Final Fantasy VIII has two option scenes that are actually canon

In Disc 2, it's not required for the player to put Rinoa in Squall's team to Balamb Garden. Instead, you can choose to send her with Selphie's team to the Galbadia Missile Base (which I've already discussed in my previous post).

If you choose to put Rinoa in Squall's team — which, as I stated before, a lot of walkthroughs on YouTube tend to do — there's an FMV of her being mesmerized by the view outside after Garden becomes mobile and she turns around to smile at Squall:

This FMV still appears during Squall's hallucinations in the ending FMV, even if you chose to put Rinoa in Selphie's team:

During the ending FMV, it doesn't make sense for Squall to try to recall this memory of Rinoa smiling at him when Garden became mobile, unless you chose to put her in his party to Balamb Garden.

Thus, choosing to put Rinoa in Squall's party, and, as such, viewing the FMV of her admiring the view, is the canon choice, because it matches up with the ending FMV.

Later on in Disc 2, you can choose for Squall and Rinoa to have a good date or a bad date at the Garden Festival in Fishermans Horizon.

The good date happens when the party plays Irish Jig/Let's Dance.

The bad date happens when the party 1) plays Eyes on Me/Maybe Yes, Maybe No, 2) mixes up the scores with two instruments each, or 3) mixes up the scores with three instruments from one piece and one instrument from the other piece.

During the bad date, Squall and Rinoa don't have a conversation about the future. Instead, she gets angry with him because she can tell he's not being sincere in his "effort" to trust the party more often, and she leaves in a huff (#1):

Or, he walks away and rejects her, and she leaves in disappointment (#2 and #3):

However, during the good date, Squall and Rinoa do have a conversation about how there are no guarantees in the future, and they find that they have something in common — they would prefer to not talk nor think about the future:

Fast-forward to the romance scene in the Ragnarok in Disc 3. Squall tells Rinoa that no one can predict the future and there are no guarantees, and reminds her that those were her words.

Squall's dialogue still happens during the Ragnarok scene, even if you chose for him and Rinoa to have the bad date:

During the Ragnarok scene, it doesn't make sense for Squall to directly reference Rinoa's words about the future not being guaranteed, unless you chose for them to have the good date.

Thus, choosing for Squall and Rinoa to have the good date at the Garden Festival is the canon choice, because it matches up with his dialogue in the Ragnarok.

TL;DR: Whether you like the couple or not (I'm aware that Squinoa is still considered divisive in some parts of the fandom, mainly the Western fandom), it's better to let their relationship progress in a positive way — by choosing to put Rinoa in Squall's party to Balamb Garden and choosing for them to have the good date at the Garden Festival in Fishermans Horizon — because both options correlate with canon events and dialogue later on in the game.

Been thinking and..

It'd be fun to do book commissions right? Where instead of just one shots we could make a story together that basically YOU make up and I just write. You can whatever you want however you want it if you pay.

Considering I'll need the money for when I rehabilitate further I love dough but even when I do eventually heal I'll still do commissions. Usually I fold to do requests just to get more attention but I'm gonna stand my ground this time.

So if interested in working with me for multiple periods of time just to get the story done then come and chat with me.

Prices would be based off my commission sheet already but to give a few examples of how I see this going lets say you want a 10 chapter story with 500 words each chapter. By the end of the book (chapter ten) that'll be 5,000 words which in total for what it is the whole book would cost $50.

Example 2:

10 chapter story with 5,000 words each would be $550.

Basically I'm doing my current prices by ten for these examples so you all should do that too when picking word count AND chapters. I'll allow up to 30 chapters though depending on circumstances and such this could be a monthly between me and you, the buyer.

More Examples:

5,000 words per chapter for a 20 chapter book would equal $1,100 by the end of the book.

5,000 words per chapter for a 30 chapter book would equal $1,650

Now I'm only going to say this once! If you don't have the money either wait till you do or find someone who will help accommodate you. I wish you luck on that.

You can set the timing!!

Granted at minimum these can be done by a month but be prepared for bigger orders to take just a bit more time than the smaller ones. With that said bigger stories could take longer than just a month but it all depends of course on how I'm feeling, the story we're making, characters, etc etc. Honestly you can keep up with me at any point and time and check in on the progress of things whenever you want.

I only take cash up front and before I start new chapters so you'll pay for the first, I'll show it to you when I'm done with it and if you want to continue you'll go ahead and pay for the next chapter and we can repeat that process. For people big banking though you could pay it all up front and I'll do everything without waiting on anything.

You can also post your story on your OWN account as long as you mention me (@ me) so people can find my account. Either you'll post it or I will and I'll mention you in the story as the one who paid for it. Either way is fine.

A lot of this stuff will take communication and adjusting, especially since this is my first time taking a step like this but if you all are willing to be patient with me I promise I'll make your story as perfect to you as I can.

My Games of the Week #4 - Character Action Games

My Games of the Week are Character Action games! We're gonna mix things up a bit, and I'm gonna briefly showcase games I consider to be part of the Character Action genre. The list of games in this thread is not ordered. 1/30 (Sorry, it's a long one.)

So what is Character Action? This term was made by the culture surrounded by various games, so it's open to interpretation. Generally speakng, it involves playing as one character in an action game with a wide variety of tools, allowing the player to express themselves within a game's combat. Some alternative names for this game include Hack and Slash, Beat 'em Up, and Spectacle Fighter. 2/30

The character's actions reflect the player's decision, rather than limiting what the player is capable of doing. The most common comparison would be a single player fighting game. Some characters/tools suit the player better than others, and how you like to play is prioritized. Player expression is key! 3/30

Let's start with the king of character action, Devil May Cry! DMC3 is a great example of creativity through limitation. That limit being only using two weapons and one style at a time. What you choose to use, unlock, and upgrade is your choice. Experimentation and creativity are vital for obtaining stylish ranks and more currency. Spamming stinger works too, of course. 4/30

My personal fave game, DMC5, does away with all limitations and lets you do anything. Equip all 4 weapons, and switch between all 4 styles seamlessly, allowing for some of the craziest combos in all of gaming. Not to mention, 3 characters that play differently, and require different kinds of creativity and decision making for reaching maximum style. Oh yeah, and V is there too for some reason. 5/30

Now for classic God of War (2005-2013). Combo variety, buying and upgrading what you like, decision making, and some amazing spectacle. In fact, the first boss of GOW is one of my favorite bosses of all time. The game focuses on using the right moves at the right time, rather a style ranking. 6/30

