at all those are typically a huge advantage in furry art #Vasco's body language is open and casual he takes up space confidently #Machete is usually very closed and defensive he has a habit of crossing his arms and legs and keeping his hands together and close to body #in general Vasco shouldn't be wearing anything black or red and Machete can't be seen wearing blue or gold #white is neutral territory it's usually the color of sleepwear and undershirts and as a result has a more intimate tone to it #answered #ardate

A Tumblr “Search” Function That Works

Prefacing this by saying that I am a tumblr old. I was here before the app and largely prefer the browser version. A common complaint is that the “search blog” function is completely broken. Even if you have posts that you’ve appropriately tagged, you have no way of finding them. The search function won’t give you all your tagged posts, will put in posts you didn’t even tag, or will simply come up with nothing even though you know you have tagged posts.

I’m going to let you guys in on a little tumblr knowledge that I’ve come to find out a good chunk of people (especially new tumblr users) aren’t aware of:

(Small caveat, this only works in the browser version.)

Yourblogurl.tumblr.com/tagged/yourtag will take you to every single post you have ever tagged with that specific tag, from newest to oldest.

Yourblogurl.tumblr.com/tagged/yourtag/chrono will take you to every single post you have ever tagged with that specific tag from oldest to newest.

Yourblogurl.tumblr.com/archive will take you to your blog’s archive, where you can filter posts by post type (text, photo, audio etc), month, and tags.

I’ve just seen a lot of people being upset that they can’t find posts that they tagged for later, so here’s your foolproof bypass to tumblr’s very very broken blog search function.

ADHD and quitting: there’s also a good sense!

It took decades. Not years. Decades.

Us ADHDers DNF (= do not finish) so many things, that even leaving a book that doesn’t click with us ends up feeling like a failure: here’s another thing I started and will never finish.

After decades of forcing myself through books I did not connect with so as not to “quit”, I realized I’ve been wrong all this time.

A better, more correct way to look at this is - here’s me re-evaluating and realizing that this specific effort is simply not worth it!

Today I quit reading Terry Pratchett’s “The Colour of Magic” a third way in. Not because it wasn’t good, not because I’m a bad reader, and certainly not because I’m a failure.

The book is funny and cool, but at the moment I need characters to deeply connect with. This is not that kind of book.

Glad I realized this was the reason for my very slow advancement with it!

As a farewell to Pratchett, here’s a quote that seems like a description of the path of an ADHD thought: 😁

“In his somewhat defenceless state a stray thought, wandering through the dimensions in search of a mind to harbour it, slid into his brain.”

How do we let go of the past, learn to love ourselves, and gain confidence and self esteem even in the face of negativity and cruel, false rumours?

Hi love. I think the most important thing to realize/remember is that most people's cruel words and baseless claims are a reflection of their current emotional state, life stressors, and their own poor self-esteem.

Validate your truth. Use facts to highlight this truth to stand up for yourself in high-stakes circumstances (like with a boss, professor/teacher, sometimes parents, law enforcement tax/governmental agents, etc.).

If it's petty gossip, say as little as possible and just avoid it. Most people who say and spread these rumors are seeking an outspoken response or some sort of emotional degradation on your side. So, the best thing you can do is allow the rumors to fall on deaf ears.

If they persist or genuinely could tarnish your reputation (say for your professional reputation, university, or a job opportunity, etc.) counter their false claims with facts to back up your narrative. Facts over feelings (but actually this time).

Help why are people already at chap 3 and im still stuck in chapter 1 😭😭😭😭

Could you please bestow me you knowledge on how in the world you managed to get past chap 1

If you still couldn't promote anyone from the lack of Solomon's tears during chapter 1... I can only say, don't hesitate to upgrade S or A+ units to lv 20. They're still usefull and can do good damage. (Also do summons when you can, evolving my S / A+ units with their tealeaves really did help me there !) Don't forget to also add artefacts to them, some of their bonus are helpful too (Damage reduction for tanks, attack speed for distance characters etc..). If your L unit the game gave you at first is a good damage dealer, try to put everything on him. Max level, Best artefact, try to upgrade as much as you can the unholy board. Also I've learnt that characters that slows the ennemies is really awesome when you have a main DPS. Right now for chapter 3 I'm at the part they almost ask you to be lv 40. But apart from my two L units, they're all lv 20. But Paimon, Belial, Ppyong, Barbatos, Glasyalabas ( this one is my fav slow) really help me to slow down all the ennemies so my DPS has all his time to hit the targets. Elements are important and moving your characters during the fight can also really help.

[Child show] sex pested by the annoying dude. But like shes so cool and confident good humour rebuffing him. Is like. Also bad?

But also cause i dont know know where tf critical talk happened and u cant look it up cause all you get is movie stuff [for the dude. They did robot yellow face. Btw. In those movies] or comic fans who arent Misogynists fighting for their lives [cause. You know. 2013. Woman in comics] and its like yes. Okay. But i have this other concern?

#one thing i really wanted to do is show how like #all the stuff that happens on the Grand Scale TM with the Avengers #and even to a certain extent the things Matt does that affects the city at large #kinda snowball into all these things on street level #on top of those decisions tipping dominoes elsewhere #like White Coat's connection to Stryker #it's something i always liked about DD (and the other defenders) being a balance to the Big Guys #i like seeing all this stuff at street level where to a certain extent they're all down in the muck #DD did a lovely job of building that world and fleshing that out #and so it felt natural to do the same thing and take that *further* in TRT #we flesh the Kitchen out even more #here are the people who trust DD and the little churches dealing with rising tensions over enhanced people #here are the scrappy little runaways that don't trust SHIELD after DC and the little criminal fishes who just want to avoid Fisk #here's a SHIELD agent too low on the totem pole to be one of Coulson's and here's Jane whose best defense is literally running away #I LOVE being able to run all this alongside canon #ANYWAY #thank you so much for dropping this in my box #it made me so so happy! #the red thread
