"Stop smirking, I'm mad at you"
Ona Batlle x reader
You and Ona get lost, inspired by this pic of her.

You were just in the process of jamming your feet in a pair of shoes when you heard the doorbell ring. Knowing it was your girlfriend coming to pick you up, you hobbled over to open it, still putting your shoes on. “Buenos días, cariño!” Ona greeted you with the same wide smile you had grown to love, giving you a peck on the lips before entering your apartment.
“Hola, Oni. I’ll be ready in a second. Let me just grab my stuff.” Ona had made plans for the two of you to go hiking together, wanting to try out a new trail that Mapi had told her about.
Hiking wasn’t your favorite thing but you could make an exception if it meant spending time with Ona. You trusted that she knew you well enough not to plan anything too long or you’d get tired of it, along with packing lots of snacks to make sure she could keep you in a good mood.
You reappeared wearing a small backpack, ready for your short adventure, to find Ona sitting on your kitchen counter, waiting patiently. As soon as she saw you, she jumped down to give you another kiss. “All ready to go?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be,.” You playfully rolled her eyes at her, knowing that you couldn’t have that bad of a time when you were with her.
Ona stood up on her toes to meet you, kissing your nose, “you’ll have fun, I promise. Mapi said this was a good trail.”
“Oh so now we’re trusting Mapi to plan our dates?”
“Okay. You got me there. But I do still think you’ll like this one.” You gave her a light chuckle as she pulled you towards the door, eager to get going and start your day together.
The entire care ride there, Ona was excitedly telling you about your upcoming hike and everything that you might be seeing. She held your hand as she drove, constantly stealing looks at you to see if you were as enthusiastic as she was. You noticed her constant glances over at you and you found it amusing. It was sweet how much she cared about you having a good time with her, even if you both knew you always did. You gave her hand a squeeze, giving her a bit of reassurance as she drove. Even if you didn’t love the activity itself, you were excited to have this much uninterrupted time, just the two of you. Plus she had reassured you that it was supposed to be relatively short and easy so you knew you should be able to get through it without too many complaints.
When she parked the car, the dark haired woman looked to you for reassurance once again. “Are you sure you want to do this? We can always do something else if you don’t want to.”
“Oni, I’m all in, okay? This sounds like it’ll be fun, and it’s not all that long anyways, I’ll be good I swear. I won’t even complain that much.” You gave her another kiss, hoping that she’d be settled by the fact that you were fully agreeing to this. It seemed to work as she gave you a quick nod. With that you left the car, ready for your girlfriend to lead the way.
Ona was right that it did seem to be more interesting than some of the hikes you’d done. There was more to look at- more interesting flowers, a view of the water in the distance, it really wasn’t bad. It was a beautiful day so it made for good conversation as you moved alongside your girlfriend. At times you would stop to take a picture of the scenery or look at some bird that you saw off in the distance. It was nice, peaceful.
After about an hour, you reached a small clearing that had a beautiful view of the ocean where you both decided to take a short break. Ona passed you the water bottle she brought for you as you both sat on some rocks, taking in the view.
“So,” she looked over to you, “what do you think of the trail so far?”
“You know, you were right. I like this one a lot better than the last, the scenery is better for sure.”
“Well don’t tell Mapi cause it was her idea and she doesn’t need her ego inflated anymore.” You laughed as she put an arm around your shoulders, pulling you into her so you could rest your head on her shoulder. The Catalan immediately pressed a kiss to the top of your head while you just sat, lost in thought, taking in the peace and quiet.
You appreciated how Ona helped you get out of your comfort zone and expand your world. She could push you to do things you never normally would while still making sure you were comfortable.
As it often did, your girlfriend’s voice broke you from your thoughts, “Should we start to head back so we make it in time for dinner?”
You gave her a nod and she loosened her arm around you, both knowing that you’d be the first to start complaining once you got hungry. Once you stood up, you offered Ona your hand, pulling her up to join you, giving her a quick kiss as soon as she did. Her lips chased yours, not wanting to separate for long. You smiled deeply, loving how she could never get enough of you as she wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you in tight for a longer kiss.
The two of you only separated when you heard another pair of hikers approaching, grinning at each other as you did so. “Shall we?” Ona offered you her hand and began to lead the two of you back in the direction you came from.
You appreciated the peacefulness of the hike back. The sun had lowered slightly in the sky and was casting a new set of shadows across your path, illuminating the scenery in a new way. The new lighting made you take notice of things you hadn’t seen before on your way out- more flowers, more little rodents scampering down the trees next to you. It was beautiful. For a second you were almost enjoying the idea of hiking.
At some point along the way, you noticed that at every split in the path Ona would stop and look around for a while before continuing picking which way to go. It seemed at first  like she was just taking in the view, just as you were doing, but her pauses became longer and longer the further you went. You started to take notice of this but figured she must have a reason. Ona knew what she was doing, she went on hikes somewhat regularly, so she would definitely know the way back better than you would.
When you realized that you had been walking for an hour and a half and still saw nothing but trees ahead of you, concern started to wash over you. “Oni, you know the way back, yes?”
Your girlfriend stopped briefly and gave you a look, eyebrows raised, “Of course I do. I just wanted to take a little different route back so we could see some more of the trail. Is that okay?”
”Of course, it’s beautiful. I’m glad we get to see a bit more of it.” You smiled at her, reassured that the change in route was intentional. Ona didn’t seem to return your smile as she turned back to the trail and continued to lead you forward.
You continued to walk, keeping a close eye on Ona’s face as you did so, trying your best to read her thoughts. Her face would scrunch up in confusion at times as she tried to hide the way she continued to look around, trying to figure out her surroundings. The longer you walked, the more sure you were that you were lost. Your girlfriend didn’t realize how clearly her feelings showed on her face so it was becoming obvious to you how confused she was as she continued to try to find her way back to the car.
After it had been about another half hour, you gave her hand a tug, making her stop to look back at you, a serious look across your face. “Oni, we’re lost.” You were surprised to see her roll her eyes in response, apparently ready to get defensive. Hoping to calm her down some, you lifted her hand in yours to place a soft kiss on the back of it. “It’s okay, just let me help you find our way back.”
“We’re not lost! I can get us back just fine!” she snapped at you before sighing heavily, apparently annoyed at you for questioning her. “I have snacks if you’re hungry or something but you need to trust me. I know what I’m doing!” she dropped your hand and started forward again, not bothering to look back at you.
Even though you knew she was serious, it was so hard to take your girlfriend’s anger seriously. Especially with how she was now stomping down the path, it was like watching an angry toddler. She couldn’t help it, she was just so cute. When she offered you snacks in the middle of being mad at you, it was hard to take her bad mood personally. You smiled softly to yourself while continuing behind her
As you followed her closely, you secretly pulled up the trail map on your phone. Ona made it clear she was frustrated that you questioned her but you just wanted to make sure you made it back before dark.
When you came to another divide in the road, she stopped, eyebrows knit together, trying to decide which way was right. You wanted to stay quiet but when she tried to lead you the exact opposite direction from the car, you had to speak up.
“Love, I think we need to go this way.” You tried your best to speak gently, not wanting to upset her any further. The trail map said that if you took the path you were suggesting, you’d only have a couple more minutes until you reached the car, much closer than either of you realized. Certainly it would be a much quicker way back than the way Ona was trying to currently lead you, directly away from the car. At this point you were just waiting for her to give up her stubbornness and agree that you were right.
You didn’t notice the small smile that had crept onto your face as you both stood in a deadlock, staring at each other, until she finally broke.
“Stop smirking at me, I'm mad at you!” this time you definitely laughed at her as she was one step away from an actual tantrum. “Amorrrrrrrr, stop laughing at me.”
“Oni, you know I love you. And I’m sorry for laughing at you. But if we go this way, we’re literally less than five minutes from the car.” You took her hands in yours, calming her slightly as you spoke. The Catalan’s eyes were on the ground, seemingly ashamed to have gotten you lost on what should’ve been an easy hike. “Why don’t we head back to the car, we can grab some dinner, and then we’ll go back to my place and do the usual.” Ona finally looked up at you, confused by what you meant. “You know, the usual. We eat snacks, sit on the couch, ignore the TV, and make out.”
Your comment got a smile from her, the first one you’d seen in at least an hour. She gave you a shy nod, still not fully past the shame of leading you astray for the last two hours. “Oni, give me a hug.” Your girlfriend didn’t need to be told twice, launching herself into you without a second thought.
She held you tightly, clearly needing the hug more than you realized, before she mumbled into your shoulder, “sorry for getting us lost.” “It’s okay, love. Just don’t tell Mapi cause she’ll never let you hear the end of it.” You gave her a short kiss before grabbing her hand again, this time taking the lead yourself and successfully making your way back to the car.

Overall NATLA Thoughts
Okay, now that I've watched the series, I can give my thoughts.
Overall, I thought it was good!!! I had fun watching it! I'd rate it a solid 6.5/10. It's nowhere as good as the original, but it was definitely enjoyable and made some nice changes here and there that I liked. There were also some things I was also Not a fan of too.
I said in another post that it's best to treat this like an AU of the original. There will things that are great and things that are bad. That's the nature of adapting something.
Having said that, I need to get my initial thoughts off my chest... here we go.
Things I thought were good:
Sokka's characterisation - I really enjoyed him! I thought Ian did a good job! He played the funny moments well and retained the underlying seriousness/cautiousness. It wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed the changes a lot and think it was overall a solid performance.
Zuko's characterisation - Like Sokka, I do think I was most satisfied with their performances. A lot of Zuko's moments from the cartoon are sometimes... well, cartoonish and definitely wouldn't translate to live action, but I think Dallas did a nice job at balancing Zuko's desperate anger and that occasional sassiness well.
Zuko and Iroh moments were great. Had me on the floor crying. As it should have.
The bending looks a trillion times better than the movie - I understand it would not have been easy for the actors but, overall, I was very happy about it.
The scenery was stunning. It just looked so beautiful. I loved it so much.
Absolutely ADORE that they made Zuko a good calligrapher and artist. I read a fic about a million years ago where Zuko is a fantastic calligrapher and I thought it was perfect and made so much sense, and now I can say it's canon. This is perfect for me.
S U K I
The Freedom Fighters were ✨ perfect
They were so real for making Oma and Shu lesbians
Koh, Wan Shi Tong and Hei Bai looked fantastic, but I have more to say about all of them below, unfortunately.
I actually like the change they made that Katara is Aang's sole waterbending teacher.
Aang is not perfect, and needed more goofy scenes HOWEVER, I did like how they've had Aang's guilt more prominent in the story. The original didn't do a very good job with that, imo.
Zuko entering is breaking and entering era by breaking into an impenetrable Earth Kingdom prison is just perfect.
In Masks, I like how Aang and Zuko got a longer conversation - that was pretty cute.
I liked how they changed Yue a bit and got her out of the arranged marriage... how Yue saw Sokka in the Spirit World before meeting him in the real world.
Things I didn't like:
Far too much info-dumping/exposition. So much spelling things out. It was not as egregious as the movie, and I get there's a lot of information that needs to be conveyed well and quickly... but sometimes it really took me out of the show.
Why are Mai and Ty Lee here.... I was hoping the live action would give them a bit more depth (and they might as it goes forward!), but why put them in season 1 at all if they're just going to stand around???
Some odd changes - putting this as one point, but there are some bizarre changes that didn't make sense to me, as they did not benefit the story or deepen the characters. I have two main examples: a) making it so Aang didn't run away from home, and b) making it so Zuko actually fights Ozai in the Agni Kai.
Characterisation of Katara was Not Great. I don't think I got many hints of the reckless, compassionate, badass Katara until the end when she fights Pakku and rallies all the women together to fight (which happens off-screen). She was sweet and kind, but she just lacked the fire that OG Katara has.
Azula's characterisation - Azula is desperate to impress Ozai and so her character is just…. brewing with anger, frustration, desperation. I was SO excited to see the Azula we are introduced too… perpetually and irritatingly calm, calculating and ruthless. She's perfect, she's terrifying! She's literally the character of all time. But this Azula had more Zuko vibes? I don't think there's anything wrong with giving Azula more concrete motivation by wanting to impress Ozai and establishing that Ozai is abusive to both his kids, but I do think trying to do that right off the bat is a mistake.
WHY is Wan Shi Tong here. I love Wan Shi Tong, but like I said: Why Is He Here? Why could we not have his iconic, ominous as fuck introduction from The Library, and instead he's introduced in a random season 1 episode giving Aang Information(tm) about the Spirit World.
When Aang gave Koh the statue, and then he just takes it and immediately lets all the villages go, and neither of them even say anything, I actually laughed out loud. Like, I am so sorry, but what in the jesus fuck was that.
Speaking of Koh - I think Koh is better the less we know about him. Roku saying ~all Koh wants is a family like the rest of us~ just pissed me off?? I like my Koh the Face Stealer Terrifying and Unknowable, thank you.
NOTHING EVER REALLY HAPPENS WITH HEI BAI!!?? where's my precious spirit bear?? Like Aang never really does anything with him and the replacement Koh story is boring and it sucks.
Bumi.... sorry I just didn't vibe with him at all.
Things I can't decide on:
Fancy spirit knife to kill the moon spirit annoyed me a bit, but I guess they wanted to Kuruk something to work with and a little bit more interaction with Aang which I get but idk. I really flip/flop on this one.
I've been very on the fence about having Azula (and Ozai) being in the show in season 1 in general. I'm not sure if it benefited either of their characters.
Azula & Ozai's dynamic - Okay, so, I think they're trying to give Azula more depth, right? They're trying to establish what it was like for Azula to live with Ozai and that she's also (like Zuko) trying to desperately prove herself to him, but Ozai using Zuko's... achievements to do that just felt so weird. I get he's doing it to manipulate her, but that just felt so wrong when in canon it's very obvious that Ozai just didn't give a single fuck about Zuko. Ozai pits Azula against Zuko by saying he's a failure, he's a bad bender etc. Azula is born lucky, Zuko is lucky to be born - like, Ozai says that to Zuko's face. I don't know if I am communicating this point very well, but it just didn't seem right to me??
Zuko vs Zhao in the Siege of the North... I genuinely do not know how to feel about it! I didn't love it, I didn't hate it. I don't know how to feel about Zhao telling Zuko that his mission is a sham and that Azula is the prized one... It feels like it's saying the quiet part out loud? In the OG we all know that Ozai sending Zuko on that mission was an excuse to get rid of him, but we can work that out, no one actually says it. And then Iroh just fucking killing him/mortally wounding him instead of the Iconic scene where Zuko reaches out to save him despite everything Zhao has done to him, but Zhao's own pride gets in the way from letting him accept help from Zuko.
Zuko’s crew being the 41st is not necessarily a bad thing at all!!! But I do just want to say that in the original, the attack goes ahead, and presumably, those soldiers die. It’s horrible. Zuko’s sacrifice is in vain, and it was always going to be in vain because the Fire Nation as it stands would not allow Zuko's compassion to win. Ozai would not allow it. While not necessarily a bad choice (all the soldiers bowing to Zuko on the boat was so sweet I loved it!) but I think it does take away some of the horror of Zuko’s story (same as it does with making Zuko fight back in my opinion) because the whole point is that Zuko did the right thing - and he was punished for it, and those soldiers died anyway.
anyway...
Okay!! got that off my chest. I know I just had a big whine here, but I still had a lot of fun watching this show. I think some of the backlash is a bit over the top and unwarranted. It was never going to stand up to the original - and that's okay.
Enjoy it for what it is!