Instead, your incremental combo counter increases per hit, so it's a different kind of decision making. Where GOW1 and 2's variety lies in different Blades of Chaos moves and magic usage, GOW3 actually has new weapons and even "item" weapons like a bow and arrow. 7/30

Bayonetta is a name you've heard of by now. This game is a as over-the-top as they come, through visual presentation and combat! Each weapon plays pretty identically, so the variety comes in the combos. Two attack buttons, but the order and timing of each press allows for hundreds of combo variations. I'm not very good at this one, but even casual fans can enjoy button mashing splendor! 8/30

Let's continue on the Platinum Games train and look at The Wonderful 101. What if Pikmin could turn into weapons? You "draw" the shape of the weapon with the right stick to equip it, and hack and slash away! Very unique presentation as well. Can't say I've played anything like this before. 9/30

If you're into meme culture, you've defintely seen MGR: Revengeance before. Not only is the writing and acting fantastic, but the acion is some of the best in the genre. By holding L2, you enter Blade Mode, and can carefully aim your sword to slice away your enemies. You can even rip out their robot spines to refill health and meter! So freaking cool. 10/30

Next up is a more recent title, FF16! Regardless what genre you consider this game, the combat lines up prefectly with character action predecceors. Mixing and matching Eikon abilites to create a build suited for your playstyle, and some incredibly unique combos! Not to mention several dozen of hours of content longer than most games on this list. 11/30

Our last Platinum/Square title, the Nier series! While Replicant and Automata have their own variety of action (as well as the best narratives in gaming), so does its less-known prequel series, Drakengard. Drakengard 3 in particular has some pretty neat action and variety in combat. Not to mention, the wiritng is insane - play the game, you'll see what I mean. If you haven't played Nier: Automata yet, what kind of gamer are you? 12/30

One of the more underappreciated games in the genre, Ninja Gaiden 2 (2008)! A massive improvement over the first, having some of the craziest action I've seen. A unique dismemberment mechanic, rage mode, weapon variety, and well spaced shops. I was able to upgrade every weapon by the time it ended! So much combat variety and look cool while doing it. I plan to revisit this game soon since my memory's a tad fuzzy on this one. 13/30

No More Heroes may be lacking in terms of variety, but the action, style, and spectacle is all there. Very satisfying action combat with a fantistic script to enjoy with it. Each game in the trilogy is worth a shot, and is on all modern platforms! 14/30

Remember Dante's Inferno? If not, think of it as your usual God of War ripoff, except it's actually good. It was even made by Visceral games, the original devs of Dead Space! Dante (no, not that Dante) only has one weapon, so his variety comes from combo and magic moves he can unlock, and perk-granting equippable relics. 15/30

When you finish an enemy, you can either absolve or kill them to gain holy and unholy spirits. You can level up your holy and unholy level by getting their respective souls, each level unlocking abilities that you can purchase. The two soul types combine into one collective soul currency which you use to buy these abilities. An interesting take on the skill tree system! 16/30

A very solid character action game with enough room for player expression. Although, since it is so similar to other games, I would only recommend it if you can't get enough of this gameplay. It's good but not a must-play. 17/30

Next up is Hi-Fi Rush! A rhytmic take on the genre where you time your actions to the beat for more damage and style. Like before, you decide whaat moves, supers, and perks to buy. You also have character assists like a fighting game. 18/30

Not to mention the refreshing cel-shaded visuals, striking character designs, and great characters and writing. You not only express yourself with the combat, but through the music as well! You can use your free trial on Game Pass to check it out. 19/30

Now for the real interesting stuff, indie games. First up is Genokids, an upcoming game where you switch between 4 characters, who play differently, on the fly. Sort of a mix of DMC and Kingdom Hearts combat. A free demo is out now! 20/30

Slave Zero X has retro fighting game pixel art mixed with low poly 3D backgrounds. It sort of plays like a hack and slash and fighting game mashup, even with familiar mechanics such as Supers and Bursts! Once again, a demo is out now. 21/30

Sifu might not look as spectacular as the other games, but boy does this game have all sorts of meele combos. It's based on martial arts, meaning mixing up high and low attacks, and using the enviornment. I'll admit I'm not very good at this one, but it's a unique action game nonetheless. 22/30

For our last game, Furi. This is another unique case, as it's more of a boss rush kind of game, where you memorize boss patterns. I would say expression comes with how you dodge the bullet hell phase, and parry the melee phase. Although things can get hard real quick, it has plenty of options to make things easier. 23/30

The recent DLC pack adds a new characters that essentially functions as a stance character, those being "fast and agile" and "slow but lethal." Switching between stances sounds pretty expressive to me! 24/30

Here's a quick-fire list about games I didn't cover: Assault Spy, God Hand, Asura's Wrath, Viewtiful Joe, Streets of Rage 4, Madworld (Wii), Transformers: Devestation, Kingdom Hearts, and pretty much the entire Warriors series (Dynasty, Hyrule, Psersnoa). 25/30

That's the end of my list, but I wanna give you one more thought. The Character Action subgenre is rather young, and what does and doesn't qualify a game for this genre is pretty much subjective. There's consensus opinions, such as combos and spectacle, but a game is usually determined "Character Action" by it's community. 26/30

A final game I wanna share is Vanquish, a cover-based third personn shooter. Who made the game, however? Why, none other than Platinum, whose games have utterly dominated this list. In this game, you can rocket-boost slide from cover to cover, and pick up new guns on the fly. Would the guns you equip and how you use them also qualify as Character Action? 27/30

One of my favorite games of all time also gets me thinking about this genre, that being DOOM Eternal. Each enemy has a weakness, and you use the environment and your platforming skills to dispatch enemies effectively. However, how you do so is up to you, as the situation dynamically changes and one strategy won't always work. While mostly considered an FPS game, there is still plenty of player expression within this combat loop. 28/30

So as you can see, while characters and action are in plenty of games, what makes a Character Action game in my opinion is if the character is a function for the player to express themselves. It doesn't necessarily need to be in the hack and slash genre. 29/30

There are plenty more examples, but we don't got all day, so don't consider this a definitive list. Go and do your own research, and share some other character action games! 30/30

Shopping with the Sinclair brothers

Made this post and instantly had to add to it, hope everyone loves the Sinclair brothers doing domestic things.

