Modern Eddie Playing Outlast
His eyes are absolutely huge with fear as his character only ever crouches around, he never stands up unless it's to run.
You two are sitting on the floor, you were sat behind him with your arms around him for comfort and emotional support.
Eddie backs up against every time he gets scared, and now you're just smooshed between him and the back of the bed/couch. To make things even, you're holding him pretty tightly.
It's mostly just him yelping, screaming and cursing at the screen the whole time.
He's too freaked out to look around for in game batteries properly, so you have to be his eyes and point them out for him.
If you're playing whistleblower, you're left cackling at the strangled high-pitched wail Eddie bellows when the character "Eddie Gluskin" is castrating people, and nearly the player character. Eddie is just screaming like a nazgul at the evil Eddie in game.

"No no, no no, no! ow, ow, ow....no - jesus fucking christ!" he's just yelling at the top of his lungs.
Like Eddie's got his legs crossed and his knees drawn as close as he can get them as if the character were actually trying to hurt him.
"Who made this game!" Eddie is shouting.
That guy who corners you in the bathroom, "Silky you look so....silky" has Eddie afraid to leave the stall in game. With how bad the game is, Eddie is as convinced as he was the first time he ran into the character that he's trying to make Eddie's character drop some soap.
"No, thank you." Eddie keeps muttering.
Eddie abuses all the hiding spots in the game.
And when you two fire up Outlast II it just breaks poor Eddie. With the weird heretical sex cult VS weird puritan sex cult and the flashbacks.
Eddie eventually just passes you the controller and you two switch roles, but now he's squeeze the life out of you while yelling in fear in your ear.
He makes you sleep with the lights on, he's got a hammer next to his pillow. And he has vowed to by batteries in the morning.

Why you should give Text Adventure games a try (and how to do so)
There is not nearly enough love for Text Adventure Games here on Tumblr. Or anywhere really. But especially here, I feel like you guys would really get a kick out of them. Here's why:
(quick note, I'm gonna be using the words Text Adventure and Interactive Fiction pretty interchangeably here. Technically that's not perfectly accurate, they are technically different things, but I don't care to explain the difference Just roll with it.)
So
Do you like weird short stories told through unconventional mediums? That's most of what Interactive Fiction is
You like story based video games but hate the finicky combat? Congrats, there is literally no combat skill required beyond the ability to type "hit guard with crowbar"
Blind or visually impaired? Since these games are (with a few exceptions) entirely text based, they work great with a screen reader!
Sick of profit motivated AAA titles with no creative integrity? Well, these games are almost always produced by a single nerd (usually a horrid amalgamation of computer geek and literature geek) with no budget and no responsibilities of the product they're making. And they're usually not paid, since these games are free. Text Adventure is a labour of love, and in most games you can feel the care and effort the creator has put into the game.
Sick of spending $20-70 on a video game? Lucky you, I've been playing TA for years and I have not spent a cent in doing so (Fallen Londen will try to make you pay. But Fallen Londen sucks and is run by bigots. Fuck Fallen London.) Games are either available free on a browser, or as free, small downloadable files (most of which can be played using the Parchment Interpreter)
Wish you read more, but reliant on the quick dopamine of digital media? Well now you can read while also being an active participant in the narrative.
Bad at puzzles? Me too! Games from the 80s and 90s, as well as more famous newer games, have walkthroughs and hints easily available online. Newer games tend to either have a "hint" command, or come with a walkthrough file.
Do you like weird surrealist horror? Well there's... A lot of it.
Okay, but where do I start?
So there are two types of text adventure. The one you might be more accustomed to, and which sees more modern use, is called Hypertext Interactive Fiction. The other is called Parser Interactive Fiction, it's generally seen in older games, as well as games that are larger, feature more puzzles, or involve more exploration.
Hypertext games
Basically, the game will give you a scenario, and then a list of options (hypertext links) to click on to decide what to do next. These are usually more beginner friendly since you don't need to fiddle around with parsers, but personally I find them a bit limiting. Nonetheless, if you're new to Text Adventure, they're a good place to start.
Some of my favourites hypertext games (summaries in green)
My Father's Long, Long Legs is an interactive horror story about family, unease, and loss. Really more of a story than a game, but still good. Very nice use of sound. It does have some visual aspects, so this one might not work with screen readers
Scene Kid Simulator is pretty much what it says on the tin. A cute, nostalgic, coming-of-age slice of life story from the POV of a 2000s scene preteen. Nothing special, but a fun time.
The Uncle Who Works at Nintendo is a strange, unconventional, witty, and heartfelt horror game. Your friend has an uncle who he says works for Nintendo. You're about to meet him, or so he says. A fun and spooky look at childhood, childhood friendships, and childhood lies.
16 Ways to Kill a Vampire at McDonald's is... A joy to play. The name says it all honestly. Witty, charming, tense, engaging, and emotional when it wants to be. I actually found this one through a lucky Tumblr Blaze, which makes sense since this is perfectly suited to Tumblr sensibilities. This one has more puzzle aspects than most hypertext games, but it's still relatively easy and beginner friendly. You're a vampire hunter. It's your night off, and you go to McDonald's. But there's something wrong with the customer sitting beside you...
Toadstools is a game about hunting mushrooms. You have trespassed in a national park and you are wandering blindly through the woods looking for rare fungi. Good luck :)
Parser games
Okay these fuckers are where I really get excited. These games have the classic flashing cursor line where you input text like "go north", "search bookshelf", or "kiss my husband", and the game's rudimentary AI parses your input to decide what happens next. These are my favourites. They really allow you the feeling of exploring the game world, immerse you in the protagonist and the story, using just text on a screen and simple inputs. This does make them considerably more difficult, since a) you need to decide the right way to phrase what you want to do, otherwise it won't work, and b) more possibilities means more chances to mess up and miss things. Unlike video games, your cursor won't light up when you see something important, you'll have to search stuff and work things out on your own But, in my opinion, it is so, so worth it. The first text adventure game I ever played was One Eye Open. It's an extremely graphic and gory medical horror game (although I would consider it tasteful medical horror, in that it never derives horror from medical procedures, disability, or ooOoHh gross scary sick people) You play as a volunteer test subject for a medical research facility, having to unravel the mystery of the hospital's bloody past. It's good. It's fun. It's tense. It has some really dumb mechanics. Don't play if you're sensitive to descriptions of gore, death, or corpses. This one doesn't have a walkthrough, but I've played it enough times to know the puzzles by heart, DM me if you need help.
Anchorhead is possibly my favourite piece of interactive fiction I've ever played. It's incredible. You play as a newlywed woman, moving to the small seaside town of Anchorhead after your husband Michael inherited a mansion from some distant relatives. There's something wrong with the town though. There's definitely something wrong with your husband's mysterious ancestors. And you're starting to think that there might be something strange happening to Michael. Get ready for some wonderfully atmospheric and immersive Lovecraftian horror, action sequences that are incredibly vibrant for Text Adventure, and a super compelling mystery that the game lets you work out on your own. The puzzles here are hard. I'm not gonna lie, I used a walkthrough at several points during this game. But my god it's worth it. Big massive huge content warning here for mentions of incest, sexual assault, and pedophilia. Not in excess, and nothing explicit, but it will be mentioned as part of the story.
Little Blue Men is a short, strange, sci-fi-ish horror-ish comedy-ish game by the same author as Anchorhead, though the two games are wildly different. You are an office worker. Cope with it. Take The Stanley Parable, Stella Firma, and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, mash 'em together, and you have Little Blue Men. It's bizarre. It's evocative. It's pretty darn good.
Coloratura is a strangely beautiful sci-fi story. You're a weird little alien blob. You've been separated from your home and are trapped aboard a human spaceship. You need to get home, need to make the humans understand in the only ways you can: color and song.
Slouching Towards Bedlam is a brilliant little steampunk game about language, choice, cults, Armageddon, and triangles. This game has multiple endings. It's neat in that none of the endings are really "good" or "bad". Rather, you need to decide where you stand, and act in the way you think is best.
The Lurking Horror is the grandparent of horror interactive fiction, released in the late 80s. You're a tech student in university. Something more than electricity is powering the school's computers. Find it, but don't die along the way. Besides the comically archaic descriptions of computers, this game doesn't feel all that dated. It's tricky, puzzle-heavy, and charmingly surreal. (Fun fact, this game and another old TA game called Zork inspired the "darkness kills you" mechanic which would later be popularized in Don't Starve!)
Nine Lives is a very short, very weird, very cartoony game where you play a cat that is very bad at staying alive. Cw for non-graphic but repeated cat death.
Spider and Web is one of the most ingenious uses of Text Adventure as a medium I've ever seen. It's famous for having one of, if not the singular best puzzles in video game history. It's tense, it's fast-paced, it introduces you to mechanics slowly and then lets you test them out on your own. I won't spoil too much, but you play as a very badass spy, reliving your brilliant heist during an interrogation. This game even features a character destined to be a Tumblr Sexyman. It really has it all.
If anyone actually read through all this, and has even considered playing any of these games, I'll be a little surprised. This post turned out a lot longer than I wanted it to be. It was meant to just be "hey interactive fiction is a cool and underappreciated medium, go check it out", but this is my special interest, and not one I often get to talk about. I guess this was me infodumping to the only place that will listen, the empty void of the internet. But these games are fun. And they do not get enough love. Text games are a dying genre, if they're not dead already. Give them a chance, show them some love.