A petite girl was seen running out of the Palais Mermonia in the Court of Fontaine. As she took off running as far as her legs could take her.
-----------------FLASHBACK-----------------
"...Miss Furina, I do hope you know the prophecy will come sooner or later. Even if Fontaine hasn't experience any deleterious flooding.. yet.. We must act fast to ensure all our citizen are safe and won't live in fear. Who knows how long till they believe in those 'rumors'"
"I do know that! ...I promise I'm doing something useful to help everyone."
"I can clearly sense that you are hiding something from me. Please, just tell me what is it that you are covering up."
"I-I'm telling you! I'm not hiding anything. I am your archon, could you PLEASE stop doubting me?!"
...
-------------------------------------------------
'How much longer..'
pant pant pant
'So lonely..'
pant pant pant
'Please let this show end..'
THUD
The petite girl collided with the ground due to exhaustion. She began looking around, upon seeing no one, she felt a little relieved to see that no one had spotted her being in a mess from earlier.
..Well probably except for the Chief of Justice.
'..Way to go Furina, if he wasn't already suspicious of me, he definitely is now..'
As the girl slowly picked herself up from the ground and continued to wandered mindlessly, wanting to get her mind off things for a bit.
Furina strolled leisurely while admiring the scenery upon her. She usually doesn't have time to be curious and as carefree while playing the role of the archon.
'Where am I anyways? I've.. Never been out of the city before'
As Furina came across a sunny and bright view. Where the sun is beaming while waves crash into one another, accompanied by golden rocks.
Although it is an unfamiliar surrounding, Furina only felt comfort feeling the breeze of the atmosphere as she slowly trotted over to the sea.
'What is this place? I've never been here but it feels really easy to relax..'
As Furina slowly took in the sunlight and windy zephyr and sighed. If only she could adventure and explore the world even more..
Being lost in thought, the petite girl did not notice someone in the distance sneaking up behind her.
'..It's really hard being an ar-'
"BOO!"
"AHHH?!"
Furina out of instinct, quickly lifted her arms into a defensive pose to shield her from whatever is coming after her.
"Ahaha! You should've seen the look on your face."
As Furina slowly opened her eyes, she saw a unfamiliar [h/c] person with [e/c] eyes. Realising they were a fontainian, she immediately cleared her throat.
"What look? I was preparing to attack you, you're lucky I took the flight response or else I would've seriously injured you!"
Furina folded her arms looking really displeased with whoever scared her.
"Ahaha.. Sorry, you just looked a little bit depressed. Anyways, I'm [name], nice to meet you. Now, may I ask why such a beautiful lady was looking quite down?"
"B-beautiful?!"
"Mhm! I've heard my friends say that the hydro archon was really pretty. At this rate I might mistake you as them!"
[Name] looking quite content with their response, giving a close-eyed smile.
"Ahem! A-Anyways, to answer your question. I was simply dreading about my workload. I'm fine, don't worry about it."
"Oh really? Guess it isn't a big issue. I'm glad."
'They're glad? I'm just some stranger though, I'm not sure why they're that relieved..'
"So, how's the beach? Pretty relaxing huh? I usually come here after I run my errands."
"Oh.. So this is called a beach, I've never seen one my whole life until today. It really isn't that bad at all to spend a day off here."
Furina then turned her view back to the waves, wanting to treasure this moment before returning to her dull stage.
Suddenly Furina felt something. Only to turn to see [name] placing a rainbow flower in her hair.
"Eh?! What's up with the sudden flowers?! Forget that, how did you even get them?!"
"I did mention I run errands, and that is when I go flower hunting to find beautiful flowers to add to my garden. I decided to give this rainbow flower to you as a gift. It's fitting for a beauty like you~!"
"W-wha-"
"Also, just want to ask, do you work for the hydro archon? You called me a mortal, surely the hydro archon must've have cute colleauges!"
"..."
[Even-More-Fluff Ending] - Optional to read
"Do you not know who the hydro archon is?"
"..Not really, I live on the country side, but I do hear adventurers say that she is dazzling and charismatic. Although it fits into your description.. Surely I'm not talking to the hydro archon."
"...Yeah you're right, I'm not the hydro archon ahahaha! I-I'm her coworker. Yep, pleasure serving under her!"
'God damnit Furina! What are you doing?!'
'...'
'Maybe they are the person I can confide in.. However I know that's impossible, but it does feel nice to not need to put my guard up as high..'
[Bittersweet Ending: continuation of Even-More-Fluff Ending] - Optional to read
When Furina returned to her office in Palais Mermonia. She sat in her chair recounting her recent encounter with [name]. Hoping to see her again.
So she began having meetups with [name] more frequently. Of course, this caught onto Neuvilette's attention since Furina never leaves the city much. So he decided to follow her on one eventful day.
Only to see the archon with a mortal. He didn't know much about this other person that was with Furina so he decided to interrupt their conversation.
"Miss Furina?"
"Huh?! Neuvilette?! W-What are you doing here?"
"Well the hydro archon has been frequently leaving the city for quite a while so I wanted to check it out. Whose this other person you're with?"
"W-wait.. Furina?! You're the hydro archon?!"
[Name] stared in disbelief, immediately apologising for their rude behaviour towards her.
'Well there goes my identity.. Oh well it was pretty fun while it lasted."

What a hassle. First, everybody starts holding their stomachs in cramping pains and now you have disappeared into thin air? No announcement whatsoever, not even a note left to contemplate to either get you out of the mess you find yourself in for certain, or just leave you to your fate. Truly, it is all up to you now, for the doctor isn't well tempered with your sudden vanish.
"Where have you seen (Y/n)-ya last?" - "I saw her going to bed last night, but - that's about it.", disgruntled, the Surgeon's forehead wrinkles in irk after hearing Shachi's statement, shaking his head in disbelief. What are you on about at such unholy hours?
The evening before
Your kimono flows in the soft summer breeze, cherry blossom petals sway along the air's streams and invite you into your day dreams enticingly. Compared to other beautiful sceneries you ever experienced in your life, there is none that could compete to this picturesque paradise. The scent of sweet honey shoots up your nostrils as you tread closer to the upcoming village in the distance.
Passersby greet you with a kind smile, nodding at you and going about their days again, to your wonder. Usually, the closer a foreigner gets to the flower capital, the more the residents keep a distance, excluding you from Wano Kuni's mysteries. It is obvious, they are held at discrecy for a reason you cannot quite fathom at this point.
Penguin and Shachi come jogging from far behind, calling out to you: "(Y/n), wait for us!" Torn out of your bubble, with a warm hello you beckon them over. The two men stop beside you, completely out of breath. Did they attend a marathon or of sorts? Either they're completely out of shape, or the two knuckleheads took off starting from your current hiding spot, following you to the nearest civilization to grab some none affected food.
There's no better way to describe the situation than it being 'untimely' and 'discombobulated'. Everything you eat around these parts turns your stomachs upside down, giving you no choice than to rest and survive the emergency runs into the thicket. Fortunately, it didn't leave that strong of an impact on you. Bepo on the other hand might got struck a slightest bit harder, in comparison to the rest of the group, consisting of you, Law, Shachi and Penguin.
Dare you say, he's holding on to dear life. Your Captain constantly remains in his role as his Vice Commander's trusty doctor, always checking up after this baby's cries of agony, who frets of having a life threatening disease. You can recall Law's exact words: "Don't be ridiculous, Bepo. You only have the runs.", as you heard him huff in annoyance, you remember how he rolled his eyes after a sharp sigh and he added: "Didn't I tell you to keep your paws off the fish in the river?"
Irritation is beyond of how you feel about this current indescribable commotion. So, you made the decision to find the next best village around and seek out a vendor, no matter what kind of food he offers, you're in desperate need of nutrition. The group is suffering enough with gnawing hunger, and now you are challenged to cope with possible food poisoning? You are infuriated. Shachi gives you a strong pat on your back: "We kinda already suspected you'd be up and about to fetch some grub. Allow us to help you out!" - "Oh thank you, Shachi. Let's hope the people aren't prone to shoo strangers out of town."
Though you outted your thoughts with a hint of sarcasm, you are truly anxious about the idea of Wano Kuni's hostility towards, let's call it 'tourists'. Penguin reassures you with a thumbs up and grins over both ears in full trust. Something tells you, it won't be as easy as initially hoped for.
"Fresh fish!" - "Get your fruit and vegetables here!", the vendors call out to the people strolling along the markets, spread all over the colourful stalls. Carefully treading closer to one of the fruit stands you greet a chipper looking fellow, who gives you the brightest of smiles you ever came across. Even Shachi and Penguin are stunned by this display.
"Greetings strangers! Are you interested in buying some of my famous apples or peaches?", after giving him a shy wave with your hand, you order a basket, full with ten vibrant red apples. They appear to be edible. "That will be fifty Berry, miss." - "Th-That's quite expensive.", you utter in awe and place the currency onto the vendor's stall table.
Again, you witness this man's radiant grin and he explains: "Times are rough these days, but trust me, you won't find any better fruit than here!" Convincing. With the basket of apples in hands, you head towards the forest, out of the village. An old lady, who waited in line behind you is now up and asks for the same like you ordered. You hear the vendor chime happily: "As always, ten Berry please, kind Alva." - "Of course Sagishi. Here you go. Greet your mother for me, will you dearie."
Hold on. Ten Berry for the same amount? Something's off. You turn around to take a peek at the scene, before making any false accusations. Well, will you look at that, it seems you heard correctly. The old lady wanders off into the distance with her neatly weaved basket filled with the red and shiny fruit. Perhaps she earned a discount on them?
The sheer amout of 'cheesy' almost lets you shrink away in your geta sandals. If you wouldn't know any better, it was close to a badly written commerical. Your two crew mates call you over, already far up ahead: "(Y/n) come on! The Captain and Bepo are waiting!" - "Coming!"
Back at the hiding spot, a sour after taste lingers on your tongue and your face scrunches in itself, leaving you utterly alarmed and fuming in anger. "I knew there was something fishy about this guy! God fu-" - "Watch your language, (Y/n)-ya. It was predictable that they won't be generous to strangers.", your cheeks light up in all shades of red in pure rage and pout to your Captain's calm clarification. His stern face leans in your direction, sending off an aggravating vibe, practically shutting you up with a deft 'Told you so'.
Oh the vendors do sell their goods to foreigners, but for an unmentionable high price and outrageous quality - the fruit were infected!
You have had it.
The present day
At the break of dawn, Law, the two knuckleheads and even poor and completely drained Bepo walk the path to the village you visited yesterday. It's not just you, who's fed up with this, to not put it lightly, bullshit. With Kikoku leaned on his shoulder, the doctor leads the group, always glancing back to reassure, that everybody is secured. This is not what he hoped for in spending his time like this. What the hell is going on with everyone, he asks himself.
Shachi and Penguin begin to bicker about who should have seen you firsthand. Through gritted teeth, Law growls at them: "Quit your arguing, there's no reason to quarrel about this. We must find her!" Both of the men straighten at alert and give their Captain an obeying 'Aye'.
The polar bear rumbles absentmindendly: "You should've paid closer attention you guys." Regarding that topic, there again, the Captain has to break it down. Piercing steel eyes wander over to the mink. "Says the one who mindlessly dug in at the river buffet. With all due respect, you're not a tiny bit better than them, Bepo.", those words hurt the now drooping in shame Vice Commander, ears flattened and black beady eyes watering up, muttering a deep 'I'm sorry'.
Taken aback by the sudden change of character, Shachi and Penguin visibly cringe away from Bepo going besides them, yelping in a loud exclaim: "So weak!" To this wack bustle, Law only furrows his brows and booms in a sharp tone: "Shut up already! We're almost there." Tension is written all over him.
Frozen in place, the three dorks see how their Captain keeps on walking, not once granting a single look back at them. Things are getting out of hand far too quickly for the Surgeon's tastes. And of course you had to make a run for it and worsen the situation, more than it already was. Stormy grey eyes roll to that thought and a raspy voice whispers: "What a nuisance." When will Law ever enjoy some peace and quiet again? A question often asked.
Arriving at the village, the four men no longer squander their time with banters and bickering, for their Captain simply won't allow it, enhancing the word simply, though the supernova threatend his own crew mates to assign double shifts for the infamous kitchen duty. Nobody wants that.
Suddenly, a crash of glas forces the group to turn their heads to the source of commotion. Oddly satisfied, given the fact, that the vendors in these parts are wildly known for their insidiousness, the doctor smirks: "Guess someone just demolished a windo-" Interrupting him mid-sentence, an unexpected blast of apparently wooden walls lets the ground shake beneath his feet. He corrects: "A building."
A sinister chuckle escapes from the white hatted man, for he utters a low 'idiot' through his curled lips. However, Shachi indicates the ruckucks is coming from the markets. Oh dear.
Thus the red head leads the way, dashing through the now busy streets, for people flee from the dangers, hiding behind the tall buildings, blocking the group's vision. "Almost there!", Shachi huffs out of breath and comes to a stop after an almost two hundred meter sprint.
All the colourful stalls and stands have been crushed to dust and even a few surrounding houses have been taken out upon, by none other - than you. There you stand, your fist clenched around the vendor's hem of his collar, viciously snarling at the terrified man: "Give me the fresh food and I might spare your life!" What a remarkable ambition.
Nearly losing his own poise, Law groans exasperatedly: "Oh fuck, that's my idiot-" You are in for it, big time, (Y/n). Completely baffled, the other three men accompanying him, sweat drop to their Captain's slip, coming to a conclusion that he's lost it entirely and this situation seems to be more dire than firstly assumed.
Before you can land another blow on an innocent nearby cottage, you feel the world shift around you and land in the arms of your Captain. Or rather, he scruffs you by your neck collar, as if you're a disobedient kitten, lifting you off the ground. So this is what it's like to stare death in the face? Shamefully you greet Law by waving a hand, smiling in attempted innocence: "Oh hi there. I-" - "You must be joking, right?"
You can see the doctor's vein starting to get distinctively visible on his temple. He's about to blow. Is there any chance of escape for you anyway? Might as well admit your defeat, while you gaze into the man's white hot stare, who will be the end of you, one day for certain. Therefore you owe him an explanation, in hopes he will show mercy on you.
"Please tell me this is a bad joke!", he barks at foolish little you, hanging in there, curled up in his strong hold. Thus you resolve the fatuous action, confessing your reasoning, though it goes without saying this won't justify anything. A side of Law knows you only meant the best for the crew, flattered by your loyalty, astounded by your kind heart.
Seeing your sweet doe eyes flutter at him for forgiveness, it becomes greatly difficult for him to scold you further. In the end - he gives in. "Don't think I'll spare you so easily. When we're done here, I'll make sure you will get to face the consequences for your actions, (Y/n)-ya.", he grunts and puts you back on the ground.
The vendor approaches the Surgeon and flings his hands over his head in dismay, complaining about you being an 'assault happy' witch. Oh, he didn't just say that. To hear that coming from a fraud like him, lets Law's neck hair stand on end and his expression darkens. The crave for destruction now surges over his skin, hand itching to call forth his 'Room' and entertain himself with the debris and rubble of the buildings, which lay in literal shambles.
"Is this blasted woman with you?!" - "Indeed, she's with me. I'm with stupid over here.", you feel his squinting eyes fixated on you. It animates a shiver, emitting from your spine. The vendor curses and throws evil words your way, to which the Captain does not respond to well. Not at all. Lifting up the sleeves of his kimono, he intends to show his tattoos, signalising the man who he's actually dealing with.
People around here aren't that much up to date, though the Surgeon of Death's wanted posters are wildly spread across the country. And his tribal ink on his hands and arms are most memorable, besides his hat and intimidating weapon on his shoulder of course.
DEATH, immediately catches the vendor's attention, leaving him a stuttering mess, shaking in his clunky wooden sandals. He definitely recognised the powerhouse standing infront of him. How Law enjoys such affected reaction, fully aware of what an impact he has on commoners, he chuckles mischieviously: "Better treat your customers right next time, be it resident or foreigner. You never know who you might - dissappoint."
Air twirls underneath his loosend palm and a cold blue hue expands subsequently, covering a large area and engulfing the shattered houses in the formed globe. In a single swift move, his index finger points upwards, every stone, every wooden plank and pillar follows his command and gather in one giant chaotic mass. "So do tell, who I am having the honour of doing business with?" - "Sa-Sagishi, Sir! P-Please be c-careful where you . . i-it was a prank! I swear!"
The enormous cluster of debris threateningly sways over the last standing stall, it's Sagishi's. "NO! By the gods I beg you!", he runs to the stand and snatches a basket with apples away and dodges the incoming missile, clashing onto the ground with an ear drum bursting boom, the earth reverberating in response.
Dust whirls up from the impact, restricting your vision for a moment, for it lingers like cold fog, wafting over the sandy streets. The picture revealing before you is something you deem as priceless. Sagishi toppled on his behind, watching how his 'oh so beloved' stall has been demolished and buried beneath tons of raw materials.
"Curse you pirates! Go rot in hell!", is what you hear the whimpering scammer sob, as he glares at you and the supernova, who smirks over both ears. What about laying low, Trafalgar?
He exxageratedly tips his hat to him in a deft bow and ends the show with an assertive and sassy comment: "Glad doing business with you, kind Sir. Have a pleasant day." Motioning you to follow him, he turns on his heels and leads the way. In the background, you still can hear the crushed man, crying ugly tears.
You look up at the Captain, stars practically sparkling in your eyes and your lips curl into a feline manner, dumbfounded by his 'not-so-discreet' act just now. "Don't look at me like that. You made me do this.", he groans, scratching the back of his neck in slight fluster.
By the by, Bepo questions, what you are about to do now. There's no food left for you. Law stops in his tracks and leans down to grab a random stone. 'Shambles' is the word that does the Surgeon's bidding and the stone has been swapped with . . the basket full with mouth watering red apples! Another set of bad wishes and curses resound from afar behind you, making you giggle cheekily.
The group has been blessed. This man never ceases to amaze you. His abilities are beyond comprehension and comes in handy on so many occassions. Taking a big bite out of the luscious fruit, you hum in delight: "They're delicious! You can tell they're fresh!" - "And not infected!" Penguin and Shachi do a little gleeful dance and Bepo happily munches down the sweet crunch.
Showing your gratitude towards the generous doctor, you give him a nudge with your elbow and he only shakes his head as an answer: "No need. You better thank me for not beheading you right this instant I saw you making a fuzz at the markets!" - "Bold for a man to say, who full on intendedly destroyed those markets with an humongous make shift boulder? I think you're slowly but surely warming up to me, Captain." The others agree to your preposterous statement, Law's eye twitches.
"Not if I'm with a stupid idiot like you are right now! You-", laughter hinders him from finishing his sentence and you inch closer to the aloof white hat, now walking side by side, shoulder to shoulder. You prod playfully: "I hate to break it to you, but I'm with stupid just as much as you. You're not a tiniest bit better than me." To Law's unfortune, his blush is way past of saving.
Where did the now facepalming man hear that before? Everybody digs in and literally inhales the crisp goodness, beaming with joy. "I'm surrounded by idiots.", he rasps through his clenched jaw.
You are one of a kind. Truly, you are his idiot. And no one except him, has the privilege to call you that. A small smile proving his heart's little secret.

