In this article, we share eight vital tips from our eye care experts to help you maintain optimal eye health.
Understanding Eye Health
The Importance of Eye Health Maintaining good eye health is essential not just for clear vision but also for overall quality of life. Your eyes are your windows to the world, and caring for them starts with understanding how they work and what they need to function at their best.
Common Eye Issues and Their Impact Common eye conditions such as myopia, hyperopia, and glaucoma can significantly affect daily activities and overall life quality. Early detection and regular check-ups at a trusted Eye Hospital in Ambikapur can prevent these conditions from worsening.
Expert Tips for Eye Health
1. Regular Eye Examinations Regular check-ups are paramount. Experts at Sankalp Eye Hospital recommend annual eye examinations to catch issues early and maintain good eye health.
2. Proper Nutrition for Eye Health Eating a balanced diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins C and E can help ward off age-related vision problems like macular degeneration and cataracts.
3. Protective Eyewear Whether you’re playing sports, working in hazardous environments, or exposed to UV rays, protective eyewear is essential to shield your eyes from injury and harmful exposures.
4. Avoid Excessive Screen Time With the rise of digital devices, eye strain has become more common. Limiting screen time, using anti-glare screens, or adopting the 20–20–20 rule (every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds) can help mitigate eye strain.
5. Quit Smoking Smoking can increase the risk of developing cataracts, optic nerve damage, and macular degeneration. Quitting smoking is a crucial step toward better eye health.
6. Manage Chronic Conditions Managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension can help prevent vision problems. These conditions can lead to eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy when uncontrolled.
7. Use High-Quality Eye Drops If you suffer from dry eyes, consult with your eye doctor at Sankalp Eye Hospital about the best eye drops for your condition. Ensure they are of high quality and suited for your specific needs.
8. Regularly Update Your Prescription If you wear glasses or contact lenses, regularly updating your prescription is crucial. Wearing outdated prescriptions can strain your eyes and lead to further complications.

How often should I visit an eye doctor? It is recommended to visit an eye doctor at least once a year for a comprehensive eye exam.
2. What foods are good for my eyes? Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins C and E, such as leafy green vegetables, fish, eggs, nuts, and citrus fruits, are excellent for eye health.
3. Can wearing glasses all the time worsen my eyesight? No, wearing glasses as prescribed does not worsen your eyesight; it corrects your vision.
4. How can I protect my eyes from computer screen damage? Using anti-glare screens, maintaining a proper distance from the screen, using adequate lighting, and following the 20–20–20 rule can help protect your eyes.
5. What are the signs of eye problems? Common signs include frequent headaches, blurred vision, dry eyes, and seeing halos around lights.
6. How does smoking affect my eyes? Smoking can increase the risk of cataracts, macular degeneration, and damage to the optic nerve.

Happy Greenskeeper Gathering! I almost forgot to do a nature themed piece for this week but here’s a surprisingly quick doodle of my nature sage Verdant for the occasion. I’m insanely happy with how this turned out and discovered a new brush I adore in PS.

Lair Review for ShadowKitty
@shadowkitty-fr-art
Alright SK sorry for the wait, but you’re finally up next~
224! That’s a lot of colorful and beautiful dragons! Glancing through your lair makes me feel like I’m looking at “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” by Georges Seurat.
Forest Lily
Tumblr media
Nature themed dragons are my JAM so of course I’m going to single out the cool leafy dudes. Forest Lily is so unique-- I really like how you took the splash of color from the Opal tertiary and used it as an opportunity to bring in even more color (the blues and purples of the flowerfalls). Nature IS colorful, it’s not always about just being green, and I adore how you’ve represented that here with Forest Lily.
Ashe
Tumblr media
Ashe is a solid take on some old fashioned apparel. I really like how you used the reds of this armor to pair nicely with the dark reds of his primary. The etching on the armor, and the highlights go so well with the whites of his wings and pearl.Pairing him with the cinder nymph to really bring out the greys of the armor was an excellent choice. He’s got such a regal and heroic vibe.