Halloween Week of Horror (Games)
It's that time of year, and as someone who (a) loves horror, but (b) hasn't had much of an appetite lately for full-length horror films, I've been struggling to find a way to embrace spooky season. Then I hit on it---text-based games!
Even I, a known video game hater, love a good text-based game. Half poetry, half clicking, and all artistry, they're one of the great, underdiscussed treasures of the modern internet. Therefore, come join me for a week of indie horror "games" about haunted houses, ghosts, secrets kept, and also Mary Toft.
My list of games is cribbed from this post and this post.

childhood homes (and why we hate them) 
after a decade, you return home
Starting with this particular game was ingenious---it plays to exactly my weaknesses: poetry, unreliable narrators, unhappy families, and the house as locus of memory/witness to horror/horror in itself.
That being said, I feel like this would reward subsequent walkthroughs even more. I took it too quickly, wanted to rush to the end when there’s too much ambiguity for that. Did Lottie kill her father? Is the house still whole and there, even after all these years, or is that a fever dream? How long was her returning? Is she there still? (....and given the mention of the house being a “second son” are we meant to understand that Lottie is trans?) I also played “my brother; the parasite” from this same creator, and would say it's even better---that kind of identity/body horror ambiguity, wrapped up in twisted maybe-love, maybe-hate, is very much my speed.
SPOOKY LEVEL: 6/10, though it's largely uncanny and reality-bending rather than actively frightening
OVERALL GRADE: A-

vacant 
Film a ghost-hunting show.
Of all the games on this list, this one felt the most lived in, the most normal-devolving-into-horror. The set-up is reasonably familiar: you are a camera woman hired at the last minute to help a ghost-hunter with her local shoot. You meet her out in what seems to be the middle of nowhere, explore an abandoned hotel that was home to some weird stuff (cults, mysterious disappearances, more than one death), crack some sarcastic jokes---
Unfortunately, it gets even weirder at that point.
Despite getting tripped up on some of the mechanics (it took me too long to figure out that there was another room on the main level) this ended up being haunting, resisting easy answers. The sudden randomness of the violence bursts through, and the ending in particular is sharp, lovely, and even more unsettling.
SPOOKY LEVEL: 4/10, aside from some sudden noises (things breaking, etc.) the horror is largely atmospheric
OVERALL GRADE: B

i am still here 
a short, unconventional ghost story and vignette reflecting on the end of a long lockdown.
Unlike some of the other entries on this list, this is not a horror game at all. Perhaps a little uncanny, since it's just you---a purple thing on a screen---wandering around a pandemic-emptied Melbourne, musing about the way the world has changed. Still, as someone who did live through lockdown, it was surprising affective.
Brief, but moving. When the screen fades to teal blue, and it’s just the ambient noise of a small pond? That was lovely.
SPOOKY LEVEL: 0/10
OVERALL GRADE: B

flesh, blood, & concrete
you find yourself in a vast, empty apartment complex.
I have gone back and forth on this one. On one hand, the central story is affective---the main character's car runs out of gas in an unnamed town, in the middle of a snow storm; she finds help in a strange apartment complex, seemingly abandoned except for a lone girl, and her "parents." The more you explore the complex, the more you reveal about the woman's intentions, and the more uncanny, unworldly, the scenery becomes.
(I would have given anything to “see” the scenes of destruction, decay and otherworldliness in full color---even in 24-bit, they were lovely.)
On the other hand, the concept and the worldbuilding had such potential that the "frame" story (a little boy, sent out to play in the snow) and the ending came as something of a let-down? Or...maybe not the ending itself (a melancholy, depressed woman driving off into the snow and being swallowed alive by meat that is love---that's a good story) but the framing device made no sense. And why could you collect items if the aim is to surrender to that powerful, overall lure?
Still, I think the replay value here would be immense. Scrolling through the comments afterwards, there are a lot of people who got very different endings, so it's a game that rewards that exploratory path.
SPOOKY LEVEL: 6/10, and mostly for body horror (meat/blood) and uncanny worldbuilding
OVERALL GRADE: B+

a gothic mystery game in which you rely on your environment to uncover the truth.
A lovely little story, where you play madlibs and discover why an unnamed hero chose to sell their soul to the devil—and the thing it makes them into, the tragedy that finds them regardless. One of the shorter entries on this list, and less a game than wandering through an abandoned house to admire its poetry.
Also, I loved the Latin. More games should incorporate Latin.
SPOOKY LEVEL: 2/10
OVERALL GRADE: B

First and foremost it is a game that is meant for 18+. I do not recommend anyone below that age to play it due to the dark theme.

