❄️WEIGHING IT UP❄️ What's one thing you love about writing your current work in progress... and one part you really do not enjoy? Writing a novel is like stepping into a world of endless possibilities. The imagination runs wild and the characters come to life in ways you never thought possible. However, as with any journey, there are bound to be some obstacles along the way. One of the biggest challenges I face as a fantasy author is the dreaded 'middle of the book slump.' It's that point where the excitement of the beginning has worn off and the end is still not in sight. It's easy to lose motivation and wonder if all the time and effort put into the story is worth it. But that's the beauty of writing, it's all a test of perseverance. It's about pushing through the difficult parts and coming out the other side with a story that you're proud of. So, to all my fellow writers out there, keep pushing. Keep writing. It wasn't easy to live in the closet growing up as a Catholic Altar Boy; at church I kept being told the same 'going to hell' speech, all of the girls I liked assumed I was a gay guy, and I got bullied for being too effeminate and strange. On top of that, I had been molested for years by a family member. And boys weren't supposed to cry about stuff like that. Eventually you will find the resolve to say 'f**k it' and find the resolve and determination to be yourself, unapologetically, no matter what others may say or accuse you of. No reason to stay alive for even one more day is a bad reason; do it to continue the story, to finish a book or movie series, or just do it to spite the naysayers who want to crush you. Find a reason or a cause to stay in the day to day struggle, help others as we all find our way through the Forest of Life, and if you can, pay some kindness forward.
