Fuck It Friday - S4 Interstitial Outtake

tagged @jesuisici33 (thank you!), and for @rmd-writes because she asked for the full AU version of TK and Carlos going up to New York for Passover in S4 (this was written before the episode where they discussed children, and then cut after because it got Joss'd for so many reasons). I think there's a small bit of dialogue at the end about missing Gwyn that still got rescued and reused in the posted story, albeit in a different place (and this is why I never delete anything and have hundreds of pages of cut material).

Tagging anyone else who has outtakes they want to share. Outtakes are the best part of the after movie experience.

Carlos has no baseline for what to expect from either New York, or from a Passover seder.  He's seen New York in movies and TV shows obviously, and he's learned it more intimately from the stories that Owen and TK tell.  They're not staying for that long on this trip, and they're going to a seder on Saturday and Easter lunch with Enzo's family on Sunday, but TK promises that he's taking him into real New York before they leave. 

Enzo makes a face at TK.  "Queens is real New York."

TK snags a piece of grape from Jonah's plate.  "Debatable."

Enzo rolls his eyes, but he's smiling.  "Snob." 

TK shrugs and doesn't disagree, just leans in to whisper to Jonah.  'We'll take you with us, you're never too young for dim sum."

Carlos has even less idea what to expect from a seder.  He's read about it, but that's abstract.  They're going to a seder at friends of Gwyn and Enzo's, a family TK has known since childhood.  He'd made a complicated face when Enzo had told them a few weeks ago, and said with trepidation.  "Is Miriam going to be there?"

Enzo had laughed so hard down the phone that he'd dropped it.  "She hasn't had a crush on you since she was 15, TK.  I think you're safe."

"You're not the one she tried to hit on every holiday," TK says sourly.

Carlos does his best to keep a straight face.  "How old were you?"

"A year older than her."  TK grins suddenly.  "To be fair, I'm pretty sure I spent a lot of time at holiday dinners trying to awkwardly hit on her older brother, so you know."

"You did," Enzo says dryly.  "Every adult in the room suffered from schadenfreude watching the three of you."

The seder is lovely, long, although not as long as he'd been vaguely worried it would be from some of the blogs he'd read online, and as far as he can tell MIriam doesn’t try and hit on anyone except her wife.  He doesn't understand half of what's happening, but he nods at the right times, and takes the things that are handed to him, and piles his plate when they finally eat.  Mostly he watches TK and Jonah, and soaks in how alike they look, and how natural TK looks holding Jonah in his lap when he falls asleep halfway through the seder.  He has the same double vision he’d had at Hanukkah, of TK now with Jonah, and TK in the future sitting at a table with their children leading them through these same traditions.

Everyone tells stories about Gwen, and some about TK when he was younger, which make TK's cheeks burn red and bury his face in his hands.  "You are not allowed to tell anyone at home any of this," he hisses at Carlos when the conversation ebbs at one point.

He grins and crosses his fingers and nods. "Absolutely."

TK narrows his eyes at him.  "Just remember I talk to your sisters."

He nods seriously and then turns to Mrs. Fereira, “What was that you were saying about the play TK was in?” and dodges the pinch to his leg from TK.

Enzo vetoes making Jonah sit through two long religious events in two days, and they skip Easter mass on Sunday, but they do go out to Long Island for Easter lunch.  He thinks Enzo might have preferred to skip that too, let Jonah nap rather than get overtired and overstimulated two days in a row, but apparently his mother was willing to let them skip mass, but lunch was non-negotiable.

Enzo looks at Carlos as they pull up to the house and says, "I apologize in advance for literally everything."

TK snorts and reaches for Carlos's hand.  "I'm calling this payback for that first lunch at Tia Lucy's."  Carlos considers that, and decides that's probably fair.

He gives up trying to remember anyone’s names or relationships about three people in.  At some point he gets handed a plate piled with so much food that he thinks he’s not going to need to eat for a week after they leave. The woman sitting next to him snorts at the look on his face and volunteers her name, if not her place in the extended family, although he thinks she’s one of Enzo’s nieces.  “I’m Emma.  Sorry about the family.”

He smiles and takes a bite of the lamb and wonders who made it and if he can get the recipe.  “Don’t worry.  My family is a lot like this too.”  It explains a lot about how easily TK had weathered that first lunch at Tia Lucy’s if he’s got this kind of experience under his belt.

She gives him an evaluating look, decides he’s telling the truth and says, “Well, in that case I guess apologies for taking you away from your family on Easter.” 

He eyes the way TK has been suborned into a game of snakes and ladders by a group of kids, and the way Enzo’s alternately watching TK lose to a bunch of seven year olds, and keeping an eye on where Jonah’s trying to pet an elderly long suffering cat.  “You’re not.”

She gives him a sharp look and then nods with satisfaction and offers.  “Nonna practically adopted TK, you should probably expect an interrogation at some point.”

He tips his fork to her.  “Thanks for the warning.”

She shrugs. “He looks happier than I think I’ve ever seen him, and Enzo likes you, so you’ll probably do just fine.”

He doesn’t get interrogated by Nonna Luisa exactly, but she does ask for a rundown of his family, and job, and prospects and then starts telling him stories about a younger TK, and Enzo, and Gwen, and he thinks that means he passed.  TK seems to soak up the stories, even as Carlos can see how they weigh on him.  He nudges his thigh next to TK, letting him borrow whatever strength he needs.  TK reaches for his hand, thumb against his pulse point and draws him into the story that Enzo's sister is telling about the time Gwen tried to make lasagna.

"Wait," he says, "I didn't think your mother cooked."

Enzo's sister snorts at the same time TK does.  "She really really didn't," TK confirms.

Enzo's sister's laughs so hard as she repeats the sequence of phone calls from Gwen that half the story gets lost, and Enzo comes over to investigate what's going on.

His mouth twists in a rueful grin when he hears.  "She wouldn't even let me see what she'd made when I got home, took the trash out before I got there, and ordered Ethiopian from a place down the street.  She said she loved me, but she was never doing that again and if that was a deal breaker I should pack my bags and leave now, like she somehow thought that I had missed that the two of you lived on take out, and whatever your babysitter made you in the afternoons."

TK grins, and it's only a little melancholy.  "You spoiled us both when you moved in."

Enzo reaches out to ruffle his hair.  "Well, I had to bribe you with something to let me stay."

Enzo has classes on Monday, but they're not leaving until Tuesday morning, and they take the time to go out to Gwen's grave.  They take Jonah with them, and Carlos keeps an eye on him as he toddles around the cemetery while TK folds himself down next to the temporary marker.  The unveiling will be in late July, and Carlos has already put in for vacation time to come up for it.

He takes a few steps away to give TK privacy to talk to Gwyn, and crouches to take the stick that Jonah solemnly hands him.  He turns at TK's voice, raised just loud enough to carry.

