AAAAAUGH another fallen star................this is HORRIBLE i already gave up a naydra opportunity to sit up here! if i go get this one i definitely won't get lucky enough to get back on her back, she's head towards the sparse and UNEXPLORED skies over the gerudo desert so i'd have no way to fast travel back to her...i wish i could leave a medallion on her head

i basically only have 3 areas left on the right side of the map - lanayru which i do not wanna do bc i hate the snowy mountain and the waterway makes me nervous, and the zora area, and death mountain. and i guess the tingle islands so that's technically 4

gonna start w the zora area tomorrow unless a different mood strikes me - there's a shit ton of caves and seeds i missed all clustered together that will be easy to knock out

It’s always just my luck that I wind up actually liking the Astro Boy adaptations that either aren’t that popular or that people usually don’t like huh... :’)

Like I can understand why many people may not like the 2009 movie or the 2014 preschool series you know, like that’s fair, especially if you’re a hard core fan of the franchise as far as lore is concerned! In that case, I can understand why people don’t like these works since they water down the material to it’s bare essentials to appeal more to kids, something I have a personal pet peeve of whenever I see a show I like myself get a more kid friendly adaptation...

You know, I get it, and having those grips are a 100% justified...

But at the same time, given I’m not the biggest Astro Boy fan, tbh I think that these reasons are probably why I like watching these works more BECAUSE I don’t know much about the lore, and therefore, they are easier for me to enjoy as a casual fan imo

Which is why, all of this aside, after recently binge watching all 8 episodes of Little Astro Boy, I can’t tell you how sad I am that not only did this show get cancelled but that it only has 8 episodes period :(

Like, yeah it’s a kid show and everything, but the art is super cute and nice to look at, and the episodes (at least imo) were pretty entertaining/funny as far as kid shows are concerned, so I really wish this show had been given more of a chance~

All of this, as well as each episode having Hamegg in a main role are just a few reasons why I think this will probably be my fav thing of Astro Boy I’ve seen after the 2009 movie and the 2003 anime (although tbh I still need to sit down and watch the latter all the way through as I just skipped around episodes to see Lamp and Hamegg, so aside from the basic story I have no idea what’s going on there,,,)

On the other hand, to be fair, this is all absolutely biased since, if this show didn’t have so many appearances of Hamegg in it, I probably wouldn’t have ended up liking it as much as I did? Idk man, I’m a simple person: I see Hamegg content and I click~ I love that man and I’m not too picky, so if you show me a series where he’s in every single episode without fail, then don’t be surprised if I consider it one of the greatest things of all time~

Legit he is the main reason I know about the Star System and it’s other characters in the first place, so if that new Astro Boy show that’s coming out that’s supposed to be made by the same guy that made Miraculous Ladybug wants me to watch it...well...if he is in it...even if it turns out to be trash you’ll still know where to find me XD

I AM LATE BUT BACK, sorry work ate my life |D but yes! camelot movies are a bit different; mostly in order of events and dialogue and how certain events happen, not the big stuff, but some stuff is shuffled around and altered for time purposes. i'm pretty sure they also added mordred vs sanzang in the second one, that wasn't in the game. but it's still good! it's very very good, it's just a bit edited down etc because they crammed a whole chapter into 2 ovas rather than a whole 24 ep anime.

the extra anime does sound fun! i absolutely fucking adore Robin and Drake, so om nom nom more content for them is always wonderful, and i like nero's route in the game best so i'm glad it's her starring-- i should definitely check it out at some point once i finish apocrypha.

(i...am very early on into apocrypha. i need to finish that. i love everyone in it, they're all delightful. especially astolfo and achilles, though honorary mentions for karna and vlad.)

kojiro BALLS honestly he's really cool and i hope he gets more stuff in future events, we do get a 'gudaguda' historical japan event every year and i think they finally ran out of sengoku shenanigans, so maybe he'll get to star in a future one? here's hoping he deserves it (or maybe he'll be in that new koei tecmo game, since musashi is in it!)

you have excellent taste tbh, everyone on that list is amazing, and i stan shishigou SO HARD you have no idea he's So Cool. waver too, i love him as small and dorky but also older and...still dorky. but hotter. Gil, Cu, Emiya, Robin, Merlin, and Dantes are some of my favs but honestly i can't name a servant i HATE 100% (okay yes i can, but that's just one of them XD)

No worries!! UGH I hate when that happens, I wish work was just. not a thing XD

Oh, yeah, that makes sense, with Babylonia they did a full anime season; I wish they had done the same for this, but I'll take what I can get! I don't really have the time/interest to explore the game chapter for myself, but I wonder if I could maybe find a let's play or something to watch, I'd be interested in seeing the content in full.

Haha, Apocrypha is also very differently structured in terms of Holy Grail War dynamics (14 servants on the field....... it's so many....) but I really, really liked it. Lots of pain, of course, but it's so well written and executed. Enjoy!! Astolfo is a gem <3 (Achilles I'm not a fan of, but I've never liked him in any form/media and idk why; I like to pretend we don't share heritage XD BUT that's just my personal taste and, as a Greek, the Apocrypha team did an absolutely excellent job with his portrayal! I honestly have zero complaints about how they've handled any of my culture's mythological/historical figures, they consistently produce some of the most intuitive and nuanced interpretations I've ever seen).

