Enid: (about to close off her vlog) “And, thank you LizziesHope96 for your recommendation for the week (holds up a book) I look forward to reading it, and next weeks request. Tata for now.”
(Enid closes her phone, lays back on her bed, opening the book)
(Six hours later)
(Wednesday enters the dorm, wet from the rain with blemishes of dirt on her face.)
(Quietly, Wednesday is humming a tune to herself, muttering the lyrics that she hopes no one would hear. Especially after Enid recorded her singing into a blow-dryer.)
Wednesday: (singing quietly to herself) “-and his cheating wife had never left town/That's one body that'll never be found/You see little sister don't miss when she aims-”
(She notices Enid on the bed. She doesn’t have her phone out, but is finishing a book.)
Wednesday: “I will be freshening up, so if you want-”
(She notices the book Enid is reading - “Blood Meridian” - and her eyes widen in terror and disbelief.)
Wednesday: (blurting out) “Ohfuckme!”
(Enid looks up, closing the book. She is wearing a lenin shirt, a wide brimmed hat, an oil slick trench coat, and a set of cowboy boots.)
Wednesday: (wincing a little, hating the nervous edge in her voice) “So...you read that book...How- how was-?”
(Enid takes a chained pocket watch from her breast pocket, glaring up at Wednesday.)
Enid: (speaking with a Texan/Kentucky accent) Does God hear our cries ?
Wednesday: “Oh no.”
Enid: Or is he like some migrant star-
Wednesday: (exhales with a mild “pfft”)
Enid: -blinking through the tendrils of the night's infinite dark ?
Wednesday: “Do you really think a book about the horrible violence, in the American southwest, in the 19th century, is really a great thing to base your personality aroun-?”
(As Wednesday is talking, Enid narrows her eyes, as she puts the pocket watch away. There is a pause, before Enid takes a deep breath.)
Enid: (leans in dramatically) War. What is war if not some acolyte of firmament onto which-
Wednesday: (muttering under her breath) "Here we go."
Enid: (continues uninterrupted) -the ossuary of devil suture together some tendrils from the night's infinite dark ?
Wednesday: (non plussed) “Mmm-hmm.”
Enid: (getting up from her bed): Man and war.
Wednesday: (undeterred): “Nice cowboy boots.”
Enid: (Continues uninterrupted, now standing dramatically before their window) Forever coupled by interminable waning at the commissary of false prophets, still extant. Some changeling born from the prophets-
(We cut to Wednesday is glaring into Enid’s phone. The angle shows she’s holding it upside down, as she addresses Enid’s audience.)
Wednesday: “Okay, she’s been ranting at the window for three hours now. So to this LizziesHope, I promise you; you will see my face at your doorstep before week is up!”

Wednesday: I swing both ways.
Wednesday: Violently and with a bat.
Enid: Come get some motherfucker!
Wednesday: Conveniently I’m also bisexual.
Enid: Yeah she is!
Enid: …
Enid, blushing: Wait really?
Wednesday: Obviously.
Enid: Do you maybe wanna go out sometime? Like on a date. With me.
Wednesday: Mi Amor, my heart has been yours since the day I first laid eyes on you.
Some guy, currently trying to rob them: What in the actual fuck is happening right now?
Wednesday, furious at being interrupted: I can forgive the armed robbery *pulls out a knife* but the homophobia’s too far.
Guy: Oh my god, No! I didn’t—
Enid, shaking her head in disappointment: For shame. It’s 2023 dude.
