#Yeah Dean thought fast because he knew where the thing was going when a as start talking
Text
The way Dean swallowed his feelings as soon Cas told him I love you. he swallowed his will to respond back, because he recognized the point of no return if he just said: You know I love you too. Cas's happiness will have been undoubtedly real. Dean kept silence because he tried to reject or negate Cas the 12 year fuckery between them. thinking it could have ended Castiel's deal with the empty. But he swallowed his words because he wasn't able to lie to Cas when he was so vulnerably open with him... AND THE EMPTY WAS A BITCH THAT ENDED THE THING FAST BECAUSE PLOT CONTRIVANCES.

I’ve seen my fair share of…interesting BOSAS takes (Tigris and Snow’s relationship doesn’t make sense, Sejanus wasn’t important to Coriolanus/Coriolanus’ character, Dean Highbottom was inconsistent, people just called Lucy Gray Lucy instead of LG or something, etc) but never has one irked me as much as people saying the ending was rushed or out of character or didn’t make sense.
The ending is a representation of their whole relationship. Yeah, it’s rushed, because it lasted 3 months and they were prepared to spend their life together after that. No, it was completely in character. Yes, it made total sense, because what else would have convinced Coriolanus to go back, if not the idea that he was safe?
First off, elaborating on the rushed point, be so fr. 1, the book was getting a bit long anyways, and 2, it couldn’t have been long and drawn out. How quick their relationship crumbled and we were shown Coriolanus’ true loyalties shows so much I can’t even begin to explain it, but I’ll try.
It shows how Lucy Gray valued family and trust. She’d already talked about how much trust mattered to her, and she’d been hurt so badly before she needed it. She needs trust, and she doesn’t just need it for herself. She needs to be able to trust him, and she needs him to be able to trust her. When Coriolanus obviously lied about the third person he killed, Lucy Gray realized that neither of those things were there.
It shows how Coriolanus valued himself and the capitol above all else. He was going to, and tried to, kill Lucy Gray. The person who, just 10 minutes ago he was prepared to spend the rest of his life with. He did that because he couldn’t be guaranteed loyalty, and because he realized she definitely didn’t belong to him. Coriolanus’ view of Lucy Gray- that she’s a pet, or something just for him, is entirely effed up and he can’t see that, so he clings to it. He clings to that idea of her being his and when it’s proven false, he can’t let go of it.
Lucy Gray was there when Coriolanus lied to her about the killing, and there was only one person he could have also killed. She was wary of him then, what he was capable of, but she didn’t know for sure where his loyalty truly laid until she saw the look on his face with the guns. She knew then that the Coriolanus standing before her she couldn’t trust, and she knew what that meant, and Coriolanus knew she knew what that meant and he couldn’t deal with the fact she wasn’t completely infatuated with him.
It’s also worthy to mention how easily Coriolanus started to see Lucy Gray differently. He justified his killing of her to himself, as we see in the whole “she’s a victor, maybe Billy taupe was right, etc” page. He thinks that it may have been an act all along, and can’t deal with the fact he fell in love with someone who could turn on him so easily. So he justifies it and makes stuff up and uses all he can to convince himself of the devilish nature of Lucy Gray.
Coriolanus’ deep, unwavering faith in the capitol is shown here so clearly I feel like it’s bleeding into my eyes. He was so ready to leave her (also how he thought she’d be ok with it also proves how he sees her as completely loyal) when he realized he was basically innocent. He is only ever scared of the capitol when it could harm him.
Their whole relationship was a whirlwind, and could never have had a breakup 3 chapters long. It needed to be quick and easy, all ties cut. The fate of Lucy Gray also needed to be a mystery, because nothing else in his life is. The constant worrying of if she’d ever tell, if she’s alive or not, blah blah blah unsettles him just like he deserves it to. We don’t get an answer to if Lucy Gray came back (probably not though), we don’t even get an answer if she’s alive.
In conclusion, the end of BOSAS was very fitting, and though unpredictable and fast, it was right.

Lover in the House
Conrad Fisher x reader
Based on 'The Chase' by Elle Kennedy
Warnings: swearing, fluff, angst, drinking, smoking, a little smut (?!)
Summary: you're living your best life in collage, until suddenly you have to move out of your room. To your surprise, you end up at Conrad Fisher's house. You didn't expect that living with Conrad would be such a challenge. When and how will this rollercoaster end?
Tumblr media
You sigh as you put down your luggage. Reluctantly you ring the bell to Conrad Fisher’s house. After a minute the door opens. His beautiful eyes meet yours, but his expression is flat. He is wearing a blue t-shirt which matches well with his skin. His hair is messy. It is clear he didn’t put in an effort to look nice, but then you remember he never did.
“Hey y/n/n.” He says with a tiny bit of enthusiasm in his voice.
“Hey Con.” You give him a hug and smell his familiar scent. As you look over his shoulder you see the place that will be your home for at least a few months. The last room you rented was in a house with four girls you couldn’t stand. When you got into a fight with them you packed your things as fast as you could and left, not thinking about where you were going to live next. You called your brother Steven instead of your mom because you knew she would get mad. Steven and you always had a bad relationship because you lived close together, but since you've both moved out, his sweet side comes out a little more. So he said he would help you fix your living situation and before you knew it, you were living with Conrad Fisher and his 2 college friends. You are the first to pull away from the hug, slowly walking into the living room. It looks like a bachelor pad with two leather sofas in an L-shape and a big television with a stereoset next to it. Other than that the place is pretty clean. Although, this doesn’t surprise you because you knew from when you stayed over at the summer house that Conrad’s room was the most tidy of all. When you look back, Conrad is already picking up your luggage and leading you to a room upstairs. On the way you run into a guy who introduces himself as Dean. He has dark hair, hazel eyes and his muscles- well, let’s just say they are prominent. “Did any of you see keys laying around somewhere?” He says as he rushes through the house. “Found them!” He shouts from the kitchen. You are impressed by how unfazed he is about your presence. “Dean has ADHD.” Says a blond haired boy coming from the top of the stairs, explaining Deans chaotic appearance and attention span. You make an understanding noise. “You must be y/n, i’m Max.” Says the blond haired boy. You smile at him. “Yes I am. It’s nice to meet you.” Max has blue eyes and a buzz cut, his smile is vibrant. “Come on,” says Conrad, “let’s put this stuff in your room.”
When you get to your room you say: “Nice guys.”
“Yeah, they’re alright.” Conrad says jokingly. After that he shows you around the house. When he’s done the boys head out for football practice. You go to your room and start to unpack. The house and the boys are not as bad as you thought it was going to be. You let out a relieved sigh.
Later that evening after you’ve all eaten, you start to get ready for bed. You put on your big Cousins t-shirt and your hair in a messy bun. But when you lay in bed you don’t feel sleepy at all. You lay there for 2 hours before you get out of bed again. Thirsty as fuck, you walk down the stairs on your tiptoe’s. Being as quiet as possible. The whole house is dark but your eyes are getting used to it. When you get to the kitchen you let out a scream. “Fucking hell, Conrad, why do you always have to scare me like that?”
“Sorry.” He chuckles. His face is lit by the light of his phone screen. He’s sitting at the kitchen table, in his right hand he holds a beer. As he pockets his phone you switch on the light. “What are you doing up?” You feel like you’ve gotten caught. “I should ask you the same question.” You answer. “But uh- I was actually getting a glass of water because I can’t sleep.” Walking over to the kitchen counter, you feel his eyes on your back. You remember you have your oversized Cousins t-shirt on. Hoping the t-shirt is long enough for him not to see the panties you’re wearing underneath, you open up a cabinet. Nope, that’s not where the cups are. You open another one. Again, not the right cabinet. Your right hand is on yet another cabinet, but when you want to open it, his hand blocks it. “That’s not the right cabinet.” You didn’t notice him walking over, his hand so close to yours is a surprise. He is standing really near you. His body almost touching yours, spooning you. His muscular arm, that was just holding a beer, now almost around you. You can feel his body warmth. His breath in your neck. If you turn around now, your lips would touch. That’s how close he is. You know that he’s thinking about it too. You shiver and breath out as you say: “Then, which one is it? Where can I find a damn cup in this house?” You almost sound desperate, and maybe you are. Desperate to get out of this situation, but also desperate to feel his lips on yours. He grabs you by the waist. God, this is not helping. Your feelings are all over the place. You feel your knees weaken. He leads you to the other side of the kitchen. “It’s that one.” He nods his head to the cabinet in front of you. You mumble a thanks. He takes a step backwards, suddenly you feel cold without him near you. You reach out to get a glass from the top shelf. Your t-shirt moves up a little, revealing a slight bit of your panties. Shit. You tuck your shirt down again. A little embarrassed, you walk over to the sink and fill the glass with water. You turn around and lean against the kitchen counter. He looks at you with his deep blue eyes. He’s grinning from ear to ear. You don’t know why, but then you remember that he probably saw your panties. After about a minute of silence, which feels like an eternity looking in each others eyes, you break the silence with a tender voice: “Thanks for letting me stay here, Conrad.”
“Well, your brother didn’t really leave me much choice.”
“But you did want me here, right?” You feel disappointed. “Sure.” He shrugs.
“Sure? Well that’s convincing. Damnit, Conrad. One moment I feel like you like me, and the next you’re just someone who’s stuck with me and has no other choice.” You are starting to feel anger rising in your chest.
“What can I say?” He laughs uncomfortably. His grin disappears when you answer: “You don’t have to say anything. Just choose. Do you want to be a jerk to me, or do you want to admit that you love me?” This question took him by surprise. “You can’t just choose those things!” He was shouting now.
“Yes, you can. So either you make a decision, or i’ll do it for you.”
He stares at you in disbelief and scoffs. “I can’t believe it. You turned a nice night into one I don’t even want to remember.”
Now it’s your turn to be in disbelief: “Why don’t you grap another beer? That’ll make you forget!” Your tone is sarcastic. “And by the way, I didn’t turn this night into anything. You did all the stirring of this fucking rollercoaster where people come out all sick and messed up from.” He doesn’t say anything anymore. He knows that you’re right, but doesn’t want to admit it. He opens his mouth, and then closes it again. Then he opens it again: “I’m going to bed, y/n.” It sounds almost sad. “Of course, how could I possibly think that we can have a serious conversation without you running away?” You say it to an empty doorway because he’s already gone. Leaving you in the kitchen all by yourself. Suddenly you feel very tired, and when you get upstairs to your room you fall asleep in no time.
----------
The music is throbbing in your ears. You’re walking around the room, looking for someone to talk to. There is a party at your house, but for some reason you don’t know any of these people. Well, except for Dean, Max and Conrad of course. But Dean is busy with some girl and you're pretty sure it is Max who is singing loud into the karaoke microphone in the other room. So that leaves you with Conrad, but you two haven’t spoken after the fight one week ago. It’s pretty impressive actually, how you can ignore a roommate for that amount of time. And even if you weren’t saying only the bare minimum to each other, you don’t see him anywhere. You maneuver your way through the crowd, walking to the bathroom. There are a few people waiting so you go to the upstairs one. Once you get there, the door is locked. You wait a few minutes before you start to get impatient. You bang on the door: “Please hurry I need to pee very badly!”
There’s no answer, you bang and try to open the door again. “Hello? Open the fucking door!”
While you’re still banging, the door opens and you see the face you least expected. Before you get to say anything his hand grabs yours. He glances around the room, to see if anyone is looking, and then pulls you into the bathroom and locks the door. “Conrad, what are you-" The sound of your voice dies when you look into his deep serious eyes. Still holding your hand he takes a step closer. He tugs a strand of hair behind your ear and leaves his hand on your jaw. “It’s always been you, y/n. You know it is. Even when I don’t show it sometimes.” You look from his eyes to his parted lips and back. His checkered blouse is unbuttoned, exposing his white t-shirt. His hair is in front of his face. You breath fast. Your heart is pounding. Just when you think he can’t get closer to you, his lips touch yours. A tingle runs through your whole body. Automatically, you start kissing back. Your hand moves to the the back of his head, running through his hair. He puts his hand on your waist. You think this is too good to be true. You started off tender, but now you’re both untamed. Your mouth parts and his tongue slips through. He pushes you against the bathroom door with a loud bang, it doesn’t hurt. Your breathing is heavy. His mouth moves to  your neck and chest. His hands are exploring your body. You let out a moan and bring his head up again. Looking deep into his eyes. God, you think, you could drown in those eyes. His expression is needy and questioning. “I want you to want me.”
“I do want you.” He says sincere. And that’s all you needed to hear before you kiss him again.

Some boy had gone missing in the mountains, and theses mountains were rumored to be extrely haunted. So of course you Sam and Dean catch wind of this story and go to investigate. You grabbed your hiking bag, “ready boys?” Dean smirked “hell yeah” Sam groand“let’s just get it over with” Dean instinctively grabbed your waist as you started to hike through the forest , you and Dean had always been the closest but never romantic , you were tall just like Sam and Dean but not quite as tall, you were 5”11 where Dean was 6”1 and Sam 6”3 , you wore Jean shorts, cowgirl boots leather with blue feather stitching your body was curvy but muscular, you could easily compete with Dean and Sam , but you had a lil stomach , and you hated that you had that’s extra weight right there , you could never except that that was your body trying to help you , incase you ever had a baby that extra fat would cousin and protect the baby or feed it if you ran out of food, no you had to hate it! Cause you thought it was ”ugly”and not an absolute miracle of God ,
all Dean saw in you was beauty , but of course you could never know that either , Dean kept his arm firmly around you waist protectively , as if you would need protecting , but he did it anyway because he wanted to keep you safe , you were the most important thing on earth to him you matters more than anything.
The wind blew through the tall emerald evergreen trees , they reminded Dean of your eyes , the rain misted the forest it was creepy you knew something was out there , you looked back at Sam and Dean knowingly telling them without talking to be ready this thing was here the quick rustles in the bushes proved that , when you saw it , it was a wendigo for sure , it growled at Dean and something inside you flipped you knew you had to protect Dean you had to protect Sam your boys ,
You quickly cut over at this thing slicing sits jaw opens as you slice it as hard as you can all your muscles working on over drive , this wendigo screamed. “Yn! No!” Dean yelled and grabbed you slinging you out of the way as that thing screamed this yellow powder flew into deans face , the wendigo ran off into the forest leaving you there
You ran to deans side “Dean! Damn you you idiot! Why’d you do it!!” Dena smiled up at you “cause I cain’t let that thing hurt my girl” Dean tucks some hair behind your ear , you didn’t know if he ment it in a friendly way of more, Sam fell to deans side to as Dean laid in the ground , “we have to get him somewhere safe , this is about to get real bad real fast” you get panicked “Sam! What do you mean ?! What’s wrong ?!” Sam looks back at you and says “Yn, just don’t worry about it , we just have to get him safe , there!” *sam points to an old log cabin,
Sam Carrie’s Dean who’s whimpering and whining “I’m itching! My skin ! My skins on fire ! It burns! Everything aches ,” Dean whines out through groans , you run your fingers through his hair as Sam lays him down on the floor of the old abandoned cabin, “that stuff that got in deans eyes …that was sex pollen , it’s one of that creatures nastiest tricks ..and” you were shocked and scared Dean blurts out “what’s?!” You’re still so worried “go on Sam , and what ?” Sam takes a deep breathe then says “and if you dont …make love …with someone it’s gonna kill you Dean ..” Dean hollers “no! No! No! That can’t no! I won’t do that to Yn!”
You look at Dean with sympathetic eyes and put a hand on deans forehead “Dean we ain’t got much of a choice” Sam stands up and gose into the other room , fathers from yalls, before he gose Sam kisses your forehead and whispers “I’m so sorry Yn” and he brushes your hair back as he leaves
You go back and sit at deans side , Dean looks up at you “Yn, I don’t wanna do this to you I don’t wanna hurt you , I can’t control myself” you say “Dean I said Id do anything for you, and I meant it , I can’t let you suffer , I can’t let you die Dean! Losing My virginity is nothing compared to losing you!
Dean sits up and pulls you into him kissing you passionately, Dean pulls you into his lap as he grinds you onto him , “oh baby, mmmm” Dean moans , he rips your top off and pulls your shirts off , getting his off as well , his cock aching and hard , Dean looks so sad and upset but his eyes full of desire “Dean , it’s okay , do what you have to , I’ll be okay” Dean let’s go and slides himself into you and moan out “baby I’m so sorry” Dean says , your eyes are clapped shut in pain as you cling onto his big muscles , as you whimper in pain, his cock was stretching you out so much it hurt , Dean kissed up your neck as he pounded into you “your doing so good baby, so good for me” you nod your head as he continues to pins into you deeply “muaah” you moan out in pain Dena looks down at you snapping his hips into you “oh baby , oh baby I’m so sorry”
He didn’t seem to care anything of your insecurities, hell he loved them more than anything , that little bit of stomach you had he wanted nothing more than his baby there , your scars , and stretch marks like lightning , so fucking beautiful , it turned him on even more , he was in so much pain chasing his release to make the pain go away
Soon deans thrust become faster and harder “oh baby , baby , I’m gonna come …mm..gonna give you my baby , gonna get you pregnant” when he moans out, as he shot his cum into you , when he finishes he fell down into your chest but kept his cock inside you and his face in your boobs he clung onto you , “baby, I love you so much”
Dean finally comes back to , his brain starts working right again “oh Yn, I’m so sorry, oh gosh I’m so sorry, I hurt you! I hurt you, no, no no, oh Yn baby,” you grab his face and make him look at you “no Dean don’t you dare apologize! I swore I’d protect you I told you I’d do anything for you, and I mean it! I’d gladly do it again to save you dean I’d do anything for you! I love you Dean Winchester ,
Dean holds you closing to him , his cock still in you , he just wanted to hold you all night long right there , when he slips his ring onto your finger , “baby , I want you as my wife , I want you to have my children ,” you nod your head “yes , yes” as he pulls you into another kiss his arms holding you protectively, you were his wife , his and only his and that thing made him hurt you! He’d find a way to make it suffer ! Then kill it! Nothing hurt his girl , no nothing hurt the wife of Dean Winchester!

