I wait .
I wait as my ambiguity slowly consumes the part that is left of me .
My eyes being mere metaphors of the words i hope I'll say oneday.
Uplifted with lifelesness .
I wait to write an empty eulogy as I hear screams in my head and i pen down flowers.
My memories are lined with the little guilt left in me .
My shame has evaporated to form a cloud of self loathe.
I am weak so i allow myself to play the same songs in your memory to expose myself to the little part of you left in my life.
It's been so long that now when i think of you i have to reminisce about how i used to miss you.
My Focus has changed to just me being happy with or without you.
Waiting is my only option but I'd choose to wait..it would be my only choice.
I just want to be missed my you....

I'm still not over Taylor's Fortnight MV... to say it's my favorite visual work she's done would be an understatement. As with all things on this album, she did her research. Her incredible DP - Rodrigo Prieto - who has shot The Man, Cardigan, and Willow MVs. As well as, Brokeback Mountain, The Barbie Movie, Killer of the Flower Moon, etc.
There are so many ways to parse the story of the Fortnight video, but I will mostly focus on Taylor's use of mirroring to make some of the video's larger points.
I am a queer former film student so I wanna note that that's the bias I'll be writing from. If that disinterests you, no worries! This just may not be for you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Love that we start with silent film era titles. One is black, one is white, perhaps a ying yang visual or simply representing the original album + the anthology. Could also be the light + dark of her two sides represented by Taylor and Post Malone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The vertical alignment shift in the word Fortnight is interesting because the other time i noticed her doing this was in the closing poem for TTP with, "Some stars never align." Would be cute to have it like a nod to screenplay scene heading: INT. FORT - NIGHT
Tumblr media
We start with Taylor, virtually still, but singing. She's handcuffed to an askew bed frame - sans mattress - with bars resembling a prison/cage.
The mirroring she's doing here is reminding us of "real life" Taylor's outfit at the 2024 Grammy's, but with the addition of white gauzy gloves + garter belt (like on tour), it reads more bridal, more bed sheet. That similar clock necklace is set to, best as I can tell, 9pm.
Tumblr media
And she's got enough hairpins to... idk... make me spin out? Her make up evokes a little Clara Bow, Greta Garbo, legends of the silver screen, etc.
Tumblr media
Taylor stops lip-syncing. Breaking the fourth wall, with direct eye contact, she's forced a "Forget Him" pill and unshackled from her bed prison. Unlike the next instance we get this match shot, it feels like she's telling the audience she knows we're watching and her look has a "this is what I'm forced to do" anger charged to it.
Also, the pill itself seems to break Taylor's reality from here on out. She "forgets him," but perhaps also becomes a different him herself.
Tumblr media
She walks over, in her wacky funhouse of a prison room - skewed angles, upside down doors (those who enter from the left walk on the "ceiling" - to an actual mirror. But this mirror looks more like a one-way mirror. Meaning that the subject can see themselves, but so can others they can't see on the other side. Usually so the subject can be observed.
Still appropriate to break the fourth wall as though we are watching her in a way she can't return.
Tumblr media
She wipes her face to reveal Post Malone's tattoos under the veneer of her prerfect facade. Once done, she utters the first "I want to kill her." She wants to "kill" Taylor TM?
I'll basically be going forward assuming that Post Malone is established in this mirror shot as a representation of Taylor, perhaps her True Taylor underneath the engineered perfection. This door/portal splits her in two on entry. From one white-clad figure to two black-clad ones. Kind of like the splitting of a prism.
Tumblr media
Instead of exiting this upside down asylum, she goes deep into a department - perhaps the Tortured Poets kind. We get an awesome match cut/panning transition where Grammy dress referential Taylor morphs into a Victorian mourning dress. One very similar to the dresses on stage during Folklore during Eras (at the bottom of post). Perhaps also a nod to Emily Dickinson herself.
The way they design the set to make it so her asylum and office are connected feels like a not so subtle call out on how she feels about her chosen industry. Not quite a cheery take on the Lover House for ex. Time also becomes a little bendy, irrelevant when she does this portal walk.
When she enters she sits at a mirrored desk, morphing into Post Malone's silhouette. To the side we have faceless writers, also dressed in black older fashions, that seem to go on for infinity like a mirror trick.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taylor sits down to start writing, Post Malone is already typing. They're both in black with embellished collars. We see that she has a top sheet with typed words, but under they're blank. Post has a pile next to him, along with his fountain pen, which perhaps are fully done b/c placement on the other side of him. Their desks are also arranged ever so slightly different. So Post-Taylor is a typing machine, Taylor needs to catch up...
But then Post Malone looks up to create this awesome mirrored match cut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Taylor and Post-Taylor get to work, singing the chorus, camera cutting on their lines in mirror shots respectively.
We see a typewriter jam the same lines from the song, but specifically "I LOVE YOU." Granted, we can't be 100% sure whose typewriter it is, but we see Taylor type "Love You." Perhaps they're mirroring each other in even this task.
