thinking abt bellum v hard. (fyi there are 1658 words under this cut)

there's not a lot of concrete stuff to think abt but there ideas. he's kind of already won by the time link shows up on the scene. he's not really actively antagonizing the world of the ocean king, he mostly just has the ghost ship to go around collecting prey for him while he has the yook and anouki turned against each other and seems to have infested the different temples and whatever with monsters to delay any opposition. is he the one who destroyed the cobble kingdom? they're meant to be supporters of the ocean king so i think we can guess that bellum is the one who tried to eradicate them.

maybe he was the one who... mind controlled? or otherwise meddled with the yook to keep them from checking out the ice temple and keeping the anouki occupied with dealing with them. (tbh theres some untapped potential in the relationship between the yook and anouki) he doesn't really do anything to the gorons but maybe he doesn't see them as a worthwhile threat since they see the crimsonine as more of an artifact and not something they should really do anything with, and link has to pass a test to even be allowed to go to the temple. the cobble kingdom is already destroyed, and it can be assumed that he mightve mimicked their engineering based on eox being the hostile boss of the last temple and turning into sand, suggesting a relationship to bellum, and maybe that he's trying to hide the fact that he's the one fucking with everyone. i'm not even sure if characters (besides the main group) even know that bellum exists until link's quest is more known.

taking a note from the manga, where bellum says something along the lines of feelings of love and friendship creating more worthwhile life force for him, so taking that into account with stuff in the game suggests that he maybe doesnt make his presence well-known to avoid something like a mass panic or a persistent fear in people, which could downplay positive emotions that makes their life forces more worth taking to him along with other worthwhile forces maybe being ones connected to divine power (like his taking of tetra and seeming desperation to keep her specifically, since she's most likely a descendant of hylia's mortal form), so he likely is very hands-off with how he's affected the world in order to preserve the value of his prey, somehow. idk why he turns people into statues maybe its a preservation method. maybe hes saving tetra for some reason or maybe trying to bait link in as well. maybe he wants to grab link, too, but failed to catch him the first time and resorted to allowing him to go down the path of dismantling bellum's work all so that bellum can try and capture him himself.

the spirits he does manage to capture and left alive and instead just sealed away within their temples, which i believe is because spirits and gods and whatever in loz can't really die unless they explicitly permanently become mortal (hylia) and can only really be sealed away temporarily in some form, mostly due to a lot of them being a sort of representation of some part of the world (i like to imagine that demise is the god or whatever who created monsters, he's the father of monsters and opposes hylia due to the way her favored creatures [hylians ig] attack and kill monsters and he wants the world to be habitable and safe only for his creations)

it's probably safe to say that the ghost ship (like. the whole thing) was created by bellum, and in some form is perhaps some kind of living being, hence why bellum is capable of effectively possessing it the way he does, since it's an extension of himself like the boss monsters, it just maybe takes parts from some existing ships, or maybe it's not alive and bellum is capable of creating large structures like that he is compatible with.

bellum himself turns to sand when he is defeated, as well as most of the other boss monsters, but the cubus sisters (who certainly have a relationship with bellum due to having the same eyes and being connected to the ghost ship) do not turn into sand, which makes me think that bellum didn't actually create them; maybe they're corpses or something being remotely puppeted by bellum.

bellum is clearly made up of the sand of hours, a crystallization of life force, and oshus is said to have used those sands to create the phantom hourglass, and the sands are also mentioned to have been created from the force gems connected back to oshus himself, so bellum was probably created from those force gems and therefore those sands of hours at some point somehow (i enjoy the idea that oshus was the one who created bellum; with oshus being our main source of info on bellum, i think it'd be interesting if he was the one who originally made bellum but obscures this fact by just talking about how he 'appeared' and whatnot).

bellum seems to have a weird sort of... inverted? perverted? ability to create life (perhaps a sort of parallel to the one we can assume the ocean king has if we assume that he created the three spirits as well as bellum maybe) but only in a hivemind or derivative sort of way, only able to create things that follow simple commands and when he possesses something else he takes it over. (i like to take him in a more biological or physiological way rather than magical, when he is removed so is the control, but there might be little remnants, but his influence is gone. i take bellumbeck aftereffects to be terrible sickness rather than others going with the idea of taking on some bellum-like traits or residual controls. the things bellum creates can only follow simple rules unless he is directly in control therefore he can use it as he wishes, but if he takes control of something he did not create, it's a bit more of a battle, he has to contend with that other being's subconscious or whatnot and has no effect unless he is physically connected. his control is more limited and ends up incorporating some of the hosts' subconscious desires with some guiding from bellum himself to achieve a favorable outcome.)