"Hey, Jonah, come say hi to Mom."

He takes Jonah's hand to help guide him over to the grave, and then lets TK settle Jonah on his lap.  Jonah squirms a little, and doesn't really understand what they're doing here, but he catches enough of TK's mood to settle for long enough to obediently say hello to Gwyn and Carlos feels his heart clench when Jonah offers TK a small rock he has clenched in his fist.  He can see the tears on TK's lashes, but his voice is somehow steady when he tells Jonah, "That's perfect, honey.  Do you want to put it on her grave?"

Jonah looks a little dubious, but puts it on the marker and then looks at TK for approval.  TK kisses the top of his head.  "It's a way for us to remember her," he explains to Jonah.  He scrubs surreptitiously at his eyes and pushes himself up.  He looks at Carlos.  "You want to talk to her?"

He nods, and squeezes TK's hand as TK stoops to pick Jonah up and walks a little bit away for them to look at the buds on the fruit tree nearby.  He sits on the ground in front of the grave, in the same place TK had.  He's never really done this before, never really had anyone that close to him who's died.  He feels a little awkward, but, "Hi Gwyn.  Your son asked me to marry him, and it was the best day of my life.  I know I screwed it up a little after that, but he's got more patience than most people give him credit for, and he's got so much patience with me even when I don't think I deserve it."  He puts a hand on the ground.  "I promise you, I am going to love him for the rest of my life, and I am going to try every single day to make him happy."  His voice catches in his throat.  "I wish you could be there, to dance at our wedding, and tell me you told me so, and make him laugh.  But, even if you aren't there in person, I know that you will be there in TK, and in Jonah, and in the memory of every person you met and loved, and through me for him.  And, I am so grateful for that.  I don't think I have words for how grateful I am for him, and that you trusted me with him.  I won't let you down, I promise.."

When he looks up, TK's watching him with a small tired smile.  They go to lunch afterwards at the tiny dim sum shop on Spring Street, and they cut up a dumpling into little pieces and let Jonah gum at them.  The owner remembers TK, and looks sincerely upset when he tells her that Gwyn passed, and brings them out a plate of bao they hadn't ordered, and when TK says thank you Carlos can hear the tears in his voice.  "They were her favorite," TK says when they're alone.  "I can't believe she remembered that."

When Carlos suggests they just go home after lunch TK only makes a token objection.  "I was going to show you Manhattan." 

He nudges TK towards the subway, and hopes he's remembered the right one.  "We'll be up here a lot more times, you have years to show me New York.  Right now I think we all need naps, and he nods at Jonah who's already conked out in his stroller.

TK's mouth twists with amusement.  "I think I envy him a little."

They're playing blocks with Jonah when Enzo gets home that afternoon, and he makes a face as he sits down on the carpet with them.  "I am too old for this."  He points a finger at them, "Let this be a lesson, have your children when you're young.  Or," he reaches out to cup the back of TK's neck, "acquire them when they're past the age of crawling on the carpet."  TK grins and ducks his head, and offers Enzo a hand to lever him up off the carpet. 

TK gets quieter the later in the evening it is, but it isn't until after they've put Jonah to bed that he says, "I really miss Mom."

Carlos curves a hand across his knee, anchoring him, and Enzo reaches out a hand to TK and holds it firm when TK takes it.  "I know, kid.  Me too.  Every day."

When he comes back from brushing his teeth he finds TK standing in the bedroom, staring at the framed pictures on the dresser.  It’s a timeline of TK as a kid, with Gwen, with Owen, with Enzo, in the middle of a pack of kids he thinks he recognizes as younger version of the people he met yesterday, a prom picture of TK with another boy in a tux, both of them looking gangly and awkward.  He comes up behind TK, looping an arm around his waist and peering over his shoulder.  “You were a cute kid.”

TK twists his neck to smile at him.  “I think Enzo’s cherry picking the pictures.  I know Mom and Dad showed you all the embarrassing ones, don’t lie.”

He grins.  “Yeah, possibly.”  He drops a kiss to the back of TK’s shoulder.  “What are you thinking?”

TK sighs and traces a finger along the edge of a picture of him and Gwen at a restaurant somewhere, both of them grinning and laughing.  “I keep thinking it’ll get easier, that some day it’ll feel like less of a shock to remember that she’s gone.  But then Dad’ll say something and I’ll think I have to tell Mom that, or there’ll be something I want to ask her about, or something I want her to tell me how to do, and I’ll remember that I can’t and it’s like hearing Enzo say it for the first time all over again.”

He steps up closer behind TK, tucking his body closer.  “It hasn’t even been a year yet, sweetheart.  Give yourself time.”

“There was so long when I never imagined that I’d get married, not really.  But Mom always thought I would.”  He turns in Carlos’s arms to look at him.  “She said she knew you were the one, even if we never got married that you were the one.  She would have loved helping us plan the wedding.”

Carlos raises an eyebrow and says dryly, “Because what this wedding needs is more opinions.”

TK grins.  “Yeah, but she would have fought with Dad, and it would have been epic and we could have done whatever and neither one of them would have noticed until it was too late.”  He stops abruptly, swallowing hard, and Carlos can hear tears thick in his throat.  “She’s never going to see me get married.  She’s never going to meet her grandchildren.”

And Carlos aches for him, and folds him closer and lets him cry, and curls up with him in bed when TK will let him coax him under the covers.

TK hugs Jonah for a long time the next morning, until Jonah wriggles away, but comes back with a handful of acorns that he holds out to TK.  TK looks at them bemused, and Enzo stifles a laugh.  “He collects them.  It’s an honor if he’s giving you one.”  TK nods and takes his time picking one out and says thank you.

Enzo hugs him too, whispering something in his ear that makes TK hold on for a moment longer.  And then Enzo hugs Carlos too.  “Thank you for coming up.”  He looks at where TK is squatting next to Jonah.  “I always forget how much I miss him until I see him again.

“We’ll be back in July,” Carlos promises, “and then we’ll see you for the wedding.”

Enzo nods.  “Gwyn really loved you.  She was so sure that the two of you would end up married.  I like to think that somewhere she’s gloating, and annoyed that she can’t make bank collecting on all the pots she had a finger in.”

Carlos laughs, and TK looks up, and then pushes himself up.  “We need to leave, or we’re going to tempt fate getting to the airport on time.”

AN: the Met Gala chapter was annoying me so I scrapped it and did one based on his interview with Angie Martinez

"You always have white stuff spilling out of your mouth, Miriam." Jack teased Miriam as she finished the last of her tiramisu.

"Oh shush." She mumbled, scooping up the last bit of the mascarpone whipped cream. 