The Price Of Flesh is an 18+ survival horror visual novel made by Gatobob.
Plot
You begin the game in an auction, and you are what's being sold to one of three bidders. No matter who purchases you and where you are taken, you must rely on your wits and skills in order to survive your new harsh conditions.
If you are bought by Mason, you'll be taken off the grid, deep into the dark Canadian wilderness. Mason's goal is a good hunt, and you are his prize. On this path you'll not only be dealing with Mason, but the mountain itself, and all the danger upon it. You'll need survival skills, and to keep your wits about you. You'll need to manage your health, the freezing temperature, and the onset of insanity to have a chance of surviving.
If Celia buys you, you'll be taken to the basement floors of an abandoned office building. Celia is a bit high strung, and she's looking for a way to relax. Unfortunately, her preferred methods of unwinding are a bit violent. One wrong move and you may lose your life. Her path is more psychological, and you'll need to be smart and stealthy to stay alive. Unfortunately, there's no way to tell time underground- and you'll never know when she's going to come back.
Derek belongs to a sort of 'club'. If he's the one to purchase you, then you'll find out what this club is all about. In the middle of the desert, five killers bring five victims- including you. Not only will you have five murderers to contend with, but you'll have to worry about the searing heat of the desert. There's no food and no water, and the clock is ticking for your own survival- and that of the other four victims. You may need to work together if you want to make it out alive.
In the DLC you are taken in by Ren { a character from B2D and B2D2 }

Fox DLC is more focused on survival as opposed to individual endings. The MC needs to appease not only Fox, but his chat as well. Therefore, this is a guide on how to complete the route, as well as any alternate methods
Mason was the hardest for me, not only because of you needing to stay warm but you gotta watch out for him hunting you. It took me a while to get the good ending. { which is finding the bear trap, setting it up and getting him} also the dude does give you shit to survive the wilderness...so theirs that i guess.
Celia's took me a bit to get the best ending since you need to keep your sanity between 20-30. I did like how she is the only one that lets you go in one of her survival endings, Sidenote. I low key find it adorable that she lets you go but you can choose to stay with her and how happy she gets.
Derek....FUCK THIS ASSHOLE AND FUCK THE PEOPLE HES WITH AND FUCK THAT DESERT. God he pissed me off, the satisfaction of offing him and his goons then escaping with the other two survivors was just beautiful.
Annnnnd now my favorite
Ren...first i gotta say that unlocking him is such a pain...well was until i actually found a good walkthrough.
I love him due to the previous games he is in first.
Second, i love his good ending, like i wanna share the screen shots of it so bad { so if ya'll wanna sit or any of the survival endings let me know.}

Hello hello :) Just wanted to drop in and ask; I've been thinking abt watching someone play Buddy Simulator but my usual go to for indie horror games on YouTube hasn't played it. Do you have any recommendations for guys to watch? Ty :>
im happy to hear buddy sims sparked your interest!! i'm sorry to say i've never watched a buddy sim letsplay, i've only ever played it myself. maybe some of my followers have though, so i'm turning this question to them!!! my psionic warriors, help zyremida!!!! aid it!!! help zyremida dot com Now!!!!
if you're having trouble finding letsplays for buddy sim as a whole, here's one by mashe99, each video (many of them) is about 15-20 minutes long. another one i found is by RUIN, who has less videos in their letspay, that vary from 30-60 minutes. they also have a cover of one of the songs from the ost, so im willing to bet they felt Something about the game!! another one - though, its more of a playthrough? theres 2 videos and theyre both an hour long, is by gab smolders. this is the one i'm most familiar with, though only in the way that i've seen their thumbnails a few times lol. i've never actually watched the videos, but this is the one i'd rec most i guess? not for any solid reason though. there's also other playlists i saw out there (jesse cox) (mrkravin) (cadplays) (joystickjams) but those first 3 are the first that stood out to me as something i'd watch. i also cannot promise that any of these people have played all of the game. they may have gotten an ending and never played it again (there's 4 endings).. but if the game interests you enough after seeing an ending, you could watch somebody else get another ending..? there's also walkthroughs without commentary (1) (2) (walkthroughs for all the endings), and what's a walkthrough but a silent playthrough....
i also know that markiplier and call me kevin (dont think i have to link those) played the game - i know marikiplier didnt finish his (for this he will never see the lights of heaven (joking)) .. and .. i am unsure about kevin? he has three (i think?) videos on it, and one of the titles references a lategame thing, so i'm assuming he got at least near the end. i'm also assuming he got the 3rd ending if i remember who he is correctly (the guy that aims to get the worst endings in games, i think???? or is that somebody else...)
i am also legally obligated to say that buddy sim will have a different effect on you depending on if you watch it or play it, i think, as buddy wouldnt be Your friend, but some other guys - but i also understand that the game might not be avalible to you, it might be too much for you (understandable), you're not certain whether it'd be worth the money (if it's this, i recommend watching this 10 minute long spoiler free video on it - i recommend watching it either way, really!! i watched it today and i like it), or any other infinitely more nuanced thing. and all of those are ok!!! i just had to tell you or the curse would get me

10 Game Recommendations
Bonjour~ As someone who has a lot of free time, I like to populate that time with various activities: reading, crafts, watching TV, language learning (mainly Duolingo) and playing games. Whilst I mainly like mystery/puzzle games, there are other genres I get involved in so hopefully this list will be varied enough!

Nancy Drew Her Interactive
𓆩⚜𓆪 Genre: Point and Click Mystery 𓆩❀𓆪 Gameplay description: Join teenage sleuth Nancy Drew in various mysteries by exploring various environments, finding clues and interviewing suspects. 𓆩⚜𓆪 Single Game / Series? Series - my favourites are Ghost of Thornton Hall, Blackmoor Manor and Sea of Darkness 𓆩❀𓆪 Online / Offline / Both? Offline 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Varies on each game, most games you can choose "Junior" (easy) or "Senior" (hard) Detective, but it's common and acceptable to use online walkthroughs if you get stuck. There are also hint systems within the games. 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): PC, a couple are on the Wii, Mobile and DS but PC is a vastly superior experience. 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 10/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: This is my favourite game series and a special interest of mine since I was 8. It has wonderful music, well thought out environments and an atmosphere that always gives me happiness. I own every game available on Steam and usually replay all of them every year!