with the world of the ocean king being a sort of parallel/separate world to link n tetra's great sea, it's interesting that the ghost ship can be physically present outside the world in which it was created. definitely there can be contact between different worlds in loz (like hyrule and the dark world/lorule in alttp/albw and a little bit with termina if you take that as a literal place and a little bit with koholint and then the twili realm and whatever i'm missing) but it's interesting to see bellum as a villain capable of (in some way) contact and interact within other worlds and drag inhabitants of those other worlds into his own (oshus can send people out of his world, so i assume he can also bring them in, maybe that's how link gets in despite falling off of the ghost ship, unless somehow the ghost ship is still within the world of the ocean king but is also present in the great sea but the area around it is a fragment of whatever part of the world of the ocean king its in superimposed over the great sea... idk) so it's interesting that bellum could bc considered a villain able to tamper with or at least interact with world boundaries to let things in and out, maybe it's something that he is only capable of with whatever power he's attained by the start of the game.

whatever relationship he may have to oshus and the other spirits is not at all a part of the game, but at the same time we don't learn a whole lot about them anyways. there's also stuff with the chief of the golden frogs as another ally of oshus, but i imagine bellum didn't bother with him because he has no relation to the spirits' locations and the pure metals, and zuaz was left alone perhaps because his location is secret, while astrid and kayo were maybe found due to living on a more populated island (more prey for bellum to go after, more people to know about astrid and kayo). a lot of the monsters in the dungeons were probably already there, while the bosses were specifically made to protect what was hidden there, or maybe the bosses came first and their presences attracted other monsters.

i think bellum created the two monsters you fight overseas on the spot; they existed specifically to try and kill link because at those two times (link going to get the final spirit and link going to get the first pure metal) bellum suddenly panics and decides to try and eliminate link at the cost of the loss of a possible worthwhile piece of prey. bellum was probably also the one to begin the rumor of the ghost ship; i imagine he can take a sort of human form the same way oshus can, and spent a bit of time after defeating oshus and creating the ghost ship integrating him within some pirate crew and using them to grow and spread the rumor of the ghost ship, eventaully leading them towards it and taking them has his first victims (and along the way taking the time to foster good relationships with them in the hopes that their positive emotions and feelings would make them more worthwhile prey, back to the manga snippet idea of feelings of friendship and love [and probably positive emotions in general] being another form of better life force).

bellum's cool

Lastly my dad gave me these old ass sparklers (like 40 years old) and i tried them out with rat in their house it was fun!! We also cosplayed joker and akechi that day it was cool☝ i made her reenact the litc scene (i need to interavt w litc fans) but persona 5

i just rlly love dark era in general (it’s the LN w the best anime adaption imo) like i just kept watching that specific part all the time and i suddenly had a moment of clarity where I was like “act ykw this dude is the best he’s my fav”

that and dazai was my fav at first (he’s a close second now) so oda being the cause of how he came to be just drew me to him, like the impact he had on not just dazai but the ppl dazai meets later on was very interesting to me esp since he isn’t even in the main manga, dude is just constantly haunting the narrative despite how little interactions he had w others and that’s so cool to me (I also relate to his character a lot but I’m not gonna get into that)

oh and the cover of him in the third beast vol was a huge factor too if I’m being honest, that art lit changed me, I only started collecting manga bc i loved the art for it sm

for school my mentality is lit just “get as much shit done at school so I can relax when I get home and fuck anything that interferes” and that’s always kept me going, though ik that might not work for everyone cuz most ppl tend to prioritize socializing, I’m just not abt that shit so it’s nvr been a prob for me 😭

ig I’d just say that separating work and home seems to help and also making QUICK (I cannot emphasize this enough, DONT spend time trying to make them look nice, it’s a trap if u tend to procrastinate a lot, theyre not there for aesthetics, just to help) lists of what classes u need to get work done for each day so that ur not only keeping track but if ur like me, checking them off gives u the “i can visibly see that i am in fact getting shit done for once” motivation boost, and also just taking advantage of my tendency to procrastinate by procrastinating by doing other work from another class and going back and forth until it’s done, idk if that makes sense

that’s all I’ve got for now in terms of “advice” though sorry 😔

Why is Reinochi called Reinochi? I've seen you mention there was like an official first draft/initial sketch thing somewhere on the internet where it said Tobi's name was originally going to be Inochi (the worst idea I've heard in a while, glad it didn't become true) but it didn't happen in the end so why does the ship name look like that?