They were in New York enjoying a lowkey dinner at an Italian restaurant before heading out to a Rangers game. Miriam had some scenes from the movie she was filming there because her character and Rudy Pankow's character had met in NYU. Jack was there to do some interviews to promote his album that was coming out that weekend. 

Their phones simultaneously went off. Miriam leaned to an empty chair where she put her jacket and pulled out her phone. It was a text from Beto, who was outside with Jack's bodyguard, saying that there was paparazzi outside the restaurant.

Since the news broke out about the two of them dating, surprisingly, they haven't been papped together. The closest they've gotten to being sighted was from a fan posting a recording them from a distance with the location hours later. They both hated dealing with paparazzi. Mostly because they always got the most out of pocket shit asked.  

She heard Jack curse as she replied to Beto. 

"Did–"

"Yeah." He nodded, knowing she was gonna ask him if knew about the paps. "There's no back street is there?"

"No." Miriam shook her head. 

"Fuck," he sighed. He ran a hand over his curls. "Let's just go, the longer we wait, the more time we give them."

Miriam nodded, motioning their server to bring over the check. They came by and set the check on the table. Jack smacked Miriam's hand away before she could grab for it. He reached for his wallet, pulling out a few bills and slipped them in the folder. They grabbed their things and made their way to the entrance. 

"So my dress is kinda short, could you use my jacket as a shield when I get in the car?" Miriam asked. She wore a cream Vivienne Westwood corseted, knit mini dress. She paired the dress with her ACNE Studios chocolate brown leather jacket with brown shearling inside and matching Stuart Weitzman leather platform boots. 

"Yeah, we can't have people seeing our goods." He said, taking the jacket. 

"Our?" She asked. 

"I said what I said." 

The hostess thanked them for dining at the restaurant as they exited. Miriam looked down, hiding her face with her curls, and quickly climbed in the SUV. Jack followed closely behind her, covering her so they wouldn’t get a glimpse of her ass. 

"C'mon Jack don't be greedy, let us see her ass." Someone yelled as he climbed in. 

One thing Jack won't let slide was someone objectifying Miriam, especially in front of him. But Beto closed the door before he could pop out and curse out whoever said that. He sat next to her angry at himself for not defending her. 

"Jack, I'm sorry." She said quietly. She felt guilty. Had she worn something less revealing, then the person wouldn't have yelled that at Jack and he wouldn't be mad.

"Miriam, you didn't do anything wrong." He said in a reassuring tone. "And don't try to justify it. You were simply existing and some creep yelled that shit unprovoked. Okay?" 

"Yeah," she nodded.

It was comforting that Jack told her that. Miriam's past partners have always said the opposite and made it seem like it was her fault whenever she'd get catcalled. It didn't matter if it was a college party or just in the streets, they always pinned it on her and what she wore. She felt very fortunate to have Jack. Words can't describe how safe he makes her feel. 

"I love you." She found herself telling him. 

It caught Jack off guard, but he didn't waste a second to say it back. 

The drive to Madison Square Garden wasn't long. Delta hooked up Jack with some VIP tickets and they came with access to a different entrance from those that had general admission tickets. They followed an usher that brought them to the Delta lounge. There they explained all the amenities that came with their tickets and how they could stay in the lounge and watch the game from there or they could get escorted down to the rink. Jack and Miriam agreed that they would rather watch the game in the rink. They were also given custom jerseys with their names on the back and letterman jackets. 

They made a pit stop at concessions. Miriam wanted a pretzel and a drink. Jack also got some water and popcorn for himself. They thanked the security who escorted them to their seats. 

Miriam took a picture of the rink for her Instagram Stories, adding 'Elle Kennedy prepared me for this.' 

"Who's Elle Kennedy?" Jack asked her, reading over her shoulder.

"She's an author who wrote like two hockey series, so all my knowledge on hockey is coming from that" She said.

"Damn, I don't know shit either." He said. 

"Your mom told me you dated the captain of your high school's hockey team." She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. 

"She played field hockey and we never discussed it because we mostly spent our time in the back of her mom's minivan." He said coyly. 

"A simple 'she played field hockey' would have been a fine response."

During warmups Jack and Miriam were shown on the jumbotron along with other celebrities. Miriam was shown first. “Here we have Miriam Dominguez, fashion icon and actress. She is known for her roles in ‘In the Heights' and ‘What We Saw’. Her movie ‘The Lies We Vow To’ that she’s starring alongside Oscar Isaac, comes out June 18th, but will be shown at Cannes later this month.” The announcer said with her verse on ‘96,000’ from ‘In the Heights’ playing in the background. 

The jumbotron panned out to her. She gave them a shy smile and turned so that Jack could get full attention as the announcer listed all his accomplishments and how his album was dropping that week. She smiled as he took in the cameras. He was in his own world, dancing along to Nail Tech as it played. 

The couple was in their own little world laughing and talking while watching the game. Miriam’s whole body was turned to Jack. She held onto his arm while his hand rested on her thigh. Suddenly cheers and whistles filled the arena, making the couple look up at the jumbotron.

Cameras were pointed at them for the kiss cam, they ruined their moment. Miriam pulled away and sat straight. Jack waved at the kiss cam to move away from them. It moved onto another couple who happily took in the cameras. 

During one of the breaks, Jack and Miriam went back to the VIP lounge to watch the last of the game so they could avoid the crowd when it ended. Miriam excused herself to use the restroom, leaving Jack to entertain himself. He saw a post of him and Miriam waiting in line at concessions on Twitter. The tweet itself made him snort when he read it: “Why is Miriam always eating up Jack with her outfits?” He decided to retweet it with, “that’s because i’m always eating her out 🤝🏻 balance”.

The following morning Miriam flew out to LA while Jack stayed back in New York. They were going to meet in Louisville for the Derby. Jack still had to do some radio interviews. Luckily he was at his last interview with Angie Martinez. 

"This is the type of shit that would make a girlfriend jealous." Angie pointed out as she and Jack discussed how he's a friendly person by nature but people take it as him being flirty. "Wait, you do have a girlfriend, right?" 

Jack felt his cheeks warm up. He scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah, I'm spoken for." He smiled shyly. 

"Can I ask about you guys?" The radio host asked.

"You can ask, but…" he trailed off. 

"We'll see if I get an answer." She finished for him

"Exactly." He nodded, making her laugh.

"I'm just curious how you two met." She continued. 

"Because Miriam is way out of my league?" He asked, in a playful tone. 

"It's not even about that. It's just that you've been seen, associated with a range of women that no one really knew the type of woman you'd go for."

"I mean I like all women. But I gravitate towards women with confidence; someone who's smart that can carry a conversation with me without it feeling forced. I really like sweethearts and not the type that infantilize themselves to seem innocent. I don't like any jerky or toxic energy. Miriam has all those qualities and more. We balance and compliment each other really well. She is that person who's pretty closed off until she lets you get to know her. Then you see her personality shine through."

