I often think that I'm too Broken. Not cracked or chipped, but utterly shattered. Fractured in a way that can't be reassembled the way i was before .

But then i lookup, and i see the universe in all its luminous glow.

And i know that you can still shine brilliantly even in pieces.

I did this for a couple of reasons. Women in these shelters have precious few personal belongings with them. Books are usually not one of them. Also, I thought back to a time in my life when I was in a similar situation, and I would have loved to have read a book like Silent Squall then. The theme is about navigating through the emotional ramifications and rebuilding a life after abuse. It is my hope that this book lets everyone who has been in an abusive relationship know that they are not alone.