Rolling - Chapter 6
Tumblr media
Just a hunt fic with lots of weirdly close brother moments. Dean’s got issues, y'all.
Words: 716
Relationship:  Just the brothers being weirdly close, no smut but this is pushing right up against wincest and implies they've had incestuous thoughts about each other.
Warnings: Angst.
Read it on AO3
Read from the beginning here
Dean looked at the menu Sam had handed to him. “Dude, it’s almost dawn, I don’t think the pizza place opens for, like, twelve hours.”
Sam sat back down on his bed. “Yeah, I kinda forgot about the time. But it’s the thought that counts?”
Dean gave a little laugh. It wasn’t much of a smile, but Sam still considered it a win.
“You wanna keep talking, or should we watch a movie or something?”
“Movie.” Dean said quickly.
Sam tossed him the remote and sat back against the headboard, stretching his legs out. Dean mirrored him on the other bed.
Pre-dawn was not a high ratings time slot, clearly, and they’d finally settled on Breakin’ 2 - Electric Boogaloo because neither of them were in the mood for QVC and Dean nixed the documentary about SETI. He said that the narrator’s voice made him want to punch things.
It was maybe an hour later and without looking away from the screen, Dean said without preamble, “We’re really both that screwed up, huh?”
Sam glanced at him for a second before looking down at his hands and then back at the tv. He didn’t know what to say so he just nodded his head.
“Man, if Dad knew how bad he messed us up, he’d kick his own ass.”
“Yeah,” Sam smiled ruefully at that. “But I don’t know how much of it’s his fault. I mean, we had an insane childhood but he did the best he could, which, yeah, could have been a lot better, you know? But, there’s the whole soulmate thing which is… weird? Is it weird?” He turned and looked at Dean.
“Doesn’t seem normal.”
“Yeah. Yeah, that’s what I thought too.” They were both quiet for a while before Sam said, “But it doesn’t feel wrong.”
Neither of them said anything for an entire commercial break. Finally, Sam continued. “I just, I don’t think it needs to be this big thing, you know, doesn’t really change anything, but I, I think it’s important.”
Dean looked at him.
Sam pressed on, “It goes back to what I keep saying, I’m not going anywhere. I know that now because, well, because there isn’t anywhere else I would rather be. This…” he waved his hand between them in a way that took in the whole room, “... fits.”
Dean looked down, Sam couldn’t quite make out his expression.
“You know all those times I said that I don’t swing that way?”
“Yeeeeeaaaaah?” Where the hell was he going with this, Sam thought.
“I was serious, man. You’re not my type.”
Sam laughed and nodded. “Bullshit.”
“Hey, I’m not the one who almost married a girl who looked a lot like…”
“What about Lisa?”
“... and who had the same birthday as my brother!”
“Okay, yeah, that was a strange coincidence.”
“And please don’t tell me any more details about Ruby.” Dean gave an exaggerated shudder.
Sam laughed. “Fair enough. So? Are we good?”
“I think we’re colossally fucked up. But, we’re fucked up in the same way, so that’s okay. Right?”
“Right.” After a long pause, Sam added, “I’m still sleeping in your bed tonight.”
Dean nodded and then sighed. “You’re like an octopus when you sleep, always have been. But now you’re a big, sweaty, hot octopus.”
“You think I’m hot?” Sam deadpanned.
Dean stared at him, Sam could see the big brother urge to murder in his eyes. He didn’t see Dean's arm move, the pillow came at him too fast. Sam barely managed to bat it away as his face cracked into a wide grin.
They didn’t know what finally did it, figured it was just getting it all out into the open between them, but something had changed for the better. They shared a bed for almost another month before they realized that Dean’s nightmares had stopped. And though neither of them ever admitted it, they both felt a little weird in separate beds again, at least for a few nights. But then it was just like it always had been. They had their ups and downs, they fought and got over it, they made an ongoing series of stupid decisions that almost ended the world several times, but through it all, they had each other, whether they wanted it or not.

Hi me again (...yeah let's say that as anon). Just wanted to say thank you so much for I need to find her. It was so good! But you can't leave me hanging like that! May I pretty pretty please request a part 2 by any chance??? Thank you so much again! X
I Found Her
Tumblr media
When you finally regained consciousness, you found that you couldn’t move your arms and legs. It was when you lifted your head to look down that you realised that you were strapped down to a cold metal table. Even though you knew it would be useless, you couldn’t help but try to shake your limbs free, sighing when you didn’t get anywhere. The last thing you could remember was trying to keep Charlie alive until Sam and Dean could get to you; now you had no idea if Charlie was dead or alive.
The commotion you made must have been louder than you realised because the door swung open and in walked a couple of members of the Styne family; the father and one of the sons.
‘Welcome back, dear,’ the eldest Styne said as he looked down at you, a smile stretched tightly over his thin lips; ever since you and the boys had started dealing with this family, they always seemed to freak you out. ‘We can get started. Now, because it’s George’s first time, we’re going to let him have first choice over which part of you he gets.’
You couldn’t help the small whimper that left your lips as you watched the son, George, scan your body with his eyes, making you feel like an object strapped to the table. Slowly, he extended his hand and lifted the bottom of your top lightly, revealing your stomach. ‘I think I’d like to take a look in here,’ he said in an oddly calm tone of voice as his finger brushed against your stomach.
You watched as the eldest handed George a sharp, rusty looking knife and again, you tried to get up from the table, wanting to put as much distance between you and that knife as possible.
‘Just hold still, dear, and it’ll be over before you know it.’
The tip of the knife brushed against your stomach before stopping, the sounds of fighting coming from just outside the room. A couple of seconds later, Dean came crashing through into the room, his gun raised, ready to take on anyone else. As soon as he saw you strapped to the table with the two Stynes standing by your side, he sent a bullet through one of their legs each, making them collapse, unable to move as he made his way over to you.
‘Hiya, baby,’ he said, rubbing his thumb along the top of your head, ‘how about we get you out of these, huh?’
He quickly slit each strap with his knife and before you knew it, you were being lifted into his arms, your hands clinging to him as he walked the both of you out of the building back to the car. As soon as you were both safely back in the Impala, Dean pulled you closer to him, connecting your lips in a hurried kiss.
‘How did you know where I was?’ You asked, looking up at his face and taking in the fact that you were with him again.
‘Cas.’ He said simply before pulling you back in for another kiss.
You felt yourself getting lost in the kiss before your thoughts came rushing back to you. ‘Wait,’ you said, pushing back lightly to break the kiss, ‘what about Charlie? Is she,’
‘She’s okay. Sam took her to a hospital and they patched her up and she’s going to be fine. So now, we just need to get you back home, yeah?’
‘Yeah,’ you replied, the relief even sounding in your own ears. You laid your head on Dean’s shoulder as he started to drive, finally able to relax.
A couple of hours into the drive and you were fast asleep, your head still resting against his shoulder. Dean was quietly humming along to the Metallica cassette he had playing when his phone rang, when he saw that it was Sam, he picked it up straight away, knowing he’d be calling about you.
‘How’s Charlie doing?’ Dean asked straight away, not bothering with a hello.
‘She’s good, she’s sleeping now but the doctor said I can take her home in a couple of hours. How’s the search for (Y/N) going?’
Dean was silent for a while as he looked down at your sleeping form that was nestled cosily against him and he felt his heart clench at the thought that he could have lost you. He only replied when he was prompted down the line by Sam.
‘I found her, Sammy,’ he said, a soft smile working its way to his lips.

A NOT-COMPLETELY-HEARTBREAKING ENDVERSE!DESTIEL FIC
.
EXCERPT:
Before all this end of the world fuckery, and not that long after the Angel of Thursday soared in on awesome black wings—jackknifing into Dean's jacked-up life—Dean had been so goddamn grateful at realising he had his first real friend, that his lusting over dark hair and the bluest of all baby-blues had just been an inconvenient itch, one he'd simply decided not to scratch. He had a good thing going with Cas. Didn’t want to jeopardize it. So, a mostly closeted but wholly bisexual Dean had put on a plastic jolly-joker mask and ignored the whole damn thing like a seasoned winner. After all, he was the master of pulling on his own puppet-strings to twist his mind and smash his dreams.
But that shit just wouldn't go away.
Instead, it grew. Like bluegrass down by the creek, at the edge of slow-moving water where it was muggy and warm and the mud was soft. Until that sapling became more than just lust. The hardy weed was a constant ache of want growing in Dean's gut, a burning bush that Cas smote with his storm-blue light. And those flames, they caught and licked into Dean's every thought and move. Every decision of every day had an agender that spread so fast into a raging forest wildfire of protectiveness and need and—and something he'd told himself he'd never feel again after Cassie.
Dean knew he had to stop it. Needed to pull all the weapons he owned on its ass, take it down to the boneyard, battered and bound, and kill it. Dead fucking dead. He needed to bury the corpse, salt and goddamn burn it and leave the charcoal-grey ashes to disintegrate into the dirt and the nothingness, leaving only a burned-out hole; the one that now lived in his chest. Because Dean didn't know what to do with such emotion—and he sure as sin didn't deserve a return on it.
But here? Now? It was the sky that was cold and grey and cracking at its seams.
Walking side-by-side with death
The devil mocks their every step
Yeah, like some scene from the tale Led Zeppelin told in No Quarter, it was all about to ignite, to burn down and cave in on the few sorry Joes left in this permanent Halloween party. And Cas? Dean had been treating him like one of the goddamn Croats, keeping him at more than arm's length. Except when his expertise was needed. And that was—it wasn't right. Not like it ever had been but especially not now. At The End. Not when there was nothing left but a reality of fucked up images dreamed up in the mind of a drug-addled rockstar.
Dean should at least try and make amends. Hell, even just take a bunch of stolen flowers and a forced smile to the gravestone that was his and Cas' friendship. Not like he expected to be forgiven, though, let alone be treated like fucking royalty or some shit by Cas. Like he'd just welcome Dean back with loyal, open arms and they'd kiss and make-up as long-lost lovers do. Shit. But—but even if Dean just thanked the guy, at the very fucking least.
Some things never really die.
It was the literal end of the God-damned world and Dean was still hiding from himself.
Here we are.
Yeah, and Dean Winchester was still a fucking coward.
So it goes.

supernatural s14e7 unhuman nature (w. eugenie ross-leming, brad buckner)
finally getting back to nick bashing someone's skull in i gather
Tumblr media
sam the only one that apparently knows how to interact with a healthcare establishment. are they going to try to make me cry? because i really don't want to deal with that today
Tumblr media
thought this diner looked familiar and like something in x-files, well. this super cool site has shows and episodes with pictures from things that filmed there! the magicians, the x-files and i, robot - relevant to my viewing history. need to get spn listed in there too. and i got to that info because the wiki has the also super cool maps with locations for every episode
SAM I mean, this place, we tried, but they've never seen anything like Jack, and we can't exactly tell them what he is. DEAN Then let's get him out of here. Let's bring him home. Let's do what we do. Let's find a way. Hell, I was even thinkin' maybe Rowena… SAM Already called her.
sammy's on the ball. there's always one parent who's best at dealing with the medical stuff
Tumblr media
SAM Somebody is sick, all right, but… Listen, I-I don't know how well you got to know our friend Jack with everything that was going on when you were here, but we've sort of been taking care of him, and, uh, he's, um… Lucifer's son. ROWENA Goodbye. SAM No, no, no. Stop, stop. He's a great kid. His mother was a fantastic human being, a-a-and he wanted nothing to do with Lucifer, w-who is dead, as you know. ROWENA I hope he's rotting.
i'm not on board with her characterization flip flop but i can appreciate this dynamic she has with sam now
ROWENA It's as I suspected. A Nephilim, for all its power, is an unnatural presence. Part human, part angel… It -- It doesn't quite fit. It's delicate. Its grace is what holds it in balance, and when Jack's grace was taken from him, his being fell into chaos. The -- The cells are gobbling each other up.
reminds me of what i mentioned in recap of 12x19
if the kid is half grace wouldn’t you end up with a half a kid :p

variation on the theme. supernatural or mental illness: panic attack edition
i thought i was gonna get through this without it pushing on my dead parents buttons but no such luck. i've been on the receiving end of that conversation with a doctor that their bodies are shutting down. and all told that was 28 and 12 years ago respectively but it can still reduce me to a sobbing wreck pretty damned fast with the right prompts.
Tumblr media
being a good dad with this driving lesson. i am not looking forward to those days, it's gonna stress me the fuck out and you gotta play it cool so you don't stress them the fuck out. double whammy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SAM Yo, Cass, wait. Are you sure you wanna handle this alone? CASS I, uh… I feel the need to do something. And I think Dean's right. We can't afford to overlook any possibility. He seems to be taking this particularly hard. SAM Yeah, yeah. Yeah, he -- he, uh, was pretty rough on Jack at the beginning, and...I don't think he's forgotten. And I know he hasn't forgiven himself. You know, he's lost people, we've all lost people, but, um… CASS This feels different. Losing, um...a son...feels different.
like sam can't even look at him after that. almost want sam to go with him just so that neither one is alone.
i'm reminded of 11x23 where they pushed hard on this dean going to sacrifice himself and saying goodbye at their parents graves and all and. how i knew, we knew, this was going to be walked back. that he wasn't actually dying. now i don't know how long alexander calvert is in the show, how many more episodes, etc. but i do have a very vague idea of where jack is at the end of the series. and i don't want them to kill him off and not have his actor back, but i also really don't want an episode that's making me break down sobbing when it's gonna be magically fixed at the last minute or whatever either. i'm trying to just push through the episode so i don't drag this out another day. not to mention i'm sure i'm going to have a fucking awful headache tomorrow
Tumblr media
JACK You once told me you and your father did the exact same thing. It was your happiest memory of him. DEAN I didn't say that. JACK It was how you said it. I could tell. I guess my point is that… if I don't make it… The stuff I'd miss -- it wouldn't be things like Tahiti. Or the Taj Mahal. I'd miss more time with you. I'm getting that life isn't all these big, amazing moments. It's time together that matters. Like this. DEAN Well, who'd have thought hanging out with me would make you sentimental? JACK I've had a good life, Dean.
dean deflecting, per usual. but yeah. full-on "you're gonna cry" mode.
look at that. rando man we've never heard of happens to have some of gabriel's grace and a special spell. sure. at least it didn't work, i guess. not going for that cheap of an out
Tumblr media Tumblr media
s14e7 / terminator 2: judgement day
pellegrino always delivers but i am so tired of lucifer. the effects were pretty okay until they decided to do this lucifer-empty!terminator skull situation. they gonna end up getting jack-via-lucifer's grace back this way?

It’s been a few days since the outburst, Castiel has come and gone, searching for some more of his brethren. He went to ask Raphael to join him. He said no, however he did tell Castiel something useful. Something about where his oldest brother is.
Michael.
And there he is. Almost as if simply thinking his name summoned him.
Michael the archangel. Michael the all-powerful. Just... Michael.
“Castiel.”
“Michael.”
Gabriel stands not too far off, a glint of mischief in his eyes. Sam stands slightly behind and to the left of him. Gabriel offers some of the popcorn he conjured to Sam, “This should be fun.”
Sam lets out a quiet chuckle before taking a handful of popcorn, “Heh, I guess..”
Tumblr media
“You’re trying to bring Dean Winchester back from Hell?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
And there it is again. That question. The one that Castiel has no idea how the fuck to answer. He stands there in awkward silence for a good ten seconds.
“I- uh- don’t know...”
Michael tilts his head slightly, trying not to look down on Castiel.
Metaphorically of course, physically it’s kind of hard not to.
"Interesting," he says.
"What is?"
Michael disappears.
Tumblr media
"Wait, what?" Sam pushes past Gabe to stand in front of Castiel. The latter turns slightly and looks at Sam.
"You're trying to raise Dean from..." Sam trails off, not wanting to acknowledge where his brother has been this entire time.
"From Hell?"
Sam unconsciously starts to rub at the back of his neck, "Yeah.."
"I am. I thought you knew that."
"Well, yeah. I just, like, thought you were joking."
"Why would I joke about that?"
"I- I don't know," Sam gives a wide gesture, "It's just confusing. Like why... why would you even want to... y'know?"
Castiel ignroes the question, "Why did you want to know about my plans to raise Dean from Hell?"
Behind Sam, Castiel sees Gabe roll his eyes and scoff. He gives his older brother a confused look, and he responds, "You always were dense, little bro. Our friend, Sammy here, doesn't want his brother to be raised."
Tumblr media
"You don't want Dean out of Hell?"
"You do?"
Castiel's brow furrows, "Why wouldn't I?"
Sam gives the angel a disbelieving look, "You don't even know him. You just appeared in Bobby's house a week ago, and told him to translate something - no context provided. And the first time I see you, you get all pissed about Bobby not translating whatever it was that you gave him fast enough, which I can tell stumped Bobby, and believe me, that's a very hard thing to do. And to add on to that, you got all protective when Gabriel said, what, two words about Dean?
"So, I'm sorry if I've got no idea who you are, and I want to know what the fuck you plan on doing to my brother if you can actually raise him."
"When."
"What?"
"Not 'if' I raise him, when. It will happen."
Sam stops talking, and starts pacing a little, "Ok, but you can't do that."
"Why?"
He speeds up, "You can't because he's in Hell. If you raise him, what else is that going to release? What will him being out do to the world? What chain of event is him being out going to set off?"
His breathing is turning slightly erratic, and Gabriel - who is still in the background - stands up a bit straighter, steeping away from the wall he was leaning against.
"Why... why are you bringing him back? What do you want from him! Hasn't he given you assholes enough?" Sam seems like he's about to cry, just barely fighting off the distraught look threatening to spill onto his face.
"Sam, maybe you should leave," Gabe says, just barely loud enough for Castiel to hear him. Sam nods and quickly walks out the door, Gabriel follows closely.
In the silence that follows, the silence that seems to follow the angel everywhere, Castiel answers all of Sams questions.
Tumblr media
Dean hears what the voice says this time, and he's got no idea who they're talking about, but they sound sad.
No, not sad - longing.
And Dean wants to help them.
He's got no idea who they are, or what they want, but he does. He wants to comfort them. to help fill the void they have inside them.
The voice... it gives Dean an aim, a reason.
A hope.
And what it said... well it hit a spot that Dean wasn't even aware he had. All of that meaning packed into just five simple words.
"It's because I need him."

Into You
Fandom: Supernatural
Series: One Shot
Pairing/s: Sam Winchester x Reader
Warning/s: none
Word Count: 681
Request: I love all your Sam Winchester fics! I would like a Sam Winchester imagine where Sam has a crush on the reader and get's jealous of reader being platonically affectionate towards their bff. Also pls use they pronouns and (Y/b/n) (Your best friend's name) or something like that for the name of the friend
Tumblr media
Y/B/N = your bestfriend's name
Sam could see you and your best friend chatting from a distance, sitting in a booth at the diner you'd all pulled up in to grab breakfast, the two of you by the counter giving your orders.
He couldn't see what you were saying but all of a sudden you laughed out loud and put your hand on Y/B/N's arm. Clenching his jaw he looked away, eyeing the menu again even though he'd already given you his order.
Sam knew he shouldn't be jealous, he didn't have any right to be, you weren't together, but he still hated seeing how affectionate you were with each other.
You were both still laughing when you returned to the table, three coffees in hand, both about to sit back down when Y/B/N got a phone call and headed out of the diner, telling you both they'd be back in a minute and not to eat their pancakes when they arrived.
You passed Sam his coffee, eyeing him curiously. "You okay?"
"Fine, why wouldn't I be?" His answer was quick and curt.
You blinked, confused, "I'm... not sure, why wouldn't you be?"
Sam cleared his throat and tried to act normal. No one had ever gotten him worked up like this before, and Dean had never helped, 'hey did you see how good they looked today?' He would say, 'you should tell them how you feel', like it was that easy.
"Sorry, er, didn't sleep well," he tried, but you weren't convinced. You looked at him, saying as much with your expression, so he quickly took a sip of his drink to end the conversation and looked surprised, coughing at how hot it was.
Sam noticed Y/B/N looking at your from out the window questioningly, and then at you as you gave a subtle shake of the head and rubbed your neck, playing off the action as nothing more than an itch as Y/B/N noticed him staring and went back to their phone call, though Sam had a suspicion they weren't talking to anyone.
Now it was Sam's turn to ask: "you okay?"
"Fine, why wouldn't I be?" You replied in kind, pausing as you realised you'd said the same thing as Sam.
"I'm... not sure, why wouldn't you be?" Sam mimicked, grinning slightly at the similarity as you both laughed awkwardly.
"I was just wonder..." you started and then stopped. He waited for you to continue, wondering what you were going to say.
"Wondering..." He encouraged after a moment, a small part of him hoping... no, that would be ridiculous.
"If, you wanted... to grab a drink," you rushed the last part and avoided his gaze.
"Isn't that, what we're doing?" Sam asked stupidly, then mentally kicked himself for doing so, way to be smooth and unobvious.
"Right, yeah, of course, silly me," it was your turn to take a sip of your too hot coffee, cheeks going red as you tried not to react to the hot liquid, hoping the cup in front of your face would hide the blush.
"Oh, you mean, oh," Sam blinked, catching on to the fast that he hadn't misheard you at last.
"No, it's, no forget it," you replied, waving one hand.
"No no, I would, really," he answered, a little eagerly, hoping he hadn't blown his chance.
"You... would?" You clarified, slowly lowering your mug.
"Yeah," he chuckled, "I just thought, I mean that you and-" He pointed out of the window to Y/B/N and then back to you. You got his meaning.
"What, us two?" You laughed at the absurdity of picturing yourself dating your best friend.
"Yeah, you're always so close, I just assumed," Sam trailed off, a little embarrassed himself now.
"No, Sam, we've been friends for years, it's platonic, nothing more," you explained.
"Good," Sam nodded, pleased, and smiled, "because I'd love to grab a drink with you."
You glanced out window with a big smile and a small nod. Y/B/M gave you a double thumbs up in return, excitedly shaking their arms as they grinned, and both you and Sam laughed.

