I’ve been seeing a bunch of people being upset that Ahsoka isn’t the snippy, chipper person she was in the clone wars. Y’all, this woman has been THROUGH IT. She was a child soldier in a pointless war, expelled from the Jedi Order and left, found out Anakin became Darth Vader and killed kids, Padmé died, she helped bury half the 501st - need I continue? She’s lived through two wars and has lost so many people. Of course she’s not going to be who she was. I don’t think anyone with that amount of trauma could go back to the way they were. Rebels Ahsoka is a lot like current Ahsoka: no jokes, no come backs, she was just there to help in anyway she could. Also she’s 45 in the current timeline! She’s a lot older but I’m sure as the series progresses there will be a positive shift in her personality. Either way, cut the gal some slack! I’m loving the series and Tuesday can’t come soon enough 💙
I love heartbreak high because the characters feel so real
Like everyone feels like a true flawed person and same goes for dynamics between them
I’ll be cheering them on one moment and calling them an asshole in the next and sometimes 2 people are so cute together but then I see them being toxic and it’s all so dynamic and complex
Seeing trailers I have a feeling (or I at least hope) that in making a point to glam up Mon Mothma a bit, the Andor series will juxtapose how wealth is woven into her role as a senator of the republic with the way wealth encourages the empire’s obliviousness and arrogance, like Cassian referenced.
At this point, she hasn’t shown up yet. But she’s is partially playing a role, keeping up appearances. We also see Luthen dressing up in the trailers (even if it’s just a disguise). Still it makes me think about how that will impact Cassian’s interactions since he already spoke of the empire with disgust, and his supposed allies resemble them in this way.
Cassian who came from a planet with children who foraged clothes, stuffed rags in boots so they could fit, and created resources with what they had.
There’s a socioeconomic gap of course. Not to mention the racial difference which also plays into Mon Mothma and Luthen’s privilege. So I hope Andor continues to build upon that as well as the privilege inherent in politics, especially when you have someone who claims they fight on your behalf in secret but has a very clear class difference.
RIP Annabeth, I just know Percy sacrificing himself for you, after knowing you for a week, after telling you that you’ve done more for him this week than his father ever has, is permanently altering the brain chemistry of your avoidant attachment self
Begging swifties to understand that Taylor didn’t write reputation and Lover with the knowledge of how the relationship was going to end and that trying to “excavate” those albums for evidence to prove a specific theory as to why it ended is not how they should be viewed. Taylor wrote those songs feeling a very specific way because that’s what she was experiencing and she is now reflecting on them with hindsight and relates to them differently than when she first created them. These conflicting emotions can exist; how she views it now doesn’t diminish how she felt about it when she first released it.
I just finished rewatching ATLA and I have to say…
Absolutely insane to me that people were insisting that Azula not getting a redemption was “misogynistic” and some kind of writing mistake. The girl told her dad to commit mass genocide.
Echidna essentially saying “You killed my children, now they’re going to kill you” is so wild because the trio’s response is like “bitch we’re ALSO children????” meanwhile, Athena immediately went “NOT IF I KILL THEM FIRST” and that’s so fucked up but also so funny
one thing that drives me absolutely insane is that ive seen so many comments talking about how tvpjo!annabeth isnt their annabeth bc shes not tan and blonde but i dont see people complaining about literally anyone else!! there are SO FEW characters if at all that stay faithful to their book descriptions! luke isnt a blonde guy, percy doesnt have black hair and green eyes, grover doesnt have a rasta cap on, chirons horse end is black not white, echidna is NOTTT supposed to be a conventionally attractive older woman i could keep GOING.
at the end of the day these people are portraying these characters essences incredibly, and this tv series is by far one of the best adaptations ive ever seen of any popular book. to take that for granted and complain because of different hair and skin, especially singling out ONE twelve year old girl is so childish and frankly! disgusting.