League of Legends Riot Games
𓆩⚜𓆪 Genre: MOBA 𓆩❀𓆪 Gameplay description: It features a team-based competitive game mode based on strategy and outplaying opponents. Players work with their team to break the enemy Nexus before the enemy team breaks theirs. 𓆩⚜𓆪 Single Game / Series? Series - League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra (Card game) Wild Rift. 𓆩❀𓆪 Online / Offline / Both? Both (predominantly online but there are AI modes, LOR has offline modes) 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Pretty hard, it takes people a while to get it properly and to be honest is quite hard to get into if you don't have anyone to learn with/help you learn. 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): PC, Mobile 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 7/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: I, like most people, have a difficult relationship with LOL. Whilst I generally enjoy the game, I like a lot of the skins and the music + Arcane are amazing, the game itself is quite hard (the only MOBA I have ever played) and the community is kinda awful. You are almost guaranteed to experience toxicity every single game, regardless of the mode, and even if you are in Blind mode (you must reach Level 10 for Draft where you choose your role and Level 30 for Ranked), and are clearly new, you will likely be with people who already play the game but are on new accounts (called Smurfs). You can mute people (best method is typing /mute all in the chat) but it's annoying when you have to deal with it rather than people just be civil. If you do get a team that are nice, then great! The game is fun! Unfortunately, I really do exercise caution with this game, as I have known absolutely no one who has played without quitting or taking breaks (including myself).

What Remains of Edith Finch Giant Sparrow
𓆩⚜𓆪 Genre: Exploration Narrative (some describe it as a horror game with no jumpscares (bar 2)) 𓆩❀𓆪 Gameplay description: You play as Edith Finch revisiting her old family home - you explore the house and the surrounding area and read the old stories written by the elder of the family. You try to uncover the "family curse" before time runs out (figuratively, you can spend as long as you'd like on the game, there is no actual time limit). 𓆩⚜𓆪 Single Game / Series? Single game (there is a parallel game if you want to continue the vibe) 𓆩❀𓆪 Online / Offline / Both? Offline 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Easy, no prior experience required 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): PS4, PS5, Switch, XBOX One, XBOX Series X + S, iOs, PC (what I played it on) 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 10/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: Whilst Nancy Drew is my favourite series, What Remains of Edith Finch (WREF) is hands down my favourite game of all time. It is, admittedly, very very depressing, and I think if you're not feeling too great mentally it isn't a good idea to play. I first played it at a time where I was doing okay, so now when I revisit it (regardless of mood) it brings comfort. Because of the previously reinforced comfort, if I'm not in a good mood and I play it, it makes me feel very creative. The way the game works honestly feels like therapy, how every story is different. I don't think I'll ever find another game like it, and that is why it is so precious to me.

Animal Crossing Nintendo
𓆩⚜𓆪 Genre: Life/Social/Farming Sim 𓆩❀𓆪 Gameplay description: You play as a human visiting a land of talking animals! Help rejuvenate the community, make friends and have your dream house. 𓆩⚜𓆪 Single Game / Series? Series, most recent is Animal Crossing: New Horizons (NH) 𓆩❀𓆪 Online / Offline / Both? Both, you primarily play offline but it has online features and you can play with up to 8 others in NH 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Easy, very chill 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): depends on the game but includes Gamecube, DS, 3DS, Wii, Nintendo Switch 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 9/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: Animal Crossing has been a consistent series throughout my life and is a very good comfort game. I've never tried Stardew Valley as I don't particularly like the farming elements of the game, so AC is better for my tastes. Whilst I do love the series, it isn't a 10 because I, and many people, find you can only play in motivation spikes. It generally means means you'll play for a month straight then take 6 months off. It's not exactly a problem, just means if you're looking for a consistent gaming experience, you may experience AC burnout!

Offline 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Medium-Hard, has hint systems but can sometimes be very difficult and require looking at a walkthrough 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): iOS, Android, PC, Nintendo Switch 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 9/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: The Room, of which I first played the mobile versions, is one of the most beautiful mobile games I have ever seen. I don't know how Fireproof managed to make the graphics so amazing, but they did! I love puzzle games, and I wish I could actually have a box to solve puzzles from. That being said, the paranormal elements aren't something I'd like to have to experience in real life! Only isn't a 10 because I don't have VR headset so I can't play the latest game and that makes me sad.

Assassin's Creed Ubisoft
𓆩⚜𓆪 Genre: Stealth Action Historical / Open World RPG 𓆩❀𓆪 Gameplay description: The fight between the Assassins and the Templars has spanned across history, and each game allows you to play as someone on either side in a period of historical significance. There is combat, stealth, economy and a whole lot more. 𓆩⚜𓆪 Single Game / Series? Series, my favourites are AC2, AC4 and AC Syndicate (as I am from the UK) 𓆩❀𓆪 Online / Offline / Both? Both, primarily offline but online multiplayer is available in most games (if Ubisoft hasn't shut down the servers) 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Varied, they usually begin pretty easy but get harder as you go along, AC2 I found I could mash buttons and beat anyone :) 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): Pretty much every platform, I have played on XBOX 360, PC and Nintendo Switch 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 10/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: I love this series. I love history, first of all, so the prospect of getting to play in various time periods is incredibly appealing! I've given a 10/10 because, even though I don't think every game is a 10/10, the amount of fun I had in the 5 games I've completed is enough to pull up the ones I don't like. Because of the (expected) quality of each game, some aren't as great (e.g. Unity had one of the most infamous bad launches in gaming history and I still can't play it properly due to bugs and poor user interface) but some are amazing. I personally think AC2 is the best one to start with, but fair warning: you will fall in love with Ezio.

The Forest Endnight Games
𓆩⚜𓆪 Genre: Survival Horror 𓆩❀𓆪 Gameplay description: In this first person game you, Eric Leblanc, must survive The Forest after having already survived a plane crash. Either plan an escape or go deeper into The Forest to find your son Timmy. The question is: how deep can you go? 𓆩⚜𓆪 Single Game / Series? Series (The Forest / Sons of The Forest) 𓆩❀𓆪 Online / Offline / Both? Both 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Medium-Hard 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): PS4, PC 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 9/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: If you play it right, The Forest is essentially horror, adult Minecraft. You can choose the difficulty but I still find it hard even on easy (I am not very good at games). Whilst I cannot give story spoilers, I was truly enamoured in the lore of the game (and now series) when I first found out about The Forest. But, importantly, it is scary. No matter how many people you play it with, it's still scary. I've only been able to play it with male friends, but they have never sounded less manly than when they've played this game. There is a sequel called Sons of The Forest (as seen in the gif below), but it is currently in testing so whilst I have access to it, I wouldn't consider it a full game yet and therefore I don't want to make any ill-made judgements. The Forest is honestly very beautiful and, if you're like me, you can always make it less scary by using console commands and making yourself invincible.

𓆩⚜𓆪 Genre: Digital Voyeur Simulator (not in a NSFW way) 𓆩❀𓆪 Gameplay description: You essentially work as a spy with access to security cameras in various places, usually places of residence. You can report to your bosses through emails, you can simply watch, you can even interact with the people you see. But you probably shouldn't do that last part. Unless you want to. Or not. All you truly know is that repeated phrase: Do Not Feed The Monkeys. 𓆩⚜𓆪 Single Game / Series? Series 𓆩❀𓆪 Online / Offline / Both? Offline 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Easy-Medium 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): Nintendo Switch, Android, PS4, XBOX One, XBOX Series X & S, PC 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 8/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: I bought this game after having previously enjoyed Papers, Please (I may feature this game if I do a second part), and it is very fun if you like time management. Every single camera (or room) has a schedule, and in these schedules they will talk and give important information highlighted in yellow. It's a very fun game because you don't necessarily have to follow the rules you're given. Even though it's a management simulator, it also tests your morals (and you can see how good your morals are through a plant you get gifted). If you struggle with the main mode, Peeper Mode makes it significantly easier and the only drawback is you can't unlock achievements.

