Hallo, may I please get a platonic parent/sibling figure for Hazbin hotel matchups, if you allow platonic matchups? Thanks either way.
I am not quite certain on what to supposedly add so please excuse any unnecessary information.
Information : my name is Ron, a male, I am a diagnosed autistic with possibly ADHD (I did not get diagnosed with ADHD, I only suspect it), non-verbal, a Muslim from Palestine🇵🇸, Iraq🇮🇶 and Jordan🇯🇴, I am a repulsed Aromantic and Heterosexual Ace (like, little to no attraction), to me family is the most precious thing in the entire world (plot twist : getting beaten like 4 times a week by parents and older brother and insulted daily, yay).
Likes : I really have huge dreams, and I am proud of this :]. I want to be an author, an artist and an encyclopedic scientist. Which requires that I have to work hard. My favorite science subjects are : Zoology, botany, Marine biology, astronomy, biochemistry, Geology and war art. I like collecting and shiny things.
Hates : being physically weaker and shorter than the average boys my age, more than one people speaking at once, unnecessary complicated informations, being treated like a pet.
Relationship preference : someone that actually cares and allow to be cared of. like, when I do something that might harm me they warn me, no sugar coating.
Bye bye.
omg wait yes i will totally do one!!!
And dw i get it lol!! My parents are balkan- most people from where i live are spilt muslim & catholic!!
I’ve decided your platonic matchup is…….. ROSIE!!!
Tumblr media
Cannibal mama!!
She is probably the biggest sweetheart to her kids!
She would LOVE to hear about your likes, and support you in it all!!! Shes like “THATS MY KID!!!”
She’ll make sure she can provide you with anything you need.
She won’t sugar coat things. She tries to understand, but she’ll tell you it straight. She doesn’t want you getting hurt.
I personally see rosie as someone who’s also into botany!!!
If you wanted, she’d even read your novels and tell you what to fix/correct!!
Although there aren’t really stars in hell, she’ll make sure you can still study astronomy and bring you to the human realm! only by her side though.
If you like Marine biology she’ll tell you to go to leviathans ring.
Probably has a collection of the stuff you collect, either frames it in her emporium, or has a wall full of it!!
Thankfully rosie knows how to listen, and she gives great advice.
~~~~~
thank you for requesting love!! So sorry i got to this so late :(
HOPE YOU ENJOY!
🍓Synastry Astro Observations🍓
(Cause I haven't been active for three months)
Tumblr media
🍓Regardless of the sign a planet is in, it is important to check the aspects it makes to other planets. This is especially the case for synastry charts and readings as aspects create an activation that can enhance, block or overturn the energy of said planets.
🍓People with Sun conjunct Sun aspect are very competitive with one another. This is usually exasperated when one or both have this aspect in a Fire house.
🍓Natives with Mars squaring others Neptune are usually challenging people realities. For the Mars native, the Neptune person is usually a cause of drama or someone that is petty or inauthentic. The Mars person can easily see through the Neptune person facade. However positively, the Neptune person can soothe the Mars native, despite their defensiveness. For the Neptune native on the other hand, this could be a relationship where the Mars person helps them overcome and outgrow harmful cycles, or actualize their dreams. Worst case, the Mars person is very harmful to the Neptune native mental health and psyche. They could be an abuser of sorts.
🍓Mercury trine Mars are people that can help each other process things and brainstorm as they work very well with one another balancing ideas and workload. This is the dream team for any project.
🍓People with their MC in square aspect to your Sun might feel embarrassed to be seen with you in public. Best case they prefer to be more personal and private with you, bringing you into their personal space and away from their outer persona.
🍓Personally, I have found that the predominance of Squares usually only works in context of friendship rather than in romance, sex or family. Although it could create conflict between personalities, when done right, it can signify support, companionship or even someone that'll be instrumental in helping you break out of toxic patterns or elevate into a higher level and field.
🍓MC square MC is an indication of having drama or a falling out publicly.
🍓Lunar Nodes in aspect to your personal planets have a strong effect on you, although it would be temporary. Meanwhile, someone Nodes in your angular houses (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) will play a big role in your life. This is would be particularly true if they're in aspect to your Ascendant/Descendant/IC/MC.
🍓Aspects between Venus and Venus create more harmony and attraction than positive aspects between Mars and Venus/ Mars and Mars.
🍓Jupiter conjunct Saturn are two sides of the same coin. They're two people with the same ideals and principles yet they approach and practice them differently.
🍓Even though it is not "official" or as widely done, but I give great importance to the compatibility between the houses in synastry, regardless of the planets present. Since the houses are a reflection of our life map, it can help us better understand our similarities and differences, plus our possible standpoints.
🍓When looking over synastry with a parent, take a good look at the aspects made by their Saturn and Chiron to your personal placements. Chiron in specific can show where/what they unleash or heal their trauma through you.
🍓Mars opposition Saturn is a high indication of a relationship being described as a "Cold War".
🍓Having Chiron and/or Pluto conjunct someone inner planets means you're are here to serve them karma or bring them justice.
🍓Ascendant conjunct Venus creates a very beautiful pairing. Whether it's romantic or platonic, this pair accentuate one another's beauty.
🍓Check the aspects your Neptune makes to the other person. The planets aspected indicate where do you overlook traits, paint a false picture, or what are you in denial about regrading the person. This works in terms of justifying behavior, making up a connection, and possibly lying on or magnifying "bad traits" in others that don't exist. It also goes the other way around.
🍓The placement of someone's Moon in your houses can summarize their emotional state towards you or what they find in common with you on a deeper level. For example:
Someone's Moon in your 1st house can be a person that feels endowed or in awe of your appearance (especially when their Moon is inconjunction with your Ascendant). You may carry yourself in a way that they relate to or deeply desire. This person may also be someone that shares superficial feelings of you or thinks that you're shallow. Possible jealousy.
Someone's Moon in your 2nd house is a sign of codependence, specifically of the Moon native towards you. Since the 2nd house rules resources and self esteem, this person may require a lot from you, and might be a bit too comfortable taking things from you. You yourself may also enable this behavior and don't see a problem with it. In some cases, this could be a person that is emotionally supportive and reinforcing of your own worth. In contrast, this could be someone that creates blockages and hinders your material growth.
Someone's Moon in your 3rd house will be a person that you feel very comfortable talking to. This can be someone you find out that they're from the same hometown as you or have lived/is living in your childhood neighborhood. A potential life long roomie. An indication of a nurturing or "motherly" way of communicating with one another.
Someone's Moon in your 10th is similar to that of the 1st, in that the Moon person would be either in awe or jealous of you. In this house, this is exhibited overtly. This person could be your biggest cheerleader or biggest hater. Something about you succeeding (or even failing) affects them deeply. It's likely that this person won't have your best interest at heart and may use associating with you as a way to gain fame or monetary wealth. In positive cases, this person could be a confidant in professional environments.
🍓People that have more than two planets in your water houses (4th, 8t, 12th) will have a profound effect on you for the rest of this lifetime. These houses are not only related to our deeper selves and private life, but they're also karmic. Our relationship with such people is much more darker and intimate, showing hidden aspects of ourselves that we may not be aware of. Being around them may be draining as those relationships can feel like a blood oath, to say the least. Particularly for the 12th, this person can unravel you in the best (and worst) ways possible. As the house of hidden enemies, this person might be harmful to you in an unforeseen ways. If both of you share planets in these houses then it's an indication of trauma bonding.
🍓A person with their natal Mars in your 8th house can be someone oddly provoking. Its giving "why do I even like you?". These are not the people you usually find attractive yet they have a strange hold on you. They're your forbidden fruit.
🍓Aspects made to the ascendent can explain ones first impression of another. For example, Venus in aspect to the ascendent describes a sense of intrigue and attraction based off of desire (Opposition), envy (Square), resonance (Conjunct), belonging (Trine), or curiosity (Sextile).
Bye Ugly xoxo
In Her Shadow - An Arthurian Interactive Fiction (inspired by but very loosely based)
Tumblr media
Tag List for Asks
Content Warning: This game will be rated 18+ for violence, mature language, death, optional sexual content, and possibly other things I haven't added yet. So, adults only.
You are the sibling of Guinevere. Yes, that one - the one married to King Arthur of Camelot. But you are not loved like your sister. While she has only ever been kind toward you (under false pretenses), the rest of your family and those at your family’s court have not.
For you have only ever lived in her shadow…
When your father disowns you and throws you out, your sister invites you to Camelot. But you soon realize that Camelot is not the sanctuary you believed, as war is brewing with the Saxons.
What role will you play? A warrior, diplomat, or spy? Or, perhaps, you only want to survive.
While in Camelot, you’ll have the opportunity to build relationships with various characters and decide how the war plays out.
Tumblr media
Demo: TBD - probably not for a while! or it will be quite short at first. This is just a little side project and I don't want it to affect my other project.
Features:
Play as male, female, or non-binary;
Choose appearance, pronouns, and your personal creed;
Choose the reason your father disowns you;
Build relationships with various characters (platonic, romantic, familial). Or break relationships.
Decide whether you want to be a warrior, diplomat, or spy. Whether you care about your duties or only appear to care will be up to you.
Tumblr media
The following characters can be romanced, befriended, or ???
Arthur Pendragon - The King
27 years old | he/him | male
Arthur is your sister’s husband and the King of Camelot. He’s intelligent and protective of those he cares for. But he’s wary of most and getting close to him is not easy. He has to make some tough decisions. Will you encourage brutality to protect Camelot or insist there’s another way?
Lancelot du Lac - The Revered Knight
29 years old | he/him | male
Lancelot is a revered Knight of the Round Table and a dear friend to Arthur. He is fiercely loyal to Arthur and Camelot. This one has a temper and is ready and willing to drive his sword into those who would stand in Arthur’s way.
Merlin Emrys - The Court Enchanter
30 years old | xe/xem | non-binary
Merlin is the court enchanter. Sometimes a mentor to Morgana, other times their rival. Depends on the day. Xe prefers studying the arcane as opposed to dinner parties and dances.