It's just my curse, always falling for the side characters with the least amount of screen time lmao. I hope so!! Fingers crossed! (though Musashi favoritism kind of abounds in sword/historical circles, so it that might not mean anything -- but I'll be very pleasantly surprised if he does turn out to be in it!!).

You have excellent taste too, Gil is one of the best boys and Cu is amazing as well <3 Shishigou is just so badass (and a necromancer, so instant bonus points for me) and his attitude is so relatable, he'd be my number one pick for a Fate mentor figure, you know? YES I love both young Waver and older Waver, and can I say how much I adore that he's so completely and utterly out of shape? Wheezing when he runs? I love that about him XD

I haven't spent too much time with Robin and Dantes so I can't really say anything worthwhile other than they are awesome and I love their designs, but MERLIN is also a top choice, 10/10, he's absolutely irritating but also a delight and his relationship with Fou is one of the best things ever.

Same! There are definitely characters that I don't like, as in, they don't vibe with me, but no one who I dislike as a character in terms of their role/purpose in the story, everyone is extremely well written.

#what i really want from fate at the moment is more el-melloi case files tbh #like. Fate universe + victorian mystery aesthetic??? yes please #XD

Okay this one‘s going to be long and I really apologise for it.

So. I‘m an ace aro who grew up in a immigrant family where things such as sex and romance weren’t really talked about because „we“ wait till marriage. I never really realised i was "missing" something, because of that

Fast forward, I was 14 when I found out about fandoms and comfort characters. My first fandom was Percy Jackson and I remember I had a big crush/squish? On Percy

When I was 17 I found out I was asexual and was okay with it. No real problems, I had my comfort characters (who where 17/18 just like me)

When I was 19 I found out I was aromantic. Now that one was tricky. And I still have issues accepting it because of my family and being seen as a „failure“ just because I don’t want a S.O

My favourite characters were a HUGE comfort and still are. Cause if they don’t have a SO, it’s okay if I don’t have one right?

Now onto my question, cause the background information was important to understand my struggle.

I always grew out of my fav. Characters. Like with Percy Jackson, when I turned 18 I was like, he’s still 16, he doesn’t have the struggles like I have so I got new favs my age.

But the most important thing is: I never liked my faves romantically or sexual. I just loved them and still love them like I do a Family member. So even if I still find comfort in Percy jackson he’s like a brother to me.

I just recently watched encanto and it really hit me (big family, kind of toxic sometimes, all that buzz) and I realised that this Camilo dude was my favourite. (I always had a soft spot for the goofball so it’s no surprise tbh) and I didn’t know his canon age until I googled it. I‘m Honest, I didn’t watch any trailers or anything beforehand so I just assumed he’s some kind of older cousin in his 20s

When I found out he’s 15 I was like, okay, not my usual comfort character because of the age, but well, I still love him like a friend (again, I don’t experience sexual or romantic attraction)

And then I saw many and I say MANY post talking about „these weird ass young adults simping for a literal CHILD and calling him hot and drawing him so weird!! Like wtf if wrong with u???“ ( I def. agree with the hot part and the weird drawings don’t get me wrong! It IS weird!!) but I still feel kind of hurt because I DONT see him in any romantic/ sexual way but I know everyone else will think that i do

And now I genuinely don’t know what to do! Cause now I’m 20 and it’s SO hard to find any characters my age who DONT have a S.O or sex. And this Is a whole new struggle cause with child characters, there rarely is any romantic let alone sexual tension so I prefer to find comfort in them rather than in older people cause they don’t get sexualised you know?

Oh my god I sound like a p*edophile! But I really don’t mean it like that, its just easier to identify with 16/17 year olds cause they don’t have Sex and im Sex repulsed so it just disgusts me

I know I could just read ace/aro books. But first of, I'm in the closet and do not plan on coming out anytime. and second.. it just limits everything. Most of the time the whole struggle of the book is the sexuality of the person. Why can't it hust be a fantasy book without anything? I remeber i read a young adult novel and i was so happy, i was like FUCK YEAH she's 25 I love it! and then BAM! 20 pages of smut. It ruined the whole book and I hate it so much that I feel so disgusted by it. and then again, I read a YA book (16-18) it still feels weird cause i don't really identify with them either? these are literal children and it's just weird.

I'm sorry, I really don't know what I expected myself when i began to write that question, I guess i just wanted to vent.

hello my dear nonnie! you know what’s funny about kid fic like this? i don’t usually seek them out, but i’m not against them either, and i’m so glad because i’ve read some really amazing ones. since you didn’t specify pairing, i hope you don’t mind but i’m including other pairings here too (mostly because some of my very favorite kid fics ever were actually tomlinshaw hehe).