Eren
Tumblr media
Oh Eren’s colors took my breath away. He almost looks like the planet Earth with all the greens and blues, and little “cloud” of the grimplate. What I really like about Eren is how the different shades of blue come together so nicely. Even the more cyan hued blues in mantis find a home in his overall palette. What a magnificent looking dragon, I could stare all day if I wanted.
Sol
Tumblr media
Everything about Sol makes him a great light rep. The gradient from Gold to Sunshine to Carrot is so satisfying to look at. The oranges allow the apparel to stand out more, given that they’re much lighter, and I think you did an excellent job with choosing the perfect dragon to wear this Light themed apparel. He doesn’t seem too busy, but it’s still entertaining to the eyes to admire the details of his outfit. Pairing him up with the Shining Cancer familiar goes really well with the raiments he is wearing. Phenomenal job here
Amethyst
Tumblr media
I see that Amethyst is in your projects tabs, but I do want to comment on how well you’ve dressed her. She makes for an excellent witchy arcane rep. The flowers from the crown and veil have given the outfit a nice crystal forest vibe, and I particularly enjoy how you married the birdskull feathers with the orchid feathered wings. She looks stunning, and I can’t wait to see her when she’s complete!
Viridi
Tumblr media
Not only is the skin you chose for this dragon just absolutely beautiful, but to pair this skin with the dragon’s fire eyes is just galaxy brain energy. It’s SUCH a subtle detail on a dragon that is ‘just wearing a skin’ but it’s BRILLIANT. Plus you get such an intricate looking dragon without the pain of trying to layer apparel and find exact colors. I applaud your work with Viridi
Pyra
Tumblr media
All of your spiral flight reps are just so well done and Pyra is no different. I’m blown away at how her reds and oranges with the crystal/facet combination looks so much like actual flames here. Speaking of noodles, pairing her with the new burning virgo familiar is just too much of a fabulous coincidence. Her marigold color goes well with the molten lava in the tubes along her back in the crucible apparel. Overall the colors blend so nicely together without washing anything out on Pyra. Well done
Lucien
Tumblr media
Lucien is SUCH a stunning dragon. I mean the use of the bewitching ruby set on this dragon gives him such a devilish and attractive look! But you went a step further by giving him that gorgeous accent. He looks like a royal keeper of flames and like he may have an intimidating charm to him. I mean woof, I think I’m going to need a drink of water before I move onto the next dragon...
Spinach
Tumblr media
I love everything about the colors spinach has, but we all know by now that I’m a huge sucker for blue and green. But I also want to point out at how well his eyes match the underbelly and birdskull apparel. I also chose him to be on this list because of his very interesting bio. I love how you’ve given him some fun lore and personality, and I can easily imagine the green birdskull feathers as spinach he carts around trying to get his friends to eat.
Noxie
Tumblr media
Noxie here makes an amazing witch. Her smoke gene looks as though she’s peering over a smoking cauldron, and I looove the halloween themed colors she has. The riot of rot apparel really work to bring out those spooky vibes that Noxie is so obviously about. It feels as though she’s got something up her sleeves, and I’m not sure I’d want to test my fate around her. She’s so fun to look at and her personality really shines through with the outfit you’ve given her.
Thank you for letting me review your lair, ShadowKitty, you have such a unique and intricate style when it comes to dragons and that is something to be proud of. Great job in constructing your lair!

Lair review for reedshine #325401
@reedshine-fr
Tumblr media
i usually look at the very first dragon on the very first page immediately, but barayas held my attention when i started there so i had to get a closer look. the combination of gold and dark pink/magenta is absolutely gorgeous, in a really rich and decadent way, like wine in a cup with gold accents. plus the black and white, and that accent? what an absolutely gorgeous bog girl. she looks intimidating as hell with that RoR accent too. i want her to kick my ass.
