Ruby paused as she found herself in an empty bed, her head still spun from the night before. The room itself seemed untouched for years, not empty, though abandoned seemed to be the right word. Dust lined the window and the knick knacks on the shelves, though the bed and floor had clearly been cleaned and used recently. She slowly sat up and quietly got off the bed, making sure not to make a sound as she made it to the doorway. The smell of eggs, beans, and toast wafted through the air as the door creaked open.

“About time you woke up,” Blake said.

Ruby jumped a bit as she heard Blake’s voice, not having noticed her sitting on the banister railing. “Where are we?”

“Brunswick Farms.” Blake hopped down and smiled at Ruby. “Sorry about the way we had to get you here, but we wanted to make sure you couldnt… fight back.”

“So drugging me was your go to method?”

“It was either that or knocking you out in a fight. Drugging felt like the safest option.”

“You may have a point.” Ruby sighed and closed the bedroom door and started to make her way downstairs. As if to prove Blake’s point that they hadnt been here long but long enough to make sure the farmhouse was cleaned. The smell of breakfast had started to grow stronger as she made her way to the kitchen, still cautious. “Though, I dont think I understand why you wanted me here.”

“Because we needed to talk to you alone.” Blake hopped over the railing and used her semblance to land without a sound, her shadow clone disappearing as it hit the floor. “And to offer you a deal.”

“A deal? What kind of deal?”

“To help us take down the SDC once and for all,” Weiss answered as she walked out of the kitchen with a plate of eggs and beans on toast for Ruby. “Hope you dont mind beans for breakfast. Its one of the few things they still have here that doesnt go bad. Put enough salt or hot sauce on it and it’ll taste edible enough.”

“Thank you…” Ruby gently took the plate and watched Weiss and Blake carefully. “What do you want with me?”

“I’m sure you can figure out what we want, after all, you have stopped us multiple times.” Weiss pulled her mask out of her bag and sighed. “Though, I guess we cant say that’s been difficult.”

Ruby paused and took a step back and dropped her plate. “You’re the girl in the computerized mask.” She then turned to look at Blake, her hand instinctively reaching for the scythe that wasnt there. “And… you lead the White Fang.”

“I’m more like a lieutenant than the leader, but that’s all semantics.” Blake sighed and sat down. “I know meeting us under these circumstances arent the best, but we just want to talk.”

“You drugged me!”

“Because we didnt have a choice!” Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose and took a breath to calm her nerves. “Its not like you’d just sit down with us once you know who we were.”

Ruby slowly sat down. “Then… what exactly is it that you want? I figured you’d want to kill me.”

“We… have a proposition for you.” Blake put herself between Weiss and Ruby, her ears twitched as she kept an ear out on both of them. “We know you work for the SDC, but we think you may be better off helping us take them down once and for all.”

“But… you’re both criminals.”

Blake sighed. “Only because that’s how society wants to see us…”

Weiss moved out from behind Blake and a little closer to Ruby. “The White Fang is tired of getting pushed around by the SDC and Atlas’ willingness to overlook the injustices they go through. And while bringing the SDC down wont stop it, it’ll at least bring the slave labor for the mines to a halt.”

Ruby paused for a moment. “And…. what exactly do you get out of it?”

“If everything goes well, I will put my father in his place.”

“I’m sorry but I cant-” Ruby winced as she felt a needle press into her neck and her body started to go numb, the muscles tensing up and then relaxing rapidly as she once again started to lose consciousness, Blakes and Weiss’s voices had started to distort in her ears.

“Weiss! What was that for?!”

Weiss moved to Ruby and stuck an earpiece to her ear with a smile. “She wasnt going to agree to help us, so I’m going to make sure she does.”

Blake frowned, her hand clenching into a tight fist. “This wasnt the plan.”

“And letting her go after asking her for help wasnt going to work either.” Weiss pulled away from Ruby and started to make her way to the kitchen. “In a few hours, she’ll start seeing things our way. And then, we can make her ours just like we wanted.”