𓆩⚜𓆪 Genre: Indie Adventure Game 𓆩❀𓆪 Gameplay description: The player plays as a robed person journeying towards a distant mountain through a sandy desert. The game has a multiplayer component, in which players can interact on their journey and assist each other. 𓆩⚜𓆪 Single Game / Series? Single Game 𓆩❀𓆪 Online / Offline / Both? Both 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Easy 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): PS3, PS4, iOS, PC 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 7/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: Journey is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Even if you have just a laptop, like me (at this moment in time), it still looks stunning. The multiplayer element is fascinating, as it's not entirely clear that you're playing with people. A lot of people aren't even sure if you always play with other people or if they are bots, but it doesn't really matter. You go on this Journey, and you're not alone. Now, you may be wondering, if it's so lovely, why is it only a 7/10? This is because, as much as I'd like to be one, I am not a cosy gamer. I like very stimulating games and Journey is lovely for if I want a calm gaming experience, but I rarely feel like that, so it just sits in my Steam library for months before I get the motivation again. It's by no means the fault of the game, just my own personal preference.

𓆩⚜𓆪 Genre: Life Simulator 𓆩❀𓆪 Gameplay description: The player creates virtual people called "Sims", places them in houses, and helps direct their moods and satisfy their desires. Players can either place their Sims in pre-constructed homes or build them themselves. 𓆩⚜𓆪 Single Game / Series? Series (most recent is The Sims 4) 𓆩❀𓆪 Online / Offline / Both? Technically both (usually offline but you can install mods to make it online) 𓆩⚜𓆪 Difficulty: Easy 𓆩❀𓆪 Platform(s): Basically everything 𓆩⚜𓆪 Personal Rating: 8/10 𓆩❀𓆪 Personal Notes: The Sims was probably one of the first games I ever played (bar a Garfield game I had on my DS). My cousin had the Sims 2 on DS, and I actually bought it recently to relive that time. I, unfortunately, did not realise how much she had already completed, so I lost the motivation for that one. However, I currently regularly play the Sims 4 on my laptop, and have quite a lot of mods and have all the packs (Anadius, IYKYK). I've remodelled my room recently, and the Sims meant I could plan it all out and I am very thankful for that. There are also so many options for building, customisation and traits. It is, however, not a 10, as the packs are way too expensive and morally I think it's kind of extortionate to make players pay hundreds of £/$ just to get a proper gaming experience. I have lots of mods to make it more fun and more full, but I don't feel I should have to do that. The only other game I've ever modded is Minecraft, and that's because I've been playing that since I was a child. The Sims is great, but it does get kinda boring at times.

Tw: lesbophobia.
For context, I've been watching a Little goody two shoes walkthrough since I can't play the game, I'm three hours in and I love it so far. Before rambling, I wanted to share how glad I am because of all the romantic routes the game offers. I've liked horror RPGs and dating simulators since my early teens, however, the stories I encountered never presented lesbian characters, or queer characters in general. It may sound silly to some people, but representation matters and makes things more enjoyable, at least for me. It should be appreciated that LGTS is unapologetically sapphic: Elise's preferences are known from the start, and the player gets more than one option for a girlfriend, too. I relish the plot's creepy elements while giggling about the romantic aspects of it, it feels unreal and I hope to see more games like this one in the future.
That being said, it's really sad to find negative reviews that critique the lesbian feature of the game. They call it disgusting, unnecessary and forced. Maybe I'm just emotional, but these comments affect me, I hate the way homophobia is everywhere and queer folks have to face it non-stop. This post is specifically about lesbophobia, tho. I wonder if the commenters that center on demanding a BL version of this game understand the harm they're causing. It can be seen as an innocent request, but the implications give me a headache. This happens every time a GL comes out and gets a little bit of fame, even though it's our TV shows that get cancelled, low views or not, and nasty observations. I'm aware it's not a competition, but I think the problems sapphics are having to deal with regarding the media are quite unique, and "fans" acting like GL is more boring than BL don't help, especially when they ask for mlm content under LGTS' publications.
In any case, I'll talk to my friends about the game, luckily it'll be successful. I also adore the fanarts published here, there's talented people in the fandom. Keep up the hard work, please!

細胞神曲 - Cell of Empireo is an RPGMaker horror game by Sharktale Factory! You can find an English Translation on YouTube here!! It has the full game with all of the endings, and the first five Records of the DLC! The game itself is playable in both Japanese and Korean.
If you'd like to play it with Machine Translation yourself, I have a tutorial here! Please be aware that MTL is hard to work with, and can be confusing. IF you choose to do this, there is a walkthrough on how to get the best ending here!
TLDR: You play as Haruki Atou, 28 year old detective! When his coworker, Eiji Shinano, goes missing, Atou tracks his last known location to the mysterious cult called the Empyrean Heaven Research Institute. Atou finds himself wrapped up in a situation far larger than expected, and discovers a lot about both the Institute and himself along the way!
This game has everything: it has gay people. It has religious imagery. There is a headless rat. There's a mad scientist who asks to hold hands. The Divine Comedy is everywhere. There is foreshadowing and lore EVERYWHERE and it is sooooo fascinating!!! Genuinely I love this game so so so much!! There is a reason I have been drawing it for (checks watch) almost a year nonstop.

There are so many terrible dads that I was able to run a 'Worst Dads' Poll and people had genuine debates, it was fantastic!!

Replaying Nancy Drew without Cheating - Part 9: Secret of Shadow Ranch

Loving this game is sooo diametrically opposed to who I am to my core (i.e. anti-horse girl), but I just CANNOT help myself. It’s so good. As a former Arizona gal myself, I am enamored with the setting, swept away by the romantic story of Frances Humber and Dirk Valentine’s forbidden love, and love staring a little too long at Dave’s sculpted ass at the chicken coop. I feel like this game is near perfect and I have very few complaints, despite the fact that I actually despise Shorty Thurmond with every fiber of my being. I haven’t hated a character this much since the days of yore, when Louis Chandler’s punchable face and droning voice haunted my nightmares. I have new nightmare fodder now - but I am very appreciative that at least it harkens back to The Shining, which is one of my favorite horror movies of all time.

