I absolutely love stranger things ships where one or both of the characters are tranemasc in the fics, it makes my little trans heart soar but I need you guys to know

binders, the binders you're thinking of, did not exist in the 80s. not the design or the material youre thinking, people were binding in any way they could for thousands of years, trans or not but not with binders. the design that you see around here nowadays are only 15 maybe 14 years old and weren't widely available in stores like walmart or target untill like 2017, you could get them online almost exclusively or if you were lucky a specialize shop that would sell you one at very expensive prices. you couldn't BUY a binder when I was a young teen, not anywhere physically, these boys couldn't go out and buy one in the 80s.

in the 80s you wore ace bandages, made your own thing, (usually out of a girdle or something like that), or sports tape if you were more educated in things like that (some instances any tape, even duct tape) and all of them were unsafe in one way or another, you wore these things and there would always be pain in some way eventually. they also weren't rlly called binders.

if you're into historical accuracy put these dudes in PAIN, which in my opinion makes for a much more interesting storytelling. the angst surrounding their health alone.

Theory...

What if Neil actually murdered Billy's mom? What if she was planning to run off with little Billy but Neil found out? Then Neil disposed of her body and told Billy that she left them, left him.

And the real reason that Neil moved them to Hawkins is cuz the news mentions a Jane Doe body being found where he'd ditched the body YEARS earlier. So he freaks out and moves the family to bum fuck no where.

I havent been able to sleep since I thought of this.

Steve’s parents have been staying home recently from his father losing his job at the firm and they have been noticing bruises on his face a lot lately and immediately think Steve’s been getting into fights and causing trouble. Instead of asking Steve what’s going on they give him an ultimatum either military school or being homeless.

Steve reluctantly choice’s military school.

Billy after constant threats of being sent to military school by dad he finally sticks to his word after billy comes home with out max after the fight with Steve. When they both get there they are furious but seeing each other makes it worse but to top it off they are to be roommates.

I haven’t wrote this it’s just a idea of mine.

Thursday 30th March ✩ “Roleplaying” (Flip-Reverse) @harringrove-flip-reverse-it

“Billy?”

No reply.

He could’ve sworn he heard giggling.

Probably just next door.

Steve walks over to the kitchen retrieving his coffee. When he arrived home Billy was fast asleep, a usual habit right after class. Steve’s been busying himself with light cleaning and leftover classwork.

He grumbles at cigarette butts littering the coffee table, it’s a habit his boyfriend’s been trying to kick for a while but sometimes he relapses.

He brushes them into the trash and moves towards the fireplace, righting any lopsided decor. There are photo’s dating all the way back to 10th grade when they first met, picking one up he wipes it fondly.

It’s been six years of love, conflict and forgiveness.

Steve bites his lip, he’s been mulling over the decision of getting down on one knee, even has the ring picked! It’s been broached as abstract over the dinner table but when Steve gets into the details he tends to clam up. It's been real hard navigating the landmine of Billy Hargrove’s feelings.

His boyfriend is a free spirit, a wild bird and he’d never want to make Billy feel as though he’s tie-ing down him down.

There’s movement in the bedroom again, now Billy’s laughter is loud and clear. Steve can hear words being said so he puts his ear against the door trying to decipher.

'Oh no, Billy what are you doing?? WHERE ARE YOU GOING?”

A pause,

'Steve not you too! can you please pick her up at least?"

The blonde normally talks to himself when playing games, it’s a cute quirk he’s always had. Steve especially loves to hear his stream of thoughts when they play horror games together, never ceases to crack him up.

He turns the handle walking in. Billy is faced away playing on that crappy school provided Chromebook. Strange.. he normally uses the PC in the living room for personal things

"Babe?"

His boyfriend spins in the chair, slamming the laptop shut. The fan working overtime, an awkward ambience.

"oh, hey Steve."

"What are you playing?"

He spins around a few times “Nothing…”

Steve walks up to him, stilling Billy's chair. "Can I see?" He uses those irresistible puppy eyes. "Please?"

"Fine... don’t laugh"

He opens the laptop showcasing a household on a new game he’s been obsessing over, Steve still can’t really understand the allure. It also has a funky name, Simps? Sism?

Billy shyly gives a tour of a family consisting of Steve and him, happily married with three kids. Lillian, Sammy and Cecilia.

Steve raises an eyebrow. “Do I not get a say on our children's names?”

Billy looks away, blushing. "I thought you wouldn't be interested.."

Steve laughs, kissing his cheek, “Is this us in the future?"