BO SINCLAIR 🚙🚬🔧

- The type of guy to run to those shops that are like at the end of closing and the workers all probably hate him now. He also has the mindset to only to get like 1 thing walking in but than when he walks out with hes carring 20 various things he knows he will never ever use.

- He can't help himself but also admires the gun section, EVERY TIME! Even if he knows he can't buy one hell still just look at them, a devilish smirk on his face until you come along and drag him away.

- Okay bare with me on this one but... I 100% agree with the thought that Bo had definitely fucking shoplifted before, rather when he was young or in his teens or even now he does it. "Aw, we don't have enough money to afford this" Don't worry Bo's pockets come in handy, he'll snag it like nothing ever happened and show you later. (He probably also thinks he's the shoplifting God 😭)

- He also is the mum kind of person, the one to knows what to buy for his family (Aka his brothers) He'll say he knows it all but in reality, he's only buying junk food and microwave food. You bet your ass you'll look into the cart only to see the only greens he brought was a small ass can of corn. He's very proud of himself

- With how frequently shops give out deals and try to bring customers in with their "Oustanding low prices" You know Bo falls for them every time, mainly because they always advertise on TV and considering Bo is always on his ass watching TV. "But they said it was only 1 per cen' off" (Gets mad when he realises that they baited him in)

- He also can't help but maybe have a slight peak into the sex aisle, he'll say to you he forgot something before going to have a look. He'll probably come back with lube tbh, saying how you guys ran out but you know there's a whole fucking drawer back at home full of lube.

- Bo isn't the type to stay close to you but sometimes he'll be there, either with an arm wrapped around you as he watches you pick stuff out. He's not afraid either to give you a kiss here and there, I mean when your down on the opposite side of the store where no one is around he's definitely all handsy and touchy. Until you tell him to knock it off, that man is disappointed when you don't let him have sex with you in the middle of the fucking shop.

- (Trust me I would be fucking angry too at him, mf is horny in the middle of the shop when you're trying to ignore him. He's like a rabbit in heat, you also bet your ass he doesn't dream about fucking you in the shops too, just don't ask him though because he will literally not care if there's someone there)

- And yes Bo will spend 30 minutes in the alcohol section browsing the aisle, even though he knows what he wants and that he's just going to get the same shit over and over again. (After that does he get 5 packs of all the same brand)

- Also he is definitely ramming into the back of you at full speed if you allow him to push the shopping cart, sorry not sorry

VINCENT SINCLAIR🕯🎨🎭

- Vincent is a little bit shyer when it comes to shopping and going out, if it means leaving Ambrose he's not going. Well it depends, I mean you could probably convince him if your gonna go after midnight or before, considering no one is going to be around, but any other time he's not going.

- Vincent is calmer and collected over what he's doing, he organises the cart and stays close to you. Unlike Bo

- You know Vincent loves to check out the candle aisle, looking at all the different colours and scents. He can't help but pick 1 or 2 to get, I mean have you seen some of those scents (Tbh I would encourage him to get more) Even if the candles don't really work in his room, he loves to put some around the house you know. When you're watching a movie together or just having a romantic bath, he loves to go all out for you.

- Considering most people look at Vincent as the cook for the house, you know that man came prepared with a mental list or a paper list he made. This time getting the things you 'Actually' need, such as lots of fruit and vegetables, but still an unhealthy amount of junk food. Also lots of juice, much to Bo's request.

- He also can't help but like do that thing when the person wraps their arms around the person pushing the cart (Kinda like a hug from the back), he's so romantic!! UGHHHHH

- Lester loves shopping don't get me wrong but with his tight schedule, mainly consisting of him having to do the roadkill work. He doesn't have time to get groceries so much (Maybe that's the reason why he loves going over to Bo and Vincent's house 👀) But when you came along he trusts you to go shopping alone, or either with Bo or your friends. He knows that he doesn't get home till sunset and around that time he's tired and exhausted and doesn't wanna go out.

- Another guy whos all for going shopping either after midnight or before, so he can have a quick nap when he gets home before leaving with you, he probably hasn't even heard of 24-hour shops before. He acts so surprised when you say that there are

- Lester is much like Bo, he has a list of like 5-10 things he needs and he walks out carrying the most random and useless shit ever, only because they looked cool or the design of them. So yes he has brought a thing only because it looked cool, and more than once.

- OKAY BUT LIKE HEAR ME OUT! LESTER ABSOLUTELY LOVES THE PET SECTION. He's grabbing things from left to right and throwing them into the cart, I would not lie to you when I say he has to buy at least 1-5 things for Jonsey whenever he goes shopping, it's always toys or treats.

- He mostly buys wherever, to be honest, for example, he knows what's healthy and not and he knows that he wants you to be healthy so he probably lets you handle most of the food. Whatever you get he's happy, so if your the cook of the house expect Lester to just agree with what your getting, I mean your the boss to him.

- He is also staring at the guns too, but mostly staring at the knives (Hunting knives, Pocket knives, etc). They look so shiny and beautiful. and considering I guess they don't cost much, he'll ask you for approval before asking one of the employees to unlock the case it's in.

- Also gets himself lost a concerning amount of times, he needs a leash I swear, for example, you could be looking away for one second and when you turn your head he's gone. They probably have one of the employees talk over the speaker and yell out your name to come to get Lester.

Thanks, Tumblr. What I really need is a reminder of how bad this year was for me.

Okay, let's see the damage report.

So, right away, a little under a third from the previous like two years. Gee, wonder what kidney could have caused such a drop in productivity rates.

At first I was like, wait, wouldn't that mean I used an average of about 3.5 tags per post? That seems highly inaccurate. Then I remember it's not counting all the tags I use repeatedly. Caught ~ Professor Lupin

AHHH!! This is my first time writing and I'm so scared to post this because it might be awful. This is my first imagine and it's quite short but I hope you like it and please tell me if I need to fix anything. Also, I didn't know what to title to put so I just wrote the first thing that came to my mind. Have a good day!

Summary: You were dancing with Remus when someone walks in

Warnings: smut references, fluff

Rain softly hitting the windows music softly playing in the background from Remus' gramophone . You turned your head a little to look at the Lycanthropy that's in your arms with his head resting on your shoulder, eyes closed while softly humming the song.