Wow I finally watched Monsters at Work (S2)
**Minor Spoilers**
This show is Joy. This show is happiness.
This show is pure enjoyment, forget-about-the-world-around-you fun and indulging in a world full of adventures, Jokes and references to an original movie we hold dear to our hearts, While paving the way for a beautiful new story about a dynamic duo changing the colour of their world and the human world one child at a time.
I think there was a lot of risk, As with any sequel / spin off, of repetitiveness and overall the continuation of the story just not doing well.
But Monsters at Work was perfect.
(In my eyes - You do not have to agree with me, I just want to show my appreciation and love for this show and Story)
This show provided more of the future we've all been so curious about since the end of Monsters Inc (We all knew things worked out with Laugh Power - But did it really?) (Yes, Yes it did.) and the changes it made to the city and their communities as a whole - The politics, The power company's rivalry's, How people feel about laugh power, All of our favourite characters, All of our most disliked characters and so so much more.
They balanced giving a nod to the past, Making references to those original movies between og characters as if they're inside jokes (Which I guess, they are), Seeing characters we love and adore, Seeing scenery that is comforting and familiar, Even items (BOO'S DRAWING ON SULLEY'S DESK - I'M NOT OKAY-) without it being in your face and making it the whole show. Mike and Sulley being a part of the future of this company and caring for their little misfits, without overbearing and letting these new characters shine and share their own stories - It was perfectly balanced.
I love what this show represented as well - Different cultures and races in the human world and monster world, Different couples / sexualities without making it a big fuss (They're just in a happy relationship - That's what matters!), Healthy relationships and really great traits like embracing who you are, Always stand up for what you believe in, Never hesitate to show your Love for the things and people you care about and so much more!
Something I also loved is the representation of the real and healthy relationship between Val and Tylor - And the fact this didn't turn into a romantic relationship.
The first season was about building the foundations of their friendship and really getting to know each other - The second season really tested their friendship and saw to how they would get through these rocky times together.
While there were some moments of heartbreak, sadness and even anger - With communication, Responsibility and ackowledging what they had done, They got through it and came out the other side of it with their bond even stronger than ever! Which I think is something super healthy and important to represent.
And while I see there are a few hints here and there that could definitely lead to a Third season, Which halfway through episode 10 I literally said I would sell my soul for a third season, Once I had finished that final episode, My mind had changed.
The ending of Season 2 was perfect.
It was happy. It was fulfilling. And while I'd be one of the first to hop on Disney plus if a Third season did come out - I feel like they could stop the show here if they wanted to.
I could watch this show forever and ever and ever if I could, But we've all seen what happens when a show continues simply for profit etc. and it loses what that original story is about.
But on the other hand, they have a whole world of Monsters stories and cities to explore that we've only scratched the surface of.
And you never know what might be coming in the future.
All in all, I absolutely adored this show with all my heart and soul and I will forever talk about how perfect (in my personal opinion) it is.
Also there will forever be some references that will never get old.
Example A: Mike getting covered by logo / barcode etc
Example B: Roz (Period. She has so many good ones)
Example C: Boo. (Anything really, I just love their relationship)
100000000000000000000000000000000000000 x infinity / 10
I love you Monsters Inc world. Thank you for making me feel protected and Loved, Even if I couldn't be apart of your world.
And don't forget, This show wasn't made just for kids.
Oh no.
It was made for those Monsters Inc kids, now all grown up.
(And for everyone and anyone!)

Smol Brainstorm: Would You Stay With Me In Korea?
Tumblr media
Author's Note: Anotha smol oneshot/brainstorm. I found this in the old documents. This will take place in BTS Bon Voyage Season 3! The scene where the cute little boy went up to Jungkook and shook his hand. When I saw the scene this idea popped into my head and I wrote about it. It made me think of Jungkook wondering about the future with him and Jennie. Wondering if she'd stay with him in Korea and marry him one day.
I may add onto this when I officially get to this chapter but enjoy the cheese! (I still have yet to watch Season 3 but when I get to the chapter, I will! Val got a lot to cover lol.)
-----
Looking at his phone while holding her hand, Jungkook tried to figure out where they were supposed to be going. Meanwhile, Jennie happily observed the scenery of Malta in the evening as the camera crew followed them. The couple had gotten so used to the cameras filming their moments together that it was like they didn't even notice anymore.
“Okay, I feel like we’ve been walking in circles. You sure you know where we’re going? I can always just look at the phone.” she suggested.
“I got it…I think.” he stopped walking and released her hand, scrolling through the map.
Laughing, she took his phone to figure out what the problem was. Periodically, she glanced at her surroundings while he stood next to her, watching what she was doing.
“This isn’t the right way,” she confirmed.
“What?” he whined. “How?”
“Kookie, just admit that you got us lost and you got too confident.”
“I-I was not!”
“That whole I’m the Golden Maknae speech from earlier is kinda funny now after finding out you were taking us the wrong way.”
“Or I did it on purpose so we can spend more time alone before we have to meet up with the rest of the hyungs,” he admitted.
“Which I enjoyed! But you could have just told me.” she playfully bumped into him while a bright smile came across his face.
Once he received his phone back, he then noticed a figure running their way and turned, looking down to see a little black boy staring at them curiously. Jennie glanced at her boyfriend, about to ask what he was looking at but then saw the kid. The boy was smiling at them and it made her heart flutter when Jungkook stuck out his hand for him to shake. After the child cutely ran off, looking back at them occasionally, Jungkook laughed softly and said that the boy was cute.
Before Jennie could comment on how adorable of a scene she had witnessed, Jungkook spoke up, again.
“Ah…I bet our kids will be just as cute as him.” he thought out loud.
Her heart began to race at his statement while Jungkook looked shooked when he realized he blurted it out loud. The camera crew filming them thought it was adorable while she looked down shyly with her face on fire.
Did he really mean that?
And just when she was about to reply, the little boy and his parents approached the couple and greeted them, introducing themselves.
Jennie gushed over how adorable the boy was and was able to see his cute smile up close and personal. She gave him a hug when she kneeled to his level and enjoyed his adorable answers to her questions as she asked him if he was enjoying himself and what he did for fun, today.
“Are you from here?” The mom asked once Jennie stood up.
“No, ma’am, my boyfriend and I are vacationing with our friends. It’s a beautiful place.”
“Wow, how long have you two been dating?”
“A couple of years, now.” she proudly said with a smile.
“Ah, young love. You remind me of my husband and I during our college years. Well, I hope for many more years to come. With the way you are with our son, I can see you’re good with children.”
“Me? You think so?”
“Yes, indeed. I bet you will be a great mom, one day.”
“Really? Wow, thank you. I hope so, too.” she grinned and laughed cutely, making Jungkook smile. “How long have you two been married?”
“We are actually celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary.”
“Wow, 12 years? What a blessing! I am so happy for you.”
“Thank you, sweetheart. This man drives me off the wall sometimes but I love him.”
After a nice conversation with the family and saying goodbye, Jungkook walked with Jennie to their destination.
“Me as a mom? I get so nervous when someone brings something like that up. Do you really think I’ll be a good parent?” she started to ramble.
“I thought about it, actually,”
That took her by surprise but she thought he was joking and playfully hit him in response.
“Don’t joke like that!”
“Who said I was, Mrs. Jeon?” he giggled, looking at her lovingly while her heart skipped a beat.
“Stop playing with me.”
Kissing the top of her head, he wrapped an arm around her as they continued to walk.
He thought about it often. The thought of marrying her and having children with her in the future. He couldn't see himself with anyone else but her. These years of being together have been filled with amazing memories and he couldn't wait to create more with her.
For a while, he had started thinking that she was the one whom he wanted to settle down with. But he wondered if she would want to permanently be with him in Korea. Would she leave America and live with him in Korea?
With his mind deep in thought, he decided to ask what was on his mind as he removed his arm from her and continued holding her hand.
“Jagi?”
“Yes?”
With butterflies in his stomach, as he thought about the future with her, he asked softly, “Would you...would you want to stay in Korea with me?”
Jennie stopped walking which made him stop, too as she made him face her. Standing on her toes, she grabbed onto his shirt and pulled him close for a sweet kiss as he held her in his arms.
Pulling away, she smiled. “Yes, I would.”

