As you looked at all your things that were packed in your old apartment you remembered when Neil had asked you to move in with him. 

It was another day in the hospital, you and him were working on a patient in surgery. As you were stitching Neil just popped the question, being truly genuine. “So I was thinking, would you like to move to the next level and move in with me?” You were in shock. Your mouth hanging open at the thought that you and Neil would be with each other almost 24/7. You do love Neil and this is what you wanted, you wanted to move to the next level. You were just scared, scared that maybe it was heading too fast, that it was changing. Maybe change was good. With your hands coated in blood you made sure not to touch Neil’s face as you brought yourself to kiss him. “Of course I’ll move in with you. I love you.”

Neil gave you a look of adornment, searching your eyes. “Okay then its settled. I’ll help you move.” He gave you another quick kiss and smiled, his dimples showing. 

“Wow,” Audrey said as she cleaned herself since the surgery ended. 

“What?”

“I’m just surprised,” she shrugged. You felt odd talking to her about your relationship with Neil. You know that the two of them have history with each other and you didn’t want any harsh feelings. “Didn’t see this coming.”

“You and me both,” you laughed. “But I feel this is the right step. I do love him and do want to spend the rest of my life with him so I think we’re going in the right direction.”

Audrey nodded, “just make sure its what you want and its not going too fast for you.”

You smiled, the excitement overwhelming you as you stashed everything in boxes and taped it up. Calling Neil on the phone you tell him your done and you can tell he is equally as excited as you. He is really happy about this and that makes you feel overjoyed and it makes you feel you are doing the right thing.

“Well I’m coming over there now, talk to you later babe. Love you.” 

You chuckled and kissed the phone, “love you more.”

You waited for him and he did end up there at your house. You didn’t have a lot of items to move since you didn’t live in such an extravagant home. It was just a tiny apartment for all your necessities. As you loaded things into his car you felt the happiness and just the feeling like you were on top of the world. 

You wrapped your arms around Neil’s broad shoulders, “I con’t believe we’re doing this.”

Neil kissed your forehead, “I know, but I couldn’t be happier. I want to spend my life with you, I want to be with you. I’m just excited to have you in my arms when we sleep and for me to make you breakfast every morning.”

You giggled at that and so did he, “or well try to do it every morning.”

You hugged him and placed your head on his chest, “I know we’ll be happy. I can’t wait for all those things too.” You kissed his neck and gave him a beaming smile. “C’mon then, lets go to your house!”

“Our house.”

Leading him into the car, you hop right in,  “right, our house.”

You were in awe of his house. It was way more high tech and big than your tiny apartment. You were amazed about everything. Feeling like a princess or a queen you were humble and acknowledged that you didn’t deserve such nice things like this. But Neil came in and reassured you that you did deserve these things and that they belonged to you now as well. You felt you were rich, this was totally going to be a new experience. 

As you two cleaned the house and got set into emptying the boxes a song came on the radio that Neil loved. 

“Oh wow, an oldy.” He chuckled as he stood up and put his hand out to you. “Would you like to dance, my beautiful lady?”

You bit your lip and nodded, “I would love to dance, good sir.”

The song To Be Loved was on. You two slow danced in the empty space that soon would be filled with your things and his combined. Neil started to sing to you, “To be loved to be loved ohhhhh what a feeling to be loved.” He sang these lyrics to you, his eyes looking in your eyes. You smiled, the last part where it cuts a little for the music, Neil dips you. Your cheeks turning into a bright pink, being this close to him. He puts his hands on your soft cheeks and brings his lips to yours. You bring your hands to his hair and push him deeper to kiss you. Your lips move in sync like if they too were dancing. “I love you y/n.”

“I love you more.”

You two ordered pizza and drank wine as you were almost finished with unpacking. As you two were taking a break where Neil was watching tv while you made dessert you stared at all your items placed in their own rightful place. Your heart started to beat fast and you were starting to have a break down. Your autism was getting the better of you. You were starting to panic to not understand and in that moment reality set in. Your world to you was moving too fast, you were scared. Your cheeks started to flush and tears started to pour out of your eyes. Neil was not alarmed until you dropped a baking pan on the floor causing a loud noise.