Okay, the real question here: was I tempted to cheat playing this game? The answer is no. I am thinking that between DDI, which I recently finished, and SHA, because I have not felt the need to look up any hints, probably just indicates that these are games that I have re-played most often. There was not any moment where I wasn’t sure what I needed to do next; in fact, I’ve come to realize that not playing along with a walkthrough (which I frequently have done) really does you an injustice as a player. It removes the element of immersion, so now, I was actually able to follow the storyline and really appreciate how well-fleshed out the game is. It just FEELS like they put some time into this one, if that makes any sense. It is enough to make me overlook the fact that I am terrified of horses and would never be caught dead riding one solo through the desert in real life.
Here are my thoughts:
1. This was THE FIRST game with this new interface, and it brings a whole new feel to Nancy Drew. The screen is larger, you feel more like you ARE Nancy. With that, of course, came some issues that would eventually be worked out, such as needing to deliberately close your bag every single time you pulled something out of it...made it feel a bit clunky. However, the changes’ good definitely outweighs their bad, and it was fun to feel like I was part of the next generation of HerInteractive.
2. Anyone else wondering how there are so many sticks just laying around, considering the fact that there are no trees on the ranch, and hardly any trees in that desert at all? I’ve never thought of this before, but I think these people would probably be buying firewood in town irl, not just finding it hanging around the yard.

3. Dave is obviously hot, and I have thought this since my childhood, but TEX is a smokeshow. Damn, those deep, rugged voices get me every time (lest we forget my concerning childhood crush on Dexter Egan). Mary Yazzie is a lucky lady, especially since I am inferring from this poster that Tex is very well-endowed. Girth is definitely rife with sexual innuendo. Remember, I know nothing about horses, and some people are reading this and palming their faces, but this is head cannon for me now.

4. Shorty is probably the dumbest culprit ever. I knew it was him back in the day as soon as I saw his stupid maps. The constant beration over his underripe vegetables and the elusive chicken eggs only further drove my hatred for him (without hints in this playthrough - I got thrown out of the house THREE times for picking the wrong vegetables. THREE!!). Shorty’s refusal to do his own job, his gross bald head, the fact that I for some reason have to rely on him every single day for water, him and/or his bank robber friends leaving the key for Nancy to escape from the jail cell within 3 minutes of coming to...I could go on. He is as dumb as a stump.
5. The look on Dave’s and Tex’s faces in this scene is hilarious. We can all relate. Even though lamb ragout sounds really good and I would take it over a burger any day, I have a hard time agreeing when he says that Dave and Tex’s taste buds are as sophisticated as a sand flea’s. This man made me bake a cake myself while he stood at the stove, stiff as a taxidermied bear, stirring at nothing in a pot for 12 hours a day, so I have my doubts as to his talent in the kitchen. “I must confess the man has NO TALENT.”

6. LOVED Dry Creek. It was so creepy that I really did feel nervous whenever I had to go out there, as if the sense of isolation of that town was seeping into me through the screen. Very cool spot. Getting locked in that jail cell was super exciting gameplay too. I give Shorty shit for leaving that key on the hook there, but in this playthrough I definitely knocked the key off the wall and into the floor hole about 4 times before I finally remembered about lassoing the chair. Who’s the dumb one now??

7. This magnet puzzle made me want to kill myself. Ultimately, I just randomly put each piece in each spot until they locked in, since I never did see the pamphlet in Mary’s shop. I thought there would be a better explanation out there as to why the wood pieces are there the first 10ish times you open it, and disappear on the 11thish. Has any game ever just inexplicably taken pity on you like this before? I am trying to think about whether or not I have ever realized that the game does this, or if this is the first time, since every other time I would have solved it the first time I opened it by following a very explicit walkthrough. I do like finding these weird little quirks, which I would never have found if not for this initiative.

8. The WORST puzzle though, not because it was hard but because it was so fucking annoying, was the game inside of Cappy’s after you put in Frances’s cousin’s ring. I had 2 tokens going in, both of which I had gotten playing the original game making a series bad guys with the token from the roadrunner game, and they were quickly gone as I lost twice in a row. I then proceeded to have to go back and play that roadrunner game SEVEN MORE TIMES!! in order to get more tokens to win a game that was purely luck. OMFG. I now have all 3 levels of that roadrunner game memorized. I will likely never forget them. And honestly, cheating wouldn’t have even made this easier.
9. And finally, Dave’s shit-eating grin in this photo at the end of the game, as he watches a mysterious Nancy cloaked in a physically impossible shadow.

2023 'overview'
The standard end of year post of course!
This year has both breezed by and felt absolutely endless, personally at least, and i feel like i accomplished nothing(!), but still, here's a round up of some stuff i enjoyed!?
MOVIES: as ever as always! I'm writing this a bit in advance, but i've deffo seen less movies this year than i did last year, tho i believe that i did manage to get out to the cinema way more than usual (tho, tbh, most often on my lonesome i think). I think i've felt the most divided on them this year; i liked a lot of stuff very VERY much! i also have felt so SO bored with a lot more things. i think i talked about having like. a matrix moment last year, nothing like that this year, tho a lot more of being like, 'well yeah, of course', or finally being able to recognise what a shot is, lol. Regardless, here are the movies i probably loved the most this year:
aftersun: all i talked about jan thru feb, need to watch it again. it looks great, its both fun & heartbreaking, and you KNOW i love the found footage side of it all - especially when it addresses that even when you have footage of 'objective reality' you just really cant know it all operation avalanche: as w aftersun, this shit gets at like ALL my interests! OpAv isn't a perfect movie, and i think the more u know about the production/etc the more obvious that becomes [i genuinely WOULD love to see/know more about the version that really did have the mole/romance plotline integrated, but lbr, that doesnt really exist]. ANYWAY!! i do think this is such an exciting film to watch, especially the movie making sequences, and i think the feeling of it all comes across so truly iygm. also, obvs, bc i love conspiracies unfortch the dirties: im sorry there's so much MJ on this list, short tho it is! but hey, these really took over my life for a month there lol. i still havent listened to the commentary w the real film critic, but i truly find this to be an airtight movie, the found footage stuff is so well integrated, justifying everything while also calling all intent/'reality' into question.. i do think someone could spend forever with it - its also funny & miserable! what more could u want (watch my fancam please) my house walkthrough: i genuinely just really like this!! ive said it before, but i genuinely just find it such an exciting watch, the bts just makes it so much cooler - what's sicker than repetition Hon Noms: la confidential: heat walked so this could run ! thirst: so much fun, i love vampire lovers who hate each other beau is afraid: too long, but i really liked most of this, v funny black tower: great example of doing smth so cool w very little

sfultra!!!: sean L@TDF finally returns to talk about sci-fi books! sean is one of the few critics i'll always keep up with even when i dont agree w him, & this show has been a real treat all this year - the patreon stuff is great as well - its introduced me to a lot of new stuff & crit, and its been good to hear from him again. if u listen to any of these, listen to this shelved by genre: really good, tho often we have different interests - got me to read a fair few more books this year! im not a games guy, and im mad behind on fatt, so its super nice to get to hear some austin biweekly anyway, lol. twioat (as ever): i was a bit trepidatious about this season starting off, but it's been so much fun, the fellas really knocked it out of the park. i loved hearing from some guests that we havent heard from in ages. this season on AJLT was also fuckin amazing, truly & really adored their coverage; possibly highlight of my summer?? toxic podcast: i almost certainly shouted this out last year, but it was nice to have this around again in the top half of the year!! ale has a letterboxd now & its fun to get to see just how many truly atrocious horror movies he does watch all the time. a true connoisseur

