I mentioned in my reblog to amtrak-official yesterday that I'm traveling to NYC by train in like 1.5 weeks. Since then, I have fallen asleep and woken up and am now extremely anxious about the trip and have not been able to focus on work at all today. I have not traveled since high school.

(Is anyone following me during that time still active? Do you remember when I was blessed with the chance to visit Europe with my classmates? Fun fact: my trip was partially funded by a scholarship and I worked 30 hours a week to cover the rest and my food on the trip, and I'm unsure how I did that.)

So this is like my first adult trip and it's only me and my SO. So there's like no one to cover for us if something goes wrong. And I can't pack the most "efficiently" because I gotta be careful about my bridesmaid 'dress' (it's actually a jumpsuit yay) and my SO's suit. So like ahhhhhh I'm stressing y'all. I'm super excited about what we have planned, so I gotta focus on that.

But those of you who follow me, do you have any tips for traveling? Or packing? Or does anyone live in the northeast of the USA (or a similar climate) have tips about the weather (or NYC information specifically)?

I'll probs schedule posts for the days I'm traveling so that I won't be missed here. And like I did when I got the chance to visit Europe, I might make a post when I'm done about my travels and what I got to so if anyone seems interested.

Bruce is very much not happy. He’s stuck in an absolutely tiny body, with hands that can barely grip onto anything. Not to mention he’s somewhere completely unfamiliar with way too much sun and his body, what, maybe a year? He can barely even stand. 

Ugh. Next time he’s definitely not jumping between his teammates and an unknown energy beam-thing. 

Now if he could not wobble and trip over what was his outfit but now seems to be a way too big cloak or cape, that would be great. Actually it might be his gear just well, only his cape. First thing is first, finding out where- or even when- the heck he is. 

Danny is honestly blaming Clockwork for everything when he spots a baby that could pass as his baby brother. And he knows he doesn’t have any more clones, seeing as he cleaned out Vlad’s lab himself. So. There’s apparently a tiny very liminal-feeling baby crawling around in what is practically a war zone thanks to the GIW. 

So he could be forgiven for picking the tiny child up as he runs, because if the GIW does another attack or bombing… Yeah, he’d rather the literal infant be in one of the safe zones protected by altered ecto shields, even if there was no clue as to where they came from.

i just made possibly the weirdest 40 dollars of my entire life

so my landlord died recently and his son inherited everything all of a sudden. and there's this huge storage shed out behind my apartment building that the dude's been cleaning out the past few weeks

and i was taking my cat out for a walk and i see him there and we start shootin' the shit. and he's like "yeah, i locked my keys in the shed, don't know what i'm gonna do now. i'm gonna replace the doors soon anyway but i'm not sure how to break in"

and my cat decides it's time to go back inside so i grab my lockpick set and go out there and i tell him i can try to jimmy the lock open, but i'm only experienced with padlocks.

then i realize i probably sound like a criminal. but telling him the real reason i taught myself this (being a d&d nerd and also briefly getting into lockpickinglawyer's videos) sounds fake as FUCK. so i decide i need to make up a lie that sounds more believable than the truth. tell him my dad had really bad adhd and lost his keys to the barn a lot (that is true) and that he taught himself how to pick locks to let himself in and passed that down to me (that is false)

so i start picking the lock and it takes a few tries. i've only practiced on one lock so it's hard to get a feel for a new one, especially a (mildly rusty) door lock like that. but i eventually get it and we get the door to open.

and he starts thanking me a ton and telling me how cool it is that i could do that. and i just accept the praise, feeling glad that i got to make someone's day better. and then he hands me 40 bucks because "a locksmith would've charged me way more than that, and probably not been able to come til tomorrow"

I think a very important distinction to be made between Spy x Family and Buddy Daddies (that can also hopefully stop ppl from comparing them in bad faith) is that Kazuki and Rei are supposed to be messy and somewhat incompetent. They have very specific skills but they are mostly just fuck it we balling all situations all the time. Kazuki’s plans are stablished to constantly fall apart and Rei is shown to be impulsive and willing to jump straight into the danger when the plans fail. They are not supposed to be as competent as Loid and Yor - not at their jobs and not at raising a kid. They go about it in fundamentally different ways in both shows and if you go in expecting them to be carbon copies of each other you will be disappointed and for stupidly unfair reasons too

To put it simply - they are different shows and their character dynamics are fundamentally different

Holy cow there’re a lot and I really do mean A LOT of Welcome Home AUs, and more coming too. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but it makes sense considering WH doesn’t have a lot to work with so it leaves tons of room for fans to play around with. some headcanons i have while drawing him are semi obvious while others are bc i like it ahehahhaheha

cupid's bow lips! this was semi inspired by Mizuki Umetsu, the actor for Noritoshi in the jjk stage play! hes so. pretty. perfect guy for the role imo! i was captivated therefore my views changed.

longer hair! the thought that his bangs(? are the same length, or longer, as the rest of his hair is nice.. it also makes his inevitable haircut much more refreshing! i also just like long hair and its a fucking waste not to do whatever the i want.

thicker brows and visible eyelashes! i naturally draw thicker eyebrows because it looks pretty, but the eyelashes is so fucking canon bro. dont even fight me on this, you'll lose. i read a fic about Noritoshi where it said he took good care of himself and his appearance inspired jealousy. that fucked me up man, so now i draw him as beautiful as i can.

monolids! I've looked through the manga and i think its highly implied that Noritoshi has monolids? yk those lines in between the eye and eyebrow, he doesnt have them in the manga. i thought it was because of the expressions he had, but no. the others have them, except geto! so geto also having monolids is so fr in my head. i like that feature abt him.

loose hairs! the hairs that i draw on his face. they make him look so cute and a bit more relaxed. he's not trying to be perfect nor have a single strand out of place. he's just a bit more at ease... though if there's something important he has to go through, he sharpens up. becomes.. stiffer?

Thinking about the understated horror of the elves in Dungeon Meshi:

We meet Marcielle and she's our best lesbian failgirl, elves are alright. But then we don't see any more elves. For a long while. When we do hear about them, they're like boogeymen.

The elves started at least two calamitous wars with the the dwarves and the gnomes. Elves will straight up kidnap people who they think are doing something wrong. Elves do not account for other races' lifespans in their carceral system and they treat it as a fun little oversight.

And when we learn about Kabru's past and realize he wasn't adopted like a human child, he was adopted like an exotic pet. And his mom tried repeatedly to kill him in order to "train" him after he expressed his desire to leave her when he was old enough.

Then the elves arrive at the dungeon and they don't care about anyone else. I don't think this is just a result of them being Canaries, similar sentiments are expressed by the Queen when she's talking to the group on the island. Other people do not matter to them. And this is a direct consequence of how long they live.

#dunmeshi elves are far closer to the fae than a lot of other elves and I like it tbh #but they're also horrifying #the story repeatedly goes to great lengths to show why living for hella long is bad actually #and it's encapsulated in elf characters! #dungeon meshi