Angie stayed quiet, trying to figure out her response but Jack continued. "To answer your initial question, we met last January at a soccer game in LA. Her dad is one of my favorite soccer players growing up, still is. He's a phenomenal athlete. That day LA Galaxy was playing Chelsea, my favorite team and the team her dad played for, and they happened to be sitting in the same section as I was. I made conversation with Miriam because her dad went to meet up with friends, but we stayed behind. That same night a friend of a friend was hosting some dinner and invited me. She was there with her sister. We talked some more there then I slid in her dms as a friend."

"How do you slide in someone's dms as a friend?" She asked him.

"I can't reveal too much about that. Just know, what I did worked." He said coyly. 

"I'm assuming, you guys have been together for a few months." She said. 

Jack nodded. "It'll be a year in July." 

"Oh wow, I was thinking it was brand new." 

"Nah, we've been together for a while."

"How were you able to keep your relationship hidden for so long?" 

"We didn't keep our relationship hidden, we kept it private." He corrected her. "We told those who we want to know and who we trusted to respect our relationship and our privacy. Honestly, I could have just told you 'yes I'm dating someone' and moved on when you asked me. But I trust you, I trust that you won't manipulate what I tell you about me and my partner to make it seem that my relationship with her is something completely different from what I told you. You know." 

"From the bottom of my heart I really appreciate that. I hope that I didn't cross any boundaries." She told him sincerely.  

From there they talked some more about the singles of his album, how he featured Young Miami in the Nail Tech music video, briefly mentioning Miriam's unplanned cameo. They discussed his trip to Turks and Caicos with Drake then veered off to the album's features and how Jack was able to bring them to the album. 

"Are any of the songs in your new album about her?" Angie asked, cautiously. 

Jack tilted from side to side, contemplating. He adjusted his mic wnf spoken into it. "She'll know if they are."

Why Nurse Miriam Means So Much To Me [As A Disabled Person]

(This post contains SPOILERS for Nurse Miriam’s Friendship Route!)

So I’ve really, REALLY, been wanting to talk about Miriam for a while, and how despite her route being an incredibly tiny and obscure part of the overall plot, she’s one of the most heartfelt inclusions in the game.

As a brief recap, Miriam:

• Is the academy’s nurse who can be found in the Nurse’s Office, selected via the electronic console menu in the Academy Building.

• Can be befriended. After introducing yourself to Miriam for the first time, she will ask that you return once in a while on your journey so that you can tell her how things are going, because she finds herself growing quite bored being in the nurse’s office all day.

• When visiting her a few times along your Path Of Champions storyline, new cutscenes will unlock (if you have the correct number of badges.) During these cutscenes, you learn that Miriam wanted to become a Health Ed Teacher but due to circumstances outside her control, she could never pass with the grades required regardless of how many times she took the certification test. She instead ended up working as a first-aid nurse for the academy.

• Though Miriam likes the students at the academy and enjoys her job, it is clear throughout your interactions with her that she longs for something more, and that she has grown disheartened as of late. She does not take this failure out on others, nor does she push students to study until they drop so they end up better than her, which is a small detail I really like. It’s not often you see a failed adult in media who doesn’t choose to then push the children in their life to ‘do better’ than them.

• For this, Miriam is beloved by students, who all like her cheery personality and her kind words. They often go to her office even when they’re feeling fine, just to take a break once in a while (we’ve all been there). Miriam lets them stay as long as they like, and even allows them to take out their Pokémon while doing so, something which Jacq says is technically against the school rules (though to be real with you nobody seems to listen to this anyway).

The reason why I want to talk about her so bad is because, surprise surprise, she’s an extremely good example of a relatable character for a lot of folk, not just disabled people. And not only is she relatable, her arc actually has quite a sweet and hopeful ending to it that further enhances the ‘learn to recover from and acknowledge the past, look toward building a better future’ themes of the game itself.

As somebody who has had to restart and then stop university studies frequently due to a chronic health condition, Miriam means a lot to me as a character. She’s an older woman who has failed previously many times in her academic attempts, had accepted for a while that it just couldn’t be done under the circumstances, and then settled for less for a fairly long period of time.

In this day and age, it tends to feel a lot like students are shoved from high-school into university the day after their graduation and told ‘this is your only chance to succeed, and if you do not, then you are Less Than’ and I imagine that for younger folk in Japan, this is even more of an issue considering their very heavy crunch/work culture.

On that same note, I’m actually a little surprised and quite pleasantly so about the steps forward that Game Freak have made recently with the more emotional arcs of their games by promoting messages such as the ones we see in Arven, Penny, and Nurse Miriam. I feel that considering these are games mostly intended for children, it’s lovely to see some representation for the struggles that people can go through when they’re younger, and rather than sidestepping the issues they go out of their way to say that ‘things like this happen, and that’s alright. You won’t feel this bad forever, things are eventually going to be alright again.’ It’s a very positive mindset to be promoting, and I hope that little things like this go on to comfort kids who play these games and can relate to these situations.

Though university and other forms of further education aren’t for everyone, especially those of us who struggle with the structure of it due to health reasons, I do think it’s still a very nice end to her arc that she gets to achieve her goal of becoming a Health Ed teacher. I do wish for a character in media sometime to go through Miriam’s situation and never achieve their goal for further studies, without it being treated as a tragedy or that the character is less than others because of it, though I can see why they went this route instead. Even if it would be nice to someday have a character who is told “you can’t do this no matter how hard you try, and that’s alright too, we can find something else that you can do”, maybe we can have that in a different game or on a different day.

The point is that despite its many faults, I do see a lot of small details in ScarVi that show a level of care on the part for the development team, as much as I also see a shift in a more general sense to do with promoting diversity and healthier, more positive, mindsets. I want to appreciate the small steps forward that large video games like this make, because it’s a clear sign of something positive that will reach a lot of people.

In the end, I also think I like Miriam as a character because she’s somebody who has been through a rather normal struggle that a lot of people go through, and not only does she not become an entirely jaded person who gives up and unhealthily pushes those around her to be better than her so she can live vicariously through them, but when she does finally succeed, the game also goes out of its way to tell you that even though you were the inspiration for Miriam to return to her studies, it was HER that put the effort in once more to succeed.

There is never a line that says ‘whew, I got lucky this time!’ and I’m so thankful for that, and that Miriam instead tells you that she succeeded because she put the work in and tried her hardest.

Whether or not you study in university, whether or not you are able to finish those studies, I think Nurse Miriam’s route tells us that it’s alright to struggle with academics and that it’s alright to fail. Eventually, you will find something that works for you, even if it doesn’t feel like it for the longest time.