Tumblr media
this is definitely an example of a VERY well-put together minimalist outfit on top of some really nice colors. the light on top of the fire halo REALLY matches with that brightshine accent, especially since it has some of those fiery orange spots in its color scheme, like her head IS the sun that are making those streaming sunbeams. the scattering of gold in the seraph jewelry and the silks echoes the sunbeams BEAUTIFULLY. plus the light primal eyes on top of that? absolutely stunning light dragon 10/10
Tumblr media
oh yes. this is some good-ass use of the flowering gladeboughs. brown looks absolutely FANTASTIC with colors like antique and maize, and they just go so fucking well with the pastel rose thorn set, the rapier, the woodbasket, the gladeboughs. it’s just such a nice unity of color, giving the dragon this lovely sort of dignified feeling. i want to shake hands with this dragon but the pastel rose thorn arm tangle would probably stab my hand.
Tumblr media
ohhh god. ohhhhhh my god. this dragon is. AMAZING. i saw from the thumbnail that i would like him but then i actually looked at him and fell in love?? the third eye of the accent is so striking with the light halo bringing attention to his face, and the way the plague unusual eyes are so dark that they seem to disappear means he looked almost like he didnt have any eyes at all except for that one single one right in front of the horns. the light-ish aesthetic of his outfit on top of the triple shadow coloration and the lore of him being shade-touched is such a cool contrast. also, that art in his bio? absolutely stunning. i love this dragon.
Tumblr media
swamp witch? swamp witch. purple and green is such a lovely witchy color combination and this dragon ROCKS it. i feel like she could tell my fortune with the skeletal chimes on her wings and then disappear into the woods before i could pay her and then her price would be mysteriously extracted later when i least expected it. i really like how the scales tert on her feet/arms and face kinda match the starker light grey of the skeletal chimes on her wings?? please tell her i love her.
Tumblr media
that accent was positively LUMINOUS from the thumbnail and i zoomed tf in on this dragon the moment my eyes passed over her. abyss ghost on top of red range primary/secondary seems like such a cool combination that i never even considered before but i love it??? especially works well with that outfit on top. the little bit of text in the bio is also super intriguing and mysterious, as if i would only encounter this dragon after seeing a brush fire start in the desert thanks to a lightning strike and it would seem more like a hallucination than an actual encounter. set me on fire 10/10
Tumblr media
now i am ALWAYS a sucker for a colorful-ass spiral, and this is definitely an excellent example of one, so the moment i laid my eyes on dumaya i fell in love. the combination of cool colors all together is so pleasing to the eyes for me, since i prefer cool colors over warm ones, but the slight smattering of warm colors (yellow) gives this boy a sense of balance, especially since it’s in the crystalscales, the wild banner, as well as the twilight sylvan set. the accents of pink on top really give the sense of a cool-colored rainbow of colors that’s quite gorgeous. and then i go into his bio and see his title in “necromancer” and im floored. if i could be reanimated by someone this colorful i wouldn’t even mind because at least i know i’ll be brightly colored and fashionable.
Tumblr media
i saw this dragon and my mood was immediately just 👌 👀 x1000. i am SUCH a fucking sucker for the monstrous and horrifying angel aesthetic and this boy’s got it in spades. the sword. the halo. the drapes. the stormclaws. the wisps. the way his eyes exactly match the color of the wisps??? i like how in his bio it’s just like “bonkers” aside listing all those other tropes because it certainly paints an interesting picture of the character. i want to know more about this intimidating boi.
Tumblr media
a beautiful, fresh, leafy naturey boy. i feel ;like if i was in the same room as this dragon that he’d smell like flowers and fresh cut grass. it’s so fun to imagine this huge-ass imperial walking around with massive trees on his shoulders and these huge fuckin butterflies that have like foot-and-a-half-wide wingspans fluttering around him at all timesall these greens go together so wonderfully, with the tiny bits of brown on the sage set. he’s gorgeous and i wanna climb the gladeboughs on his shoulders.