Eventually their stories starts leaking blue and orange/gold ether which prisms out to reveal "The Story of Us."
Tumblr media
Really great shot of the infinity vanishing point effect from the unidentified crowd, how they're positioned makes them look like they're mirroring all of us watching/sharing our opinions.
This is where I'll stop for Part 1 because it's not ok how late this album has been keeping me up.
But a couple of things to start:
Taylor using very strong, very consistent mirroring techniques to create distinctions from narrator, character, and audience. Even the music is mirrored in the chorus with Post Malone's repetition.
By both wearing the face tattoos under a perfect exterior (the face we know her by), and immediately separating into two characters - one with her face/gender expression as we know it and Post-Taylor who now wears the face tattoos we just saw/is also sporting the face and gender expression we are familiar with him. It's Taylor TM the Brand vs Hidden (in plain sight) Identity Taylor.
Her typewriter emits an orange/golden glow from all of her repeated "I LOVE YOU'S," while his emits blue. Together they're creating the next story vignette: "The Story of Us."
One basic read for this is that Taylor could be owning her male POVs that come up in her songs (Folklore we're looking at you). Another read I have is that Taylor TM is writing the love song framework expected from her as an artist while Post-Taylor injects the devastation, anger, emotion, the heavy blues we often unearth from a song we originally thought was upbeat, romantic, unassuming. And considering these mirrored halves, I think that aligns with her own messages about her music, that people will always going looking for paternity tests - the publicized romance pulled from what we think we know about her. But perhaps the assumed truths of a song could be, and often are, driven by your gendered expectations - "Girl loves boy, sings about that." The hidden in plain sight Taylor subverts what the surface level shows.
The True Taylor is an unrecognizable author. And that writer is producing the meat of the work.
Additionally, I love that she's wearing a dress that feels taken off the Era's stage.
Tumblr media
Folklore in particular was a really different writing era for her. She presented the characters and stories as fiction and all the sudden an unknown male collaborator — William Bowery — gets credited on it. I'd love if the message, in part, was hey I'm actually my own male writing partner. Regardless, her other half/POV was able to allow her to write truths so long as they remained unrecognizable.
But she's wearing the mourning dress, looking over at her hidden true half, looking over anxiously. And then begins to write. They're half the story that makes up the whole, one needing the other to tell the story they want to tell. Perhaps it's a call out to Folklore in particular as a solution to being limited by expectations of her signature diaristic-like songs' perspectives. Using it as a way to tell a version of the truth from a POV society or the powers that be in her life would accept it from — not Taylor TM as she is/who she's known to be.
More generally, the "male pov" and the male pronouns, just seem to be called irrelevant smoking guns in the game of knowing the unknowable - what her work, a lot of her work, is referencing specifically. These two writers, as presented, are still both Taylor. Them's the rules here. Ok, see you in PT. 2!

Past Life 🪡 Karmic Spread January 2024 - Aquarius
Character Card: The Poet (past), The Pilgrim (present)
Gender I’m Picking Up On (in the past life): Male, a soft & romantic one that embraced their feminine energy (quietly). Either that’s the same story now, or you’re a woman, I can’t tell. It’s a beautiful energy either way.
Who You Were: 5 Wands rev
What You Did: Knight of Pentacles rev
How It Ended: Strength
What Karma Was Brought With You: The High Priestess
Who You Brought With You: 10 Cups
Additional energy: The Tower rev
Past Life Oracle: Asia & Egypt (past), Celtic (present)
Dreaming Way: Bouquet (past), Anchor, Ship & Tree (present)
Charm:
Racquet 🎾 on Bouquet
Lips 👄 on Strength
Lips 👄 on The Tower rev
Bat 🦇 on The High Priestess
Dress 👗 and Music 🎶 on Celtic
So far your reading has led me down countless historical rabbit holes that don’t give me any answers, it’s a fruitless endeavor, and that’s kind of the whole point to this past life. Everything you did was a fruitless endeavor. Not by choice of course 🙏 Who you were as a person and what you did were two totally different things, you could say you were two totally different people. There may be an lgbtq aspect to this identity, I’m not picking that up specifically, but it would explain the love area, and maybe some of this gender bendy energy.