(Sorry this came out a day late, but Happy New Year! I hope anyone who is studying this year tries their hardest and finds what works for them!)

Alright I HAVE to gush about Dragone Age Absolution mostly cuz I’m a starved DA fan first and a person second. Spoilers, and long post below

I LOVED Rezaren. He’s an excellent villain, but I hardcore disagree with the takes that he’s just as traumatized as Miriam and Neb and that he’s coming from a place of twisted love- He’s a born and bred Tevinter Magister. There is not a single second where he does not place his needs absolutely first or hesitate to do something that crosses a line or endangers others. From the START he believes he knows best (turning Memory, an ancient spirit who had so much knowledge to give to Enmity when it would not obey) or that his wishes are what everyone else should want (ignoring Tassia’s requests to make the palace safer to play with the circulum, everything with Miriam). And why should Rezaren EVER question himself? From birth he was given PEOPLE as personal playthings, tools, extensions of himself (his right and left hand). His failed harrowing, a DEATH SENTENCE in every other circle, is a consequence for someone ELSE to bear (and suffer for). He’s an Ammosine, and no Ammosine has ever failed their harrowing. There is no point in the show where Rezaren shows a hint of hesitation or remorse. This is WHILE he is considering himself kind and so far removed from his cold blooded and cruel magister kin. He breaks every rule with blood magic and magister law and if he had succeeded I truly do not think he would have faced a single consequence. What an amazing way to showcase the deep set corruption of the Imperium without having a stereotypically evil character.

Tassia and Sapphira are different sides of the same coin to me. It’s an excellent example of how difficult, if not impossible it is to separate the biases and culture you grew up in from yourself. Tassia defends the citizens at the palace at every turn- even defying Rezaren at one point to do so*. She agrees with Hira when it comes to rooting out the Venatori, an easy example of Tevinter corruption. But it means absolutely FUCK ALL because she’s so indoctrinated into the Imperium culture that she would never make an actual difference. *Part of the reason the common people at the palace are in danger is because she never, ever corrects Rezaren or contradicts his will in any real way. She lets him into the vault without changing the safety measures (EVEN AFTER SUMMONING A WHOLE DEMON) because he’s a magister and she’s there to hold the status quo. She never blinks an eye at the slaves around her, even going to far as to consider Neb (who she can’t possibly know the truth about) someone who would care deeply about Rezaren’s welfare, knowing he is a whole ass slave bound to his service from childhood. She willingly turns a blind eye to Rezaren’s corruption and ambition, vaguely threatening to turn him into the Divine but I truly believe she never EVER would. Innocent people died all around Rezaren and Tassia willingly let it happen every step of the way, while considering herself anti-corruption and a bastion of what Tevinter could be.

Sapphira is the EXACT SAME! Spoilers for the twist but despite joining the inquisition we see that she could never detach herself from the Imperium even if she’s wanting for it’s destruction and not caring what that means for the elves that live there, free or enslaved. She paints the Inqusition as uncaring to the Tevinter plight but the key is that she, unlike the advisors of the Inquisition (shout out to my wife Leliana) doesn’t care about the collateral, be it innocent citizens or her lover, Miriam. There’s so much I could write about the dynamics between Miriam and Hira but it really does boil down to this: Hira is/was an affluent mage from a well respected family in a place where mages rule above all. I have no doubt her family had slaves as well, and that she likely didn’t think twice about them and still doesnt. I can’t speak to Hira’s true feelings for Miriam; the show makes it seem like she does care for her at the end, with her inability to kill Miri. But there is no love where, to get what you want, you’d SELL YOUR ESCAPED SLAVE GIRLFRIEND back to her master. “You would’ve escaped again!” my ass. She would’ve been as complicit to Rezaren as Tassia was while convincing herself the ends justified the means. Hira is just as much the villain as Rezaren is. They both use Miriam for personal gain, like she’s a “thing”, a piece in their chess game, while they’re convinced that they’re in the right and better than their peers. It’s almost a shame her family was wiped out, because she probably would’ve made a very effective magister. (And don’t get me started on “we were trying to change things for the people around us!” Her family was for sure, but in the flashback we see she was just a child when it happened. Her family may have been trying to enact change, but Hira had a chance to make a difference with Miriam and instead used her for personal gain, just like the people who killed her family).

So I've been seeing that OC asks thing that's been floating around by @yvesdot and decided to take a crack at it with Miriam, so fair warning, this will be a long post.

1: Doesn't really sleep with stuffed animals but absolutely would if given one. Miriam is incredibly fond of soft fluffy objects so I imagine she'd love to have one.

2: She should be able to take care of one, she's half dryad after all. Which is ironic considering she's half vampire. Has been known to be very fond of cats and pigeons, still very miffed that pigeons are considered dirty. Also could take care of a child, though she'd be a strict mother.

3: Miriam doesn't have a currently have a love interest aside from a joke ship, however she was with Carmilla (different from gonzo my version is more based on the book that predates Dracula) and she'd probably say "She's beautiful with the way her eyes can appear to be the colour of soil to the brightest of rubies. She is a soul like no other, sweeter than the sweetest strawberry and yet can be more vicious than the sharpest thorn. I gladly fight in her stead, wetting my blade with blood in her name."

4: Yes, yes she does. The only reason I don't put her in red more often is because otherwise she can look a bit too much like Alucard. Thankfully she's not as allergic to colour as he is lmao

5: If the situation demands it or she gets frustrated enough, the genes to be dramatic has been passed down. She will mostly give ones meant to kick men into gear due her history as a general, or she'll make a speech about the uselessness of fighting for nothing, a hollow thing in her eyes.

6: Person she always takes advice no matter what? Hmm, does it count if it was a dead man? Alive it would probably be Irons whom she trusts despite being older than him, dead the man who mentored her. As for person she never takes advice from no matter what would probably be Arthur or the pope, my gal hates the church with a passion.

7: In three words? Morally grey, wrathful, determined. For her, she'd describe herself as Godless, unnatural, and a bastard.

8: She likes puzzles, they're entertaining to her, loves the ones that you have to put together to make different shapes. A fan of mysteries as well.

9: empathizes with books, specifically the burned ones because it reminds her of herself and how humans try to get rid of her as well.

10: Probably when she was 212 because she'd have been with Carmilla at the time, who made her feel like a person and not an abomination of God.

11: Save, this woman only really uses money for bribes or when she needs to legally buy something like property.

12: Enjoys romance because she can dream for a little bit that she's normal and doesn't have to be careful with whom she interacts with

13: From her mother? How to make tea from Garlic flowers; from her father? To learn to be more okay with feeding and learn how to use her more vampiric abilities more effectively and efficiently.

14: Yes, this woman's guilty pleasure is garlic, she is also allergic to garlic. Fortunately it's the flowers she really has to worry about, and the garlic just gives her mild food poisoning.