Y/N blinked rapidly, her eyes adjusting to the light in the room as the late morning sun streamed in through the windows. Turning onto her back, she ran her hands over her face, willing herself to wake up. She turned her head to the side, sighing as she didn’t see her fiancé next to her. He was no doubt also waking up at that point, in his childhood home.
She smiled as she stared up at the ceiling, already anticipating what the rest of the day was going to be like for her and for him. She couldn’t wait to see him later, her heart already longing for him since the previous night after they separated.
Now, after months and months of planning, the big day had finally arrived.
Their wedding day.
Y/N threw the covers back, a kick in her step as she got up and walked into the bathroom. She brushed her teeth and freshened up, and then left to go down to the kitchen, smelling the aromas of breakfast wafting up the stairs. She smiled as she walked in, seeing Charlie at the stove, scrambling eggs and frying bacon. The kitchen island had a spread of bagels, cream cheese, toast, jams, peanut butter and a box of Coco Puffs. As Charlie cooked, she looked up and smiled when she saw her come in.
“Morning, bride!” Her cheery exclaim made Y/N laugh as she walked over, hugging her.
Charlie, Meg, Jill and Y/N’s nieces had spent the night at the house, where they’d all be getting everything prepped before they went over to the venue. They were getting ready in the big ranch house, one room dedicated to them as another was for Dean and the groomsmen.
“Morning. This all looks amazing,” Y/N sighed, as her eyes glided over all the food.
“Figured you better eat a big breakfast because who knows when we’re going to eat next,” Charlie said, plating the eggs and bacon from the pans.
“This is true,” Y/N agreed as she sat on one of the stools at the island.
Meg and Jill came down, dressed in casual t-shirts and jeans, Mia in Jill’s arms as Evie took the stairs down carefully in front of her.
“Aunty Y/N!” she yelled as ran over, trying desperately to hop into Y/N’s lap. She reached down and pulled her up, a fake sluggish groan leaving her.
“You’re growing too fast, kiddo,” Y/N joked, kissing the top of Evie’s head.
Jill sat next to her and put Mia on her lap, putting some peanut butter on toast for her. Mia frowned; her eyes suddenly glowing as she looked at the box of Coco Puffs.
“Puffs,” she said, pointing to the box.
“Mia,” Jill warned, giving her a stern look. “You can’t eat only Coco Puffs for breakfast.”
“Can I have some mommy?” Evie asked, voice as sweet as honey, thinking she could wrap her mom around her finger.
Jill, unrelenting in her discipline, looked between her daughters. “No.”
They both pouted, and Jill feared they were both about to throw tantrums, but luckily, they were in the clear as they both sulked.
“Hey,” Y/N whispered in Evie’s ear. She reached into her own plate and took a small piece of bacon, offering it to the little girl. “Want some?”
Evie nodded enthusiastically, biting into the piece. She chewed it and smiled.
“Good, huh?” Y/N asked, smiling.
Evie kept nodding, smiling up at her aunt. “Do you like bacon, aunty Y/N?”
“I do, but you know who loves it even more?” Y/N said, lifting an eyebrow.
“Who?” Evie looked at her with big, curious eyes as she waited for an answer.
“Uncle Dean,” Y/N stated, smiling.
The little girl’s smile widened as she took a little more of the bacon, as everyone continued to eat around the island.
Y/N smiled as she continued eating, wondering what her beloved fiancé and soon to be husband was doing at that moment.
Tumblr media
Dean lifted the coffee mug to his lips, taking a slow sip of the dark liquid. He breathed in, letting out a peaceful exhale as he sat down on the steps of the back porch at his childhood home. He smiled as he looked around the yard, remembering all the great times he and his family had there.
He let out a small huff as a smirk grew on his face, still not quite believing what day was upon him. He was getting married today. Him. If someone had told him years ago that he was going to meet the most incredible woman and get married, he would’ve laughed in their face. He was with someone else and marriage wasn’t on the cards. Then Y/N came and changed everything he thought to be true, showing him what was real. She was real.
Hearing footsteps behind him, he glanced up and smiled as his mom sat down next to him, a coffee mug of her own in hand.
“Doing okay?” she asked, smiling softly.
“So far, yeah,” he replied, with a small nod.
“Good,” she sighed, lifting her hand and rubbing his shoulder. “I know I don’t have to worry about this, but make sure you eat properly today, okay?”
“Yeah.” He smiled at her and turned his head to look back at the garden. “Mom?”
Mary took a sip of her coffee before she turned to him. “Yeah, sweetie?”
“Did you… did you ever think I’d get here?” he asked, a nervous smile tugging at his lips.
She smiled, knowing that was probably what his thought process had been all morning.
“Yeah, I did. I really did,” she replied, softly. “I knew it would take time… but I knew that when she got here, whoever she was, was going to knock you out.”
He laughed, nodding. “She really did.”
“I’m so glad you found her,” Mary said, quietly.
“I love her so damn much,” he whispered, his eyes closing as small doubts started to filter in. “I can’t screw this up.”
Mary shook her head, squeezing his shoulder to let him know she was there. “You won’t.”
Leaning over, she wrapped her arm around him and hugged him, tightly. He sighed, willing the doubts to leave his mind. He didn’t need them today.
“Thanks, mom,” he said, as they pulled away from each other.
“You’re welcome.” She moved in and kissed his cheek, quickly standing up from the steps. “Alright, we better eat and get this day rolling!”
He chuckled as he stood, wrapping his arm around her as they walked into the house.
He was more than ready to get on with the day and finally see Y/N.
Tumblr media
Y/N’s fingers glided over the fabric; her smile radiant as she admired the wedding dress hanging up on the door in front of her. Pulling her silk robe tighter around her body, she stepped back to look at the full silhouette, a giddiness settling deep within her belly. She couldn’t believe that in just a couple short hours she was going to be marrying Dean, in front of all their friends and family.
She was so nervous she felt like she could throw up. She wasn’t having cold feet by any means, but her nerves came from the fact that something could go wrong, and she wouldn’t be able to stop it from happening. What if Dean changed his mind? She knew he loved her unconditionally and there was no rational thought behind what she was thinking, but she couldn’t help that her mind was an endless fount of doubt in that moment.
However, as she looked around the room she was about to get ready in, seeing her bridesmaids fixing some last-minute things, her mom looking after her nieces and all of the hair and make-up spread out on a table, the worries gave way to hope. Hope that everything was going to be fine.
“Y/N, we’re ready for you,” one of the make-up artists said, smiling at her.
Smiling back, she sat down in her chair in front of the mirror, letting out a deep breath as she looked at her reflection. She glanced to the side, seeing Charlie come up behind her as the woman doing her make-up started.
“How are you? Can I get you anything?” Charlie asked, taking Y/N’s hand in hers.
She shook her head, squeezing Charlie’s hand. “No, I’m good for now.”
“Okay,” Charlie said, kissing Y/N’s head.
Y/N smiled as she retreated, helping Jill tie the ribbons around the bridesmaids’ bouquets. Her eyes caught Meg coming into the room, shaking her head as she carried her dress bag and shoes, dressed in jeans and a black t-shirt. She had gone back to her apartment because like an idiot she had forgotten her heels and had come to the venue with Cas.
“Hey, I’m so sorry I’m late! Cas drives so fu-” she started, rushing over to Y/N and kissed her cheek, biting her lip as she was about to swear. She glanced back at Evie and Mia in the room, sighing in relief that they were preoccupied with their grandmother. “So freaking slow.”
Y/N laughed, waving her off. “You’re fine, we’ve still got plenty of time.”
“Okay, good,” Meg sighed, walking into the little bathroom attached to the room. A few minutes later, she emerged in her light pink silk robe, the same as Jill, Eileen and Charlie’s.
The make-up artist dabbed foundation on Y/N’s face, as Meg walked over and handed her a glass of water.
“I saw the guys getting ready, too,” Meg said, sitting down in the chair next to Y/N, as the other hair and make-up artist started on her make-up too. “Dean said to tell you not to worry so much and have fun.”
Y/N couldn’t keep the smile off her face as she thought about her soon to be husband being worried about the fact that she must be unnecessarily nervous.
“Is he okay?” she asked, closing her eyes as the woman started on her eye make-up.
“He is,” Meg replied, sipping her own water. “More than okay, just can’t wait to see you. He’s not gonna know what hit him when he sees you in the dress.”
As they completed Y/N’s look, her hair in an intricate bun and a few locks framing her face, she stood up and faced her bridesmaids, smiling as they all hugged and stood in a circle. Jill picked up the bottle of champagne from the ice bucket on the table, popping it open. She poured some into six glasses, their mom getting up from the armchair and joining them. They each took a glass and faced Y/N, who smiled brightly as Jill wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
“A toast to my baby sister on her wedding day… I’m keeping this short and saving most of it for my matron of honor speech, but I love you so much and I’m so happy for you, that you found the perfect person to share your life with,” Jill said, kissing her forehead.
“I love you,” Y/N said, hugging Jill tight.
“To Y/N!” they all said, clinking their glasses together. They all sipped the sparkling liquid, sitting back down to relax a little before they had to put their dresses on.
Y/N sighed as she sat down, humming as she felt her mom rubbing soothing circles on her back. “Just relax,” Meredith said, smiling.
“Thanks, mom,” Y/N whispered, looking up at her mother.
“Are you alright?” Meredith asked, softly.
“Yeah, I’m alright,” Y/N replied, nodding. “I just can’t believe I’m finally here.” A smile tugged at her lips, butterflies erupting in her stomach as flashes of her life so far with Dean came to her.
“I still can’t ever forget you gushing about him when we went for drinks after work, only a few weeks into being in Lawrence,” Charlie chimed in, beaming as she took sips of her champagne.
“God, that somehow feels like it was forever ago and like it was yesterday at the same time,” Y/N stated, thinking back on that night. The one that solidified that there was something more between her and Dean than just friendship.
Evie came up to Y/N and climbed into her lap, wanting to sit with her aunt. She kissed the little girl’s head and stroked her soft hair, looking adorable in her little flower girl dress.
“Okay, what’s your favorite thing about Dean?” Meg asked, smirking.
Y/N glared at her playfully, shaking her head as she knew what her friend was thinking. She only thought about it for a second, knowing without a doubt what her favorite thing about Dean was.
“His heart,” she replied, simply. “His heart is so big, sometimes I think he doesn’t know what to do with all that love he’s got in there. He just cares about everyone close to him so much, and he’s always willing to help someone out. And… the way he cares about me, no one’s ever made me feel the way he does.”
“Oh my god, Y/N,” Charlie sighed, already getting teary. “I’m just so glad he has someone like you. I can’t even imagine where he’d be if you never came into his life.”
“Life definitely changed for the better, that’s for sure,” Y/N said, smiling.
“For all of us,” Meg added, clinking her glass with Charlie and Eileen’s.
“I’ll drink to that,” Eileen signed, winking at Y/N.
“Our oldest friend is marrying our best friend.” Charlie got up and walked over to Y/N, hugging her.
“Mommy, I’m hungry,” little Evie’s voice interrupted, as she looked at Jill from Y/N’s lap.
“Mom, can you take them to get something to eat?” Jill asked Meredith, as she was still in her robe.
“Of course,” Meredith replied, taking Evie’s hand as she hopped off Y/N. She picked up Mia who had been playing with her dolls and led them to the door.
“Meredith,” Eileen called out, getting the older woman’s attention. “Mary’s got Elliot with her in the dining hall, so you can join them there.”
“Perfect, thanks Eileen,” Meredith said, smiling at her before she took the girls out of the room.
Y/N stood up from the chair and walked across the room, looking out the window with her champagne glass in hand. The girls looked at her knowingly, giving her a little space before they had to start getting into the dresses. Taking out the folded paper from her bra, she opened it, her eyes scanning over the words she had written as vows to Dean. She smiled as she thought about how she would get to say them soon, about how he would say his and they would be united.
She couldn’t wait to see him and finally be his forever.

Dean’s hands shook as his fingers nimbly buttoned up his crisp white shirt. Letting out a large exhale, he closed his eyes and tried to calm himself down. His mind started becoming more and more clouded with worries as the time got closer to the ceremony, his self-deprecating thoughts circling around and causing him to doubt everything. He had told Meg when she left to join Y/N and the other bridesmaids to tell his soon-to-be wife not to worry about anything, and yet here he was, doing the exact same thing.
His groomsmen, Benny, Cas, Brian (who he had gotten to know really well and wanted him to be part of the ceremony to make things special for Y/N), and Sam who was his best man, were all dressed in their suits, laughing and chatting in the main room. He had told them to give him a minute, needing some time to himself as he got dressed. It was less than an hour now until he and Y/N finally became husband and wife. That thought made his heart soar but also made his stomach flip with nerves. What if he said or did something and he ruined everything? What if he got up to the altar and she didn’t walk down the aisle?
A knock on the door of the bathroom broke him from his negative thoughts. He tucked his shirt into his pants neatly, and gave a quick “yeah” as a signal for the person to come in.
“You decent?” he heard Sam ask, as the door opened slightly.
“Yeah,” he replied, gruffly as he fixed his shirt in the mirror.
Sam opened the door and came in, immediately sensing something was wrong with the expression on Dean’s face.
“You alright?” he asked, softly, not wanting anyone in the other room to hear them.
Dean scoffed, shaking his head. “Not really.”
“What’s going on?” Sam went into protective mode, ready to be there for Dean for whatever he wanted to say or needed at that moment.
“Nothing major, Sammy,” Dean sighed, shutting his eyes tightly. “Just can't get past the thoughts in my head.”
“Hey, look at me,” Sam said, turning Dean towards him and looking directly at him as he put his hands on shoulders. “Everything’s going to be fine. Whatever you’re thinking right now, none of it is going to happen. You’re going to be out there soon, and you’re going to marry Y/N and everything is going to work out the way it’s meant to.”
“Less than an hour,” Dean whispered. Shaking his head, he let out a small, bitter chuckle. “Still time for her to run.”
“She’s not going to run,” Sam told him, a confident smile on his face as he shook his head. “Just think about everything you’ve been through together and remember how much you love her. How much she loves you. Remember that and everything will be fine.”
Dean breathed in deep, and as he let it out, a smile came to his face knowing that Sam was right. He was letting those negative thoughts win again, and he was done letting them control him. It was his wedding day, a day he never thought he’d get to see, but couldn’t have been more excited to finally have. He couldn’t wait to see Y/N in her dress and to finally be hers forever.
“You’re right,” he said, nodding at his little brother. “Thanks, Sammy.”
“No problem,” Sam said, smiling. “So… shall we?” He gestured towards the other room, knowing time was ticking away and they needed to start moving.
“Yeah.” Dean gave him a confident nod, a wide grin gracing his face as he pushed away the self-deprecation and concentrated on Y/N and what was going to happen soon.
They walked into the other room that was occupied by his side of the wedding party, seeing them sitting around, empty tumbler glasses waiting on the table with a bottle of his favorite whiskey.
“There he is, man of the hour,” Benny said, his cheery Southern accent filling the room. He got up and picked up the bottle, cracking it open. Pouring a couple of fingers into each glass, he handed them over to each of the groomsmen and Dean.
“I’m going to save most of what I want to say in my speech later, but…” Sam started as he turned to his older brother. “I’m so happy for you, man, that you found the woman you’ve been waiting for.”
“To Dean!” They all cheered and clinked their tumblers together, drinking the amber liquid.
“Thanks, Sammy,” Dean said, tapping his little brother on the shoulder.
The door to the room opened, and Dean looked to his right, seeing his father and Y/N’s walk in. He gulped nervously as David walked over to him, a small smile on his face.
“How are you, sir?” Dean asked, offering his hand to shake.
“Good, but I think I should be asking you that,” David replied, shaking his hand with a small laugh.
“Better now.” Dean didn’t add anything else, not wanting to draw attention to the fact that he was having doubts just a few minutes before. Taking a sip of his whiskey, Dean looked up at David, a small, nervous smile on his face.
“Sir, I… I wanted to thank you. For trusting me with Y/N. I promise you that I’ll always take care of her,” he told David, his voice firm with conviction.
David smiled, nodding. “I’m glad to hear it.”
He walked forward, putting his arms around Dean into a hug, one that solidified the bond between their families. Pulling away, they smiled at each other before David stepped back, leaving Dean to finish getting ready.
“Hey,” Sam got his attention as he walked over. “I’m just going to quickly check in on Elliot and then see Eileen. Are you going to be okay?”
“Don’t worry about me, Sammy,” Dean stated, smirking. “I’ll be fine.”
“Okay.” Sam nodded and retreated back, walking across the room and shutting the door behind him.
Dean looked at himself in the mirror by the window, trying to tie his bowtie properly. He gave it a few tries, growling in frustration as he couldn’t get it right, his hands started to shake again.
“Here, let me,” he heard his dad say, as he walked over and turned Dean towards him.
“Thanks, dad,” Dean sighed, lifting his head so John could see properly.
“No problem.” John smiled as he started tying the bowtie for Dean. “I remember doing this for you for prom.”
Dean huffed a small laugh, lifting an eyebrow. “Bet you never thought you’d be doing it for my wedding.”
John smiled, knowingly. “I did think I’d be doing it. I always knew you’d get here.”
He fixed the bowtie and then folded the collar back down. “All done.”
He picked up Dean’s suit jacket and held it up, pulling it up onto his shoulders once he put his arms through. Dean fixed it to fit properly on his shoulders, frowning a little as it felt weird to be wearing a suit.
“It’s just for a few hours,” John said, knowing what his son was thinking by the expression on his face.
“Yeah,” Dean agreed, as he pinned the small flowers to the lapel of his suit.
“Dean,” John said, getting his son’s attention. Taking out a small box from his pants pocket, he handed it over to his son, a proud smile on his face. “I have something for you.”
With a confused look on his face, Dean took the box from his dad. Opening it, his eyes widened as he saw a pair of old, silver cufflinks sitting in there, immediately recognizing them.
“Grandpa’s,” he whispered, breathing heavily as a wave of emotion came over him.
“He’d want you to have them,” John said, smiling as he took them from Dean, taking them out and putting the box back in his pocket. He lifted Dean’s left hand and attached them to the end of the sleeve, repeating the action on the other.
“Thanks, dad,” Dean said, smiling.
John shook his head, pulling Dean into a tight hug. “You don’t have to ever thank me, Dean. I’m so proud of you.”
The younger Winchester’s eyes closed, his smile growing as he hugged his father. All his life, he had looked up to his dad, wanting to be just like him. While things had happened in the past and he saw a different side to him, Dean knew his dad worked hard to give them a life they deserved, one filled with joy and laughter, all while overcoming obstacles along the way and becoming a stronger unit because of it. He knew that despite some troubles, he saw a good and loving marriage between his parents, and one he hoped he would have with Y/N.