There is a major lack of historical records that combine Egyptian & Indian cultures even though they were close trade partners and very similar in religion and practice. It was a common occurrence for the two to intermingle, one lives in the other, or in your case works there. You were an Indian man, with an Indian name, it wasn’t “John” and you were a bit intolerant towards white people, because they had a way of waltzing in and taking credit for everything, which made you bitter. You were an archeologist, or some kind of scientist, and what you did specifically, I’m not sure. You never published anything, never spoke your findings out loud, because your life was more of a you vs. the establishment battle, a constant fight for funding, for others to have the same priorities as you and work as a team. You didn’t have that team, or if you did, it disbanded before you could come to any solid conclusions. During the preshuffle I just kept hearing “I have been forgotten”, like you are just wiped from history, and Wiki has a whole list of archeologists that have worked in Egypt specifically, none of them are you. I did find a British woman born in India and heard a clear NO, with the name thing, your name is not John, you are not a woman 😆 The irritation is crystal clear. But you didn’t publish anything either, or maybe you weren’t the lead person I’m not sure - thus got no credit. It burned your ego, which was otherwise healthy. I kept hearing “a white guy took credit”, and with every British archeologist on the list (most of them), I just felt an energy of squirm & disgust. Yeesh 😅
The subject you were studying is the only thing about you I can actually lock down. The Unfinished Obelisk, said to be built by Pharoah Hatshepsut - the longest successful ruling female pharoah, that liked to be depicted in male ways, with a beard, or certain markings, to assert her dominance - that I’ve found anyway. You felt a strong connection to her, possibly identified with her in some way, both of you could toe the line of gender based identities, or maybe it’s a past life within a past life 😆 That would be pretty cool. I spent a lot of time researching her thinking maybe that was where this was going, or I’d find a trail, and kept hearing no, male, Indian, everything I’ve said.
You uncovered something you either never gave to a higher up, the lead boss man, the university or whoever was funding this, etc., or it was just information you kept to yourself due to the fact that you wouldn’t get credit for it. 7 Swords is Aquarius energy after all, very strategic, but along the lines of fairness for you, and either race, titles, hierarchy in “the system”, personal bias for sure, something prevented you from achieving success in the way you wanted to. You stole the sword before someone else did to use it against you. I call this side of Aquarius “going all Darth Vader”, because regardless of loyalty, titles, positions, responsibilities, you’re intelligent, and can smell problems a mile away. And right is right, wrong is wrong, fair is fair - King of Swords. This behavior is probably why you’re an Aqua now, if you weren’t before.
Now for the softer side of you, which was quite dreamy and romantic, head full of fantasies. The Poet falls in love with anyone and everyone, love at first sight may have been a regular thing for you, you were full of inspiration and it didn’t take much to stir your affections. I’m getting this being due to a lack of genuine emotional expression, you didn’t have a partner. I’m not really sensing one, ever. Bouquet with the racket describes one person in particular that either played an Indian racquet sort of game, or you played together, again showing it’s possible this was an lgbtq sort of connection/situation. Because you never ended up with this person, or any, you were very quiet, dreaming, fanciful, obsessed with the idea of love but afraid to take action, ask, even flirt to some degree. I get no energy off of them, you may have just watched from a distance, or this was a friend, they probably never knew that you were madly & obsessively in love with them. You may have been a literal poet, as a hobby. This life is described as Knight of Pentacles rev, there never was any progress, nothing ever became of anything you did, and it burned your soul. You never said word, about love, discoveries, your life, you returned to India after failure and “gave up”, didn’t do anything significant, you didn’t care anymore, and eventually contracted some sort of painful disease, I’m getting this lasted for quite a while, 10 years or so, before it finally took you. If you wrote anything, you tore it up, burned it, got rid of any “evidence” of your feelings, inner nature, confessions, etc.
In this life, you’re already older, The Anchor here shows you’ve already completed your soul mission where *this* life is concerned, which seems to be centered around family trauma or generational healing. Your healing is, you’ve pushed them all away. The circumstances aren’t mentioned specifically, except that you are defensive and have the high moral ground for an argument where you could justify your position on things and *know* you’re right about it - regarding childhood, the past, possibly with a mother or female figure in particular. You could also be someone who does not want children, because you feel like your bloodline is toxic or something, you wouldn’t do that to a child. There’s also a note of possible adoption/abortion that could be being kept secret, only you’d know. Whatever was done was supposed to be done, or has already been done, and it was done in a similar Aquarian way of handling a problem before it’s a problem, stealing swords that could cut you, avoiding Towers before they fall - which is here. That’s a part of you that isn’t as negative as you or others may perceive it to be. You know what you’re up against, and how to handle it, others can either join you or not…I’m getting you’ve left a lot of people behind. A whole family possibly.
Celtic is here, with the dress, music, and I’m seeing bright red flushed cheeks. You could be Irish, and when I say Irish I mean like you go to a St. Patrick’s Day parade and actually belong there, not like the rest of us browner/tan people just having a good time 😆 Ancestral heritage may be very important to you regardless of the specific people in your life. You could listen to Celtic meditation music or dancing could be involved in this too. Your intuition is a gift that you often question but is actually quite powerful, this is saying it only grows with time, but The Pilgrim is exhausted. You’ve done it all, seen it all, escaped or dodged the worst of it, and now you’re at the point you just keep going with no real inspiration, spark, you’re just passing life by with no notice, and The Fool is at the bottom showing it’s time for a new beginning. You’ve done it, you’ve made it, whatever “it” is.
What is The Fool and this new thing: Strength, Justice & 2 Swords
That’s very cryptic, you already know what you need to do, you just know that it’s not going to be easy for you. Strength shows up when it’s required, Justice is finally making a decision that’s kept you in 2 Swords for awhile, unsure of which path to take or what to do. Idk the what, but you can take it as confirmation that whatever it is, YES, it’s what you need to do 💜 If you beat yourself up over family dynamics, did you do the right thing by holding back from this or certain people, the answer is yes. And you’re free to start all over with something else - The Fool, enjoy your life.

