- The reason he sees you as a father figure- because whenever Enji would hit Rei you would stand in front of her and try to calm Enji down to de-escalate the situation. Then after Enji leaves the room you would be at Rei’s side treating her bruises and reassuring Shoto that she is going to be okay.

- How would he handle Enji firing you? He would be upset and angry at Enji for firing you and making you leave. He would react the same way when Rei burned his left eye with the kettle and Enji sent her away.

- How would she handle Enji firing you? She would miss you a lot, she’ll try and distract herself from the situation. She would also try and cheer Natsuo and Touya up (She would’ve tried and cheer up Shoto but he’s not allowed to be around the others due to that situation with Touya attacking Shoto)

- How would she react to seeing you years later? She would be shocked at first but she’ll be really happy to see you again because she missed you. She will approach you and ask if you recognized her and if you would like to come over and have dinner. She hopes that when you are reunited with the others maybe it will help everyone get along with each other.

- The reason he sees you as a father figure- because whenever Touya would keep him up at night to talk to him you would calm Touya down and convince him to settle down and go to sleep. It may have been a small gesture but he really appreciated it back then.

- How would he handle Enji firing you? At the time he would be sad about you getting fired but as time goes on and he gets older that sadness soon turns into anger and fueled his anger towards Enji.

- How would he react to seeing you years later? He would be shocked and will approach you almost immediately and talk to you about how you’ve been doing lately and what happened during the time you’ve been gone.

🔥Touya Todoroki🔥

- The reason he sees you as a father figure- because you always paid attention to him and would listen to him whenever he would rant about surpassing All Might. You would take care of his burns to try and prevent scarring instead of yelling at him. You did try to calmly convince him to stop using his Quirk because you knew it wasn’t good for him to keep burning his body.

- How would he handle Enji firing you? It would add way more fuel to the fire, now that you’re gone there’s no one that notices him, there’s no one who looks at him. By you getting fired that only makes the situation worse.

- How would he react to seeing you years later? He would be really surprised, he would attack you out of impulsiveness but once he fully realizes what he’s doing he’ll stop and let you go. If he’s with the League then he’ll tell them to not attack you.

🔥Enji Todoroki🔥

- How would he react to seeing you years later? He would be really stunned to the point where he can’t even come up with any words to say anything to you. He has been wondering lately if you were doing alright.

- How would he react whenever he realizes that his kids prefer you as a dad than him? He would be saddened by this but he will still continue to try and be a better person than what he was in the past and to make things right so that his family can be happy together.

This might be an odd question, but do you have any tips or preferences when it comes writing Natsuo? Asking for *ahem* reasons...

Ok well I guess like with all fanfic writing I use canon as a jumping point. He’s not exactly a flat character because the few moments he’s given imply a lot of depth, and it’s pretty fun to tease out that depth.

What we know from canon:

Out of all his siblings, Natsuo is the only one who appears to have a “normal” social life. He has a girlfriend who he presumably met during a university class, and he’s implied to prefer hanging out with her and his other friends instead of going back to visit his childhood home (much to Fuyumi’s annoyance lol). Based on his interactions with others he seems to be a sociable and friendly person (when Endeavor isn’t around to sour the mood at least). Personality-wise he also seems to be a confrontational person, in the sense that time and again he doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable conversations or topics- he prefers to air out all the grievances instead of letting them fester.

Currently, he and Fuyumi are the closest out of all the family members. They grew up together and they have the most normal sibling relationship out of everyone (the bar is on the ground tho aljsbd). In the scene where we first see them visiting Rei in the hospital together we also see them bantering and playfully poking at each other and he loves and respects her enough to put up with Endeavor for her sake.

It is no secret that Natsuo despises Endeavor—for being responsible for Touya’s death, for his treatment of Rei and Shouto and most likely also for the way he left Fuyumi as the responsible “adult” in charge of the home. The latter is implied from the way Natsuo spoke about how he tried to help her, ie with the cooking, but he was forced to stop when Endeavor complained about his cooking so it became Fuyumi’s responsibility again.

Then there’s all the trauma surrounding Touya, the way he feels like his brother wouldn’t have had to die (and become a villain) if only he’d listened to him when he needed it and maybe talked him out of some of his more extreme beliefs. It’s implied that he’s studying his current degree (medical welfare I think?) because of Touya, because he wants to help more people like his brother. There’s a lot of (irrational) guilt wrapped up in his feelings about Touya, but as seen in recent chapters he’s willing to put in the work and walk the long and difficult road to mend things between Touya and the rest of the family.

