23.11.23 | the grand hobonichi conspiracy!!!

i finally broke into my hobonichi hon a5. i nearly didn't film a single second because it was two in the morning and my first instinct has never been to record what i'm doing. so many of my favourite things from my planners, fountain pens, howl's moving castle, and my little ghost friend are in a singular photo. i'm currently thinking about the fact i might need another planner, though.

any opinions on the hobonichi planners? i’m looking at the original A6 and the weekly because they seem very portable BUT i love a weekly spread that the original doesn’t have and i’m worried about the weekly one being too cramped to fit everything

hobonichi cousin avec 2024

y'all. i straight up forgot i had scheduled a video to post while we were still on vacation. 😹 but i'll be using the hobonichi cousin avec with the love it (panda) cover, in the hopes that everything (bullet journaling, memory keeping/scrapbooking, long-form journaling, commonplacing) will fit in these two books. still on the hunt for a digital alternative to notion so feel free to let me know your suggestions! (as fyi, i've already looked at obsidian - not a fan of the aesthetic and learning curve - and have experimented a little with the new ios feature that lets you like notes together - lot of setup at the beginning, but that's not dissimilar to notion).

buying a new yearly planner is like a religious experience for me. huge fan of beginnings and ends

#hobonichi a6 planner is my one true love in life ngl #they had an earthbound themed one this year you do not know how happy i am #i was thinking of maybe trying their weekly planner this year but as soon as i saw the earthbound one j knew i needed it #maybe next year #honestly it functions as a to-do list as well as a planner for me so i cant really make the space sacrifice of going ti a smaller one #but also the a5 is wayyy too big for me #so im chilling with a6 #its very handy and if i wear cargo pants (i always do) itll fit in the pockets ! neat

#I want the a5 planner instead of the a6 because I have more stuff to write not because my handwriting is abnormally big jesus christ #also i found a planner that had the exact same layout I used for my bullet journal when I used to do that but it was a cringy paulo coelho #themed planner for some reason #in general I was disappointed with the planner selection so no planner for me :/ #will try again tomorrow in a different store

the convenience stores are actually more than that. convenient. the atmosphere is most welcoming. i don't have to go to specialized stores to get what I want. they have the exact cup noodle I need and I can even get emergency smallclothes and school stationery. the cashier is so kind. what love, what joy. the fried chicken is also good.

This is when I had first finished gluing this cover together for my A5 ring planner. I stitched on some patches and a pen loop to black cotton canvas, then glued the fabric to some 3mm book board. It came out pretty rigid, but at least it's protective for my book.