They’ve stopped at tons of different planets in their time in space, but none so many as on their long, long trip home. Desert planets, jungle planets (a lot of those, actually) sprawling urban planets, you name it. They’ve seen ‘em all, and they’re all cool in their own ways.
Tonight’s planet, though, is particularly spectacular. It’s essentially a giant evergreen forest, and the locals all live in quiet cabins and huts. The very air is green and fresh, and it’s wonderful.
Keith’s biased, of course. He’s always been fond of forests, ever since he was a baby — his Pa regularly took him to the giant ones in east Texas, where the only thing you saw for miles was pine trees and dirt. He’s always found the scenery beautiful, and camping is always fun. (Even if that’s the only way they’ve been living for months. Poor Hunk is at his wit’s end, as are Allura and Shiro, but Keith could live like this the rest of his life and be happy.
Well, maybe not the rest of his life. His back certainly misses mattresses, that’s for sure.)
“Earth to loverboy.” A dark hand waves in front of his face, shaking him from his thoughts and back to the present, where he’s gathering firewood with Allura.
“That doesn’t even make sense. We’re not on Earth. Who taught you that?”
She shrugs. “Pidge and Shiro have been updating me on Terran slang so I blend in once we get there.”
“I wouldn’t trust them as a reliable source of information,” Keith says, snorting. He adjusts the stack of firewood in his arms. “Pidge enjoys lying for her own amusement, and when I was a kid, Shiro had this can of dried beans and every time I misbehaved he took one bean out. He told me that once the can was empty, the world would end. So I’m not saying that they’re intentionally misleading you, but, you know. Not sure I’d take them at their word.”
There’s a long stretch of silence between them. After several minutes, Allura adjusts her own stack of wood (which is, technically, several full-sized logs for them to sit on) and looks at him solemnly.
“Everything about your childhood is confusing,” she says. “But at the same time, explains so much about you as a person.”
Keith nods. He really can’t argue with that, as he was raised first by one (1) hermit monsterfucker and then two (2) gay losers.
“That’s fair.”
They chat idly as they make their way back. They’re the first to arrive to the campground, so they start setting up as everyone else starts trickling back in.
Pidge arrives next, face buried in her holopad. She throws a bag of freshly washed laundry at Keith’s head, snickers to herself, and then scampers back to her lion before Keith can grab her and throw her into a stream, like she deserves. (Allura also points and laughs at him, but Allura could beat him up blindfolded and with one working limb, so he’s long since accepted his fate on that front.)
Coran and Krolia aren’t far behind, completely wrapped up in their conversation about the rare medicinal ingredients in this quadrant. Next is Shiro and Romelle, carrying a massive bucket of water between them. (Well, it’s mostly Romelle and her Altean superstrength, but Shiro is Doing His Best, so.)
“Anyone seen Lance and Hunk?” Keith asks, once he’s gotten the fire going and Pidge has deemed it safe to emerge from her lion. (Fool choice, that, but Keith will wait until she least expects it.)
“You know Lance,” Shiro says. “Hunk too, honestly. We sent our two biggest nerds — besides you, Pidge — on what amounts to a nature walk. They’re going to stop to ogle at any bug and critter they see. Let’s just hope they actually remember to get us food.”
“We’re here! We’re here! Sorry we’re late!”
“Speak of the devil,” Pidge says with a grin. “Or, both of them, I guess. I’m fucking starving.”
“Sorry, we got distracted,” Hunk explains, hurriedly putting a pot over the fire and dumping in some ingredients. Lance speedwalks over to the pot of water Romelle brought to add some of that.
“Hold it,” Allura says, making Lance freeze. “You’re walking different. Explain yourself.”
Lance turns back to face her, hands behind his back and expression the picture of innocence.
“Dunno what you’re talking about,” he says, very obviously full of shit. Keith narrows his eyes, trying along with everyone else to figure out what changed. It’s not his hair — it’s gotten a little longer and curlier since they left Earth, but nothing drastic. He’s wearing his regular baseball tee and jeans. His eyes are as mischievous as ever.
But wait a second. Is that —
“Did you get your ears pierced?” Keith asks, and Lance beams.
“No!” he says with a lot of enthusiasm. Keith blinks. That’s — that’s a confusing mesh of a response, there.
“Huh?”
“Tone doesn’t match what your saying, buddy,” Hunk supplies helpfully.
Lance is undeterred, but pats Hunk’s head in acknowledgment. “I’ve had my ears pierced for years! Couldn’t wear earrings in the Garrison, though, so I wasn’t wearing any when we went to space. But when Hunk and I were looking around for mushrooms and stuff, and I saw something cool in a tree so I climbed it to get it and it turns out it was this phial for a potion that this cool witch lost to a bird —”
“Cool witch?” Romelle mumbles, but Lance doesn’t hear her.
“— and she was so grateful that she wanted to give us a gift, and Hunk and I said she didn’t need to repay us, obviously, but she insisted and gave Hunk a cool bracelet —” Hunk dutifully holds up his wrist, showing off a pretty leather band with several ornate stone beads — “and me these beautiful little gold hoops! Aren’t they awesome?”
“They look dope as hell, dude,” Pidge says, uncharacteristically earnest, making Lance grin sunnily at her.
Everyone else offers their compliments, but Keith is — he’s struck. Without his permission, his brain is thrown back to his nine year old self, with a flashlight and an old, worn copy of collection of Greek myths under the blankets of his bunk bed in the group home. He remembers reading about the hearth goddess Hestia, and how all the gods loved her so deeply and desperately that they were ready to tear apart the universe to earn her hand. How she choose to remain an eternal maiden to avoid a civil war. He remembers rolling his eyes, wondering what was so good about a goddess of the hearth that made gods fall to their knees before her.
He looks at Lance, at how the warm glow of the flames sends dancing shadows over his face. His eyes — deep and dark and endlessly, endlessly brown — reflect the soft burn of the fire, and his new earrings gleam.
And suddenly he understands.
“I like your earrings.”
The words are nearly a rasp, barely escaping the dryness of his throat. He’s — he’s breathless, in shock. The feelings he has for Lance aren’t new, exactly, but in the warmth of the campfire and the quiet of the forest, the intensity of them nearly bowls him over.
Lance smiles, shy.
“I haven’t worn them in a while. I’m excited about them, but I — I wasn’t sure if they were right for me anymore.”
“They suit you. You look — you look really nice, Lance. I mean, you always do, but — you get it.”
Lance laughs softly. His cheeks are red. Keith wonders if it’s from the heat of the fire, or something else.
“Yeah? You think so?”
“‘Course I do,” Keith says, grinning. “You know it, too. Now you’re just fishin’ for compliments.”
“Am not.”
“Are too.”
“Am —”
“Alrighty there, Romeo and Juliet,” Hunk says drily. “Dinner’s ready, although I’m not sure I have the stomach for it after seeing that.”
Well, Keith sure as shit knows what Lance’s blush is from now. He’s got one that matches.
“Thank you for the food, Hunk,” Keith says, loud and telling. Lance laughs along with everyone else, even though they’re the butt of the joke. The conversation moves on quickly, warm stew and good company making everyone loose and jovial — even though a good amount of that joy comes from teasing Keith and Lance as often as possible.
Keith shakes his head, grinning. He looks at Lance, who’s happily teasing Allura right back about all the goo-goo eyes she makes at Romelle, and feels something warm settle in his chest. Despite all the teasing and nosy comments, he’s happier than he’s ever been.
He thinks that nine-year-old Keith, quiet and sullen, sure that love was stupid, would be so happy to see how things have changed.