You two have been slow dancing for the past 30 minutes. The full moon was close closer than Remus wanted it to be. Remus wanted to slow dance to forget about everything he would have to go through in a couple of days. You and Remus have been together for a couple of months now so you knew everything about him.

You were always there after a full moon to help sooth Remus' aching muscles and to make sure he ate. You cared about him so much and you knew he cared about you as well but neither of you have used the "L" word before. You two are so lost in your own world that you don't hear the door opening.

"Here's your Wolfsbane potion Lupin" said a cold snarky voice

You and Remus stopped dancing and separated the second you heard the voice. When you two saw it was Professor Snape you looked down at your feet, your whole being starting to get red from embarrassment, not that you were embarrassed of Remus.

You were also very angry at yourself for letting someone find out. You both had been so careful in keeping your relationship a secret and now it was all over for you two. You and Remus were so scared of what was going to happen both of your hearts beating at 100 miles per hour. You didn't want Remus to lose his job and probably get thrown into Azkaban.

Remus started getting mad at himself for allowing you two to get caught. Remus was afraid for your education; he wanted you to do good in school. He cared so much about your education.

"Severus-" Remus started to say but was cut off by the potions professor

Severus let out a long sigh "I don't have time for this Lupin. I have a terrible headache just take your wolfsbane potion" Snape put the potion on a desk and turned around on his heel and took out his wand

"Obliviate" Snape said while pointing his wand at his head and walked out closing the door behind him

You and Remus were so relieved that Snape wouldn't say anything to anyone and you can continue your relationship. You looked at Remus, finding him already staring at you. You both had big dumb smiles splattered across both of your faces. You jumped into Remus' arms, he picked you up and kissed you.

Eventually the sweet soft kiss turned into a hard core make out. After a while of making out Remus decided to take you up to his chambers making sure to lock the door this time.

Let's just say you both had a very fun night that night and you were definitely limping a little bit but that night you both told each other how much you love each other. The next day that luckily only Remus noticed. He even teased you about it when you two were alone again.

Personal post. Mentions of hospitals, surgery, blood, genitals, and vomiting.

I had minor surgery yesterday. It was scheduled for 3:15, and the doctor's office initially told me I could have food until 7:00 am. Then the anesthesiologist called the night before and said no food after midnight, then only clear liquids until 10:00 am, then nothing at all until after surgery.

I tried to sleep in so I'd be unconscious for more of the time I wasn't eating, but I couldn't. So I got up, and I had water and black coffee (black coffee was allowed) until 10, then tried to distract myself. Eventually I had to get in bed bc the nausea from not eating was so bad.

We went to the hospital about 1, per the doctor's orders, and we had to go to registration and then another area of the hospital, and I was so anxious and out of it with hunger that the number of people was overwhelming, and Noah had to guide me to the right spot.

Then we just waited and waited. I read close to 100 pages of the Discworld novel I'd brought (The Fifth Elephant). Eventually I had to lay my hospital bed down because another intense wave of nausea hit and I couldn't sit up anymore.

My husband asked about the delay, and they said they were running an hour late, due to my doctor still being in surgery. It was hot in the hospital room, and I kept sitting on parts of my hospital gown while trying to find a comfortable position.

They finally got me at about 3:30, and I was wheeled into surgery prep. Then two separate nurses asked me the same questions (name, DOB, allergies, last time I ate, drank, and used the bathroom), and I waited a little longer.

Then it was time for the IV, and I had turned away because I don't like watching myself get picked with a needle, but the nurse said "oh, that's a real good vein!" and sounded excited, so I looked over at my hand and saw a paper towel soaked in blood, and got a little scared. I have anxiety anyway, so that didn't help, but I couldn't take anything for it because I was getting surgery.

Then the anesthesiologist came in. The anesthesiologist asked how I was, and at this point I was mad at him for making me go 18+ hours without food, what with the delay and all, so I said, "Miserable. I'm so hungry." He asked me what I wanted to eat and I said, "food," and he said, "c'mon, you have to have a favorite" and I said "I don't care, I'm so hungry."

Next the doctor came in, and I made the joke I'd been planning to make but fumbled it a bit. I said, "this surgery means I can have vaginas... This laser vagina surgery means I can shoot lasers out of my vagina, right?" and he kinda laughed and said, "You're cute. But I'll be using my equipment, you'll have to get your own laser."

Then I was under.

I woke up to a lot of faces near me. They told me I did well. I think it was about 6, and then I think I fell asleep again. When I woke up next around 8:30, they asked how I was and... I wasn't great.I was tired and hungry and Noah wasn't there, and I had an anxiety attack. I kept saying, "anxiety, anxiety attack" and clutching my chest, and I guess at some point they asked if I wanted Noah and I said yes. It seemed like he got there quick, but he told me he'd been out picking up my prescription for pain meds per the hospital's orders.

I was still hungry, so they got me some crackers, and Noah gave me the trail mix we'd brought, but pretty soon after I threw up. Then they got me some Saltines and I was trying to eat them as fast as I could, because my logic at the time was that I felt bad because my stomach was empty, so I needed to fill it up quickly so I'd feel better. I threw those up, too.

We eventually headed home around 10 or 10:30 pm. I held it together for the car ride, but as soon as we got home I threw up again into one of the handy dandy emesis bags the hospital had sent home with us.

I drank some water, managed a bowl of cereal, and went to bed.

Today I'm tired and groggy, dehydrated, have a sore throat, and my vagina is a bit tender.

But hopefully, the persistent precancerous cells are gone now.

And yesterday was my 37th doctor visit since February. Now that my vagina is fixed (fingers crossed), I'm hoping the number of visits decreases. I am so tired of doctors.

Summary: You and Poe go to the beach and Poe talks to you about how he feels.

That’s so early for just a walk on the beach...

Maybe I have more planned.

You bit your lip to bite back a smile. You thought you would be meeting Poe later in the evening for dinner on the shore and then a walk down the beach, and although you wouldn’t admit it, you were hoping he had planned more. Knowing he had a whole day planned made your stomach flutter.

Is that so?

Okay, Dameron. I’ll see you at 11.

You put your phone back in your pocket as you continued to work, organizing books. A group of middle schoolers had come by and basically made a mess of the entire store, leaving books all over the place and putting them on the incorrect shelves. It was your turn to reorganize since Tallie was at the register.

“What are you smiling at?” Leia peeked around the aisle to find you smiling as you dusted off another book, placing it on its appropriate shelf.