Down From the North by @chelsea-frew - this is SUCH a lovely christmas fic! harry and louis have been dating for long enough that louis is ready to introduce harry to his daughter, but when they’re introduced it turns out his daughter has already met harry. it’s just SOOOO cute the way it all unrolls. hehe

try to not remember (rather than forget) by @hereforlou - ANGST TRAIN! established relationship fic where harry has been in a coma for YEARS. ACTUAL. YEARS. so when he wakes up there’s a lot of catching up to do.............. including meeting their child. TEARS MY FRIENDS. this fic was incredible. so anyway. get ready for pain, but you’ll like it ;)

He Was a Different League (When I Was Nothing Much) by @afangirlfantasy - i just really love crying over kid fics, okay? lollllll this one is one of those where they knew each other when they were younger, lost touch, and then reconnect when they’re older, right? but add in marcel and single father louis and oh gosh. so many tears. like when i reread my comment i kinda laughed, because apparently i ran out of tissues and made my poor husband get me a new box so i could keep reading and crying lollllll so anyway. a great fic, highly recommend, once again get ready for pain. lol

Eye of the Zebra by @sadaveniren - lmaoooo listen, this fic was written for @wordplayfics and the prompt was zebra, and then sada went and found a hilarious tumblr post to base the fic off of and i about died. this fic is actually from the pov of the child, and it’s GREAT. 100% recommend. lol

Liminal by @thousandbelow - okay listen. if you have never read anything by kodi, you’re missing out. she has such a way of creating a very specific feel and atmosphere to her fics. truly, it’s a gift, and this fic throws you entirely into louis’ world. it’s incredible and the story is amazing and hard to read in some ways and it’s just. wonderful.

Face Your Fears by @sadaveniren - SINGLE FATHER AND SECRET OMEGA HARRY!!! during his very first heat he was mated by an alpha who wasn’t there when he came to and he had twins. THE WORLD BUILDING! THE LIFE HE BUILT FOR HIMSELF! THE WAY HE MEETS LOUIS AND THINGS COME TOGETHER!!!!!! gahhhhhhhh and listen, these kids are SO REAL. i love it.

happiness hits like a train on a track by leighbot - tomlinshaw fic! tbh i went to scan the fic to be sure i was thinking of the right fic and then accidentally spent 20 minutes reading and had to cut myself off so i could finish this lmaooooo SO ANYWAY single father louis moves in next door to liam and harry, who do as many happy couples do and try setting louis up on dates so he can find his happily ever after like they have lmaooooo it clearyl doesn’t work, but then one night his daughter gets sick and duh duh duhhh! doctor nick to the rescue! the humor, the banter, the rhythm of this fic is all incredible and obvs sucks you in lol i love it

Come and Get Your Love by @rsadelle - another tomlinshaw! this is a five times fic and both nick and louis are fathers and it’s so wonderful. the fic revolves around them taking their kids to each other’s houses for play dates and such, but there’s also little interludes and there’s history you want to learn and you slowly put things together and i just... oh gosh i loved the feel of this fic so much. every single character in this made me wanna be part of their friend group lol

i've a feeling it's time to try (love it if we made it) by serenityandtea - I LOOOOOVE THIS FIC SO VERY MUCH SO SO SO MUCH SO VERY INCREDIBLY MUUUUUCH. i just... deep breaths. yeah. okay. tomlinshaw! yoga instructor and single parent louis! nick basically stumbles into a class of louis’ and of course has to go back. lol it’s famous/non-famous, there’s so much DEPTH to SO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS. i just. fuck. i love it in a lot of different ways and it is truly one of my very favorite kid fics EVER.

Things There Might Be Pictures Of series by @andyouknowitis - established relationship, featuring george shelley as harry and louis’ kid! listen, lj has the most amazing writing, they build these incredible worlds for us and the detail, the intricacies involved in this series! it’s just mindblowing. gorgeous. wonderful. there’s such truth in the snippets we are able to have here, and i love them.

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene by @allwaswell16 - i STILL giggle when i think of this fic and i read it almost three years ago now, okay? this one sticks with you. it is short and sweet and just a total nightmare for a parent, but also such fun lololol you just really have to read it if you haven’t cause it’s a gem

Home for Christmas by @haloeverlasting - HALLMARK CHRISTMAS AU KID FIC! truly it’s amazing. harry didn’t think he wanted kids but then he wakes up! and he’s got a husband and kids! hahaha oh gosh this fic has such feeling and i legit have built it up so much in my mind that i truly thought it had so many more hits than it does?? how?? does it not have more love? anyway. i love this fic very much, it is so soft and lovely and i adore.

Packed Lunches, Sticky Fingers and Accidental Levitation by @londonfoginacup - this fic made me cry... but not because it’s sad? lollll okay so it’s witch harry who has an entire house full of kids and all the chaos that brings. he does it all himself and is not doing a great job at staying on top of everything. he really needs help, and fae zayn finally makes a decision for him and sends louis. and listen. louis does so much for harry that i as a parent who have felt very much the same way that harry did, i cried. lollll but anyway, it is such a lovely and soft and beautiful fic AND THE SEQUEL!!!! IS SO GOOD!!!! so anyway. an absolute fav of mine, right here, and that’s saying something cause emmu is one of my fav writers.

Took Me by Surprise by @becomeawendybird - listen. famous/famous, secret relationship kid fic? you hear what i’m saying?? louis was making a name for himself in the world of MLS when he got injured so he’s now a big name commentator and he has this sassy daughter who is in love with singer harry styles, so naturally things happen, right? gosh I LOVE THIS FIC SO MUCH. i’m just sitting here remembering everything i love about it, and i can’t name it all, so please read it.

Absolutely.

I also accept “demonization” for like--comedic purposes. For example, if they had Alya be all in on the love square and all no Marinette you’re not allowed to give up on Adrien if it’s Lukanette endgame and Alya’s (and possibly the rest of the girl squad) “demonization” is for the sake of their dramatic reactions to the mere idea that Marinette would be both not into Adrien anymore and also into someone else.

I just think the idea of turning things on its head by making the people around Marinette the subject of jokes instead of it being Marinette herself.