Kay Ectorius - The Saxon Knight
24 years old | she/her | female
Kay is a friend to Arthur and a Knight of the round table. Although born a Saxon, she has long severed ties to her old life and considers Camelot and its court her home. She looks up to Lancelot and hopes to prove her abilities and dedication in a similar fashion.
Morgana le Fay - The Enchantress
23 years old | she/they | female
Morgana is Arthur’s half-sister and also the lover of Queen Guinevere, your sister. They are a powerful enchantress focused on keeping Camelot and those they care for safe.
Tumblr media
Guinevere - The Queen
26 years old | she/her | female
Guinevere is your sister and is married to Arthur. Although she views Arthur as a friend, and he views her the same way, their marriage is nothing more than that. She is only attracted to women and her lover is Morgana. Unless you decide to change that…
Bran Leodegrance - Your Father and King of Cameliard
Bran is your father, but he’s always kept you at an arm's length. Growing up, you watched as he showered your sister in affection and care, while you were pushed to the side. Perhaps it’s because your mother died giving birth to you. You’re not sure because he’s only ever spoken to you or acknowledged you when absolutely necessary.
I don't have the original request for this but this has been another request that's been in my drafts for months. They did not specify where in the time-line this is so I just did a general yandere behavior based on his personality. I am still new to ToG and need to catch up on the Web-Toon. Despite that, I hope you still like this despite how long it took.
I might get his character wrong so I'm sorry :(
Yandere! Khun Aguero Agnis Concept
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Manipulation, Dubious relationship, Mentions of possessive behavior, Overprotective behavior, Self-destructive behavior, Isolation, Selfish behavior.
Tumblr media
Aguero Agnis, or just Aguero, seems like he'd be a very clever yandere.
The Khun family are very tricky individuals and Aguero would definitely display such a trait in his behavior.
Aguero, whom I will now just refer to as Khun, would've met his darling during his climb up The Tower with Baam and the others.
He'd also be a yandere who would take awhile to open up to a darling.
Khun has trust issues... a lot of them.
Betrayal happens in his family, so he often has trouble relying on others.
The same would go with his darling even if you are teammates.
You'd have to prove yourself to him during your ascension of The Tower in order to make his yandere tendencies spark.
Khun is a smart schemer who plays by his own rules.
He plans and can manipulate those around him with what seems like ease.
I can imagine he'd know just how to play his darling into his hands if he likes them that much.
Khun is a good ally to have once you get him to trust and open up to you.
Once he realizes he can trust his darling, he's friendly and caring to those he likes.
He becomes attentive to you once you pass through his guarded personality.
Khun has a tendency to hide how he really feels.
If he ever had romantic intentions with his darling then it's hard to tell.
Khun cares deeply for what's precious to him and would sacrifice a lot to obtain it.
He may not often show his care towards you.
Khun also doesn't mind hiding what he cares for from others.
Like you.
Khun seems like the type of yandere who would be able to outsmart his darling.
He's intelligent and often bends the rules to benefit him in trials.
Something tells me Khun is someone who knows how to make things go his way.
Khun would use violence when necessary even if he is a planner.
Especially if it meant to protect you.
Part of Khun worries his feelings for you will make him weak or vulnerable in a way.
That's why he hides them.
Although it becomes increasingly harder to excuse his obsession when it makes him grow reckless for you.
I'd say Khun is an overprotective yandere.
To show his attachment he works on plans that guarantee your safety and ensures you both pass your tests, no matter the role.
He isn't a yandere who'd be violent for no reason, even when jealous.
He plans, he schemes, then he executes them to get the outcome he wants.
Unless a plan requires violence, he prefers something more akin to foul play than outright violence.
In terms of affection, Khun is reserved with it.
Later on when his obsession grows he may show more in private, still wanting to hide his feelings.
He may praise you with a light-hearted tone for a test or pat your back with a smile, but things such as hugs or a kiss would be really rare.
He'd have to lose his mind for a moment before he drops his guard that far... but there will come a time he shows a more affectionate side.
During tests there's no doubt you give him heart attacks in confrontation.
Which is why he suggests you go along with his plans.
Khun seems like a yandere who guarantees victory by pulling a few strings.
Basically it's only a matter of time before Khun manages to get you two together.
He's patient and plays the waiting game, it's worth it if it's you.
Khun would also be one to isolate you if he was ever given the chance.
He wants to treat his darling like something precious.
To keep you happy and safe, he wouldn't mind isolating you somewhere even if it meant he wouldn't see you for a long time.
He's possessive as he would rather hide his darling away for no one to have instead of sharing.
Sure, you may be upset.
Deep down he knows by the end of his plan to keep you to himself you'll hate him...
But he promises it's to keep you happy and safe.
He comes to the conclusion isolation is best for you as The Tower is dangerous.
Khun may be worried you'll die or be stuck on a floor without him.
So maybe you don't have to go any further?
Overall, Khun is a manipulative and cunning yandere.
It's hard to make him obsess over you, but when he does he's dangerous.
He may not search for violence, but something about his gaze makes you think he's capable of it.
Khun gives off the vibe of someone who's friendly and wants to help his darling succeed...
When in reality, he is slowly manipulating them right where he wants them... where he can keep you all to himself, forever.
I don’t mean to spread my propaganda but from your interests and your critiques of JJK I think that you would like Hell’s Paradise!
I personally feel that it handled its themes of love, power, and loneliness much better! It’s unfortunate that it’s anime couldn’t convey that :,/
I have actually read Hell's Paradise! Although it has probably been a year or so since I reread it and I only skimmed a bit through the anime to see some of my favourite scenes. Unfortunately, they didn't quite manage to capture the natural horror of the island and the grotesqueness of the soshin and monshin. They ended up looking more goofy than intimidating. I was also a bit disappointed by the voice actor for the yang form of the Tensen. He sounded too much like just some dude. I like the opening though and otherwise the voice actors seemed well chosen.
It does have some themes similar to jjk, although I think it addresses it from a different angle and bases it on other philosophical and mythical backgrounds. Like for example love seems to be a lot more focused on the romantic aspect of it in Jigokuraku, whereas in jjk it is more platonic and about family and found relationships. I wouldn't say one is necessarily better than the other. Jigokuraku is just a bit more...concise? JJK lingers longer on certain side stories, whereas Jigokuraku has a very straight forward plot progression with not that much ambiguity about what is about to happen. It's shorter too, so that contributes to it. Both have things I like very much and some aspects one does better than the other.
I think the stories are most similar in regards to Rien (my fave, who would've thought) and Kenjaku. They are both a similar age, want to optimize their respective magic system and energy source for the sake of a person they care about and use dubious science and human experimentation for that sake, including abusing their "kids". Both are genderqueer in some way and I think the obsessive feelings they have for Jofuku/Tengen are also quite similar. Except in case of Kenjaku you also have the aspect of curiosity and entertainment thrown in with it. I like both of them though, can't say I prefer one over the other, they just highlight different things. Except I think we get to know Kenjaku more as a person than Rien. In his case all the emotional reasons for his crimes get dumped on us at the end and before that he mostly stays distant and calculating.
For any deeper analysis of the two series I'd have to reread Jigokuraku again 😅
A Thousand Heartbeats by Kiera Cass Book Review
ARC kindly provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
I thought I knew what I was getting myself into when I first requested A Thousand Heartbeats from NetGalley, but I was still subtly surprised by this book and how much I enjoyed it.
A Thousand Heartbeats follows Annika, a princess forced to marry a man she doesn't love for the sake of her country, Kadier. On the other side of the continent lie the Dahrainians, a nation of people living in ruins, awaiting the day they enact their revenge on the throne who drove them out centuries ago. Leading this charge is Kawan and the soldier who does all his dirty work, Lennox, who travels to Kadier to show how easy it is to infiltrate enemy borders. When Lennox brings back Princess Annika, they begin to realise they're more similar than they initially thought. As the two grow closer, so does Kawan's thirst for power and they find themselves together but also on opposing sides of a war years in the making.
Tumblr media
When I first started reading, I was surprised by how easily I was absorbed into the world of Kadier. The story immediately set off an almost fairytale-like vibe and the main characters were likeable with dual perspective POV that suited the story really well. Having previously read the first three books in The Selection, I could see just how much Kiera Cass's writing has grown and developed since her debut novel and series. There was a big effort made to create layers and backstory to both Lennox and Annika's characters, focusing on the weight of guilt, loss and grief and how it can weigh heavy on every aspect of life. I liked seeing how the characters bonded over this and found a joint connection through their hardships.
Tumblr media
I believe it would be hard to review this book without looking into the romance. It was obvious even from the blurb that this would be an enemies to lovers novel, so I knew from page one that Lennox and Annika would get together. My biggest concern though was whether this romance would be an insta-love sort or if it would be more of a slow burn. It's clear which one I would've preferred. The focus instead was more on developing their personalities, their lives and their characterisation, allowing for a richer romance where you just wanted the best for the both of them and all the side characters.
Tumblr media
That being said, I found Annika and Lennox both suited each other well but I wished their chemistry was more developed. Make no mistake, I thought it was good but the romance really happened in one big moment rather than short little bursts. I would've liked for the two to have had smaller moments to build up that romantic tension and chemistry instead of it all occurring at once and then all of a sudden calling each other "the love of their life." That just seemed a little quick if you ask me but then again maybe that's because I'm a little sceptical over the whole concept of true love and soulmates and don't consider myself to be a romantic. While the subtle pining was good, I felt like they should've been with each other a bit more before deciding in a heartbeat they would do anything for one another including giving up entire kingdoms for the pursuit of their love.
Tumblr media
 Romance aside, I also enjoyed the platonic and familial relationships with the characters. I loved Annika's relationship with her brother, Escalus and how they easily bantered on. I also liked Noemi's character although, I must admit, I was sceptical of her and thought her to be in on the deceit to usurp Annika's position and jeopardise Kadier. I thought that would create a thrilling plot twist which would've changed everything, hence why when the book took a more linear approach, the plot seemed quite predictable at times. I could tell who would betray who from a mile away and I wish the book didn't make it seem so obvious.