You just shook your head, a smile still lingering on your face. “Just thinking”

“About Poe?” She smiled, handing you another book to put away.

Leia could see right through you. She knew how much you liked being around Poe. She would notice your entire face light up every time Poe would visit the store, and she also noticed how much Poe could be himself around you, which was actually quite different from him. He always put on a mask around other girls, but not you. She wouldn’t tell you that, though.

You laughed softly. “Yeah. We have a date tomorrow.”

Leia grinned, “See? I told you that you know what you want.”

With that she walked away, leaving you to continue working with the same smile plastered on your face.

The day of your date, you woke up around 9am to shower and get ready. It was pretty warm outside and hardly a cloud in the sky. You wore a similar outfit to the one you wore to the club a couple weeks ago along with your swimsuit underneath. You weren’t sure if you would go in the water, but you wore it just in case.

Poe texted you around 10:30 as you were still getting ready.

Mornin sunshine. Going to starbucks then i'll head to your place. Whatcha want?

Your date hadn’t even started yet and you were already blushing. The fact that Poe had called you sunshine and was going to pick you up breakfast continued to prove the gentleman he really was. You had no doubt he was so kind, it just took you a few weeks and Leia to knock some sense into you that he was nothing like Kyle.

You don’t have to get me anything!

I know I don’t. But i'm gonna anyway. Quick, i'm next in line.

You chuckled to yourself before responding.

I’ll have a java chip frappe with peppermint :)

Got it. Pick you up soon.

You swore your smile hadn’t left your face since work yesterday.

You finished gathering up your things while you waited for Poe to pick you up. You threw a towel, some sunscreen, a change of clothes, a water bottle and some chapstick in your bag. You looked in your desk drawers for your sunglasses when you came across that matte blue notebook.

Hesitantly, you picked it up. You knew you shouldn’t open it right before going on your date. Your memories of Kyle had already messed up one interaction with Poe, you didn’t want them to mess up another.

The notebook had hundreds of pages full of your emotions towards Kyle. Emotions, feelings and thoughts you had never told anyone before. Thoughts that were holding you back. That kept you holding on to New York.

You heard a honk which let you know that Poe was outside. You grabbed your beach bag and the blue notebook, calling out to Rey and Rose to tell them you were leaving.

As you left, you tossed your notebook into the trash bin that sat right by your front door. You let out a sigh of relief as you got into Poe's car. Good riddance.

“Well hello there.” He chuckled, taking a sip of his coffee before handing your frappuccino. He had beautiful eyes, but boy did he look good wearing sunglasses.

“Hi” You laughed, taking it from him. “Thank you. How much do I owe you?”

“Seriously?” You glanced at him in confusion. “We’re on a date. You don’t owe me anything.” He set his cup in the cupholder and pulled out of the apartment complex.

The fact that you felt nervous was silly. You had been spending a lot of time with Poe since you arrived in Florida. He allowed you to be yourself and he was starting to feel like a best friend. Sure, you would go to lunch or hang out, but it was never labeled as a date like today. Poe was giving you butterflies.

The drive to the beach was comfortable. Poe had put the windows down and turned the radio on, turning it up just enough so that you two could sing karaoke with the music. Your hair flew in front of your face as you looked out the window and you pushed it out of the way, even though it continued the entire ride. Poe frequently glanced over at you as he drove, the corner of his lips turning up to a soft smile.

Thirty minutes later and Poe was pulling into a parking garage right across from Fort Lauderdale beach. “Why didn’t we just go to miami beach?” You asked as you sipped the last of your frappuccino.

He shrugged as he turned off the ignition, smiling at you. “I wanted to try something different.”

You both got out of the car, Poe going to open the trunk to grab what looked like a picnic basket along with a beach umbrella. He handed you another bag that had a blanket, towels, and a change of clothes.

“Making me carry your things, are we?” You teased as he closed the trunk, locking the car.

He smirked and headed out of the parking garage without saying a word. This was going to be a long day, and boy were you excited.

You had eventually found a nice spot on the beach far enough away from the crowds of people, but still close enough so it wasn’t like you had the beach to yourself. You wouldn’t mind if you did, though.

You set down the bags and put up the umbrella while Poe laid out the red and white checkered blanket. You took off your shoes, placing them in your beach bag so they wouldn’t get sand in them.

You sat down beside Poe, his tanned skin gleaming perfectly from the sun directly above the two of you.

“So. What do we have planned today?” You watched him place the picnic basket in his lap and he opened it to reveal a display of foods and drinks.

He began to take out small sandwiches, bags of chips, cups of fruit and cookies. You bit your lip to hold back a smile, the thought that he had put this together by himself made your cheeks heat up.

“Well, I figured we would eat first. Then we could go into the water or tan a bit. Walk the shore. If you aren’t too tired maybe we could watch the sunset.” He handed you a can of soda that you cracked open right away.

You took a sip of your soda before placing it in your lap. “I’m cool with staying to watch the sunset.”

He grinned widely. “Cool.”

You smiled back as he handed you a sandwich.

“Did you make these?” You unwrapped the foil it was covered with before taking a bite.

“Sure did.” He paused as though he felt guilty. “Well, Finn helped me. By helped me I mean that he made them and I wrapped them with foil.”

You covered your mouth as you let out a laugh, trying not to spit out your food.

“Look,” He chuckled, swallowing his bite of the sandwich, “I don’t know how to make sandwiches look...presentable. I wanted them to look nice. Finn has a gift-.”

“In sandwich making?” You took another bite of your sandwich, a smile plastered on your lips.

He rolled his eyes and continued to eat. You admired how Poe was trying so hard. You could care less about how a sandwich looked, especially when you were just having a picnic. But Poe was different. He was going to do everything he could to capture your heart. He was doing a damn good job.

You two talked for what seemed like hours, typical between the two of you. You had only known Poe for about a month and a half, but you felt as though you had known him forever. Even after that incident at the bar and the encounter at the bookstore the next day, you still felt relaxed and comfortable with him. Things weren’t awkward between you two.

About an hour and a half into your conversations, you noticed Poe’s arms starting to redden.

“Did you put sunscreen on?” You asked him concerned. You glared at his bicep, which was only half covered by his t-shirt. You really didn’t know if you were staring at it because it was sunburnt or because it was massive.

He looked at his arms before he swore under his breath, grabbing the sunscreen bottle from his bag.

