Noah was fuming.

His usual dark eyes were darker than normal as he watched you from across the venue.

He couldn't do anything because it was the middle of the show and if he stopped it for you, everyone would know about the two of you.

You'd been dating for nine months now, somehow being able to keep it a secret from the public eye.

But with the way this guy kept trying to talk to you while you were doing your job at the merch table, it made something burn low in his gut.

Even with the crowded venue, your eyes could find Noah's in a heartbeat when this random guy kept leaning forward against the table.

"Come on, Bad Omens is playing right now. You can sneak away for a few minutes," the sleazy guy licked his lip.

You turned up your face at him. "I'm not surprised that it only takes you a few minutes to fuck."

The guy's smirk turned into a scowl. "You're a real bitch ya know that?"

You waved him off. "Please, you're not telling me anything I don't already know. Now, if you're not going to buy merch, then please leave me alone."

Just as Bad Omens were finishing Broken Youth, your eyes met Noah's over the heads of everyone in the crowd.

'You alright?' His gaze read.

It was a smaller venue so you knew he'd be able to see you shake your head.

"I'm sure a good fuck will loosen ya up. You're too uptight," the guy grabbed your wrist, keeping you from moving to the other end of the booth.

"HEY ASSHOLE!" Noah's loud voice came through the speakers, interrupting the beginning of the Miracle break. "Don't touch her!"

The crowd was dead silent, everyone was shocked to see Noah stop the show.

"What are you going to do about it, pretty boy?" The guy shot back with a loud voice over to Noah.

My eyes snapped over to Matt who was in the sound booth a few feet away from where the merch table was set up.

"Son of a bitch," he mouthed.

Suddenly, Noah disappeared from the stage, and thinking he won, the guy turned back towards you with a smug smile.

He then yanked you halfway over the merch table and your screams echoed.

"I don't see why everyone is so-."

He was cut off by a swift punch to the jaw, knocking him down to the ground.

You followed those familiar tattooed hands up to the face you loved so much, seeing the rage fester in those almond eyes.

"I told you not to touch my girlfriend, asshole," Noah seethed.

The guy wiped the blood away from his mouth before spitting on the ground, rising to his feet.

Noah motioned for you to hide behind him, which you did.

"Girlfriend, huh? Seems like you won't have her for much longer once your career tanks after everyone talks about how you punched an innocent fan."

"Innocent?" Matt chuckled as he came up behind the guy with two security guards in tow. "Everyone here saw Noah protecting his girlfriend from someone who physically assaulted her."

You gripped the back of Noah's tank top, your heart pounding wildly in your chest.

Usually, you could stand up for yourself.

But with the way the guy yanked you towards him it really scared you.

Noah knew and he wrapped him into his embrace and then directed towards Ash and the other guards. "Get him the fuck out of here."

"With fucking pleasure," Ash said, dragging the guy out of the venue.

"Are you alright?" Noah questioned while cupping your cheek.

"Everyone's staring," you mumbled, afraid of the phones pointing at the two of you.

"I don't care about them. I care about you, angel. Are you hurt?" He brushed away the hair from your face now.

"I don't know," you breathed a shaky breath. "I'll be fine. Don't cancel the show. I'll just hang out on side stage with you."

Noah agreed almost immediately and placed a quick kiss on your lips. "Whatever you want, angel."

The above image is brightened. The sideburns are long. Again, I would even go so far as to say they can go in the longest-length category. That's typical for being in Gabriel's presence without humans around.

Gabriel is the supernatural presence that affects the sideburns in such a way for most of the present day story.

As is often the case with Gabriel's presence, the streak can be found more easily in this scene.

Hairstyle Changes

Given the lighting, Crowley's hair looks darker here. The hair in front curls in, up, and back. In the previous scene, the hair near the part curled in, and the front top hair went up and tilted to Crowley's right. In these particular chosen screenshots, the more saturated red streak is more clearly defined with the darker hair.