Summary: Billy takes you away for the weekend, invites your friends to come along, has elaborate plans for you but the snowstorm is throwing a wrench into his plan.
A/N: They’re baaaaaack! Frank and Ginger have come along for the ride on this one. If you’re new to the world of these two, you can read how they first started getting on each others nerves in Happy Birthday part ONE and TWO, and how they continued to drive each other nuts in GAME ON. This is also part of a writing challenge that my lovelies from the Thirsty For Cox server decided to do for the month of December, the prompt was Snowed In. I hope you enjoy this and check out everyone else’s also.
As always, thank you for reading!  I appreciate it so much and comments, reblogs are welcome and encouraged. Don’t be shy to tell me your favorite part. 💕💕 💕
“Where are we going, Billy?” You asked your boyfriend as you sat in the passenger’s seat of the car, staring at his handsome profile, and Billy grinning from ear to ear.
“It’s a surprise, sweet girl. It will be fun though. Frank and Maria are coming and I invited Ginger and her boyfriend to come too.” He said, adjusting the heat in the car while you turned to look out the window as flurries fell from the sky.
All the signs you passed on the highway said he was headed north, and earlier in the week he told you to pack warm winter clothes but also pack the new dress he bought for you because he was taking you to a very nice dinner on Saturday. Obviously, he was taking you away for the weekend but there was something different about this getaway, Billy didn’t normally invite others to come along, he always loved having you all to himself, so what was he up to?
“You invited everyone to come along? You’re up to something Mr. Russo, I know it.” You said with narrow eyes and a straight expression.
He glanced at you with a sly smile and said “It’s gonna be a good weekend, baby. I promise, and they’re not comin’ until tomorrow so we have the place to ourselves tonight.” Keeping his eyes on the road, Billy brought your hand up to his lips to kiss it and there was a rush of warmth through your entire body.
“Do you wanna place a bet on how many arguments Frank and Ginger are going to get into?” You started to laugh and he did too, it was definitely going to be an interesting weekend with those two involved.
After riding in the car for a handful of hours, you saw the sign on the side of the highway—Welcome to Vermont, The Green Mountain State. The snow falling was a little heavier now and the scenery was absolutely beautiful, even on the highway. Blankets of white covered the tree tops on either side of you, the soft glow of the moon which was just starting to rise up over the trees, bounced off of the freshly fallen snow which shined brightly like little diamonds sprinkled everywhere as far as the eye could see.
You slowly turned from the car window to look at your boyfriend, he was glancing down every so often at the GPS on his phone, carefully making sure he was going the right way. The man spoiled you every chance he had, always taking you away to some of the most beautiful places in the world but he hardly ever took the time to look around because he was too busy looking at you.
The St. Regis in Bora Bora was gorgeous, your own little private hut on the clearest bluest water you’ve ever seen, glass windows on the floor so you could see the fish swimming underneath you. Your jaw dropped to the floor at how beautiful it all was and every time you told him to look at something or “did you see that?” He always responded the same way while gazing at you “I’ll see it later, sweet girl.”
Or the time he took you away to Lake Tahoe, the mountains, the hot springs, all of it was breathtaking. You both turned your phones off for the entire week and he wanted nothing more than to just see your reaction to the scenery around you.
Every morning, Billy would watch you drink your coffee out on the deck. You were looking out at the snow covered mountains and breathing in the crisp clean air, you could feel he was there and after watching you for a few minutes, he would join you outside. “Hey there, handsome. It’s beautiful out here isn’t it?”
Billy wrapped his free hand around your waist, he pulled you in close, kissed you on the top of your head, still only looking at you and he said “Yes it is.”
“You’re not even looking, Billy.” You said with a smile.
He leaned down to kiss you and whispered in your ear. “Yes I am.”
You would just roll your eyes at him, smile, and kiss him back, you loved him so much.
************************************************
“I love you.” You told him, gently brushing his beard with your fingers. If he wasn’t driving, he would have turned to look at you.
Keeping his eyes on the road but stealing a quick glance, he responded “I love you too, baby. I love you too.”
The exit he took said Dover and he kept driving until he pulled up to a timber frame contemporary cabin, surrounded by trees. It was very private and extremely beautiful and you couldn’t wait to get out and look around.
Billy parked the car, you bit down on your bottom lip as you unclipped your seatbelt with a glow of excitement in your eyes.
“Go on, my love. I know you wanna go look around. I’ve got the bags.” He said with a warm smile.
You put on your winter hat and gloves then took off to explore the outside of the house. Looking up, you saw the wrap around deck that was attached to the back of the house, there was a path that led down to the fire pit and overlooked a stream.
You couldn’t believe you were going to be staying here for the next three days. The hot tub faced the woods, the two of you would make good use of that later and you walked around the entire house one more time before walking up the back steps onto the deck.
Billy was standing at the kitchen counter, his back towards you and you could see he was holding something but you couldn’t see what it was. You tapped lightly on the glass, he put whatever it was in his jacket pocket and walked towards the door to let you in.
“Well? What did you find out there, beautiful?” He asked.
You started to untie your snow boots. “Billy, this place is gorgeous! I found the path that leads down to the fire pit and the stream, it’s so beautiful.” You finally got both boots off and set them by the door. “And then I found the hot tub, I thought maybe we could—“
Cutting you off mid-sentence, he pulled you in close and brushed his thumb against your cheek, which was a little cold and flushed from being outside. His rich dark eyes looked down at you before pressing his lips firmly against yours, they tasted a little like coffee with just a hint of sugar and he started to unzip your jacket.
“Billy Russo, we JUST got here!” You said, playfully pushing him away from you. “Can I look around inside before you attack me with your lips again?” You asked.
Billy rolled his eyes and in a joking manner, he said “Ok, but look fast because I can’t promise I can stay away from you for too long.” He said with a wink.
Starting in the kitchen, the counter tops were marble, there was a breakfast bar in the middle and all of the appliances were stainless steel. The dining room off of the kitchen had a large wooden table with a chandelier overhead. The main living area had soaring cathedral ceilings, beautiful natural woodwork, a stone gas fireplace and natural wood floors.
The master bedroom was upstairs and two more bedrooms were downstairs. There was also another common room area with a double queen bunk bed. Both living areas had tvs and plenty of board games.
You stopped in the doorway of the master bedroom, Billy had already put all of your bags inside and you felt him sneak up behind you. He snaked his arms around your waist from behind and started kissing your neck. Oh god, you loved it when he did that. You closed your eyes and just let it happen, he peppered kisses up and down the sides of your neck as your coat dropped to the floor.
Turning to face him, his eyes weren’t focused on anything else but you. “Billy, you’re staring at me like you haven’t seen me in a week.” You said to him with a slight smile.
He gently pulled at the hem of your sweater. “It was a long car ride, baby.”
You knew that look of his very well, even though he kept his hand on you basically the entire ride, it wasn’t enough for Billy. He needed you, what he had said a few minutes ago was true, he couldn’t be away from you for too long because he knew that as quickly as he got something, it could be taken from him just as fast.
No matter how many times you reassured him you weren’t going anywhere, that you loved him, and wanted to be with him always, he kept you close and tight to his chest. You were everything to him.
“I know, handsome…I know.” You whispered in his ear and nervously touched the fabric of his thermal Henley shirt.
Billy’s gaze roamed over your body from head to toe, he studied you. He was always doing that, watching as to where your hands would touch him next. You thought it might be a reflex action leftover from being in the Marines, anticipating the enemy’s next move and even though you weren’t the enemy, his guesses were never wrong.
He always predicted your every move, it was hard to surprise him but you still tried to. Your hands moved from just below his chest to the hem of his dark green shirt, you went to pull it off but he beat you to it.
In one quick motion, his shirt was off and he made the sweater you were wearing disappear just as fast, revealing the silk camisole you had on underneath.
His lips collided with yours after watching your sweater fall at your feet and he parted your lips with his tongue, taking your breath away. He eagerly walked you backwards towards the bed, before climbing on top of you as your head gently hit the pillow.
His greedy hands slipped underneath the camisole so he could brush the soft skin on your stomach with his fingers, causing goosebumps to pepper across your body like it was the first time he’s ever touched you.
His caress did that to you every time whether he was being gentle with soft sweet kisses or ravaging your body like lion after a fresh kill, leaving love bites all over to remind you that you were his, you loved them both equally as much.
Before he kissed you again, you glanced at his scars, it was hard not to. Every time you did, you felt a little twinge in your heart, the dull pain in your chest always came back.
The two long scars on his shoulder from where his rotator cuff was torn, for some reason looked like they still caused him pain and considering how old they were, you thought they might have faded more than they have.
Billy was breathing heavily as you extended your arm to gently trace the two prominent scars on his shoulder with your fingers, he looked away when you did but still, he let you do it.
You said his name softly. “Billy?”
“Yes, sweet girl?” He tried to smile a little when he turned to answer you.
You looked up at him and peeked again at his scars. “Do they—?” You paused. “Do they still hurt?” You asked.
Billy slowly closed the gap between you, his handsome face inches away from you, his muscular body pressed firmly into yours, and the affection in his eyes eased the pain you felt for him.
With one of your legs wrapped around his thigh, you closed your eyes as he rested his forehead against yours, wishing with all your heart you could take all of his pain away, all of his suffering but he surprised you once again with his answer. “Not anymore, my love. Not anymore.” He said with a smile as he covered your body with his, concentrating on you and only you, silently thinking about what he had planned for this weekend, hoping…you would say yes.
*************************************************
Billy wasn’t next to you when you opened your eyes the next morning, he was so light on his feet that you never heard him leave the room or even close the door behind him. You must have been sleeping hard, between the hot tub and the wine, no wonder you passed right out last night.
When you opened the bedroom door, the aroma of coffee floated in the air and you could hear Billy in the kitchen doing something so you put your sweater on and made your way to where he was. He was putting away groceries, he must have had them delivered as he was still in his sweatpants and t-shirt.
“Good morning, beautiful. Sleep well?” He asked with his head peeking around the fridge door.
“Good morning, handsome. Yes I did.” You said as you walked towards him, biting down on your bottom lip and checking him out from head to toe.
Billy closed the door to the fridge and leaned forward to give you a kiss. “Coffee?” He asked.
“Yes please.” You answered and he handed you a mug of coffee just the way you like it.
“The others will be here in a few hours. Frankie called me a little while ago, Ginger is already making him nuts singing along to every song that comes on the radio.” You and Billy both started to laugh. “Ginger’s in the passenger’s seat, Frankie and Maria are in the back seat so she’s controlling the music.”
Trying to control your laughter, you said “I didn’t know they were all riding together, I can just see Frank leaping out of a moving car to get away from her. There might be three people in the car when they get here, not four. Could you hear her singing?”
Billy took a sip of his coffee. “Oh yep, I could definitely hear her. It was hard not to. 80’s hair metal, I believe.” He said with a sly grin.
Stepping outside on to the deck, you looked up at the overcast sky. The clouds were a bright silver color, the air was frigid and dry, and you could sense that it was going to snow. Wrapped up in your sweater, you took a sip of your coffee when Billy came up behind you and kissed you on the temple.
“It smells like snow.” You said softly with a smile.
Billy looked up at the sky. “It smells like snow? What do ya mean it smells like snow?” He asked with a slight chuckle.
“Exactly what I said, Billy. It smells like it’s gonna snow. Did you look at the forecast?” You asked him. “I’m usually not wrong about these things.” You let out a little laugh.
He gave you a concerned look. “Well no, I didn’t check it but—“ Billy took out his phone, opened his weather app and all of a sudden you watched all of the color drain from his face.
“Shit.” Billy gnashed his teeth, then tightly pressed his lips together and shook his head.
Well that can’t be good.
“This says the area is supposed to get between 2-3 FEET of snow starting early tomorrow morning, all day and into the evening.” He said angrily. “We’re all supposed to go out to dinner tomorrow night and we can’t do that with that much snow on the ground.”
You didn’t understand why Billy was so upset, the snow sounded so romantic and fun but you knew your boyfriend, and he was irritated that his plans were on the verge of being ruined so you tried to diffuse the situation. “Well maybe you can change the reservation from tomorrow night to tonight?”
His expression softened. “That’s a good idea, baby. I’ll be right back.” And he went inside to make a phone call. Why couldn’t he just do it out here, you wondered? There was always a method to Billy’s madness and you couldn’t tell him otherwise so you just left it alone.
He returned to the deck even more flustered than he was before and started pacing back and forth. “I can’t change it, they’re all booked up for tonight and they even said more than likely they won’t be open tomorrow.”
“Ok, then we’ll just have dinner here, Billy. We’ll get take out tonight and save the food you bought for tomorrow. It will be great.” You gently touched his shoulders to reassure him it was alright but he just leaned up against the railing and stayed silent, you weren’t even sure he was listening to you. “Well I’m going to go get ready for the day before everyone gets here, you comin’, handsome?”
Billy tried to smile but you could tell he was furious. “Yeah, I’ll be in in a minute, love.”
Once Billy got angry, it was very difficult to snap him out of it. He completely shut down when things don’t go as planned so walking away was sometimes your best option, you knew he’d get over it—at least you hoped he would.
*************************************************
After readying yourself for the day, you prepared drinks and little bites to eat for your guests, they should be arriving any minute. It was a little before noon when you thought you heard a car door close outside. You weren’t positive until you heard the familiar sounds of Frank and Ginger giving each other a hard time.
Looking down from the window in the front of the house, you heard Frank first. “Ya know Ginger, if you didn’t have such a tiny bladder, we could have been here an hour ago.”
“You’re the one who wanted to all ride together, Frank. So if you think about it, this is all your fault. We could have taken separate cars and you wouldn’t have had to deal with my tiny bladder…or my singing.”
You couldn’t stop giggling at your friends taking playful jabs at each other. Frank and Ginger’s friendship has been love/hate from the start. Ginger tortured Frank with karaoke at your birthday party a few years ago, then there was the time you put them on the same team for a friendly game of laser tag. They’re both very competitive and it was amusing to watch their banter back and forth.
They continued to argue about Ginger’s bladder all the way up the stairs, to the front door. Frank was just about to knock on the door when Ginger hip checked him out of the way and walked through the doorway without knocking.
Maria and Ginger’s boyfriend just acted like that was an ordinary occurrence for the two of them—because it was. They both just threw their hands in the air and just went with the flow.
You ran up to Ginger to give her a hug. “You guys made it!”
“You should have knocked first, Ginger.” Frank said. “Y/n and Bill could have been in a—compromising position.” Frank was grinning ear to ear when he said that.
“Yeah that’s a New Year’s Eve I’ll never forget. My retinas will never be the same.” Ginger laughed.
You could feel your ears and your cheeks start to turn red and you covered your eyes in embarrassment remembering the time you and Billy were caught in the act during a New Year’s Eve party.
Your sparkly black dress hiked up over your hips, while Billy had you pinned against the wall, buried to the hilt, and you not realizing how loud the sinful noises were that Billy was drawing out of you. Or how hard you were hitting the wall behind you until it was too late. Busted. Well at least it made for a good story, you thought.
You cleared your throat. “Ooook if y’all are finished, there’s wine on the counter, glasses are there too. If anyone wants beer, it’s in the fridge and snacks are on the table. I’m going to get Billy, I’ll be right back.”
You called out for him. “Billy?” You found him in the bedroom. “Hey handsome. Everyone’s here, you comin’ out?”
You could tell he was still angry but he tried to put on a happy face for you.
“Yeah, my love. I’ll be out in a second ok?”
You moved closer to him and kissed him on the cheek, his beard tickled your lips. “I love you.”
“I love you too, beautiful.” He winked at you.
From downstairs, you heard Ginger yell out “BUNK BEDS?!!! This place is amazing!”
That made you smile but on the other hand, you were worried about Billy. Why was he so upset about not being able to change the reservation? You knew he wanted to take everyone out for dinner tomorrow night but if you couldn’t go, you couldn’t go. What’s the big deal?
***************************************************
You, Maria, and Ginger filled your afternoon with some shopping at the little boutiques in town and left the men to do whatever they do when they’re left alone with each other which was basically hang out by the fire pit with a couple beers.
Ginger held a black sweater up to your chest. “You should definitely buy this, it’s super cute. What’s the matter, why do you have that look on your face?” She asked.
“Hmmm? Oh, it’s nothing.” You said.
“Nothing my ass. Tell me—tell us. MARIA!! We need you!” Ginger shouted across the quiet boutique and waved her hand for Maria to come over.
“Ok, so this morning when I was outside, I told Billy that it smells like it’s going to snow. He looked at me like I was crazy but then when he looked at the forecast, it said they’re expecting 2-3 feet between early tomorrow morning and tomorrow night. And he got really angry, goin’ on about not being able to go out to dinner tomorrow night if there’s that much snow, it ruined what he had planned, etc., etc.” You explained to them.
A smile crept across Ginger’s face. “We’re getting that much snow?! I saw the snowmobiles outside of the garage, this is gonna be fun!”
“I’ve known Billy for a long time, y/n. And he’s very meticulous in his planning, it’s the marine in him, there’s always a purpose. I think he just wants everyone to have a good time, that’s all.” Maria said, and glancing over at Ginger as if they were silently communicating to each other about something but you ignored it.
“He planned this weekend for all of us and I just want him to enjoy himself too, ya know?” You said to them.
“Should I pick some more fights with Frank? That always seems to make him smile. I saw the Pictionary game in the living room, things could get ugly.” Ginger said with excitement.
Maria started laughing. “I’m sure you’ll do that anyway, Ginger. I thoroughly enjoy you messing with my husband. He openly hates it but I’m convinced he secretly loves it.”
You all started to laugh and suddenly you were very grateful to have them with you.
Around the Fire Pit
Billy, Frank, and Ginger’s boyfriend Chris sat around the crackling fire, drinking beer and talking when Frank asked Billy. “So do you have it on you, Bill?”
Confused, Billy tilted his head to look Frank. “Have what on me, Frankie?” He took a sip of his beer.
“The ring, Bill. Do you have the ring on you? I mean, that’s why you asked all of us to come up here, yeah? You’re gonna ask y/n to marry you.” Frank said with a wicked grin.
“How did you…?” Billy turned to Chris. “Did you know too?!!”
Chris couldn’t do anything except shrug his shoulders and say “Ginger has a hard time keeping secrets.”
“I know you have it on you, Bill. Let’s see it.” Frank reached for Billy’s jacket pocket.
Billy swatted Frank’s hand away. “Alright, alright. Ok, yes I have it with me.” He reached into his jacket pocket and when he took it out again, his long slender fingers were wrapped around a navy blue leather box with the letters HW printed on the top.
Billy opened each side of the box to reveal the ring inside.
“Holy shit, Bill. That’s beautiful.” Frank said with a surprised tone to his voice.
Billy smiled. “You think she’ll like it? Ginger and Maria helped me pick it out. I didn’t know there were so many styles.” He said, glancing down at the ring. “I just hope she says yes.”
“She will, Bill. She loves you, lord knows why.” Frank said with a laugh as he patted his friend on the shoulder.
Billy shook his head while smiling a little. “I can’t believe the girls told you, I told them it was a secret and NOT to tell you guys yet. I asked them for ONE thing!”
Frank and Chris’s reaction was just to laugh at Billy’s disappointment in the girls’ inability to keep his secret.
“Ginger just texted and said they’re at some place called North Star Pizza and they’re bringing home dinner.” Chris said.
“So what’s the deal, Bill? Why were you so salty when we first got here?” Frank asked.
“I wasn’t salty, Frankie.” Billy said.
Frank started to laugh. “You think I don’t know when you’re in a mood? Now what’s the problem?”
Billy started to explain to Frank what the plan was for the proposal but since it’s supposed to snow tomorrow, the restaurant is going to be closed and he wouldn’t be able to do what he wanted to do.
“Well, we can do all of that here. You told us to bring nice clothes so that’s what we’ll do. We’ll all get dressed up like we were going to but we’ll just have a fancy dinner here and you can propose with all of us around just like you would have done at the restaurant, yeah?” Frank said.
Even though his original plan was scrapped, Billy was starting to feel better about the new one his friend came up with.
Chris chimed in. “So I still have to wear the tie, don’t I.”
The three of them started to laugh.
**************************************************
So Friday night was filled with pizza and Pictionary.
Frank and Ginger were on opposite teams, but it still didn’t stop them from heckling each other while the other was drawing.
“That doesn’t look like any movie title I’ve ever seen before, Frank. Maria is never going to guess what that is. Your drawing skills are atrocious!” Ginger joked.
Frank just kept angrily pointing at what he was drawing on the paper and Maria was shrugging her shoulders and trying to not laugh. “I don’t know what that is, Frank!”
“Time’s up!” You yelled out.
Ginger wasn’t finished messing with Frank. “What the hell was that supposed to be anyway?”
With a furrowed brow and his lips pressed firmly together, Frank threw the marker down on to the table and said “Top Gun, it’s supposed to be Top Gun! That’s a plane!”
Everyone erupted in laughter.
“Frankie, that’s the worst drawing of a plane I’ve ever seen. I’m pretty sure Frank Jr. could draw better than that.” Billy laughed, taking the last sip of his drink.
Ginger had a hard time recovering from her laughter. “Hey Billy, don’t let Frank quit his day job, ok?”
You got up from the couch and headed towards the kitchen for more wine but you didn’t notice that Billy got up to follow you and when you turned around to see him standing there, it scared you half to death.
“Jeez Billy!! You scared me!” You yelled, clutching your chest.
“I’m sorry, baby.” He said.
Billy hated to disappoint you in any way and he knew you weren’t very happy with the way he reacted earlier. You weren’t angry with him but he didn’t have to react the way that he did, there was something bothering him but you couldn’t figure out what it was.
“Can I talk to you for a minute, y/n?” The look in his eyes was very remorseful.
He was constantly trying to be better at communicating to you how he felt and you never made excuses for him to yourself or to anyone else. You helped him as much as you could and listened whenever he wanted to talk.
Billy has told you more about his life than he’s told anyone else with the exception of probably Frank, no one else has ever shown Billy love, patience, or kindness. All he’s ever known was abandonment, the feeling of being unwanted, and anger. Things were a lot better now, definitely not perfect but better.
“Of course, handsome.” You gave him an inviting smile and rested the wine bottle on the counter.
As soon as you put the wine bottle down, he laced his fingers with yours and pulled you into his chest. The heat from his body warmed your torso and soon the warmth was everywhere.
“I’m sorry for the way I reacted earlier. I wanted to take everyone out for a nice dinner tomorrow, and now I can’t—it’s just—I“ Billy was visibly flustered again, only because he was having a hard time expressing his feelings. “I just wanted everyone to have a nice time this weekend.”
Keeping your arms wrapped around his waist, you pulled back slightly to look up at him. If “sorry” was a face, it would be Billy’s at that very moment. Your expression softened and you brushed his lips with your thumb.
“Billy, you were just in the same room as I was. Do you hear that laughter in there right now? Everyone IS having a nice time. This house is gorgeous, and so romantic. You invited our friends to share a weekend away with us, it’s amazing and I can’t thank you enough for doing this. We have plenty of food, wine, beer, anything we could ever want is here so it really is ok that we’re staying in tomorrow night.”
His stare dropped from your face to the floor and back up again, he nodded. His endless dark eyes looking at you with a love that will never be duplicated, you were THE ONE for Billy. No one else will ever have his heart.
***************************************************
When your eyes fluttered open the next morning, you remembered it was supposed to start snowing very early that morning so you jumped onto the bed to look out the window. Freshly fallen snow covered the property and the tree tops, there had to have been at least a foot out there already. It was coming down fast.
Billy didn’t sleep much so again, he wasn’t next to you when you woke up, so he must be in the kitchen. When you opened the bedroom door, you saw him sitting at the breakfast bar with his coffee next to him just staring off into the woods, watching the snow fall. He looked…relaxed.
“You know you can’t sneak up on me, my love.” Billy said turning his head slightly, you could see his million dollar smile. “I’ll get you some coffee.”
You rested your hand on his arm, stopping him from getting up. “No, no baby, I’ll get it. Just sit and relax.” You noticed no one else was up yet as you walked over to the coffee maker. “You see anything good out there besides the fresh snow?” You asked him, pouring your coffee into a mug.
“I saw a couple of cardinals at the bird feeder.” He said. “You don’t get to see this stuff living in the city, it’s beautiful.”
You stood in front of him so his eyes were level with yours and leaned in to kiss him, his lips had a slight hazelnut taste to them and his rich brown hair was all over the place. “Good morning, handsome. No one else is up yet, huh?” You said, sweeping the hair away from his eyes.
“They had a long day yesterday, baby. I’ll start breakfast.” He kissed you again and gave you a wink.
You heard one of the bedroom doors open downstairs and Chris’s voice came sailing up the stairs. “Ginger, I’m pretty sure you were arguing with Frank in your sleep last night!”
You and Billy looked at each other and just started to laugh.
***************************************************
After getting dressed, you walked out into the kitchen and found Frank, Billy and Chris hovering over a piece of paper, a pen in Billy’s hand, and a bunch of whispering going on.
“I don’t know if I like the looks of this…what are you three up to?” You asked, pointing at them suspiciously.
Before any of them could answer, Ginger finished climbing the stairs and said. “They’re being very secretive, aren’t they? I think we should be worried…what if they’re planning our demise? Or if they’re trying to figure out a way to cheat by finding a quicker route to the liquor store.”
Very confused, you looked at Ginger and asked “Ok, what are you talking about?”
Full of excitement, Ginger explained that the liquor store has to be open, one is always open during a snowstorm, and they did pass one on the way up yesterday. So she made a bet with Frank last night that she could get there on the snowmobile quicker than he could.
All you could do was shake your head and cover your eyes with your hand but you were dying to see it.
“Ok, first of all…I need to be a part of this race. Second, do I get to see what’s on this piece of paper?” You asked.
Maria walked up the stairs as Frank started to say “None of you get to know what’s on this piece of paper. This is the menu for tonight’s dinner.”
“I hope you boys know where the fire extinguishers are.” Maria said with a chuckle.
***************************************************
The race on the snowmobiles to the liquor store was very close, you rode with Ginger and Maria rode with Frank. And although it was close, Ginger did manage to squeak out the win and she was right, the liquor store was open. Frank bought some nice champagne for later although you’ve never seen Frank drink champagne ever…maybe it was Maria that wanted it.
Ginger was never going to let Frank live it down that she beat him in a race, she would definitely get a lot of mileage out of it and Frank looked completely defeated when Billy asked who won.
As the snow continued to come down, the rest of the afternoon was filled with laughter, more games, good conversations, a snowball fight, and playful banter. It seemed like everyone was having such a good time which made Billy happy and made you happy to see him that way.
After a game of chess between Frank and Billy, you walked over to the couch to sit on Billy’s lap. You pulled him close for a kiss, it was passionate and you nipped his lower lip with your teeth. The only reason you pulled away was because Ginger made you laugh.
“You guys aren’t gonna start making animal noises, are you?” She asked.
“Today was fun.” You whispered to him while raking your fingers through his hair.
He smiled at you, it was a nervous smile although Billy doesn’t usually get nervous. “Well, it’s not over yet baby.”
“What are you up to, Mr. Russo?” You asked him.
He kissed you one more time. “I just think you’re really going to enjoy dinner tonight.”
“I’m sure I will, handsome.” You said with a slight smile.
**************************************************
With Billy hard at work in the kitchen with Frank and Chris, you were getting ready for dinner with Ginger and Maria. You were sitting on the floor, close to the mirror, putting your makeup on.
“It’s so sweet of them to cook for all of us.” You said.
Maria laughed a little. “Well obviously Frank isn’t helping very much because it smells delicious out there and nothing is on fire.”
You laughed and nearly messed up your eyeliner.
As you continued to do your makeup, you thought about your entire relationship with Billy. Flashbacks of your birthday party popped into your head, when he told you he had feelings for you, the skull tie he wore just for you. The Harry Winston diamond earrings he gave you that night, or rather Frank gave you from him, laser tag with your friends, the getaways, and cozy nights at home.
It wasn’t all good times though, you and Billy had your fair share of arguments. He wasn’t perfect, but you weren’t either. He was learning how to be an actual boyfriend and you were helping him with that process while trying to be understanding at the same time. It wasn’t easy but you loved him and did your best to show him that every day.
You thought you saw Maria give Ginger another look of silent communication. What is going on?
“Are we ready?” You asked.
Ginger clapped her hands together and pumped her fists. “Let’s do this!” She said.
Whatever they were cooking did smell wonderful, as you got closer to the top of the stairs, the aroma got stronger. You could smell the fresh garlic, herbs, and spices and there was definitely bacon involved.
Frank greeted the three of you at the top of the stairs with glasses of wine and escorted you into the living area where the fire was going, there were hors d’oeuvres on the coffee table, and the lights were dimmed to a soft glow. You could see the snow falling at a rapid pace from the windows, as you peeked outside, the snow looked so beautiful and perfectly untouched.
Frank started to point to the appetizers on the table and in a confused tone, he called out into the kitchen. “Hey Chris, what are these things called again!!?”
“Those are artichoke phyllo cups and on the other plate are rosemary veal meatballs.” You heard him yell from the kitchen.
“Uh yeah, what he said. They’re good, I swiped a couple before you guys came upstairs. I’m starvin’ and Bill swatted my hand away when I tried to taste one.” Frank said.
The three of you started to laugh.
“You look very handsome tonight, baby.” Maria told Frank.
He blushed a little. “Thank you, sweetheart. You look amazing as always…you all do. Even you Ginger.”
Collectively, you all let out a big “AWWWWW!!!” And scared a flustered Frank back into the kitchen causing the three of you to laugh uncontrollably.
Back in the kitchen, they were putting the finishing touches on dinner when Frank said to Billy “You look nervous, Bill.”
Billy tried to brush it off. “I don’t get nervous, Frankie.”
“You do when it comes to y/n.” Frank said. “Remember how nervous you were to tell her that you liked her, or when you wanted to ask her to move in with you? You absolutely get nervous when it comes to her. You really, really love her, don’t you.”
“More than anything, but what if she says no, Frankie?” Billy asked.
At the same time, Chris and Frank said “She’s not going to say no.”
“She’s going to be surprised but she’s not going to say no.” Frank said. “She looks beautiful tonight, Bill.”
Billy smiled. “I can’t wait to see her.”
***************************************************
Dinner was delicious. There was a wedge salad to start, filet mignon wrapped in bacon (you knew there was bacon involved), scalloped potatoes, asparagus, along with plenty of red wine.
“I made those potatoes.” Frank said with confidence, pointing at the dish.
Maria smiled at her husband. “And you did a very good job with them, baby. If Frank knows how to make anything, it’s potatoes.”
Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Ginger brought up the time you all played laser tag together. “…And they wouldn’t even let me wear my night vision goggles!”
Maria could not stop laughing. “I’m sorry I missed this!”
And through all the conversations and the laughter, Billy couldn’t take his eyes off of you, his hand resting on top of yours while the other grazed your knee. Your chair pulled as close as possible to his so he could touch you, breathe in the scent of your perfume, and kiss you whenever he wanted to.
All of you were enjoying your coffee and dessert in the living area by the fire, when Ginger said “Hey, ya know we never finished our Pictionary game last night—it was Billy and y/n’s turn.”
The large drawing pad was off to the side of the fireplace, it was Billy’s turn to draw and Maria handed him a folded blank sheet of paper, he already had a plan for what he was going to draw. Ready to guess, you sat on the edge of the couch and waited for him to start drawing.
Frank turned the timer over. “GO!!”
Billy started to draw. He first drew a circle, with what looked like a diamond on top, little lines above the diamond to make it look like it was shining.
You shouted out. “My Best Friend’s Wedding!! Father of the Bride!! My Big Fat Greek Wedding!”
He started to draw something else. “Billy, those are words. You can’t write out words. What are you doing?”
First word. Will
Staring at him confused, he wrote out the second word. You
You looked around at everyone, they were grinning from ear to ear.
Third word. Marry
Finally you realized what was going on.
Last word. Me?
With your knees shaking, you stood up from the couch as you watched Billy drop to one knee and produce a box from his jacket pocket. Was this really happening? He had opened the box but you couldn’t take your eyes off of his.
“Will you marry me, y/n?” He asked.
Tears had flooded your eyes and there weren’t any words or sounds coming from your mouth. You couldn’t speak, only a gasp when you finally looked at the ring, it was a cushion cut diamond surrounded by smaller stones and diamonds around the entire band. It was the most beautiful ring you’ve ever seen.
Taking your hand away from your mouth, you were finally able to answer him. “YES! Yes Billy, I will marry you!”
He slid the ring on your finger, stood up and pulled you in for a kiss. “I love you…so much.”
“I love you too, baby.” You said with a hitch in your voice.
He looked at you like you were the only other person in the room. “Do you like it?”
Looking closely at your ring, you were practically speechless. “Billy—I—I love it! It’s beautiful! Oh my god, it’s huge!”
“That’s what she said!” Ginger shouted.
Frank rolled his eyes and tried to contain his laughter. “Real mature, Ginger. You ruined the moment.”
“I didn’t ruin anything, Frank. Look at them. Look how happy they are!” Ginger said pointing at you and wiping a tear away from her cheek. “I got the best picture too!”
Amidst all of the commotion from everyone, Billy leaned down to kiss you again and you tuned out everyone else for a minute to ask him “Are you really ready for me to be Mrs. Russo?”
He just looked at you with his beautiful brown eyes, smiled and said “I’ve never been more ready for anything, sweet girl.”
A light bulb went off in your head and you inhaled sharply. “THAT’S why you were so mad about the snow! You wanted to do this at the restaurant.”
Billy simply nodded and shrugged his shoulders.
“Honestly, Billy…” You stopped and pointed to everyone around the room. “I like this much better, just us and our friends, no strangers.” You said softly as you cupped his cheek and pulled him towards you for another gentle kiss.
You looked around at everyone, they were talking and laughing with each other. You had your best friend here and Billy had his, and this was the perfect way to spend a snowed-in weekend.
It was with the people you loved, people that made you smile, that made you laugh—that made him laugh. It always made you happy when Billy laughed because he deserved to.
He held you close against his chest, kissed your forehead and as you closed your eyes to enjoy the moment, you heard Ginger say “You know what this means, right Frank?”
With a furrowed brow and a confused look on his face, Frank said “What does it mean, Ginger?”
Rubbing her hands together, she said with a wicked smile. “We get to walk down the aisle together at their wedding! Isn’t that exciting?!! I was thinking maybe we could do some sort of choreographed dance. I have plenty of ideas, we’ll figure it out.”
All eyes were on Frank pinching the bridge of his nose and his eyes were shut, Maria was trying not to laugh while the rest of you waited for his response.
Frank just pointed at Billy and said “Well…it better be open bar.”