Now onto headcanon territory (most of which are extrapolated from canon):

I think that he has extremely low self esteem, due to the neglect he suffered while growing up. Not just from Endeavor, but from Rei too—here’s some thoughts I’ve already had about this, copy-pasted from the end AN of ch13 in WHFO:

I've always gotten the feeling that she and Natsuo were never particularly close, especially before she was hospitalised. Because he must've been what, 3 when she had to pass him over to be raised by the housekeeper while she completely shifted her focus to Shouto? Not to mention that his physical resemblance to Endeavor would've made it hard for her to even look at him, especially as her mental health spiralled. I just feel like Rei never really got much of a chance to get close to him the way she did with her other children, which is sad because that means Natsuo didn't have much of a relationship with either of his parents when he needed it most during his formative years faksjdlfs that is most definitely not going to have an impact on him at all, nope :)

Expanding on that I think he is also incredibly affection starved, and even as he strives to make a life for himself outside the family a part of him might always find it hard to accept praise or even just the idea that people would genuinely think he’s great to be around or good at things in general. Just you know, general symptoms of someone who had a childhood of emotional neglect.

Because of the whole thing with Rei I also think that he’s hyperaware of how much he physically resembles Endeavor. Does this mean he’s probably insecure about his looks as a result? Yes I do like to think so, especially for the Angst™️. It also doesn’t help that all of his other siblings look like their mum so he’s got that extra dose of feeling like the odd one out.

I also really like the headcanon that he inherited Endeavor’s short temper and general anger issues. Not only because that’s Angst Deluxe, but also because it would be interesting to explore how he grapples with it, and the internal conflict he feels about how scared he is of becoming like his father. This is why I love writing scenes where he’s arguing with his siblings or shouts at them only to watch them flinch because the psychic damage + self-loathing that would follow? Impeccable. Unparalleled. 👌

After the war, now that Touya was living back at the Todoroki estate, it had become some sort of tradition to hang out at the pool and have a barbecue. Natsuo was the one to come up with the idea and everyone had loved it. Well everyone but Touya. The eldest of the Todoroki siblings still felt out of place with his family and it was weird to have lunch with his brother's friends, who he had fought in the past. Despite keeping quiet and going along with it Touya would always sit in a corner, hiding away from the sun, and talk only when spoken to. His boyfriend was the complete opposite: he would chat with everyone and using his powerful wings he was always the first to dive into the pool. Hawks however noticed Touya's elusiveness. He would send a small feather to tug at his sleeve (bc yes he wore longsleeve tshirts even if the weather was melting hot) and keep him company. Hawks could feel Touya's anxiety but he wasn't sure of its cause.

Today Shouto had brought his whole class, even Eraser and Present Mic were there with his kids and coincidentally, Hawks thought, Touya "was sick" and "had to wear a mask as not to spread it." His suspicion was confirmed when his boyfriend got up to grab his drink and accidentaly colided with Eri, who was running arround, and promptly fell into the water. She had seen the scars and staples on his face and was a bit scared. His white tshirt was soaked and very seethrough at the moment. Everyone had turned to look at them and anxiety was written on Touya's face, who just bolted inside and locked himself in his room. Shouto tried to talk to him through the door but to no avail. Fuyumi and Natsuo tried as well but got the same silent treatment. It wasn't until he heard Eri's soft voice apologizing for freaking out.

"I have scars too" she whispered through the door. "They are not as big but I still don't like people staring at them so I'm sorry I made people stare at yours."

Touya slowly opened the door, wary of what he would find. He had changed into dry clothes with even longer sleeves and was wearing the mask.

"Are you sure I didn't scare you? They're big ugly scars." Eri frowned at the words.

"Dad says that scars are never ugly, that they make us beautiful because we survived bad things."

"I don't feel exactly pretty, just a freak" Touya admited, which earned him a hug from the little girl.

"Mr Hawks thinks you are pretty, he looks at you like papa looks at dad." And with that she ran back outside. Hawks feather floated out of his pocket and slowly slided down his cheek, as if saying with that caress that Eri was right.

"You will have to show me what you see in them, birdie" he whispered. "Can you come here? Don't want to be alone."

Hawks was there in a blink, holding him and wrapping his wings arround them.