Tumblr media
The other thing of mention is with the antagonist, Kawan. To me he seemed very two-dimensional as a villain. He didn't have this air of danger to him and he acted more childish than as someone who evoked fear. I felt like he was too easy a villain and that Lennox and his friends could've easily taken him down. If his misdeeds (apart from that one hunting scene) were shown more and we were given glimpses into his scary nature, then I might've seen him as a more menacing figure. I thought the real villain in the story was Nickolas and that's because we saw some of the backstory with him and saw his deviousness, unlike Kawan who's motives weren't as described. That being said, I would've loved to see more from Nickolas and the supposed tension between Annika's and his family. It was mentioned and it obviously played a huge part in his sense of duty and subsequent characterisation, but I wished that avenue was explored more.
Tumblr media
All in all, this book is definitely one I'd recommend to any Kiera Cass fan or hopeless romantic, with well written main and side characters with layered backstories, and intriguing dual POV perspectives. The only downsides I found were with the characterisation of the villains/antagonists, the rapidness of the romance post the slow build, and the often predictable plot twists. That being said, I did enjoy reading this book and I managed to breeze through it fairly quickly. It reads in a way that is reminiscent of fairytales or classic fantasy so if you are a reader drawn to those types of stories, especially ones with happily ever afters, A Thousand Heartbeats is a book for you.
ACTUAL RATING: 3.8 STARS
tell me what's raisa's relationship with her love interests
hmm, i’d say her only true love interest is alicent as, she’s the one raisa has felt the strongest feelings for. nevertheless, i will give a little breakdown of her pairings.
lord torrence tarly:
torrence was raisa’s first husband. the two married quite young and she remained a ward of house tarly for sometime before they were deemed old enough to consummate their marriage. while she never actually fell for him romantically, the two were practically best friends. their friendship was like no other she would ever have with anyone else. unfortunately, torrence fell ill with a plague of sorts that killed him within days. the two were married for roughly ten years in technicality. raisa’s beloved sister, rhea would perish just two moths later, setting her down a dark path of revenge. trope: platonic soulmates
ser harwin strong:
raisa’s relationship with harwin was perhaps the most complicated of all. their marriage was a strategic one, calculated by raisa herself as a step closer to bringing down daemon targaryen. while no one was aware of the true reason behind their match, it was clear that they did not marry for love at first. if anything, it was “lust at first sight.” the two were physically attracted to each other and thus worked out in that sense. however, raisa’s pride and harwin’s long lasting affair with rhaenyra put a wedge between them. raisa would never beg for love but she did demand respect, something her husband failed to deliver one bastard at a time. although the two had their own child together, raisa couldn’t help but feel that harwin preferred his children with rhaenyra over their son, layn, seeing as he payed more attention to them. this caused her to grow resentful of her husband, even feeling ashamed of him at times. by the time harwin sets off with his father, he and raisa are not in a very good place. raisa isn’t happy with the idea of their family being separated. still, they are able to share a tender moment before he meets his horrific end. in spite of all of their quarrels, harwin’s death hits her hard and it takes her quite some time to overcome it. she also vocally blames rhaenyra for it. trope: toxic lovers.
QUEEN alicent hightower:
alicent is by far the person raisa develops the strongest feelings for in her life. the two share many similarities, similar ambitions, dutiful motives, etc. thus, it’s a no brainer when they get on well from the get go. raisa is a little bit older than alicent, yet the latter’s maturity is an equal match to hers. once raisa officially joins the queen’s court, she becomes one of her biggest supporters (even though she never officially chooses a side during the dance of dragons). i think raisa becomes what alicent once hoped to receive from rhaenyra; that other half to confide in above all others. she needed someone to take over that place and raisa gladly filled that void. they have a bit of a “slow burn” type of love story. the two don’t instantly get together. it takes them each some time to realize just what exactly they feel for one another and just how strong those feelings are. they never officially become a couple, nor am i sure if they will get to act much on their feelings about from supporting one another. still, theirs is a love like no other that burns brighter than any dragon fire that may try to take them down. trope: friends to lovers
World Building for Rosewood Prep and Maplehood Creek and its neighboring towns
Q: Does your world have an education system? If so what areas of study are the most valued? A: It does! In Maplehood Creek there's Rosewood prep, a k-12 school, and most of the colleges are affiliated with Rosewood. There's also Maplehood Creek Elementary which is K-5, Maplehood Creek Middle school which is 6-8, and Maplehood High for 9-12 for the regular folks. Holy Ann has three main schools same as Applewood. Although Holy Ann is more of a rural area so it doesn't have a whole lot of funding unlike its counterparts of Applewood and Rosewood Prep. As for areas of study business, sciences and the arts are the three most valued areas of study since most of the colleges in Maplehood are business-related. Rosewood prides itself on having its students be the smartest and most cultured.
2. Q: What are the most undervalued jobs in your world? Who works them? A: Anything to do with children or public cleaning. So as teachers, babysitters, childcare workers, garbage workers, and public health workers. For the teachers, it depends on where they're teaching. At Rosewood it's very hard to get out of the system once you're in you either die in it or become a part of it. And unfortunately, Rosewood people face mass discrimination in the outside world so it's hard to find housing and a job out there. Rosewood is the only safe haven for them. A lot of the teachers there are people who grew up in the system. The colleges prestigious as they may aren't any better. It's just a mere promotion with more scrutiny. A lot of teachers at the other schools follow passions rather than logic. Most of them want to teach to help the kids even though the pay isn't very well. As for the public cleaning services people, it's usually criminals who can't get a job anywhere else and those rare people that manage to get out of Rosewood's system.
3. Q: Which genre of music is most popular? A: In Maplehood Creek it's pop/ classic rock (At Rosewood rich kids claim that classical music is their favorite since they're just THAT pretentious but it's really alternative/punk that seems to be a favorite of all kids there). Applewood is alternative/indie music because they're try-hards at being popular. Holy Ann, it's country/folk music.
4. Q: How common is it to speak a language that's not your own? A: It depends! It's really common in the downtown area of Maplehood Creek since that's where all of the businesses are so there's a lot of diversity between the employees and the employers. I can honestly say that the only good thing Rosewood has going for them is that it's very diverse there too! from Rich kids traveling around speaking 5 languages since they were like 5 to all kinds of ethnicities going to school there. And starting in the 6th grade there you can choose up to 3 languages to learn there from its variety selection. Applewood only does it so they can claim to be fancy and educated but really it's just for show. And they usually speak up to two languages max. In Holy Ann, it's not very common but they don't judge mostly.
5. Q: How is public intimacy regarded? A: Same as anywhere else as long as ya know you're not fucking in public (or at least don't get caught) or butt ass naked with each other then it's fine and it's really a matter of preference from person to person. As for Rosewood, however, you can have relationships there but those come at very high stakes if made known to the public in that school. That's more ammo that others can take away and use against you and cause all kinds of problems and it's generally not safe. It's not frowned upon but it's better to keep romantic involvements on the down-low. On the more platonic/familial side, it's very common to see people hanging off, laying on one another, and cuddling with their groups. It's especially common to see mass cuddle puddles of the larger groups in the courtyards after school. Since just about everyone there is touch starved and it's not like the teachers can do anything about it since there are more kids than there are of them.
6. Q: Does age play a role in how much respect a person gets at first glance? Why? A: It does, unfortunately. A lot of school-age children are treated like shit. The adult authority (and the teachers and the majority of the older kids at Rosewood) view them as stupid, naive burdens because that's how adult authority is. Kids have it rough in the town of Maplehood Creek and Rosewood. There's a higher mortality rate for the younger children at Rosewood due to neglect and abuse. 12 is the coming of age at Rosewood. You're not a small child, you're on the brink of teenagehood and are more responsible for your actions. You get higher consequences. That's also when you'd be starting to fight the more prominent people and are in the running for trial at the school if you did something wrong. 12 is when you start fighting more to gain more respect and to be taken seriously. Teen years are rough but not as rough as when you were a kid. You still have little to no respect but it's certainly much more than a kid. Seniors at Rosewood are very well respected and looked up to. they survived 12 years of Rosewood's bullshit more or less and that's no small feat. So they definitely earned respect and in society 17-18 everyone gets more relaxed and given more respect.
7. Q: which meals or foods are considered classics or universally loved? A: so at Rosewood it varies. More times than not the school lunches were poisoned by someone or another. So either people brought their own lunches, the older wealthier students went out to eat or some kids went hungry. But sharing meals that other people bought with their own money or from home with their groups was common. For Tabby and her gang on one of their birthdays, one of her friends would bring in a loaf of banana bread and use it as cake and share it amongst her friends.
10. Q: How are criminals punished? A: it depends on what you did at Rosewood. There are honor and fight codes that serve as laws there and a few unwritten social rules. How the justice system at school works is that there is a trial of sorts. The teachers' pets of that grade the criminal was in would serve as judges and you'd have a jury of your peers of 11 people. You are given free rein to justify yourself and prove your innocence and if you were convincing enough the jury would vote either guilty or not guilty. Depending on the severity of the crime you'd either got locked up somewhere for the rest of the school day, got beat, or the death sentence to which you were sent to Horatio's way.
11. Q: What is the worst possible crime that a person could commit? A: treason to your group that you swore to defend and protect. whether that be ratting them out, abandoning them, or killing them yourself.
13. Q: what are the 3 most common past times? A: Studying/tutoring, fighting, or hanging out with friends.
14. Q: How are people like the police regarded by the public? A: Alright look Rosewood people have a problem with authority as it is especially the adults that abuse their power. There's also a lot of profiling against Rosewood kids simply by being Rosewood. So yeah there's a lot of tension, distrust, a dislike for police, or anything to do with the law.