you know what would be fun? if you, probably the greatest expert of Cavalcanti on this cursed website, made a list of all the ways he isn't straight
just sayin
Okay, first of all: I'm really flattered and honoured >3
Second of all: this makes me want to state that I do not actually have any official titles, degrees or such, all that I know is the fruit of my own personal research
But third and most important of all: *cracks knuckles* let's begin.
This is why Guido is as straight as a bendy ruler:(warning: it's going to be long, I was not able to make it a simple list, and we need to examine Dante too)
Let's start from a brief understanding of homosexuality in XIII century Florence. It's known that the city was at the time one of the most open minded ones. In fact, while in this period we witness a general increase of intolerance in Italy, Florence is more behind, remaining more conservative, and thus more accepting. This means that during Guido's life, homosexuality was still punished with a fine, not stakes (which would become the norm in XVth century, with some first few in the XIVth). The opinion of the people is especially important, and we have to specify two things: generally speaking, intolerance was promoted mostly by the working class, while the upper class showed, instead, to be less intransigent. We can propose two examples:
the first being Dante, who not only criticized the working class in the Comedy calling it la gente nova dai subiti guadagni, "the new people of quick earnings", affirming his conservative political positions, but we also see that he keeps divine and human judgment separate: if we consider the figure of Brunetto Latini, his teacher and famous politician and poet, in fact, we see that Dante-theologian puts him amongst the sodomites because he has to, but Dante-character sees him and doesn't show disgust nor hatred, rather he shows compassion for his suffering and love for someone whom he considered his father. Let's not forget, furthermore, that Dante puts homosexuals in Purgatorio too (and in the highest part!), also meaning that there are homosexuals in heaven.
The second is Boccaccio who also talks about this topic in two occasions, the first being in his commentary to the Divine Comedy, where he discusses the fact that Dante usually shows compassion towards the damned only when he feels he has committed their sin too, and since Dante shows compassion to Brunetto Latini, he hypothesizes that Dante was a sodomite as well and in saying so he doesn't express any harsh judgements. The second occasion is in his Decameron, VI, 10, where the protagonist is Pietro da Vinciolo, a well known homosexual in Perugia (at that time considered a city full of homosexuals), and what interests us is that nor the citizens nor the rest of the characters in the story ever condemn him, but simply accept it as a "sad part of his nature". Boccaccio doesn't condemn homosexuality in a harsh and severe way. He, too, shows compassion knowing full well that, as a catholic, it's a sin.
So, going back to Guido, what was (probably) his view on the topic? As one of the richest people in the city and a very noble man, he was absolutely against the working class, meaning his political stand was conservative (which can also be seen from other events in his life), but contributing to his open-mindedness are two other important factors that we cannot neglect: his family and his philosophical views. Guido's father (Cavalcante) and father in law (Farinata degli Uberti) were respectfully epicurean and cathar, so heretics who didn't stand with the Pope and the catholic Church. Of Farinata we can't say a lot with certainty, but Cavalcante was a materialistic who believed in the theory of atoms and instead didn't believe in God, which probably made him open to homosexuality. That surely influenced him on some level, considering the fact that Guido was probably atheist too. He did not believe in the catholic God but rather in a different superior enitity and that after death only part of one's soul would survive, the intellect, which however did not retain the personality of the individual, so basically for the person there was nothing in the afterlife. His philosophical belief also did not recognize the concept itself of sin and from his poems we know that he only celebrated carnal love, not romantic, for he perceived the latter as an illness (do not forget that in his life he was more famous with the title of "natural philosopher" than poet). All this to say: I feel it's not too much of a long shot when I say homosexuality wasn't exactly a problem to him.
Now, let's add some spicy content. Chronicler Dino Compagni, in his Cronica, tells us that Corso Donati (political enemy of Guido and his faction) would insult his opponents with nicknames, for example he called Vieri de' Cerchi asino di Porta (Donkey from Porta), and he called Guido cavicchia (peg). Now, critics are divided concerning the meaning of the nickname: some say it was becaude Guido was tall and skinny, but personally I wouldn't see how that could be an insult, and considering the often rude attitude of Corso I'm more inclined to believe in the other interpretation, which is a passive homosexual. Yes. He'd call him bottom in public. Now, was it true? Was it only political slander? If it were the only existing source that hinted at this aspect of Guido's person, then it could be regarded as such, but fate was on the queer side and decided we should also have the poem of Lapo di Farinata degli Uberti, his brother in law, who literally wrote a whole sonnet to say he was homosexual.
