I know that I've already made a half-assed reference to The Good Place from starkid, but I don't care.
I feel like Richie’s status is similar to that of Janet's identity. Like, Richie’s not cool, but he's not a loser either.

It Watches (it loves)
The world is endless and burning and bright.
It knows this. It has been here for longer than It can fathom.
Maybe It had a name once. The clock never stops.
-
A hand that It grabbed, scarred and warm and rough, but It was the smallest of Its friends. It could not hold on.
And the hand slips away. He does not come back up.
-
(there is blood at the bottom of the gorge)
-
It watches as the time ticks endlessly, watching the world’s cogs churn. A game, nothing more.
It misses Its friends.
-
It tries to remember, gray-fur and laughter and fire that touched the sky, a dragon, friends, so many of them. All different kinds. Some touched the void. Some had seen It.
They did not know It was not Human.
-
(-----? what’s going on?)
-
They came. So many of them.
-
It failed. Or rather it succeeded too much. Too destructive.
It didn’t know that It could regret things. But It could.
It didn’t even know It could Cry.
-
It was sorry. It was. But It could not lose them.
-
(there are Ten Thousand teeth in my mouth and Five Hundred Thousand wings on my back and my eyes are bleeding out)
-
(and the universe said l̴̡̹͕̟͔̎̇̐̍o̷͙͚̗͕̅́̃͊v̷̡̨̱̰͇̠̟̜̇͆̈͗͂̎͒͜͝ȩ̶̢̡̬̭̝̖̙͚̗̑͂̃̈̄̃̎̎̑͠ ̴̘̋̋̑̿͒̀̽̆̕m̶̢̛͕̽̏̉̊̚ȩ̸̧̼̅̓͌̃̔͒͊̋̔̕)

-
The world is endless and burning and bright.
And It will never let go of Its friends.
-
(Grian? What’s going on?)
-
They are screaming, It does not know why. It is protecting them. They cannot die like this.
-
Chaos cannot be contained. It cannot be contained.
-
(Chaos is not inherently good or evil. It is neither and both.)
-
And it loves its friends.

getting older can be so amazing? you get more familiar with yourself. learn tips & tricks for troubleshooting your own brain. trial & error helps you build routines that minimize discomfort, maximize reward. your preferences/interests don't get set in stone, but you do find out which ones are going to stay with you in the long-term, and which ones are fun but transient joys to appreciate in the moment.
you learn that the world is so much more complex than you were taught, and that that's okay, and that there's an endless supply of things you can learn or watch or experience or think about if you want to. if you're lucky, you loosen up, stop putting so much pressure on yourself. if you're lucky, you learn to recognize that negative inner voice, and whack it with a baseball bat until it hushes up. if you're lucky, you learn to treat yourself gently, not because you are fragile but because you are worthy of gentleness. (i hope you are lucky.)
and some things will change. some things will get better. some things will get good. and maybe you start to recover from the dehumanizing stress of childhood/education. maybe you learn the power of your own autonomy. maybe you learn how to walk away from bad situations (which is a superpower even if you don't realize it yet). and you get to choose your own clothes. and your own food. and which relationships to pursue! and what you do with your free time. and with your life (but don't worry you get to choose that gradually). and that's crazy! and sometimes scary. and extraordinarily, indescribably precious.

re: that fucking staff post. obviously death to algorithms, but i also wanna interrogate the wider underlying assumptions of their logic there cuz. is 'success' having lots of followers & lots of popular posts??? why is that the end goal of using this website. i don't open tumblr to get attention from strangers, i open tumblr to read funny jokes and interesting commentary and to see cool art. encouraging clout-chasing will only increase user engagement if you successfully get people literally addicted to the associated dopamine hit. what if we didn't have to do that!!! what if a website could be a place you went to on purpose because you had fun there!!!!

I've seen a lot of people writing Danny as a space ancient and Dan and Dani as ghosts with moon and sun cores, being sort of parts, versions of Danny and therefore weaker. Now, consider: Dan and Dani are both powerful ghosts with really cool cores and stuff but Danny is just some guy™
Dan, who came from an alternate timeline and is kind of from the future but also not, is Clockwork's apprentice and will eventually become an ancient of time. He probably only agreed to have some lessons with Clockwork to understand better what happened to him, but he enjoys his apprenticeship now.
Dani, with her love of travelling, loves seeing all the different places the world offers to her, and that includes space and different planets and maybe even parallel universes, and she accidentally ends up being an apprentice of the space ancient. For now she's probably a baby ancient of freedom or something like that, but she might become an ancient of space in the future.
We can also have something like Dan having a core of destruction or Dani being the Speed Force if you want it to be dcxdp, or any headcanon of yours about their cool powers.
And then there's Danny. And yeah, everyone knows that he's super powerful, but also he's just some guy.
It can go different routes. Does everyone know that Danny is just Danny? Or do they think that with siblings (well, technically a clone and an alternate version, but whatever) so powerful, he must be even stronger? Is Danny actually something terrifyingly eldritch and ancient and strong, almost a god, but he just doesn't know himself? Or is he just really some guy?
Now, because it's obvious that I have a dcxdp brainrot, have a regular "JL summons/meets a powerful ghost" but its Dan and Dani, and they keep mentioning their original/brother who won a fight against them at some point. The JL is very concerned about Dan and Dani's godlike powers, and they can't imagine what Danny is like. And then they meet him (in his human form), and it's just a young adult in casual clothes, very friendly and helpful, with no evident powers. Imagine the confusion. Imagine Dan and Dani, radiating power, in their eldritch ghost forms, admitting that fighting Danny for real is the dumbest thing to do and not even they would succeed... And then there's Danny is jeans and silly t-shirt, waving shyly.