Blake growled and hit the wall in frustration to release her anger. Her growl turned into a soft sigh as she looked over at Ruby, guilt starting to wash over her. “This… isnt how I wanted her to be ours…”

I love Raph and haven’t said that enough so to be more specific I love that Raph is a soft boy who loves bear plushies, a gross boy who eats an assortment of things that are definitely better left alone, a smart boy who is more than capable of taking down villains through planning and fortitude alike, a strong boy who is dedicated to training his muscles and fighting prowess, a teenage boy who loves his brothers but is more than happy to tease and roughhouse with them, an angry boy who sometimes lets his anger take a hold of him to cover the fear, a gentle boy who is generous with hugs and affirmations to those he loves, a capable boy who takes on more than should ever be expected of a teenager, a good boy who just wants to be a hero and slowly comes to realize the cost of that duty, a good boy who has no reservations about putting himself in the way of harm coming to his family, a good boy who’s a great brother and son and person and deserves only the best the world has to offer.

Say, Applin! (A snapshot before disaster)

I was going to practise lineless art, but the lineart came so well that I gave up and proceeded in this style. The picture is set during the Teal Mask with Kieran and Flore (MC) after they found the first signpost in Loyalty Plaza. Kieran showed Flore the orchard down the hill. Even though Flore had already explored it, they didn't mention it.

Flore asked Kieran if they could photograph him with his Applin. Kieran definitely thought Flore was weird when they requested him to do this silly pose. But he still did it - admiring Flore too much to deny them. Applin was very pleased.

(Flore kept the picture and stared at it often. Wondering where things went wrong when they went back home and what they could have done better. In the present time - after the DLC episode - Kieran is unaware they kept the photo and would die from mortification if he found out about it or ever saw it)

Also, the symbolism of Kieran holding up his hands to mimic Applin's eyes but also imitating the ogre's horns of Oni Mountain, which do not line up symbolising that he admires but does not understand Ogrepon, is entirely intentional and totally not something that happened accidentally as I was painting the background. I swear /lying/.

Also, the size being perfect for a phone background was an accident, too, but a happy one.

(Flore is Julliana and Florian combined, btw. A sort of Non-binary option of the player character)

Okay but that Masked Villains AU sounds fun and interesting. What’s it like for Ruby having to deal with both enemies?

Ruby rolled her eyes and slammed a mallet down onto a mechanical mole. “I dont need your help to calm down, I’m doing just fine on my own.”

“And on your own, you mean abusing this poor whack-a-mole machine?” Yang asked.

Ruby paused and lowered the mallet with a sigh. “Okay, maybe they’re getting a little on my nerves.”

“A little? Rubes, you havent had a good night’s sleep in months.And when was the last time you quit stressing about the White Fang?”

“Because nothing they’re doing makes sense! Well… not entirely… I mean, I understand the trains. Those are run by the SDC so hijacking and derailing them is not too far out of what would hurt the SDC, but what I dont understand is why rob dust stores? They’ve been hijacking trains and other shipments, why go out of the way to steal from dust shops that arent supplied by the SDC? It does nothing for them.”

“Maybe they’ve finally had enough from all of us.”

Ruby sighed and put the mallet down as the machine read “Game Over” on the display. “It feels counter intuitive to me. Sure, its not perfect yet, but Vale and Vacuo have been making strides to make things better for everyone. It wont take long before Atlas and Mistral are pressured to do the same.”

“And its probably not happening quickly enough.” Yang picked up the mallet and started to hit each mole that popped up, her eyes fixated on the pattern as her mechanical arm gripped the side of the machine to keep her balance. “What about the other girl? The one with the computerized mask?”

“She seems to have the same goals as the White Fang, but I’m not sure what she’s doing.” Ruby leaned against a light pole and looked up at the ferris wheel that overlooked the fairgrounds. “Though, I’m not actually sure what she’s after. She’s never talked, only ever attacked dust shipments by train, but she doesnt seem to do anything more. The crews and Atlas drones are left intact, no dust is ever moved away, its almost as if she’s just trying to cause an inconvenience.”

“Maybe its time you quit working for the SDC and start teaching like I am. Sure its a boring life, but then you dont have to worry about all of this.”

“I cant… not until I figure out what’s going on.”

Yang placed the mallet down and collected the tickets that started to spew from the machine. “And what if there isnt anything to figure out? What if it’s just as simple as the White Fang growing bolder because they know they can get away with it? Or what if that girl is just messing with you?”

“Then maybe I need to figure it out on my own.”

“And maybe you’re just a little insane.”