Neil turned his head towards you, “hey babe what happened - hey, hey whats wrong?” He was deeply concerned, by your side in seconds. His strong arms wrapped themselves around you. You cried more into his chest, feeling embarrassed and a disappointment, a nuisance. “Its okay, talk to me. Whats wrong?” He looked at your face, wiping your tears away as he kissed both your cheeks. 

“I just feel maybe this is moving too fast.” You thought Neil would be irate with you but he was calm and understanding. He nodded, “alright, now when did you start to feel this?”

“Just now, I think I was having a panic attack or something.”

“Did you feel this way this morning?” You shook your head at his question. “No, I was happy, excited. I want this.”

“You just got scared for a minute there?”

You nodded as you bit your lips, “I want his more than anything Neil. I just, reality set in and terrified me.” Neil brought you into an embrace and kissed the top of your head. “Its okay to be scared, I get scared too. Change is sometimes terrifying, to not know whats going to happen. But sometimes in life, in order to live it, sometimes we need to take a leap of faith. I’m proud of you for doing this and for accomplishing something this huge, you should be proud of yourself too. Also, just because we’re living together doesn’t mean you have to do everything I do. I won’t force you to do anything, heck not even sleep in my bed. Its on your terms, whatever makes you feel comfortable.”

You felt so happy with Neil. For once you were in a relationship where someone understood, someone cared for you. He knew the hardships of being you, with autism, life was difficult sometimes but he knows how to get you through it. “If its alright with you,” you said your voice going back to normal and you being excited again. “I would like to sleep in your bed.” Your cheeks were red, feeling bashful to ask him this. Neil gave you a warm smile and kissed you, “of course baby.”

All the boxes got unpacked and you were finally moved in with him. It was a hard day but there were more good things then bad. You two ended up taking a shower together and watching a movie in his bed. 

Your head was on his chest, his arms wrapped around you. You cuddled with him as you made small patterns on his chest with your soft fingers. “Thanks babe, for all this.” You whispered to Neil as you gave small pecks to his neck. Neil smiled and kissed your hand, “no problem sweetheart, I’m happy you moved in. I can’t wait for our days together.”

“I know its gonna be great.”

Headcanon (or more of an AU): When they were residents, Lim, Marcus, and Melendez had the same dynamic as Claire, Jared, and Shaun with each taking up the same role as their present residents

Lim is the female voice of reason in their group but was still somehow more feral than the other two (also, I headcanon her being a transfer from Taiwan so there's a bit language barrier but later overcomes it)

Marcus is the crackhead of the group. Despite being the most uptight and mature in present days, he's Jared 2.0 but much more. His attending hate him for both being stubborn know-it-all and for being a feral crackhead

Melendez is the calm and cooler one of the group, sometimes acting as the more reserved and focused one, seeing how he came from a broken household. But when challenged, he would become Crackhead Resident 2 to everyone around him

Halloween, and the residents decided that since they couldn’t dress up like monsters or vampires, they’d dress up like the next best thing. Something that would actually be allowed at work. And at first, Melendez didn’t get it. They just showed up in suits— dressed to the nines, but nothing technically out of the ordinary for doctors.

But then he got it. And it didn’t take too long.

He had a suspicion when Jared snapped at Claire while she was talking to Shaun, doling out an irritated: “We don’t have time to waste gossiping all day.”

He nearly got it when Claire explained to Shaun, “No, I’m right and you’re wrong. So listen.”

But he definitely got it when Shaun said very plainly to Claire when she suggested getting lunch: “I don’t agree with that idea, and you should feel bad for announcing it in the first place. ...Even though it’s a very good idea.”

“Are you guys seriously doing this?” he finally burst. Jared and Claire cracked a smile. “It’s unprofessional, stop it,” he snapped. “I don’t need my residents making fun of me all day.”

“Yeah, Claire, stop,” Jared commanded, and she snorted. “We need to focus.”

“Jared!” Melendez yelled. “Stop.”