It was written as a reply to In un boschetto trova' pasturella ("In the dainty woods I found a little shepherd-maid"), in which Guido, to make it brief, (excuse my crudeness) talks about finding a shepherdess and having (consensual!) sex with her. This kind of poetry was widely spread in Provence, so there were fixed ways in which the poem could go: after the knight tried to seduce the girl, the latter could turn him down or there could be a male rival and sometimes the knight succeded in his intent, other times no. It's interesting to note that in the middle of the poem the girl, after having been addressed by Guido, who has expressed his desire, takes on the role of the male figure as she states that her heart is his (typically it's the other way around) and then takes Guido by the hand and leads him under a tree to consume their love (action which would normally be done by the knight). Going back to the reply to this poem, Lapo wrote Guido quando dicesti pasturella (Guido, when you said little shepherd-maid). In it he says that he spoke to a person that had gone with Guido to the woods and that person told him that that day he had only seen a young man in the company of Guido so Lapo says that either he lied about his adventure (so he didn't actally meet anyone) or that he had sex with that man, and tried to cover it up by replacing him with a female. The hilarious thing is he closes the sonnet with something like "so please fix your poem". Like. The man wasn't joking around. You should just go read the poem actually, it's fire. And possibly read Guido's poem first. It makes it better.
[actually, I just realized online there's no translation of Guido's poem that would make you understand the parody in the reply, so after this post I'll make another one with my own translation, even if it'll be less elegant]
There is a possibility that Lapo was just fooling around but. come on. both from his friends and his enemies?
Having said this, was Guido homosexual? And not only, was he a bottom? I believe that we cannot give faith to the "bottom" part, because Corso wanted to insult Guido and that's the most obvious thing you could say, but also because Lapo made us understand that with that young man the one topping was Guido (although even that is questionable for poetical reasons that I cannot elaborate here). But was he at least homosexual? At this point of my analysis I am inclined to say yes, but I still have other things to say.
Let us, in fact, pass on to more recent sources and by that I mean the opinion of contemporary critics, because yes, such a discussion exists amongst them (that already tells us something). I will focus in particular on Enrico Malato who wrote very interesting things on Guido and Dante. Below are some extracts:
Tumblr media
[...] it's understandable why Guido, wanting to declare his dissent to Dante on the conception of love avoiding a direct conflict, adopted the escamotage of making Love himself contest it [...]
Why is this relevant, you ask? Well, here we see Guido wanting to avoid direct conflict, and to anyone who has read this man's correspondences with other poets it will immediately come as a surprise. Guido loved picking fights with poets. He loved contradicting people and making his point. So him avoiding direct conflict simply because he cared about the person? It is relevant indeed, especially when put together with the rest of the post.
Tumblr media
The conflict had to have been lived in a traumatic way by both the protagonists of this event, on one side because of the intensity of the intellectual and maybe affective bond that everything let's us believe united them [...]
Guido and Dante, according to the words of Malato, were sure to be united by not only an intellectual but also affective bond, reason why when they found themselves in deep disagreement they felt traumatized. No, it wasn't hatred that they were left with, not contempt, nothing at all, it was trauma. They felt fear and sadness and delusion. Let me say, not even regular couples would've behaved that way, these two were on a higher level of harmony together, they were soulmates.
Tumblr media
If however, regardless of the contrast, the insistence of Guido betrays an attention, an interest, maybe a solicitude* towards Dante, a desire to recuperate the relationship, or at least to not stop talking, it appears evident that even on behalf of the younger poet, more reserved, less prone to dialogue and even more so to discussion, there wasn't a lacking of an attitude of, so to say, consideration, of regard towards the other, which betrays the not definitive and total break up between the two, or at least the will, even on behalf of Dante, not to disavow [...] the old solidarity, esteem, ammiration, friendship that had characterized their bond [...]
* I can't think of the right word to translate what the original text says, but it's like solicitude together with affectionate care.
I feel this description rivals the way a man in the 19th century could've talked about friendship.
Tumblr media
[...] the «first friend» is the only one, between the many probable friends, in whom Dante recognizes a «fine intellect» equal to his [...] and is the only one whom Dante designs as possible and unfortunately missed companion in the trip to salvation. Not equivocal sign of a recognized privileged position, by virtue - it's to believe - of a "special" relationship between the two, which after all, is well known through other sources [...]
I feel like Malato doesn't realize the implications of what he writes, but at least he recognizes their truth. Dante wanted Guido to accompany him in the afterlife. Considering the depth with which Dante felt his faith, that is not saying little. He wanted Guido by his side in the moment he'd meet the sight of God. He wanted to share the fears and pains of hell. He wanted to share the salvation of the soul, which also means he wanted to share heaven with him. He wanted him in the moment he'd live the ultimate meaning of his life...but they did not get to do any of that. And a part of Dante, no matter how much he tried to deny it in his works, could not accept that knowledge, resulting in a constant, hovering presence of Guido, which is never too explicit but always there, always by his side (Malato talks about an unintended presence, one that Dante did not put consciously but that is a testimony nonetheless to the presence of Guido in Dante's mind and thoughts), sometimes with nostalgia, sometimes with frustration, but there, because indeed what they had was "special", and this brings us to the next extract...