You let out a small laugh. “That’s gonna leave a wonderful tanline.”

He smirked at you before he pulled off his shirt, tossing it into his bag. You licked your lips unconsciously as you took in the view before you. His chest was toned perfectly and the sun reflected off of it, he looked like a movie star. A silver chain hung from his neck, a ring attached to the end of it.

He ran his hands along his chest and arms to cover himself in sunscreen and you noticed a small tattoo located right above his heart.

“S.B.D?” You asked.

He looked down at the initials carved into his skin before looking back at you. “My mom's initials,” he said, “Shara Bey Dameron”.

Poe had told you about his mom when you went to lunch after you had gotten the job at Solo Reads. You had asked him about his childhood, which brought up the conversation about his parents. His dad had moved away from South Miami after Shara passed. He felt stuck and heartbroken, in need of an escape before it consumed him, a situation similar to yours. Poe decided to stay in Miami to go to flight school and eventually become a commercial airline pilot.

Shara passed away when Poe was eighteen due to breast cancer. From what he had told you, he had been extremely close to her. They nearly seemed inseparable. You weren’t surprised that he had a tattoo in her honor.

“That’s a beautiful name,” you said softly.

“She was a beautiful woman.” He smiled gently at you.

Your eyes shifted from his down to his necklace. He reached up to hold the silver ring between his thumb and index finger, “It was her wedding band. My dad gave it to me after she passed. I didn’t feel like it was doing her justice, so I got the tattoo as well.”

You nodded sadly, looking into your lap. “I’m sorry.”

He shook his head, “Let’s not turn this into a pity party. Let’s have some fun. We’re on a date.” He stood up, reaching his hand out for you to take.

You took it and he pulled you up.

“Let’s go in the water.” He smirked.

You pulled your shirt over your head and pulled down your shorts to leave you in your bikini. If you had been with anyone else, you would have been extremely self-conscious. But being around Poe made you feel like yourself. You weren’t as nervous as you had been a week ago. He was making it clear how much he respected you.

He smiled at you in which your cheeks flushed.

“You’re beautiful.”

Your eyes shot up to meet his, your small smile dropping slightly.

“What?” He noticed your demeanor change.

You gulped, “No one has ever called me beautiful before.”

It was true. Kyle was your first boyfriend and he never called you beautiful. He never called you anything, for that matter. Except sexy, and that’s only when he would try to get you in bed. But he would never call you any terms of endearment, nor would he ever make you feel beautiful.

His smile turned to a frown. “Didn’t you have a boyfriend?”

No, no, no. Don’t bring him up. You were able to shrug it off.

He walked toward you, tilting your chin up to look at him. “Well I’ll tell you a million times. You are beautiful.”

You softly smiled. “Thank you.”

You were falling faster than you would have liked to.

Poe smiled back at you before scooping you up and throwing you over his shoulder, a small scream leaving your lips.

“Poe Dameron, put me down!” You laughed. He was careful. If you really wanted to be put down, he would put you down. He didn’t want to mess up again. But he could tell in your tone that you were being playful.

“No, thanks.” He ran down the sand into the water before setting you down.

You yelped at the change in temperature, the cold waves crashing on your legs.

Poe splashed you, causing you to gasp. You shot him a glare, your jaw hanging open slightly, before you splashed him back. “It’s on”.

You and Poe continued to splash each other as if you were a couple of kids until Poe pulled you to him, wrapping his arms around your waist. You were unsure where to place your hands, but you eventually sat them on his biceps, which he purposefully flexed.

He sighed, his goofy smile turning more serious. “I know you said you just got out of a relationship, and that you couldn’t do this right now, but I like you a lot. I feel like I have known you my entire life. You’re so easy to talk to. You laugh at my jokes, which by the way are terrible, so thank you for that.”

You laughed slightly, looking up at him. You knew where he was going with this, but you already knew your answer. He was making you feel again, something you didn’t think that was possible. At least not this fast. You had thrown away your notebook right before you left this morning. You were ready to completely start fresh. That wasn’t to say that you weren’t still hurt, and some things would be extremely sensitive, but you wanted to try this with Poe. Just like Leia said, you know what you want.

“You’re beautiful, funny, sassy,” You blushed and smiled, running your hands up and down his arms. “I know this is only our first date but, I’d like to make you my girlfriend. It doesn’t have to be today, or even tomorrow. But I want you to know that I’ll give you all the time you need.”

He was willing to wait for you.

“Poe.”

“And I don’t know what you went through in New York, but I would never, ever, hurt you.”

“Poe I-” You tried cutting him off.

“Yes, I know. Since I’m a pilot I am gone a lot, but I would never-” You cut him off by placing your lips on top of his. The kiss was soft, different from the kisses you had shared at the club.

He kissed you back and you felt as though you were floating. His lips were soft and warm, heat shooting through your body even though you were still standing in the cold water.

He cupped your cheek, tilting your head slightly to kiss you deeper. Even though it wasn’t the first kiss you two had shared, it had felt like it.

You pulled away, looking up at him. “I came here to start over. I’m tired of holding myself back. You’ve pulled me out of my shell and I admire you so much for it. I’m not perfect, and I might be a lot to handle sometimes, but if you are up for the challenge, then yes. I’ll be your girlfriend.”

You didn’t think Poes smile could get any wider, but it did. He picked you up and spun you around, and you giggled hysterically.

He sat you down, placing his forehead on top of yours before pecking your lips. “You’re my girlfriend”

You rolled your eyes playfully, walking out of the water.

He chased you, reaching down to grab your hand as you walked back to the blanket. Not even two minutes into being official and the boy was already smitten.

The rest of the date you spent laughing and exchanging occasional kisses. It had seemed as though Poe had so many he was waiting to give you, and he was giving them to you all at once.

Poe had pulled you into his lap, giving soft kisses to your shoulder and cheek and you would giggle and scrunch your face at the tickling sensation.

“Do you have any more food? I’m kind of hungry.” You asked, looking into the picnic basket.

He removed his lips from your shoulder to glance inside. He reached in to pull out a small bag of grapes, handing them to you.

You opened them and popped a few into your mouth before offering some to Poe. He grabbed one, throwing it at a seagull that was a few feet away from where you two had sat.

“Poe!”

“What? It looked hungry.” He raised his shoulders and pointed at the seagull.

