appletail is hornetthroat’s mother, here she is seen with tansykit and rosekit

rookheart is emberwhisker’s mate and they have had two kits together; lilypaw and lionpaw

cuckoopaw and slugpaw are not directly related, but they act like sisters

MistClan! A clan that lives near a lake, where mist clouds the area. These cats are good with their senses, which is needed when the mist gets so heavy you can’t see a few mouse lengths in front of you.

PlumStar is the father of CootPaw.. remember him? Most of this clan doesn’t interact with the other cats in clans, but they ARE like RiverClan.. irresistibly sexy hehe. AppleLeg and GorseClaw are mates, the parents of MyrtlePaw and CrowPaw. GorseCloud and CootStripe are the parents of CarpPaw, I’m retconning and saying CuckooPaw is CarpPaw’s sibling. LightHeart and NightBlaze have a first litter, WhitePaw and HollyPaw. I’m thinking CuckooPaw is actually the medicine apprentice :^)

PlumStar and LightHeart are also siblings, so are HornetHeart and GourseCloud, and ShadowBriar and AppleLeg.

pickerelstripe/claymew person here to say that the clanmew vs claymew interpretation of cuckoos is SO FUNNY to me... especially because heart rot has a character named cuckoopaw... I have GOT to do some silly art for the cultural differences

To be fair this is totally up to whatever the clan culture of a given fanclan is like LMAO, the cuckoo = EVIL association is just present in the base project. There is no obligation for anyone else to take it

OR it can absolutely be taken and played with, Cuckoo is the sort of incredibly strong word that would show up in Dishonor Titles for especially heinous crimes.

ANYWAY. that title in the post is basically a catch-all of the folder of half-forgotten ideas regarding my sims 3 warriors challenge that i have in my docs. featuring such delights as:

histories and cultures of the 6 clans and various other groups of cats in the area

possible rework of the 9 lives system to be based in reincarnations

character profiles for everyone whose plotlines and traits i have now forgotten

illnesses and conditions

random event generators

herbs and their uses

names. so many names

and an in-progress database diagram that i’m going to implement using a python bot! because of course i am. here it is because i can only imagine you’re absolutely hyped to see it:

and below the cut of this already very long post, i’m going to actually talk about what probably is the actual purpose of this tag game and you wanted to know, which is (what i remember of) the story i had

there were originally 3 clans in the area: Forestclan, Riverclan, and Barnclan. in the backstory preceding the game, Riverclan was formerly run by a brutal tyrant whose name has been erased from history. this not only ruined all the Riverclanners’ lives but had ripple effects on its neighbours: Forestclan, sharing a border with them, suffered many attacks as Riverclan attempted to expand. this came to a head when the tyrant had the Forestclan healer murdered with no successor - that winter, Forestclan lost most of its number to a plague, and most of the rest fled.

Barnclan faced its own challenges - as refugees fled the other two clans, many came to them, seemingly safe due to their separation by busy roads and with famously good hunting grounds in the Twoleg farms. unfortunately, partly blamed on the newcomers not knowing the etiquette of the area and how to avoid human attention, but in truth mostly just because of the sheer swell of numbers, the Twolegs started taking notice. there was a concerted effort by the local cat rescues to capture ferals, while some landowners took more direct action, and both the working animals of the farms and the other wild animals in the area had their own complaints.

eventually Riverclan overthrew the tyrant, killed her, drove out the last loyalists - but the damage was done. few cats remained in each clan. i started the game with i think 6 cats for each:

Forestclan - Ravenfang, Elmfur, and Tigerstorm were all that originally remained, loyal to the bitter end. unwilling to give in, Tigerstorm sought out his bastard son by one of the farm cats across the way, who turned down his offer to join but reluctantly gave him the rough location of his own kits. he brought back not only his granddaughter, renamed Tigerpaw and then Tigerpelt after himself, but her two best friends: Minkpaw, to be Minkfang, and Martenheart. Tigerpaw trained with her grandfather; Martenpaw was taken under the wing of Ravenfang, a once-ambitious young tom who wasn’t noticed much until he was one of the last left. Elmfur trained Minkpaw in between raising his young daughter, Sedgekit (by the game’s start, Sedgepaw), sired by one of the now-dead Riverclan warriors.

Riverclan - had the most original members left, numbering Snowpelt, Russettail, Rushcloud, Newtclaw, and Emberstorm, as well as Snowpelt’s daughter Bramblepaw and an orphan kit they brought in, Cuckoopaw. they were quickly joined by the former loner Magpieclaw, as well, and came in with the clearest choice for leader - Newtclaw, who had led the rebellion against the tyrant and ultimately put her down.

Barnclan - left with Buzzardheart and Fallowflower, Robinpelt, and the siblings Hollynose and Copperpaw, as well as recruiting a pair of loner siblings Sheepwhisker and Crowpaw. Buzzardheart and Fallowflower were longterm mates, distinctly older than the others, and basically the shoe-ins for new leader and deputy - Fallowflower taking the latter due to her quick pregnancy and wanting to focus more on raising the two resulting kits, Mousekit and Shrewkit.

aaand then much drama ensued that i may actually talk about because in writing this i realised how much i miss these guys! they were originally based on a number of my ocs. that went out the window... a while ago, lmao. it should also be noted that by now im legitimately into the “grandchildren of founders” generations. and some of these cats are also dead! RIP Robinpelt who died of a stroke like the day before her kits were apprenticed in the first in-game winter.

god. miss em. if nothing else maybe i’ll just make a bunch of posts about these guys on my warrior cats blog i also haven’t touched in like multiple years now.

i think you’ve mentioned magpiekit before (snowstar & blackcloud’s sibling who died?) would the story be any different if they had hypothetically survived? 👀

i actually ended up retconning magpiekit !! they had very little effect on the plot in the first hand and narratively i think it just fit better for coot to have only had snowkit and blackkit who got these views of her dumped on, but magpiekit has alas been retconned/scrapped completely now since they really didnt have a huuuge effect on the plot (they were going to show up at minks nine lives ceremony but that was replaced) 

BUT had snowstar and blackcloud had a third sibling, i dont think too much would have changed? if anything, said sibling wouldve been ostracized from the family because they didnt “fit in” to cootwhiskers views of what her family would become (especially when cuckoopaw became the seer) so! they would honestly just be ostracized and distanced from the family, blackcloud would still be under strict control by her mother and her sister unfortunately :<

Do you think you'll ever do a one-shot for Cuckoopaw and maybe Houndpelt?

oh DEFO i really want to. i have a lot written already for a Houndpelt oneshot but I worry its too 'warrior cats focused' and not like radiation focused, in a way, with it being solely before the bomb with only a little post-bomb stuff. I think the Houndpelt oneshot will be pre bomb and a potential Cuckoopaw one would be post-bomb because they have a LOT of stuff to do in WoodClan now they are back... i think any oneshots that overlap with TGL3 will be posted afterwards
