He’s held hands tons of times before (duh) but he feels like it’s more special when it’s with the one that he loves

guys there are so many messages like this in my inbox including from like the day that vol. 1 dropped so let me publicly apologize now for everyone i have NOT responded to, i am such an ass.

so let me get this out of the way at the top: while my ENTIRE SOUL craves their reunion as soon as possible, i do actually value the plot of this show above all else (hell, putting plot over feelings is what makes season 1 and season 2 so delicious; while i screamed at nancy going back to steve in the s1 finale it also made for the most incredible angst and tension for s2, i love it) and so feel like some of these following thoughts may surprise?

i don't expect it to come early. i expect it after the (first?) big vecna battle because...

i think the (first?) big vecna battle might happen simultaneously across all american locations; so you've got jonathan, will, mike, argyle and el in nevada with el going into max's mind; nancy, steve and robin (g1) and eddie and dustin (g2) in the upside down; and lucas, max and erica in the creel house in Real Hawkins. and i think/hope that el's entrance into max's mind comes relatively late, thus surprising vecna and causing what appears to be a false victory for our heroes because...

i think vecna is still going to be the primary threat for season 5, and i think/hope that he will also either be using el or using... will...

because i think that's what will's "he's not going to stop until he kills everyone" line is really about in the vol. 2 trailer. i think (i hope?) the first season ends with will getting got in vecna's spell, and being used as vecna's minion, because i think it's vecna who wanted him all along. that the demogorgon scared him in season 1 episode 1, but that vecna is what got him in the shed. what brought him to the other side. because i think (i hope?) will has powers, too.

i realize that NONE of that is jancy but i needed to get that out of the way because what i want for jancy is this:

i want nancy to be able to express her relief that jonathan is finally, finally there because i think the subtext of her entire attitude this season, especially since fred died, has been "i miss him and i wish he was here with me" and she has been afraid or unwilling to say it aloud, for whatever reason. so i want the relief to be on her face, on her body, hell i want it to come out of her mouth. i want her to hug him with her entire soul because she is finally, finally safe in his arms again.

i want jonathan to apologize for not calling, to explain why they are there and why they had to be so silent about it, to fill THE ENTIRE teen gang, but especially nancy, in on what happened with them this whole time. i want nancy to do the same in return.

(i want the argyle in person introduction to be funny. please. this is gonna be heavy. let us laugh.)

i want them to get a quiet moment to themselves, and i want them to talk. even if they can't resolve everything now, i want them to trust each other enough to express their fears about the future, worries about college, concerns about their ability to be long distance. and i want them to reaffirm that it's hard but it's worth it; they made a vow at the end of season 3, and i want them to reiterate it. because they meant it. i was there, i saw it with my own damn eyes.

and i want them to fucking kiss.

and then i want the entire world to go to shit as will rises into the air under vecna's influence and for the season to end on a motherfucking hell of a cliffhanger.

will i get what i want? lolololololololol no fucking way. i never do. but i hope i get at least some of that. i think my desires for the reunion are reasonable. it's not asking too much.

and, you know, if i don't get it, well, i'm gonna go stand on some lawns and do some really loud, angry shouting. (jk, i'm gonna write a million fanfic about it)

For the last couple of months, only Server Boosters had access to the 3.5 update... Buuuuut now it's available for everyone to play in the 14DWY Discord — and soon itch.io once I'm happy with the QA and state of the game — so please don't feel pressured to join unless you want to!!

What's been added to the 3.5 version?

📺 Streamer Mode!

I've been told that it's difficult to stream and monetise age-restricted videos on YouTube and Twitch, so I added an option to remove the sexual content and strong language used in the demo.

Now y'all can invite Ren into your bed for cuddles without putting your streamer career on the line /silly /lh

This won't affect the 18+ rating or dark themes/elements of the game, however! Although Streamer Mode will prevent you from seeing any "gruesome" CGs in the future, most of the core elements of the game will still be tied to the choices and decisions you make. So you won't miss out on the overall experience by using streamer mode!!

⚙️ Custom Pronouns!

It only took me one entire year to get around to it, but you can finally choose your own preferred pronouns (or use a set of pronouns instead)... At the cost of being able to change them mid-game ^^;

Since the original pronoun screen wouldn't update until a new scene was displayed, I temporarily disabled the feature. But once I find a workaround, I'll bring it back!