“You, me, and Andrews are going to have a talk after this,” Claire announced.

“Claire!”

“I won’t stand for insubordination!”

“Jared!”

They all started yelling at each other, a mess of irritated yells by Melendez and barely-held-back laughter from Jared and Claire, further impressions being sqwauked over his orders to stop. Shaun was mostly taking a backseat to the argument, ever the pacifist, until he jerked into the middle of everyone, waving his hands and shouting: “You’re all going on scutwork!”

Melendez just groaned and hit his head against the wall.

since we've seen shaun and glassman, do you have any headcannons for the others and their opinion on pancakes ???

YES

Okay, so first off, Claire absolutely loves pancakes.  She likes hers with berries inside and she likes her syrup to be berry flavored, too.  She sometimes has breakfast with Shaun and she’s convinced him to try her syrups instead of his typical maple.

Jared likes his pancakes slathered in whatever sweet stuff you can find.  He likes chocolate chips in the batter and whipped cream and chocolate syrup on top.  Anything that’s sweet can (and eventually will) be a topping.

Neil isn’t much of a pancake guy, but he really loves French toast.  Jared told him that French toast is just grown up pancakes, and that ended up with Neil lecturing Jared on how the ingredients of French toast and pancakes are completely different.

Morgan doesn’t like pancakes, French toast, or waffles and the team have often remarked on how that might be responsible for her outlook on life.

Alex eats pancakes but he never puts toppings of any kind on them.  Claire and Shaun both speculate he’s doing it just to look edgy.

The Good Doctor • Sacrifice Headcanon

Okay so I know that most of y’all think Shaun ran back to his bus, but I had this crazy idea that I had to share.

He went to his boss’s house in the middle of the night, frantically ringing the doorbell. Neil was still awake because he couldn’t sleep and opened the door.

Since he didn’t want Jessica to wake up, he took Shaun to his old flat so they could have a private conversation.

Shaun tells him all about how Dr. Glassman still treats him like a child and doesn’t let him make his own decisions. He also tells Neil about the janitor, who found him in the broom closet.

Naturally, Neil is worried since he has grown to respect the autistic doctor, so he lets him shower and stay the night at the flat.

The next day, he gets a call from Jared and finds out that Dr. Andrews fired him. Further digging leads him to find out Claire was harassed by Dr. Coyle.

Furious, he storms into Dr. Glassman’s office and demands explanations but is thrown out with a warning.

His team is falling apart. He’s distracted because Jessica has been distant and doesn’t want kids. Claire is the only one left because Jared is gone and Shaun is “missing”.

Neil goes back to his house and tells Jessica they should take a break. He then gets his stuff and moves in to his old apartment, allowing Shaun to stay with him.

They bond over the next few days while Neil attempts to find a solution for their problems.

He goes to Allegra Aoki and gives her an ultimatum. The hospital will lose its golden surgeon unless Dr. Coyle is fired, Jared comes back, Claire is to never work with sexist doctors again and Dr. Glassman has to leave Shaun alone.

Since they don’t want to lose him, she complies and Shaun keeps on being Neil’s roommate because he doesn’t want to go back to his flat.

Bonus (for Naire fans)

Neil confronts Dr. Coyle himself and tells him to leave Claire alone or he’ll wish he was never born.

She overhears and starts scolding him, but not as much as she did to Jared because she can’t really stay mad at him, and also because she thought protective Melendez was an amazing sight to see.

He tells her about Jessica and her advice of following his heart leads to him calling off his engagement.

Claire is overjoyed and cuts all romantic ties with Jared.

Oneshots can typically take me anywhere from 45 minutes to a few days. I never go below 1,000 words, and I have only gone up to 4,000, however, I plan to improve and go past that. Keep in mind that when requesting oneshots they will take me some time to do, especially if I’m busy.

Imagines don’t take me more than an hour usually. I keep them below 1,000 words, but typically they’re past 200 to 300 words long. When requesting these you can usually expect them to be done within in hour or so, unless I’m busy.

Drabbles

Drabbles take me less than 30 minutes. They’re short and always exactly 100 words. I’d usually finish this anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes.