Do you mean it’d be better because love square is endgame so it’d be messy? Because otherwise, not gonna lie, Jagged meddling and being super supportive sounds fun. :P I’m not here for love square meddling but Lukanette meddling is cute because both parties would be mutually aware of it and also be into it.

As for my favorite fic I’ve written? That’s probably too tough to answer, ahaha. For sure, it’s something Lukanette-based, but I know that doesn’t narrow it down much at all. It would also probably be one of my fix-its/canon divergences because I’m crazy for multiverse/alternate timeline stuff (I hate time travel, but I’m all about multiverse, I adore that stuff).

Thank you for the extra clarification, anon! Yeah, I have that ship blacklisted (so I don’t see it around) but not really out of hatred for it; I tend to blacklist names/people/ships that I’m either indifferent to or don’t like (I immediately blacklist people who write angst, people who cross tag, and people who do onesided-Lukanette and don’t tag it that, even if it’s just one offense; I don’t play games, lol, if anyone does something I don’t like, I filter it out because I filter everything).

Fav color: Lots of people get surprised when i say this but pink has and always will be my favourite colour.

Fav musicians/bands: God i have so many but the first few that come to mind are Parkway Drive, My Chemical Romance, Five Finger Death Punch, Green Day, Architects, All Time Low, A Day to Remember, Hellions, Slipknot, Secrets, Ocean Grove, Korn, In Hearts Wake, Awaken I Am, Whilst She Sleeps, Slowly Slowly, Young Lions, Trophy Eyes, The Plot In You, Queen, The Maine, Linkin Park, Hands Like House, AD/DC, Evanescence, Dream On Dreamer, Asking Alexandria, Crown The Empire, Camp Cope, Bring Me the Horizon, System of a Down, Disturbed, The Used, Brand New, Blink-182, Bad Omens, Tonight Alive, Stick To Your Guns and lots lots more. When i was putting together this list i was gonna make it a max of 10 bands but then i kept thinking of more and more and eventually i just had to stop otherwise this list would become novel length. Basically the consensus is i like lots of music and any of the band i reblog shit from are favs.

Last film I watched: Sicario and it was shit so take my word and don’t fucking bother.

Last tv show I watched: I just finished rewatching The Umbrella Academy season 1 to get myself psyched for season 2. I also just finished watching the netflix mini series documentary ‘Unabomber: In his own words’ which was pretty good. And I am also currently binging The Office (US) and am just starting season 8.

Fav original character: So i am writing (admittedly mostly just in my head although a little less then a quarter has been written as a rough draft on a word doc) a rather length fantasy/vampire novel. Its part romance, part drama, part revenge fantasy, part anarchist vigilante revolution au and tbh part me just self projecting my trauma and dysfunctional life onto my characters... And whilst it likely will never see the light of day because of my lack of motivation to write the entire thing down and instead just reference it when i am day dreaming. I really vibe with the alternative universe as an escape from the real one i am living in and i have a vested interest in the characters i have created in it. And whilst there are numerous ocs from this that i have put an alarmingly long amount of time (literally years) into developing all of which i love and adore i do have two favourites. One named Taylor who is a gay 2946 year old idiot/himbo (vampire obviously). He is hot, sweet, kind, caring, funny, understanding, stubborn, the mum™️ friend, a romantic fool with a a hint of mummy issues and anger problems and a complete fucking allergy to guilt. And the other is his prodigy/person he turned vampire named Meredith. She is 354 year old hot mess and is kinda the opposite of him in that she is homicidal, manipulative, cunning, devious, fearless (almost to a fault), strong willed women. Who is very smart, has a strong/forward and somewhat off putting personality, low key a bit of a bitch but is very protective of those she loves and has good morals and the desire to right all wrongs even if through violent revenge if she sees fit. She is the leader of a criminal underworld revolution seeking to bring revenge and justice to the powerful and untouchable evils of the world. And he is her loyal side kick that lets her run the show as she is a natural born leader, but also works as a the voice of reason and logic to her. All the while having his own sub plot of being torn between chasing his love interest despite the danger it possesses. Or sacrificing his own desire for connection and love for fear of the consequences despite it meaning living a sad and eternally lonely life. Thats just a very brief summery of those two. They have a very close but complicated relationship with each other, like annoying siblings but imagine if you had to live with your siblings for centuries. And they all have there flaws (some more obvious then others) as well as dark, morbid and tragic histories but it makes them what the are today both the good, the bad and the downright problematic. And yeah i’d like to think one day i will write this out properly and others will read it and connect to or relate to these characters. Maybe love them, maybe hate them, maybe initially hate them, like is designed with Meredith, but come to truly love her once they begin to understand her and see her potential thats hidden under layers of ‘don’t fuck with me’. But until then they are my characters to play around with and build upon and thats exactly what i intend to do.

Pets: Living with me is my son and best friend Gideon (he is a adult black male cat i adopted a year ago and he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.) Living with my sister is my family cat i grew up with named Maisey (she is a snobby fat cat with a beautiful coat and i love her although i don’t think she loves me/or anyone.) And then at my mums is her puppy Newfoundland Bentley (basically god combined a dumbass and a dog and made him) as well as my brothers turtle Pedro and my axolotl Voldemort (can’t fit his huge tank in my apartment so he stays with mum.)

💫Annual Writing Self-Evaluation 2020💫

Thank you @haztobegood for tagging me! I’ve never done one of these before (other than just posting all the fics I’ve written this year) so I’m excited!