15. Q: Are there any gender roles or stereotypes that exist? If so what are they? A: Not so much as gender roles it's pretty much a free for all there. But there's definitely a stereotype for Rosewood kids that makes it hard for them to get into colleges, apartments, and jobs. The stereotype is that all Rosewood people are mentally unstable violent criminals or at least criminals in the making. 16,17.18. Q: How are LGBTQ, disabled, and POC people treated? A: The one good thing about Rosewood is that it has a lot of diversity. Nobody really cares about who and what you are as long as you can fight and is loyal to your group. At best people will go 'oh cool' if you tell them your gender/sexuality and use the pronouns you wish to use. And if they're not sure they'll be polite and ask questions for better understanding. Of course, there are homo/trans/bi the whole 9 yards phobic teachers but just remember there is more of you than there is of them. No one may think that your identity is a big deal but your group will sure as hell defend you. There's a lot of accessibility at Rosewood. It's very friendly towards mobility aides. And just like any school, they have 501 plans for students who require them. However, surviving at school is a whole different story. That school is very fight survival of the fittest oriented. If you can't fight then you best hope to god that your group still finds you useful. Not to mention the punishments that the teachers dish out not giving a rats ass about disability. All I can say is that your best hope is you have a good group that will protect you and not sees you as dead weight. POC are treated the same as LGTBQ people. As long as you don't fuck over your group, are loyal to them, and can at least hold your own you're good to go and they will respect you and got your back. Of course, there are a few racist teachers and richer older white students but again there's more of you than there is of them.
20. Q: Do people w/ mental illness have access to resources that they might need (such as medications and therapists)? A: *laughs* fuck no. At least not in the school itself. I'm sure that some of them do back home but this school is full of mentally ill people and you think the authority there gives a rats ass about making them better? Sure they might have already been prescribed medication from home at school but that's a hit or miss if the school nurses give it to them or not. Of course, there is a therapist hired by the school but let's be honest here do you really think the kids would trust any adult authority there? yeah me neither. Let's just say I feel bad for the kids who live in the boarding section of the school.
22. Q: If any what are the stereotypes that exist for each age group? A: k-3 can't protect themselves (you'd be surprised what a group of feral kids can do) innocent (to an extent yes). 4-5 either wish they could go back to being with the k-3 kids or can't wait to be perceived as a big kid or "like the grown-ups" no in-between. 6-8 think they're bad ass thinks they know it all arrogant getting too big for their britches. 9-12 acting like old senior people. a full-fledged grown-up. Can't be trusted by younger kids. Too old for fun.
23. Q: What is more valued the arts or sciences? A: The sciences. Intelligence is the only thing that matters at Rosewood. 24. Q: What constitutes standard intelligence? A: being able to at least do double-digit multiplication. Having the average of a 4th-grade education.
25. Q: Think of the biggest accomplishments or events in your world's history. Is there a certain theme that carries through them all? A: Freedom, justice, and rebellion
32. Q: If anything what will absolutely not be tolerated in your world? A: treason to your group.
33. Q: What does a typical family look like? A: For a lot of people there they would consider their group as a family. it consists of 3 or more people. The lowest being 3 and the most at 25. It varies.
35. Q: What role does music play in your society? A: music is what brings people together at Rosewood. This only happens twice a year.
40. Q: If any what are the most famous pieces of literature or most famous authors? Why are they so well known? A: The poem of mourning Underneath the Willow tree. It's so culturally important to the people of rosewood. It was either written by Nicoli or Laura but no one can agree on which. It's so important because it's the core foundation for Rosewood's most sacred rituals.
43. Q: Is there anyone in your history that is regarded as truly evil? A: Yes. Amadeus Rosewood. The founder of Rosewood's home for wayward children. The man who started it all.
45. Q: What are some common first date activities? A: skipping class to go get ice cream, skipping class to go to one of the many hiding places in the school to hang out and maybe have a so-called picnic in the school.
47. Q: How common is it for people to go out w/ a group of friends or family vs. alone? A: In Mapplehood it's always best to go out with at least one other person especially at night in the main strip of town. It's common sense there.
49. Q: At what age is a person considered "old"? A: 18 by Rosewood standards you've been there for 12 years and that's a long time since very few people survive that long.
50. Q: At what point is it less offensive to be considered old by younger people? A: like in your 30s once you get out of Rosewood or become a teacher there.
52. Q: What makes it easy for a person to consider a house a home? A: The vast majority of Rosewood kids believe that home isn't a place where you live its a feeling you get with a group of people that you consider your family. A home is supposed to make you feel safe like you belong there and show you love and understanding and acceptance. So in short Home is where your family is and I mean your real family.
55. Q: How might the rich display their wealth? A: they flaunt it by getting away with so many rule-breaking good grades without doing all the work and being able to be alone for long periods of time without a group. Sometimes bride the teacher with wads of cash in front of you or brag about the lavish vacations that they took.
57. Q: What skills are important to have? A: survival and some sort of self-defense
61. Q: Is there any dedicated time for relaxation (like the weekend or a long holiday?) A: two days a year. Rosewood Preps spirit week (the Friday of the pep rally just so happens to be Rosewood's foundation day) and the end of the year picnic that's the day before graduation.
65. Q: Is there a traditional process for mourning loved ones who have passed? A: here's a post on how Rosewood honors their dead
66. Q: In general how much do people gesture when they speak? A:
68. Q: What does a person have to do to be considered a prodigy? A: There are only 3 ways that you get into Rosewood. Being problematic enough to be taken out of polite society, Being a genius or very rich. So just by being at Rosewood alone usually signifies being a prodigy of some sort.
Q: How closely do your OCS observe their cultures' traditional holidays? 1a) Is a holiday they celebrate regionally specific? 1b) What does that holiday represent and how is it celebrated? A: Tabby absolutely adores Rosewood culture. She lives for Rosewood's spirit week and the end of the school year picnic. Rosewood's spirit week represents the one day a year where no one had to be ashamed to be a Rosewood kid. Everyone bands together to shout out loud and proud and celebrate their Rosewood ways. The end of the year picnic represents the long reflection of how far everyone has come so far at Rosewood and everyone can kick back and relax and hang out with friends and enjoy the fruits of their labor until next year hits.
2. Q: Which OC's family or friends have an unusual holiday tradition? 2a) How did it begin? A: yes but it's sort of an epic and wholesome tradition. It began when Tabby was 13 and Autumn convinced her to sneak out of the house with the rest of the gang for New Years' Eve at a cool abandoned warehouse that she discovered over the summer. After a night of drinking, singing, and dancing around a fire and reflecting on how far they came all together and in one piece. It became their place and a tradition for the next 3 years.
3. Q: Do your OCs celebrate the Day of the Dead? 3a) Are they honoring anyone who recently departed? 3b) Who if anyone are they celebrating with? A: Not necessarily the Day of the Dead but if the anniversary of a death of a loved one at Rosewood happens they'll have a drink or two for them and recite the mourning poem Underneath the Willowtree to remember them by. Maybe have a conversation with their grave too while they're at it. If anyone of their remaining group is alive they'll celebrate with them or by themselves.
4. Q: Do your OCs have any prominent or character-building memories associated with a holiday? A: Yes. with the new years' tradition.
7: when was the last time you said something you regretted?
I regret saying I didn't want to make it a family meal for my birthday last year, like they usually are. That would have been the real chance I had to share a meal with my grandma before she passed, if I hadn't said that.
51: if you had the ability to change one aspect of yourself, what would it be?
Depends on what you mean by aspect, I guess. Physically, a higher metabolism, or general better shape would be nice. Personality wise, i would Love to just. Have Energy. tho i guess that might be more on the body side too. Anyway, that's assuming 'have wings' or 'able to shapeshift' aren't allowed :p
70: when it comes to affection/intimacy, do you prefer to stick to one person or are you more open about it?
I mean, romantically, it's one person, but platonically? I'd love to be open and free with my affection. I love my friends, and I want them to know that, whether that's through touch, words, or otherwise. Although now that I'm really thinking about it, I don't think I actually *am* that open about it... or at least not as much as I'd like to be.
Hm... I guess it's just anxiety about not knowing how others feel toward me and the like. Anyway, friends, if you're reading this know that I love you <3
79: who do you look to for guidance in times of need?
If I look to anyone, it'd have to be my eldest sibling. I probably have the closest relationship with them over anyone else in my life, even if we don't talk too often since they moved out
99: is there anything you would consider yourself an expert at?
Honestly, nothing that I can think of? Unless reading counts? I've never really tried to get any hard numbers but I probably read a couple million words a month. Otherwise, I've tried a lot of different hobbies, but nothing I'd call myself more than a novice at
Ask Me Things!
PS: Thanks for making the list! It's got a lot of great questions on it :)
A quick lesson on ships
Tumblr media
Because why not??😌
No but seriously, bare with me, I'm trying to answer your questions. Sit if you have to. Hehe
Uban Dictionary defines shipping as this:
A term used to describe fan fictions that take previously created characters and put them as a pair. It usually refers to romantic relationships, but it can refer platonic [sic] ones as well. (Just think of “shipping” as short for “relationSHIP”.) 9 Apr 2015
Ships can be platonic or romantic or both.
There's fictional ships and non fictional ships too. You ship two people you want to be in a relationship or who already are in a relationship or who you suspect to be in a relationship- perhaps due to queer baiting, ship baiting, romance baiting etc.
In the shipping fandom, there are two sects of people. Those who are Proships those who are Antiships- antis are ironically considered part of the shipping community because for some reason they are always in shippers business💀
Antishippers are those who oppose a particular ship or shipping in general (more on that later.)
Proshippers are well- Pro ships.
Pro-Ship
A term mostly used in fandoms, but can stretch outside of this to include original characters. The core belief is that shipping two fictional characters, no matter if they are family, share ages gaps, considered to be unhealthy, or show blatant signs of being abusive or other generally unsavory behaviours, are valid in a fictional setting.
Pro-Shippers or "anti-antis" are also known as "rainbow meaties" and will use 🌈 + 🍖 emojis together often in their bio on twitter or other social media platforms- usually within fictional settings.
These shippers reinforce the idea fiction is separate from reality and shouldn't be confused with the other.
‘Anti’ is short for ‘anti-shipper’ or ‘anti-[ship]’.
Tumblr media
Kindly read through this thread to get the gist of it.
Tumblr media
Shipping non-fictional individuals is a subset of Proshipping, in my opinion, known also as alternative shipping- as far as my knowledge on it goes.
As with fictional shipping, alt ships have their antis too. People who disagree with shipping real couples in a romantic way for whatever arbitrary moral reasons they have and who feel entitled to go out of their way to correct, stop, police and punish such shippers.