Oks so the thing about the first draft of his name is not entirely true? Let me explain, Inochi was the placeholder name Mariyasu gave him in the character sheets for InT, the original Tobi name in the first manga draft was Unmei , those are two different things just wanted to point that out to leave any confusion out. Now the reason why I call it reinochi is pretty simple, I’ve been around long before the manga came out so yeh I saw how the first chapters got posted and all that I saw that manga start, and at the beginning Tobi didn’t have a name (as you can see his name is not mentioned in the first chapters he’s in) so most fans agreed his name was gonna be Inochi bc that’s what Mariyasu called him so that had to be the name right? And bc we reached that same conclusion we just called the ship “Reinochi”. Now, when the name Tobi was first shown (which mind you the first mention of that name wasn’t in the manga, it was in an Eve insta story) the discord server I was in was really conflicted about the name bc truth to be told we all collectively thought it was dumb and stupid, it took a while for it to grow on me but it did with time. Now, in that server the name Tobi was blacklisted, we couldn’t say it at all so we could only refer to Tobi as either Inochi or Otogiri so we stick with Inochi, saying “Reitobi” ot Tobirei” wasn’t really allowed in that server since we couldn’t say the word Tobi so reinochi was like the go to word for the ship

You may ask, but juju you still can say it in the internet also you aren’t in that server anymore? And I’ll answer you well yeh that’s true but like idk I like how reinochi rolls like Rei ends with an i and Inochi starts with an i I mean that works and I like it! It reminds me of shuake, the ship of the persona 5 protagonist and Akechi, who despite having a canon name (two canon names actually) neither of them are part of the ship name

Also controversial take but like “Reitobi” and “Tobirei” sound kinda dumb to me LMAO like not saying you cannot use them you can! But idk I don’t like how they sound I’m just so used to Reinochi and I will die in the Reinochi hill

Ig with time people who followed me just went with also the fact that a big server had to use that name bc otherwise it would be impossible to live so ig that influence could have something to do with it but I’ve seen other people on Twitter use the other variations, actually I believe the one the jp fandom uses is Reitobi but don’t quote me on that

Turns out, he hates corn cause it gets stuck between his teeth and I have no words cause even I didn't like corn for that reason... but its alright to eat now ig; he likes shin ramyeon. (Literally stocked the goddamn thing into the cupboard yesterday adbfkjhfbhesff ) and he likes Spicy food!! 🥹

It is a historical manga and it’s coinciding with astronomy. *is a major of it at uni* I- Oliver is a nerd. He’s a nerd and I love him for it. And I’d like to think that there is a moment where he does engage with you in discussions about it and when you give him that look; that knowing look of ‘I know who you really are’ when he turns an argument into an intellectual one without realizing it. And he just gives you the look back of ‘I know. I’m not stupid. Surprise.’

And once he falls in love with you? playboy season is over and he will be locked.

What happened at uni today : So me and this guy I’ve known for 5 years since school share one of the majors we have out of two together. He’s very aloof, always sits at the back and doesn’t talk to anyone. But today since he was late, he sat next to me. And he goes ‘You’ve changed. You’ve lost a lost of weight.’ And not even in the positive way… it was condescending.

not a book, but the pjo/hoo series by rick riordan. i just wanna be whisked away again. also!! the guardians of ga'hoole series by kathryn lasky. i'm not sure if i want to read these 3 series' again because of nostalgia, because i miss those aspects of my childhood (which imo in my head is diff to nostalgia), or because i want to experience being immersed in those worlds again.

there is a battle inside my mind right now because i want to recommend entirety of the shadowhunter chronicles HAHA but not the main series (the mortal instruments)** so i will specifically rec the infernal devices and the last hours trilogies (to be read in that order) by cassandra clare! i feel that of all the series in the shadowhunter chronicles, those two trilogies are my favourite. they're set in uh. edwardian times, i think? late 1800s, early 1900s (the cast of TID become parents in TLH, whichrevolves around their children). i have a lot of feelings but i wont ramble bc this is already very long HAHA

i also want to rec SO MANY OTHERS FHDSVDHSHKVBSD oh dear me. on earth we're briefly gorgeous by ocean vuong (the writing is beautiful, idk if you've seen toff or i go on about it) and the left hand of darkness by ursula k. le guin (scifi fantasy (i think fantasy too? idk man); this was also a yr12 lit text AHHA it was a really good read itself, but then when we actualyl sat as a class and discussed all the themes it instantly vbecame one of my favs. i really wanna reread this one soon!!)

