WHAT IF THERE WERE TWO BEDS?
so you know how near the end of book two, belly, conrad and jeremiah crash at the motel? there was originally one bed but now there's two!!!! i like the idea of there being two beds just for a little bit more angst with belly and conrad. belly still gets a bed and conrad would just tell jeremiah to take the other one while he camps in the middle.
and that's what happened at first. belly and jeremiah were in their beds and conrad was in the middle with two sheets and pillows he took off the beds. but as usual, conrad and belly gravitate to each other.
maybe it explains why he's clutching onto her sheets and why she's nearly off her bed, reaching towards him.
maybe it explains why when she wakes up first, her first instinct is the reach out towards him and brush the hair out of his face.
maybe it explains why when he wakes up shortly after, he wants to hold her hand and just breathe
but it doesn't happen. none of it does.
they don't talk about the almost-touches or the staring or the looks of despair.
they don't talk about what he said the night before.
it's their secret.
it's easier that way.
but it does hurt that when belly comes out of the bathroom later, she no longer looks at conrad the way she used to.
but neither does he.
