I'm Amethyst (she/her), and I'm your local fanfic gremlin. I've written a lot for a lot of fandoms, right now I am caught in the Hermit/Traffic/Empires brainrot, and if that's how you've ended up here, welcome welcome!

Right now, I have two WIP AUs!

Through the Sky-Blue Cracks 🌤️

My Hot Guy/Cute Guy, Over-City/Under-City AU that has a lot more going on in it now, it's grown pretty big and is organized in chronological order, not by publishing order, so I write up and down on the timeline filling in parts and pieces as I go!

TTSBC takes place in a modern/slightly sci-fi AU with superheroes, biotech, secrets to hide, trauma to unpack, and as much humor as I can attempt to fit in as well!

Features the local superheroes crushing on each other, anxious writer meets intrepid reporter, the drama professors who can't keep their hands to themselves, penpals gone wild, resident middle-aged married couple who happen to be a mobster and a mad genius, the local cottagecore lesbians, bad boy butterfly and cat lady, protective big sister, Zom-Mom and Sentient Glowstick, a very tired Guy-in-the-Chair with a permanent headache, and more yet to be added! I've got lots of plans left for this AU, so if you're interested, please come check it out!

Traveling Thieves 🪽

My dark fantasy AU! This one has some heavy themes going on, so I'd encourage reading the tags carefully before jumping in! I'm very proud of how it is turning out, dealing with breaking out conditioned headspaces, survival in a sick system, negotiating power imbalance, the power of friendship (no, really), and of course we've got elves, mercenaries, magic, swords, sorcery, rogues, redstone, and lots more fun stuff like that! Also lots of adorable birbs, one traumatized fiery boy, a mer with an attitude, a good doggo, and hurt/comfort galore! Giving everyone a chance to believe that they've all got a shot at getting lucky.

A little side project of mine to try and stretch my writing style!

Once in awhile, I will be running a poll with prompts that have been sent in via reblogs, replies, asks, and messages! Please send some in if you have any ideas!

Whatever prompt wins the poll, I will write and add to the series!

They can be as broad as a simple one-word prompt, or you can even give a brief description of a couple of sentences! Last thing: Feel free to request where you want the fic to take place! Especially when we're talking Hermit/Traffic/Empires stuff, if you want it to be within the Minecraft server world of that specific series, within a certain one of the Life Series, a modern AU, a fantasy AU, or even TTSBC or Traveling Thieves if you have ideas for them! Just know that if anything requested for TTSBC or Traveling Thieves contradicts or maybe overlaps with any future plans for those AUs, I might not be able to accept them 😓

As far as rules go...I do not write NSFW. I am happy to write romance and let things get a little spicy 🔥 but keep in mind I'll always end up fading to black...also no heavy gore, violence, body horror, things of that nature. I am very much a fan of writing whump and hurt/comfort though, so please send those ideas my way!

9 People to Know Better (except I'm not tagging 9 people)

I don't normally do tag games, but I got tagged in this twice (by @jealous-kippen and @remmixx, my beloveds <3) so here I am! (also as I'm writing this out I am realizing that while both posts were titled the same way, it looks like they had different question prompts??? So I'm just gonna combine the two)

Favorite Color: Purple! Any shade will have my heart but I am partial to more red-toned purples. (PV, if that means anything to anyone who sees this other than me, you know who you are)

Currently Reading: Three things! In terms of actual books, I've been slowly making my way through the Riordanverse since my university did The Lightning Thief in my second year (first school in my state to do it once the rights were released!) since I somehow never got into Percy Jackson as a kid, and I'm currently on Son of Neptune. I'm also one like my third or fourth re-read of Eurydice by Sara Ruhl, since that's the play I'm designing the costumes for for my senior project. And in terms of fanfic, I woke up to a notification about this yesterday and Actually Screeched.

Last Song: Dial Drunk by Noah Kahan (ft. Post Malone), which was a bit of an accident. I use siri to request music while I'm driving and I asked for Dial Drunk and was singing along until I got jumpscared by the slight difference before Post Malone's verse. Although if you look at my spotify, the ROTPL album has been on repeat for weeks.