ntbts: its a such good show!! i've watched more tv than usual this year, but i love how this is done on almost every level. i apologised before for having so much MJ on this list & i stand by that!, but i do think that one of the best (practical) traits in his work is making difficult stuff look not only easy, but genuinely both fun & achievable. whens the movie going to drop??? (lol) getting into shirts: this genuinely was more of an accidental year long thing, starting w the ones i printed for lizzie back in jan/feb, but its been fun! finally got back some screenprinting experience, and i think u can really see some amping up of ambition & basic skill/practice. i do wanna do more in the new year, but am trying to engage with actual intended outcomes (and lbr, the storage issue lol), so we'll see
the sopranos!!: sometimes they really were right about good tv being good, who knew! so much funnier, weirder & depressing than i wouldve expected- honestly undersung at this point. also, it introduced me to a tonne of music lol
the blackberry soundtrack: unfortch i continue to be kinda mixed on the film, as much as i think on a technical level it's so super cool & well-made. i do really like the soundtrack tho!! i'm kinda iffy on some of its application in the actual film, but im a hater, so what can u do lol. the actual thing DOES rip tho

there was a lot of work i didnt get finished.. i have stuff ive been meaning to edition since this time last year that i still havent gone back to.. that said, i think i did get some stuff done, finally actually did some stone litho(!!!!) & had some stuff up in a show or two
who knows,,, maybe ill finally get my shit together & 2024 could be my year - people say good things about being 26 right??? 😭😭😭

oh you wanna hear me talk about scorn? i'll talk about scorn (mild spoiler warning)
scorn is a fucking incredible game. the visuals and art design are gorgeous and exactly my level of fucked up. absolutely astounding visuals. while i love indie games and don't think games need to have good graphics to be good games, it's certainly something to see such a disgusting (complimentary) world in such high quality. nearly everyone agrees on this and the ones who don't just call people freaks for liking it.
everyone blows the "combat issues" out of proportion. sure, i can see how it would be bad if you had to fight all the time, but the thing is you don't have to. it's discouraged. in my opinion, the first step is letting the creatures move out of the way while staying back a little. the second step, if the first one fails, is running away. the last resort is fighting, and often it fails. i briefly got pretty good at the combat before realizing i could just run away from most of the creatures.
but less than smooth combat is a staple of survival horror! while scorn may not be traditional survival horror, it does have some of those elements (just as it has some puzzle elements without being a full on puzzle game).
the puzzles were fine. i'm gonna be honest i looked up walkthroughs for most of them because i'm terrible at puzzles in games despite thinking the genre can be amazing but i didn't feel like it detracted from my experience. however, that doesn't mean that i would have preferred an absence of puzzles. i enjoyed their presence and didn't mind them, though in some cases they could have been better integrated into the world. but that's not a major complaint.
i do think the boss battle is definitely the weakest part of the whole thing. it was a little too long for my taste and the fact that i had to do it, albeit a shorter version, again was annoying. however, it made up for it quickly with some wonderful body horror and narrative. the last few moments of the game were some of the strongest.
speaking of the narrative, holy shit. scorn is so different to every other game you can find, and the way the narrative is presented is no different in that regard. i thoroughly enjoyed it. the wordless storytelling was such a breath of fresh air. too many games these days (and older ones too--thinking of you, alan wake) overexplain every single aspect. it was wonderful to have a game tell you nothing and show you everything you need to be shown. i don't think every game needs to be wordless, and despite my near-constant bitching about cinematic games (and fucking david cage), i don't have a major problem with cinematic games. i do think some just want to be films and don't do enough to be games except drag the story on further than you want them to, but cinematic games are. fine. games with words are also great, you can't just separate "games with words" into its own category. but there's something to be said about how scorn presents itself to you. there's something to be said about how it's on you to observe and interpret and figure things out. a lot of games don't want you to figure them out. they want you to follow the objective markers and watch the next cutscene. it gets tiring, and i don't even play that many games like that nowadays. scorn uses its medium to its advantage.
people have said it's a walking simulator. (bizarrely they've also said the combat was added to stop people calling it a walking simulator. cause that makes sense.) it is not a walking simulator. it has puzzles. it has combat. the story isn't happening at you, you're part of the story.
and personally i love the story. the dynamic between scornguy and the parasite is so compelling to me, and i do think the ending was perfect. the alternative would have felt much cheaper and unearned to me. and i do love tragedy.
lastly, i don't understand how people actually want a sequel or dlc. did you see that ending. did you understand the themes. what do you think they'll add?? a different ending if you pay 15.99? new guns for 9.99? the "loads of cut content" (there isn't that much--the artbook mostly shows concept art and there are two cut areas, only one of which was cut due to time and financial constraints) for 29.99, messing up the pacing entirely? because it's a well paced game, with a few exceptions.
it's not a perfect game, but which game is? and it's not my favorite game of all time or anything, but it's definitely a memorable experience. i wanna recommend it to people but also i know i shouldn't. please play scorn if you like weird fleshy games. pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease

Okay so since the eshop is shutting down and all that I decided to take a look at what freeware I could download and found the joys of the rpg maker fes player- it's nothing phenomenal but I'm having fun, found a bunch of unfinished games but also at least one with a very satisfying puzzle and one that's literally horse plinko, it's bite sized fun but still a wonder to explore for me
Imagine my surprise though when I look through the horror tag and find
OK SO the real reason I'm making this isn't because I wanna opinionate on these projects clearly made just for fun it's simply that I am stumped on the first puzzle specifically from the zero escape inspired game and it's really eating at me wether I'm missing something or if it's just troublesome to figure out and these hardly ever have walkthroughs online this one definitely doesn't and I wanna share this fever dream and if anyone could help I'd like idk thank you a lot ?????????

Project Kat - Paper Lily Prologue Guide
I plan to put out a lot of RPG horror guides since those are my favorite types of games but I wanted to start out small and sweet with Project Kat since its short and really good, please try it out for free on Steam!