Y/N stepped into her dress, standing up straight as Charlie and Jill pulled it up and slipped the straps over her arms. The sheer low cut back came down to a zip and button closure, which Jill did for her, smiling over her shoulder. Y/N fixed the front, making sure the low front was secure over her breasts, smoothing her hands down the front of the dress. She caught Mary’s eyes through the mirror as she stood behind her with Elliot, smiling at her through teary eyes. Meredith came over, the veil carefully cradled in her arms as she stood behind Y/N. She watched as her mom clipped the veil into her hair just above her bun, fluffing it to fall delicately over the silhouette of her dress. Her mom had a few tears fall down her face, and Y/N was trying desperately not to cry in that moment.
“You look so beautiful,” Meredith choked out, looking at her younger daughter.
“Thanks, mom,” Y/N said, her voice shaking.
“Okay, no crying yet, we can’t ruin our make-up,” Charlie added, wiping lightly under her eyes, avoiding her make-up.
Everyone laughed and tried to take breaths, making sure they didn’t have to re-do any of their make-up. Y/N smiled as she clipped on her grandmother’s silver bracelet to her wrist, and put on the diamond drop earrings, completing the look. She spied little Evie coming up next to her, looking at her with big, round eyes full of wonder.
“Aunty Y/N, you look like a princess,” she said, smiling up at her aunt.
Y/N laughed a little as she bent down slightly, kissing her head. “Thank you, honey. You look so beautiful.”
Evie blushed as she giggled, which melted Y/N’s heart even more. She and Mia had matching off-white flower girl dresses with pastel pink sashes around the waist tied into bows at the back, both complete with matching headbands and shoes. As Y/N adjusted the front of her dress, a knock at the door alerted everyone.
Eileen opened the door, smiling as Sam walked in and kissed her, quickly. “Everything okay with Elliot?”
“Yeah, he’s great,” she replied, looking up at him as she bounced their son lightly in her arms. A smile spread across her face as she nodded towards Y/N. “Turn around.”
Sam turned, suddenly in awe as he looked at his soon-to-be sister-in-law. “Y/N. Oh my god.”
Y/N laughed, twirling the dress slightly. “Think Dean will like it?”
“Like? He’s going to lose his mind,” Sam replied, shaking his head as he beamed at her.
“How is he?” she asked, a longing in the tone of her voice. She couldn’t wait to see him.
“He’s good,” Sam replied, a little too quickly. She knew something was wrong.
“He’s freaking out.” It wasn’t a question considering she knew how Dean’s mind worked.
“He was, but I talked him down. He’s good now, I swear,” Sam promised, firmly.
She nodded but she knew she needed to do something, somehow, to convince him that things were okay and to not freak out.
“Mom, can you hand me that note pad and a pen,” Y/N said, gesturing to the items she wanted on the table in the far corner.
Meredith brought them over, and Y/N immediately scribbled something on it, quickly. Tearing the page off, she folded it and handed it over to Sam.
“Give him that when you get to the altar, okay?” she asked, smiling.
“Sure thing,” he replied, holding it securely in his hand. “We’re going to head out there.”
“See you soon.” She couldn’t keep the smile off her face, more than ready to go out there and marry the man of her dreams.
“See you soon,” he repeated, winking at her.
He turned his mom and offered his arm to her, Mary taking it immediately with her own wink at Y/N. He took Elliot from Eileen and carried him in his other, all of them leaving the room and shutting the door, lightly.
Y/N smiled as she turned back to the mirror, taking in her full appearance. It was almost time and she couldn’t be happier.

John, Mary, Sam and Dean sat under the trees, in the front row of chairs all lined up and starting to be filled as the guests arrived. Elliot sat in Mary’s lap, looking around curiously at everything. They all looked out past the arch covered in flowers for Dean and Y/N to stand under, past the trees and saw the lake, the sun shining off the surface of the water on the most beautiful and perfect day they could’ve hoped for the wedding. As he sat with his family, Dean couldn’t help but think about all the memories the Winchesters had made there.
He stood up from the chair, watching as people arrived. He saw Jody and the girls arrive, smiling brightly at them. She blew him a kiss and he laughed, blowing one back. After them, he spotted Donna, her blonde locks blowing slightly in the breeze. She saw him, circled her finger in the air to gesture to the suit, and mouthed a “nice!”. He smirked as he winked at her, causing her to laugh before she sat down next to Jody. He looked next to him, seeing Sam looking down at his watch.
“Five minutes,” he said, looking up at Dean.
Dean let out a breath, nodding. “Guess we better stand.”
“Don’t worry, honey. Everything’s going to be great,” Mary said, quickly standing up and kissing his cheek. She held Elliot in her arms, making sure he was sitting in her lap properly as she took her seat again.
Dean stood up under the arch with the female officiant who was already there, Sam standing next to Dean as the groomsmen stood off to the side near the trees, waiting for the bridesmaids. Remembering what Y/N had given him, Sam reached into his pocket and took out the note, nudging Dean.
“I saw Y/N earlier, asked me to give you this,” he whispered, handing over the paper.
Taking it, Dean opened the paper. He had calmed down considerably since Sam spoke to him in the dressing room, but when he read the words on the paper in Y/N’s pretty handwriting, he felt the weight completely lift off his chest.
Don’t be scared.
I love you.
He felt tears prick his eyes, but he cleared his throat and folded the paper into his pants pocket, blinking rapidly to stop them from flowing. Seeing those words was exactly what he needed at that moment.
He was more ready than he ever was to get the show on the road.

Y/N, Jill, David and Meredith walked up the gravel path, the girls behind them as they held Y/N’s dress up off the ground as she walked. She was doing considerably well in her sparkly, pointed-toe heels, but she knew by the time the reception rolled around she would be taking them off. She didn’t care, however, as she was just more than ready to see her man.
“I haven’t told you yet, but-” David whispered, leaning into her. “You look so beautiful, honey.”
“Thanks, dad,” she whispered back, kissing his cheek.
They made it to the end of the path, hidden behind the trees so that no one would see them.
Meredith turned to Y/N, cupping her face in her hands, her eyes blurry with tears. “I love you, so much.”
“I love you, too, mom,” Y/N choked out, blinking to keep her tears at bay.
They kissed each other’s cheeks and hugged, Meredith quickly walking down to the clearing, down the aisle and taking her seat in the front row on Y/N’s side. She looked at Dean and smiled, getting a smile back from him as he waited.
Y/N watched as Cas, Benny and Brian walked over to them, as they stood next to their respective bridesmaid. Cas took Charlie’s arm, Benny took Meg’s and Brian took Eileen’s as they lined up in front of Jill, Evie and Mia. Each of the bridesmaids stood with their bouquet of Oriental Lilies, while her nieces had their little baskets filled with light pink rose petals, the only roses Y/N had for the wedding. She stood behind them, as David took his place on her right.
“Ready?” he asked, looking at her.
“So ready,” she replied, smiling wide. She laughed a little, shaking her head. “Just please, don’t let me fall.”
“Never,” he whispered, kissing her temple. Offering his arm, Y/N wrapped her right one around, holding her bouquet of Calla Lilies tight in her left hand.
Before she knew it, the music started from the speaker off to the side of the altar, and it was show time. Taking a deep breath in, she released it as she watched the bridal party walk out, ready for her turn down the aisle.
Tumblr media
The soft violin started from the hidden speaker, the tune immediately recognizable to Dean as Thank You by Led Zeppelin, but instrumental.
He felt all his emotions beginning to rise to the surface, but he tried to keep himself calm as he watched the bridal party come down the aisle. Cas and Charlie were first, both sharing a smile with him. Cas took his place next to Sam, as Charlie couldn’t resist coming up and quickly hugging Dean, kissing his cheek. Benny and Meg walked in behind them, and he fist bumped his other best friend and work partner before he took his place next to Cas. Brian and Eileen followed and stood at their respective sides, waiting for the rest of the party.
Dean watched as Jill walked down, winking at him as she walked over to the left side, standing in front of Charlie. All the guests admired and ‘awed’ at Evie and Mia, as they dropped the petals from their little baskets onto the covered ground. They went and sat down with Meredith, after having done their duty as flower girls.
The music began to soar as Y/N held onto her father’s arm tightly, walking slowly with him towards the aisle. She looked at her father, giving him a little nod to let him know she was ready. She felt tears collect in her eyes as she started walking, seeing everyone standing and smiling at her. Everyone who was special to them was there, and she was so grateful.
Just as the tempo changed, Dean felt a catch in his throat as he finally saw Y/N, on the arm of her father. He didn’t think he could be as speechless as he was at that moment. Time completely stood still, as all he could see was her. He had seen Y/N dressed up several times, on so many occasions that were special to them, where she had looked absolutely beautiful. However, the vision of her gliding towards him like an angel, with the most radiant smile on her face, was an image that would stay with him until the day he took his last breath. He was overwhelmed, willing himself to keep composure, but he knew he was failing as a tear slipped down her face.
Y/N smiled, feeling the tears threatening to fall down her face as she saw Dean looking at her. At that moment, she saw no one else. He looked so incredibly handsome in his suit, but his face, with a smile of his own and his eyes glassy, was the most beautiful sight she could have seen. As she got closer, she saw a tear roll down his right cheek, and she felt one of her own escape, as overcome by this moment as he was.
Y/N stopped at the end of the aisle, as Dean stepped towards her. They looked into each other’s eyes, both of them smiling as their vision blurred behind unshed tears. She turned to her dad and kissed his cheek, his own smile speaking volumes as he took her hand and placed it in Dean’s, giving him a small nod that held the weight of the moment. They continued to look at each other as David sat down with Meredith, who was already a mess of emotions.
Dean and Y/N stepped closer to the officiant, turning to face each other as they held hands. He shook his head, his eyes gliding up her dress and looking into hers, a small smile on his face as he tried to let her know with a look how beautiful she was, as words were something he couldn’t manage in that moment. He had to save his voice for his vows, which were going to be even more nerve-wracking now. The music turned off and the officiant, Cindy, looked between them, ready to start the ceremony. The interpreter stood off to the side, closer to Eileen so that she could see properly. Cindy was a short woman with greying hair, thick black glasses and the sunniest personality they both had ever seen, smiling as she began the ceremony.
“Dearly beloved, we gathered here today to witness and celebrate the marriage of Y/N Y/L/N and Dean Winchester.”
Dean breathed deeply, his eyes never leaving Y/N’s as did the same. Cindy went on to see a few things she learnt about them as a couple as she got to know them before this day, both of them beaming at each other as she spoke.
“So, let’s get these two married, shall we?” she asked, laughing.
Everyone joined in, with cheers and claps all around, including the bridal party behind Dean and Y/N.
“Dean and Y/N have each prepared their own vows which they’ll share now, before I ask them a couple of questions. Y/N, why don’t you go first,” Cindy said, looking at her.
Y/N nodded, turning slightly and taking the piece of paper that Jill handed to her. She opened it and looked at Dean, smiling at him as he looked at her intently. She looked down at her words, tears threatening to fall.
“Dean.” She glanced at him again quickly, before concentrating on her words, not wanting to mess up. “For a long time, I wondered if I’d ever find someone who I could truly be myself with. Someone who would protect me and never hurt me, someone who would never let me fall. Someone who would challenge me. Someone who would love me unconditionally, without any selfish gain. For a moment, it felt as if I’d never find it. That I’d never get out of that dark place that I was in. Then, life prompted me to make the greatest decision of my life; to move to Lawrence, Kansas of all places. It may have seemed like a strange choice, but it was ultimately the right one, because that choice led me to finding you.”
She looked up at him, a tear now rolling down her face as she smiled through them. He was barely hanging on, and it warmed her heart to see all the love in his eyes.
“Dean, You got me out of that dark place. You’re my light, and I promise to always be yours too. I promise to always be your rock, to tell you just how much I respect you and appreciate you, to be your protector through any obstacle that comes our way, and to never doubt you or let you doubt yourself. I promise to love you forever, Dean Winchester.” As she finished, she looked up to see Dean subtly bend his head and wipe a tear away, turning back to her with a smile.
Cindy gave Y/N a wink before turning to Dean, a small nod letting him know it was his turn. He turned to Sam, who gave him his vows with a small smile, tapping his upper arm before Dean turned back to Y/N. He opened the folded paper, taking a deep breath as he hoped that his words would get his point across.
“It’s a good thing we gotta write these down, because I’m not good with words,” he said, looking up from the paper before he read it. “Even what I wrote might not be great, so-”
He stopped rambling as he felt Y/N’s hand slip into the one that wasn’t holding the paper, grasping it tightly. He looked at her and saw her smiling, her eyes holding all the promises she had just made. He smirked at her, knowing he could do this.
“I never thought of myself as the “get married” type of guy,” he started, looking intently at his vows. “Not for any other reason than I didn’t think it was on the cards for me. Then… right when I thought life was dealing me the short straw… I found you.” He looked up at Y/N, beaming at her as she did the same, her eyes watery.
“Y/N, you came into my life when I needed you most. You helped me understand what it meant to be supported, appreciated and respected. What it meant to be loved. You helped me get out of the cage I was in, and you helped me realize that I deserve better than what I had. I don’t think I’ve ever been happier that that “better” was you. You… you saved me,” he said, his voice hitching as he looked up at her, his eyes shining. He cleared his throat from the emotions he was feeling, looking down at his paper again. “Y/N, I promise you… I’ll always be there to tell you how much you mean to me, how much I appreciate you and respect you. I’ll always support you the way you have with me, and I’ll be your shield any time you feel that dark cloud coming in. I’ll never let anyone, or anything hurt you. I’m going to love you for the rest of this life and into the next, sweetheart.”
“Dean,” she gasped, shaking her head in wonder of her soon-to-be husband.
“Was that okay?” he asked, softly, nerves reflected on his features as he looked at her.
“It was beautiful,” she whispered.
“That was amazing, wasn’t it?” Cindy asked, receiving several cheers from the guests.
Dean and Y/N looked at their families, seeing both their mothers incredibly overwhelmed as they wiped away their tears.
“Alright, let’s do this,” Cindy said, smiling. “Can we have the rings?”
Jill and Sam both handed the rings to Y/N and Dean respectively, both of them smiling as Dean took her left hand. They couldn’t believe how close they were to being married.
“Dean,” Cindy started, turning to him. “Do you take Y/N Y/L/N to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, loving and honoring her all the days of your life, until death parts you?”
Dean smiled as images of Y/N when they first met on that fateful day and every incredible moment between them since then, flashed before his eyes. “I do,” he said, with more confidence than he had ever had in his life.
He slid the platinum wedding band onto her ring finger, sitting on top of her engagement ring. Y/N looked at him, her eyes never wanting to leave his as Cindy turned to her. She asked the same question of Y/N, who refused to look anywhere else than at the love of her life standing in front of her.
“I do,” Y/N stated, never breaking eye contact with the wonderful man looking back at her, as flashes of their life so far crossed her mind. She looked down briefly, sliding the matching platinum band onto his finger.
The anticipation crept up within them, more than ready to be declared husband and wife.
“Well, I guess it’s time then, isn’t it?” Cindy laughed, looking between both of them. “By the power invested by the state of Kansas, in front of your dear family and friends, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Dean,” Cindy declared, raising an eyebrow as she smiled at Dean.
Leaning forward, Dean’s arms wrapped around Y/N’s waist as he pulled her as close as he could. Her arms wrapped around his neck, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss. It was as if time stood still, as if every kiss until this one was only a teaser, their souls now connected forever. Everyone stood up and clapped, cheered and called out their congratulations, but the couple only heard them briefly.  After a moment, he pulled away and gave her the most beautiful smile she had ever seen on his face. They gave each other a few more short kisses, before they turned and smiled at everyone.
“Family and friends, I am delighted to present for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Winchester!” Cindy yelled, clapping excitedly.
Dean took Y/N’s hand, both of them making their way down the aisle, waving at their families and promising to see them soon. They walked off behind the trees, a moment alone before the photographs started. Dean cupped her face, pulling her into another passionate kiss.
“I love you so much,” he whispered between kisses.
“I love you, too,” she whispered back, desperate to keep kissing him.
“You’re my wife,” he said, laughing happily as he bit his lip.
“You’re my husband,” she sighed, kissing him again.
Their lips locked in a passionate exchange, not wanting to let go of each other. They stayed in each other’s embrace for a few moments, eventually pulling away from each other, knowing they needed to get to the next part of the day.
“Shall we?” he asked, looking deep into her eyes.
“Absolutely,” she replied, kissing him once more.
He offered her his arm, ready to take her to the photographer and start the rest of their special day. Y/N smiled and hooked her arm around Dean’s, strolling down the path with him as they held each other close.
Tumblr media
The photographs took a bit of time, getting everyone coordinated and organized. They took family photos, with the bridal party, in every combination they could manage, before their photographer took pictures of just Y/N and Dean. He took them at more natural points, and based on that, they were excited to see what they would look like.
Once they were finished, they walked down the path and over to the reception, small chandeliers hanging from the top of the tent, and beautiful flower arrangements at the tables. Everyone turned to look at them and cheered as they came in, Dean taking Y/N’s hand and twirling her around the empty space that would be used as a dance floor. They had decided to get their first dance in, not wanting to pause the reception later and be the centre of attention even more than they already were.
Dean smiled at Y/N as he held her hand, pulling her in close as his other one rested on her hip. They looked into each other’s eyes, the song they had chosen floating in through the speakers. Y/N had told him about it, and after listening to it, he was on board straight away. It may not have been classic rock, but it was a classic in its own right and the cover that they had chosen of it suited the feel of their wedding.
Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
And dance me to the end of love
Please dance me to the end of love
“You look so beautiful,” he stated, smiling down at her. “I couldn’t get that out when I saw you.”
“Well, now I can tell you how handsome you look, too,” she said, softly.
There may have been people around them watching as they danced, but their eyes were only on each other as they moved to the music. He leaned his forehead against hers, both of them wearing identical smiles as they swayed slowly. Tilting his head slightly, he kissed her nose softly, bringing her in closer.
“I can’t wait to spend forever with you,” she whispered, looking into his eyes.
“I can’t wait either, sweetheart,” he whispered back, leaning in and kissing her, passionately.
They pulled away after a moment, her head leaning against his shoulder as he rested his cheek against her head, both content as they closed their eyes.
Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Oh let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Oh show me slowly what I only know the limits of
And dance me to the end of love
Please dance me to the end of love
Suddenly, he took her hand and spun her, a squeal leaving her as she started laughing. Pulling her in, he laughed as they held each other close.
Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
And dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, and both of us above
And dance me to the end of love
Won't you dance me to the end of love
The guests cheered and clapped as the song ended, Dean and Y/N smiling at everyone as they made their way to their table, as everyone found their respective ones as well. The food had started being served, and the couple had never been more thankful, having been dying to eat all day. The little snacks throughout the day had only served to make them hungrier. The food was incredible, and the drinks were amazing. As the sun had set, the fairy lights all around the tent shined as did the chandeliers, bathing the area in a soft glow. As waiters took away plates and glasses, others came around with glasses of champagne, ready for the speeches. Dean had his arm around Y/N as it rested on her chair, both of them smiling as they saw her father stand up.
“Evening everyone, I’m David. Y/N’s father,” he started, looking around the tent at the guests. “Well, I hope you know who I am, otherwise well done for sneaking into an expensive meal unnoticed.”
There were laughs around the area, as Y/N’s jaw dropped. She and her mother looked at each other, shaking their heads as Jill giggled, sitting on the other side of Y/N. Dean chuckled lightly, nodding as he sipped his water.
“I just want to welcome you all and thank you for being here for this incredible occasion, of my daughter’s wedding. Meredith and I want to thank John and Mary as well, for being so welcoming of us and our side from New York. I know that Y/N’s talked about how wonderful you both are, and we’ve definitely seen it, so thank you,” he continued, gesturing to Dean’s parents who sat next to David and Meredith.
“Y/N, Dean… congratulations to you both. Y/N, honey, your mother and I are so proud of you and the woman you’ve become. God knows you’ve been through a lot, but you came out of it more courageous, stronger, and more determined to keep fighting. Dean, the day we met you we got to see just how much you care for our daughter. We knew without a doubt that she was going to be safe and provided for. So… I know that as much as it kills me to let my daughter go… She’s going to be happy and well looked after. As long as you remember the cardinal rule of marriage: one person is always right, and the other person is you,” he said, making everyone laugh again.
“So, I know we’ve all been emotional today, I mean even the cake is in tiers,” David said, causing some cringing from his wife and daughters. Dean pressed his lips together, trying not to laugh as his wife shook her head at her dad.
“But once these speeches are done, let’s have some fun, okay?” David smiled, lifting his glass. “To Dean and Y/N, I know that your relationship is already a strong one, so may it continue to always be.”
Mary stood up, already a mess of tears as she tried to dap them away. She smiled over at the couple and took a deep breath as she prepared to talk to them.
“I want to start off quickly by thanking everyone for coming today as well. I look around now and see so many people who are so important to our family, and it just warms my heart to see you all here, and to see some other very important people who have now joined our family,” she started, looking from David and Meredith to Y/N. “I’m so happy for my son, who’s found someone who makes his world brighter. Y/N, thank you for seeing all of the good things in my son and for loving him for all of it and more. I’m so glad you came into his life, and therefore, ours. There’s not much I can say to you as advice because I already know how much you both care for each other, but as long as that remains constant, as long as you’re there for each other, support each other, love each other… I know you’re both going to be happy forever.” She blew a kiss to them as she sat down, smiling as John kissed her cheek.
Dean watched his parents and saw how much they still loved each other, even after all the things they had been through and all the years together. If he and Y/N were half as happy as they are, he knew they would be perfectly fine.
Jill stood up from her seat next to Y/N, as everyone at their table adjusted to face her. She smiled down at Y/N, who returned it, her eyes never leaving her older sister.
“Hey everybody, I’m Jill, Y/N’s sister. I’m going to ask that you all bear with me because I may cry as I talk about the greatest little sister a girl could ask for,” Jill stated, already getting choked up before even starting her speech. “While she may have had a mean streak when we were younger, like the time she shaved my eyebrow off while I was sleeping-”
There were audible gasps and laughs around the tent, as Y/N shook her head, ready to argue.
“That was because she spat toothpaste in my hair because I bent down at the sink before her!” she yelled, causing everyone to laugh.
“Which is tame compared to the eyebrow,” Jill countered, laughing. “Dean… you better watch out.”
Dean choked on his water, coughing slightly as he laughed. Y/N playfully glared at him, causing him to press his lips together to stop laughing.
“Anyway, while that may have happened… none of it changed how amazing a person she is. With everything she’s been through, everything she’s fought for, and everything she’s accomplished… I’m so constantly in awe of her and the incredible force that she is,” Jill added, looking down at her sister, tears in her eyes.
“When she told me about Dean and how she was starting to fall for him, I thought about how I’ve never heard her sound like this. She had been in love before, but never quite like this. More than anything, it was how she spoke about Dean that struck me. How much respect she had for him, how in awe she was of him, how crazy she was about him. From that, I knew that there was something there that was special. Meeting Dean only proved that further,” Jill said, looking over at her new brother-in-law. “I saw how much he reciprocated all of those things back to Y/N, and that was when I truly knew… that this guy, well he was the real deal.”
Dean smiled at her, a little nod between them to acknowledge that Jill had always approved and would always continue to do so.
“So, Dean… welcome to our family. Thank you for taking care of my sister the way you have so far… I know she’s in safe hands and you’ll always continue to do so,” Jill ended her speech, sitting back down and leaning over to Y/N, hugging her tightly.
“I love you,” she whispered.
“I love you, too,” Y/N whispered back, kissing her cheek.
Sam stood up next to Dean, standing in such a way that Eileen could read his lips as he spoke. He had been signing for her so far, Eileen having refused an interpreter at the reception as they wouldn’t have needed him for very long, unlike the ceremony. Sam cleared his throat, looking around at everyone before he started.
“Hi everyone, I’m Sam, Dean’s younger brother and best man. So, I had thought a lot about what to say today, since Dean asked me to be his best man, actually. I thought about how I should say nice things about my big brother, but then everything I thought about didn’t feel like enough to tell you all how great he really is,” Sam said, looking around at the guests before he looked at Dean.
Dean looked at Sam, a small smile on his face as he wasn’t used to his little brother saying things about him.
“My entire life, Dean’s protected me. I didn’t always like it; in fact, sometimes I really wasn’t appreciative of everything he did for me. Then of course there were the stupid pranks he pulled on me. I’m sure most people know the Nair incident, but let’s not bring up old wounds… let’s just say, Dean got into a lot of trouble for that one,” Sam continued. He raised an eyebrow as he looked at his brother, as people laughed, shook their heads in disbelief as they remembered the incident, while others looked around wondering what happened.
“Still can’t believe you did that,” Y/N whispered, shaking her head at Dean.
“Well, clearly we’re made for each other, what with shaving off Jill’s eyebrow,” he whispered back, smirking.
She giggled and leaned in, kissing him softly.
“Then as I grew up, I realized that despite the pranks, despite the constant annoying comments about my hair, the bad singing in the car, the same five albums playing over and over every time we went somewhere, the way that he always had to have the last word… through all of that, the fact that he always there when I needed him… it was the one thing, in the whole world, that I could always count on. It’s the only thing I’ve ever known that was true,” Sam said, clearing his throat as he felt the emotion rising up from his chest.
Dean smiled softly, letting a low exhale, deeply touched by everything his little brother was saying.
“That’s why I know without even a shred of doubt, that Y/N…” Sam looked at her as he spoke his next words. “Dean’s going to be there for you through anything for as long as you’re both living on this planet.”
Y/N smiled, her heart skipping a beat at Sam’s beautiful words.
“And yeah, sure, he’s going to probably piss you off. You know who to vent to when that happens,” Sam laughed as he gestured to himself. Dean shook his head as he annoyedly glared at Sam, causing Y/N to chuckle, as others joined in.
“But he’s never going to let you down,” Sam continued, smiling. “And I have to thank you too, Y/N. I told you the first time I met you that you’re good for Dean, and I’ve never seen anything to tell me otherwise, for as long as you’ve been together. For a while there, he was lost, but you found him and brought him back to being the person that he is and always has been. I know I speak for everyone when I say we’ll be thanking you for that for years to come.”
A small tear rolled down Y/N’s face, causing her to dab it away with the tissue in her hand.
“So, without me going on and on, let’s raise our glasses to the bride and groom,” Sam announced, lifting up his glass of champagne, as all the guests did the same. “I hope you both have an amazing life together, counting on the things that are honest and true. To Dean and Y/N!”
“To Dean and Y/N!” everyone cheered, clapping and sipping champagne.
Dean and Y/N clinked their glasses together, kissing softly before they each took a sip of the sparkling liquid. They both got up from the table and thanked everyone, Y/N hugging her dad then Mary for their beautiful words. Dean went over to Sam, tapping him on the shoulder.
“That was some speech, little brother,” he said, smirking.
“Yeah, I tried to mix it up,” Sam stated, laughing slightly. “Tried not to make it too chick-flick for you.”
“Thanks for that.” Dean chuckled slightly, before he smiled at him. “What you said about Y/N though… it was great, man.”
“Well, she’s great,” Sam affirmed, looking between Dean and Y/N, who was talking with Mary.
“Yeah, she is,” Dean said, quietly as he smiled, watching her. He turned to Sam and gestured to come closer, both of them hugging as they clapped each other on the back.
“Thanks, Sammy.” Dean smirked as he pulled away from his brother, grasping his shoulder.
“Don’t mention it,” Sam said, smiling as he patted Dean’s arm.
They went their separate ways, as Dean and Y/N continued to make their way around and meet everyone. He hugged Mary when he got around to seeing his parents, not before receiving a quick kiss from Y/N as she walked past him to continue socializing with others.
“How do you feel?” John asked.
Dean grinned. “I feel… amazing.”
“Told you you’d get through it,” John said, softly as he smiled.
“Thanks, dad.” Dean smiled at his dad, hugging him.
“Dean!” he heard his groomsmen call out to him, making him pull away from his father.
“It’s okay, we’ll catch up later,” John said, a small chuckle leaving him.
Dean smiled and then walked over to his friends, seeing Y/N head over to them too. He leaned down and kissed her, passionately once they reached each other.
“Alright, let’s dance,” she said, taking his hand in hers.
“Dean dancing? This I gotta see,” Sam teased, smirking.
“Hey, I’ll have you know that my new sister-in-law taught me a few things,” Dean stated, tilting his head over at Jill.
Y/N’s eyes widened in surprise. “Really? When?”
“Really, and a few days ago, when she got here,” Dean replied, smirking.
“Well, let’s go then!” she yelled, laughing as she dragged him onto the dance floor.
Most of the guests were dancing, drinking and having an amazing time, while others mingled, talked to people they hadn’t caught up with yet or hadn’t met ever. Everyone was having the time of their lives, none more so than Dean and Y/N. She laughed in surprise and excitement as he danced with her to a faster Elvis song, loving to see him so carefree. After a few songs, they stopped in the middle to cut the cake, everyone gorging on the delicious sweet. She ran her finger through some of it on the surface of the knife, offering it to him. She felt her cheeks heat up as he sucked on her finger, winking at her.
“Little preview for later?” she asked, smiling.
“Maybe,” he replied, smirking.
The night continued on, the women all dancing together when “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” came on. Dean was having a conversation with Bobby but kept getting distracted as he looked over at Y/N, dancing with Jill, Charlie and Meg. Evie and Mia bopped at their feet, being very careful not to step on aunty Y/N’s dress. Dean quickly finished talking to Bobby, promising to catch up with him in a few days time, before making his way to the dance floor.  He roared as he swooped in, picking up Mia and spinning her around. She laughed and squealed, holding him tightly as he joined everyone. The song changed over to “Dancing in the Dark”, as more people joined in. Jill and Brian danced together, as the girls danced with their aunt and uncle.
“Uncle Dean, guess what?” Evie yelled over the music.
“What’s up, kiddo?” Dean looked down at her, taking her hand and spinning her around, as he held Mia in his arm.
“I had bacon today and I liked it!” Evie told him, excitedly.
Dean put a hand over his heart, smiling at her. “Kid after my own heart.”
She latched onto him, making it difficult for him to move, but he leaned over and kissed Y/N, having gone too long since their previous one. Eventually, pretty much everyone was on the floor, dancing together as they continued to enjoy themselves.
The night began to wind down, as a few more guests thanked them for a wonderful night and they thanked them for being there, before they left. Y/N was chatting with Jody and the girls, when Dean came up behind her, putting his arms around her.
“Excuse me, ladies, but I gotta steal this one away,” he told them, slowly turning Y/N around.
“Go ahead,” Jody said, smiling.
“The girls want you to throw the bouquet and then we can head out,” Dean said, kissing her softly.
“Head out? We’re only going home, we can stay a bit longer,” she stated, frowning.
He smirked, shaking his head. “We’re not going home.”
“Oh really?” she asked, smiling. “What do you have up your sleeve this time, Dean Winchester?”
“Well, considering we’re not going on our honeymoon until next month because of the last few weeks of school, I pulled some strings with a customer who’s a manager at a hotel in town, and got us a room,” he replied, biting his lip as he smirked.
“You’re amazing,” she said, simply as she shrugged.
“So are you,” he said, leaning in and kissing her, lovingly.
Within a few minutes, Y/N got up on a chair as the women all gathered around to take part in a tradition she wasn’t too fond of, but Charlie had convinced her that it was a bit of fun. Y/N turned her back to them, launching the bouquet overhead, turning to see it glide through the air. Charlie stepped aside to let it end up in Meg’s vision, causing her to launch forward and grab the flowers. She looked at them with shock, not having been close enough to catch them and yet there she was. Holding the bouquet.
Cas looked on from where the guys were standing, suddenly feeling hot under the collar of his shirt. Sam looked at him, biting the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing.
“You okay there, Cas?” he asked, smirking.
“Fine,” Cas replied, clearing his throat.
“Looks like you’re next,” Benny teased with a smirk of his own.
Dean laughed, tapping Cas on the back. “Relax, man. You look like you’re gonna barf.”
“I’m fine,” Cas repeated, his voice raspy and nervous.
The three of them looked at each other, chuckling quietly.
Within another hour, the reception came to a close, just a little after 12:30am. Their immediate family and friends stayed and left the tent with them, as they made their way back to the ranch house where they had gotten ready. The girls helped Y/N change out of her wedding dress, promising to take it back home for her. She got dressed into a white, A-line dress that came to just above her knees, changing into white shoes that had a shorter heel. She smiled as Charlie handed over an overnight bag she had packed for her, telling her that she was in on the surprise from Dean. Doing one last sweep of the room, the girls left and walked out to the parking lot.
She smiled as she saw Dean leaning against the Impala, his white dress shirt tight across his muscles as he crossed his arms, having ditched the suit jacket. The back of the car had a “Just Married” sign stuck to the trunk, and cans tied underneath. She knew he couldn’t have been happy about that, but he didn’t seemed he didn’t seem to care at that moment. They said their goodbyes to everyone, before Dean turned around and walked to the car, opening the passenger side door as he waited for Y/N.
She waved at everyone as she hurried over, quickly sitting inside as he shut the door. He waved at all the guests one last time as he ran around the front of the car, getting into the driver’s seat.
“Ready?” he asked, as he turned to Y/N. He had the most perfect smile on his face, which she reciprocated.
“Ready.” She leaned over, kissing him softly as he started the engine.
With one last look in the rear-view mirror, Dean’s foot pressed down on the accelerator. The Impala sped off, as he pressed the horn a few times and Y/N stuck her head out of the open window, waving as everyone cheered. They made it down the long drive, everyone disappearing from view, as Dean took a right turn and put them in the direction of Kansas City.