**okay this is just me trying to explain about the war in my head regarding tsc HAHA also if you're not familair w the books, the shadowhunter chronicles encompasses 5 series that take place at different times // i love the entire series and all the characters and while the mortal instruments isn't my favourite and i wouldn't recommend it, it stil makes for a good read so that you can... like, get the most out of all 5 series/the universe? all 5 series (one of which is unpublished, and another awaiting the final installment) are heavily interlinked and there are little easter egg-y things in the more modern day series (plural?? whats the plural of series) that link back to the trilogies that take place earlier on chronologically (????? idk if that makes sense).

ANYWAYS so while i highly recommend reading the infernal devices and the last hours (and if you're feeling spunky, read ghosts of the shadow market in between the two trilogies) i would recommend reading all 4 currently published series for the full experience HAHAHA oh dear me okay im gonna stop bc im getting too carried away 😭😭

edit: i'd been saying 'the dark artifices' instead of 'the last hours' 😭😭 if i missed one while editting, please know i mean the last hours and at no point in this answer did i intent to mention the dark artifices JAJDNSJJXND

i just think gilbert is a really good character. like he’s got all this trauma and he just. doesn’t know how to deal with it (& he also just straight up doesn’t want to learn) so he represses it and doesn’t really act like he’s totally fine with nothing wrong. but he doesn’t acknowledge how actually not fine he is. and he is also just very soft and he cares about his loved ones so much. all his angry, more “dark” moments are founded on his loved ones being in danger, or getting hurt. and he’s just a very well-written character. he’s also just very well designed. both in a gay manner, but also in general. his coat and his hair are neat, and he looks like a soft dork. which is fitting bc he is. so anyway in this essay i will-

Movie/Game/Show: My Hero Academia Dynamic: League of Villains/Reader (Platonic) Warnings: uhh idk actually, dabi's kinda horny ig, i don't usually include this as a warning but swearing (there's quite a bit of it), feminine pronouns Summary: this is just 1860 words of me shutting my eyes, plugging my ears and ignoring the current state of the manga (: (beach episode type beat) ~~~

Pulling the large sun hat tighter on her head, (Y/n) looks over as her leader strolls up to the van Spinner had stolen earlier in the day. She quirks a brow at the man, putting a gentle hand over his handheld and pushing it down when he doesn’t notice her, “That’s what you’re wearing?”

Tomura huffs and steps back, narrowed eyes focusing on his black jeans and hoodie, “What’s it to you?”

“You’re wearing a hoodie in this heat, first of all, and also - it says ‘12 year old in gaming mode’, you’re asking to get bullied.”

“Yeah, well,” he grumbles as he tries to find an insult for the woman before resigning himself to mumble out a, “you look like you raided a college chick’s closet” while returning to his game.

“I think she looks great!” Twice piped up from inside the large van before yelling once again, “Absolutely hideous!”

Dabi nodded slightly from his window seat, pulling the strings of his hood so as few inches of his face as possible were showing, “I agree with him.”

“Which part?” (Y/n) crossed her arms, shooting the man a glare.

“Yep.”

“Dickface,” she hissed, reaching up to swat at Dabi’s arm through the rolled down window before turning to climb into the van, “A dickface who is also wearing a black hoodie in this heat. You two are actual nutjobs.”

“Van’s got AC,” Dabi shrugged off her concerns, still not even looking her way as she settled into the seat between him and Twice, “Didn’t know you cared so much, doll. Pretty sweet of you.”

“If you pass out from a heat stroke, I’m not the one taking you to the hospital,” she leaned over into the midrow seats of the van to glare at Tomura as he sat down, “That goes for you, too.”

“I’m not the one with a fire Quirk.”

