something unique from me! traditional drawing with gouache this idea came to me in the summer, when i rewatched old Overwatch animatic short "Dragons" and i absolutely loved the illustrations with dragons! So it's kinda inspired me to create something like this, cuz i also wanted to draw a traditional illustration with dragon love Shimada brothers sm <3

ok so i was wondering if you could do something that evolves around the idea that the reader is pregant and genji or hanzo not knowing yet while the noodles find out and are more protective of her

Genji:

Out of nowhere, you started to wake up with Soba standing over your pillow

The little green dragon usually preferred to sleep on her perch at the window, instead of watching with the usually intimate displays of affection in the bed- in fact, she avoided the bed altogether usually

At first you thought maybe you’d made a strange noise in your sleep and she was just worried

But more and more you’d wake to her eyes above you, staring intensely down at you from the headboard

One night Genji got home from a mission, and you woke to the sound of him yelling, and a rippling snarl coming from a growing dragon blocking the door out of the room

Genji was stuck in the hall, and for the life of you, neither of you could get Soba to change or stop her from preventing him from coming in your shared room

That next morning, a wave of nausea hit and you were sent to the bathroom in a great hurry. The nausea remained even as the contents of your stomach were emptied, and you sat beside the toilet, holding your hair back

A soft touch made you open your eyes- Soba was rubbing her little whiskers on your stomach, booping her nose above your belly button and purring

You stared down at her in confusion, before a thought hit you. When was your last period, you thought?

“Genji-,” you called. “I think we need to go to a doctors office!”

Soba sat smugly in your lap the entire way home from the doctors.

Hanzo:

In a way Hanzo described as disgraceful, the noodles always had an incredible soft spot for you

They adored you, and often left their spiritual tattoo to get snuggles in your arms and blem their little tongues out of their mouth

You spoiled them- how could you not? You’d never had a pet before, and you often liked to think that as they were a part of Hanzo, that maybe they were the physical form of his intense love for you

The noodles, as Hanzo begged you to stop calling them, usually weren’t so bad mannered as to not obey Hanzo when called- but for the first time, in the heat of battle no less, the dragons did not appear

Hanzo had no way of knowing that the noodles were following you throughout the day

You didn’t even know till the evening- they had snuck in your car and gone grocery shopping with you, had followed you into the bank and perhaps robbed a woman of their purse dog, and nearly made it through the day without you finding out

Until a loud dog across the street started barking. And when you looked, two dragons the size of cars were starting to walk across the street and snarl

“No! Guys, come here!” you called, a bit frantic.

Its like the two sensed your panic, instantly racing to you and becoming the side of german shepherds. The two wrapped around you, rubbing their cheeks on your sides

At first you thought Hanzo was home, but when you called he let out a loud, angry huff. “That’s where they are? Outrageous. I’m on my way home!” he had said.

You knew though something was up-the intensity in their gaze, the way they couldn’t look away from you...

“What’s up with you, guys?” you’d asked, and rubbed their snouts.

They just snorted, and when you finally went and sat they curled up on your lap.

It wasn’t for another two months almost before you found out you were pregnant- and suddenly, the noodles continuously odd and rather nerve-wracking behavior made sense

“They are protecting our family,” Hanzo had said softly, putting a hand over your stomach in awe. “Thank you....noodles,” he’d said.

I'm fairly new to overwatch, and I was wondering... does magic exist in the overwatch universe?? Like, for quite a while, we've only seen sci-fi like technology rather than anything supernatural, but with a character like Kiriko, I don't really see how that can be explained away as science or machines? There's also Hanzo and Genjis dragons, which I also don't think can really be explained by science.

Ok, this is a question even the characters ask.

Mercy had an old voiceline with Zenyatta where she wanted to know how he healed and refused to believe it was magic.

Now as for the whole magic abilities if the Shimadas + Kiriko, the thing is we don't have any concrete answers. It could be magic, it could also be genetic experimentation, or some sort of hard light technology, or a combination of the both, we don't have any confirmation as far as I know.

But to be fair, a lot of the time in both media and real life, magic is just another word for science. The fox and dragon spirits might seem magical to us and the other characters, but there might be a scientific explanation to them. Same with Zenyatta and Ramattra, they might get they're abilities from the Iris, but we don't even know what the Iris is.

Magic could be real in the Overwatch world, or all of it could be an undiscovered scientific discovery/experiment.

Genshin Impact Au, kinda. Didn't know which sibling should be which, but Aether is usually accepted to be the older twin (I think??) so it's Hanzo.

Also, in the first two the Dainsleif and Paimon are just the dragons ; the third one Kiriko is Paimon

Genji was playing on one of the arcade machines he had visited a few days ago. The dragon was disguised in his human form, of course, and even dressed in more modern clothes. Jeans, sneakers and a hooded jacket. It didn't take long for him to be able to follow the game's operation. Even looked like an expert. Leaving his name at the top of the list of those who beat the game.

He was waiting for Cole to return from work. He hated feeling trapped inside the hotel room. Now that the dragon felt more confident to walk the streets alone. He decided to go out for a bit and play at his favorite spot. As soon as he felt the presence of his master approaching, he stopped playing and went to meet him. Just as a tender smile was given to the newcomer.

"You're finally back! Why did you take so long? I was already imagining that I would eat dinner alone this time. But it's good to see you again, Master-- I mean, Cole."

