at the end of the day the thing i love the most about tmnt is that it's not just boys being boys (in the wholesome way), it's brothers being brothers

One thing I’ve noticed a lot this playthrough is how much tougher everything is in Neverwinter than in any of the outer maps. You can go from feeling very good about yourself fighting entire orc clans only to go break into a midling thief’s house and get your shit absolutely wrecked.

SMG3 COLOR TEXT

okay okay i remember a lot of people talking about how they would get confused on what color SMG3 text is cause it would change color well this new episode made me remember that post @mushrooming3 did about the color change

SPOILERS FOR NEW EPISODE

here we have the usual color that people know SMG3 for but at this moment he is lying acting playing a character he is pretending to hate SMG4 when we all know he cares about him but here he lies and puts that rival character "yeah i hate him, he deserves to be dead!" all because he wants to impress his old friends yet again a moment of him trying to find his place to belong.

but look at the start of the episode he isnt playing a character he is being himself having fun and being stress at running his cafe. Here he is natural he isnt putting a front to impress anyone so when do we see a color change in this episode?

boom when he is trying to prove he is still evil trying to belong he put up his walls putting on the evil persona he created over the years (which he is rusty at since its been years since he was a villain). Its interesting to know that the closer he gets to the crew the more we see this new color a light blue makes you wonder if his color was always meant to be light blue but got all mixed up when zero zapped his usb turning him purple well whatever the reason the text color for sure lets us know when Three is acting and when he is being his true self.

here he accepts himself and is happy with who he is and realizes he found where be belongs somewhere he can be himself, showing that maybe this new light blue color is going to be his new color (of course he needs to stop being a tsundere for that to happen xD)

heck when coffee n bombs first open you can see the color change to! here he is acting and showing four he so has running a cafe in the bag its easy he can do anything and do it better then him after all he needs no help. But Four (and i already talked about him) he over did it and push SMG3 to far

he breaks character he panics the real him shines through and funny enough thats when Four notices he went to far

he has known Three long enough to know when he slips and shows his true self which from what i can find Three seems to show more to four then anyone else which might explain why he giggles at SMG3 tsundere act since he knows the real SMG3 now after its gotta be perfect. (still my man you need to be a better friend to three please)

In short the color change in the text is on purpose its to show us the viewers the two sides of SMG3 the one he created over the years of being alone, and who he really is a man that just enjoys being a trouble maker with a big heart. He feels cozy with SMG4 so he shows this side more with him but he has used those walls for yeeears so while the light blue will at some point in time be the color we see more that doesn't mean his iconic color will go away we might just end up seeing it less over time.

You might have already gotten a similar as from me about this, my phone freaked out (I blame Vox) and idk if it sent.

Thinking about how Lucifer was able to get a photo in that comic and if it's because of film cameras. What if it's not the film but when the camera was actually made? So if Vox just creates a film camera (Alastor conjured a video camera for Vaggie so I'm assuming Vox can do the same) or if he buys a newly made film camera (sold as #retro) it won't work, but if he could locate a camera actually manufactured like 50 years ago it might work. Lucifer strikes me as a lil bit of a hoarder so it wouldn't surprise me if he has random old tech laying around that he just hasn't gotten rid of, so he just grabbed the first camera he found, and it happened to be old enough to capture Al.

btw I like typed out this whole post before I actually fully comprehended you were talking about manufacturing date, I mean mayyybe? but that's also kinda weirdly specific, we could just go with they don't really make analog cameras nowadays so it's not easily accessible so if vox like wanted to get one he'd have to get one that was already manufactured from yeeears ago but he already threw his old one out. welp too bad!

and here's the rest of the post where I talk about alastor's ability to be captured on old cameras/film photography in general, which I'm still gonna post cause I already typed it all out. take it as an elaboration of the previous ask.

currently the only example we have of a clear alastor photo is vox's photo which is clearly an old black-and-white type photo which leaves us with one of the two options

alastor can in fact be captured on old-fashioned film photography

alastor intentionally did not scramble the photo when he took it with vox

both are possible options I think (and I don't think #1 necessarily means anything less than #2 because alastor still clearly at least agreed to posing for a picture with vox at the time). but yeah idk when this is our only example we can't really say for certain

if it's #1, reasons vox never took advantage of it could be:

he threw out all his old film cameras so he literally doesn't have anymore left to use

he just hates old tech that much

as I said in that previous ask, it's just not as convenient as his remote drones and digital cameras

also said in previous ask, to get an analog picture of him he needs to use the camera in the same room as him but he can't deal with that right now or he'll pass out (he HAS been hiding behind screens for a reason, always remember the last-minute velvette call up in episode 3 that she was STILL on the phone with vox about having it handled when she entered LATE into the meeting)

one thing i was hoping to learn during my post-bac but never really got around to was spike sorting. in my neural engineering class, i'm finally learning how to do that!

although i don't plan on collecting neural data at this level, i do hope to collect LFPs as part of my research so learning this signal processing in general is going to be extremely helpful. so far, i've determined my threshold and plotted the threshold line within the data. the hard part is everything that comes next of template matching, principal component analysis (PCA), and all the like. after not really using MATLAB in yeeears, this has been an adventure but i'm surprised at how much i've been able to recall and proud of myself for having no shame in googling MATLAB functions lol. i know i can figure this out, i'm smart(ish).

this hw is due feb 7th (with possibility of an extension if other people in the class take a while) so time to get her done. ft my pupper knocked out on the floor

I like how the 90s cartoon Rogue vs Evo goth Rogue "discourse" has been reignited

To be honest, I never really saw Southern Belle Rogue and Goth Rogue as contradictory--I feel like a modern interpretation can incorporate both. In terms of design, even though I love goth girls in media in general, I honestly prefer headband+jacket Rogue because I feel like that's her most memorable and iconic look and I kind of like the contrast of like... bombshell sexiness with "DO NOT TOUCH"--I like her with a kind of brash personality. It's satisfying to let someone with all that angst be a bruiser, a flying brick. It's kind of ironic because Rogue really was my favorite X-Man for yeeears and I grew up with the Shrinking Violet Anna Paquin Rogue and the Goth X-Men Evolution Rogue, but I watched the OG 90's X-Men the summer before I started college and I fell in love with Flying Brick Rogue.

Also sidenote but X-Men Evolution's Gambit suuuuuuuuucks he sucks sooooo baaaaaaad.