“Just get Himiko some blood and she’ll take ‘em in all disguised! Let them die!” Twice pitched in with his own ideas, earning a shoulder pat from the woman.

“Good ideas, big guy, I like them.”

“Rude ass,” Dabi kicks at (Y/n)’s leg.

“I’m your boss, if you let me die you’re fucked.”

“Nobody’s dying on this trip, what the fuck are you guys talking about?” Spinner already appeared exasperated with the group and he’d barely been in the car for a second.

Compress got into the passenger seat as Spinner buckled into the driver’s side, he looked around before noticing an absence, “Where’s Toga?”

Suddenly, the door to Tomura’s seat is lugged open with a force, an overly excited blond teenager jumping over her boss and into the open seat beside him.

“You could’ve just gotten in on the other side,” Tomura clenches a fist to keep himself from slapping Himiko’s arm and causing a deathly accident.

“I didn’t know which side you were sitting on, so I just guessed!” Himiko giggles as Spinner starts the car.

“Asshole,” Tomura shakes his head, “This trip is pointless.”

“Kurogiri wants us to bond and stop fighting all the time,” Compress cuts in, “That’s why I’m in charge.”

“We’re adults- " (Y/n) interrupts herself, “Dabi, roll up the window, we’re pulling out of the safe zone.”

Dabi merely keeps his eyes closed behind his sunglasses and presses his head back against the neck rest of his seat.

“Roll up the window.”

“God, these winds are fuckin’ noisy, huh?”

“I hear ya, man!” Twice shouts before shaking his head, “Dabi, be nice to (Y/n). She’s your elder.”

“By a fucking year! Man, fuck you, Dabi,” the woman reaches over and presses the button to roll up the window herself, “Motion sickness or not, you don’t get to be a douche.”

“It’s actually exactly what it means, doll. Sorry to burst your bubble.”

“Stop calling me doll.”

“Ugh,” he grins at his own upcoming remark, “the princess makes a harsh demand.”

“I’m this close,” she pats his chest to make sure he opens his eyes before holding her index finger and thumb nearly pinched together in front of his face, “to beating your ass.”

“Here,” he reaches up and takes her fingers and clenches them together, “now you have to. As soon as we get to the beach, you have to fight me or else you’re a coward and a liar.”

(Y/n) grits her teeth and snaps her eyes shut, “I’m gonna lose it,” she leans into Twice’s side and looks up at him, smiling at the slightest hint of a concerned look behind his mask, “How’ve you been, big guy?”

“Perfectly fine!” he shakes his head before whispering, “I didn’t piss before we left and now I regret it.”

“Aw, want Spinner to pull over?”

“I think he’ll crash the car if I ask.”

“He’d be killing himself too, so I don’t think he’d be too cool with that.”

Twice quiets down as he notices the woman’s eyes beginning to flutter shut with drowsiness. Then, a sense of guilt beats at him as he sees the serene expression crossing his friend’s face. So calm and sweet - he truly adored his friend, and he wanted to do right by her. So, leaning down, he murmurs, “Sorry for calling you old.”

(Y/n)’s eyes dart open and immediately find Twice, she raises a brow at the man and shakes her head as her eyes slowly begin closing again, “I… it’s fine, dude, don’t worry about it.”

Dabi, as usual, is quick to jump into a conversation that was never his, “Old lady tempers, gotta be careful around them.”

“I swear to fucking God, Dabi!”

“What? What do you swear?”

“Shut the hell up!” Spinner snapped at children in the back seat, “You’re distracting me, loud asses.”

“Dabi started it!”

“I’m ending it!”

“Stop yelling,” Tomura commanded the group, carefully stuffing his handheld into his large front hoodie pocket and resting his head back, “I’m going to sleep and if I get woken up, I’ll kill you all.”

None of them believed him - not at all - but out of an odd respect for their leader’s need for rest, they stayed relatively silent as he slept. Murmurs and whispers being the loudest volume of their voices as Tomura snoozed in the van.

Eventually, Spinner came to the reserved spot on the beach that Kurogiri definitely didn’t hire people to kill civilians over. Himiko leaned over and gently shook Tomura awake as Compress popped the trunk to the van. (Y/n) shifted toward Dabi to ensure he was also awake and starting to feel less queasy before getting out of the middle seat so he and Twice could exit.

“Alright, there’s changing rooms…” Compress trailed off, looking around before sighing, “Nowhere in sight.”