15: Probably social functions that are just there to flaunt wealth and nothing more. Also thinks hunting for the sport of it is also a waste of time (and wasteful in general).

16: Honestly? She'd probably indulge a little in a fine dress, because she does like pretty dresses, but mostly would wear pants and more soft fabrics yet pretty fabrics with a lot of beading.

17: Yes, she is fond of them

18: tongue, all the way, might even playfully nip or get a fang "accidentally" caught on a lip.

19: Will study before tests, will wing it with interviews.

21: honestly? Betraying her, or otherwise being dishonest over a long period of time. Might just straight up eat her partner if they're abusive.

22: loves pet names, will default to ones from other Ukrainian or Romanian, usually the latter. Most used would be iubițel or iubi. Has been known to give nicknames to specific people, like Integra she might call Ursuleț or little bear.

23: Novelty, though she thinks she wishes for Stability, what she actually wants is to not have to worry about fighting or bloodshed for at least a century.

24: Honesty

25: Possibility, this woman might have grown tired of bloodshed, but she's not opposed to taking beneficial opportunities when she sees them.

26: A mix of both, admires talent, but admires effort more, for effort will turn into talent with enough time.

27: Vengeance all the way, this woman killed a man's entire family one by one before killing because he killed her lover, and before that was a killer of those who killed werewolves when she found them, sometimes going so far to kill members of the church. Definitely has a blood price sort of mentality.

28: She is the fixer upper, or she'd make them worse, no in between

29: Has a tendency to dream of the church or to dream of finding Carmilla's dead body or her mentor and his pack dead.

30: Probably raise Carmilla back from the dead just for a night, but knows better than to subject her beloved to that.

Marco Bodt's Past and Family Headcanons!

Hi guys, my first post, just my headcanons for my boy's past and family! Maybe a WIP, trust me it is long (2k plus words) but I think I got the gist of it. Some small details, I decided that all their names start with a M but they have very dumb silly nicknames just like my family does. I come from like a very big family of 7 so I put my own personal experiences and quirks here. I tried to give them all their own unique personalities especially his parents to explain how he is the way he is. And I kinda fell in love with them, they are just so wholesome! I used a lot of Pinterest fanarts and headcannons for reference I will credit them when I have the time!

Parents & Background

I'd like to imagine Jinae was a warm place snuggled up in the southern countryside very far off from camp, taking days to visit. wheat, hay, and fields everywhere that Marco and his siblings often got lost in. Life there was pretty simple and everybody was tight-knit country folk who worked on the big farms the lords owned. There was not that much to do there, just as plain as the plains that surrounded them. 

Hid parents met on the farm they worked and lived at ever since they were young, she was the one to mostly make the move, and ever since then, they had been in love despite their off personalities. Everybody was shocked that the shy meek loner got the giddy talkative gf haha. 

His father, Manuel, works in the fields. The well-off landowners he has worked for ever since he was a young lad were generous enough to let him and his family settle on a small meager humble patch on the outskirts of their big farmland, and he gets most of the leftover wheat with permission to build and support his wife with their little run of the mill bakery which was their abode.

Manuel is like an old workhorse, tired and stern,  with rough scarred hands, but gets the job done. Marco definitely has his chubby long face and eyes but Manuel has this more tired-lidded look to it.  He was born with a delicate condition that affected his work and health a lot but he also was still diligent when it came to providing for his family even when it cost him at times. 

He's a gentle thoughtful stern man who is quiet and only speaks a few yet wise words, but that never stopped him from being a bad father, he was rather sweet and mellow, and he was always good at reading people and his children and wife’s needs. Probably that guy who always says “yes honey” to his always-correct wife. 

Now we go onto Miriam. Marco got her freckles and his red nose from her definitely thank her for that! She’s extraverted and Giddy, but She has a kind gentle mellow soul who you definitely at first glance would say is a mother. She liked to fill her kids' stories up with dreams, fairy tales, and lullabies and fill up their bellies with delicious food. Shes the main manager of their whole bakery along with a housewife, but things had been hectic given the family's size so she thought the kids were thought to help as well.

So in the end, I'd like to think Marco got his dreaminess and positiveness from his extroverted mother. while he has his father's thoughtful, observant, and understanding nature and why he cares a lot about duty! Combine both and you get this sunshine right here!

Siblings 

Marco grew up the oldest of 6 kids, 3 daughters and 3 sons.  It was a rowdy bunch and sometimes times were rough due to the money, but he loved it there and his big family, he’d often tell the stories to Erna, and it always made 

 I don't know who started the headcanon I've been seeing since 2013 that Marco is a big brother, but its absolute canon now to me it makes perfect sense given his personality, always being the giver rather than the receiver…

The Twins, Matteo “Teo” and Mattea “Tea (pronounced Te-yah)”  would be born, when Marco was about 4. 

Teo is a cheeky little bastard, blunt with his words, and often got into trouble with others and older folks which Marco often had to be in his side to restrain or put him in his place. Marco kinda sees Matteo in Jean a lot,  Snarky and smug but honest and loyal deep down. Probably why he was adamant about being on good terms with Jean even if the boy seemed like a jerk to Marco at first.  

While Tea is the opposite of Teo, she’s more like her father, tired and gentle, she’s very well-read, preppy for a country bumpkin,  and observant but she prefers to keep her mouth shut, but when she doesn’t, it's always something wise or snarky. She would rather die than admit she is as full of herself as Teo haha.  She had to keep up with the likes of Matteo ever since she was born so she’s mostly done with everybody’s bs. 

The twins' dynamic sorta reminds him of Jean and Erna’s a lot due to them always bickering and bantering wittily,  so it brings  a chuckle out of him sometimes, they were like their family to him when his were so far away from home

Micaela “Mica” and Monica “Nica”, aren't twins but they are close to age enough to be mistaken and they are all kind of called that in their family. 

Mica is a tomboy and has a thirst for fun and adventure, she's very carefree friendly, and ditzy, unlike Matteo who's sly and snarky. She butts heads with Tea a lot for being an improper lady.  The closest to her the most is her little sister Nica and Marco, they're one of the few people who can keep up with her hype.   She’s very dreamy and curious and loves to play with others and Marco. Normally the rest would type her off as that weird hyperactive kid. 

On the other hand, I'd imagine Nica would be a shy meek yet equally dreamy girl. She always looked up to her elder siblings, especially Marco, they both loved to play and imagine, and he was the one she wanted to do with the most. She's a bit mellow and very quiet and tired due to not being born with the best genes like Marco did, barely even saying a few words across a day. So, Marco was very protective of her growing up. 

He was like that to all of his sisters. Braiding their hair, making sure they were safe. He was taught to respect wamen from the very get-go from his mother and he was a big mama’s boy so it was second nature to him to be a gentleman. 