Tumblr media
[...] we should ask ourselves why Dante took on this attitude in regards to Guido, why he wanted to subtract him, only him, from judgement, why those «silences», that «reticence» [...]
It is a fact that Guido is the only one whom Dante refuses to judge in the Divine Comedy. Yes, there is that controversial line (Inf. X), but it's not a sentence to damnation. Dante writes "maybe". Only maybe Guido will be damned. Dante doesn't know, he doesn't want to know. He had the heart and confidence to judge popes and friends, close friends, and living people, but his affection towards Guido, even after their fight, even after the latter's death, even after decades, did not diminish in intensity one bit.
Tumblr media
There's a complex problem of psychological sort, as many now recognize, that involves and conditions, today we'd say freudianingly, the "sentimental" relationship between Dante and Guido [...]. The observation of Roberto Antonelli: «in the Divine Comedy the strongest connotation of the friendship and respect that emerges [...] is still the affective-memorial one». [...] Instead, it's still to explore the connotation of the relationship that is at the base, which [...] is characterized by its dissimulation [...].
Usually, Malato, when alluding to an "affection" between the two, always accompanies it with a "maybe" (and personally I wouldn't know how to interpret that unless by "affection" he means something that goes beyond friendship, because between friends it would seem obvious that they'd feel affection), but here we see him talking about an apparently generally recognized "sentimental" relationship (as we can see he won't give up the quotation marks though) that is object to a freudian problem, that being Dante still connotating their friendship by affection and remembrance even years after Guido died. At this point I am inclined to think that Malato does question, maybe not too consciously, the true nature of their relationship, and since I find his works are usually very meticulous, reason why I appreciate him, I cannot but find that the hypothesis of Guido not being heterosexual (and at this point Dante too) is quite strong.
This, for now, is all that I have as indication that Guido is not straight (I don't know if I would go as far as saying he's gay, but at least bisexual, probably). I say for now because I'm currently researching another source but before I analyze it well enough I don't want to post about it, I fear I will possibly spread misinformaion.
So, I hope this answer satisfies your request!

Well, a little prehistory to au. At first I wanted to write fan fiction, but unfortunately I'm not a poet, so I'm a kind of lark).
The story begins thanks to Cuphead and Bendy, having met in a bar and got drunk, they promised two hunters to kill a monster in the mountain. Cuphead will get the money, Bendy will have an unforgettable adventure, and the hunters will have a rest. Boris and Magmen were not happy about this news, but they went with them, and suddenly they would promise someone else. On the way they met Dem and Will who joined their adventure out of boredom. Dem and Cup fall in love with each other. And it seems like an idyll, but when they reach the monster, Dem and Will die? And after 3 years, the events of au occur, I hope that I have explained everything clearly if there are any questions, then ask ahead, I will be happy to answer. And sorry for the translation errors if there are any .owo

Alice Angel Headcanon dump
Tumblr media
Alice is Bi as hell baby. She has a preference for girls with her type being glamour gals that take no shit from men and scrappy boys with thick accents.
Alice doesn’t have a good relationship with her parents in any sense of the word. When it comes to her parents in her cartoon verse or Joey in her studio verse.
She’s the owner of a small bar known as “The Inkwell,” where her and Clyde dazzle the locals with their hypnotic voices.
Her relationship with Bendy can be filed as... “It’s complicated.”
She was in fact in love with Susie Campbell when she first started and was overly harsh towards Allison Pendle when Susie was replaced. However... After Susie became “The Angel,” that relationship has become greatly soured. Who would’ve thought watching the love of your life murder copies of your best friend over and over again...
Speaking of which, Boris & Alice are Besties. He’s a repair man for her bar and he sometimes plays his clarinet on stage!
She did stay with Malice for a short period of time and learned a plethora of medical skills while under her service. Hell, she even learned to be a somewhat decent surgery being Susie’s original little errand girl to Susie.
In her toon verse, Alice was actually a noble in Heaven destined for “greatness” and used to have a rather haughty and spoiled person when she was in the pearly gates. However, this was just a mask for who she really wanted to be,
What ultimately led to her falling was helping Bendy out. (Still working out the details of how.) She helped him, got chastised by her superiors for assisting a demon and was ordered to slay Bendy in order to redeem herself. She of course said, “Fuck no! I’m not doing that! Screw you!” And thus led to her falling. Though to be honest, she’s much happier with her current position.
GOTH. AS. FUCK.
Hates the word “Perfect.” It reminds her too much of Malice and it was a concept that Joey tried to engrave into her brain to the point of self destruction. However now that she’s free of his influence she’s realized that there’s no such thing and flaws make a person who they are.
She has fangs.
She writes her own material! She’s an extremely talented singer/dancer/musician/Poet!
She carries a revolver with silver bullets as well as a silver dagger blessed with holy magic.
She loves to study the occult.
She’s an expert in exorcising ghost/spirts!

Festina Lente
Tumblr media
The Latin festina lente is a classical adage, an oxymoron used to describe the military and political acumen of the Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus.