1. Number of stories posted to AO3: 8

2. Word count posted for the year: 92,471

Bookmarks: Compete Against the Stars

Comments: Breakable Heaven

6. Work I’m most proud of (and why): Breakable Heaven because it’s the longest fic I’ve done so far and I worked so hard on it and I think it took me most of the year to write it because I started it in late March and finished around late October.

7. Work I’m least proud of (and why): We’ll Be Alright this was the last in the Wordplay challenge from the summer and I struggled so hard to write something for that week’s word. If I remember correctly, I wrote this in like a day at the very last minute before I sent it off to my beta to look over. I could have done better tbh

8. Share or describe a favorite review you received: I’m honestly so shocked every time I get a comment on my fics and I had such a huge response for Breakable Heaven, but one of my fav authors left a comment on my trick or treat fic that mentioned a line I’m really proud of... I might have squealed when I saw the comment

9. A time when writing was really, really hard: As mentioned above, I spent the longest amount of time on Breakable Heaven mainly because I had such a big start on it where I was writing scenes and really hitting a stride in my writing... and then I hit a big ass wall and got so stuck. I can’t even tell you how many times I texted my beta various forms of “I’m stuck help”.

10. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you: the entirety of drink what makes you happy because I was limited to 666 words since it went with the trick or treat fest rules and I only really had the idea of vampire harry and human Louis in the kitchen doing something domestic but where harry is kind of a darker character. I never really had a set plan in mind (lol when do I ever?) but with this fic I truly had no idea where these characters were going to take me and I even shocked myself with the ending.

11. A favorite excerpt of your writing: From Compete Against the Stars because of the longing

“Are you claimed?”

Louis nods, his eyes starting to water. “I don’t want to be. I want to be with you, not some faceless alpha.”

Harry chuckles sadly, stepping forward until the tip of their shoes are touching. “We’re in a similar predicament then.”

Louis scrunches his eyebrows together. “What do you mean? You’re claimed too?”

Harry nods, his lips turned downwards.

“Then we can’t do this.” His hands betray him as they come forward to cup Harry’s face.

Harry turns his head and presses a kiss to Louis’ palm, skimming his nose over the sensitive skin of his wrist, taking in his scent. His eyes are glowing green as his wolf peaks out. “This isn’t fair.” He leans down and presses their foreheads together, dropping his hands off the wall to wrap around Louis’ waist. “No one will ever make me feel like this but you.”

Louis has to take a deep breath to stop his tears from falling. “I know. I feel the same.” Louis brushes his fingertips back around to the nape of Harry’s neck, feeling the softness there and relishing in the scent of walnuts and cinnamon.

12. How did you grow as a writer this year: I know one of the biggest struggles in my writing is worrying too much about what people think and worrying people will read the fic and be disappointed that it doesn’t live up to the tags or summary. like someone reading the fic and going “eh that was just okay” and close out the tab. But the response I’ve had from my beta about lines in the fics have been so encouraging and I’ve been getting more out of my head and reminded myself that I’m not writing for anyone but myself.

13. How do you hope to grow next year: I really need to stop procrastinating. It’s my biggest setback because I’m so good at putting off my writing until the veeerrrry last minute and then I’m rushed to get it done. So hopefully I’ll work on that and post something that’s not along with a fest/challenge/collab because right now, that seems to be the only way I post anything anymore.

14. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc): My fave @thecompasspointstohome who will forever be my beta because she gets me. I can always count on Liz to answer my (frequent) texts asking for help or when I’ll randomly text her “hey what if this happens in this fic would that work?” and to tell her yet another crazy idea for an au. She’s always leaving hilarious reactions in the comments on the google docs and is able to help push myself to be a better writer.

15. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year: Not really? I had some pretty heavy stuff happen to me this year and I used fic as a way to escape all of that.

16. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers: It is always scary putting out a fic anywhere let alone online. It’s basically putting yourself out there for everyone to criticize and that can be quite daunting. Just remember to write for yourself and surrounded yourself with people who will encourage you in your writing and who you can bounce ideas off of.

17. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year: I really really need to finish not only next year’s Big Bang fic (refer to procrastination above), but also my grey’s anatomy fic that’s been a wip since 2015... yikes. I also would love to post a fic that’s not related to a fest/challenge/collab just to show myself that I can do that again and I already have an idea or two of what I could post.

I know it would not happen at all because of canon, but I just adore the idea of a Raphael + Alec friendship? like, 2 BAMF who can be really closed off to others who are united by their adoration of Magnus Bane? also as an autistic I cling to autistic headcanons (autistic Alec is my fav thing and autistic Raphael is so valid). I just love the idea of the two of them grudgingly getting along, bonding over their love for Magnus, slowly realizing they have a lot in common and becoming close friends

doaijdsoaijdaoij i mean honestly i feel you? i’ll confess that i don’t talk a lot about raphael & alec more because like... i really love the relationship between raphael and magnus tbh doasaoj and fandom has a tendency to make everything about alec so i tend to hesitate before talking about them. but also like, magnus deserves for his husband and his son to be friends, you know? dahdsioah like it sucks that they’re not and there’s all this tension/bad blood there, and magnus doesn’t want it at all. and neither of them want to make magnus have to “choose” or feel weird or skirt around the subject, either. so like, i think they’d try?

