Letters From Watson Liveblog - Sep. 19
The Dancing Men, Part 2 of 3
Is this case going to turn out to be one of Holmes' failures? There were a few similarities to The Five Orange Pips already, so hopefully it doesn't end with Hilton dying and the murderers getting away only to possibly die in a shipwreck.
Watson was right, this story has taken quite a dark turn. Unless this is all just gossip, then I'm guessing she shot him by accident and that's why she then decided to shoot herself.
I like the contrast of Watson and Holmes here after hearing about what happened. Holmes sits and speculates and thinks about the case and what he could have done differently, while Watson distracts himself with the countryside they're passing through.
So Elsie here lives! That's good! It's not all dark, then. I mean, her husband is dead and it's because of her indirectly, but at least she herself is still alive.
Well, after The Devil's Foot, I assume Holmes has become quite an expert on the ways in which gasses and fumes move through rooms and buildings.
I know that the criminal is likely to be caught soon, but with how solemn Holmes was acting about what happened earlier, him so quickly moving on to do other work is quite a change. I think it's inline with his character though, and the assumption could be made that he is simply distracting himself with other things.

Prompt 187
Clockwork would openly admit that he couldn’t see Danny’s timelines. Not since the moment he stepped into that portal and became something more. A child of Infinity, of the very Realms itself.
But he’ll also admit that it always meant that the child surprised him all the time. This just happened to be a startling surprise, and an admittedly amusing one, even if Danny was openly complaining about the situation.
“It’s not fair! You have to be able to fix this, right? Right?!” the ghostling, quite literally now, practically yanked at his cloak. “Clockwork, I was going to graduate, I can’t be two! Please, you’re the master of Time, you can fix this right!?”
No, no he could not, seeing as young Daniel was in fact, immune to timeline machinations, doubly so for his own. To the ghostling’s open distress, which he did his best to soothe. What he could do instead, was stop time in his home dimension, and instead let him age back up again.
Which the young halfa wasn’t happy about, but it was the best thing they had, so Clockwork supposed he had a ghostling now. A tiny adorable ghostling who kept pouting each time his much younger body had any sort of effect on his behavior.
He’d never exactly had a ghostling before, nevermind one who was part human, but he would admit he honestly was enjoying it. Most time was spent alone, something he hadn’t realized until Danny ended up crashing into his unlife.
Honestly he would openly admit that he absolutely adored his little ghostling. Who was now around four, at least physically, and had gotten into the adorable habit of curling up in the pendulum in his chest. Which was honestly the safest spot in Long Now, he’d admit.
The singular issue however, with this habit, was that when someone attempted to summon him, they got his ghostling as well. And well, normally he could very much control himself for these summonings that happened every few hundred or so years, but well. There was a reason why even the Observants had stopped popping in the moment they realized he had a ghostling.
Nesting ghosts do not mess around should they feel one is messing with their very vulnerable child, and really it’s not his fault the mortal cultists woke up and startled Danny. Perhaps deleting them from the timeline was a bit too far, if the other mortals rapid paling was to go by, but oh well.

Danny has been declared the Ghost King at Fifteen.
He hasn't been told this yet, but his self-proclaimed closest ghost friends, Johnny 13, Ember, and Kitty, have volunteered to not only tell him, but be his bodyguards.
They do not, in fact, tell him.
They instead make it a game of "Get down, Mr. President!" and dogpile him from perceived threats. Threats like the toaster. Or Dash Baxter. Or Mr. Lancer. A stray cat that walked out of an alley. A fight with Skulker.
A bird.
The worst bit is, even the GIW and his parents have stopped attacking those specific ghosts, because it's far more interesting that beings that mimic human behavior have picked up a childs game to mimic.
So he'll be home, at the kitchen, and with an almighty cry of "GET DOWN MR. PRESIDENT" one of the three ghosts will launch themselves over him dramatically.
There is not escape.
The security system in his house has been programmed to ignore them.
His parents love the opportunity to talk to a ghost, and are starting to go back on their "all ghosts are evil" thing.

DP X DC prompt: ~It's April 27~
Happy Death Day, Jason! or
How to Get a Medical Certificate of Death for employment.
~~~~~
Jason: Replacement,where’s my death certificate? In Infinite Realms they require it when applying for a job.
Tim: We..We burned it.
Jason: What the hell?!
Tim: Well, you broke your tombstone and it hurts to think about..so, you know, we thought you wouldn’t be happy to see it.
Jason: And what do you offer me now? I will not lie down again on the autopsy!
Tim: Well, actually..
~~~~~
Jason: Hey, Bruce, did you know that your close relatives might refuse traditional autopsy? *condemningly pointing to his autopsy scar*
Dick: It’s only possible if death was nonviolent, Little Wing. We’re sorry.
Jason: I don’t care! Call whoever you want but I need directions to virtopsia in an hour.
~~Meanwhile, Fenton Works~~
People may ignore the similarities between Fenton and Phantom but what about instrumental diagnostics?
~~In an hour, near the morgue~~
Danny: Where are my forensic results?
Doctor: Mr Fenton, your C.T.’s not ready yet, so wait outside.
Danny: I’m already dead! Should be afraid of too much ionization? All my molecules already got all rearranged.
Jason: Hey! It's my turn!
Danny: Sorry. the Ancients send me second time for expertise, damn bureaucrats.
Jason: Are you getting a job too?
Danny: Not by choice but by fate, unfortunately. What position are you applying for?
Jason: Royal Knight.
Danny: Ambitious. But you don’t look like a guy in armor or with a sword.
Jason: Kid, my guns will replace any weapon. Ask anyone in Crime Alley. What about you?
Danny: Well, take that piece of paper and don’t bring me your resume, you’re hired. Let me introduse myself. New King, Phantom. Don’t be late, work day starts at 7 a.m. I like black coffee, no sugar.
Jason: I’m not your secretary, asshole.
Danny: See you later.
~~the next morning.the dining room of Casper High~~
Red Hood: Your coffee, Your Majesty.*smiles*.
Danny: Did you spit in there? *drinks some*, *senses 15 spoons of sugar in 300 milliliters of drink*.
Danny: Ha! Reverse psychology works great. Jazz is right! *drinks it all in one gulp*
Red Hood: M-monster! Disgusting! On a level with Tim, I swear!
Danny: Why is it official? Just call me Danny. And who is Tim?
Jason: ..I’m not letting you people without taste buds meet, ever.
Danny: Too bad, it seems we have a lot in common.