Then there are those who although may be pro real people shipping think they have the right to tell others how they should ship and to what extent they can ship.
Others too prefer to ship real people platonically because they view romantic shipping of real people as problematic.
So to answer your question on Anon's post- there is no such thing as a Proshipper who is also Anti shipping. Thats oxymoronic. Perhaps they might be platonic shippers who are anti romantic ships but not necessarily romantic shippers themselves.
I don't think there's anything wrong with preferring to ship platonically. It is when they assume by virtue of their false sense of moderacy that they are better than others that shit starts to get funny.
Those shippers are delusionally confused beings with a supremacist imperialist complex rooted in ignorance and absurdities.
I usually walk by those quietly. keep it pushing. Gotta mind my business somehow even though most times I just want to pull their hair and bite them and shit😭
I try to keep it classy.
Lord knows I try.
You are either pro ship or anti ship. There's no in between. Those shippers who are shippers but claim they are not are nothing but fraudulent, fake us, simps trying to bamboozle their way through life- pardon my Swahili.
There are a lot of anti shippers moonlighting as shippers in this fandom. It's fascinating.
Personally I think those people are either confused or their desires to appeal to other Anti shippers must have morphed their brains into ass dick hybrids.
Anti shippers in general are notorious gatekeepers, gaslighters, bigots, high key sanctimonious and often have a cis white westernized sense of morality and ethics through which they fliter others and expect everyone and everything to conform to.
They impose their values on others, their ethics on others, resort to manipulation, policing, intimidation and bullying to impose their will etc.
Within shipping, there are those who are Proshipping yet anti certain ships. Most Tuktukkers are anti Jikook. And assume anyone who isn't a tuktukker is equally anti Tae Kook and so go ahead and exhibit anti behaviours towards them.
Think of such groups of shippers as Proshippers with a preference for particular ships if you will.
There are Pro shippers who also feel some kind of way about Shipping real life people or alt shipping.
Here's further resource to help you understand what proshipping is
Tumblr media
If you are intolerant with other shippers choice of ships or style of shipping and you traumatize them for it that's Anti shipping. Especially if you feel entitled and justified to traumatize others because you take a higher moral status over them.
You can be proship and not like how certain people, how they go about
Simply walk away, click off, mind your business. You are not the only adult in these streets and leave people to do what interests them.
I think for as long as I can remember, I've always been a proshipper and I ship both platonically and romantically, fictionally and alternatively💀
Some themes in fiction are a hard limit for me such as the R word, pedophilia, incest, child abuse- I just can never find the entertainment in those topics and will struggle through such themes.
But others believe it's just FICTION and those fictional characters aren't really dealing with the imaginary struggles we read about.
Yall do you sis.
I don't really know why people make a big deal of it or try to demonize the concept of shipping as if it were something strange or mysterious- just keep your moral values to yourself. I am not your mother's daughter. we were not raised in the same households.
Then again I think it all depends on the different cultures and social backgrounds we all come from and how entitled, supremacist or imperialist they are.
For Yoonmin, I shipped them romantically but didn't think they were a real couple at all. I just romanticized their interactions and found humor in it. At the back of my head I was expecting them each to one day find husbands or wives and go their merry ways and even harbored the thought they each could very much be in serious romantic relationships with others.
In similar ways, I shipped Minimoni and Vmin.
You can ship a pair romantically and not think at all that they are actually REAL.
A lot of jokers ship Jikook romantically and don't assume they are real. Just as a lot of people shipped say Elena and Stefan romantically even though Paul was married.
Some shipped Elena and Damon too due to their unscreen chemistry and even felt they could be a thing- that was before later it was revealed they had started dating in real life. Even that I was holding on to my Bonnie x Damon fantasies because Bonnie was my bias and I shipped her with everyone romantically- of course I didn't expect any of those ships to manifest into something because it was the character I was shipping not Kat herself. To this day I still love her onscreen chemistry and friendship with Damon and don't see how people could wish for it to be more than that😭
It was beautiful as is. Not everything should climax into sexual intercourse.
But if I felt at some point any of her ships had crossed into alternative ships I would have jumped on those and supported it whole heartedly.
If you assume a pair are a real couple and dating in real life that's alt shipping- a lot of alt shippers suspect a ship is real and that's why they ship them.
There is no such thing as platonic alt shipping.
And for me personally, because I believe Jikook are a real couple and have made that cross over I don't ship any of that pair romantically with other members anymore.
It's bizzare to me to ship someone I know has a partner romantically with anybody else- I make exceptions for Vmin of course💀
Tumblr media
I know JK is side eyeing me but I don't care.
I want Tae to be happy too😭😭😭
Tae just wants his bestfriend and soulmate😭
It's too much😭😭😭😭😭😭
He stays shooting his shots🤣
Jimin Harem is real🤭
I must admit, I catch myself slipping on Vmin and Minimoni every now and then- old habits die hard and they don't make it easy 😫
But that don't mean I think Vmin is dating. THAT WOULD BE WILD.
Tumblr media
Summary
Proshippers can be Platonic or Romantic shippers and you can ship a pair romantically and not assume they are real at all.
Anti shippers are just assholes trying to beat their values down people's throats.
Alt shippers don't ship their OTP with other players romantically.
I don't know what you mean by Jinkooker...
Do you ship Jinkook romantically or think they are real?? Sis...
Maybe you just ship them platonically or casually.
I ship all the ships platonically.
Especially all Jimin"s Tae's ships. I'd let my self flirt with the idea of romance every now and then.
JK's ships don't make sense to me as ships.
As nonplatonic ships I mean.
I'm fascinated each time I see a hardcore JK x any member ship besides Jikook swearing up and down JK is screwing Namjoon🤣🤣
I hope this helps??
Bokuto Relationship Headcanons:
A/N: I suck at posting most of the time, so have this sorry excuse that I made because I felt bad. School starts again soon for me as well, so I don't imagine that'll help my posting habits very much,,
Tumblr media
_____________________________________________
At first, Bokuto didn't realize that he had romantic feelings for you. He thought he just had a platonic need to keep you safe and whatnot
He realized that he had a crush on you when you were talking to another guy and he got jealous
While I don't see him as the jealous type, he is slightly overprotective at times
It's always out of love, though
Speaking of love, he loves you more than anything
His family probably likes you a lot as well because of how happy you make him
I feel like he's a cuddler
Something about it just feels so safe to him, plus he likes the feeling of having you in his arms
He usually prefers to be the big spoon, but doesn't mind if you want to instead
Shower with him. Wash his hair. He absolutely adores showering together, and it makes him feel really safe
He also likes to help you wash yourself as well, but only if you're okay with it
To go along with that in a way, if you're ever uncomfortable doing something, he would never make you do it
He honestly just wants you to be happy, or at least to see you smile. It doesn't matter if it's because of him or not
If you're not someone who expresses emotion outwardly, I feel like he would be good at inferring how you feel. This is mainly because Akaashi is pretty much the same way
He loves your laugh, too. He doesn't care if you think it's ugly or not, because to him it's one of the best sounds in the world
Akaashi likes you a lot, too, and appreciates when you help him get Bokuto out of his emo modes
When Bokuto goes into emo mode around the team, they usually call you over if you're near them so that you can take care of it since he listens to you better
If you aren't near, they'll try and have someone else take care of it. If that doesn't work, you'll be getting a phone call from one of the team members
Bokuto honestly really enjoys having you with him when he works out
I feel like he would be the type of boyfriend that would like you to sit on his back when he's doing push ups and whatnot
If you think that you're too heavy or something along those lines when he asks you, he'll promise you that you aren't
If you're still too nervous to do that he'll let you go and do your thing, but always promises that he'll get strong enough to the point where it won't bother him (and where you hopefully won't be insecure about things like that, although he makes it hard to be insecure around him with all of the praise he gives you)
If you're more on the chubbier side, I personally headcanon that he prefers potential partners that have more chub, but overall doesn't really care about body type
He strikes me as someone who likes dogs and children
That being said, if any of those correlate with you he'll be over the moon
You and Kuroo like to mess around with him, just to see his reaction
Speaking of Kuroo, you, him, and Bokuto would get together at random times in the night just to mess around
Akaashi and Kenma sometimes join in, but don't really do much
Overall, Bokuto would be a very loving partner who genuinely wants you to be happy and succeed in life. Would happily spend his life with you if you wanted, as well :)
omg my lovely badass friend, I would love to request some angsty alina starkov x reader content if you're up for it!
One-Sided
Tumblr media
summary: being the one to look after the first sun summoner in history might seemed like something great at first , until you end up falling for her while she's already in love with someone else
pairings: alina starkov x reader
warnings: angst, heartbreak, unrequited love ( or is it? ) and no malina because I refuse to acknowledge it exists outside of ruin and rising
a/n: I got so excited for this request because I had multiple ideas for alina fics since I never used them for my rewrite and this is one of those ideas so thank you sm for requesting <3!
To you, Alina Starkov was the most beautiful person you have ever met both inside and out.
The day she arrived at the Little Palace, General Kirigan put her under your care. You and your friend Genya were in charge of getting her ready for events and instructing her towards her schedules. You couldn't say you were that surprised Kirigan trusted you enough to be the person to follow the sun summoner wherever she went. You were one of his best Grisha and weren't sent into mission that often, he preferred to keep you by his side when you could do whatever he told you to do.
When you first met Alina, though you instantly thought she was gorgeous, you never thought the two of you would build a strong friendship bond over her first few months in the Little Palace. Although it wasn't only a platonic relationship on your end. It was so much more.
But Alina didn't see it that way. She already had her eyes on someone else.
While you were the person sneaking into her bedroom almost every night when neither of you could sleep and you ended up talking about your pasts or even gossiping about things happening in the royal family or between other Grisha, the person who she was actually attracted to was General Kirigan.
You weren't completely oblivious to the lingering looks the General would give her, those which she returned with a shy smile, but at the beginning you chose to ignore it. You were doing a very good job at it until Zoya pointed it out during dinner once.