VEGETABLE-DYED EGGS
VEGETABLE-DYED EGGS
Before the days of packaged dyes, all Easter eggs were colored with pigments extracted from vegetables. It’ s easy and very cool to isolate the green from spinach leaves, the red from cranberries, and the purple from a head of cabbage. And once you’ve got the pigment out, you can make the most amazing paintings or dyed eggs. When you extract the color from natural objects, like vegetables, flowers, and minerals, you are practicing an ancient art. At one time, much of the training in being a painter included learning to extract pigments from nature and stabilize them into paint. When Leonardo da Vinci (who was as famous a scientist as he was an artist) painted the Mona Lisa, he had to start by getting all the vegetables he needed to make his paint. Makes 12 eggs YOWZA! EA T UP! PLAN IN ADV ANCE 30–60 MINUTES GA THER A T HOME LESS THAN $5 SOME COOKING BE CAREFUL! HAVE A GROWN-UP HELP YOU DO THIS. GET THIS: About 2 cups produce (170 to 230 g) to make your dyestuff: Reds: Red onion skin, cranberries, raspberries, beets, pomegranate Oranges: Carrots, yellow onion skin, orange rind, paprika (use 1 /4 cup/30 g) Yellows: Lemon or orange peel, green tea, chamomile tea, ground turmeric (use 1 /4 cup/30 g) Greens: Golden apple peel, spinach leaves, liquid chlorophyll (available online) Blues: Red cabbage leaves, purple grape juice Purples: Hibiscus tea, small amount of purple grape juice, Red Zinger tea 2 tablespoons (60 ml) white vinegar 12 hard-cooked eggs, in the shell Vegetable or mineral oil (optional) Medium saucepan Fine-mesh sieve 1-quart (1-L) glass measuring cup Crayons or wax pencils (optional) Rubber bands (optional) Slotted spoon Wire cooling rack Clean piece of sponge (optional) DO THIS: MAKE THE DYE 1. Put your dyestuff in the saucepan and cover with water . (Note that purple grape juice and liquid chlorophyll need no cooking—just rub directly on the egg.) 2. Bring to a boil, turn the heat down to low , and simmer for 15 minutes. 3. Check the color by dipping a piece of paper towel into the dye. If it doesn’t look colorful enough, simmer the dye for another 15 minutes. 4. Pour the dye through the sieve into the measuring cup. Stir in the vinegar . DYE THE EGGS 1. W ash the eggs with soapy water to remove any oil from the surface. 2. If you want, you can draw on the eggshells with crayon or something else waxy . The eggshell won’t absorb dye on the areas you colored. Y ou can also tie-dye your eggs by wrapping rubber bands of varying thickness around them. Once the eggs are dyed and dried, just remove the rubber bands to reveal the design. (If you want to eat the eggs right away , you can shell them before dyeing—and then feast on a rainbow of hard boiled eggs!) 3. Use the slotted spoon to lower the eggs into the dye. Leave them in the dye until you get the color you want. The longer they stay in the dye, the deeper the color will be. DRY AND FINISH 1. Remove the eggs with the slotted spoon and put on the wire rack to dry . 2. Naturally dyed eggs have a dull finish. For a textured finish, dab the eggs with a bit of clean sponge before the dye dries. If you want to make them semi-glossy , you can rub them with some vegetable or mineral oil once they’re dry . HOW DID THA T HAPPEN? Ther e ar e four families of plant pigments: Chlorophyll, found in gr een leafy vegetables, is gr een. Caratenoids, found in carr ots, peppers, tomatoes, and watermelon, make r eds, oranges, and yellows. Anthocyanins, found in cabbage berries, radishes, and potatoes, make r eds and purples. Betaines, found in beets, char d, and cactus pear , make r eds and yellows. Although most dyes used to color fabric or jelly beans or Easter eggs ar e now made fr om artificial ingr edients, at one time all the pigments in paints and dyes came fr om natur e—stones, soil, bugs, and vegetables. Getting the color out of a vegetable isn’ t har d: just chop them up and steep out the color , the same way you would make tea. Once your color tea is made, you need to acidify it to get it to stick to the egg. Eggs ar e lar gely pr otein, which ar e weak acids and ar e looking to attach themselves to str onger acids. By mixing vinegar into your dye, you cr eate a str ong acid that the pr oteins in the egg eagerly attach themselves to.
