Honestly feel like Aran Ojiro is such an underrated character in the fandom, and he is such good hubby material as well. He's just so husband coded. explaining my autistic hinata hc

“star,” you may be asking, “why are you doing this to yourself? you are sick and should be sleeping, not explaining something nobody has asked you to explain.”

the answer? because i want to and none of you can stop me.

to start with, a special interest in autism is an interest that is passionate and intensely focused and they can be absorbing to the point that they’re the only thing that somebody wants to do or talk about (they’re also typically much longer lasting than hyperfixations). you can very obviously see these characteristics in hinata’s love for volleyball and how it seems to be the only thing he talks about. he practices all of the time, and sure it’s to get better, but that comes from an all encompassing love of the sport.

he also uses volleyball to connect with people in meaningful ways. one example off the top of my head is when he meets kenma for the first time. sure, the interaction starts with him asking about a video game, but you can see how hinata becomes so much more invested in the conversation once kenma confirms that he plays volleyball. he immediately becomes much more comfortable in the situation with the presence of somebody who also has an interest in volleyball.

he seems to have trouble connecting to people without the use of volleyball. he doesn’t have any friends besides the people he knows from volleyball, and that may be a lot of people but it’s still true. we don’t know what happened with his friends from middle school, but we never see or hear from them again after he starts high school. in my opinion, that indicates that he has trouble keeping up with friends when they’re not seeing each other fairly often. which also helps explain why he was so nervous about losing his friends when he was in brazil (other than the obvious reasons). he also seems to have trouble picking up social cues, when he met kenma he didn’t really pick up on the fact that kenma seemed pretty uncomfortable with the situation. there are also other instances that i cannot be arsed to find rn, but do know that they exist.

also the gestures that he makes when he’s talking about volleyball seem like stimming to me, especially since he does it when talking about what i see as his special interest. i’m speaking from personal experience when i say that i tend to stim more when i’m talking about my special interest or a current hyperfixation. the fidgeting that he does in general could be considered stimming since they’re repetitive physical movements (though those aren’t the only type of stim they are the one that applies the most to hinata).

the way he explains how volleyball works in his mind but it doesn’t make sense to anybody else (besides noya). idk how to explain this one, just thought i’d mention it. if anyone has anything to add for this one please let me know.

I’m mad, jittery, and cold so have some Hanzo Hasashi and (my oc) Skylar headcanons no one asked for.

Skylar’s nickname is just Sky that’s what I’m going to refer to her as. For now

She does not know how she got here by any means, she doesn’t know if she is even remotely close to home (she’s not, not by a long shot) she kinda hit her head before all this and as a result is a little disoriented.

So note her surprise when she was confronted by a small group of people being hostile and asking questions. and after fighting for a bit she’s restrained. And taken away.

When Sky and Hanzo meet both were pretty skeptical about each other

Sky. A traumatize teen on unknown territory. (And was just kidnapped.) and Hanzo who has no idea who she is and is not apart of the Shirai Ryu.

And just to add before I go on, Sky is non-vocal when it comes to people she doesn’t know so communication is a bit of a challenge.(And it did irk Hanzo a bit because. I mean she could easily be an enemy. Yk.)But luckily after giving her a pencil and a piece of paper (after taking her restraints off and watching very closely) he was kind of able to get to know what happened a little bit. and Skylar does know ASL btw if you wanted to know.

Hanzo was kinda surprised to hear how old she was, she looked a little old to be 17 (having a rbf and an unhealthy amount of stress can do that to you, he would know) he thought she was in her early 20s. But he would never tell her that. Thinks she already receives comments like that.

But Hanzo takes Sky under his wing anyway. He obviously isn’t going to leave her to fend for herself when he clearly has no idea where she came from. Who her guardians are.

Hanzo has grown fond of her, sees her as almost like a daughter, while he is a little scared as to what that means. He thinks it won’t be to bad. He already accepted that his family is gone he can’t do to much about it he already avenged them. I think he will see this as a new beginning after a while.

The first few months are rough. Sky has a hard time adjusting, and Hanzo has no idea how to help her it isn’t like she is going to open up right away. But he does let her know that he is there for her if she needs it.

Hanzo is very observant and knows how to read body language (I think it’s pretty obvious he does but I think that’s just me) and over the months knows how to read her with perfection. 

The same goes for Sky as well she was trained to do so. She can also read people like a book just based off of first impressions alone even before her training it’s just a born gift of her’s

Skylar would after a while see this as a blessing from whatever higher being was looking after her. she just hopes this stays. She is actually very curious about everything there and hopes to gain a lot of knowledge. But that’s not the only reason why she wants to stay.