The phrase means "make haste slowly." Augustus was so fond of it that he had emblems and seals to signify it.
The Roman historian Suetonius wrote of Augustus:
He thought nothing less becoming in a well-trained leader than haste and rashness, and, accordingly, favourite aphorisms of his were: "Hasten slowly"; "Better a safe commander than a bold"; and "That which has been done well has been done quickly enough."
Sofia Isabel Kavlin is a poet I've read from time to time, and she recently wrote a poem about relationships and how they go awry when we move too quickly and ignore warning signs that might have helped avoid heartbreak.
She writes of festina lente:
One metaphor that opens things up, Like a point in time, Stretching to become a moment, And the idea of time, Draining out of your cells.
There is something strangely beautiful about Kavlin's interpretation of the phrase.
For her, it's a perception of time and how we lose sight of how bendy it can become, how moments can last seemingly forever, and yet, all the while, time is doing its work on us because it's also fleeting.
For my part, I've often unknowingly used that phrase when I've led group decision-making and have shared with the group: "We need to move as quickly as we can and as slowly as we must."
Festina lente  also resembles the adage, "Measure twice, cut once."  You can't stay paralyzed in the measuring phase, as you might imagine, and you will need to cut at some point.  But not measuring isn't an option either.
Most people fall into one of those two categories at different times.
They either spend all their time measuring, moving slowly, worrying about making the wrong choice, or never really moving, or they move ahead, leap before looking, and then wonder why they fell flat on their face.
But if we learned to adopt the wisdom of festina lente, we might discover a way to satisfy both the impulse to be cautious and to act quickly.
Jesus once told his followers:
Jesus was trying to teach his followers about the cost of discipleship.  His words would not have been all that unfamiliar for first-century ears because they would have all known people who became disciples of one rabbi or another.
One didn't follow a rabbi lightly in those days.  It meant dedicating your life to studying, learning, and being with the rabbi as much as possible so you could learn to be like the rabbi.
The thing about Jesus was that he was offering this guidance to regular folks, not just the elite, who qualified to be a student.  His call to discipleship was for everyone.
Let's let that sink in.  The decision to follow Jesus is for all of us, no matter who we are or our qualifications.  And the decision to follow Jesus is one that we should consider carefully each and every day.
We should "make haste slowly" in our journey in the Way of Christ.  This means we should be prepared to see the world as Christ sees it.  We should consider what it means to live differently, to love God and everyone as Christ did.
And then we should move.
To stay stuck in the considering phase does the world no good, and you and I have been called to be lights in this world.  Charging off without being thoughtful in our faith is not an option either. But we still need to move.
May we all find ways to live out a thoughtful, grace-filled, loving faith that is also energetic and life-giving.  May we open our hearts and minds to discover what it really means to be Christ's disciples and then follow him as best we can.
And may the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all, now and forever. Amen.

Well Rin you know that au I sent where I mentioned you had twelve children with zhongli and your son's disciple. To show how powerful your children are all of them have reality bendi but the limit has to be based on a their art form. Here is some alternate outfits for them.
Here is for nian. The blacksmith daughter who made an actual mobile city literally. Her power is to control metal as in she can literally make alloys that technology cannot even replicate.
Tumblr media
This is dusk. Your daughter who has made dimensions that are inside of painting and can summon creatures out of ink.
Tumblr media
Here is Ling. She is an ex military strategist and drunken poet. She has bended reality a lot of times in the story the only limit is it has to be poetic and in order. She can also summon a much more powerful dragon but it is less expendable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is your son's student. We don't have an exact demonstration of her power but she is powerful enough to be a captain in the military.
Tumblr media
i think i remember dusk and her painting shenanigans hsldfjksldf these are all so pretty!

Natural Disaster
Tumblr media
Humans have been coping with natural disasters since time immemorial. There are so many disaster which can not be controlled by human intervention. They are destined to bring their tragic consequences of human destruction. Due to human intervention in the natural processes, the destructive power and frequency of natural disasters have increased considerably.
According to U N statistics, natural disasters kill 1,00,000 persons on an average and cause property damage of Rs 20,000 crores world wide per year. Among the top ten natural disaster-prone countries, India stands second after China. Therefore, there is a need for creating awareness among all sections of the people about it’s causes, consequences as well as preventive measures so that they can handle as an individual, and as a members of society
DISASTERS IN INDIA – A BACKGROUND
Due to vulnerability of different kinds of disasters, it is said that India is a disaster prone country, the reasons are: 1. Over 55% of the land area is vulnerable to earthquakes, 2. 12% is flood prone, 3. 8% is vulnerable to cyclones and 4. 70% of the land under cultivation is drought prone
FLOODS
With the arrival of Monsoon, people living in
4 crore hectares area of the country become extremely nervous. No one knows when there will be a flood in the river and their hard earned belongings will be washed away. In comparison to other disasters flood cause more damage to life and property. Twenty percent of deaths caused by floods in the world, occur in India.