and while of course canon was all sorts of fucked up and did raphael dirty as always i also don’t think that what happened between them was like... unfixable. especially because it wasn’t raphael’s fault ffs it was literally izzy’s like she triggered his addiction she was using him for the love of fuck. alec was mad because he was in protective sibling mode but i think that now that izzy is alright, if she told him what happened, he would listen to reason, you know? and while izzy did all sorts of fucked up shit to raphael, i don’t think that she would pretend that he was the villain in that story tbh. i mean she already didn’t at the time and she was kinda “in trouble” so you know

and raphael is... way too forgiving when ppl hurt him methinks lmao see how he literally didn’t blame izzy even after she helped simon (whom he not only also forgave but referred to as a great man in the finale) use his sister against him. like okay they wouldn’t actually hurt her, but... still. raphael has a tendency to hold grudges and be very calculating and unforgiving if you hurt his family or his people, but not extend the same protectiveness towards himself. which is bad and lots to unpack there and i hope he goes to therapy and relearns how to be mad about the things that were done to him and see himself as more than just someone to help his loved ones haha like father like son but it is what it is. so like... i think he’d forgive alec for that punch tbh djadjasda especially because again, he would be doing it for magnus’ sake. and there’s very little he wouldn’t do for magnus

also well he was at their wedding and that wasn’t a problem so like

my point is, i think it isn’t impossible that they would become friends, especially because they have good reason to (magnus) and also infinite time because they are all immortals as we know and we stan that uwu so... yeah

i can’t see them becoming super duper close, especially because i think that alec is just.... Too Gringo. not in a gross way, but in the way that makes raphael want to roll his eyes so hard he will be transported into a new dimension. he eats institute food and likes it. raphael loves magnus and all, but there are limits

and alec is also very Shadowhunter, in the way that he can be way too goal-oriented and think like a soldier sometimes, and while raphael, as a fellow autistic, understands the need for structure, he also gets a little annoyed at the way alec’s mind works sometimes. like they have different languages in that sense, you know? so like. it’s not a huge deal it’s not like raphael hates him but also sometimes he just wants to turn to his partners and be like “yall see this shit?” whenever alec speaks lmao

but also they can make a very great team working together, because they’re both cool headed and again, like structure, and they’re very calculating. like raphael spent decades waiting to overthrow camille and alec similarly can plan long term easily. and they are also fiercely loyal to those they love, and have that particular way of being... passionately protective about them. raphael is more cool headed than alec i think, especially when it comes to magnus lmao not because he loves him less but because he does cling to have a clear plan in mind when he needs to help others out, while alec has “i gotta make it better right now” instincts that lead to........... not brilliant decisions. but still, my point is, they could work very well together, even if raphael has to be like “ok im gonna need you to sit down and chill” sometimes

(picturing dramatic scenes where like magnus is hurt and alec stalks towards the door and raphael just runs and blocks it and they have a screaming match but raphael is just like “what are you gonna do? go out there and do exactly what the enemy wants? put magnus at further risk? i’m not gonna let you risk hurting magnus because you couldn’t sit down and think for a few seconds” and alec sets his jaw and slowly sits down, angry but knowing he’s right)

so i think they would have more the type of friendship where they aren’t like... together frequently, like, they only see each other once every few months, and when they do, it’s good, but more than that they butt heads too much. or if it’s an immortal squad gathering then alec is frequently there as well, but usually he talks more to cat than rapha. so like, it works? and so when they see each other or need to work together or something it can be pretty good

i also like cracky ideas like alec trying to gain raphael’s respect by proving to him that he can eat spicy food (he can’t, but boy will he power through it), and generally raphael and alec lowkey pranking each other dajdsaa

and i definitely LOVE alec asking raphael for help so he can surprise magnus by cooking a nice meal for him :) and raphael gives him a full course that lasts weeks because he wants the best for magnus and i actually have many thoughts about this and think this might be the moment where they switch from “lowkey awkward acquaintances with a common love for magnus” to “actually friends, even if in a teasing way”. but this ask is already too long so i’ll just. see myself out but also ask me about it tbh

This is probably such an unpopular opinion, but I trust Simeon and Barbatos about as far as I can throw them. As a rule, I don't fuck with anyone who messes with time, and I want to know why he hasn't taken Diavolo's place as king with that kind of power. And something about Simeon just seems off to me. I know he's an angel but he just seems too kind to be genuine. Also Diavolo's been kinda sus lately too. I wouldn't be surprised if they turned out to be the "villians" so to speak of this season

Okay going point by point:

NEVER mess with anyone who can not only fuck around time but also smiles when they are angry! That shit is fucked

I'm gonna give my opinion on why Barbatos hasn't dethroned Diavolo by relating it to Batman (which I spent a lot of my childhood & teenage years obsessed with...still kinda am tbh). Barbatos = Alfred Pennyworth. That's it. Look in my opinion Alfred is the most mentally & emotionally stable & competent of the batfamily and a certified badass who could and probably should dethrone Bruce. But he'd rather stay in the background giving advice mixed with thinly veiled passive aggressive sarcasm and go along with his son's boss's newest stupid plan. And that's what I see Barbatos as, the ever faithful butler content with staying in the background and making sure Diavolo's newest plan actually goes off without a hitch. I can't even bring myself to imagine him having any ideation towards the throne. (Obviously I could be wrong tho)

