Experimenting with a new medium! Ink! It's a quick study of light. I'm rather busy, so it isn't my usual post, I know. I hope you like it still.

“None saw her last meeting with Elrond her father, for they went up into the hills and there spoke long together, and bitter was their parting that should endure beyond the ends of the world.”
Tolkien’s use of language. Wow.

Glorfindel Week, Day 2: Helcaraxë
@glorfindelweek
"[Fingolfin] and his host wandered long in misery, but their valour and endurance grew with hardship; for they were a mighty people, the elder children undying of Eru Ilúvatar, but new-come from the Blessed Realm, and not yet weary with the weariness of Earth. The fire of their hearts was young, and led by Fingolfin and his sons, and by Finrod and Galadriel, they dared to pass into the bitterest North; and finding no other way they endured at last the terror of the Helcaraxë and the cruel hills of ice. Few of the deeds of the Noldor thereafter surpassed that desperate crossing in hardihood or woe." --Of the Flight of the Noldor, The Silmarillion

fucking hilarious that it was bilbo that made up that rhyme about aragorn. like, in the movies its made to believe it's some long fore-told prophecy about aragorn but it was just bilbo's admiration of his friend

Them: Are you okay?
Me: *points at this* No.
I had forgotten that Arwen had given Frodo her place on the ships to Valinor. I know he goes there, but I’m so used to the movie version that I didn’t realize she did this. It does match up with movie Arwen too. She’s so caring.
And oh gosh, Frodo himself having her necklace. I will cry.

Another day, the same old gut-wrenching tug at my heartstrings whenever the thought of Thorin and Bilbo inevitably creeps back into my mind once more.
I have tears streaming down my face again, why, oh why, couldn't they have had their happy ending.