“Yeah well now it’s going to alert its fellow seagull buddies and our date is going to have an audience!” You crawled out of his lap as more seagulls landed near your towel.

“Nope, no, I am walking away” You laughed and stood up, trying to walk away from the birds that were now hovering over Poe.

“They just want some food! Here.” Poe threw some more grapes.

You watched as the seagulls got closer to Poe, who was now standing with slight panic on his face. He started to run away from them in hopes that they would eat the grapes and leave, but they only flew after him. You couldn’t help but laugh so hard you nearly cried, Poe running in circles yelling for you to save him.

The birds eventually gave up and flew away, and Poe ran to you, pulling you into him and burying his head in your neck. “They almost killed me”

“You are so overdramatic,” You laughed, pushing him off you gently. “You ready for that walk now?”

He nodded, brushing his hair out of his face. “It’s getting a little chilly, I’m going to change and then we can take our walk down the shore and watch the sunset. It will be very romantic.” He winked.

You giggled again, walking to your bag to grab your clothes. You changed into some sweats and a hoodie, and Poe did the same.

“Ready?” Poe asked, reaching his hand out for you.

You nodded, taking it and intertwining your fingers as you walked along the shore. The water barely caressed your feet as you walked and talked, sharing pecks on the lips every now and then until Poe stopped walking, pulling you to his chest and placing a small kiss on the crown of your head. You rested your head on his chest and let out a tiny sigh.

You were feeling excited, but a part of you was upset with yourself for allowing you to get attached to someone so quickly, let alone hop into another relationship after just getting out of an abusive long-term relationship. You couldn’t help but worry you would end up hurt again, but for now you stood in the arms of Poe, his head on top of yours as you watched a mixture of reds and oranges paint the sky as the sun faded behind the sea.

Pairing: my ever so steamy Liam and Riley

Summary: Fairly recent events. The heir has been born. Off canon note: in my fics Riley is dealing with memory loss from an accident she had as a teen with her adoptive parents. Riley now has her memories back, however it won’t be explained here. Riley is making an effort now that she’s cleared for physical activity to get back to her pre-baby weight. Maxwell has launched a new business venture Kraken Fitness and wants Riley to be his spokesperson.

Riley held Ellie in her arms singing to her softly as she breastfed her, sitting in the rocking chair. She could see Ellie’s sweet brown eyes closing. Riley’s beautiful voice changed to a soft hum. Liam watched her with the baby in awe.

She looked up, feeling his eyes on her. She smiled at him. He smiled back. He tiptoed closer to them, softly rubbed Ellie’s soft jet black curls, and kissed the top of her head. Then he leaned in kissing Riley’s lips.

Riley slowly got up, putting Ellie in the crib. Both her and Liam ran at of the room as quickly and as quietly as they could.

Riley was an excellent mother. Liam just loved watching Riley with Ellie. The way she would hold and sing to her, considering, in the beginning, Riley was so hesitant about having children. Riley had told him that the only reason she felt like she could be a good mother now finally is having her memories back, and remembering how wonderful she was treated by her own mother Lauren Brooks.

The next morning was Riley’s 8 week followup appointment. Riley was cleared to start physical activities, and other wifely duties. 🍋🍋

Maxwell, with his money for the book deal, had finally opened his gym. Kraken Fitness.

Maxwell had offered to help get Riley back in shape post baby. Riley was still about 25 or so pounds heavier that what she was used to. Liam didn’t mind at all, in fact he loved it.

Riley wasn’t unhappy with herself per se but she could not fit in any other her other gowns or wedding dress currently because of weight gain.

She trained hard with Maxwell. The next 8 weeks, she hadn’t lost all the weight mind you, but she had lost inches, and was actually slightly thinner than she was before she got pregnant with Eleanor.

“Absolutely not.”

“Liam.”

“No.”

“So what part is actually the no?” Maxwell asked.

“I will not have my wife, the Queen, in a bikini showing her weight loss success, after having our baby. These other pictures, I'm okay with the bikini shots, no.”

Ellie could sense Riley was getting angry and started getting fussy. She rocked her in her arms.

“I’m sorry Ellie, Daddy’s being a total Royal pain in the ….

“Riley!”

“APPLE! You’re being a royal pain in the APPLE!!!! Liam. You have your Apple Crisp ads you do. I see how all those women act when they see you walk in the room.”

“I’m wearing my royal regalia Riley, I’m not walking in wearing a speedo. That’s different.”

“Oh don’t act like you don’t love the attention.”

“It showcases her hard work Liam. Riley wasn’t happy with herself when we started.”

“Riley is that true?”

“It’s not untrue Liam. I couldn’t wear any of my old clothes.”

“Riley we had a baby. Ellie is worth a few extra pounds.”

“Of course she is. But she’s here now, I can get back to taking care of myself again.”

“Maxwell we’re running the picture, i’m your spokesperson.”

“No you’re not running the picture.”

“Bastien, can you be impartial for a moment for me? Look at this picture and tell me what you think.”

He looked at the photo of Riley and his eyes widened. "Wow!" He cleared his throat. "My apologies Your Majesty."

“That’s all i needed.”

He focused his attention back on Riley. “No you’re not.”

“Maxwell, as your Queen, i’m telling you to run the picture.”

“I don’t like where this is going, Ellie.”

“Lord Maxwell as your ruling Monarch, of royal blood, I’m telling you, no.”

“You really just did that to me, I need to speak to my husband alone. RIGHT NOW! Can you take Ellie, Maxwell?”

Maxwell and Bastien walked out of the room. They heard the door click behind them.

“Um, did they just lock the door?” Maxwell said.

“Sounds like it.”

Liam locked the door, his eyes darkening as he looked at Riley.

“So i guess we play the game now?”

“I guess we do.”

“Rules?”

“If you scream you lose.” he nods in agreement.

“If you cum, you lose.”

She nods. “I’ll allow it.”

“3 minutes to do your best work. Pick your place.”

“That wall,” Liam points.

“On top of the desk,” Riley points.

“Two pictures.”

“None.”

“Liam.”

“Fine. One, but I pick it.”

“Deal.”

"Coin Toss?"

“Heads.”

“Tails, looks like I go first.” He winks at Riley.

“Set your phone. Two alarms, one for 3 minutes, one for 3:30 allowing 30 seconds for transition. “

“Mine will be set for 6:30.

She puts her phone on the desk.

“Ready?”