“I’m already fine,” (Y/n) waved off, grabbing towels and an umbrella from Spinner, “You guys can take turns changing in the van while I set shit up.”

“I call first!” Himiko cheered, excitedly bouncing back into the van as the men all walked off to provide the teenager the privacy and distance she needed.

(Y/n) did as she’d said and began laying down towels and propping up parasols in the sand to provide shade. As more and more of her friends collected themselves along the beach, she spotted her almighty leader once again making a fashion mistake.

Bright, neon green and orange striped swim trunks hung over his hips and he didn’t avoid the woman’s stare. She purses her lips, “Who the hell goes clothes shopping for you? They shouldn’t be making executive decisions like this.”

Tomura shrugs, “I don’t know.”

“What do you mean you don’t know?! Shigaraki, you have to be fucking with me.”

“I’m not,” he sits down on a towel under the parasol’s shade and returns to his gaming, “It’s probably Kurogiri but it isn’t like I ask him.”

“Holy shit. You’re an actual man-child.”

“Oh no, what gave me away?” he sarcastically whines, rolling his eyes at her.

“You being shameless about it is slightly worse…”

“(Y/n)!” Himiko cheerily calls, “Come join me in volleyball!”

“Is Twice playing?”

The blond looks over to the man in question and nods in approval.

“Are Quirks allowed?”

Another nod.

(Y/n) pats Compress’ shoulder, “I’ll let you take this game.”

Dabi comes up from behind while Spinner serves the ball on the beach, he’s removed his hoodie and now only rests in loose shorts that come to his knees and a white shirt. He scratches the back of his head in an uncharacteristically unnerved manner, “Not swimmin’?”

He earns a small shrug in response from the woman, “I’m not all too committed to the idea. At least not now.”

Nodding slowly, Dabi sits down at the edge of the towel unoccupied by Tomura and begins pulling at the fraying threads.

Sighing to herself, (Y/n) is slightly ashamed at how easily her heart softens upon noticing how uncomfortable Dabi seems. He doesn’t usually show as much skin as he is - which isn’t much - and he doesn’t usually throw himself into events where he’d be forced to interact with the others. He feels naked on the beach and he’d rather be dead than continue to suffer this embarrassment. And so, a body comes down onto the towel with his.

“Want company, misery?”

“Baking to death in the sun couldn’t get worse, even if it’s with you,” Dabi leaned back to rest against the woman’s legs.

“Wow,” (Y/n) fauxly gasped, sarcasm ripe in her words, “You being sweet? I never thought I’d never see the day.”

“Right? Thought I’d be dead by now,” his head tips back even more to lay it’s full weight on her legs, “You’re comfortable to rest on, old lady.”

“I’m gonna beat the shit out of you.”

“You still owe him an ass-beating from the car ride,” Tomura jumped in, a snarky smile on his lips as he spoke.

“I’m starting to think you won’t actually beat my ass,” Dabi grins smugly, “Like me too much.”

“I would destroy you in a fight, Dabi.”

“Hm, well, until you stop being a pussy and actually fight me, doesn’t sound like that’s the truth.”

“I swear to- " (Y/n) loudly huffs and cuts herself off before groaning, Dabi- "

“I’m no God,” Dabi paused to wink like the cheap bastard he is, “Unless you want me to be.”

Before the woman can respond, there’s a “heads up!” shouted by Himiko and a volleyball is hurtling towards the arguing duo. Tomura immediately leans over, not quite paying attention and sticks a hand out to block the ball, accidentally decaying it in the process. The leader comes to a stand and tosses up his hands, “What the shit, Toga?”

“Man,” the teenager whined, stomping her foot in the sand, “you destroyed the ball.”

“You almost destroyed (Y/n)’s face!” Tomura's voice quiets and softens to avoid upsetting the young girl over a mistake, “There’s probably another ball in the trunk.”

“I said ‘heads up’,” Himiko rolled her eyes, sending Twice off to find the spare volleyball in question.

(Y/n) rolled her eyes, “Oh, so all better, then?”

“Exactly!”

“No! That’s not how that works, Toga!”

Dabi snickered at the back-and-forth before giving a mock dreamy sigh, “Ahh, the sound of Kurogiri’s bonding plan working perfectly.”