Once they arrived at the hotel, checked in and rode the elevator to their floor, they made their way to their room. Y/N stood back as Dean opened the door, took her bag from her and dropped both of them inside the door, holding it open with his foot. He took Y/N’s hand and bent down, wrapping an arm under her legs and around her back, picking her up.
“Really?” she asked, laughing as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Hey, we stuck to other traditions today, might as well stick to this one, too,” he replied, as he carried her across the threshold and into their hotel room, the door shutting behind them.
He walked over to the bed and carefully dropped her onto the covers, the rose petals scattering around. She laughed as he climbed on top of her, his legs on either side of her. The lights in the room were dimmed, giving everything a warm glow as they gazed into each other’s eyes.
“Hi, wife,” he breathed, grinning.
“Hi, husband,” she whispered, beaming.
He leaned in, kissing her passionately as he took her hands in his and placed them on either side of her head, their fingers curling between each other’s. The kiss became heated quickly, both of them wanting to be as close to the other as possible, after being apart since the night before.
“Dean,” she mumbled against his lips. She bit her lip as she wiggled her eyebrows. “I think I need to slip into something more comfortable.”
He hummed, kissing her again quickly. “I think you do, too.”
He rolled away from her, letting her sit up and stand up from the bed. She turned back to him and felt a heat spread through her body and settle in her as she looked at him, his legs crossed as he leaned up on his elbows, smirking at her. His white shirt had a couple of buttons open, exposing his neck and clavicle, making her shiver. She smiled at him and walked away to the bathroom, picking up her overnight bag along the way, and shutting the door.
Y/N looked at herself in the mirror, smiling as she let out a small squeal. She had never felt as happy as she did in her relationship with Dean, and she couldn’t wait to see how much deeper their love would grow now that they were married. Unzipping her dress on the side, she slipped it off and took off the simple bra and underwear she had put on. She unzipped her bag, smiling when she saw the white lingerie she had bought. Good thing she had told Charlie about it and her friend packed it for her. She slipped it on, clasping the bra and adjusting all the straps. She took out the soft lace robe and put it on. Looking at herself in the mirror again, she took out all the pins from her hair, flicking it back and forth to open it up. She stroked her hands through it and fluffed it, the strands now wavy from being in the bun all day.
With one last check in the mirror, Y/N opened the door and walked out. She smiled as Dean sat on the edge of the bed, taking his shoes off. She cleared her throat and he looked up, stopping what he was doing as his eyes raked over her. He looked up into her eyes, smiling as he dropped his shoes and leaned back on his hands, watching her walk over to him. She straddled him, wrapping her arms around his neck as he sat up, placing his hands on her hips.
“Like it?” she asked, as her hands combed through his hair at the back of his head.
He hummed as he leaned in, kissing her neck softly. “Definitely… but I think I’d like it better on the floor.”
His hands moved up to her shoulders, her arms moving back to let him push her robe down her arms, letting the delicate material slip to the floor. She shifted forward, her covered mound pressing against his crotch as she began to grind slowly. He pulled her closer, kissing her neck, nipping at the spot that always drove her crazy.
“God, I love you so damn much, sweetheart,” he whispered between kisses, making his way to her mouth, pressing a searing kiss to her lips.
“I love you, too,” she said, pulling away briefly. “So much.”
His hands slid around her back, slowly unclasping the bra and unhooking the bottom part of the lingerie. He pulled it off her and threw it on the floor, leaving her in the matching white lace thong.
Pulling her into him, Dean turned and laid Y/N down on the bed, her head resting against the pillows. She sat up, reaching for his shirt and unbuttoning it, kissing him feverishly as she pushed it off his shoulders and tossed it on the floor. He leaned over, laying her back against the bed, moving in to kiss her again. He trailed his lips down, kissing along her neck and collarbone, down the valley of her breasts, stopping to plant a kiss to each of them, making his way down her stomach.
“So beautiful,” he whispered against her skin, making her press her lips together, her cheeks hot from his admiration.
She looked down at him, watching as he pulled her thong down her legs and dropped it to the floor. Their eyes met as he moved between her legs, a small smirk on his face as he leaned in and placed a kiss to her sex. She bit her lip as they kept eye contact, a gasp leaving her as he licked a stripe over her folds. He moved his tongue from her entrance to her clit, tasting her as she started to get wet. He ran his tongue over her swollen nub in circles, causing a small moan to escape her lips. He started to alternate between sucking at her clit and slowly thrusting his tongue into her wet canal, as her hands moved into his short locks.
“Dean, oh my god,” she moaned, looking down at him as her hands gripped his hair tight.
“Taste so good, sweetheart,” he groaned.
He continued his ministrations, as a string of moans left her, his name falling from her lips as she felt her core tighten, knowing that she was close. No matter how many times Dean did this for her, every time was a euphoric experience, a feeling that could never be compared to anything else because it was just that amazing. Every single time.
“God, feels so good,” she whimpered, closing her eyes tightly.
“Come on, baby,” he whispered against her thigh, planting a kiss to her flesh. “Cum on my tongue, wanna feel it.” He dipped his head and continued to suck at the swollen nub and lick at her entrance, ready to bring her over the edge.
“Dean, fuck I-” she moaned, threw her head back. “Dean!”
The coil snapped as she came, her wetness slicking his tongue and lips. He lapped at everything she gave him, not moving until he was satisfied. Pressing a kiss to her inner thigh, he drifted up, holding himself above her as he smiled.
“You alright, sweetheart?” he asked, softly.
She reached up, cupping his face in her hands and bringing him closer, kissing his lips and tasting herself on them. She looked up at him, stroking her thumbs across his cheeks as she looked into his eyes. “I really am.”
His eyes flicked over every part of her face, taking in every feature. “You’re so beautiful.”
“So are you,” she whispered, gazing into his green orbs.
“Wanna be inside you, sweetheart,” he groaned, softly, as he reached for the belt on his pants.
“Want that too,” she sighed, reaching up to plant kisses along his jaw. “Need you inside me.”
Dean took off his belt and dropped it down the side of the bed, undoing his pants and slipping them off along with his boxers, throwing them to the floor. He was hard, his cock throbbing after he had brought her over the edge with his mouth. He took a hold of his shaft, pressing the tip to her entrance, as her legs spread a little more. Knowing she was more than ready for him, he sank into her, a soft moan leaving her lips as she felt her walls stretch and sheath his cock completely.
“Fuck, you feel so good inside me, Dean,” she whispered, kissing his cheek. “So good.”
“So perfect wrapped around me,” he whispered back.
He pulled back slightly, thrusting back into her as he set a slow, sensual rhythm. He leaned down on his forearms, his face closer to hers, kissing her passionately. She held onto his shoulders, her legs wrapping around him, her heels digging into the globes of his ass. Their bodies moved together in a slow dance, their lips moving against each other at the same pace.
“I love you,” she whispered against his lips, a soft and loving smile on her face.
Dean pulled back slightly, looking deep into her eyes. He couldn’t believe that he got to be her husband, feeling overwhelmed by the moment as he continued to move within her.
“I love you so much, Dean Winchester,” she sighed, her hands moving up to cup his face again. “I’m going to love you for the rest of my life.”
Dean reached up and took her hands in his, their fingers linked as he held them down on either side of her head. He leaned in, pressing his forehead to hers, their eyes boring into each other’s. For yet another time in their relationship, he wondered how luck finally came to him, how he finally found the woman of his dreams. He marvelled that he found a woman who truly cared for him, who loved him unconditionally and saw past his flaws. He couldn’t believe his luck to get the chance to spend his whole life with her.
Y/N breathed heavily as she gazed up at him, seeing his eyes begin to water. She couldn’t believe that this man above her had come into her life right when she needed him. That he had found everything about her incredible, to the point where he had committed to spending his whole life with her. He loved her and made her feel safe, and she constantly thanked the universe every day that they found each other.
A tear rolled down Dean’s right cheek, causing Y/N to reach up and softly brush it away. Another tear escaped his left eye, as he let out a mix between a gasp and a moan. His shoulders shook as a wave of emotions flooded him; his jaw clenched as he tried to keep the tears at bay.
“I love you so fucking much, sweetheart,” he rasped, a few more tears escaping.
She held his face in her hands, leaning up slightly to softly brush her lips against his cheeks, kissing his tears away. He continued to move within her, her walls clenching around his cock as his hips undulated slowly, hitting her g-spot repeatedly. Her hands joined with his again, their fingers tight around each other’s. Linked together. Forever.
She smiled through tears of her own, tilting her head to kiss his lips softly. “I love you, D.”
He thrusted into her a little faster, knowing that she was close from the way she contracted around him. He leaned up slightly, looking down at her as he moved deep with her, her hips meeting his. She felt the heat in her belly rise, her core tightening again, her second release fast approaching.
“Dean,” she moaned loudly, her hands grasping his tightly. “Baby, I’m so close.”
“Me too, gorgeous,” he grunted, clenching his jaw. “Cum with me.”
She looked deep into his eyes, as his hips snapped against hers a few more times, causing her to moan loudly. With their names on each other’s lips, they fell over the edge together, her wetness slicking his shaft, as his seed coated her inner walls, the euphoria washing over them like a calming ocean.
Dean breathed heavily as he dropped his head to her chest, his lower body slowly laying between her legs. She ran her hands through his sweat-soaked hair, holding his head in place, her chest rising and falling harshly as she caught her breath. He turned his head slightly, softly kissing the top of her breast and any other part of her skin that he could reach. He slowly pulled out of her, but she didn’t allow him to move away.
“That was incredible,” she said, softly, feeling a tear escape her eye and run down the side of her face.
He nodded against her chest, not trusting his voice at that moment.
They lay there in the same position for a few moments, until Dean rolled off her and shifted back against the pillows. Y/N moved into him, resting her head on his chest and wrapping her arm around him. Her fingers made random patterns on his chest, both of them basking in the afterglow of their wedding night love making. Soon, sleep was starting to creep in. He reached up and turned off the lights from the switch near the bed, the clock on the bedside table reading 2:15am.
“I love you, Dean Winchester,” she whispered, her eyes closing.
“I love you, too, Y/N Winchester,” he whispered back.
They fell into a deep slumber, their bodies moulded together perfectly, their minds replaying the beautiful memories of their special day and knowing that come sunrise would be the start of new ones being made.
It would be the start of their new chapter together as husband and wife.