Japan day 3
We out to Arashiyama on the west side of kyoto where we saw the bamboo grove, the temple gardens at Tenryu-ji, which were my favorite gardens. They were so pretty and so tranquil (we were there really early)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After we hiked out to the monkey park where there where so so many monkeys
Tumblr media
We then took a bus to the saihoji temple or the moss temple. We got there before our reservation time so did a quick hike into another bamboo forest (and some city views after a very steep climb) and also saw this pretty bridge.
When we went in we started by copying sutras in the temple and then got to explore the beautiful gardens
Tumblr media
We grab lunch and then head over to the golden temple
Tumblr media
After the golden temple we get dinner at a place that does kyoto home cooking.
All the food of the day
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lunch was my favorite of pork cutlets rice and sauce but so so so good.
Dinner we got a sampler platter sake and purple French fries! The beer came in this hilarious glass.
And then for dessert we got taiyakis which are fish shaped custards and I was very excited.
Overly long travel diary
Anthony paid 500 each for temple garden
Anthony paid 500 each for temple garden
I paid 1000 Anthony 200 for monkey park
Bamboo forest. Supposedly over hyped but still very cool. Fun how it got dark in the forest.
Ryaku Temple gardens, lots of pretty leaves and a pond with koi fish
We are there so early that we see a lot of people working hard to maintain the gardens. It’s pretty empty of most people and very serene
We pause for breakfast in a little playground with a picnic bench. After I finish eating I go down the concrete slide. It’s funish but I tell anthony it was the most fun.
Hike up to the monkey park. There were so so many monkeys just hanging about. I loved seeing all of the babies and the younger ones playing. They would knock each other out of trees and chase each other around and hang off the fence ropes. You could feed them through an inside grate but we decided not to do this. Because it was up high we also got a great view of the city and surrounding mountains.
Then we head off by bus to the moss gardens. We were early so we headed off to a little hike where we saw more bamboo forest and went up straight vertical stairs and tree root stairs to more fun views. It was nice to basically have it all to ourselves and it was pretty. The leaves are just starting to change and some of them are such vibrant reds.
Then we went into the moss temple. You start by coping sutra at little tables. They give the calligraphy pen and a paper to trace and instructions that also give you the translation. I really enjoy it although my foot falls asleep. Then we walk around the gardens. They tell you not talk and it’s very tranquil. The ground is full of moss and there’s a pond in the center and a scattering of trees. There’s also adorable little bridges going across the pond to an island in the center. We take lots of pictures and enjoy the scenery.
I’m glad we got more snacks today.
Lunch 2970 for both
3000 yen to ic card
200 yen from Anthony to ring the bell. And then I get a postcard too. I like ringing the bell although I didn’t do very hard, I had been wanting to ring the bell after seeing so many so it’s nice to get to do in what is clearly an allowed way.
Golden temple
Anthony paid 500 yen entry each for both of us.
The temple is so gold and shiny. TKe terrible selfie pictures.
I get a golden temple keychain that I’ll use as a Christmas ornament for 400 yen
We then grab the bus back. We don’t make it on the first bus too full, but then we get seats on the next bus five minutes later which is way better anyway.
We try to find a bar from our saved list but are unsuccessful. We then wander for awhile trying to find a place that is both good looking and doesn’t have a long wait. We settle at a place that supposedly does Kyoto home cooking. We get a little sampler plate, vegetable tempura and French fries that turn out to be purple and are my favorite. The sampler has salad, tofu, chicken, some kind of fish and a potato salad that is sweet. We also get sake wine to go with it. We’re still hungry so we order more chicken and some rice balls.
After we get desert that is a fish shaped pastry filled with custard called taiyaki. It is so cute and I love it. My bf found a place that sold them just for me. We also walk around nishi market. It’s really cool but towards the end I definitely get overwhelmed by all the colors and sheer number of stores.