Ruby pinched the bridge of her nose and started to walk off. “Maybe its time I go home.”

“And miss out on the fun? Your loss.”

Ruby shook her head and wandered around the fairgrounds as she lost herself in thought. All she wanted was for everything to make sense. The White Fang, the girl with the computerized mask, the grimm that seemed to follow commands and orders… none of it was making any more sense than when Ozpin tried to explain everything to her before.

“Seems like Mistral went all out this year for the Vytal Festival.”

Ruby was pulled out of her thoughts as she heard the voice of a cat faunus standing next to her. With a smile, she nodded. “If only they’d do the same with anything else they do.”

“Isnt that the truth.” The cat faunus smiled with piercing amber eyes. “I’m Blake. And you are?”

“Ruby.”

“What are you doing all alone out here? Figured someone like you would have someone to be with.”

“I’m not alone. Well… not entirely. My sister’s around here somewhere, I… needed a bit of time to think about a few things. I’ll join her again soon.”

Blake smiled and offered a hand to Ruby. “Well, would you mind if I join you?”

“I’m not so sure I’m that much fun-”

“You dont need to be.”

Ruby turned around to find another woman behind her who walked over to the pair. “And you are?”

“Weiss Schnee, disowned heiress.”

“More like an ex-heiress,” Blake retorted. “And unfortunately, she’s why I’m here tonight.”

Ruby looked confused as she watched the two. “I figured a faunus would stay away from a Schnee.”

Weiss grinned and pulled Ruby in close as she whispered to her. “Not unless we both have a goal in mind.”

Ruby didnt have any time to try to ask what Weiss meant until she was pulled into a kiss. Her legs started to give out as her head swirled in bliss from the soft, drugged lips that pressed up against her own.

Once she was sure Ruby was out, she pulled away and wiped the lipstick off and awkwardly held Ruby. ��Mind helping me?”

“You could’ve waited until we got her out of the fairgrounds like we originally planned.” Blake picked up Ruby and put her over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes. “And where exactly are we supposed to take her now?”

Weiss smirked and started to walk off. “Brunswick Farm. Its not far from here and nobody will think about looking for her there. Which means we’ll have plenty of time to… persuade her to see our reason.”

Blake sighed and followed close behind Weiss. “You better be sure about this…”

Imagine you're having a Disneyland/Disney World day on your own, wandering the Streets and eating yummy themed snacks, perusing the merchandise shops, meeting some characters; just taking your time, having a great day already... until a Disney Villain face character approaches you, wondering where your group is?? You know how y'all are into the whole Pecharunt possession over Kieran thing? Well, I have one enlightening thought.

What if Pecharunt possessed Juliana instead as an AU?

Like at the end of the Teal Mask and before to Indigo Disk, Juliana was in shambles over betraying Kieran for simply lying to him because she was told to do so and regretted not telling him and having a crush on him which makes her feel worse and going as far as hating herself for being silent about it.

At her vulnerable moment, Pecharunt possessed her and basically made her convinced that being nice(befriending a shy gentle boy who never had a friend before) and obedient(being told to not tell Kieran out of safety but look what happened) is what got her in trouble and she should forget about it if she wanted to ruin herself and others around her more. She should focus on being more stronger, not rely on anyone and not let herself be distracted anymore.

And that led to Juliana undergo a change. From being a friendly and caring person who battles for fun to a very cold person who pushes away her friends out of underlying fear to not hurt anyone anymore and focuses on being a better battler than she already is. She no longer battles for fun; she battles and trains to get stronger and push herself hard to be better and perfect and not get attached anymore and not to be distracted.

It gets to the point that even Kieran, who at the time is obsessed with getting stronger in order to simply beat Juliana, to notice something isn't right with Juliana and her habits aren't healthy(that's saying something coming from him who doesn't get enough sleep and trains nonstop) and slowly grew concerned with her as his feelings for her resurfaced.

His concerns grew even more when Ogerpon, the pokemon who chose Juliana over him, and the friendly Raidon(Juliana had switched for the aggressive one) goes to him for help them snap Juliana out and get Pecharunt's control off of her.

Kieran sees Juliana as the hero and possibly himself being the villain. But now it became the hero turned villain and the villain becomes the anti-hero situation.

I dunno, this idea got me thinking hard and the possibilities here!