Diavolo's acting super sus, but (maybe I'm being naive) I genuinely think whatever happens/whatever diavolo does he's gonna believe it'll be towards the greater good/peace between all three realms. Like I can't imagine him being the villain outta a genuine need to cause harm to anyone (like Belphie was) but instead a 'sometimes you gotta hurt a few ppl/burn a few bridges to make sure the world as a whole is saved'. Still a pretty shitty ideology but hey his heart is in the right place...kinda

Okay but Simeon freaked me out in the beginning too? Like I feel better about him now (specially after seeing how he acted when directing the play) I think it was cause of how calm and serene he always was? That kinda things freaks me out a bit. It doesn't help that the idea of angels somehow scares me more than demons? In a real life context (not religious & don't believe in them, nothing against anyone who does) the idea of a being who's supposed to be wholely good who can see what you do, judge you and only treat you right if you met a certain standard is 100x more terrifying to me than a scary looking demon who you always know is out to harm you (fear of the unknown I guess). I started becoming okay with him after they showed more of his personality? Teasing Lucifer, caring about Luke that kinda thing. But if we ever get the option to date him I wouldn't be able to make myself take it cause LIs who are unconditionally/overly giving & selfless towards mc always makes me uncomfortable? I always make sure to distance myself from my mcs but obviously since I'm the one playing them my genuine emotions/reactions do govern them to an extent & LIs like that make me feel like they are expecting something in return? Even though logically ik their character was just written to be naturally caring, giving & loving towards mc without any attached expectations? This includes characters like Asra from The Arcana & Nicky from Fictif's Two Against the Wold. While I like them just fine as characters their interactions as LIs make me super uncomfortable. & I feel like Simeon has evolved from a sus character to me to one of my favs despite the fact that I'd nope the fuck outta a relationship between him & mc... This whole para makes me feel like I need therapy😑

- jk and you vibed so fast that you became close friends very quickly (the chaotic duo that tested hyung line's last nerves when you were in your mischievous mood)

-you sorta became an honorary member of the maknae line and after you pulled a prank on jin that included a chocolate cake, marmite and liquorice and ended up with jin's face shrivelling so bad that it may have caused him his first wrinkles

(his revenge was to serve you kimchi bokkeumbap with kimchi that had gone bad, which resulted in the worst heartburn you ever had ("an eye for a eye, y/n" - you, drinking your 3rd mint tea that night: "fair enough"), you redeemed yourself by buying him hyaluronic acid lotion and his favourite strawberry cheesecake, jk just laughed his ass off to the misery jin and you went through and blackmailed jin with marmite whenever they bickered ("it will hit u when u least expect it, hyung" - "I can't believed I raised lucifer himself"))

-anyway, jk and you are always very playful together, and you laugh so much when you're with him bc of his antics

-he doesn't mind being extra goofy to make you laugh, it lifts his spirits as well

-hates to see you sad/upset, namjoon and jk once spoke about you, after namjoon asked him about your guys' friendship and for the first time in ages he was sure jungkook had deeper feelings for someone, as he said: "I don't mind making a fool out of myself, if it brings a smile on y/n's face. hyung, I know this is going to sound weird but sometimes I feel like it is my purpose to show y/n everything good and funny, this is something I wanna keep doing for a long time." (tbh namjoon teared up)

-your guys' fav pastimes were watching cartoons/animes and you had a fiery competition going on in any kind of jump and run games, especially for sonic (you once beat jk after a 4 hour session and he threw a dramatic fit until you made him hot chocolate and he finally calmed down)

-would show you tons of pics and vids of gureum and filmed every minute of your first encounter

-your personal photographer tbh, you two could go chill in a parking lot and he would still do the most aesthetic shots

-despite all the funny moments you two also had serious conversations together. moments like that were rare and mostly after 2am when you two shared secrets with each other you didn't dare to speak about at daytime, like your views on love where jungkook first thought of how much he wants to be your "loved one"

-has a folder with his favourite pics of you or places that remind him of you somehow, but he'd never tell you that

- tries to impress you quiet often, like the time you went for karaoke

- cannot concentrate for shit when you're watching him during dance practice, so hobi told you, in a nice way, to stay away from dance practice for the sake of bts and jk apologised like 12 times to everyone, he got better at focusing over time and you watched him once in a while... but he'd get v shy when he had to do hip thrusts and stuff, you'd just laugh it off but in reality you were just trying to hide you how much he actually affects you, especially during a choreo like that

-the boys teased him quite a lot about you and he'd get all whiny and say it's not like he had a crush on you or something

namjoon: so you're ok with the fact y/n is on a date rn?

jungkook: WHAT

- so namjoon took out his phone and showed jk that you updated your story with some food pic where you could see a man's hand in the background, who was also tagged in the pic

namjoon: see? that guy also tagged y/n here in his pic

jk: .....

-the guys stopped teasing him the second they realized how upset jk actually was (he went completely silent, eyebrows furrowed), yoongi just stated the obvious: "our maknae is in love, huh", the boys smiled and jungkook nodded with a sad look on his face

-the next time you visited the guys jungkook was visibly flustered around you and would be just overwhelmed with the entire situation bc he wanted to know who that guy was, but he didn't know how to ask and neither did he want to intrude and what if you're taking it the wrong way and say that it's none of his business and suddenly he loses his best friend because of some stupid guy in a stupid picture and some stupid hypothetical date.... overthinking at its finest, as you can see...