From then on you haven't been able to get that conversation out of your head for weeks. Not because of Zoya's suggestion the two of you hook up because frankly, it's nothing you two haven't done before but the idea of Alina and Kirigan together made you sick to you stomach.
There were times you didn't even have time to think about it which were the best moments of your day. Like now, when you were wandering the top floor of the Little Palace to get Alina ready for the annual Winter Fete. You were quick to halt in your movements when Alina coming out of General Kirigan's room caught your eye. The state she was in made your blood run cold and you instantly felt your heart drop to the pit of your stomach.
Her face was visibly flushed, there was a blissed out smile on her face and her lips were swollen. 𝘖𝘩.
"Y/N." Alina's eyes widened at the sight of you and her voice came out nervous but you barely noticed and mainly tried to ignore the sound of your heart breaking and the sting of tears you felt in your eyes.
"Just wanted to give you the clothes for tonight." you cleared your throat handing her the black kefta covered with a velvet sheet, ( 𝘩𝘪𝘴 color ) not giving her a chance to say anything as you rushed to get out of the conversation, "Genya will be here soon but I have somewhere to be. See you tonight."
You didn't leave Alina any room to argue as you rushed towards the stairs. 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘡𝘰𝘺𝘢'𝘴 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳.
Moonlight
Draco x Reader One-Shot
Summary: This is based off the song ‘Moonlight’ by Ariana Grande. During the bad times of War, not everything has to be so black-and-white. Both Y/N and Draco know it just too well.
Composing yourself had been more than a hard thing to ask for lately.
The Death Eater had finally taken Hogwarts under their control; famous Harry Potter, who was allegedly supposed to play a hero, disappeared in the depth of the unknown; the plan of escaping the school turned out to be an utter failure since the Dementors encircled and blocked every passage of absconding, escalating the disappointment over students.
Yet you hadn't thought of the plan B as an alternative solution, but you were sure, even if you managed to find one, it might take a few more months to figure things out. And you had to admit that increasing anxiety about your parents made you cry yourself to sleep at night. Despite your insistent pleads of the letters to contact you, you hadn't received any response or other sign of life ever since over two months of a constant worry.
And yet, it wasn't the worst part.
The Carrows, who unwarrantedly preferred to call themselves professors Carrows from now on, had decided to introduce their new methods of teaching everyone. And punishing for any triviality.
Once, for example, in Charms class -- which was the worst nightmare of a week -- you had been asked to stand up in front of the class and demonstrate a Crucio curse on the First Year who happened to accidentally bump into Alecto in the corridor. Obviously, you hadn't obeyed an imposed task to which Carrows only reacted with unrestrained rage. Instead of punishing the eleven-year-old boy, the lesson had turned out to be your disciplining session of torture for not being submissive enough. Although the feat had brought you more renown later on, which served to make Carrows more flustered, you still couldn't get out of the Hospital Wing for whole three days.
All of that also led your Occulumency to suffer, which was doubling the struggle. There was for sure no doubt it was an important skill to have, not only to create a mental barrier protecting yourself from uninvited intruders; but also preventing others' thoughts from leaking into your head. It was already enough of bearing the non-stopping suspense in the air. So, the idea of accumulating more emotions on your account would probably navigate to an outburst.
One thing, however, surprised you. You had found out that people who outwardly seemed to have quite a reputation of cruel tossers were actually more decent and human than you could think. In particular, certain Draco Malfoy, who had been selected as a Head Boy in terms of this year.
Wandering around the school and doing the night patrols, he had happened to find you sitting hunched over, face buried in your knees, and sobbing brokenly at the fate the Wizarding World was faced to deal with. He had flumped next to you, without question, silently accompanying and comforting you in moments of solitude.
Two other times of your encounter had been in the library: spotting you among the crowd of students, he would come over and take a nearby place. You didn't know whether it was a matter of pride or disposition, but he had never spoken up, which you, in fact, didn't mind. At first, you had been a little bit dubious about his sudden influx of approachability. However, as to mute your suspicions down, you tried not pondering about it too much.
Funny, how the real nature of the boy who you had known for a nonchalant sneer and teasing remarks, could suddenly become so interesting and mysterious.
It was on a Thursday late that you were strolling up to The Astronomy Tower to see the Thestrals soaring in the air. Normally, it was around the time when you would be putting yourself to the bed, but too many thoughts were buzzing in your mind, and you knew it wouldn't give you much space to sleep anyways. The only optimum, instead of staring aimlessly at the ceiling and flipping from one to the other side of the mattress, was busying yourself with something else. The lack of sleep was due to nothing else than today's lesson with Carrows. They had thought up an idea of having some practice with a Confrigo spell which, rather unfortunately, was presented on a living phantom. As always, a whole hour of torments was disastrous, to say at least, and even after classes, you couldn't shake off the echo of troubled screams and beggings, which carried over the petrified room of students. That's why you were thinking you could swallow your emotions down, quietly and undisturbedly, in the only place you could wish for some private space. Besides, it was the only spot resembling the old Hogwarts you had known from the previous years, showing the calming extent of green grounds.
However to your surprise, when you pushed the door to The Astronomy Tower, noiselessly, you could notice a silhouette of a man already standing at the barrier, which made you momentarily flabbergasted suddenly considering an option of running upon a teacher. To save yourself from much too unwanted detention, you decided to change your track, rushing straight into your dormitory. But almost as you succeeded doing so, in the last moment, a person shifted in their place and spoke up before you had room to move.
"Pretty late for a casual stroll, huh?" At once, a feeling of dread ebbed away, and you exhaled deeply air you didn't know you were holding as you recognized none other than Draco with his back turned towards you. His tone was as usually taunting, but something in a timbre of sadness was hitched to it as well. "Shouldn't be sneaking out of the room on the patroling hours, you know? I'm the least of who you could come upon today."
Your dignity told you to say something in order to defend your harmless saunter to calm down your nerves, which benefited only your mental account. However, he made a point -- you could have been caught not only by some random teacher but Currows themselves who, you were inexorably aware, wouldn't let a chance of dehumanizing others slip away. And besides, you were a little too dumbstruck to speak, realizing it must be the first time Draco fucking prince Malfoy had uttered more than a word to you. What was a coincidence of meeting up with him just on the same day as you had been wondering about your atypical relationship formed within this school year?
Before your contemplation ended, Draco's voice carried on with a conversation, echoing off the walls. "Care to join? Seeing as you're already here."
Frowning to yourself at how surreal the situation can become, you stepped off the stairs with no more hesitation. You truly wouldn't have suspected the things would turn out that way -- embracing his Head Boy position, you thought he would send you off back to the Hufflepuff Tower with his dismissive attitude as it usually was. Inviting you over to company him was a top cherry you hadn't even considered. Truthfully, it made you feel a little thrilled to accept this offer.
As you walked over to him, his facial features became much sharper than from afar. Now, as you looked at him closely, you could define the contours of his face were even more angelic yet still masculine than in daily light. The platonic hair glinted accordingly to the moon above; his blue eyes were focused on a black void in the sky, clearly pondering more than concentrating on a particular object; a mouth pursed into a line, not a mocking expression he was usually carrying himself with. Eyeing him like that and still not being capable of deciphering him suggested he must be someone between a completely unemotional git or an excellent master of Occulumency. You preferred to presume the second one.
Quickly, realizing you were staring, you turned your head to behold a collection of vivid stars hovering above your head. You knew it was only in the Wizarding World that sky flickered so brightly -- your father was a muggle, and a whole family dwelled among a non-magical society, which you didn't mind at all. And that's why you were able to recognize... differences existing between those two worlds.
"Why are you here?" you asked curiously, not quite capable of restraining yourself from doing so. You were standing close enough to him to smell his sandalwood cologne.
He gave you a perfunctory smile, and although it was a three-second gesture, it somehow made you lighter on the chest to know he was convenient with a conversation. "Needed someplace to think," he explained, not darting his eyes away from where he was looking. He took a pause there. "You?"
"The same reason," you answered simply, shrugging. "My roommates can be too loud sometimes, and I needed some silence to sort out...stuff."
Draco nodded in understanding, not interfering any further into the topic. Brushing your hair habitually with fingers, you scolded yourself for coming up here in the first place. How could you act so irresponsibly to think you could smoothly break a regulations' rule and without anyone finding out? Although you were desperate to hide it, the presence of Draco made you inexplicably nervous, and even though you tried to gulp it down, your stomach was churning when he was around. Time proved his intentions weren't bad after all, and you confronted with the truth ever since he first happened to find you at the moment of your meltdown in the corridor, clutching to him as if he was your sanity. But that didn't dispel your doubts about him becoming a fully active Death Eater, who praised with a Dark Mark on the left forearm like with a reward for some kind of acrobatic stunt.
Your gaze swept briefly over the rolled-up sleeves of his snow-white shirt only to assure yourself the mark didn't disappear off his arm with some help of the power of your imagination. Yet it was still there -- as always, tinted coal-black, scary and blood-curdling every time you looked at it.
That evidently didn't escape Draco's notice who, as though reading your mind, started. "You know, I didn't want this." He didn't have to show what he meant by saying so because you instantly figured it out. You looked up at him, and almost invisibly, his skin pale as it already was, changed even to the whiter shade. "He has bait on me. All of this: assassinating Dumbledore; obeying his will -- it's not because I want that."
The sudden shock welled up at these words, and you gawked at him stupidly, not quite able to process what he had just told you. Swallowing with some difficulty, you coerced yourself to a mutter. "Why... why are you telling me this?"
For the first time this night, his steely stare landed at you, scanning your face to detect signs of emotion. You attempted to conceal it, but he could see you were thunderstruck by his unexpected confession. Without preamble, he smiled slightly at you. "I thought you ought to know."
Ignoring the clenching in your chest, you did your best to not break eye contact with Draco when his eyes were intently locked on yours now. You could swear, something on the verge of interest and sympathy flickered in them for a second. "Why?"
"Because you're the only person who doesn't freak out when I'm around," he explained carefully. "Every time I go to the library or appear in any other public place, you're the only one who doesn't glare."
