Being so afraid of being wrong that you can’t move is actually the worst thing you could do for your practice.
You aren’t imposing on anyone.
You aren’t insulting the Gods. Arguably, you don’t actually know what would be considered insulting unless you’ve actually asked Them.
You’re not going to be beaten up and told you are the worst devotee ever.
You aren’t going to be told by any Deity you are morally imbalanced or impure.
The only thing the Gods are actually concerned with is the ability to get you to listen to Them which means peeling away layers and layers of trauma, biases, and patterns that take you away from Them. They would not forcibly remove you from Their attentions just because you wanted to try something new or do something that no one else is doing.
The ultimate goal of any Divine relationship for either side should always be to draw nearer to Them, not be pushed away because your discernment is inaccurate while you are learning.

Prayer of thanks to Loki
[[original prayer]]
When we dance as if no one sees, You are the music in our hearts. When we lose our egos in the magic of fun, You are the spark of play. When we extend kindness to those society has left behind, You are our open minds.
When we break our chains, You are the strength beating in our blood. When we question what is mandated, You are our daring curiosity. When we find ourselves home in many worlds but bound by none, You are our freedom.
We offer You our full-bellied laughter, our tears of mirth. We offer You our refusal to let our inner flames be dimmed. We offer You our gratitude, respect, and devotion.
Hail Loki!

Loki’s such a God of Storytellers. Loki does it for the story, always has, always has been the core of debate as to his own stories, his own morals, interpretation of the truth, his purpose, etc.; Loki is the very essence of storytelling itself and, most importantly, knowing how to make people laugh.

The Ostrogoths
Tumblr media
The Ostrogoths are one of two major groups which made up the Goths. The word literally means “the eastern Goths”. It is assumed that classical writers divided the Goths into east and west as a reference to where they lived, and not as tribal identity or origin story.
Archaeologically, there are plenty of similarities between the Ostrogoths and the Visigoths. For example the so-called eagle brooches (image above) are very similar. However the Ostrogoths were more generous in grave goods than their western “cousins”, with most finds being exceptionally decorated.
The earliest cultural expansion of the Goths was located in modern Ukraine. Hunnic expansion forced the goths further south to southwest into Rome. The Ostrogoths were caught between the Huns and the Romans and often switched sides. After the Hunnic empire fell, the road to Rome was open.
Theodorik entered modern day Italy with his troupes and made Ravenna the capital of his empire (instead of the city of Rome). The Western Roman empire had “fallen”, a Germanic king ruled Italia and the mythology of Theodorik was born.
Grave goods found in Cesena, Italia. 5th century.
Museum numbers: FG 1068, FG 1069, FG 1240, FG 461, FG 1610, FG 1611 & FG 1612

arlight so i was thinking about the norse god heimdall, and how his death acts as a sort of canary call, the first to die in ragnarok, but with his death warning the others of what is coming. and that got me thinking about, you guessed it, canary!jimmy. And then I thought "but what if life series norse god symbolism" (or maybe even AU not sure)
So I present:
Jimmy - Hiemdall (for afformentioned reasons)
Martyn - Tyr (martin is the Hand to Rendog, Tyr loses his hand to the fenrir wolf)
Rendog - Fenrir wolf
Scar - Loki (he just is okay I cant really explain it)
Grian - Odin (eye themes, omniscience, is the most powerful, complex love hate relationship with loki/scar)
Scott - Frey (god of nature & peace, dies from not having a sword, like how scott refuses to kill)
Joel - Thor (it just fits idk)
Lizzie - Sif (Joels wife, also kinda fits)
BigB - Bragi (god of poetry, bigb is skilled manipulator)
Etho - Ullr (god of hunt, duels, and winter)
Bdubs - Narfi (tricked by odin to turn on brother (impulse))
Cleo - Jormungandr (something about dripping poison into the world feels very on brand for them) (not as an insult) (more as a compliment if anything)
Tango - Mimir (god of inteligence who (depending on the version) dies due to his own actions)
Mumbo - Kvasir (god of innovation and invention)
Skizz - Baldur (hes just a sweet guy who dies too soon)
Impulse - Vali (betrayed by an brother (bdubs) and death lead to "binding" of loki/scar)
Pearl - Hel (she just is)
Gem - Freya (goddes of love but also battle)

The "golden apple of discord" story would never work in Norse mythology, because the obvious correct answer to "who is the prettiest goddess" is Loki.

If you’re looking for a really good shop for Hellenic statues or Kemet statues I highly recommend this Etsy shop their prices are really affordable especially on the small statues. I go for smaller in size statues for right now my Hermes statue is example but the store is a go to for these statues especially if you don’t trust Amazon. They have heroes as well if you include in your deity practice such Achilles, Minotaur, Medusa, etc. but you’ll also find Egyptian as I said, some Roman gods and goddesses, Catholic saints, and recently Norse gods. They are mostly a shop that evolves around ancient Egyptian gods. I 10/10 highly recommend if you’re looking for a good mini statue under 20 dollars. They ship pretty fast as well. I hope this helps someone in their search!

Reunion
In 2021, researchers discovered that an 11th century skeleton uncovered from a grave in Otterup, Denmark in 2005 was related to a skeleton found in a mass grave in Oxford, England in 2008. DNA analysis showed them to be half-brothers, uncle and nephew or grandfather and grandson.
The man found in Oxford died young and it's speculated that he died during the St Brice's Day massacre, an attack on all Danes in England ordered by King Æthelred the Unready after an increase in Danish raids on England. The man found in Denmark died around the age of 50, having lived a farmer's life, but not one without combat.
After a century separated by the North Sea, the two relatives were reunited for an exhibition at The National Museum of Denmark.

Made another design in my series of pride Norse designs that I'm creating as a fuck you to nazis appropriating the runes and other symbols in hopes that if we can make designs of them that are so blatantly gay they won't want to touch them anymore. (Previous designs: Pride Loki Runes | Be Gay, Do Pride )
It's Yggdrasil (Norse tree of life) with the colors of the original pride flag in the tree/branches surrounded by rings in the colors of the triangle of the progress flag (representing BIPOC, Trans, and Intersex) (Design is transparent. Grey background is for visibility purposes)
Tumblr media
Just like the previous designs, I'll be hosting the full-res file of this design as a free download on my Ko-Fi for people to use to make their own apparel/stickers/whatever. And also hosted on Threadless for those who can't print them on stuff themselves (or just don't feel like it) but still want something with this design on it. Each sale will also make an automatic donation to various LGBT+ charities like The Trevor Project and the National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network.
I'll be making more of these designs and also be taking requests for a bit if there are any pride rune/Norse designs anyone might want to see made, feel free to just drop them in my ask box!
[Edit: For some reason linking to the download on Ko-Fi hides this post in tags. No idea why, because the other posts were/are fine, but anyway there's a link to my Ko-Fi in my pinned post. Apologies for the inconvenience.]

worship evolves with time. yes, the people who worshipped the gods back in the day had specific offerings to be given. but what is stopping you from giving modern offerings? things around your house? offerings shouldn't have to cost you a fortune. your deities aren't holding you at gunpoint to only receive what you can't easily get. they are a means of showing your love in your day-to-day. so yes!! give your deities candy bars! show them a silly little doodle of them in the corner of your notebook!! make a spotify playlist and play it for them!! dedicate a journal to them!! make a pinterest board and fill it with pins that remind you of them!! the important aspect of these offerings is that you are thinking about your deities. thinking about them and feeling love and devotion to them is a means of offering! you are devoting your energy in these acts!!