Riley slid her panties off.

She nodded.

Liam backed her up to the wall.

"10 seconds," he said.

“I’m fire.” His hands rested on her hips.

“I’m gasoline.” Riley says.

“And when we connect….” Liam groaned as he picked her up, pinning her body to the wall. Riley wrapped her legs around his hips.

Riley whimpered softly , “We blaze.”

She heard the beep of the phone, and Liam didn’t waste one second giving her all of him on the first thrust. Riley bit her lip so she wouldn’t scream, gripping Liam’s shoulders. He was bringing every weapon in his arsenal. He was groaning in her ear. Talking dirty to her.

“Riley scream for your King, let’s end this. Stop holding back. You know you want to.”

He almost… had… her… then the first alarm went off.

Riley gasped, her legs were quivering. He pulled Riley over to the desk. She pushed him backwards onto it. Straddling him.

*********Meanwhile outside the door….****************

“So this is weird….” Maxwell said as he played with Ellie. They heard another crash.

“They’re playing Fire and Gasoline.” Bastien said. “I walked in on it once. Hence why they locked the door. It’s how they make decisions when they can’t agree. There are rules.”

********More crashing sounds from the study. ************

“It’ a S - E - X game.” He spelled because Maxwell was holding Ellie.

“You’re not playing fair Riley,” he groaned.

“You didn’t set it as a rule did you?” Every time she descended down his shaft she tightened her muscles clenching him even tighter within her walls. She knew her tightness was his biggest weakness in bed.

8 seconds before time, Liam felt his release, Letting out a loud yell.

“Guess I win.”

“Damn it.” Liam said. Pulling his pants back on.

Finally the door opens. They gasp as they stare at Queen Riley.

Riley’s hair is all wild and her clothing wrinkled and disheveled. She’s hobbling because she’s missing one of her stilettos. Liam tosses her, her missing shoe. She puts it on.

“Come to mommy,” She takes Ellie from Maxwell’s arms and walks away.

Liam comes out of the room, looking just as disheveled as Riley, but his shirt looks like it’s been ripped open. The study is a mess.

“You get one picture.” He called after her.

“I should get two, because of double points.”

“Guess you lost , Your Majesty?” Bastien laughed.

I really loathe Nickleback… but all i can hear in my mind right now is…. “Look at this photograph……”

Pixelot - Dragon Trial

I'm really excited to share the last devlog post before the update goes live!

After defeating Salamandro in Mt. Magmor, the party goes back to wyrm to find that it is under attack by demons! The party rushes to the aid of Lord Christopher and he joins your party!

Christopher is a Lord / Highlord with powerful defensive abilities. His main attack deals damage and combos into a piercing attack. He has two multi target attacks, the first lowering the defense of all his enemies and the second reducing the damage the party takes. Lastly he has a powerful single target attack that boosts the damage every party member deals on their next attack. His Gaia Blade ability boosts his power and causes his attacks to deal additional earth damage. He has a mirror shield ability that reflects damage on one target and a black cloak ability that blocks all melee damage. His final ability, steelfire, boosts defense and power for the party.

After defeating the demons in Wyrm, Chris tells the party about the dragon trial, a mystical quest into Mt. Volkor to defeat the Dragon Lord Volkor and ask for his protection. The party convinces Chris that they are going with him whether he likes it or not and so they set out to Volkor Valley to begin the trial. The trial consists of three parts, the fire dragons in the valley, the ice dragons in the mountain, and the storm dragons on the mountain top.

The fire dragon trial is relatively easy and simple. The party travels east through the valley defeating fire dragons until they reach Blacking, the leader of the fire dragons. Blackwing and Garrett get into a ... Heated... Discussion and a fight ensues. Blackwing has a powerful fire attack that also lowers the party's defense. He has a strong tail swipe attack that deals physical damage each turn as well. After defeating Blackwing he warns you that the rest of the dragons will be more difficult and gives you a dragon coat. The dragon coat is an epic armor piece that has high power, balanced defense and resistance, and can be worn by anyone.

The ice dragon trial is the longest stretch of the trial. To traverse the cavern in Mt. Volk, the player will need to navigate through several ice puzzles, switches, and locked doors. There are a number of really powerful items in the cavern including a dragon scale that ignores 30% of the enemy's defense and resistance. Once you reach the end of the cavern, the party faces off against Azura, the brood mother of the dragons. Azura heals herself and her three eggs each turn. After only a few turns the eggs will hatch. If the eggs successfully hatch they will turn into dragons and be healed to full health. These dragons have infinite power and will 1 shot the party if they are allowed to hatch. The boss fight serves as a sage race as the player must balance staying alive and defeating the eggs in time. Once the eggs are defeated, the rest of the fight is much easier. After defeating Azura, she vows to protect your town and the player takes the ladder to the top of mountain top.

The final stretch of the dragon trial is consisted of a few maps where the player must defeat enemy storm dragons and climb higher on the mountain. Off to the side of one of the paths is a rainbow scale relic that reduces magic damage by 30% which is very helpful against the final dragon boss. Upon reaching the peak of Mt. Volk, the player battles against Volkor the Storm Lord, a powerful storm dragon. Volkor deals massive electric damage and always stuns 1 player per turn. A great way to counter this is to have a sage use purify on the party. With their high speed they will cure paralysis for whoever is stunned (unless of course they are the ones stunned!). If the player manages to defeat Volkor, they will receive his protection and the Storm Crystal!

The storm crystal greatly boosts every hero's offensive abilities and overall power. Once they collect the crystal they meet with Astrum again and they challenge him asking why they need to get more of the crystals. Astrum informs the party that the demon sisters have started a war between Hyperion and Vangarde, the two counterparts to Myria. This is the end of the story content for this update!

While players wait for the next update the have the ability to compete against bosses and monsters in the arena! Defeating the last boss in the arena grants the party a legendary cloak that boosts stats for the hero each turn. When the party recruits Chris, he has a legendary bandana equipped that boosts critical strike chance. The party also has the ability to forge a legendary spear that increases damage against dragon enemies. This is very helpful in the dragon trial and against the last Arena Boss, Prisma. Prisma deals massive damage, is level 75, boosts her own stats, and lowers the party's stats each turn.

I really hope you are as excited for this new update as I am! Once Google finishes approving the app, I will make it available on Android, iOS and Desktop/Mac/Linux at the same time, so stay tuned!
