Has an abusive dad who was also a supervillain and that led to her becoming a superhero to spoil his plans but she focused a lot on helping out other less fortunate people in addition to fighting crime

Was willing to kill at 14,including her own dad and only changed that because Bruce Wayne convinced her too

Loved Cassandra Cain romantically in a gritty dark future Batman run,has been Batwoman in two which is a mantle that has been held exclusively by a Kate Kane who is a butch lesbian and has shown multiple hints of being bi in the main timelines

Yelled and screamed at and even assaulted grown ass adults in her teen years for treating her badly with no fear and this stays into her adulthood

Grew up to be a Team Mom by at least her Batgirl days and the targets of her mothering were a biracial boy(Damian Wayne),two darkskin black girls(Nell Little and Tiffany Fox),a japanese girl(Maps Mizoguchi)and MANY other unnamed kids we see her being implied to care for

Presents super femininely but in a way that most guys in-universe find bad instead of attractive and she dosen't care about this because she dosen't want normies

Uses optimism for a better world and trauma fueled spite as her motivation for heroism

Got treated like shit by almost everyone as a kid but we see this explicitly in her hero days with how much Bruce puts her down because she wasn't good enough for him

Does activism even outside of hero work

Is canonically pastel punk and accidentally autistic-coded and genuinely a real weirdgirl,not a fucking 'basic white girl' or a queen bee just because she's blonde and blue eyed and it's worth noting she's also been described as flat-chested as a jab but it not working because she loves her looks perfectly and that she's never shown any particular liking for being blonde and seeing as she got her hair from her dad,this is completely valid

She's Stephanie Brown,not Stacie White.Stop.Making.Her.Only.Trait.Her.Gender.Babygirl deserves better

The Guardian-Prelude Paul Lahote x mermaid!reader

Summary: They call her the guardian. She roams the sea; protecting humans, supernaturals, and creatures alike. As a mermaid, she is sworn to protect the sea first, everything else is secondary. That is until she meets a particular brown-furred wolf. Together, they work to stop the invasion of the Volturi and any other unwanted human-hunting cold ones, while simultaneously learning how to merge the world of the land and sea. This is their story.

Prelude

A school of fish part like the red sea, as a significant, almost human-like mass speeds past them. All that can be seen is a glance of them whipping their tail in a controlled frenzy. Odette is trying her best to reach an unconscious, probably drunk, trespasser from Forks. She can hear his friends laughing and splashing around near the shallow water, oblivious to the fact that their friend is drowning. Don’t they know not to swim drunk at night? Odette is able to grab the unconscious man under his arms and drag him to a shallow area covered by driftwood and rocks.

Holding her breath, Odette’s hand dances back and forth over the man’s mouth. Miraculously a blob of water collects, coming out of his throat and lungs. As he spews water, heaving trying to catch his first breath in what felt like hours, Odette turns him on his left side so he doesn’t choke on his own spit. She wiggles back into the ocean, just enough to allow her to float comfortably in the water. Her eyes focused on the unmoving body, waiting for him to awaken. While waiting, the moon casts just enough light on Y/n’s face to display the sheer disgust she has for humans who have disregard for their precious and fragile life.

To alert his other drunk friends, Odette whips her tail hard against the water, making a loud crack that breaks over the crashing of the waves. Just as the friends are startled by the sound and go searching, the man jolts up, blinking furiously to rid the salt water from his eyes. By the time the water is rid from his eyes and he is able to focus them clearly, he is only able to catch the ripple of the water before he fades back out of consciousness. He could have sworn he saw something in the water that night.

It is later said that his friends found him shortly after and that sobered them up real quick. He will make a speedy recovery and pay a small fine for trespassing and swimming after hours. Later, everyone attributes his survival to the guardian, a legend to those in the surrounding area.
