Guide to Binding Without A Binder

Safety:

1. If you at any time feel uncomfortable or struggle to breathe, stop.

2. Never bind more than 8 hours

3. Never sleep in a binder

4. Don’t bind while exercising

5. Don’t use duct tape or ace bandages!!!

6. Using a binder from a trusted seller, such as gc2b, is the safest method of binding.

If don’t have or can’t get a binder:

1. Look for binder programs that donate to those who cannot afford them. Such as (Point of Pride and Big Brother Binder Program)

2. Improvise: (*note: none of these methods are 100% safe and I am not a doctor. If anything hurts, stop!!!*)

          -Wear a camisole (with a built-in bra) backwards and fold it up 2-3 times

          -Wear a tight-fitting compression sports bra or compression shirt

          -Wear 2 sports bras, the first of which should be put on backwards. (Be careful though, this can definitely restrict your breathing). 

3. Minimize your chest without any binding technique at all by wearing loose-fitting shirts, button down shirts, shirts with chest pockets, shirts with patterns like plaid, etc.

*note* I am pretty small chested and small framed in general, so I have no clue how well these would work if you have a larger chest. If anyone with experience in this area has ideas/suggestions, feel free to add on!

I wanted to use this blog to demonstrate a bit of the personal side of making a business. We’ve sunk a lot of money into getting Spouti™ created so I make a lot of our tools myself. This time it’s a photo box! Taking good photos isn’t easy if you don’t have good lighting and right now spending 50 bucks on a lightbox and so here is our improvised version!  So far I’m happy with the results and I added a few extra holes so I can position the lights differently. It’s a work in progress and I will have to get familiar with the best angles - but I loved the photos I got with it and I wish I had made it before!

Proof Humanity isn't completely failing #...2

It's been a pretty tough year so far, due to a lot of personal problems and family issues its lead to some pretty intense public breakdowns. And thankfully my boyfriend has been there for pretty much all of them.

One day we were in a not so busy but sort of busy city area of where I live, and we were both not doing so hot so we sat on a bench, he slung my legs over his lap and we sat and held each other as I cried on his shoulder.

I'm just barely calming down when this really professionally dressed women (maybe late 40's) walked up to us with a determined look, I tensed up badly thinking that the both of us, as trans male teenagers showing heavy amounts of 'pda' in public, were about to get in trouble for displaying something like that in front of somone's home/business/work(etc...) As soon as she reaches us I pull my legs off my boyfriends lap and keep my head down because like hell I wanted this total stranger seeing my tear stained face.

When out of the blue she holds up a Starbucks doggy bag, by this time my boyfriend and I are thoroughly confused when suddenly the women smiles, pulls out two pink cake pops and says, "I saw you guys having a bad day and thought you needed a sweet treat to help, it is a beautiful day outside so just remember to keep smiling." She handed us each one and walked away.

After she left I hugged my boyfriend and I couldn't help but to cry once more, as never in my life had I ever expected something like that to come our way.

I've never had much faith in humanity, especially growing up where I have in the environment of this place, but every time I think about that day my heart warms and it reminds me that the world isnt completely made up of bad people. And no matter how many adults or elders or even younger people decide to discriminate, there is always someone who has decided to change.