Earthly Objects

(For reference: Earthly Objects | Earthly Objects Study - Windows Part 1)

Crowley is already holding some books in front of his tie, like earlier. He has re-manifested his jacket back on. The books he is holding are showing their back bindings. They were reversed earlier.

Crowley looks at Gabriel as if to ensure he, Gabriel is touching an earthly object and/or sitting down before Crowley moves to answer the phone.

Crowley touches the phone and names the bookshop.

For paying attention to the pockets...

Gabriel's hands are making two pockets, one bigger and one smaller.

Crowley's Tied Hands probably retie. Why do they even need to retie? Did something in the minisode happen to require it? If so, my best guess is Crowley making himself bigger since he used his hands as part of the process, followed by my next bet guess that the minisodes require it if Crowley's next present day scene has him standing.

Also, the book-throwing may again be related to whatever absurdity is happening with the retying here. I still feel bad seeing them thrown around like that.

Crowley does get lights directly above his head and some to the left though these lights are smaller and more blurry than is often the case for the more understood Overhead Lights.

Along the way of answering the phone, Crowley makes pockets with his body and even gets pockets of light on his face when looking toward the window. Such pockets include the phone.

Because I analyze this game to the extent that I do, some of Crowley's excitement seems to come from not just seeing Maggie approach Nina but that Nina has both her hands in her apron pockets.

Crowley hanging up the phone allows him to place himself at the threshold for the window look. The next present day scene is going to be a very special windows sequence he does for the game.

A window look threshold in Earthly Objects has the character looking at the window without a visible earthly object touch on screen when they look. Presumably with the special circumstances of the phone, Crowley is allowed to reset and pause at this threshold for his upcoming sequence.

Gabriel has no lines in this scene. He is referred to only by the name "Gabriel" twice from Aziraphale on the phone. He is not referred to by the name "Jim," and Crowley does not say either name himself.

Story Commentary

As a general reminder, my sideburns theory goes that Crowley and Aziraphale are borrowing each other's homes to form a special connection.

They are in a phase of doing such a thing at this point the story.

Crowley remotely contacted Aziraphale earlier this episode during Aziraphale's drive.

This time, Aziraphale remotely contacted Crowley.

I've assumed that's one of the steps in the overall process to make this connection happen.

Admittedly, Crowley looked worried before answering and relieved when he did answer.

Another thing I think is relevant is that Aziraphale said "our car" when he proposed near the end of episode 2.

Here, Crowley says "we" twice in representing the bookshop as he answers the phone.

So, now each one of them has verbally claimed their borrowed space as a shared space within this present day story.

no bc im thinking about it and I don't see any season 3 where aziraphale and crowley are separated for more than an episode at most.

I was listening to David Tennant's podcast episode with Neil Gaiman (released Oct 2020) and Neil started talking about something secret he is working on that is, in hindsight, so obviously about good omens.

The exact quote:

"There's a project that I can't talk about right now that I'm writing with somebody I can't identify right now- this is a terrible way of going into a thing- where we'd been working on it for months and months, and we've been building everything up, but we didn't know how it ended. And, finally, we were in the same physical space, actually having a conversation that wasn't on the phone, and all of the sudden we had the ending. And having the ending, knowing beat by beat just what the emotional ending of the thing was, opened up the entire thing like a door. Because we had the plot, and we'd had the plot for a while, and we just weren't sure why we should care. Everything turned, and I immediately knew what the opening scene had to be. And what's lovely is nothing sort of really changes in the plot, but it now allows us to go, okay, that's important, that thing that we didn't know was gonna be important, that's important. It gives us a feeling of, or at least it gives me a feeling of bubbly excitement. Which means that anybody I can take on this journey is going to get to that place and be just as excited as I was."

(And then he immediately cites an example where he was writing Good Omens LOL. The signs were all there!)

