On a Genshin Poll from a while ago, you said that you could talk about Xinyan way more and it would be nice hear those thoughts! Xinyan is one of favorite Genshin characters (her design is so cool) so if you don't mind talking about her more, I'd love to hear it!

oh i didnt mean xinyan specifically in general i like talking about design (critiquing.nitpicking.praising.etc) so it really extends to most any of the characters. but you asked about xinyan so ill talk about xinyan. design wise shes very nice to look at for. her colors are all so warm with one of my favorite palettes (black/red/white). shes on the simple side compared to alot of other characters and i think its nice makes her alot easier to draw. pretty easy design to remember. for me anyway (big sleeves/braids.big collar. big hair.spikes) i dont really need to give specific reasons tbh her design is just really good. one of the pyro characters ever

let me have two seconds to rant about akechi. for one, his living circumstance was not great. shido in no way supported him, or his mother, thus she was alone in raising him and supporting him. this, was the initial moment of realising his father was absent in his life.

when his mother died he was passed around the foster system, which means each experience he had with a family would have been transitory, nothing ever lasted, if it was by his fault or another fact idk but there was no space for even a semblance of healing from his grief or an opportunity to form an attachment to anyone else. his father views him as nothing, an inconvenience, a useless piece of refuse that he didn't want anything to do with and this has been instilled him in since the day he was able to form a thought about his father. he has worked tirelessly, endlessly to prove that he's worthy of love from someone. his foster families, his father. anyone. | the way he envies joker and the others is because he could never have that. he doesn't even have an identity of his own. the sole thing that kept him clawing his way up the ranks and towards his father was hatred. it's all he's ever known. the festering hatred for his father was the impelling force that kept him going, the only thing that was keeping him upright. if he hadn't harboured that hatred, hadn't let it be his driving force he probably wouldn't have made it as far as he had. he cannot form meaningful bonds because he doesn't have anything other than his hatred. he spent so much of his life in the depths of despair that he possibly didn't even have respite or indulgence in the way of hanging out and having fun with others until he spent time with joker and the others so.

It starts off strained but you find yourself picking up the little things he does that you used to love, pointing out your favourite foods in the menu, listening intently to everything you say, stupidly lovey-dovey puppy eyes as he nods along, his hand on yours, stroking his thumb on the back of your hand, he even said some stupid line about 'me n u' and says soap put him up to it, fuck, you missed his laugh. You find yourself asking about the boys, work, it feels like you and price are just on a date night, like you two used to do before the divorce.

He walks you home at the end of the night, he started with hand holding, and now his arm is somehow around your waist, and he's closer than any ex-husband should be, really. When you get up to your apartment, he looks a little nervous,

"I'm not inviting you over for a nightcap, John."

"I know, love," he says smoothly, "just wondering... if it would be appropriate to end the night with a kiss,"

You feel a faint heat in your cheeks, unsure of what to do... after a few seconds, you nod, looking up at him. You feel his hand tentatively reach out for the back of your head, cradling it while he kisses you, you missed this, the tickle of his beard, his big hands on you, soft lips, soft kisses.

You can feel him actively try to hold back tongue, but the way you open your mouth slightly in the kiss makes him go for it immediately. You feel yourself melt. It's so desperate and carnal, but still so soft, like he doesn't want to push it, but it goes on longer than expected, neither of you really wanting to pull away, eventually you pull back, lips sore, heated faces, you wonder if you should withdraw the nightcap thing and just let him in.

"I had a lovely night, sweetheart, I... would really love to see you again." He says with a flushed face, his hand on your lower back again, going in circles.

"Me too, John."

"Text me, okay? We can go to that tex-mex place you really like, or somewhere fancier," he smiles softly, "I wanna see my woman happy."
