Eyeliner is allowed to be shaky

Acne is allowed to be visible

Makeup is allowed to look messy/unpolished

Skin doesn’t have to look smooth and blemish-less

You don’t have to wear foundation

You can wear just eyeshadow and nothing else

You can wear just lip makeup and nothing else

Your eyes don’t have to look bigger if you don’t want them to

Your lips don’t have to look bigger if you don’t want them to

Your nose doesn't have to look smaller if you don't want it to

You don’t have to accentuate your cheekbones and chin if you don’t want to

You don’t have to look young

Neck and facial fat are not shameful things and do not need to be hidden/compensated for

No color of lipstick, eyeshadow, etc. is “off-limits” because of your skin tone

No style of makeup is “off-limits” because of your eye, nose, etc. shape

It's okay if your mobility issues limit what you can do with makeup

Makeup that looks over-the-top or theatrical isn’t tacky

Makeup that “looks like it’s from the drug/dollar store” isn’t tacky

Makeup worn by Black and Brown women isn’t tacky

Traditional makeup isn’t tacky

Makeup that doesn’t follow current trends isn’t tacky

You can wear makeup to look ugly or gross

You can wear makeup to look strange or inhuman

You can wear makeup to look however you want, not just beautiful

Stop insulting and attacking children + trans, queer, or/ gender-nonconforming people for experimenting with makeup

cringe is always due to one's self-perception. those that put others down for existing in the way that feels most authentic, comfortable, do it purely for either self-gratification or fear of others' perception of the self.

example: someone's LGB and cringes at a trans person's gender expression. they fear how others will see *them* based on the community-association.

example 2: a system sees an endo plural and fakeclaims them, bc it makes them feel more valid/real.

both of these cases are the same myth rearing its ugly head: the myth that putting others down makes *anything* better. cringe has and will always bring nothing but harm to *all* parties involved. it spreads harmful stereotypes, perpetuates insecurities and pushes folx further away from self-discovery and authenticity.
