As someone who also has interacting with people as a special interest in the same way that Kabru does, I think his character is so important for autistic representation.

1) just point blank we need more autistic BIPOC in popular media.

But 2) it took so long for me to realize I was autistic because there is just no representation of autistic people who not only like being social, they’re GOOD at being social, like charisma is a genuine skill they have and rely regularly on.

And 3) idk how phrase this exactly but Kabru had what a lot of people would code as “girl” autism. Meaning he’s representation of a kind of unique thing I’ve seen from others in the neurodivergent community who are gender non-conforming in large part because of the ways they are neurodivergent. This is true of me too, I have “boy” ADHD and my brother had “girl” ADHD and we were bullied for this gender nonconformity despite the fact that my brother is completely cishet.

So like, yeah, the story centering women and a wlw love story, Fallin being consistently shown as attractive for her neurodiversity not in spite of it, Laois thriving and being the hero in a way no one else can because of his autism not in spite of it, these are all really really important to focus on in the fandom! I agree as an autistic sapphic myself!

However I hope no one is brushing away Kabru fans because he’s unique and really important!

Hopping on the color temperature discourse train to say that I love the mental image of like— reversing the association of red and blue and having blue represent summer temps— thinking of summer blue skies and the ocean. Red for winter temps bringing to mind cheeks red with cold and holly berries and cardinal feathers. Idk I just think that’s neat!

i, too, think it's neat!!! I also just like the idea of-- specifically on the topic planning of Temperature Blanket™ palettes-- not being so literal with "cold" colors and "hot" colors. if you CAN get creative with it, I think it's boring NOT to. It's a year long project, so it needs to be interesting. as an aside, I also like the idea of leaving color palettes behind entirely, and doing a very straightforward gradient scheme as your temperature gauge. Like buying yarns like this that are already dyed into a gradient, and just being like "ok. done."

just pick which end of the spectrum is High temps and which one is Low temps, and get cracking. It doesn't have to be symbolic of the Season the temperatures would occur in at all.

Been thinking about applying the myth where Thor has to pretend to be a giants bride to get his hammer back (you know the one, right??) to the TBI characters. Doubt I'll write it out but I have SO MANY THOUGHTS ON IT. My main thought atm being that, from what I remember, Heimdall was the first person to suggest Thor cross dress. Which is just. The excuse to right out Heimdall's involvement is almost as enticing as getting to write out Tyr. He's just. So silly to me. But so badass. I love him.

I can see everyone in the TBI setting at some grand meeting table for the Aesir (and co.) with Thor freaking out about his poor hammer (which, yes seems tricky to write in TBI context but. We'll just patch that plothole it with something later, I have a loose thread idea or two.), Freya desperately trying to avoid involvement in the entire debacle, Loki concerned but still trying not to giggle at the absurdity while Sigyn kicks her under the table to tell her to stop laughing. Heimdall leans over the table towards Thor, trying to remain stoic but his small smirk and gold eyes glittering with Loki approved mischief somewhat gives him away as he suggests, "If we don't want to risk our dear stunning lady here, and you need your hammer back, why don't you be Freya?"

Loki loses it laughing and most of the table can't help but laugh or giggle quietly, including Sigyn. Thor is immediately against the idea, but Loki is already signing up to be his handmaiden in between gasps of giggles (because she would never miss out on such good mischief), and really the idea is such a hit that Thor is sorely outvoted.

The story is still brought up for years to come, typically for a laugh at Thor's expensive. Still no one could deny he looked damn good in that dress.