Lastly,  Manuel, or “Manny” is the baby of the family,  who is named after their father. He and Marco have a 12-13 year age gap, Marco enlisted a few months after he was born, so they didnt spend that much time together, something Marco regrets. Manny doesn't remember a lot about Marco other than the stories his mother gave, and the short visits he had on holidays. 

But Marco seemed otherwise, cherishing every detail of him. A core memory for the two brothers, Marco and Teo is when they were begging that their mother's baby would be a boy when they huddled around her belly because it was unfair for another girl in the girl’s team, they didnt want to be outnumbered haha and they coincidentally got their gift lol. 

Manny is studious just like Marco albeit a bit more timid than his older bubbly brother. It brings an ache yet fondness to Miriam’s heart how similar he is to her first boy,  it was like a little gift fate gave her to him to soothe her heart when he went away for camp…then forever.   

After that, He never had that many father figures to look for in life. Marco went to the military right after he was out of his mom’s stomach. Then His father died from a broken heart after what happened to Marco when he was just aged 5,  and his older brother Matt was just too immature for that role so he had a lot of unanswered questions in his life and was the source of his problems and insecurities. 

Childhood

Marco was born just a year after their marriage. Miriam loved children but due to his troubled birth she decided to focus more on Marco for the years to come and that explains the age gap compared to the rest of his siblings. Matteo and Mattea are born 4  years later while the rest of the Bott siblings' ages are 1-2 years apart away from each other at most. 

He was born rather sickly like his father, he had a frailer body than most, and fevers often caught him as a a baby. So he knew from the very get-go what it felt like to be weak. Due to that,  he was babied a lot by Miriam he turned into a chubby kid from her smothering.  

His mother tried to protect him from anything bad in the world after that. His sheltered-ness was always a reason for him to prove himself in front of everybody and be of help instead of being a burden. Always trying to do chores like milking the goats and cows, cleaning, and helping raise his siblings!

 He was the first born so he knew he had a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders to keep up with that he often felt like caught up to him. Even if his parents were not that strict and loved him unconditionally,  He always felt that pressure to be that golden child to pay back. He often tried to help his father with farmwork but that was rare given Miriam’s pestering, so most of the time he’d help his mom keep his wild siblings in check and lead them. 

So to summarize, Marco always had experience being the family therapist and peacemaker, being a big brother and the eldest son made him want to put others' needs before his and his and take his responsibilities seriously. And sometimes he shoulders too much that it costs him…

His social standing as a child was he was shyer and meek than he was in his trainee years but he loves  people, to spend time, help, and listen to them like his mom did, he was just really awkward due to not being treated the best by the other kids and teenager stuff  

He had trouble making friends his age, he was too much of a goody-two-shoes haha he would definitely be that kid to snitch on other kids' secret cursing clubs. And, he didnt have a single friend his age outside of his family up until his trainee years.

His health issues prevented him from playing with other children outside their family. Plus, They often picked on him for his pudgy weight and silly imagination and dreams, and that kinda of stuck with him a lot and was the source of his many insecurities under his dimpled smile.  

But He was a sweet boy so the grandma and other moms loved him for being the boy next door who always helped. Their Bakery was small and the only one in their town, so Marco knew almost everybody there.   

I kinda wanted to have a cute reason as to why he wanted to be a MP… 

As a child he was always interested in stories and playing as a dutiful knight protecting the king or some princess, he loved to play those stories with his siblings especially. And that made him set his sights on wanting to join the MP’s to serve the true king instead of make-believe.  

Even if it wasn't specific, he always wanted To dedicate himself to a bigger purpose. To be responsible,  maintain peace and order, all that jazz. He knew he wasn't that special or outstanding in life on his own, but if he could serve someone or be some helpful cog in the machine, make someone happy like he does with his family - that was enough.

Authors Note, I decided he had a pretty normal childhood because the whole abusive family with dead people then someone turns out to be perfectly fine is done to oblivion even if it is inspiring, and I’ve seen this done so many times with people’s headcanons for Marco. I don't want to traumatize him…yet.  I like the idea of Marco being a preety normal boy,  and most of his isues like his naivety and sometimes insecurity still stem from him being sheltered and bullied as a weird naive kid. 

Marco’s Enlistment

His dreams would always stay even when he was reaching to be a young man.  He felt there was honor in making bread and feeding people by making them happy. But he felt like he was made for more than that and to do great things for the world.  

The fall of Wall Maria hit hard on everybody, nobody was doing well and drought hit badly in the following 2 years crops from overfarming for the refugee’s rations. The Bodt’s had to keep selling most of their livestock, some of the chickens to make eggs, some cows and goats they had to make milk, and their old horse. To make things worse, Manuel got sick often due to overworking making Marco to be the one to plow the fields at most times but even his weak body wasn't enough. 

The Bodt’s could barely feed their already big family after that and they had to go to desperate measures so Marco thought of something. As soon as the year’s training batch was over and there was an opening, he went to enlist secretly. Everybody was doing it and most of the boys who messed with him went there as well to make a name for themselves. 

He felt lonely and selfish for the decision but If it meant having one less mouth to feed for his loved ones it was worth it. Plus, he wanted to make the dreams he had since he was a child a reality. 

His mother was disappointed in him for his decision a week before he would go, and she pestered him a lot for it, and begged him to stay. Most of his family and siblings didnt want him to go as well. Nobody said it especially, his family His parents and siblings but they all thought he was naive at best, and most of the ther townfolk given that he was weakling making a fool of himself and he would quit months later. 

His mother was usually optimistic and believed in him, but given the diire situation they were in, she felt out of hope and just wanted to let whats left of her family to stick by. Even if they were poor, things could only work would get through together she thought. 

And he was still her little boy all this time, she was protective that he wouldnt come back the same and be hurt in such a big cruel  world compared to their warm little town. 

But Marco with a heavy heart, disobeyed her for the first time in his life. He promised to visit and write to the family as much as possible. The next few days were somber and Miriam couldnt help but stop crying silently, the siblings were less chatty and rowdy, they tried to keep things normal without addressing the elephant in the room but Marco tried to comfort them. 

The day then, He said his farewell to his father, and all his siblings huddled up near him as he was about to go out.  Just before he would go out of their fence, his mother told him something, “Not everybody will want what you give to this world like we do,  my sun…When you find someone who loves you as much as we do, keep them and don’t let go” She reminded him, not wanting him to be alone. Marco smiled and hugged her tight, getting teary-eyed but promising he would and he’d come back safe…

Why you should watch "Die Rosenheim-Cops"

As described in English even though the show is German because I want to reach all of my mutuals. Language shall not be a barrier. Also, I feel like I can convey this stuff better in English. If you like stuff like Midsomer Murders, this is for you. I started making this post during summer break but never got to finish it. Well, now I finally did.