DROUGHT
The tragedy caused by drought affects the people slowly and vastly. This is different type of agony but painful. To see domestic animals to die of hunger and thirst before ones own eyes; to send beloved members of the family in search of employment to far off places in extremely uncertain and exploitative conditions, reduction in diet to reduce the already meager diet, to wander in search of work all day long in relief works and return rejected and empty-handed in the night, these are some of the heart rending scenes from the drought affected areas of India
LANDSLIDES
A major landslide occurred in the midnight in a place called Lamari on the foot path leading to Kailash Mansarover about 60 km away from Dharchula, in August 1998. Lamari is situated between Bendi and Malpa. The debris of this landslide slipped into river Kali and blocked its flow. The water of the river spread over an area of 1½ square km. Thus a lake was created in which the water was flowing. Some pilgrims going to Kailash Mansarovar were resting here in this fateful night. This landslide killed 60 pilgrims
EARTHQUAKE
In simple words sudden shaking or trembling of the earthsurface is an earthquake. Most earthquake are a minor tremor. Larger earthquakes usually begin with slight tremors but suddenly they turn into violent shocks and after that the intencity of shocks deminishes. Tremors or shocks are felt for a few seconds only. Earthquake is a hazard that strikes suddenly. A hindi poet described the earthquake in these word. “Earthquakes strikes without pre information but the breathing stops without informing the man.”
CYCLONES
Cyclones are centers of low atmospheric pressure, in which the air pressure in-creases from the centre to the outer areas. Consequently winds flow from outside to the centres. In cyclones winds blow in an anticlock-wise direction in the northern hemisphere and in clock-wise in the southern hemisphere.
WHATYOU HAVE LEARNT
Among the top ten disaster prone countries, India stands second after China. More than 6% of the total population bear the brunt of natural disasters. Natural hazard, which devastates life and property, are called disasters. More than 20%of the deaths caused by floods in the world, occur in India. Floods are caused by heavy rain, deposition of sediment and tsunami. 65% of cultivated area of India is rain fed. This is the area where droughts are common. Degradation of environment caused by human activities is also responsible for drought. By adopting some measures, the impact of drought could be mitigated. 191 districts, out of the 593 (2001) districts of India, are vulnerable to drought. Landslides cause heavy damage on mountainous slopes in rainy season. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and all the seven states of North East India are landslide prone. Landslides are caused by deforestation, earthquakes, construction of roads and buildings, and shifting agriculture. A very severe earthquake occurred on 26 January, 2001 in Gujarat. Earthquakes not only destroy life and property, but also changes the courses of rivers. Tsunami, mud fountains, cracks and fissures are also caused by severely devastating earthquakes. The quake prone areas are North East India, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Cyclones originate in the Bay of Bengal and affects the states of eastern coasts. Cyclones that originate in the Arabian Sea have a devastating impact over Maharashtra and Gujarat coast If some precise precautions are taken, the impact of cyclones could be mininised.

Poem 12: Ring
So full disclosure, I am not a huge shipper by any means, but there are a few ships that I’ve slowly fallen in love with. Originally I wanted to do something for Allison and Tom, but when the story got rolling, it was clear I had to try this with Susie and Sammy. They’re right up there for me with Sammy and Norman, or even better, Sammy, Norman, and Susie together (listen there’s an amazing artist that does some stuff with this trio and I’m weak for it -cough cough @soundzler-loki cough cough-) Hope you enjoy this hypothetical scenario from musician to voice actress.~

A Question for Susie
By: Kat Alyst
A gentleman with ring in hand
Had only one true demand.
Or rather, a request,
Sorry, I jest,
Sometimes you need a word choice
That doesn’t exactly fit your voice.
But his voice, oh yes,
You need feel no distress,
For his voice shall set
your heart to rest.
A musician with a spark in his eyes
Carried a love in his heart
For a muse unlike any he’d seen before
Had set his love alight in art
Yes, she was art.
She was beauty and grace,
She was his entire world,
In her hand, she held the ace.
She was talented and sweet
Though in height, quite petite,
And while her flowery air was delicate,
She was as tough as any angel.
For three weeks straight the man paced,
Back and forth
Back and forth,
Until he finally worked up the nerve
Until he could no long swerve away
from the question he wished to ask.
For his angel was so beautiful,
inside and out,
Enough to make him want to shout
In jubilation
He had to keep his concentration
And make this moment the best moment
That her eyes would ever see
When he'd get down on one knee and ask,
"Susie, will you marry me?"
"My heart only yearns for you.
For when into my life, you flew
On Angel's wings with such grace,
The moment I laid eyes upon your face
I knew.
Somehow I knew
That you were someone I wanted to dedicate all my time to.
When I'm composing,
When I'm playing songs,
I only think of you.
You are the most beautiful melody
Please, let me be your harmony."

Walls
The truth is
A long time ago, I started building walls
Just to see if you'd take them down
Instead of demolishing them,
Brick by brick
You built me a castle
Just to name me queen.