(Un-) Lucky coincidence – drabble 1
Jenna Ortega x Fem reader
Summary: After waking up early, Y/N enjoys a peaceful morning walk in Madeira and shares her experiences with her cousin Emma via FaceTime. Later, she immerses herself in DJing, unaware that Toni and Jenna are watching her with amusement and admiration.
Warnings: none
Words: 2400
When I woke up the next morning, my phone displayed the early hour of 7:30 a.m. While I would have loved to luxuriate in bed a bit longer, the anticipation of the day ahead kept me from staying under the covers. I decided to embrace the morning and headed for a cool, refreshing shower before anyone else stirred. The water cascaded over me, waking me up fully and invigorating my senses. I took my time, allowing the water to wash away any remaining traces of sleepiness. After the shower, I wrapped myself in a soft, fluffy towel and made my way downstairs. It seemed that everyone was still asleep, so I decided to slip outside for a peaceful morning walk. Toni had shown me a beautiful, secluded path on my previous visit to the island, and I knew it would be the perfect place to start the day. The path was surrounded by lush greenery and led to a quiet spot by a small river. It was a serene oasis where time seemed to stand still. As I walked along the trail, I noticed a group of adorable stray kittens playing among the bushes. Their playful antics brought a smile to my face, and I couldn't resist sitting down to watch them for a while. As the morning sun cast a warm glow over the surroundings, I took a moment to reflect on the incredible journey that had led me here. The serenity of the place allowed me to clear my mind and think about how fortunate I was to be in this beautiful location with two amazing friends. With Madeira being an hour behind Austria's time, I remembered my cousin Emma back home. She was more like a sister to me, and we had grown up together, sharing countless memories and experiences. Feeling a pang of homesickness, I decided to FaceTime her to catch up and share the breathtaking scenery of the island.
Emma's face lit up with happiness as she greeted me, "Hey, Y/N! How are you?" Her voice was filled with genuine excitement, and I could tell she was eager to hear all about my adventures in Madeira. "Hi, Emma! I'm doing fantastic," I replied with equal enthusiasm, feeling grateful for this opportunity to catch up with her. "Madeira is beyond beautiful; it's like paradise on Earth. I've fallen in love with this place. The atmosphere is so laid-back and peaceful, and the locals are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I could easily imagine living here someday." Emma's eyes widened with curiosity, "Wow, that sounds incredible! I'm so happy you're having such an amazing time. And Toni, your best friend, lives there? That's fantastic! She must have shown you all the hidden gems and secret spots." "Absolutely! Toni has been the best tour guide," I said with a smile, recalling the wonderful experiences we shared. "She knows this island like the back of her hand, and she's given us all the addresses to the most breathtaking viewpoints. It's like having our personal local expert." At that moment, I remembered that Emma had watched the streaming session Toni and I did together, so I decided to mention it. "Oh, and guess what? Toni even invited Jenna and me to join her on one of her live stream. It was so much fun! Her chat was super friendly, and they loved getting to know us. I'm grateful for the chance to share this experience with her audience." Emma's eyes sparkled with excitement, "Oh, I saw that stream! You guys were amazing. You really have such great chemistry on camera. You and Toni just have this natural connection that shines through. And I must say, it's adorable to see you and Jenna together. You make such a lovely couple." I blushed, grateful for Emma's warm words of support. "Thank you, Emma. It means a lot to hear that. Jenna and I are really happy together, and being here in Madeira has been an incredible experience for both of us. We're growing even closer as we explore this beautiful island and share so many unforgettable moments." As our conversation continued, I shared more details about the picturesque places we had visited, the delicious local cuisine we had savored, and the charming little encounters with the adorable stray kittens that had captured my heart. Emma, in turn, updated me on the latest happenings back home, including exciting news about her career as a medical student. After a delightful chat with Emma, I felt even more grateful for this magical journey to Madeira. Not only was I basking in the natural beauty of the island and the warmth of its people, but I was also able to share these moments with someone who had been a constant source of love and support in my life. As I ended the call with Emma, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude.
I slowly made my way back to Toni's house, the warmth of the morning sun enveloping me like a comforting embrace. As I approached the house, lost in my thoughts, I must have caught Maria off guard as she opened the door. "Oh, sorry dear, you scared me for a second," Maria chuckled, her hand on her chest. "I'm not used to people being awake this early in this house." I smiled apologetically, realizing that I might have disrupted the usual morning routine. "My apologies, Maria. I hope I didn't cause too much of a stir. The beauty of Madeira's mornings lured me out for a walk." "No need to apologize, dear. It's lovely to see you making the most of your time here," Maria replied warmly. "Now, how about a coffee to start your day?" Her offer was impossible to resist. "Oh, I'd really love that. Thank you," I gratefully accepted, knowing that Maria's coffee-making skills were something to look forward to. As I settled into the cozy kitchen, the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. Maria was a true master at her craft, and I couldn't wait to savor the first sip. "So, Maria," I began, curious about her story, "I hope it's okay to ask, but how did you end up working for Toni?" Maria's eyes gleamed with nostalgia as she thought back to how her journey with Toni had started. "Of course, dear, I don't mind sharing at all. Before I joined Toni here, I used to work at a hotel in another part of the island. But to be honest, I didn't really enjoy the experience there." Intrigued, I leaned forward, eager to hear more about what led her to this beautiful home and its welcoming atmosphere. "One day, while I was still working at the hotel, a group of Toni's friends came to stay there," Maria continued. "I overheard them talking about how Toni was looking for someone to help her with the household, and they mentioned that she wanted someone reliable and kind-hearted." It was fascinating how chance encounters and conversations could change the course of one's life. I couldn't help but smile, envisioning the serendipity of that moment. "I knew in my heart that I wanted a change, and working for Toni sounded like a dream come true," Maria said, her sincerity evident in every word. "So, without hesitation, I mustered up the courage and approached her friends. I gave them my phone number, hoping they would pass it along to Toni." Three years later, Maria was still a vital part of Toni's household, and the joy she found in her job was evident. Her story reminded me of the power of taking chances and following one's instincts. "I'm so glad it worked out for you," I said, genuinely happy for Maria. "You and Toni seem to have a wonderful connection, and it's heartwarming to see how much you enjoy being here." Maria beamed, and her eyes sparkled with affection. "Thank you, dear. Working for Toni has been a blessing in more ways than one. She's not just an employer; she's become like family to me. And meeting wonderful people like you and Jenna only adds to the joy of being here." And with that maria handed me my coffee and went to do other things that are required.
With my coffee in one hand and a lit cigarette in the other, I strolled into Toni's beautiful garden. It was a serene place, adorned with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet morning moment. As I settled into a cozy chair, the soft sunlight filtering through the leaves, I felt a sense of contentment wash over me. I took a contemplative sip of my coffee, savoring the rich flavor that Maria always managed to achieve. As I did so, I decided it was time to share some of my Madeira adventures with the world, or at least with my social media followers. After all, I had been thoroughly enjoying my time here, and it felt only right to let others be a part of it too. Unlocking my phone, I began scrolling through the pictures Jenna had taken. Her photography skills always managed to capture the essence of the moment, making even the simplest things look extraordinary. I selected a few snapshots of myself amid the stunning landscapes, the stray kittens that had melted my heart, and the charming little river that whispered stories of its own. I couldn't help but smile as I thought about Jenna, my ever-supportive partner. She had a way of making every experience more vibrant and meaningful. Her presence in the photos made it feel like she was right there beside me. As I continued browsing through the gallery, I found pictures that showcased my other great passion: DJing. Music was an integral part of my life, and I loved the thrill of curating beats that resonated with people's souls. There were snapshots of me behind the turntables, lost in the rhythm of the music, and shots of the chat spamming emotes and Toni dancing.
Feeling a surge of happiness and gratitude, I wrote a caption to accompany the photos: "Lost in the mesmerizing beauty of Madeira! 🌿🏞️ These past days have been a dream, filled with breathtaking scenery and adorable fur buddies. Grateful for the warm hospitality of my dear friend @RevedTV and the chance to explore this paradise. Here are some snapshots of what brings me the most joy—@Jennaortega’s photography talent, the love for DJing, and moments of serenity during my morning walks. Sharing the love and positive vibes with all of you! 🎶❤️ #Madeira #TravelDiaries #DJLife #NatureLovers."
As I hit the "post" button, I felt a sense of satisfaction. Sharing my experiences with the world allowed me to connect with others who appreciated similar passions. Of course speculations about me and Jenna dating or even me and Toni dating started in the Comments but, no matter what I’d post people know that Jenna’s in madeira as well right now so I couldn’t care less. I enjoyed my solitude a little longer, before boredom started to get me.
Feeling right at home in Toni's house, I was thrilled when she gave me the green light to use her DJing equipment. Excitement bubbled inside me as I savored the last sip of my coffee, and with the mug in hand, I made my way to the kitchen. The aroma of breakfast filled the air, courtesy of Maria's culinary skills, and my stomach rumbled in appreciation. But DJing beckoned me first; the kitchen could wait. With my mug now empty, I carried it upstairs to Toni's streaming room. As I entered the room, the familiar setup brought a smile to my face. Rows of neatly organized vinyl records, decks, and an impressive mixer awaited my touch. I knew exactly where to begin. Toni's playlist was a treasure trove of electronic dance music (EDM), tech house, and techno – genres I absolutely loved. I carefully donned the headphones, letting the world outside fade away, and the music enveloped me. The first track I selected had a mesmerizing beat that seemed to sync perfectly with the rhythm of my heart. My fingers danced effortlessly over the mixer's knobs and sliders, blending the tunes with an innate sense of harmony. As I lost myself in the music, the outside world ceased to exist. The early morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room, amplifying the enchantment of this moment. The melodies flowed through me, and I became a conduit for the soul-stirring sounds that filled the space. An hour felt like minutes as I immersed myself in the euphoric world of mixing tracks and creating seamless transitions. But as fate would have it, just when I thought I was alone in this musical haven, Toni stirred from her slumber. I didn't notice her presence at first, still captivated by the music, swaying to the rhythm. It was only when I turned slightly that I caught her smiling eyes watching me with amusement. Instead of snapping me out of my DJing reverie, she seemed to enjoy the moment, a silent witness to my creative expression. Toni's impish grin gave away her playful intentions, and without a word, she tiptoed away, surely to get Jenna. As the beat continued to pulse in my ears, I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder, and there was Jenna, wearing an equally amused smile. I finally realized that they had been quietly observing me, lost in my own world of music. A blush crept up my cheeks, but Jenna's soft laughter instantly eased any embarrassment. "You were in the zone, Y/N. That was incredible to watch," she said, her eyes sparkling with affection. Toni joined in, teasing me gently, "You were so absorbed in the music; we didn't have the heart to disturb you. But we couldn't miss the chance to witness this epic DJing session!" Grateful for their understanding, I couldn't help but laugh along with them. It was wonderful to share my passion with friends who appreciated and cherished these moments of creative freedom. They gestured for me to continue, and without missing a beat, I dived back into the music, this time with the joyful company of Toni and Jenna.
A/N: I really like this one, it’s a little drabble, just Y/N’s morning. Hope you still like it.

MY TOP 15 BL’S OF 2020
WOW, 2020 was A YEAR. This was hard ranking these but I'll try my best...
1. Where Your Eyes Linger [Korean] - One of my all time favorite series, I think because I really felt the chemistry between the actors in this one. I love the whole bodyguard sort of trope as well and the writing in this was so well done imo. I loved the tension filled moments and build up between the two. I just wanted moreeeee.
2. I Told Sunset About You [Thai] - Season 2 was iffy but season 1 was AMAZING from start to finish. I felt like I watching a movie. The writing, the scenery, the build up for the main pair... it was all so well done.
3. Color Rush [Korean] - The storyline for this BL is just so fun, I really loved the entire premise of this world. The chemistry between the two was nice and Korea does such a good job of building up the connection between their pairings. I'm sad that season 2 dipped a bit in quality and that season 1 felt a tad unfinished, but I still really enjoyed it.
4. Why R U [Thai] - This was a well done BL that was fun, I enjoyed the chemistry between Saint and Zee and I didn't find the drama or the angst overwhelmingly frustating. Plus it had a nice side ship and I liked the love scenes too.
5. 2gether [Thai] - I know people love this one, and I really enjoyed it too. It's perfect for those with a sweet tooth. There are some really great affectionate/sweet moments betweeen the main pairing. It was also the first BL I ever watched (if you don't count waterboyyy way back in the day lol) so it has a soft spot in my heart. But I do think it was a tad too safe for me. I prefer my BL's to have angstier/hotter moments throughout. The ending kiss made up for things, but it was unreastic to not have a proper kiss beore that. JMO.
6. Manner of Death [Thai] - I saw a gif of maxtul from this on tumblr and it's what originally got me into BL's. It spiked my interest. I see those two as the grandfathers of BL because they have been in so many things together, and their connection is so strong. I enjoyed this one a lot because it was a more mature series, and had it's own vibe/feel to it that I really appreciated.
7. TharnType Season 2 [Thai] - Season 2 wasn't as strong as season 1 for me but it was still enjoyable. I was really into Mew/Gulf and their chemistry when I first started watching BL's because it felt so genuine to me, and T+T was one of the first shows to really push the boundaries with the intimacy. Solid season.
8. Your Name Engraved Herein [Taiwan] - This was such a beautiful movie, with a positive ending, and I really loved watching it. It was depressng at times, but overall I just think it was so well done.
9. Mr. Heart [Korean] - Recently rewatched this series and it was so good! So fun and enjoyable. Loved the storyline, it felt pretty unique. I enjoyed the connection between the main two. What brings it down for me a bit is some of the physical moments in the series, like when one of them would hit the other... not for me. But overall, I could look past some of things because I enjoyed the rest of it.
10. Cherry Magic [Japan] - Such a cute and fun series, and definitely one of the most memorable ones for Japan. I had a bit of an issue with the intimacy stuff (they really couldn't even peck on the lips once??? It felt too platonic to me at times) but that aside, it was well written and a great watch.
11. Boy’s Lockdown [Filo] - This is actually my favorite of all the "quarantine" related series we got after Covid. To me, it was cute and fun and we got to see the main two come together in a nice and organic way. It was a good mix of different content.
12. Gaya Sa Pelikula [Filo] - Some cheesey/annoying moments for me, mostly regarding the sister character, but the rest of the series was nicely done. It also sort of felt like a mini movie. It has a slightly different vibe for me from other Filo series. I enjoyed it a lot.
13. Wish You [Korea] - Not my ultimate favorite series from Korea but it was well done. Wish I had more to say about it haha. But it was good.
14. Hello Stranger [Filo] - Another quarantine related story, and for a "web series" where the characters never really met til the end, it was really enjoyable. It was a great depiction of what students were going through during covid and I liked the way they went from scene to scene and did different interactions.
15. Because of You [Taiwan] - Def. some low/cheesey moments in this one as well but it was the first Taiwan series that I saw, so I enjoyed how different it felt compared to the other countries. Taiwan definitely has it's own style too. I liked that there were three couples in this one, and I enjoyed all three storylines.
Honorary Mentions: I'm not going into details with any of these series, overall I found parts of them enjoyable, but there were things I didn't love overall. But still worth checking out.
Korea: Craving You
Japan:Life: Love on the Line, HIS
Filo: My Day, Gameboys, Quaranthings, Cheat the Series
Thai: Gen Y, Present Still Perfect, Ingredients, En of Love, My Engineer, Saifahzon, My Gear Your Gown