His face tints red. "Maybe"

Steve smiles into the affection. He knows what he's got planned for their next date.

I don’t know if sims counts as a role playing game but to it does to me >:) , I’m gonna queue this one since it’s my birthday!! and I’m gonna be out, love coming back home to the plethora of Billy content <3

“Oh my god, pretty boy, just fucking do it already.”

Max freezes in her tracks in front of Billy's door, the juice in her cup sloshing from the sudden stop.

“What if it hurts? I don't wanna hurt you.”

Max does NOT want to wonder what her not-brother and his not-so-secret boyfriend are doing in Billy's room, she is just grateful the door is closed.

She does wonder if they realised she was home.

She got tired of waiting for a ride that wasn't going to show up and left the party at the arcade, rolling her eyes at Dustin trying to ring Steve AGAIN, glad she'd taken her board.

“For fucks sake, Harrington, it's not that hard. Just do it already.”

“Oh so what, you want me to... to just... shove it in?”

Oh god.

“I'M HOME!” Max bellows. “THANKS FOR THE RIDE, ASSHOLE!”

She hears some swearing and some scrambling then footsteps approaching before the door is cracked open and Steve stands in the doorway.

Max peers over his shoulder to see Billy sitting on the bed looking thunderous as usual. She ignores him and looks at Steve. His hair is a mess but at least he is fully clothed.

“Um, hi Max. Sorry, we, um, didn't realise it was this late.”

He glances back in the room then looks at her again.

“Hi Steve.” She gives him her biggest shit eating grin. “What are you guys doing?”

“No-nothing much.”

Something is dripping from Steve's hand onto the floor. Max narrows her eyes at Steve when she realises he’s holding an ice cube and he flinches.

Good.

She slams her hand on the door, forcing it open and pushes past Steve, glaring at her brother as she walks over to him. He looks up at her, and has the decency to look vaguely sorry.

“Really, asshole. You asked him to do it? I can’t fucking believe you, right now.”

“Max—”

“No, we talked about this. I’m the only one who’s allowed to pierce your ears!”

Harringrove ambient for sleeping

So. There's these two audios youtube has decided to throw at me:

Sleeping next to Billy Hargrove (sound of rain, dude's breathing, a bit of background music in the beginning, one hour)

Sleeping next to Steve Harrington (sound of rain, very steve-sounding dude's making little noises while he sleeps, one hour)

The first one was a bit on the nose for me with his intense breathing out (I don't even like asmr to begin with), although generally nice, the second one has landed really fucking good on me but I've felt like it needs more salt.

So I've decided to put them both on at the same time. And it was really fucking good. So I've decided to suddenly learn me some audio editing.

I've combined both of those audios into one, as they were, not changing anything, (can be found here, on google drive, 149.5 Mb), for more convenient listening than youtube, (the original author, Celeste, is a literal god, please like both of their videos if you're gonna use my edits).

It turned out nicely, but then I've decided that it needs to be LONGER and with MORE MUSIC, and some fiddling with Steve's track (flipped left/right channels for him so the overall combined rain could become more 3d). Six hours later it looked like this:

I put the music track at the very low volume, with some reverb, so it would sound like it's in another room, quite closely resembling music in the Hargrove audio, so there's no difference to be noticed at the change.

The playlist choice is a bit anachronistic (not everything is 80's) but for me it all worked quite well together:

I think my favorite personal Steve & Robin friendship headcanon is that Robin is the one to break the news to Steve that he is, in fact, bisexual. like, he is so blissfully unaware of it. has no idea. makes off-handed comments about guys he finds attractive, “but, like, not in a gay way” and Robin is watching like oh you sweet summer child you have no idea, do you? how do you not know?

and for a while she lets it go because she wants to see how long it takes for him to catch on that his feelings might maybe be at least a tiny bit gay, but he is taking too long. and talking too often about how much he likes spending time with Billy. and Billy is so obviously flirting with him and Steve just thinks he’s being nice??? and so one day Robin has to gently sit Steve down and be like, “Okay, strap in, and don’t freak out, but I think you’re suppressing your bisexuality and it is honestly painful to watch. Billy isn’t being nice to you, he wants to get in your pants, and you are absolutely giving him the vibe that you’d be cool with that.”

and Steve is dumbfounded. he just sits there staring at her for a long time, and she’s not sure what else to say so she explains to him what bisexuality is and he just nods along taking it all in and is eventually like, “You know what? That makes sense.” and excuses himself to go kiss Billy on the mouth, goodbye.
