Heaven forbid. They will avoid it at all costs. It’s “not in the budget.” Although the money is going somewhere…🤔
Pats on the back will have to suffice.

when i talk about a livable wage i don't just mean being able to pay your bills. i also mean having access to excellent health care, buying a decent car that won't give you constant issues, treating yourself to a nice meal every now and again without feeling guilty, being able to support real artists rather than buying something mass-produced, going on vacation domestically AND internationally, purchasing high-quality clothes that won't break the bank, and donating to organizations/causes that are important to you. THAT is a livable wage.

Nooooo if I pay my employees a livable wage, I might not be able to spend $165 million on houses and property 😟😨

is it wrong of me to lean more towards the thinking of "make the rich pay better wages to their employees including the janitors and so called low level employees" rather than focussing on "tax the rich"? because the rich are this wrong level of rich since one of the things they're doing is stealing wages and calling them profits. so wouldn't it be better to first get the workers their proper due? so that they don't have to struggle between paying rent, grocery bills and saving up? what do you all think? this is an honest question and it is not motivated by either sympathy for the rich or an "eat the rich" mentality. i truly want people to be paid better and for jobs to be less stressful or at least worth the effort.

This is a reminder to make your managers and CEOs for wherever you work uncomfortable.
So I got a job offer for a different company doing the same thing I do at my current company but for a higher pay rate. Of course I applied because I can barely make a living with my current pay rate. After applying and pretty much was told I'd have the job I decided to talk to my manager about it. I was either going to turn in a two week notice since I could start the other job in two weeks or I'd get a raise. I told them how much they offered me and asked if they could pay match. Cause that's what competitive pay is right?
Long story short, not only did I get the pay raise, but my manager actually checked in on my work quality and says I'm now a candidate for a promotion within the company.
MAKE YOUR MANAGERS UNCOMFORTABLE!!
ASK FOR THAT RAISE!!

do y'all understand how frickin' wild it is that, while scrolling on any given social media platform, you're gonna see posts of people asking for donations because they can't afford rent/groceries/medical bills/clothes/basic necessities? and it's not just one post, it's dozens. I'll get several in a row, sometimes. and you want to donate, but you can't donate to them all because you yourself can hardly afford to get by.
do y'all realize how insane that is?
that americans living in the richest country in the world have to crowdfund their weekly grocery trip, but they might not make their goal because literally no one can afford to buy groceries.
that over 50% of americans live paycheck to paycheck.
that i can bet you that homelessness is getting to an all-time high, but i couldn't actually tell you because HUD doesn't record numbers correctly.
that federal minimum wage is $7.25/hr and has been since 2009.
that in 2024, a living wage for a single adult with no children is $34,923. for an adult with two children, it's $93,579. the hourly breakdown is: $16.79 and $44.99, respectively. the average (median) american receives $21,840/yr or $10.50/hr. (calculations from data found here.)
don't just read this and go "wow that's crazy." sit with this shit and realize that we are being played with in our fucking faces, and what are we going to do about it?

Y’all will go around talking about how fucked up American tipping culture is and take it out on the working class by not tipping them when you come here.
Like baby all you did was guarantee this person only made $2.15 while serving your rude ass table for two hours.