for #spnprideweek day 1: coming out + flags
↳ summary: cas tells sam a secret that he hasn’t (really) told anybody else. surprisingly, sam has one too.  PRIDE series | gen, sam & cas | word count: 1.7k
[READ ON AO3]
Sam’s grimacing a little at the grease from the fries on Cas’ plate. Cas would usually make a comment, here, about Sam keeping his eyes on his own paper, or that it isn’t nearly as bad as the veggie burger sitting on his plate at Sam’s behest. This is the recompense, Cas wants to say, but his mouth is dry and no words are coming out even if he wants them to.
Accompanying the inability to speak is the twisting feeling in his gut that won’t even allow him to pick up the burger. The smell is too much, too, and Cas hates to admit it but it’s probably the grease, so he sits back a little against the peeling seat of the booth to calm his nerves.
It’s just Sam. He can do this. It’s only that this is the first time he’s telling anyone, and that definitely ups the stakes a little.
Well, that’s somewhat of a lie. Cas had told the nice woman at the grocery store check out last week when he’d seen her little pin on her work uniform and asked where he could get one.
He hadn’t actually bought one, of course, but Cas eyed the small bin full of brightly colored pins on the way out, convincing himself it was stupid to get back in line again for something so small and inexpensive. Still, he’d thought about it on the drive back to the Bunker, and that night in his bed, and the full week following, up until now.
Now, Sam was looking at him with concern, and wiping his mouth in that way that means he’s about to get serious.
“Is everything alright?” he asks, pointedly looking down at Cas’ loaded plate. He’d barely taken a bite, except for a few nibbles of his admittedly greasy fries. And it was weird because since becoming human, Cas' appetite had grown considerably, much to Dean's delight.
And—Dean. That's what this was all about, wasn't it? Sure, it was more than just Dean, it was all the humans that had made Cas' body ache like it hadn't before, had made him think of what it means to be in this vessel—his body—and be attracted to other...humans.
It was odd. In hindsight, things in Heaven had been so much easier in this regard. Cas had spent most of his life clueless to the capabilities of human attraction, and then he met Dean and it all came crashing down around him. Only then, Cas was ignoring it. He was facing the other way, because though he felt human, he wasn't. Not really.
But everything is different now.
Cas clears his throat.
"Well," he starts, "no. I am feeling what I believe you’d call...anxiety. My stomach hurts, I find I'm unable to eat, a-and my hands are—"
"Cas," Sam interrupts. Shaking. Cas' hands are shaking.
Sam's fully set his fork and knife down now, hands clasped together on the edge of the table. "Talk to me."
Cas licks his dry lips.
"It’s not...it isn’t a big deal, really,” and yet Cas can feel his heart hammering in his chest. He sucks in a breath. “But I’m, uh. I wanted to tell you that...I like men.”
Sam’s expression doesn’t change, but he blinks at Cas once from across the table.
“Okay.”
Cas raises an eyebrow, pulse slowing down a little with his next exhale. “Okay?”
Maybe it was that simple, and Cas was worrying over nothing. It’s just...this feels like it should be bigger. Earth-shattering. Like Sam should either hug him or tell him he never wants to speak to Cas again.
Instead, he just shrugs, picks up his fork and pushes bits of his salad around his plate.
But then Cas’ gaze moves to Sam’s face and...Sam’s frowning. Cas feels his heart thumping hard again, waiting for the ball to drop. It feels a little like when Dean sat him down to “talk,” right after he lost his powers, and, well. Cas knew how that had ended. He braces himself for the worst, schools his features to something more neutral.
“I’m,” Sam clears his throat, “I’m sorry you got nervous over all of that. I-I get that coming out is...” he laughs, “usually a bigger deal, but. You don’t have to worry with me, you know? I get it.”
That makes Cas pause. “You...do?”
Now Sam’s looking at him, eyes a little wide, but he works his jaw and gets the words out. “Yeah. Uh... well I guess now’s a good a time as any to tell you.”
“Tell me what?”
The fork is set back down again. The bell over the diner door jingles.
“In college...you know about Jess,” Sam says, jogging Cas’ memory. He knows, so he nods and Sam continues, “Well we uh. We actually met in a Gender Studies class. I thought, ‘pff, easy A,’ but it was actually way more complex than I originally thought, so she kind of...tutored me.” Cas raises an eyebrow, and Sam rolls his eyes.
“Actually tutored me. Whatever. Point is, I learned a lot—‘cause she was a great teacher—and...not just about the class, but about myself, too.”
Cas nods slowly, beginning to catch Sam’s drift. “Okay...”
Despite his tone, Sam’s posture stiffens a little, like he’s uncomfortable, or not really used to this type of conversation. Cas does his best to relax into his seat to ease him, unfolding his arms.
“What I’m saying is,” Sam shrugs, “I’m...not...cis. Like, I don’t....I’m not um, a guy, I guess. Well, sort of. I’m non-binary.”
Cas is silent for a second, mulling it over in his head. Eventually it becomes long enough for Sam to say, “Uh...you know what? You can forget it, man—”
“No!” Cas says, almost knocking over his plate in the process. The silverware clatters as it falls onto the table, and Sam flinches a little. “I was just thinking...I want to apologize if anything I’ve said about your gender has ever made you uncomfortable, or if you—”
Sam’s out-facing palm makes Cas stutter to a stop. There’s a weird guilt settling in the pit of his stomach, and the anxiety that he’d thought was gone is back full force again. Cas tears off a piece of his napkin.
“Cas, dude. Calm down,” Sam laughs. He takes a deep breath, and Cas follows his lead. They breathe in and out together for a beat, and when Cas feels fairly calmer, Sam pushes both of their plates aside.
“There’s no need to apologize for something you couldn’t have known about,” he starts, shaking his head a little, “and you haven’t done anything wrong, either. I still use he and him pronouns, and sometimes they and them. And besides, it’s not like I go around telling people. Especially with, uh, the way I was raised...I’ve been hesitant, you know? It was great in college, people were really supportive when I told them. But then when I started hunting again...I don’t know.
“My dad...uh. I tried telling him, once. Didn’t go too well, so I didn’t try it again. I think that’s why Dean...” he shakes his head, frowning down at the table again. “It wasn’t easy, growing up the way we did. You could probably understand that.”
Cas nods. Under the table, his napkin is shredded into bits.
“I do. I think, in a way, I also understand being trans.” Sam jerks their head up, intrigued.
“Angels...we don’t experience gender the same way humans do. In fact, the concept is entirely nonexistent in Heaven. So, when we take vessels...”
“You’re essentially defining yourself,” Sam says in awe. It makes Cas smile to see them back in their element, leaning forward a little to listen better. “I never thought about it that way, not really.”
Cas shrugs. “I’m not sure all of my siblings did, either. Many chose according to which vessel would best suit them and their form. That was definitely a factor in me choosing Jimmy, but I also found the thought of looking like a human man...greatly appealing.”
Sam’s nodding now, gaze darting to different parts of the table. Cas knows that means they’re mentally crafting an essay right about now, or thinking of what books in the Bunker might further help in their research about it.
“Wow,” he says, “that’s—I mean. Wow, Cas. Thanks for telling me that. And uh, the other thing.”
“Oh. Thank you.”
There’s a comfortable silence between them now, and Cas takes it as an opportunity to sip from his slightly-melted iced tea.
“So,” Sam starts again slowly, “have you told Dean?”
Cas sucks in another deep breath, and Sam nods. “Yeah,” he says, “me neither.”
It surprises Cas a little that Sam hasn’t told him, and he expresses that with an inquiring eyebrow.
Sam purses his lips and dodges the unspoken question. “Dean’s not a bad guy. You probably know that better than anyone except me. You know he’d still love you if you told him.”
Cas’ heart pounds at the mention of the word. When Sam notices, he feels his ears begin to heat with a blush.
“Oh,” Sam smiles, “that. I figured. For a while now, but I didn’t wanna say anything.”
Cas tries to will away the heat on his face. He doesn’t say anything, so Sam leaves it be.
The waitress gives them a worried look when she brings the check, eyeing their barely touched plates. They both smile apologetically, insisting that their food was “great” when she whisks it away.
On their way back home, Cas asks if Sam can stop at the store. They don’t ask anything more than, “we need groceries that bad?” and Cas dips inside. He knows this is just like any other grocery run—going in and out as quick as possible with the things they need—yet his heart hammers all the same when he stops in front of the bin near the door. The same employee from last week is working on lane six, and he’s sure to check out at that one with his goods. She gives him a knowing smile.
Cas flops into the passenger seat, a little out of breath.
“That was fast,” Sam starts to say, before noticing Cas’ lack of grocery bags. “Dude. What d’you buy, air?”
Instead, Cas brandishes two brightly colored pins. Sam tentatively takes the yellow, white, purple, and black one, eyes wide.
“For me?” they ask.
Cas smiles, running his thumb over the rainbow one in his hand.
“For both of us,” he says.

Just Get Out
Prompt: After John dies, Dean and Sam take it upon themselves to look after you, but...
Dean: 18
Sam: 14
Y/N: 7
Word Count: 2,030
It's just been a month since your dad, John Winchester died, and all you have left family wise are your older brothers Sam and Dean. You didn't know what death really meant since you are so young, but your brothers knew, and they knew too well. Since you were seven your dad didn't really let you in on what he and your brothers did, all you know is that you and sometimes Sam get left at a motel for a while and they come back bloody and bruised. So when John died, Sam and Dean don't really talk as much as they used to, but for you, they really do try.
What you did know is how to practically annoy the hell out of them...well...sometimes. You are mostly a good kid according to Sam, who decided to take on the 'motherly' role, and Dean the 'fatherly' role. When Dean turned 18, he decided on his own to drop out of high school, but you and Sam are still in school, and Sam plans to keep it that way.
  Okay now onto the story
Its 7:36pm, Sam went to the library for homework, so tonight is just you and Dean. You and Dean are in the kitchen and hes making dinner while you sit on the kitchen table. "Alright Y/N, we don't got much tonight, so I'm making mac and cheese...the good kind, not the kind Sam makes," Dean says with a tiny smirk.
"But De, I don't want macky cheese, I want chicken!" You say with a small but excited voice. Dean turns back to you, frowns and says "Y/N, we dont have chicken, this is all we got until Sam goes to the store."
"Wait what!?!?! But De I want chicken now!!" you say filled with whine and a little bit of sass. 'geez I really don't want to deal with this right now,' Dean thinks to himself "Y/N please, just reason with me tonight, I'll make Sam go to the store tomorrow," He says sounding defeated. Oh but hell no, in your tiny seven year old brain, you knew what you had to do
Step 1: Be quiet and wait like a good sister
Step 2: Once De is done and sets food in front of you
Step 3: PUSH IT OFF ON THE FLOOR
Step 4: Wait hold on-
Step 5: Why does De look like hes about to ye-
"Fucking hell, really Y/N!? You cant be fucking serious, what the hell was that for?" Dean yells at you. "De I said I wanted-" But he cut you off and said "I JUST TOLD YOU THIS IS ALL WE GOT" He says louder than his first statement. Now your'e shaken, but you know it takes more to make you cry.
  "I don't care! I don't want macky cheese De!"
  "Y/N, just get out"
...This is the calmest hes been all week
  "Wha-"
"JUST GET THE HELL OUT" Dean practically screams.
Okay now that there is starting to make you cry
You quickly get off of the kitchen chair and you bolt to the stairs where all the bedrooms are. But of course you have to turn around and yell
"I WISH DAD WAS HERE, HE WOULD GET REAL MAD IF YOU YELLED AT ME!" and then you run up the stairs and slam your door shut, locking it in the process. _______________________________________
'Great that's just fuckin' perfect,' Dean thinks to himself. 'What the hell am I supposed to tell Sammy? Oh yeah, I screamed at Y/N because she wouldn't comply, and now foods all over the floor and I think I'm having a meltdown!'
'Sometimes I wish I never came here!' you think to yourself, pretty much sobbing while laying down on your bed. 'wouldn't be surprised if he didn't want me here too-."
You fall asleep shortly after the thought and Dean couldn't be any more relieved when he hears the door open and to see Sam with his backpack in one arm and a couple books in the other hand.
"Hey whats-...what happened?" Sam says slowly putting his backpack on the floor. Sam staring at Dean and all the food that's on the floor around him "oh, haha, this? oh, its nothing Sam, just a minor fuckin' mishap!" Dean says laughing through each word with eyes that look like hes about to sob any minute.
"....Dean?" Sam asks. Its been a while since there was major conflict... well since the whole situation with Dad anyways. "Was it Y/N?"
"What? No of course not, this is just a normal Friday fuckin night....yeah just, don't worry 'bout it" Dean says with his voice dying down a little bit.
"Should I go talk to her?" Sam asks. such a small voice but its filled with a lot of concern.
"No, she's asleep...maybe later?" Dean says back to him. 'He seems tired' Sam thinks to himself. 'Well I did leave her here with him...' _______________________________________
You wake up pretty early... well early for you anyways, its 9:30am and you got woken up to puffy red eyes and really messed up hair. You go ahead and leave your bedroom and when you enter the kitchen you get greeted by Sam, who is making breakfast.
"Morning sunshine," Sam says with a slight happy tone, but still pretty monotone. 'he's trying, that's a good thing' you think to yourself.
"Morning..." you say back, rubbing your eyes and climbing up onto the chair near the kitchen table. "So...wheres De?" you ask in a sleepy tone. "He's more or less still asleep" Sam replies. Sure enough right when Sam says that, Dean walks in all sleepy-like too. 'so similar' Sam thinks. "Morning to you too sunshine" Sam says with a pretty wide grin afterwards. "Bite me, princess" Dean shoots back, also with a small smirk.
You look at Dean, Dean looks at you, and a couple seconds later you two look away, but the stare you two gave felt like it was forever.
"Hi" you managed to squeak out. Without meaning to, you were quiet and a little bit nervous.
"Hey" Dean replies, but not looking at you, instead looking at the table, then to his hands, and then to Sam.
"Hey Sammy, do you think dad had any hunts that he wrote down in his journal for us to do?" Dean asks. Looking around Dean finds your dads journal on the couch in the living room. He picks it up and skims through the pages.
"I...don't know? Dad never talked to me personally about hunts, just you" Sam says as a matter-of-factly. Sam sets your breakfast down in front of you, and a plate for Dean on the other side of the table. "Why?" Sam asks.
"Because I want to hunt? We haven't in a while and you know dad will tear us a new one if he sees us on our asses doing nothing," Dean proclaims, in a slight aggressive manner, though it was almost accidental.
"But he's...not here," you say out loud without meaning to. You look up to see Sam and Dean both looking at you, and right then you look back down. While looking down you hear footsteps, and right when you look back up, you see Dean staring right at you. 'The eye contact is unbearable' you think to yourself
"Just because hes dead, doesn't mean we can just fuck around and do nothing," Dean says with so much venom you begin to shake a little.
"Dean. Back. Up." Sam says, looking at Dean with an angry look and his teeth practically glued together. Sam takes Deans shoulder and yanks him back, and he makes Dean bend down so he can whisper something into his ear.
"I know you and Y/N have this personal issue going on right now, but I'll be damned if I ever hear you talk to her like that again, hear me?" Sam whispers, he lets go of Dean shoulder and looks at Dean. Dean looks back at him, looks at you, looks at Sam again, and nods, running his hand through his hair.
"Good," Sam says quietly. Sam walks towards you and bends down, "When you're finished with your breakfast, head on up to your room, you're not in trouble, but I'll talk with you later, okay?" Sam tells you,
"Okay" You say, looking at Sam. You finished your breakfast rather quickly. During that time, Dean went into his own room, and Sam went out into the backyard to do whatever he does, you're not really sure. You put your dirty plates into the sink and you fast walk to your room, and you quietly shut your door. _______________________________________
Waiting.....sucks. You have no clue how long you waited for Sam but it felt like forever. In reality it was probably like thirty minutes, but thirty minutes to a seven year old is all day.
You begin to space out when you hear a small knock on your door. You jump a bit because you didn't really expect it since you didn't know when Sam would come by.
You get up off your bed and you begin to walk to your door when the door was already opening. you stop and look up
"...Dean?" You ask. 'uh-oh' you think to yourself. You walk back a little bit and he sits down on your bedroom floor and holds his arms out for you to come sit in his lap. He hasn't said a word yet you heard exactly what he is wanting to ask.
You look at him. He looks at you. Both have no clue what to say to each other.
You slowly walk towards him, and you climb into his lap, both getting comfortable in the process
It had to have been like five minutes before Dean starts talking. "I'm sorry" he says to you. Smiling, you start talking too. "Me too" you say and you look up to see Dean beginning to tear up.
Okay now its time to panic
Dean crying is something that you never see so...you begin to tear up too.
  "De? Are you okay?"
"I wish Dad was here, He would get real mad at me if he saw the way I was acting" Dean says. "Wouldn't be surprised if he beat my ass, just because I'm eighteen, doesn't mean shit to him" he says with a small laugh after the comment.
"Well I think you're doing a good job" You say to him quietly, but loud enough for him to hear. "Just because you're eighteen, doesn't mean you aren't bad at being a brother, neither is Sam" You add.
Dean, trying not to just sob in front of you, breaths in and breaths out a couple of times.
"You're seven, when did you become so smart?" Dean asks hugging you rather tightly
You giggle at his comment and say, "I'm your sister, I had to have learned something from you."
  "Good answer" Dean says.
Without knowing, Sam is leaning on the door frame, with his arms crossed looking at you and Dean with the biggest smile ever. "Hey," Sam says and makes both you and Dean jump slightly, Sam giggles and that and continues,
"The garage called, they want you to come in and help fix a 67' Mustang," Sam says.
"Oh whaaat," you whine. you begin to get off of Dean so he can go to his job when he quickly snatches you back up, gets up off of the ground and throws you over his shoulders.
"How do you feel about coming with me? Who knows maybe-"
"Will Seth be there?" You ask excitedly. (For some backstory, John's long time friend Seth works where Dean works, and ever since you met Seth, you've practically 'fallen in love' with him)
"More than likely, he likes old cars like we do," Dean replies. "Yes! okay come on, lets go, come on, come on, come on" You say, trying to hurry up Dean,
"Okay, okay, lets go" Dean laughs while replying. You two leave the room, and Sam closes your door. Again, with a big smile on his face, Sam starts thinking to himself, 'Yeah, everything will be okay'