He closed his eyes, clearly relived with the fact he could confide the worries he had been carrying for a long time. Breathing out through the nose and his lips flinching a little, his head spun again to the blank of the sky.
It was a depressing sight to see him in such dejection, and the images of him being cast aside by his former group of friends with who he had been laughing merely a year ago rolled into your head, try as might to suppress it. You could only imagine what it must feel like to be rejected by everyone around; to play the main role in something you never wished to participate in.
For a moment, you thought he was going to continue because he grunted enigmatically, but the silence remained. Unable to restrain the urge to offer physical comfort, you affectionately grabbed his palm, squeezing it in the reassurance that you were there for him. He didn't attempt to break himself out of the grip, which presumably was a good indication.
"I believe you," you stated, for some reason, satisfied with the fact you're the one to comfort him. "You are a good person, Draco."
This time, it was he who clasped your hand, and he glimpsed at you once more, towering over you with his long legs. "No. In the past, things happened, and to say, I'm not proud of them. Jeering, mocking, insulting -- that wasn't fa-."
"Past is a past, Draco," you cut him off, knowing where it all was leading, and you wanted to bring it to an abrupt end. It was the least adequate moment for apologies. "You can't fix it. Good that you understand your mistakes by now."
He hummed in comprehension, smiling, and his grasp tightened around your palm as if you were about to run off from him, which he couldn't be more wrong about. Admitting to yourself, you loved his smile -- though it was seldom, it much differed from a smirk you were accustomed to at that point -- and you secretly hoped he could do it more often. You also loved that even if he didn't talk much, he was very successful in lifting you up.
Therefore, there you were: standing arm-to-arm with your ex-bully who you had happened to run across; observing the moon in its full exposure; holding hands in reassurance. Both of you clearly enjoyed this gratifying moment and were lingering towards it not to end.
"Thank you," Draco finally choked out. "Thank you for...everything."
Ultimately, smashing the wall of uncertainty down, he wrapped his arms around your neck, hunching a little to adjust to your height, and buried his face in the crook of your neck. At first, your body stiffened at the sudden touch and a skip of the boundary, but as not to agitate him, you adapted yourself soon enough by reciprocating the hug. You started to rub the slow, steady circles on his back, and little by little, he began stroking your hair, softly grazing your scalp.
How long you stood clinging to each other like this, you didn't know. Hearing Draco sigh quietly, feel the rise and fall of it against your hands. Your heart sunk when you heard him breathe out, and you prepared yourself for him to mix out of the embrace because of sudden consciousness he was cuddling with a half-blood Hufflepuff he had been mocking for half of a decade ('I should get going'; 'I didn't mean what I said earlier; 'leave me be, Y/S'). But none of this happened, and he was only murmuring into your ear.
"I presume I should escort you to the dormitory. I could tell you were the whole time with me so no one would get any suspicion if we run into...anyone," he offered, yet you felt him almost grimacing at the thought of ending a moment you were two having.
"Mhm..." you agreed with no more opposition. "But let's give it one more minute."
The Heart Of A King - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Relationship: Caspian X Susan, Caspian X Reader, Platonic!Susan and Platonic!Reader
Warnings: 18+, smut (I’ll try the best I can), historical inaccuracy, misogyny and belief of 16th century, mention of death and sex, arranged marriage, /!\ Not proof read and non-english speaker writter /!\
Summary: There are opportunities in life that you have to take but you were different tough. Since you were born you always had things given to you on a silver plate. Yet you decided to create your own opportunities the day you chose to follow your father in all of his travels. It was no surprise for your parent when you left them no choice but to take you with them to the court of Cair Paravel, heart of your homeland. Even in your wildest dream you would have never thought of what destiny had in store for you when you took that opportunity and stepped in the castle of King Caspian and Queen Susan.
Words: 3,027
Author’s Note: Narnia (and the islands as well as the surrounding countries) is located in the Atlantic sea next to the strait of Gibraltar. It’s a mix between Southern Spain in terms of architecture and temperature, UK/France in terms of landscape and of course what you can see in the movies and be described in the books.
Two days of sea then just as much by carriage to reach the most magnificent palace of Narnia. No need to say it was all worth it. Nothing could compare to the beauty of Cair Paravel, its garden viewing the ocean, its impeccable white walls made of marble and the stained glasses that was colouring the inside of the castle in various colours. Last time you had been within the walls of this palace you were a child no older than five and yet it felt like yesterday. Nothing was as breath-taking as the home of the kings of Narnia, not even your father’s castle at Narrowhaven which was praised for its uniqueness and atypic beauty. Anyone who would be away from their home would feel homesick quickly but not you, you had left Narrowhaven when you were nine and only came back last year.
 Your father was the Grand Ambassador of King Caspian; he had started his duty under the rule of the king’s father and had sworn loyalty to his son. Thanks to his duty to the crown he had met your mother, he had married her and sired you, their one and only child. They had never needed more; you were everything they wanted and one day you would inherit the land and titles hold by your father. You were already marchioness of Narrowhaven however one day you would become the Duchess of the Lone Islands, courtesy of King Caspian IX. Not a lot of noble houses could brag about the fact that the king himself had gave them the right of female peerage. Just a few of you – daughters of high-ranking nobles – could take on the titles even with a male heir in the line of succession at the condition of the girl being born first. Not even the royal family had that right. Not that it made you feel particularly lucky, it was nice to think the castle you had grew up in would stay in your family forever even after marriage.
 The carriage stops right in front of the palace entrance. A flight of stairs leads to wooden graved doors decorated with gold and silver. You remembered well the tree with two trunks engraved on the doors after an old legend of Narnia but your child mind must have deceived you as you thought the doors were so big that giants must have lived here before. Turns out the door were huge, but not that much. They were twice the size of a grow man. Behind you servants were taking your personal items in order to put them where you’ll be leaving from now on.
 “You have the right to breath you know,” your father took your arm and patted gently your hand. “It’s not the first king you meet.”
 “There is a huge difference between a foreign king and the one for whom your father is working.”
 “Don’t worry Y/N, King Caspian is gentle and patient man. He knows you had never done this before that’s why Lady Prunaprismia will stay with you for a month then you will need no one’s help,” encouraged your mother.
 She knew you by heart. Every look, every breath and every head tilting had a significance your mother had no difficulties to understand. So when she saw you biting your lower lip, she understood how unsure of her statement you were. She had no doubt you would do well on your job. There were a few prized places at court that a woman of your status could hope to have: lady-in-waiting to the women of the royal family or governess to the king’s children. Those were official jobs but there was one every noble woman craved to have: mistress to the king. You had seen how this works and from one country to another, things weren’t that different. all hoped to dethrone the queen, thinking the king who loved them enough to put an alliance forged for years into the dirt for the beauty of their smile or whatever prowess they were doing in the royal bed. Foolish girls with foolish dreams.
 You were content with the place your mother had found you. What better way to learn the way of life than to help one grow? Prince Rilian wasn’t the son of Queen Susan yet she was the one who appointed you governess of the sole heir of the kingdom. This was thanks to your mother, the former governess of the queen. She had raised the Queen before she became your mother and by the way she was speaking of the queen you knew she was like a daughter to her although no one could take your place in her heart.
 You finally arrived in the throne room. The glass roof and the stained glasses gave the place an ethereal look worth of kings and queens. At the end of the room was standing four thrones of marble in front of a golden stained glass. You knew only three of them were occupied because the two were for the king and his queen, one was for the crown prince and the last throne was for the royal advisor – who had been executed last year for treason. The royal couple was waiting, stoically in their throne. You had no chance to look at them as you kneeled in front of your king and your queen before your father did, he had the privilege to stand in front of the king he had seen grow up.
 “His Grace Y/F/N, Duke of the Lone Islands, his wife Y/M/N, Duchess of the Lone Islands and their daughter the Lady Y/N,” announced a man on your right. “Welcome to the court of His Majesty King Caspian X and Her Majesty Queen Susan.”
 “Thank you Trumpkin but I know Lord Y/F/N for long enough to need no introduction. Please stand up my ladies there is no need for that between us.”
 You stood up and saw for the first time the king with your own eyes. You had heard stories about how handsome of a man he was and he truly was but more than that he had this glimmer in his eyes, something close to melancholia although well hidden behind a dazzling smile. You could lose yourself in his eyes. It was the voice of your mother that made you realised you were staring at the king for far too long. The queen had walk to your mother and the both of them exchanged some words before they turned to you. You bowed before the queen who wasn’t older than you.
 “I heard so much about you,” said Susan taking your hands in hers. Her smile was infectious and bright, contrary to her husband she was glowing with joy. “I’m sure will become good friends you and I.”
 “I hope so Your Majesty,” you really hoped to be in the queen’s good grace.
 “Last time I saw you, you were unable to keep yourself still.”
 “You remember Your Majesty?” asked your father. You had been told that the King and you had met when you were younger but you had no memories of such event. “Well, I must say Y/N has changed since.”
 “I can only agree with you.”
 You smiled at your father; you knew what he meant by this statement. You had become less impatient, more careful of your words and most importantly you were smart, street smart. You had helped him many times and he liked to think he was the reason why you were doing so good around people. But you were lacking the subtility to leave at court for a long time, which was a good thing when you were traveling around the globe with your father, staying at court for short periods but now you were to live at Cair Paravel for as long as the king would want you around, and unbeknown to you the king was thinking about the length of your stay.
 A door opened at your right and a small child ran pass you to be catch by the king. The prince you were supposed to take care of and who look exactly like his father if it wasn’t for his light baby blue eyes that was surely from his mother’s side. The young prince laughed in his father’s arms; he tried to push away from his face from the beard his father bore and that was probably irritating his soft and sensitive skin. The prince was five years old – for what you’ve been told – but he was taller the average five years-old, something he must have got from his father. The woman with him was his great-aunt, the Lady Prunaprismia, wife of King Caspian’s former advisor and his aunt by marriage. Although he holds no grudge against the woman for her husband’s betrayal, she had been asked to leave court forever. The King was a kind man but he wasn’t a very forgiving one. Not when it concerned his father and by extension his mother.