Dragons' Blessing AU (or, I wanted to see giant dragon Hanzo so I made it happen)

AU details and rambles under cut :D

The "curse" is not actually a curse, but more of a gift for being so devote to the dragons for all this time. The clan elders, however, didn't took it like that

About Hanzo:

At 40 years old, he's a 25 meters dragon hybrid. He has horns and teeth and scales loitering some part of his body, specially areas surrounding his more draconic traits. He also has a tail that is almost as long as him.

He's very different from canon Hanzo. He's mostly innocent in day-to-day life experiences, but extremely emotionally mature, mostly because of his upbringing.

Regarding diet, he tend to lean towards meat of any kind, but he can eat most things a regular human would eat. The only think that is "out of boundaries" is spicy food, for whatever reason, but that only makes him sick if eaten

He's also kind of like a snake in regards of if he eats too much he keeps growing without a limit. He learns this fairly quickly, but not before reaching the 20 meters in height

Despite the was he was raised, he's fairly friendly. Even if he doesn't like someone, he won't even try to avoid their presence, in part because he believes that his perception of them can be changed.

One would say he also has cat traits, in a way. He ears twitch and his tail language is very similar to those of cats. He also is known to take naps under the sun and has an appreciation of sea food. And he purrs, a lot.

AU story:

A long time ago, the Shimada clan was "cursed" by the same dragons they are devote to: the first born of the current head was to be, in part, a dragon hybrid.

Because of this curse, the current head is always planned to have at least 2 children: the firstborn cursed as a dragon hybrid and who was hidden away from the public eye, and the actual heir.

Hanzo just so happened to be the most part dragon there's ever been in recorded history.

He was hidden from a very young age. Hanzo was kept in a small cell under a basement specially made to keep the other cursed members of the clan. Sojiro took care if him by virtue of that being his son, but the moment Hanzo learnt how to eat on his own he dissapeared from his life.

For his whole life, Hanzo was only fed scraps, which made him severely malnourished, and stunted his growth, making him big but not extremely so.

He was also often reminded of his true place, of the curse that laid upon them, and how he was just another proof of it.

5 years after Hanzo's birth, Genji is born

Genji has always had a tendency to wander where he's not allowed. On his 5th birthday, he finds the small basement with the cell, and the dragon-hybrid boy in it. Genji is well aware dragons are important for the clan, so he finds it very cool this boy has dragon traits! Just like the stories!

Hanzo is aware Genji is part of his kin, as he can feel the curse running inside of him. He tries to be nice with him tho, as he's just a kid and deserves none of the consequences for the actions of people before him.

Genji starts sneaking out more and more, spending time with Hanzo. He soon discovers he's never left that cell, and promises him that he'll take him to see the stars once he becomes the head of the clan. Hanzo doesn't have the heart to argue that.

They eventually become close, but Genji is not aware Hanzo's situation is considered a curse, or that he's his brother.

But once Genji reaches a certain age, Sojiro decides to introduce him to the curse, and show him proof of it being real: his older brother Hanzo, half dragon and half man

Genji doesn't take this well: the 5 meters man whose basically became part of his family is actually his family? He's been witnessing his own brother be treated like this and he didn't do anything to stop it? He hides his true feelings but... It breaks his heart. No matter what, nobody should be treated like an animal

More than even, Genji promises to himself he'll get Hanzo out of there.

One day, he hears about Overwatch and, well, apparently they have a talking gorilla! Maybe, if he joins their ranks... Maybe they can help him find a place where Hanzo can be!

Hanzo is not very optimistic about this. His whole life, he's been told the outside world wouldn't be so caring of him. He doesn't know if this "Overwatch" would accept him, but Genji looks so eager he doesn't want to tell him no

Amongst tears, Genji escapes the clan and joins Overwatch

Without the heir, the clan is weak and eventually falls, leaving Hanzo without a way of escaping, and is left to rot in the dark basement cell.

Overwatch falls so much sooner than expected

Alone and without a place to be. Genji is frantically looking somewhere where Hanzo can live in peace. He tries for many years but none of the places he visits convinces him

Eventually, the recall occurs. Genji answers, and decides to explain the whole situation to Winston, who approves the rescue mission for his brother

7 years after Genji left, he once again enters the basement. For the first time since the clan fell, someone enters the basement where Hanzo is still trapped

Hanzo is in a terrible shape. He's bonier than when Genji left, his hair hasn't been cut in forever, he's filthy and has obviously been feeding himself with whatever animal gets into the cell. It's not a great sight.

But the moment he lays his eyes on Genji, he begins to cry, relief flooding him. His brother, his little brother is finally back! He didn't break his promise!

The rescue mission goes smoothly, in most part because Hanzo is really gentle and trusts this strangers Genji trusts, but also because the team was well aware of what to expect with Hanzo, so they weren't terrified of him.

That night, after 28 years, Genji fulfils his first promise to Hanzo, and he can see the starry sky for the first time.

i think hanzo- at least pre/young teen hanzo- would’ve played alot of video games and is kind of the one who instilled the love in genji (and kiriko, but more genji because it’s actlly part of his characrwr) drawing from my own childhood experiences. both kiri and genji would, absolutely, bug hanzo to finish a level or two for them when there’s a puzzle they aren’t able to figure out. hanzo would’ve probably scared them with herobrine