Project Kat - Paper Lily Prologue Achievements (10/10)
There will be a few times where you need to reload a save here, those will be marked like : SAVE when you have to load a save it'll be marked like : LOAD SAVE Going to try to make this similar to a walkthrough so it isn't too confusing.
Goodbye Little Bird
Pick up the flower and put the flower in the empty vase
RESTART YOUR GAME
There Is Always Another Way
Open the gate and walk past the flower don't pick it up and find the vases. Touch each vase with a flower in it two times and remove the flowers then interact with the door to continue.
Geography
Select the ritual notes and pick up the chalk from the blackboard. Spam interact with the globe until the achievement pops.
Dead End
Go to the 3-A and sort the desks, when you finish grab the scissors off the table. Grab the dusty hairpin from the second desk in the bottom row then close all the curtains. Grab the chalk from the bookshelf since chalk is important just grab all of the ones you find. Cut your hair with the scissors and go to the room with three girls in it to use the scissors on the box. Select the weird C then go to 3-B and sort the desks , close curtains, etc etc. Go SAVE in the room with the girls. Go left down the corridor and interact with the door until you can select Yes, this is scary to get this achievement.
Click
LOAD THE FIRST SAVE Go to the theater club room and pick the lock (you need to successfully complete the minigame).
Party Up
LOAD THE FIRST SAVE Stop by the theater room again then return to the room with the girls, when you get the option select Alright, I'll do it. then go to 3-C sort the desks and close the curtains. Interact with the fourth chair on the top row to collect a red notebook (dont read it). Give the notebook to the girl with a ponytail and go back to the theater room, move the curtains on the blackboard and take the curtain on the right.
SECOND SAVE and give the key to the girl with a ponytail. Talk to all of the girls then turn the radio on then talk to the Pretty Girl until she says you're alright and are her friend. Talk to the other two girls and sit with them at the table.
The Golden Letter
LOAD SECOND SAVE Go to 3-B and put the curtain on the window then go to each classroom and select the chalk in your inventory. In 3-B use the candles and lighter on both rows of chairs then go back to the room with the girls. Find the golden envelope in the drawers to read the rules of the ritual.
I Watch You
Use your scissors on the boxes in the theater room and read the letter.
Now You've Done it
Go to 3-B and burn your hair with one of the candles.
The End
Touch the doors and items over and over until Kat says That's strange. Go left until the hallway extends Grab the key on the hook and go upstairs, use the key on the door. Follow the linear path to see one of Kat's memories. Interact with the window and you'll see a red sky and black hands. Go forward until you are back in the earlier hallway to find one of the locked doors is now open. Follow the blood then interact with the door and move away from it.

Bendy and the Dark Revival Playthrough Thoughts:
Imma post my raw dog thoughts on Bendy and the Dark Revival as I play (currently in chapter 1), I shall bury the spoilers so continue at your own risk, I will also be completely honest about my opinions on everything, my qualifications are my 100% achievement score for Bendy and the Ink Machine and a deep adoration for the entire Bioshock series (yes, this is relevant)
Okay, here we go:
- first impression, hand animations are a lil weird but I can get past it
- Audrey is adorable, her winged liner is pretty thicc
- I knew a jumpscare was coming in that hallway but did it stop me from screaming? no.
- "Who put this here?" YESSIR LOVE THAT THROWBACK THANK YOU
- ALSO after coming back for the key you get a nice view of the signed photo of Bendy from Henry 🥺 So cute I can't even
- cut to me continuously ramming my body into the first Boris the Wolf poster throughout different points in the walkthrough area because I was looking for Meatly... (he was not there 😭)
-I hate Wilson, as a character, and I'm confused at his importance. But I also hate him as a person, as he makes me v uncomfortable (well done on that part)
- ahhh yes, the Ink Machine activation. I wish it wasn't so similar, maybe the podiums set up in different areas of the museum room like exhibits would have been a nice recollection without being exactly the same
- ohohoh, is that a Bioshock Infinite baptism I see? And a title screen eerily similar to the Bioshock logo. Not complaining really, I honestly miss the feeling of Rapture
•∆ Entering Chapter 1 ∆•
- PIPER I KNEW YOU WERE THERE AND YET??? SCARY
- Alice could have explained a bit more, I also feel like there's a lot of things I need to explore but can't yet, I love exploration and collection
- Gent Pipe is coming back and we gotta hide from these squishy men, so far so good. Really enjoying the new hiding mechanics, feels much more like a classic horror game, more immersive and anxiety building
- these ink men and women are getting rekt, cool that you can loot from their bodies
- puzzles BAYBEEE gotta love em, the first one is pretty easy to find but it almost feels like there's more to see there later?
- ooo we have another Bioshock-esque gameplay tool, sending ink creatures back to the ink puddles, like removing the adam from little sisters. Not sure if it will have an impact on ending or anything like that, but it adds a nice choice to more sneaky routes than head on aproaches
- I don't know what I expected but mr.hang-in-there editor made me feel more uncomfortable than I thought it would lmao
- BABY BENDY 😭 he's soooo cute and his LIL ANIMATED FACES!!!! i can't believe he was just chillin there all smol and adorable
- Audrey gotta be careful with that power she hurt the baby 🥺
- "do not knock" audrey: hmm .... this won't stop me, I can't read
- not the Ink Demon appearing and TALKING???? HELLO??? SIR?? 🥵🤒

- his new form is SICK, I LOVE the glove/white animation spots peaking through the ink, the multi horns, ugh so cool I want a better look 😩
•∆ Entering Chapter 2 ∆•
- Ink Demon: "You were born from it", me: "MOLDED BY IT!"
- I no longer enjoy the hiding mechanic because I am now more scared
-OOOH it tells me when he's coming, that I enjoy, thank the lord 😩✋
- I like these lil drawings mr. no-knock did, they're so cute! I think the Ink Demon likes em too that's why he's angry I'm collecting em 😮‍💨
- me after collecting the fifth drawing: damn he MAD mad he wanted those sketches bad 😳
- bro mr. no-knock attacking me after collecting his shit is NOT the vibe how DARE you sir
- the ink demon literally was about to attack me when I was writing that last thought, I thought I was about to have a break but NOPE not only did I almost die I almost pissed myself that was TERRIFYING
- I am now constantly on edge and I feel like mr. ink demon is coming for me at any second
- good news I haven't died yet, bad news my heart rate is goin NUTS
- second puzzle, finished, and Ink Demon only visited once! Yay!

- audrey: *crackin open this big ass spotlit box*; me: no no no no no; box: scary ass shy-guy-esque lady; me: noooo no no no...; audrey: *turns away to hide in barrel, turns back and box is empty*; me: NOOOOOOO THANK YOUUUUUU
- dude F*CK THAT GHOST B*TCH she scared my entire TIT off and made me slam my knee into my desk WTF is that 😭
- I survived the shy-guy-lady, thank the lord, but I had to run like hell and murder the lost ones in the area. I hope I grabbed all the collectables 😭
- Winnie the Porter stuck in the pipe is pretty adorable and I love him
- down the rabbit hole we go, I guess!
- NOT PORTER RENAMING ME 😭 AND A GIFT!
- oh my gosh I was thinking the glowing hand reminded me of Dishonored and now we can fuggin SHIFT just like Dishonored, love that
- the menus looked pretty familiar too, now I can't help but see little Dishonored pockets everywhere
- dude so many squishy lost ones how am I supposed to deal, I have realized I should not have eaten every snack I came across before 😭