-you didn't know why he became so awkward around you, the boys obviously knew but they couldn't say anything without risking jungkook completely losing his shit, but jungkook avoided you and left early when you were there and you were like "... why"...well the boys knew why but they couldn't say anything

-you tried talking to him but he tried to avoid you since he got so flustered around you that he'd stuttering, get embarrassed about it and then leave...

-you asked the boys about it, but they wouldn't say anything but tbh this was almost painful to watch for them bc they love their maknae but they knew this wasn't going anywhere.... so their eldest took the matter into his own hands and talked to you and asked you about the guy in your story.....

-shortly after that, the guys went to europe for vacation. jungkooks airport look was something for the goth look book once again, while the other guys looked bright and ready for their time off, and jin was like "oh here we go again" and once again jk helped out...

- the boys knew he kept himself busy the entire time after things got awkward with you, but they didn't exactly know what he was doing in his studio, only taehyung knew he was editing something

-so the boys were enjoying their time off and even got jungkook's mind off of you with some sightseeing and other leisure activities they had planned

-but at the end of the day, he thought of you and read your last messages over and over again. the last time you had texted was when you wished him a good time in europe and he thanked you. he sighed as he realized how your long texts with each other had turned into such short ones within 1 week

- yoongi: i cannot take this anymore, we need to do something about this

jin: i did. i invited y/n to join us.

the boys: ???

jin: all expenses on the company.

the boys: ?????????

-also, this was the first time you guys were separated, and it gave him the chance think about what he truly wants for you two, friendship or more.. he decided to confide in namjoon and jin about it and seek advice

namjoon: i'm sure y/n likes you too, and even if not, which I really doubt, at least you'll get it sorted out that way and carry on

jk: hyung, see that's the thing. if my feelings will not be reciprocated, i won't be able to continue a friendship... that's why I am so scared.

jin: y/n's coming here, tomorrow, jk, only for you, so i'm pretty sure your feelings will be reciprocated. just be honest about them.

jk: what do you mean y/n's gonna be here tomorrow?

jin: exactly that.

jk: with all due respect, hyung-nim, what the fuck

(-namjoon cackling in the background-)

-so jin explained how he asked you about joining them bc jk was so down and reassured jk that he didn't tell you anything about his feelings and that you solely come there bc you also had 2 weeks off and you wanted to spend time with him, even though jin had some convincing to do since you thought it might be awkward between jk and you

- jin: also, the supposed date on her story? that was just a night out among co-workers, so it was definitely not a date, I asked y/n about it

jk: ....... why didn't you tell me sooner? why are you telling me that a week later, when I'm in another country??

jin: remember the time you put actual fish oil in my bungeoppang?

jk:

jin: see, you did this and I'm still arranging you a romantic getaway, like the merciful god i am

jk: oh my god

jin: exactly

-jk texted you the same night and asked you where you are and said that jin told him everything. "maybe I should let the food war continue after all..", you thought and rolled your eyes. you sent jungkook a pic from the view you had from your hotel room, where you arrived a few hours prior, and he could clearly recognize that you were indeed there, as unbelievable as it was for him.

you: I can't believe jin ruined the surprise

jk: trust me, it still was a huge surprise for me

you: a good one, I hope?

jk: definitely... you know, i actually wanted to text you.

you: about the past week, i suppose?

jk: kinda. i'm going to send you something. it was done rather quickly, so have some mercy on me with that.. and please don't be mad at me

you: ok..? you're kind of worrying me here

jk: and y/n.. i won't say anything about it, it should speak for itself.. and please don't say anything about it until I see you tomorrow, ok?

you: alright..

jk: I'll see you at the café jin hyung told me about, depending on the answer you're gonna give me

you: I'll be there, no matter what

-what he sent you was a gcf with your name as the title and what followed was a beautiful compilation of your favourite moments you and jungkook had shared, and some moments you weren't even aware of the fact that he was filming you..some scenes, for example: your guys' trip to lotte world, you giggling into the camera when turned the cam to both of you wearing bunny ears, you laughing your ass off while filming him dancing to cl's "hello bitches", you on the day you went to the planetarium together, the time you came over to his place with food after he was too exhausted to do anything after practice and you watched "spirited away" together, then you playing with gureum while he giggles behind the camera, you being bts' no 1 hype man during their concert preparations, some videos where you cheered for him during the days you two spent apart bc of award shows.... and at the end of the video there was a single picture of you two, where you smiled widely into the camera, while he looked at you with a shy smile on his face... and finally, you heard his voice saying the words which appeared on screen: "be my loved one".

- the next day, jungkook was waiting for you in the café opposite the church, where you would come to as well. he was nervous as hell and honestly he still wasn't sure if you're actually going to come there or if jin played a prank on him. he checked his texts again and again and just stared at the "read" sign beneath the text and the video he sent you and mentally slapped himself for telling you to keep your answer to yourself until you meet him in the café. he started overthinking again, to a point where he zoned out so much that he didn't even notice 6 guys with huge sunglasses and a suspicious lot of newspapers, sitting at another table what finally made him snap back into reality was the sound of someone pulling the chair at his table, which instantly made him turn around only to see you sitting down next to him, right at the moment when the bells started ringing. undoubtedly, the colour yellow has never made jungkook happier.

-at the dorms with the boys after you left your company dinner party early-

jimin: why'd you come back so early?

you: because SOMEONE almost broke my co-workers hand during a handshake