ANYWAY, I think it's so interesting that the emotional beat of Aziraphale and Crowley being separated was not figured out until well into the writing process. It leads me to think that Aziraphale was never promoted in the unwritten sequel, right? So if they're following the plot of this unwritten sequel closely, I don't see how Aziraphale and Crowley could be separated for longer than an episode. We only have six episodes, and Season 3 has more plot beats to hit than Season 2 did.

It also makes me think about how Aziraphale leaving for Heaven really is just meant to be more of an emotional moment to plant the seeds for development in him and Crowley's relationship. I mean, obviously it is, but I don't know much significance it'll actually have in the plot of Season 3? If that makes sense? This is just me throwing out thoughts here, feel free to add anything!!

• They dont know how to express their feelings normally, let alone while you're standing right there in front of them, and looking at them with your gorgeous eyes and smiling your little smile and oh god oh fuck---

• It comes out as mostly a string of incoherent words and noises that sound like they might be having some kind of celestial stroke.

Mainly aimed towards marauders fans bc I see a lot of people being really aggressive about it there but:

💫 Not liking fanon characterisation doesn't make you better than the people who do 💫

Someone changing a character to fit how they enjoy seeing them isn't a crime bc it's a fictional character

Making a character queer in canon content isn't ruining them and it doesn't make the writing cheap or stupid

You can address harmful stereotypes without being a bitch and shutting down entire perceptions of the character because it isn't usually the older writers and artists creating flawed presentations and it's certainly not all of them, you're just being dramatic and trying to demonise an exploration of a character that you don't agree with.

Reminder that a lot of fandom creators especially in the marauders and ofmd fandoms are minors. Young teenagers writing in their school break don't need to be screamed at and called homophobes or racists for making accidentally including a stereotype into the character, they may appreciate being warned about the misconceptions so they can correct them...but berating creators and saying they're all fucking everything up and destroying everything is not helpful; it's mean and they aren't going to take your advice, they're just never going to write again. If you don't like the characterisation just fucking ignore it like the rest of us.

Even after writing a huge essay, I still can't stop thinking about Good Omens. I had to draw things to cope with my emotions. :')

Angel Crowley has been such a blessing, I just had to draw him. David Tennant is really great at staring in awe at a greenscreen the vast universe, isn't he?

By contrast I also drew warrior Aziraphale in the uniform we see in Season 1. Maybe this could have taken place during the often alluded Great War? I just wanted to draw Aziraphale wielding the flaming sword.

Okay, I hope this is not what Season 3 will turn out to be, but I couldn't help but draw Supreme Archangel Aziraphale in the cold, grey suit with a stern and unsympathetic face, just like the rest of the archangels.

Next are just some face studies. :) Aziraphale is so soft and round, he's a pain to draw lmao. Crowley on the other hand is such a scrawny lad, you can see every bone! I love drawing his face!

Here, have some fluff. This is how I want to see them at the end of Season 3. Happy, together, no more barriers between them. I don't really care what (if any) label they give each other (a team of the two of them, lovers, soul mates, partners, a couple) in the end as long as they finally start opening up to each other, talk and work their issues out, so they can spend the rest of their existence together.

(The last picture is just a sweet scene I wanted to draw, think nothing of it. Of course Crowley has a ring too (hidden in the Bentley), but he couldn't summon up the courage to propose until Aziraphale beat him to it.)

#I got back into writing fanfiction like fall of last year for a small fandom and I went HARD #But this year has been rough emotionally and physically so I haven't really been as involved in it anymore #and I was feeling sad about it because it was nice to have my passion for writing and creating back #and I felt like I was losing it again #but no actually what happened was the horrible exhausting summer ended and I was recovering from it #and then Good Omens S2 came out and I dedicated literally every brain cell to it in ways outside of just fanfic #and then I checked and actually it's only been a couple of months since the last time I wrote fanfic #and I wrote more this year that I remembered #my point being I don't have any reason to worry that I'm not in a good place mentally right now #I'm actually doing really good and I haven't lost anything