Currently Watching (Series): I've been hyperfixated on ROTPL and have watched it over a dozen times at this point, which is probably not healthy, so I put on NCIS last night for background noise while I ate dinner and accidentally watched like six episodes.

Currently Watching (Movie): Saw the Barbie movie the night before the actual opening with my coworkers (We don't cross picket lines people! I was not asked nor invited by any company, and I paid full price for my ticket. There's a one-screen theatre in the town where I'm doing summer stock, this relic from the 50's, and they were able to get access to the film a day early and did a special first come first serve premiere.) and we all sobbed the entire way through.

Current Obsession: Rise of the Pink Ladies. Full stop. I'd seen clips of it when it first aired in April but I was iffy on it in spite of how good it looked. Like most, I'm a little tired of reboots and remakes, and while I did clock Cynthia as being queer within two seconds, (I believe my exact words were "That's either a very butch lesbian or the eggiest egg to ever egg.") I was Convinced it was a queerbait situation. Plus I was nearing finals and didn't have time to get into a new show. But then Crushing Me was trending on tiktok and I realized this was not queerbait, so I put it on to have something playing while I packed for summer stock and it's been the only thing I can think about since mid May. It got me writing fanfic again for the first time in years, if that tells you anything. Speaking of,

Currently Working On: A follow-up to my previous fic, Steady, Steady! I wanted to have it up this week, but it is a behemoth. I'm a little over halfway through my plot outline and I'm at 10,441 words. Fun fact, this will be my longest single-chapter fic so far. Not just in the fandom, not just on AO3, but ever (so far!)

normally i rag on azami for his choice of wearing baggy pants in like... every outfit he puts together himself, but i actually like this one

i think it helps that the pants are a light colour so they look like a cute summer outfit rather than the usual trash bag lookin ass shit he has in his spring and autumn fits

also the graphic on his tee kinda looks like the lesbian pride flag if you're looking from afar

banri autumn:

So now that Wednesday is cuddling up to Birb, she's in the perfect position to just lie on her and not let her leave so she can ask her questions about -

1. Why she was such a dumbass to think she could take on a werewolf.

2. Why she's been avoiding her the past week.

3. What's going on with her in general (and why did they drop her off at the hospital, because Wednesday has been dying to know)

But most importantly...

How did you get into Fire Emblem? A friend of mine introduced it to me in 6th grade and like any autistic child I immediately got completely obssessed

I've poked around some, and I'm gonna take more of a look when I'm done cooking dinner. You've got some neat stuff though! ☺️

As for lgbtq ship content in my fic... Really kinda depends on what you're looking for. Since I'm firmly of the opinion there's no such thing as a straight Sonic character (even if there are characters that are convinced they are... *stares long and hard at Fang*), not even the seemingly straight ships could classify as that. But we'll ignore Bark and Jewel and Fang and Mina for now. Here's a round up of all the other ships that will appear, in one form or another, in When the Day Met the Night:

-Whispangle - They've been together for years in this fic. They live together, they get a subplot where they're both planning to propose to each other on the same day, we might get a couple stories about Tangle's childhood as a disaster gay, from both her and from Jewel. We love to see it.

-Espilver - We never see Silver, and they're not together yet, but Espio's crush on the hedgehog gets discussed several times... even by the ninja detective himself later on in the fic... 👀

-SonJet - They're not together, but we find out later Jet has feelings and Amy's trying to help. (She's legitimately trying to help BTW, she's moved on from Sonic, so no sabotage here! Except for maybe self sabotage, because Jet is a disaster. 😂)

-Mightourge - We also, sadly, never see Scourge, but Mighty tells the tale of their love story to Jewel in a later chapter. They, like Whispangle, have also been together for some time. Also, if the tale sounds familiar, it's totally @mightourge 's tale of how they got together. 😂

-Cuorb - We'll only see them for like, a chapter and a half near the VERY END, but we've got gay robots! ☺️

-Shadfinite - IF YOU KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR, THERE'S THE TINIEST HINT OF SHADFINITE LMAO! I bet @bitter-sweet-coffee can find it! (It's in Chapter 5, Izzy! 😂) It's admittedly, a very vague line of dialogue, but we'll see more Shadfinite in my later fics. (This probably doesn't count, I just wanted to set off Izzy LOL)