deancas highschool au, 1.8k.
dean's pretty sure it all comes down to being sam's fault.
kid had walked into their last scooby doo marathon without warning at eleven friggin' pm, startling both cas and him (because they watch scooby doo like it's meant to be watched — with all their concentration, goddammit) and consequently causing dean to knock over the bowl of popcorn and get its contents all over (and some inside) the couch.
fast forward from there to the next time dean asked mary if cas could sleep over, and her immediate condition being that they conduct the grand bingewatch (a necessary element of the dean-cas sleepovers) in dean's room instead of the living room, as she could not possibly handle finding more popcorn under the cushions of the damn sofa than she'd already been fishing for, the last two weeks.
so there.
it is absolutely and indisputably sam's fault that dean is right now half-propped up in bed next to his best friend, with a laptop on his lap and fellowship of the ring playing on it, unable to think about anything except the way their arms press against each other, knees brush, and cas's head ends up looming too close to dean's shoulder to not be resting on it.
oh, and how good cas looks in the almost-dark, lit by whatever's happening — dean knows exactly what's happening — on the screen.
just because.
it's past two — which translates to way too late for a gay awakening o'clock — but dean's pretty sure if his heart keeps beating at this rate till morning, he's going to wake up in an ambulance.
this has never happened before. being this conscious of wherever they're touching, this excited about it, or this intent on stealing glances when he's sure he won't be caught. (okay, maybe that one's happened before but it's beside the point.) put together, it is alien and disconcerting.
and dean's not an idiot. he knows — he thinks he knows what's happening. and he knows it's not supposed to feel like a switch flipping because these things — and that's about all of the clarity he can afford — happen over time. and yet it's like he's walked headfirst into a wall on this weird, weird night.
the only thing he knows for sure is that he's never felt this way before. not towards cas, not towards anyone.
well, there's also never been an anyone (else).
but screw semantics — dean's terrified.
and it's entirely sam's fault, obviously, which is why the next time dean sees the little bastard, he's going to —
"dean."
it's cas, interrupting his very subtle, manageable breakdown in his endearingly familiar why-aren't-you-already-paying-attention-to-me voice.
dean hits pause, pressing the spacebar and turning to face his cas-shaped dilemma in the eye. "what, you sleepy already?"
"of course not." cas's tone is haughty, like one of somebody who hasn't been the first one asleep in a single sleepover in the past. dean takes the blow with grace, because he friggin' deserves that. he's been ashamed of himself every, single, morning-after. "i was just wondering if the movie," cas tilts his head towards the screen. "isn't disturbing your parents or your brother. i don't think we've ever watched anything past midnight in your room before."
trust me, dean's brain supplies, i know.
but cas does have a point. there's plenty of loud noises in lotr, and the walls aren't particularly thick. and the last thing he wants right now is for dad to come see why they're not asleep yet, and find them friggin' huddled together on a single.
not that dean minds it.
"well," dean frowns. "what do you suggest? it is sorta late to switch to sleepover games, by the way, if you were planning on saying 'never have i ever'."
"we could use your earphones." cas says, like it's the most obvious thing. "and neither of us ever win in 'never have i ever', dean. or lose, actually. we know each each other too well. why would i suggest that?"
but dean's already stuck on a previous part of cas's sentence. "m-my earphones?"
cas blinks at him. "yes?"
dean swallows.
"unless you want to play 'never have i ever'?"
dean swats at cas for that, which the latter tries to dodge by pushing dean with both hands, until dean's wriggling and swearing at him to stop trying to put him through the wall because either they really are cosied up in that little space, or being in the middle of a really important realization makes you go soft on your opponent.
when cas finally lets dean go with a self-satisfied grin, dean only falters for a moment before planting the laptop on cas indelicately and knee-waddling to the end of the bed to get to his desk.
he finds his extremely well-used black earphones soon enough and returns to his spot, where cas shifts hardly an inch to give him his due space, resulting in dean well and truly sandwiched between the wall and cas, because his best friend is a jackass like that. and of course, the only reasons dean leans further towards cas with practised annoyance etched on his face is because it's the kind of annoying he's supposed to be, and it's october and the wall is cold.
cas, on the other hand, is really not.
"what are you waiting for?" cas grumbles, eyes squinty at dean in the dark, and dean makes a face at him, plugging it in (without needing to look, not that he'd've been able to see a thing in the dark anyways), and offering cas the left earplug.
which cas promptly puts in his left ear — the one that's farther away — because he's cas, and things like which earplug is meant for which ear, matter to him.
dean friggin' loves him.
and it's some time after dean's put the right one in his left ear — because he's not cas is why, and their heads are close enough already — and they've hit play and settled into the comfortable silence of watching a movie they've both seen at least five times in the past and dean's actually begun to pay attention, that he absolutely freezes in his metaphorical tracks, the entire world stuttering to a halt as he tries to register that last thought.
he loves cas.
he said it to himself. he said he loved him.
and that's just goddamn it.
he loves cas.
dean's eyes flit to cas, who's watching the movie without having any life-altering revelations, stuffing his mouth full of popcorn every five minutes (a habit dean can proudly claim to have been responsible for fostering in the first place), not smiling but with a corner of his lip pulled up like he ends up unconsciously doing whenever he's really paying attention, his profile only half-lit with colors, and his closeness suddenly so incredibly flustering.
yeah, well. you've known it for a while, the voice in dean's head that's not exactly his, returns. haven't you?
and maybe he has.
or maybe he hasn't, and it really does feel like a switch flipping for some people. people like him who're zoning out watching lord of the rings one moment, and smitten with their best friends the second.
it doesn't really matter either way, does it?
it's 2:37 am when dean turns his head to the movie again.
inarguably far too late for anything to matter to dean other the fact that he knows. the fact that he knows that he's in love with cas. and the fact that he is.
(maybe he can think of ways to ask him out tomorrow.
or next week.
or maybe he'll chicken out a thousand times until he finally ends up stuttering his way through a severely practised-in-the-mirror confession eight months later, and cas will smile that smile he reserves for dean, and say he can't make it friday because of astronomy club, and dean'll blush even harder because he knew that, he knows that dammit, and then cas will suggest thursday instead, and thursday will be too soon and way too terrifying and just perfect. and then they'll live happily ever after.)
but dean's got all the time in the world to sort out — read: lose his shit over — the maybe's.
right now? being in love with cas is enough.
and being here, watching the last sixteen minutes of one of their mutually favorite movies in bed with his best friend and love of his life, is perfect.
*
dean does end up falling asleep first, yet again, cause turns out achieving self-awareness and spontaneous living-in-the-moment prowess don't do shit to help with being less of an embarrassment.
but this time, he gets to wake up with an arm slotted around his waist, and a warm castiel curled up close behind him, still fast asleep and breathing in light puffs down dean's tshirt, so maybe, just maybe, he doesn't have to chalk this one up as a loss after all.
doesn't mean cas still won't be a smugfaced little shit about it though.
but then, that's probably one of the things dean winchester loves about him anyway.