Ok bc we all know Katsuki’s the class’s resident relationship advisor

Skkfhhjsjx I saw this idea somewhere (on tumblr I think) and it’s just so good

It all started when Todoroki went to Bakugou to ask him something about Midoriya when they were newly dating

Idk WHY homeboy thought asking Bakugou was a good idea💀

Maybe it made sense to him bc Bakugou’s known Midoriya since childhood

And Todoroki probably figured, “We’re friends, right? We’ve been close since retaking the hero license exam together…”

(Ok that was kind of a joke but IMAGINE IF HE REALLY THOUGHT THAT😭BABY NUU)

So whatever the reason, Todoroki pulled Bakugou aside; the conversation went a little like this:

“What the hell do you want, Half-and-Half?”

“Does Midoriya like flowers 🧐❓❓”

“…”

“Does he?”

“HOW THE HELL WOULD I KNOW, HAH? YOU WEIRDO!”

“Bakugou, it was just a question🧍‍♂️.” (I’m sorry this gives me “Bakugou, they’re just kids,” vibes-“

Anyway, Bakugou sighed and grumbled that the ‘damn nerd’ was into ‘that kinda cheesy, romantic shit,’ (izukuuu🥺) then cursed at Todoroki some more before walking away.

He’s a little… special :3

A few days after Todoroki gifted Midoriya flowers (“Ah, uh, Todoroki-kun, you didn’t have to 0///0” “Do you not like them?” “oH NO I LOVE THEM THANK YOU SO MUCH😭😭”), everyone was chilling in the common room when Mina made a remark on how she’d never thought Todoroki did romantic gestures, to which he responded, “Bakugou told me Midoriya liked romantic gestures, though.”

When I tell you a BIG ASS SMIRK FORMED ON MINA’S FACE-

“He gave you relationship advice👀❓❓”

“Yes😐”

“Ohohohoho… interesting. All that romance manga should’ve put something useful in his brain😏”

“…Bakugou reads romance manga?😶”

“He does.”

“I should ask him to lend me and Sero some…”

And like the big gossip she is, Mina told everyone in and out of their class💀

So now, anyone who doesn’t have a death wish (*cough* Denki *cough*) goes up to him for all their romantic problems

“Heyyy Kacchan🌚~”

“The hell do you want, Pikachu?🤨”

“So like,,, I can’t decide between Jirou and Shinsou….”

“Oh my fuc- WHY IS EVERYONE ASKING ME FOR ADVICE I’M FRICKING SINGLE FOR GOD’S SAKE! AND JUST DATE THEM BOTH!”

“You know, I never really thought of that. 0-0”

Insert very loud and dramatic sigh by Bakugou here💀

He soon finds out who exposed him, he’s not stupid.

There were only two people (one of them being Kirishima- the only person who’s been in his dorm) who knew about his collection anyway.

“RACCOON EYES!”

“Why, hello to you too, Bakugou.”

“You fricking told everyone, you little shit? Hah?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about😗😗✋”

It only takes him threatening to finish all of Mina’s expensive shampoo (that she grudgingly shares with the rest of the Bakusquad) to get her to confess

“Okay fineee, but our classmates desperately need it.”

“SO TAKE THEM TO A RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLOR OR SOME SHIT AND LEAVE ME ALONE!”

“But Bakugouuuuu! Counseling isn’t freeeee🥺”

And thus, Bakugou’s peaceful life at U.A. had come to an end.

Until he started threatening to blow anyone up if they didn’t leave him alone

But then again

He does that all the time sooooo

Ig everything’s back to normal🤡❓❓

(Not with Todoroki tho, he still gets advice from Bakugou or tries to)

I FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY ABT KNY,, the gotouge handled the relationships and tied them in will with character introspection is so,, melancholic ??? idk how to describe it but smtimes the story feels like a dream sequence and it hits right in ur heart,,, yknow when yuuichiro was like the mu in muichiro is the in in infintiy,, i laid down and cried lmao but anywyas PLEASE continue to share ur thoughts as u re read its really nice to see that im not the only one going crazy over this..

ok hi sry this was the msg where i i had so much written and stuff but by now ive forgotten like 90% of the shit i just talked abt and the thought of typing it out again makes me sad so i think im just gna paraphrase it the best i can im so sry 😭😭

but YEAH.. no exactly , melancholy is suchhh a good descriptor of how the manga feels. that and saudade , for how its almost like . ig nostalgic isnt exactly the right word to use, but bittersweet, maybe, about things u Wish you knew more about / had more time to interact with.

gotouge does such a great job of evoking emotion w their work imo. while single lines & panels collectively amount to big themes and such, i feel like they maintain a lot of influence on their own. lots of these scenes work well as standalone pieces , no matter how small or simple, and its so special to me :-) !!