 “Rilian, this is Lady Y/N, she’s going to take care of you once aunt Prunaprismia will be gone,” informed Caspian. He put the child back on his feet and Rilian bowed before you. You imitated the prince, a huge smile on your face, won over by the child sweetness. The King kneeled next to his son and looked at him in the eyes. “I want you to behave with Lady Y/N like you’ll do with your aunt. Be nice, can you do that for me?”
 The prince energetically nodded widening your smile even more. King Caspian planted a kiss on his forehead. You saw him saying something to his son but couldn’t quite hear what it was. The queen had reached a hand for the prince to take but he preferred to stay with his current governess. The hurt in Queen Susan’s eyes was left unnoticed by you. it was common knowledge that, after five years of marriage, the queen hadn’t been pregnant once. Some rumours said she was barren, others that she had been made queen for very political reasons – which was the case for most queens though – and others that the king was never sharing her bed, still mourning his first wife, the one that gave him his heir, the one he had been in love with. And, after all, with an heir alive did he truly needs another child if he doesn’t love his current queen?
 Rilian and Prunaprismia left the group alone after the lady gave you a meeting point for the next day. Right after your mother and you were taken to your quarters while your father staid with the King to discuss important matter. It took you fifteen to arrive there. There were four separate rooms: two bedrooms, one for your parents and one for you, both at the opposite from one another and with separate entrance. A common room with a fire place, chairs, shelves filled with books and it was the room you entered first. Next to it there was a dining room big enough to fit ten people around the table and was only furnished with a sideboard to contain plates, forks, knives and the usual.
 Your room had a view of the garden and the sea, although you had been assured it would be temporary – you were supposed to get the one next to the prince’s – it was provided with all the luxuries you could think of. The decoration was elegant and refined, suiting a woman of your age and status. You had everything you could need, even your ladies-in-waiting you were sure had stayed at Narrowhaven. Those ladies were from smaller houses, ranks below your high-birth but they were your closest friends. Your only friends for that matter. Marwen, Cora and Lyria had been in your life since you were four, they had been your friends before being at your family’s service. They had travelled the world with you and your father, not once had they complained. They were the most loyal people you knew. After your father that is. Just seeing them made you happy and ready to face whatever the future had in store for you.
 Later that day Lady Prunaprismia’s servant had come to your door to take you to her quarters – which was supposed to become yours in a month. Lady Prunaprismia was in the middle of the room, waiting for you, the king by her side. On the table behind them was a book, both of them assumed you knew how to read and write, you were part of one of the great houses of Narnia, it would have been improper for you and your family to be illiterate. The king was the first to sit down, quickly followed by his aunt; again there were side by side while you were asked to sit across the table. You never liked being outnumbered and it was even more intimidating with the King right in front of you.
 “You have the right to breath you know,” King Caspian had leaned on the table to comfort you. you let out a stressed laughed but it made you realised you had been holding your breath. You took a deep breath and felt better. “That’s more like it.”
 “Lady Y/N, this book is the most important book in this castle. It holds all of the prince’s needs, medical events and so on. Until the day you’ll be left alone with him I am going to ask you to study this book to the point where you’ll know it by heart, words for words.”
 You opened the book carefully and the first sentence you read spoke about the prince’s books preferences, one of them you knew well as your father used to read it to you when you were younger. That memory brought a smile on your face. The book was quite big, there was a lot of information about Rilian and one month seemed like a too short amount of time to memories it all.
 “My aunt is a bit extreme; some information is dated and don’t suit Rilian anymore,” you continued to flip through the book as the king continued to speak. “Besides you are to be is governess, not his nurse, you are tasked to educate my son, to teach him basic knowledge until he’ll be old enough for a tutor.”
 “I’m allowed to enter the prince’s chamber at any given time?” you were sure you just had thought that but your mouth had decided to actually put sound on it. “Without permission or schedule!” Wow, that’s what you call trust!
 “You won’t be the only one taking care of Rilian. As I told you he has nurses who are supposed to bath, to feed and to generally take care of his physical health. Make sure he’s in good shape, if you prefer. You are in charge of making sure they do their job.”
 The close the book. You had never realised it was that much trouble taking care of a child. well, you guessed it wasn’t all day long a joyful stroll through the garden but God! Did the child really needed someone dedicated to wipe his butt? You remembered your childhood quite well and, in your memory, your parent partook a huge part of raising you into the woman you were today. But you kept that for yourself, not all parents have the same parenting technics, maybe it was how the king had been raised and he was a fine man. Besides, who were you to tell him how to raise a child? You had no child!
 “I know it’s a lot to take in one day. Don’t worry, you have time,” Prunaprismia took your hands, a kind smile provoking another on your face. “And from what I heard from your mother; you are more than capable.”
 “But if it’s really too much for you, I…we will understand, the Queen and I know taking care of a child, especially one who isn’t yours, can be demanding and challenging. If you think you won’t be up to the task, say it now or never, I’d rather know now and don’t worry it doesn’t mean you are not allowed in court anymore. That would be too cruel.”
 “You can count on me, Your Majesty. I won’t let you down.”
 You rose from your chair, taking the book in your arms and confidently walk away. That was the plan and, in your head, it was the perfect plan to show both of them how serious you were. Of course the cat didn’t agree with your plan and you tripped over him, falling on the ground. You heard Prunaprismia and King Caspian gasped before joining you, asking how you were doing. You felt humiliated. You just had fall on your ass in front of the king! God must have serious grudges over you! As you got back on your feet you swear you could see your pride and dignity staying on the floor by the devilish Shame. Hello you, you’re back again? You thought, sure to have left shame on the continent, somewhere in England or France.
 You assured the King and Lady Prunaprismia that you were fine and – carefully – get out of the chamber. You had a month to learn everything about the prince and to create a bound with him strong enough to hold against the child losing one of the few people he had entire trust and love to. One single month for something that took five years for the Lady Prunaprismia to achieve. That was so you, accepting a challenge when you perfectly knew it would difficult and completely impossible. But ever since you had dared yourself to do things no one would have thought a girl of your birth would do, it had always opened a door to something interesting and bigger than you thought. If you think about it, what would have happened if you had stayed with your mother at Narrowhaven all your damn life? For sure you would have never met the Royal Couple and have a full conversation with the king.
Thoughts/theories on the boys:
Tumblr media
Short in stature but big in personality, Scotty’s a fast-talking teenage entrepreneur from the Florida panhandle who dreams of making the Forbes 400 list one day. And by his side always, both in life and on the island, is his best friend Bo.
I think Scotty's a parallel to Toni, but I don't see any mention of anger issues in his description... maybe they have another "flaw" planned for his character. The big dreams make me feel like he'll get along with Kirin easier than Toni with Rachel. Also, I'm looking forward to seeing his friendship with Bo. Will they make him openly gay like Toni?
Tumblr media
Bo is a soft-spoken, contemplative teenager, also from the Florida panhandle. He has a naively optimistic outlook on life, despite a difficult upbringing, and he’d gladly lie down in the street for his best friend Scotty. His loyalty knows almost no bounds.
I think that Bo is a parallel to Martha, and I'm really excited to see a male character with a softer personality!!! Also, interesting that they say that his loyalty knows no bounds, while that was mentioned for Toni in the promotion for the girls.
Tumblr media
The opposite of his personable stepbrother Seth, Henry is an emo reclusive type who prefers to retreat into the safety of his noise-canceling headphones and dwell on the darkness in the world.
Henry's a parallel to Leah? an interesting choice, curious to see how the relationship between the stepbrothers works out. It would be interesting if they make him the one who figures things out (if any of the boys even figure stuff out?). He also sounds a bit like Nora...
Tumblr media
Seth Novak, who is naturally funny, Ivy-League smart, and full of charisma. Though he doesn’t necessarily aspire to a leadership role, Seth’s steadiness and sense of humor win him the respect and loyalty of the others, except for his step-brother Henry who clearly has issues with him.
Seth seems a parallel to Shelby, the rich and successful white boy (with more issues than meets the eye I'm assuming). It'll be interesting to see the stepbrothers and their relationship (especially seeing as they are parallels to Leah and Shelby, but feel more like a parallel to Shelby and Toni in a platonic way). Although he does have some traits similar to Dot....
Tumblr media
Josh Herbert, a talkative, hypochondriacal teenager from a wealthy family in San Diego. Unlike the rest of his athletic, tennis-playing family, Josh is an awkward, nervous type who takes a number of homeopathic supplements to handle his chronic stress.
I think that Josh is a parallel to Nora, and I just know I'll love this character. Very interested in his backstory! Especially since it seems like he'll be the odd one out in his family (like Rachel) and how that will affect his place in the group. He's talkative, which isn't like Nora, but it'll be fun to see the different take on an awkward and nervous character.
Tumblr media
Rafael Garcia, a quiet, sensitive teenager who lives in Tijuana but attends high school in San Diego. Straddling two worlds has made it difficult to get a clear and certain sense of himself, so he gravitates toward people with stronger, more charismatic personalities than his own.
Rafael seems a parallel to Dot, especially looking at the "caught between two worlds" bit and also taking in account that Dot lost her sense of self while taking care of her dad. I don't think they'll have him take care of a parent, but that they'll instead find another backstory (but if they have him take care of a parent, it would be really cool to see the differences!). The lack of a clear and certain sense of himself and being sensitive also sounds a bit like Shelby...
Tumblr media
Ivan Taylor, an activist and aspiring playwright with an impeccable fashion sense and a razor-sharp wit. But his words can be cutting, sometimes too deeply, which has cost him friends along the way.
I think that Ivan is a clear parallel to Fatin, and I'm excited to see what they'll give him as a backstory! Also the "cost him friends" makes me feel like there'll be a similar fall out as Leah with Fatin, but I'm also curious about what his backstory will entail.
Tumblr media
Kirin O’Conner, a short-tempered lacrosse player who doesn’t have much patience for weakness. Among the castaways, he’s ready and willing to take the lead first, though his hot-headed approach might not appeal to everyone.
Kirin definitely seems like a parallel to Rachel, so I'm curious to see how that turns out. I hope they give him a similar backstory as her, it would be interesting to see a male character with ED. The hotheaded approach also sounds a bit like Toni...