The Formula

The structure of the story is mostly the same for every episode. Someone finds a body, we switch to the office where the call is taken, the inspectors are informed and at least one always arrives late. Then the forensics expert gives some basic info and interrogations start. Usually, there's a more comedic or lighthearted B-plot to the main murder plot. Sometimes, it's more relevant and focused on, sometimes it's just there to make everything feel less stiff and repetitive. Then, both plots work towards conclusion, the murder plot with lots of zigzags and twists and turns as more and more is uncovered. Each episode ends with the culprit being found and a final fun banter freezeframe.

The Scenery

The whole show plays in the city of Rosenheim and its surroundings. So, if you like older buildings, mountains, lakes, you'll like the aesthetic too

There's just one issue:

The show is in German only. I haven't found a source for English subtitles yet either. BUT if you understand German, I'd definitely recommend you watch it. Additionally, if you don't and you ask me nicely, I might even be able to dig up my old hyperfixation energy and write subtitles/a translated script for one of my favourite episodes. Or one of the best-rated ones. The show is on IMDb after all, so you could browse and see which one you like. Third of all, I might also translate my fanfic to English, who knows.

I don't really like Jack Crawford. I'd like everyone to hear me out though.

I can appreciate he had an interesting character arc and that he was more aggressive with Will in earlier episodes because he was going through a lot of shit himself (Miriam stuff, his wife had cancer, he looked like the bad guy for accusing Abigail of helping to kill people even though he was RIGHT). I can appreciate that he has nice aspects too. He loves his wife and wants to take care of her. He works hard to save the majority. He cares about his subordinates, even when he's yelling at them.

My not vibing with Jack mostly just comes from that scene in the angel maker episode where Jack and Will are in the barn and Jack "gives Will an opportunity to get out" and says he's not gonna make the decision for him, but kinda guilts Will with the fact that he "saves lives" and should put that over his own everything. It reminded me a lot of my own dad, and let's just say that relationship is one I'd rather not think of.

So overall, I know he's a good character with good intentions, and I don't mind reading posts or fics or seeing art or anything with him in them, I'm just in the unfortunate position where my brain hyperfocused on that one negative (as I perceived it) interaction/representation with Jack and has kinda held onto it. 😔

Households: I was gonna mod the game so I could have more then 8 sims in a household till I realized that required me remembering to not go into CAS so I had to reorganize because I cannot be trusted. The house holds are a bit lop sided because I wanted their to be a theme to their togetherness.

Charcaters Selected: I bascially choose charcaters I liked, were iconic, or I thought would be interesting to interact. I started with a list of 133 then slimmed it down to like 80... then slowly increased to 109. To be fair the 7 were very easy to do cause I could do what I want (AI’s, Parents, etc.). The outfits were the hardest part and after like sim 60ish I gave up doing unqiue outfits for all events so I focused on their main outfit and pruning the random clothing the game gave them. I wanted to fill a world with Horizon sims so that's why I went Ham.

Family Connection: Every family connection is correct except Rost and Aloy but I might use MCCC to correct that. Thats’ why I had to make Jiran, Fashav's Mother, Nakoa's Father because you can’t just make cousins/aunts/etc. in CAS. I made Miriam because I planned to murder her along with others to make a more interesting family tree instead of the blank image till I felt bad. I also made Stemmur Morlund’s dad..... cause I could (I recogize its not canon but he seems like a adopted dad kinda thing).

Relationships: I like rare ships and Beta x Regalla has been on my mind since I saw a post hinting at that. The planned stuff is also not fully set in stone though because I do love almost every ship, just some are more my favs (The gay ships mostly).

Future: I gonna start posting all the Sims and the CC I used in a few days along with the houses I have been making (so far I have made 10 out of 16 houses over 98ish hours).

Maki's Shadow Master, Miriam: Lively and fun, Miriam is the very definition of frivolous. She loves fashion and dancing(similar to Briar) and often tries to get Maki out of her shell. She thinks that Atlas is a peacock, which is really low coming from her.

(I changed Maki's hair because cleaning with ankle-length pigtails is just…no.)

Kaito's shadow master, Atlas: Comes across as arrogant and boisterous to a lot of people, but that's just his overwhelming amount of confidence and positivity. Hates Octavius(He'll come up in another post) for abusing his Living Doll.

Angie's Shadow Master, Vivienne: Quirky and a bit unconventional, similar to Angie. She loves using her soot to make art, and her room is filled with paintings(mostly just black squiggles)

Keebo(Yes, he's human)'s Shadow Master, Cameron: Intelligent but a bit shy and antisocial. On the research team with Miu and Marcelina, and he made a robot version of Keebo(K1-BO) to play with when Keebo is cleaning with the other Living Dolls.

I discovered her channel when I was 16 years old, I am 19 now and still watch her to this day.

I really like how she takes a game that she really, really likes and turns it into a series.

Here's are some of the things she created:

The Pink Corruption — A Just Shapes and Beats Fanseries

A blue quadrilateral named Cube is chosen to be the fourth caretaker of the Tree of Life to raise a new hero. But things go wrong when a pink monster breaks free from being sealed and is spreading its virus throughout Paradise. Now, it's up to Cube, his hero Cyan, and the other caretakers and heroes to stop Dub and save Paradise.

This is where it all started and I loved every minute of it!

I watched this when the first two episodes came out. At the time, my brother had introduced me to the game from Merg, a gaming youtuber, and I liked it. I kept seeing the videos pop up in my recommended list, eventually, I finally watched them and that leads up to now.

There is a season 2 on the way and I am so excited to see what happens next! If you are a JSaB fan, I highly recommend you watch this. You won't regret it.

Forbidden Song — A Wandersong Fanseries

Four years after the events from the game, Kiwi, Miriam and Aubrey go through many scenarios while trying to stop a mysterious being from summoning monsters around the world with a forbidden song.

This was series was pretty cool as well. But after I played the game for myself, I had a much better view on what this series was about. It's a pretty underrated game as well, so why not give it a play. It's really good!

Cookie World — A Cookie Run: Kingdom Fanseries

This series takes place as an AU(Alternate Universe). Gingerbrave, his friends and the ancients defeated Dark Enchantress Cookie and revived White Lilly Cookie. However, a mysterious threat is now lurking around Earthbread and its up to them to stop it.

This was absolutely incredible! I had seen videos of CRK and thought of Brittany Robinson, because it seemed like something she would play. I had actually posted a comment a while back, she already got word of it from a friend.

The shorts were awesome as well. My favorite was The Curse of Silhouette Cookie.

I can't play Cookie Run: Kingdom, unfortunately. My tablet was not built to run it. :(
