Does anyone else really love the lyrics in London Town? Like I am always surprised when I hear that song how good they are.
“People pass me by on my imaginary street
Ordinary people it’s impossible to meet
Holding conversations that are always incomplete
Well I don’t know”

Blogmas: A perfect night out in London 💕
Hi guys,
Last night was girls night and we decided to go to Skate West End. If you've never heard of it, it's a skate rink with a bar in the middle in Oxford Street. It's the perfect place to have some festive fun. Personally I don't ice skate so me and some of the girls decided to sit in the bar in the middle of the rink while the others went by on their skates.
When you go to Skate West End it's free entry to the bar, all you have to do is pay for your drink which honestly I expected there to be a entrance fee. Obviously you pay to skate the rink but all the money raised from the rink goes to charity so not only are you having fun but it's for a great cause too. The rink itself is stunning, the lights look gorgeous and the staff were so friendly and just up for a laugh and a good time.
It was honestly such a great experience and it even gave me the perfect excuse to wear my Faux Fur coat from John Lewis too which I now totally understand why people love coats like this. I used to hate faux fur coats because they didn't suit me but I found a gorgeous short box style one and now I can't be without it.
If you're looking to have some festive fun but don't want to go to Winter Wonderland here is the link to book tickets to skate in the rink. LINK TO BOOK SKATING.
As always all products / places mentioned are linked above.
Lot's of love

Café on the Left Bank
I was listening late last night* to the copy of London Town that I found recently, and I was wondering about the song 'Café on the Left Bank', specifically the words
Tiny crowd of Frenchmen round a TV shop
Watching Charles de Gaulle make a speech
It's such a precise image that it had to be based on a memory. I searched for speeches made by General de Gaulle in October 1961, when John and Paul were in Paris celebrating John's twenty-first. Sure enough, on the 2nd October 1961, the first day of the autumn session of the French parliament, he made an important address to the French people.
This is probably only of interest to other sleep-deprived weirdos, but here is a French newsreel reporting the speech that they must have seen broadcast in a TV shop window.
L'allocution du Général de Gaulle, Chef de l'Etat le 2 Octobre 1961
The speech addresses the Franco-Algerian war, which was drawing to a close (although only a couple of weeks after their visit there would be a massacre of Algerians in Paris).
*that is to say, at about 3.15AM.