Mai: "The wind feels nice today."
Kicho: "You're right. The sky is clear too."
I replied to Mai's words as I rowed the small boat.
After meeting again in Azuchi, we went to the lake to avoid being seen.
Mai: "I never thought a boat rental service was available in this era."
Mai: "Did you know? There are boats shaped like swans you can row with your feet back in the future."
Kicho: "I've never been on one, but I've seen it. I think they are called swan boats."
Kicho: "Putting a large bird afloat on a lake is a playful idea."
Mai: "True."
As we chatted about different stuff, she turned her eyes to the beautiful scenery, and I couldn't help but admire the way the water reflected in her eyes.
Tumblr media
(If only I could keep the scene I see in my eyes right now.)
(Come to think of it, there was something called a camera in the future. I should've brought it here.)
As I mulled over the things I couldn't do anything about, she suddenly turned her gaze back to me, and we stared at each other for a while, neither of us saying anything.
Mai: "..........."
Kicho: ".........."
(I guess she has a lot of questions for me.)
(But that can wait.)
Kicho: "Let's go over there."
Mai: "Okay, I'll row this time."
Kicho: "No, it's fine. Let's talk more about the future instead."
Mai: "The future?"
Kicho: "Even if we knew the same world, we've seen and felt different things."
Kicho: "The stores you liked, the songs you liked… anything."
(I don't care what it is.)
(I want to know as much about you as possible.)
Tumblr media
(Even if there's no way I can keep this moment as it is, I'd at least like to keep it engraved in my heart.)
Mai: "I understand. I have lots to tell you then."
I continued to row the boat quietly, listening to her idle chatter.
Mai: "I had an experience like that, and after that, I got hooked."
Kicho: "I see. Liking more stuff is a good thing."
After getting off the small boat, we continued to walk side by side along the edge of the lake.
(I never get tired of hearing her say these things one after another.)
(I guess there are many things she cherishes even in the future.)
I smiled and felt a sense of relief when I saw her talking earnestly.
Mai: "Oh..."
Suddenly, Mai stopped and looked behind me.
Mai: "Look over there."
Kicho: "Hmm? Yeah, it's beautiful."
The setting sun was casting a dazzling light, turning everything gold.
As we stared at it together, she blurted out a few words.
Mai: “Time flies so fast.”
Mai: “It’s natural to have fun times, but I think it’s the same when you’re in pain.”
Mai: “It may seem like the moment felt long, but when you look back on it, it all flew by so fast.”
Kicho: “You’re right. You find yourself in the present, only to find that this present has turned into the past.”
Mai: “That’s why I want to stay close to the people I love.”
Kicho: “Mai…”
Tumblr media
(Please...)
Mai: "Kicho, I..."
(Please don't say it.)
Mai: "I don't want us to be apart."
Mai: "I want to talk about these things tomorrow and the day after."
Kicho: "..........."
Mai: "I want to be by your side like it's natural.”
Tumblr media
(I'm at my limit.)
Kicho: "Mai."
I desperately called her name, trying not to let her say the rest of her words.
However, I couldn't resist the urge and found myself hugging her.
Mai: "Don't you feel the same way?"
(I feel the same way. How could I not?)
(But...)
Kicho: "I can't tell you. Anything I say will just hurt you."
(I made that choice.)
Tumblr media
(A choice that wouldn't have allowed me to hold her like this anymore.)
I pulled away from her, swallowing down my regretful feelings, and gently took her hand in mine.
Kicho: “Sorry.”
Mai: “Why are you apologizing?”
Kicho: “Because I’ve come to a point of no return.”
I squinted my eyes calmly, trying to remove some of the uneasiness creeping into my face as I blocked out the setting sun and cast shadows on her face.
Kicho: “I’m glad to hear your stories. I know there’s still a place for you outside of this place.”
Kicho: “Be sure to return to your original time, Mai.”
Mai: “You know that a wormhole is going to appear?”
Kicho: “Yeah. I was able to observe it a while ago.”
Kicho: “I checked on you today, and you don’t seem to have those symptoms, either.”
Mai: “Yes.”
Mai: “Does this mean the future is coming back?”
Tumblr media
Kicho: “That’s right.”
Mai: “Kicho, what on earth did you do?”
Mai: “I heard at the castle that you and Motonari attacked the trading post and took it back.”
Mai: “You’re putting yourself in danger by doing that.”
Kicho: “Does that mean the Oda forces are going to invade Sakai?”
Mai: “...........”
Mai suddenly covered her mouth as she realized her slip-up.
(Her reaction confirms it.)
(Everything is going according to plan.)
Mai: “If that were the case, what would you do?”
Mai: “I know you’re not my enemy, and you’re not a liar. But I don’t know what you’re doing and your purpose.”
Kicho: “There are things you don’t need to know.”
Mai: “I already know. I know you’re going to start a war, even though we’re supposed to have the same goal.”
Mai: “If you do that, more lives will be lost again.”
Kicho: “...........”
Tumblr media
(I know, but...)
Kicho: “It’s a necessary sacrifice.”
Mai: “Kicho...”
I slowly let go of her hand and whistled, calling for the horse waiting nearby.
Mai: “W-Wait! Let’s talk more properly.”
Kicho: “Neither I nor you have the time.”
I mounted my white horse and took hold of the reins.
Kicho: “Thank you for keeping the past me alive until this day.”
Tumblr media
Kicho: “Please be yourself, even in the future.”
Mai: “Kicho!”
Turning my back to Mai as she tried to call me, I kicked the horse in the belly, and with a neigh, its hooves kicked up the ground and moved forward through the wind.
(If I'm allowed to take her away, I would have.)
(That's why I shouldn't look back. It's for the best.)
I told myself mentally and clucked my tongue at the ironically beautiful sunset.
Even though this was the last time, the dazzling gold color also dyed Mai's hair and eyes.

Let’s talk about episodes 4, 5, and 6 of Daisy Jones & the Six! This is kind of late because I have written and re-written this review 8 times.
(Spoilers galore — do not continue reading if you don’t want to be spoiled)
Let’s start with the good! Immersion. Episode 4’s house party was what I’ve been waiting for in terms of set and scenery. The smoky rooms, the people, the noise, the outfits, the wood paneling of the house. I think the house party will forever be a favorite part of this series for me. It was a happy addition. Although it didn’t exist in the book, Camila bringing Daisy into the fold and getting Billy to put aside his ego for the sake of his art and the band was great. She saw the potential of them and orchestrated a thing of beauty. Lots of mess but also beauty! Seeing the band interact outside of a strict music setting was a joy. Can we get more of that?! Daisy holding Julia: chills. Another full circle moment, they’ve always been somewhat connected.
I still don’t like that Daisy didn’t actually have a career until she met the Six but their first performance was great. Billy’s annoyance, Daisy’s false bravado, her crashing the stage after the first song, The Six’s excitement. All so good. Camila clocking Billy for his rudeness during the interview. So good!
I have zero notes for Simone thus far, she has been a delight to watch and I can’t wait to experience her New York disco days.
I loved everything about Karen and Graham’s little surfing side quest, down to the car his… girlfriend(?) was driving — i want it! When she pulled him inside of the house my eyes popped out of my head lmao. Karen jokingly using her jealousy to shame the poor girl for her love of Barry Manilow threw me off a liiiitle. It wasn’t a huge issue at all, it’s just that in my head she would’ve been too cool to say that, girls girl and #girlboss and all.
These episodes were some of my favorite so far. The tension and initial anger and the music were great. I love understanding the context of songs and this was so special. More Fun to Miss and Regret Me truly hit even deeper if that was possible. Watching Billy and Daisy go back and forth when writing the album felt very frustratingly satisfying. It’s such an important chunk of the book and I wouldn’t have minded it playing out a bit longer but I’m unsure if that’s because I still feel thrown off by the pacing of the show. We only have four episodes left.
Now let’s get to the elephant in the post. Unfortunately I have been spoiled left and right while running this blog. I knew about the kiss (and a few other changes that I won’t spoil, don’t worry.) And as much of a fangirl moment that I had during it (I still gasped and leapt from my chair), when it was over… I was left scratching my head. The excruciating what-if aspect that looms over the book has been replaced with a handful of cliches. There is no guessing or later revelation, it’s all been laid out.
I hate that I agree with the critics again, I swear I never thought that would happen, but once Billy initiates the kiss a lot of the plot has been stripped of its nuance. This is now a show about a very real love triangle. I know things must change for adaptations and they really wanted to lean into the Fleetwood Mac aspect of the band’s relationships but something about the dynamic between these characters is off especially this version of Camila and Billy as we continue with the season. We’re supposed to feel love and instead it’s translating as obligation.
Book Billy’s faithfulness to Camila after he got sober is what he held onto with a vice grip. And although he loved her and emphasized that he chose her above all else, the weight of temptation everyday constantly crushed and guided most of his decisions when he was with Daisy. They were magic onstage because it was where they could be together and burn all that pent up energy. Daisy replaced his addiction and because of that she was the temptation he never fully lost himself in because of what happened the first time. Watching them together on stage was meant to be akin to the dynamic of The Civil Wars. Profound longing mixed with unbridled inhibition and the sadness of the reality of their situation.
Here he’s already given into the temptation that he was supposed to ultimately struggle with when he made a decision at that bar in Chicago. And once Daisy vocalizes her anger/hurt at him bringing Camila to the Aurora cover shoot, the triangle has been solidified. This feels like an affair, just one that didn’t have enough gas to take off. I understand the idea of and see the tweets about conflicting point of views and unreliable accounts (due to who is interviewing them) and while I agree (I do!), that just doesn’t hold up here. Daisy’s shame that Billy rejects her after she kisses him is meant to get her on the path to running away to Thailand, marrying Niccolò and falling deeper into addiction. The idea of her leaving because of the same Rolling Stone article that she exposed Billy for is ??????? And seeing Camila here being relegated to a wife standing by her man cheating a second time as long as he doesn’t love Daisy is so… weird. Not even a little fling with Eddie could even the score but honestly good for her! (this is meant to replace that “lunch” with Greg/Gary Egan that happens in the book). I hope they don’t turn Camila into a placeholder; just another obstacle for Daisy and Billy to endure especially now that they’ve chosen to shorten the age gap between the interviews because that would be depressing.
Do I still love these characters? Absolutely. The show is doing a wonderful job of capturing a lot of emotions and I can not emphasize enough how much I love this cast. I know these are deeply flawed characters and they eventually experience the consequences of their actions and selfishness but we’re still supposed to be rooting for them. I do think they’ve forgotten to slip a few redeeming qualities for Billy in tho 👀.
Rating ⭐️ — 4 out of 5
24 hours later and Im still going back and forth with this rating lol
Also why Greece? Nothing wrong with that change, just curious

Hey peru travel advice if u got any?
please have fun there in the greatest country of south america a very beloved nation 😭💕💕💕💕💕💕
try the anticuchos they're amazing. try the lucuma ice cream from the street vendors!!!!! try a pisco sour, try choclo with queso fresco, try lomo saltado, chicha morada, emoliente, ceviche, picarones, papa la huancaiya, tacu tacu, chachangas, etc etc just eat lots of everything nothing is bad. go to a fruit market and try cherimoya. there's also a lot of chinese and japanese and italian food there that has been peruvianified, it's great. the food in peru is fucking amazing, try everything.
when i went i had the massive advantage of staying with and being shown around by my mother's friend who was born and raised in lima, and i was just a teenager so she basically planned everything and i just did whatever she told me to do haha. so im not gonna lie i never really had to do research or worry and idk exactly like .. i can't give the most amazing tips. she took us mainly to educational places like museums, historical sites, churches, at one point she took us to a dairy farm outside lima where they made queso fresco. we also visited a trout farm. like any place you'd expect a class of eighth graders to take a field trip, that's where we went haha. it rocked.
i can say definitely visit the smaller museums and smaller archeological sites. there is a national museum in lima that documents the civil war of the early 90s that i highly recommend. idk if you'll be in lima or huancayo or nazca or macchu pichu or what but wherever you are there are incredible archeological sites to visit nearby. it's not just macchu pichu.
i can also say, we took buses to travel everywhere, including long distances to other cities. we went to small local bus depots and i was usually the only person on them that wasn't from peru. i found that traveling this way was very cheap, and i saw extraordinary scenery, and there were sometimes good food vendors on the bus, or on very long distance drives, the driver would sometimes stop at a good restaurant that was very cheap. i loved it. one time going back from huancayo to lima, the bus did break down a bunch of times delaying our trip by several hours, but even that was one to the most extraordinary experiences of my life. driving through those mountains and forests, down into the vast desert and towards the coast, during the most beautiful sunrise ive ever seen in my life, made the inconvenience and discomfort more than worth it. these long distance buses are usually pretty nice, too, they're very similar to an american greyhound. so i would really recommend that especially if you know someone there or are balling on a budget.
on the practical side of things, do not drink or brush your teeth with unboiled tap water. you'll get sick. my friend didn't drink any but brushed her teeth with it, and she got sick as a dog and couldn't come to nazca with us.
also, peru has very strict wildlife exportation laws, so be cautious about bringing home any souvenirs made out of wild animals or wild animal products, bc they will probably be confiscated from you when you get back home. alpacas are domesticated so you're good there.
also i think you should buy a huge bottle of vanilla from a local market bc the vanilla there is delicious
it's been my observation that peruvian culture is very kind and polite. ppl don't make a lot of eye contact but everyone is really cool. idk if you're fluent in spanish or anything but don't be nervous about trying to speak it if you're not that good, and try to be very kind to ppl, bc there's a really generous and welcoming spirit, ppl will be kind to you.
if you need a doctor, just go, bc it's super cheap, like twenty bucks for an appointment.
don't worry about the elevation. just drink a lot of water and bring some excedrin. don't be a weenie it's a once in a lifetime experience!
i love peru so much it's very close to my heart. im so glad you're going, please tell me how things go!!!!!!!

Siiiiiggh the brainrot is melting my mind so take this yapfic of my SC oc meeting the critters (PART 1)
(Ps, this is self indulgent so there’s not gonna be a lot of context LMFAO)
Also my oc doesn’t appear…. Yet.
It was a cold fall night, the critters had decided to go to a new science museum. There was a special exhibit called “The Lightbulb Land” that supposedly showed the “fun and exciting” properties of light.
“This is going to be great!” Bubba squealed, clutching his lightbulb pendant.
“A museum has you screaming like a girl… no way…” Kickin expressed his concern.
“Let him!” Bobby squeezed Kickin’s wing as a warning.
“Alright!” He quickly jerked back, then gently rubbed his wing.
“Um… are we done?” Dogday motioned to the two of them with a concerned look on his face. They nodded in a synchronized manner, prompting Dogday to go back to his relaxed, yet excited stature.
“Ok, now let me just…” Dogday began to do multiple consecutive headcount’s. His digital pad flew around quickly, before stopping.
“Phew… everyone’s here.” Dogday sighed, before motioning for everyone to follow him.
“We’re officially on the road…-path? Whatever!” Dogday announced.
The walk was actually quite nice. The critters finally got to go somewhere different, it was a welcome change. The gentle cool breeze that occasionally brushed on them, the earthy wet smell that came with the outdoors, and the quiet sounds of crickets were a new aesthetic to them.
Crafty had taken a sketchbook with her, and was quietly sketching out the scenery, right behind her, Hoppy and Picky were playing a game of “I Spy.”
“I spy with my little eye… something cyan!” Hoppy whispered.
“Crafty, obviously.” Picky replied.
“How’d you know?” Hoppy questioned.
Picky tilted her head, eyebrows raised. She got out a bag of pretzels and handed some to her.
“Let’s leave the intelligence thing to Bubba.”
“Buh-“ Hoppy crunched on the pretzels while speaking, Picky quickly closed her mouth for her.
“Don’t eat with your mouth open! It’s gross.”
Crafty, in front of them was quietly snickering, hearing their interactions. She drew a picture of what she imagined happening, an angry, pretzel-filled green rabbit, and a sarcastic pink pig arguing. She covered her mouth to stop her laughter from escaping and shook her head.
Dogday had a silent smile on his face. To see everyone bonding outside made his heart flutter, however a strange feeling of something being missing fell upon him.
“Your tails wagging, what has got you so happy?” Bubba asked in a inquisitive tone.
Dogday was caught off guard. “I’m just really happy about this new experience!”
Bubba gently blew his trunk as they continued walking.
After a while, they spotted bright lights illuminating a building. It was a wondrous sight for them.
“The museum!” Bubba shouted with glee.
Kickin looked at Hoppy with a mysterious grin. He lightly smacked the back of her head.
“You’re too slow!” He yelled as he began running towards the building.
“Get back here!” She screamed as she bolted towards the yellow chick.
The two were actually quite fast. The rest of the critter had to dodge the two.
“I- welp…” Dogday mumbled.
“We’re here!”
They marveled at the giant building, dwarfing them in size. The lights coming off were a beautiful sight. The carved brick walls look intricate, with many Roman-like designs. There was a flag on the top of the building, showing a lightbulb drawing.
“Ooooooooooh!” They all vocalized in unison. Their eyes lit up like stars. They entered through the large doors, and saw the lobby. There was a neon map, along with foldable paper versions that helped navigate the museum.
“So, let’s all stick togeth-“
“Race you!” Kickin interrupted Dogday as he, and Hoppy began running away.
“Slow down, you’re going to get yourselves hurt!” Bobby chased after them.
“Uh… well I’m going to the lightbulb exhibit.” Bubba announced.
“Oh, me too!” Crafty added.
“Well, since you guys are going, I’m coming as well!” Picky also added.
The group walked towards the exhibit, while talking to each other.
“Oh well…. That makes just me…” Dogday sulked. His plan wasn’t really going to fruition. He woefully got a paper map, and looked to see what he could do.
“Let’s see…. Lightbulbs… biology…. Sleep exhibit- sleep?” That word rung a bell in his head. He suddenly got a flashback to his headcount, as he remembered he counted eight heads, but he only heard seven voices. He recounted in his head.
“Where’s Catnap?”