&& im so happy u brought up muichirou's story bec omfg yeah tht was so sad i cried my eyes outAHAHA. that or genya's "shinazu means immortality" line .wtf......withers away.god . its soo good . but YEAH W MUICHIROU, i feel like his arc perfectly encapsulates how well gotouge utilizes emotion and threads these stories together, bit by bit.

THISS sequence is soo good bc i like how tanjirou's compassion is what kickstarts muichirou's backstory. and while thats a common theme for most of the characters, it's always unique in how it affects them/progresses the story. especially in this instance, where tanjirou's encouragement manifests from suppressed memories of mui's father

like omg . i love the eerie stillness of this page . how the dialogue is obviously referencing some (at the time, unknown) memory, and how that disbelief is visually represented by the way he's suspended in the water. everything slows down around this moment, it's so pretty. so calm and quiet as mui cycles through his final thoughts. i like how his mist breathing ties into his amnesia and how its imagery is specific to these moments (as w the pic below)

what rly stands out though is that . through all of this, muichirou admonishes his own weakness and sees it as a detriment or character flaw. something to be avoided. but its weakness, kotetsu's weakness specifically, that saves him in the end

its so small and so like. normal in comparison to the hashira's breath techniques, that its simplicity gives it power.

this panel ^ is one of my favs for that exact reason. its soo.. soo!!!!!!! oifdjjgd i love it so much. like i love how it ties back into kny's theme of like . finding strength in weakness. kotetsu is just a normal character all things considered but its through his willpower that muichirou survived; he didn't need any special technique or trick up his sleeve. it all goes back to what rengoku says abt the quality of human nature

or the conversations tanjirou shares with genya

i admire it soo much i love that kny operates on these emotions, and even more so the ones that are typically considered as "less than ideal". love and kindness are motivational, but they're not exclusive. anger, grief, weakness, etc. all have the immense power to bring people together and they hold with them important qualities of their own.

it just flows so well. i like how the same few panels can lead into many different trains of thought. for i see this and i think about rengoku and the principles he shared. i think about genya, kagaya, muichirou, nezuko, etc. i think about how intertwined all of these stories are. how tanjirou represented the person mui's father was, who muichirou wanted to be, and ultimately tried to become

and i like how they culminate in later parts of the story, especially ch.204

AHH idk i think sometimes i look too deep into it / assign meaning where perhaps there is none but. its not something i really get from other series, so im happy gotouge fills that specific niche. for u and i at least !! and thank u for listening to me as i go through it all again AAA it makes me so excited to talk about in detail, and its even nicer knowing u feel the same way about all of it. im rly happy you liked it and i hope u enjoy the rest of the seasons as they roll out 🥺️

tbh,, i havent read the raws of the interview yet, only the translated ver from fan-translator and b4 i start, i think that this will be just me talking in circle and in no particular order AND a real mess (my brain does weird things after exams) but uhh here we go

gojou collects talented people, and by doing so he finds the people he can most probably relate to, except that he can't, not really, because something in the universe shifted when he was born. and it makes me think of how he's always known it, that he is special, and he's proven it, time and time again— he wants to take in talented ppl and he does, but there rly isn't much he can do for them. for they are talented, more talented than the world can understand,,

but they aren't gojou satoru

gojou took in megumi, bc he knew megumi was strong, and would grow up to be someone even stronger, but gojou can't facilitate or encourage his growth, bc for all they're similar, they are so fundamentally different. ALSO,, while geto was in his life, gojou rly judged everything according to his understanding of geto’s moral compass. gojou wears a human suit and geto is how he learnt to wear it well 🏃

the dragonfly analogy regarding to geto’s response to gojo, who was shown wearing a dragonfly patterned yukata in HI arc,, i’m trying to not think abt the fact that dragonfly symbolized victory in jpn....pain. i quoted from a web here for more explanation : In Japan the dragonfly is known as the "victory insect", or kachimushi, because of its hunting prowess and also because it is known to never retreat. Dragonflies are agile and fast fliers and can even hover, but never fly backwards