-Donite (Don the Rooster and Nite the Owl) - We'll see them for a paragraph way later, but those are two gay birbs, you cannot convince me otherwise. They're husbands in this, we'll find out. 🥰

-Misc. OC ships: Rune's (@mightourge ) Sting the Wasp and Tough the Beetle, my Spinella the Spider and Mae the Red Panda... that's all I can think of right now OC wise. I might be missing someone. 🤔

The good news is WtDMtN's the first of a whole series I'm working on, so there will be pay offs to some of these hinted at ships and more ships that will follow in later fics. One hint for a future bit you might take interest in is Bark's cousin Crystal (a very butch jock lesbian, we find out) gets together with Fiona Fox eventually. 👀

13. which ocs make the rules? which ocs follow those rules, and which ocs break them? Gimme

OCs and rules... Honestly, most of my OCs have inclinations to breaking the law, but generally run by their own rules, so I'm going to go off of rules created by other characters, but are not parts of the legal system. [I do have at least one person looking over my shoulder and commenting, so I'll try to keep this coherent?]

Make Rules:

Of the 'Avalon' triad, Cynth definitely makes the rules, mostly because they've had the most experience on their own and avoiding law enforcement/mercenaries. During their time stuck together, Levi does cause some chaos in this, but Cynth sets up the boundaries and warnings on ships and planets and whatnot. [Side note for Tony, Finch's friend/manager, who does have rules in place. Not that the birb man listens. RIP Tony's patience.]

For TCT, said shoulder spy thinks Cass would make the most rules, but they're wrong and here's why: Cass has goals, but until the last third of the 1st novel, none of them apply to any of her allies. No, rules fall under Kal, Melpome, and Emir's realms of thought. Mel as an older sibling got the job of wrangling the youngers in her household, and Kal got it after running as an impromptu commander for several years. Emir... Emir's just a worrywart and will freak at the drop of a hate. The man is a book nerd with a grand total of zero outside experience.

I've been volun-told a project I need to work on is my Unhinged 1930's Dark Fantasy project from last year, so I'm throwing that in here too. -> Gideon, Simon's best friend and right hand, makes all the rules and gets ignored every time. This poor man needs a hug and cuddles and someone to actually listen for once.

Follows Rules[mostly]:

Levi has spent so long stuck in a celestial body, she doesn't really know how anything works anymore. Or, more accurately, she does but it's all jumbled with the last several millennia, and she certainly doesn't know the difference between generations. She has a habit of breaking things tho. Her full nickname is Leviathan for a reason.

Cass tends to be reluctant, but so long as it doesn't impede her plans too much, she'll usually go along. Theon too, tho generally impulsive, will go along with what's been implemented.

In the beginning, Vera follows a lot of what she's told, and after she listens to Gideon[sort of] and the boundaries of others. The other Royal Child listens to those they admire, which includes Gideon and [unfortunately] Vera + anyone Vera vouches for.

Chaos Gremlin with no regard for anyone's sanity:

Given Finch is a *literal* demon, sooooooo... I have several incidents of Cynth having to whack some sense into him. Levi also distracts him from doing the stupid. His quote in my notes is 'Arson is always the answer' for a reason. [This usually applies to either his own health OR if there's a problem in front of him.]

Rhysa, Heir to the Thrown and Holder of Cursed Saving Throw Dice. Think Grog and Vex'ahlia crossed their stat blocks and put it in a buff lesbian.

Simon, my dear, whyyyyyyyyy... I haven't figured out if it's just general misunderstanding of Gideon's advice or complete ignorance of what anyone tells him, but this man has a singular brain cell, and it's either worrying over his people or being a simp. Rules have no place in his head.

Cat’s Not-All-Encompassing Character Ranking

Okay, so I have to admit that I omitted a lot of characters I don't have strong opinions on. Most of them were one-off akumas, so don't get your panties in a twist, your faves are probably still on here (and ranked lower than you think).

As a preface again, these are just my personal opinions. They can't hurt you. You can still like characters more or less than me. And I don't care how you feel about them. This list is for me. And the person that asked for it. So shut up. Go make your own rank list if you’re so butthurt.