This is going to be a super long analysis of jib3 starting with the opening ceremony to the closing ceremony so brace yourselves.
Please note I believe in the breakup theory so maybe my opinion in this one might be biased so please don’t come for me, lol.
I will put it under the cut to avoid overcrowding your dashes with cockles shenanigans.
Also, watch out for profanities and mature language.
And so it begins...
Opening ceremony
The camera used to record the opening ceremony is shaky.
Misha, Jason Manns, and Jarpad seem to be having a lot of fun together and Jensen is just looking at his besties talking to the man he loves and he knows he can’t have that so he just stands there looking at them. Poor guy.
Jarpad asks who took Misha’s riffle? Things are awkward, I honestly don’t know what’s going on.
Misha kisses a plushie while making eye contact with Jensen and Jensen is like “oh, oh, wow” while making eye contact with Misha. LOL. Jack help me. This is a lot!!!
Jensen takes a plushie from Sebastian and Jared takes the one Misha had.
Are you guys flirting about trying to see whether you can keep plushies alive?
Misha throws something at the fans, I think he was throwing treats from earlier or whatever it was and Jensen says “Misha is still throwing” I mean why?
Cockles Panel
Jensen is so extra in this panel.
First of all, when he and Misha come out (no pun intended) a song starts playing and he starts dancing. Jensen is usually so poised while dancing but he is over the top throwing his back and shaking his tush for the mish.  I think he was trying a little too hard. Misha spares his ex-boyfriend’s tush a glance smiles and looks away. LOL. The whole thing was cringey, tbh. It was so unlike Jensen.
When Sebastian touches Jensen’s shoulder and says something to Jensen, he [Jensen]  laughs way too hard. I would say he laughs abnormally-it’s loud and he throws his whole body into it like he’s trying to prove what Sebastian was funny and it probably wasn’t. He laughs so hard he ends up right on Misha’s side. and Misha laughs at that though.
Rich says something about something in the sac that hurts(It’s incoherent) and Jensen says it hurts right here pointing at his heart (I can’t hear what they are saying exactly so if anyone knows please let me know)
I don’t know if Mark P. was going to hug Jensen or not or he was pointing at something behind Jensen, but at that moment, Jensen sees Sebastian going to hug Misha and whips his head away from Mark P’s direction so fast he almost broke his neck.
Sebastian humps Misha (these two are so playful I love them) and Jensen is just there acting awkward
There’s a comment by Rich about “It’s over, the convention’s over I’m no longer your bitch” I don’t know who this is about.
Now, now, now. This whole time Rich is doing a kissy mouth with his fingers on the monitor behind Jensen and Misha. His hand is right where Misha is standing (you’ll understand once you watch it) so Jensen makes a kissy face back and Misha is blushing? Ummm wtf is going on here?
Jensen also does something strange that he never does during cockles panels he pulls his seat away from Misha.
Misha makes a very weird comment about Sebastian’s libido drying up and they have a weird conversation about libido and Viagra ads. It’s weird.
It gets even more awkward Jensen talks about bringing a total stranger, and a blind date. And it goes downhill from there with them. The it wasn’t you it was me speech. It was special. So heartbreaking. It was clearly not about the show but about their relationship. I always have a difficult time getting through that part. It’s so awkward that the fans are just there wondering what the hell is going on.
They decide to take questions and the fan is all over the place so Misha interjects but Jensen won’t let Misha say what he wants to say so he says, “This is why you make it awkward. You never let people finish what they are saying.” Ouch. Domestic dispute vibes anyone?
The way Jensen is looking up at Misha when he’s answering that question. It’s like he wants to sear his face into his memory before they leave Rome.
Jensen is explaining to a fan how one of the four sound stages they had on set was full of furniture and Misha adds “and soiled mattresses”  I mean what was the reason? Did they soil the mattresses with their [redacted]
A fan mentions something about Dean and Cas so these two adorable dorks smile and share a look. Things are starting to look up. Thank Jack.
The fan says something again (I can’t make out what he’s saying) but it must be something nice because they look at each other with smiles on their faces again.
Jensen playing with the head of his microphone. Is it just me or did the temperature rise a notch higher?
The way they look at each other when the fan says to help him choose the hottest female cast member on the show
Then something freaky happens they say the exact same thing as twins or bffs do sometimes. LOL.
When they start talking about the hot women with the fans Misha moves his entire body and now instead of looking at the fans, he is seated facing Jensen.  The tension is simmering down.
A point to note is that in all their panels they always sit angled facing each other as opposed to facing the crowd save for this panel and DCCON 2019. But for DCCON I can understand that they weren’t comfortable being meant to be a J/2 panel and a creation event. So you know some people in that crowd are super mean to Mish and others to Jensen, so they had to tread carefully. But I digress back to the chaos.
They ask who wants to have a cockles panel the next year and they both raise their hands. I thought that was sweet
It’s adorable how Jensen keeps repeating everything Misha is saying.
Misha forgets himself and moves too close to Jensen to listen to the song on the phone. Jensen turns to look at Misha, I don’t know what that look is but Misha backs away laughing.
Jensen’s face journey while listening to that song is gold.
Misha moves closer to listen to the song.  I have to say the way they are standing is not usually how two bros listening to music usually stand. If you know what I mean
Misha agrees that’s definitely Jensen singing. Of course, he knows because Mr. “Jensen sings to me all the time”
He looks so proud of him.  I’d venture to say he’s happy to hear Jensen sing because he has always been so shy about that fact about himself. He even gives him a standing ovation. That’s so adorable. He loves him. My heart.
Jensen is so cute trying to deny it’s not him singing that song.  Yeah, it’s you, Jensen. Even your ex agrees it’s you and we bet he knows how your voice sounds in all kinds of situations ;)
we get a tingly feeling so we know it’s you. Jensen’s adorable smile when Misha says that. Aww.
The way they are not even looking at each other but they are seated the exact same way.
Allow me to explain to my friend here. Explains how his parents didn’t know whether he was a boy or a girl. Misha with the steel chair, “when did they figure out that you were a boy?”
How many years did they call you holly?
For six to seven years
Is it just me or is this conversation a flashback of teenage twink-lesbian Jensen years?
Fan asks whether Dean will ever forgive Cas. Watch Misha’s body language, he is trying to pacify himself by rubbing the back of his neck and fumbling with his shirt.
When Jensen says “ No!” without a moment’s hesitation, Misha looks distraught? I don’t know maybe I’m reading too much into this but I feel like this hit too close to home being that they were most likely broken up.
Misha however has a different opinion, “I think he has”
Jensen says, “Wishful thinking” and that elicits a smile from Misha.
A fan asks about Dean giving Cas the trenchcoat back and things get interesting.  Weirdly, that Jensen can’t say the word gay out loud. He literally uses the word “unmanly” in its stead in the guise of censorship? It’s not a bad word Jensen you can say it. However, Misha and the fans say the word so I’m wondering who is censoring Jensen’s use of that word. He eventually says it but super fast.
Jensen says that saying “I always knew you would come back” is not something he would say to another human being, especially a man. Jesus, there’s nothing wrong with saying that to another human being you care about. He’s the one making it gay. He was extra when answering that one.
They spent one and half hours making that scene just to end up not saying anything and it ended up looking gay anyway. Anyway, that’s interesting.
Jensen angles his body towards Mish and says in a very low soft and sexy voice “I guess I really hoped that you would come back some day” I would venture to say that Jensen at the moment in the panel was actually saying them to Misha. Who knows though?
They talk about it a whole lot for something that bothered him that much.
Misha being so excited about recreating a scene when a fan told Jarpad he’s amazing and Jarpad said "you are welcome.
“I think I understand what she wants. I’m not sure what she’s gonna get.” This is a very good line Misha. I will be using it often.
The way they awkwardly stand too close and whisper to each other. Umm…what is going on here?
Jensen folds over laughing because of something Misha says. They are back. The tension is almost 90% gone now and they are in their element.
The chaos of recording the alarm ringtone for the fan was just great to watch. They kept getting closer and closer and I think they might have shared spit at that point. Gross….LOL
The way Misha is sitting is he you know.
Jensen asking Misha whether he was saying anything or just screaming while they were recording. I think he just wanted to see Misha smile.
Jensen’s joy when a fan mentions that they have Misha’s résumé.
Jensen saying the word shit made my day. I curse a  lot and it made me feel validated somehow.
Misha calls him dickhead in return and Jensen stops functioning and laughs instead . He also gets all hot and bothered trying to fumble with the lapel of his shirt.  He does this a lot when he is turned on. He has a humiliation kink I think.
They start talking over each other about Misha’s special skills. Looks like Jensen might have known beforehand because he went straight for that. Or maybe he didn’t know but he knew since Misha is a mad genius there must be some amazing things in there. Either way, it was a good moment.
OMG Jensen is so excited and the way he motions to Misha to bring that résumé to him, LOL. This man was thirsty AF.
He even goes down from the stage to meet Misha and invades his personal space trying to reach the résumé. I think this is the moment the tension between them dissipated completely and they were back to some form of normalcy.
Misha holding Jensen’s shoulder trying to get his résumé back. Unsucessfully, I should add.
They read something funny and they fold over laughing and spin around like overjoyed seals. It is far removed from the mollusk family but at least it’s still a sea creature (I don’t know what I’m saying please don’t mind me)
Jensen is still on his knees laughing and can’t get up. As I said, he is being too extra in this panel.
Misha is trying to talk but they both can’t stop laughing. I think Jensen laughed so hard he got an extra set of abs that day.
Jensen is still laughing and you know what he is laughing at? Misha’s special skills being acting on camera. I mean it’s funny but man, prayforjensen.
They are still laughing. Jack, help them.
The way Jensen looks at Misha with pure adoration here makes me so happy and reminds me of the fictional characters they played being all heart eyes for each other.
Misha laughed so hard he cried.
Jensen trying to read the next ‘special skill’ Misha has but he can’t even talk because of how funny he thinks it is. He’s trying so hard not to laugh but he can’t help himself.
Jensen agreeing and also asking the audience to agree that Misha has a knack for certain accents. Accent kink anyone?
Jensen is so excited when Misha starts Tibetan throating singing and does the unicorn laugh facing away from the crowd. Bet he has experienced Misha’s Tibetan throat singing skills on a personal when they are (loud overhead helicopter noises followed by thunder rumbling)
Jensen falling to the ground after feigning a heart attack once he saw that Misha is a certified EMT. I mentioned before that I honestly, 100% think he wanted mouth to mouth. There’s no other explanation. He could’ve feigned a nose bleed or just about any other illness but he chose to fall on a dirty floor and lay down so Misha could either give him the breath of life or straddle him. Luckily for him his dream came true 7 years later at Jib9 when straddle gate happened. But I digress
Too bad Misha was still mad at him and heartbroken so he kicked him instead.
Jensen knowing that Misha kayaks seems to be part of his personal knowledge. Maybe they did it together sometimes.
Horseback riding. Hmm is it just me or do they seem awkward here?
Misha is so close to Jensen’s armpits. Must be missing his man’s musk and being held in those muscular arms again. Poor baby.
Misha can’t talk because of how funny he finds bicycle touring. I mean…I don’t see what’s funny but I guess he knows why it’s funny.
Misha laughing and raises his legs because Jensen is elaborating on the bicycle touring. Maybe it’s an inside joke or maybe it’s no longer funny to me because I’ve watched this panel like 5 times.
I think Jensen’s goal was to see Misha laugh and be happy because he turned to look at Misha who was still laughing hard and the joy on Jensen’s face. Aww.
Misha gravitating towards his man again. He must smell really nice Misha. And those arms. Bet he used to lift you against the wall and (this fucking thunder won’t stop rambling. Are chuck and Amara fighting again?)
Jensen marketing his man’s carpentry skills but then makes sure to make it ‘no homo’ by saying he would never sit on anything Misha has built. Sure Jan. Then he circles back and says that he knows that he can build things.
Misha walks away from him and he looks up to make sure where he is going. Maybe he was afraid Misha was walking out on him. (PTSD from their breakup?)
They mention acting on camera again.
And laugh
Jensen keeps talking about the acting on camera and watches to see if Misha is still laughing  He still is and Jensen is happy that his baby is happy. He looks at him again and he is still happy that Misha is still happy. Then once the laughter dies down he starts talking about bicycle touring  and checks again to see if Misha is laughing which he is so Jensen throws his head back  unicorn laughing and then looks at Misha again to see that he’s still laughing. Then they look at each other and say something maybe it’s about that was a good laugh. Jensen is wiping tears from his eyes because of how hard he laughed  Misha does the same. That entire thing was insane and they seemed to love it.
Jensen starts saying that being this happy or goofing around is how they are on set sometimes and have to take a 5-10 minute break and Misha doesn’t seem too happy at the mention of the set.
Jensen knowing that you can buy résumés on eBay. Did he buy Misha’s and then plant someone in the audience to bring it up or? Okay, yeah I know I’m reaching here but it’s probable.
I guess my theory wasn’t farfetched because Jensen says that he’s pretty sure that Jarpad put it on eBay the previous night so maybe he is the one who did all that to win Misha back?
Jensen knows the appellation clogging is a stretch. Seems like Misha has told him about it before.
Jensen looking at his watch to see if they have time for  Misha to be telling a story about his high school sweetheart and now wife. I bet he wishes Misha could tell their love story so openly. He can’t stop looking at Misha.
The way Jensen is looking at Misha here. WTF man? He’s literally confused about what the question is.
The personal space question. This whole thing was just so many things. It was awkward, cringey, thirsty, funny.
when the fan asks whether there’s a funny fact between Jensen and Misha. I almost fainted. What? And Jensen repeats it. The two men are so stoic. They are not even looking at each other. They are looking at the fan like the way a statue stares at you, unmoving. Cringe.
The room is so quiet. Poor girl, I hope she didn’t feel awkward afterwards because if it were me, I would’ve cried from how stoic they looked and how quiet everyone was.
How they both scratch themselves, Misha on the head and Jensen on the nose. Maybe the question hit too close to home
Jensen turns to look at Misha as if to say ’help me out here man. We don’t wanna disappoint our fans.”
Misha gets it because he gets up. This whole thing is gold.
The way Jensen breathes out in anticipation. I know it was like they were playing a skit about personal space but why was he breathing like that? Shouldn’t he have been playing it as ‘uncomfortable’ not ‘turned on.’ Boudoir mannerisms.
Moving on Misha is unsure on where to touch Jensen 40.31. This is weird in and of itself because usually, they don’t have a problem touching each other’s faces, tush, eggplants, (jib4 anyone), backs et cetera. But now it’s weird? *cough* breakup *cough*
Misha touches Jensen’s ear and Jensen literally moans. He frigging moans people. In case it is not clear in the video, here is an isolated audio version of it. Jensen is also fumbling with his shirt like he’s all hot and bothered. Just like Misha did earlier. Was Jib3 their couple’s therapy that reminded them how happy and horny they made each other?
Jensen is really not answering the question, to be honest. He’s fumbling for words and trying so very hard to make sense but his word are  incoherent.
Misha going in for the nose dip. I know friends do this all the time but you have to be very close and familiar with someone such as a friend friend or a sibling for you to poke a finger in their nose. I mean noses are slimy and eww…anyway. That happened. They seem so comfortable with it. Jensen I love you but please stop talking.
The way Jensen looks at Misha. He has the cutest smile on his face as if saying thank you for making that fun and making me horny, I still want you.
Misha wiping his pinky that touched Jensen’s nose on his pants. (I wanted to add something disgusting about what heshould’ve done with that pinky but I won’t so let’s move on)
Jensen wiggling his nose.
When Misha suggests that Spn moves to Nickolodeon. Jensen laughs a bit too hard.
Misha talking about spn being a puppet show reminds me of how he mentioned them having a puppet show in Jensen’s backyard after the show is over.
Jensen also saying that in a way spn is a puppet show. I mean is someone making snide comments about how their strings get pulled and sometimes they are not happy about it. Like how they fired his boyfriend. It seems like it’s an inside joke.
They named the plushie Zippy aww :))
For jack’s sake guys, the way they look at each other when they mention that the  résumé was the highlight of the panel.
Jensen saying the more dirt you dig up on Misha, the more rewarded you are. Aww, someone’s trying to win his man back by any means necessary. You go girl…I mean Jensen.
He talks more about how he’s looking forward to next year when fans have more dirt on his friend Misha. Jensen didn’t want to leave the stage, he was lingering so he could spend more time with Misha.
It’s over guys.
Closing Ceremony
I know you didn’t ask for the closing ceremony but here you go. It’s a free gift.
Can I just mention how Jarpad is an overactive puppy? He has to play with anything and everything he finds.
The mc announces Misha twice for some reason. The second time Jensen looks in Misha’s direction with a small smile on his face. He [Jensen] is also chewing vigorously.
Jensen and Jarpad being typical dude bros and karate chop Rich. This is why the difference between his relationship with Jarpad and Misha stands out. He would be too busy making heart eyes to Misha to kick another guy. LoL.
Jensen hulking out when Jarpad is taking a video of everyone. Lol. This video keeps reiterating my point that his relationship with the two men is just different.
Jensen keeps looking in Misha’s direction, Misha who is busy talking to Steve and having fun. Let me also mention Steve is Jensen’s bestie and so are Jarpad and Misha, but I’m sure that Jensen felt some type of way, jealous when they were having so much fun with his man and he couldn’t. Jarpad also takes a while filming Misha for Jensen of course. They remind me of me having a crush back when I was in school. Wait, did Misha look at Jensen? It’s hard to see because the angle of the video is not expansive but I guess he was.
As soon as Jarpad gets back, Jensen takes the camera from him and starts filming fans. I’m sure he just wanted Misha to look at him
Rich mention’s Misha and something about acting on camera and Jensen licks his lips looking at Misha (I think).
Jensen then vigorously grabs the microphone from someone immediately and mention’s Misha. Jarpad’s reaction at that moment tells you everything you need to know about what’s going on between Jensen and Misha. It looks like he is pleading with Jensen in his head saying, “Don’t embarrass yourself bro. Please don’t” but it’s too late.
Jensen again talks about Misha’s résumé and specifically about acting on camera, the thing that made Misha laugh out loud during their panel. Someone’s smitten. Defending his ex-man.
Jarpad goes to whisper something to Misha. And they laugh while Jensen is thanking the jib staff for doing an amazing job. But when he sees the duo laughing, he loses track of thought and says “and they are all getting married”  dude what ??? How do you go from thanking people who worked on the convention and in .1 seconds you are talking about they are all getting married? Who is? Are you okay? Do you need to sit down? No one gets it, he says he’s kidding and gives Jarpad the microphone, spares a glance at Misha and he seems distraught from that moment on. I wish I could see Misha’s face through all this.
He’s glancing in Misha’s direction again. Man’s got it bad. What?! Oh to be loved by Jensen Ackles. Misha must be a prize, I know he is a mad genius and gorgeous and sexy as hell with that golden skin that looks like it was dipped in gold and honey, big blue eyes that are bluer than the bluest blue, but Jensen wtf man? You are in public.
I think Jarpad is telling Jensen something maybe it has to do with what he and Misha were talking about earlier?
And it’s over people.
Overall, I agree with the breakup theory. I mean the way these two were acting around each other was very strange. If you watch Misha and Jarpad, they seem okay from the opening ceremony up till the end but Jensen and Misha are just being weird.
The panel was mostly fun but their body language told a story that something was definitely going on between them.

Hiii!! First off love your writing!!! Second I was hoping we could get a part two to cold night? Sweet luv ya!!
A Cold Night. | N.L. (Part 2)
Tumblr media
in which neville tries to make up for what happen at the yule ball.
warnings: swearing, just a tad bit of angst!
i honestly didn’t expect for anyone to actually want a pt 2 to this but once again, you ask i deliver!
PART 1 HERE!
it had been a whole week since the night of the yule ball. one whole week of the silent treatment from y/n, and neville felt like he was losing it.
he couldn’t even put into words the guilt that remained sitting in his gut. especially when he would look at her from his seat in one of their shared classes, and she would shoot daggers right into his soul. it was truly killing him. and, he wished he could fix it.
“y/n, will you please get in a better mood? i’m trying to focus, and i can practically feel the anger leaking off of you!” hermione exclaimed, tending to the plant that sat in front of them. y/n simply rolled her eyes at her friend,
“sorry that my emotions are distracting you from cutting... whatever this is!” y/n aggravatingly stated, flicking the mystery plant in front of them, “what in merlin’s beard are we even supposed to be doing anyway?”
hermione huffed and narrowed her eyes at her friend, “were you seriously not listening to sprout? we’re supposed to be carefully trimming the leaves off of this—well... i forgot what it’s called.”
y/n didn’t respond to her, just simply looked over at neville who was going around, helping others around the greenhouse with their assignment. she clenched her jaw, still remembering the yule ball mishap. she didn’t know why, but she still felt so spiteful over it.
why couldn’t neville ask her to the yule ball? was it not obvious enough that she fancied him? or was he truly just that oblivious?
why couldn’t it have been her that night?
“merlin, i have absolutely no idea what i’m doing...” hermione admitted, slamming the trimmers down on the table. y/n chuckled from hermione’s failed attempt at having an attitude, and shook her head.
just as y/n was feeling some sort of relief from her angst, the root of the problem came strolling along to their table. he was visibly nervous as he glanced at y/n for a second, and then at hermione.
“h-hey guys... do you need some help?” he asked, his voice soft.
“actually, yes! we would—“
“piss off, longbottom.” y/n cut hermione off, and hermione’s jaw dropped. the girl scoffed, and neville simply nodded his head in defeat, and walked away.
hermione hit y/n’s arm, and y/n let out a yelp, “ow! what was that for?”
“we needed his help! why would you do that?”
y/n rolled her eyes, “we don’t need his help! we can figure it out on our own!”
y/n picked up the trimmers, and started observing the plant harshly, studying the leaves and where they were growing from,
“if you make us fail this assignment... i’ll never speak to you again, y/n.”
turns out, hermione and y/n did end up failing that assignment. and, if things couldn’t get worse, hermione cursed y/n’s name for making her average drop, which was always quite annoying considering y/n knew that hermione would never fall from her class rank, as she was at the top.
fortunately for the two girls, professor sprout had blessed them with a makeup assignment. it was a simple essay that had to be written, about the properties of any plant of their choice. but, it needed to be four to five pages.... at least.
y/n sat in the library, multiple herbology books scattered in front of her. she bit down on her thumb, staring at the blank parchment. she had no idea what plant would be the easiest to write about, and quite honestly, even if she did, she didn’t know how to describe it. neville had always assisted her in times like this, especially when it came to herbology, but that wasn’t an option.
she huffed, and glanced out the window. she saw students in small groups, talking and laughing. she envied them, as she wished she could not only be free from this dreadful essay, but as well, that she could actually speak with her friends.
“y/n?”
y/n whipped her head around, and spotted a nervous ginny weasley standing a little ways away from her designated table. she rolled her eyes, looking away from the ginger. she knew it was probably unfair to be angry at ginny, but she couldn’t help the spitefulness that she had pent up.
“i know you’re angry at me, but... can we talk?”
y/n bit down on her lip in aggravation, and turned her head once more, “what is there to talk about, weasley? i think i’ve made it pretty clear to you and longbottom both that i want the two of you to piss off.”
truthfully, ginny and y/n had never been super close, as ginny was in a year below all of y/n’s friends (herself included). but ginny would be lying if she said that it didn’t hurt her feelings to know that y/n had a grudge held against her.
“i know. but, i need to tell you something. so please... you don’t have to talk, just listen.”
y/n thought about it for a moment, knowing that ginny wouldn’t stop pestering her if she said no, so she motioned for ginny to sit down in front of her. the girl did so slowly, setting her bag down on the table quietly.
“you deserve to know what happened, y/n. that night—“
“i fucking know what happened, weasley. trust me.”
ginny sighed, “no. before the ball. the truth about neville and me, and why he even asked me in the first place.”
that’s when y/n’s thoughts began to take ahold of her.
did ginny and neville kiss? were they official now? what was ginny about to say that could possibly shatter y/n’s heart more than it already had been?
“neville and me... we’re just friends, y/n. strictly friends!” ginny informed her, her hands hitting the table lightly. “and... the only reason he even asked me is because i didn’t have a date, and neither did he.”
y/n scoffed, “well, i didn’t have a date either. you two weren’t the ones that ended up going alone and sitting by themselves all night!”
y/n hadn’t realized it, but thinking back to that night had caused tears to form in her eyes. she could only remember the jealousy, and the sadness from seeing them two on the dance floor together, seemingly having the time of their lives.
“yeah... because neville wanted to ask you.”
the statement sparked interest in y/n’s chest, and she narrowed her eyes at ginny,
“w-what?”
ginny sighed once more, and glanced around for a moment, “y/n... the only reason why neville asked me is because he wanted to ask you. but, you know how he is... he was afraid that you had already found someone. and, i’m honestly surprised that you didn’t. you know, you being pretty and all...”
y/n’s lips parted as she tried to process the information.
neville wanted to go with her?
“you—you’re lying...”
ginny shook her head, “i’m not! i would never lie about something like this. he told me himself. before, during, and even after the ball. you don’t even know how guilty he felt when you ran off crying.”
the thoughts running through y/n’s head were going at a pace that not even she herself could keep up with. she glanced down at her books, and then back up at ginny, and began to hurriedly collect her belongings.
“where are you going?” ginny asked, her eyebrows furrowed.
“i-i have to go find him! i have to apologize for being such a bitch to him this last week! mind putting these books up for me?” y/n asked, shoving her stuff into her bag.
“uh, yeah... definitely! go find him!”
y/n flashed a small smile at ginny, taking her by surprise. she began to walk off, but suddenly stopped and turned around as ginny began to close her abandoned books,
“ginny,” y/n called out, and ginny looked at her, “i’m sorry.”
ginny smiled at her, “it’s alright, y/n. just go and fix it.”
y/n nodded once more, and stormed off before ginny could say anything else.
she began to search, and search hard. she considered every place that neville could be, as he was one to hide away from the world when things felt too stressful.
y/n spotted seamus and dean in the hall, and ran up to them,
“oh! hey—“
“do you guys know where longbottom is?”
the two boys looked at each other, questioning looks etched upon their faces,
“uh, no. we haven’t seen him since earlier today. why?” dean told her,
“um... no reason. thanks for letting me know. i’ll see you guys later!”
and with that, she stormed off down the hallway. seamus and dean looked at each other once more,
“girls...” seamus huffed, and shook his head, dean agreeing with a chuckle.
y/n made her way to the greenhouse, more than sure that neville would be there. but, when she peaked in, he wasn’t anywhere to be seen. it truly began to worry her, and she had to take a few deep breaths before she continued her search for the gryffindor boy that she adored so much.
as she stood against the wall for a moment, she realized one more place where he could’ve been.
she was running all over the place, trying to get to the destination as fast as she could. she pushed passed people, muttering small apologies to them as they scoffed from her “lack of manners”.
finally, she arrived. and, when she began to slow down, she spotted the boy. she took a breath of relief before continuing to walk.
he stood in the lake, pants rolled up to his knees, staring at the plant in his hand. just like he always did. and usually, y/n would be sitting under the tree that sat right next to the lake, listening to his small lessons about the qualities of the new found plants.
neville heard footsteps approaching, and he looked up to see a panting y/n, gasping for air.
“y/n? are you alright?”
she didn’t respond, only threw her bag down and put her hands on her knee caps in an attempt to catch her breath from all of the running she had just done.
“fine... just... winded...” she responded in between heavy breaths, feeling as if she could puke.
neville stepped out of the lake, slowly approaching the girl, plant and dirt still in hand. “well... why are you so winded?”
y/n finally fully stood up, and wiped the little sweat that had formed on her forehead. she glanced up and down, observing how he looked. he always looked so adorable at times like this. it made her realize how much she had actually missed him.
“to—to find you. i couldn’t find you anywhere, so... well—never mind that. it doesn’t matter.” she quickly shook off her verbal thoughts, and lightly smiled at him. “i talked to ginny...”
his eyes widened a little, and he coughed awkwardly as he set the small water plant down on the ground, “you did?”
she nodded, “yeah... is it true?”
he looked at her, his cheeks beginning to flush. he knew exactly what she meant.
“yeah... it—it is true. all of it. i’m sorry i didn’t—“
that’s when y/n did something she had dreamed about doing ever since they were 12 years old. she walked up to him, grabbed him by the collar, and forced their lips together in a gentle kiss.
neville was taken back for a moment, but slowly leaned into her. his hand came up to her cheek, and he brought her closer, as he had waited for this very same moment since the first time they had met.
the two pulled away, breathless, lips swollen and pink. neville removed his hand slowly, only to find that he had smudged dirt onto her face.
“um... you got some dirt—“
she giggled, and wiped it off with her sleeve. he smiled at her, taking the moment in.
she then fixed his collar, a bright smile on her face,
“we can save the “i missed you’s” for later. i have a herbology essay to write, and i have no idea how i’m going to get it done.”