💗 Choose how others perceive you!

You can now choose how the cast and narration perceive you! Originally, the narration was kept strictly gender-neutral (outside of pronouns and genitalia picked by the player), but this will soon change in future updates.

For more clarity: you don't get to choose the words specifically, but you can choose between masculine, feminine, and androgynous terms!

📋 Separate top and bottom genitalia!

You can now choose your tatas and pps separately! >:3

Alongside that, you can also choose your preferred body type!

I removed the "both" genitalia option because a few players still assumed it was an obscure version of "intersex". That wasn't my intention and I don't want to mislead anyone, so I took it out for now ^^;

I also didn't want to include a screenshot of the new genitalia choices in action (because it's NSFW), so y'all get the same character menu screen for the nth time instead lmao

📱 Relationship Screen Overhaul!

You can now change your own status for more immersion, and long-term Server Boosters will eventually be able to submit and use their own icon within the game as well!

Stalking finding your friends has now become easier by using "Buddy Maps"; a new app that allows you to see the location of all the cast members!

I want to offer players more incentive to check the relationship screen since they tend to miss the status updates, so hopefully this might help ;v;

It also says it "updates every few hours" so folks don't go overboard and check every 5 seconds to see where Ren is gdsghf (also keep in mind that he's a hacker lol)

🖤 Additional Scenes Update!

Day 2 received a brand new CG!!!!! Originally, I planned on only adding a few CGs sporadically throughout the game, but it didn't feel right to leave Day 2 so... empty... so I added a brand new CG to (hopefully) make things feel more balanced and natural!

If you decline Teo's offer on Day 3, Leon will now call and try to convince you to reconsider. However, players are still allowed to decline, and if they do, they'll reach a dead end.

After listening to feedback on itch, I changed some of the dialogue during Days 1-3 to make it seem more consistent! They're only small changes though, so it's honestly not worth looking for sdgjssga

🎶 Updated BGM and SFX!

I wanted to try out a different style of music to see if it fits the vibe of 14DWY more! The BGM features more acoustics to suit the "beachy" theme of Corland Bay, though I made a conscious effort to include piano elements as well to stay true to the original!!

I figured it'd be better to give players a live example before I make a poll (to see if they prefer the change or not) and publish it to Itch.

Some new SFX have also been added, though it's very minimal and honestly not that noticeable.

How to download and play the update?

the muzzle barely bumps against your crotch and eyes fall shut with a dramatic sigh. his ears flop down so fucking cutely; he's literally a breath away but the damn thing is in his way, it's ruining him, it's killing him. and to add to that, it seems like the collar is just about an inch too short aswell because there's a big vein running on the side of his neck – a clear sign of him not getting enough air.

but he doesn't pull away. his tail thumps, it never stopped. he bounces on his heel and tilts his head to meet your gaze again. he rests his cheek on against your thigh and you take the second to admire the mess he's made already. his skin is all flushed, from his chest and up to the tips of his ears; red markings peek from behind the straps of the muzzle – the contrast between those and his marble skin is just exceptional.

drool trickles through the miniature cage and straight down onto your thigh but you don't mind. he looks absolutely fucked out like this. you allow yourself to card through his hair again, unable to keep your hands off of him for more than two minutes and he hums at your soft touch.

"such a cute, pup, hm?"

you cradle his jaw as best as you can and hold his face to yours again before leaning down and pressing a kiss onto the muzzle, just above where his nose would be. and then another to the side of the thing. he squirms in your hold, overwhelmed by your sudden touches. he feels like he's going to melt into a puddle when you press the next one to his jaw.

he can smell your arousal. it's... so fucking good. he hums as he tries to nuzzle further into you. all he can think about is filling you up and giving you his knot. c'mon, he's been so, soooo good... he deserves it, right?

and what happens less than 24 hours later? ed calls their night together a mistake, AND LEAVES.

yes, obviously the situation is more nuanced, and these old men are once again struggling to communicate, but i 100% understand why stede went a bit of the rails at the end of episode 7. stede's been so focused on trying to help ed, that he's completely ignored his own ongoing identity crisis and trauma, and after the incident at the academy in series 1, this meltdown was long overdue.