We're going in reverse order this time, starting from the bottom:

84. Gabriel Agreste- I mean, is anyone surprised? I am not private about how I think Gabriel should go to jail. Or fall off a cliff. Or be erased from existence. Rip to those that like him, but I’m different.

83. Thomas Astruc- Honestly, he’s down here on principle. Self-inserts are generally a no-no, and I just laugh every time I see him on screen because he really put himself in this show and said boohoo no one appreciates me XD

82. Bob Roth- I feel like this one should also be obvious. He’s just a dick. Terrible human. I give him 0 stars.

81. Tomoe Tsurugi- We all collectively hate her, right? It’s not just me?

80. Su Han- This mans has small peepee energy. And he bad mouthed Fu, so get FUCKED, my dude.

79. Rolland Dupain- Listen, I get it, he liked Marinette in the end, but I could do without the racism.

78. Nathalie Sancoeur- My opinion of Nathalie took a nosedive after the s2 finale. I just do not care that she is in love with her boss. Don’t care that she’s dying. Just do not have it in me.

76. Nora Cesiare- I didn’t care for Nora. I know Thomas loves her, but the overbearing sibling trope is tired.

75. Anarka Couffaine- I underestimated how much I don’t really like her. Like, it’s not full-on hate, but I just do not care for her.

64. Amelie Graham de Vanily- We haven’t seen much of her, but she seems like a snake bitch.

63. M. Kubdel- I mean, if my son wanted to resurrect an ancient mummy and believed in aliens, I’d give the family heirloom to my daughter too.

62. Jalil Kubdel- Lolol, buddy, pal, dude, my guy. Chill.

61. Vincent (Adrien's photographer)- Head empty. Mom’s spaghetti. Idk he’s alright.

60. Manon- I don’t hate Manon. She just gets on my nerves every time she talks.

59. M. Ramier- This mans got akumatized a billion times because he gets emotional about pigeons. I mean, honestly mood.

58. Mme. Mendeleiev- She doesn’t put up with Chloe’s shit, and we respect her for this.

57. Baby August- Someone just give this mans some food. He’s a growing boy.

52. Other Kwamis- Idk, all the ones we haven’t seen as much. I don’t have real opinions on them yet. Just neutral.

51. Sass- He gives me dad vibes.

50. M. Damocles- You go, you funky owl man

49. Jean (Chloe's Butler)- He deserves a raise. What is your name, sir? We may never know.

48. Mireille Caquet- She’s pretty cute. No complaints.

47. Aurore Beaureal- Baby’s first akuma. I love her design. She’s a cutie.

46. Claudie Kante (Max’s mom)- This womans just wanted to go to space and live her dream. We stan a hardworking queen.

45. Hot Dog Dan- I like him more than Andre the ice cream fraud. Sure, my hotdog might turn me purple, but if I ask for chili on it, I bet he’d oblige.

44. Nadja Chamack- I mean, she’s doing her best.

43. Audrey Bourgeois- So, as I said in the episode ranking, I have a love-hate relationship with Audrey. She’s the worst, but that’s why I love her. I love her ironically. Like, yeah she’s atrocious, but I just want to watch her burn the world.

42. Luka Couffaine- Directly in the middle, like he’s always been.

41. Nathaniel Kurtzberg- My opinion of Nath improved after Reverser surprisingly. I ship it.

40. Chris Lahiffe- I like Chris better than Ella/Etta. He’s just a little mans out here living life wanting to grow up. Don’t believe it, Chris. Stay little forever. Being an adult suuuuucks.

39. Fang the Crocodile- The goodest boy.

38. Nooroo- I just want to give him a hug.

37. Mlle. Bustier- She’s doing her best, but I mean, when ya whole class keeps getting turned into supervillains, I’m surprised she’s not an alcoholic.

36. Penny Rolling- I just like her. I think she’s neat.

35. Ondine- Mermaid queen! She’s so sweet, and I love her with Kim. I hope we see more of her in the future.

34. Marc Anciel- Marc is a little cutie bean. Idc if he’s based off one of Thomas’s irl friends. He can stay.

33. Wayzz- He loves Master Fu so much I cry.

32. Felix Graham de Vanily- I know everyone hates canon Felix, but tbh he exudes massive chaotic neutral gremlin energy, and I actually kinda vibe with that. And he pisses with his uncle which is a whole ass mood.

31. Tikki- Tikki is very cute, but bby please work on the preaching. You don’t always know what’s right, babe.

30. Sabrina Raincomprix- Sabrina deserves better. I hope we see good things happen for her.

29. Lila Rossi- Surprised? I actually like Lila. The first fic I ever wrote for this fandom was a Lila redemption. I think she is a good antagonist and foil to Marinette. I absolutely want to see her get dunked on in canon, but that doesn’t mean I hate her.

28. Wayhem- I don’t know why, but Wayhem makes me laugh. I love him XD

27. Uncle Cheng- He’s just a good mans with a birb who wants to make you tasty food. What’s not to like?

26. Trixx- Trixx shot up after GoS. Chaotic bean make Eiffel Tower go bendy

25. Jess- She’s pretty cool. She’s a vibe.

24. Aeon- The cutest bean!!! She saw Adrien and Marinette and said yep. Those two are meant to be together. Jess, we gotta make it happen.

23. Ivan Bruel- Ivan is such a gentle bean. We love him.

22. Mylene Haprele- Smol

21. Fei Wu- I still have not watched the Shanghai special with subs, but I liked her.

20. Gina Dupain- The grandma I aspire to be.

19. Marianne Lenoir- I love her. She is good. She and Fu are so cute. And she seems like she would have kicked le ass back in the day. (and even now)

18. Rose Lavillant- I am so excited for Pigella!! Rose is too cute. We love her.

17. Gorilla- aka Adrien’s real dad. If the series doesn’t end with Gabriel getting yeeted into the stratosphere and Gorilla adopting Adrien, I don’t want it.

16. Clara Nightingale- She’s in love with Marinette. You can’t change my mind. 16 is also how old I hc her to be, so don’t nobody come for me.

15. Tom Dupain- Most. Supportive. Dad. Soft bean. Just wants to make you fresh bread.

14. Sabine Cheng- Good mom vibes. We love to see her.

13. Juleka Couffaine- Shy goth bean. Just wants to have her picture taken. Definitely a lesbian. We stan.

12. Nino Lahiffe- The goodest boy. He’s just out here doing his best, loving his friends.

11. Chloe Bourgeois- Chloe is another one I have a love-hate relationship with. Her brattiness is funny to me. We had high hopes for her. Honestly, she ranks this high because I like to play with her in fic.

10. Max Kante- He smol and smort. And I adore his friendship with Kim and the fact that he made an AI himself at 14. What a legend.

9. Alya Cesaire- Rip to Alya salters, but I’m different. Outside of Chameleon, Alya is fine. She’s a supportive bff. All yall people that are mad she doesn’t kiss Marinette’s ass all the time need to go out and make real friends. I said what I said.

8. Alix Kubdel- I love Alix. I love how she is always so done with all the lovey-dovey bullshit. She is tiny queen, and Bunnix, while OP af, is still super cool. We love to see her.

7. Kagami Tsurugi- I will fight anyone who shits on Kagami. She has done nothing wrong, you guys are just haters. All she did was exist, and yall said, wow what a toxic bitch?? Disgraceful.

6. Jagged Stone- We are going to ignore the deadbeat dad trope that canon thrust upon him. He is a Marinette stan, and we love that.

5. Kim Le Chien- I really love Kim, you guys. Does that surprise you? Listen, my favorite male character types are sweet beans and himbos. Kim is both of these.

4. Master Fu- If you didn’t pick up on how much I love Fu from the episodes ranking, then idk what to tell you. I want him to be my grandpa. I would trust this mans with my life. He did his best. You paint those pictures, you funky little man. I love you.

3. Plagg- My galaxy trash man. Love him. 10/10 chefs kisses all around.

2. Adrien Agreste- The biggest Marinette stan there is. I just want him to kiss her on the face. And marry her. Idk, I just think that would be neat if he could do that. I just want good things for them.