Headcanons

Depending on the request, these may vary from a couple hours to a few days if I need ideas. I don’t have a word limit for these, however, usually they are over 7 bullet points long.

Preferences

Preferences are typically pretty quick for me to do depending on which fandom and how many characters you want. No word limit.

Aesthetics/Moodboards

Aesthetics/Moodboards are typically just a collage of photos for a character you want. It can be a character x reader collage, or even a specific character au that you want.

The way she looked at him. The feelings from their previous relationship still resonated in her soul. This amazing doctor wanted authority and love at the same time. 

You stared at her. The way she conducted herself you envied her. Envied her class, her maturity, the way she was with patients and staff. She was everything you wanted to be and more and sometimes you felt you weren’t good enough. Sometimes you felt being autistic made you unlikable or even worse unlovable and that sent you down a spiral of hatred for yourself. 

Dr. Audrey Lim. One of the best doctors in your opinion. Someone you looked up to. But this someone made your love happy. She made him smile. Knowing people have history, especially people you know makes things awkward and tense. It made you self conscious. You thought you were making mistakes left and right and one of those mistakes you came to was Dr. Neil Melendez being with you. You felt you were the mistake. 

Again for the millionth time that day Dr. Lim grazed Neil’s arm. It was soft and delicate, a touch a lover would give. It made you pause in checking a patient’s chart. Her grin, her hair, the way she knew she could get to Neil made you sick. Your breath got caught in your throat. Everything became worse in a second. As if you didn’t feel ashamed of your being now you felt insecure when it seemed to you Neil was flirting back. He accepted her touches! He laughed like they were the ones together.

You rubbed your arm sheepishly. Resisting the urge to cry. 

Dr. Park saw how you acted and placed a friendly hand on your back, “hey are you okay?”

You wanted nothing more than to be swallowed by the earth. Wanting to disappear you nodded, “I’m doing just fine.” You quickly dashed away, wiping your eyes locking yourself in a closet. “Why couldn’t I just be normal? Why can’t I be like all the other people? Why can’t I be her?” Your back slid down against the shelves and you formed into a little ball of sadness. But there was another emotion coming to play. Anger. You were appalled that he would do something like that. It was if he was breaking all the promises, as if Neil was lying to you. You felt things were truly over.

“Where’s y/n?” Neil asked as he unglued himself from Dr. Lim, his ex. “I thought I just saw her a few minutes ago?”

“I think you should go check up on her. See if she’s okay.” Dr. Park suggested. “When I talked to her she seemed out of it.”

“Sure. Do you happen to know where she is?”

Dr. Park gritted his teeth. He knew exactly where you were and why. “I have a feeling she’s in the closet...again.”

Neil became worried and quickly came to you. He opened the closet door and saw you sitting on the floor, crying. 

“Baby, whats wrong? What happened?”

You laughed, “what happened? Are you that dense? I saw the way you were looking at her.”

Neil looked confused. “I don’t know what you mean.”

You stood up and wiped your eyes with your sleeves. “Dr. Audrey Lim. You and her had a thing in the past and she was making moves on you. And the funny thing is you let her. You let her touch you.”

“No I didn’t-”

“Oh my God, yes you did! I saw you! You can’t deny it!”

“Why are you yelling? Why are you getting so mad? Can’t we talk about this like grown ups?”

You ignored his pleas, “Grownups? Yeah, what you pulled back there was real mature, Neil. You know I’m distant, I’m broken, I have my things. I have autism. Some things are different for me. You said we were going to do this together. You said you loved me. And then you go off and flirt with your ex! This is not cool.” You tried walking away. 

“Look what you saw back there, I don’t know. But I do know I have no feelings for Dr. Lim. That was a thing of the past.”

“But I saw you, Neil! I saw the way she looked at you and the way you looked at her! That connection is still there and I don’t know if it will ever go away! I’m hurt, and yeah sure I’m jealous! I’m jealous of her looks, her style, how she does her job, her connections, her mental state, her house, everything. I’m jealous of her because she still has you under her thumb and can make you go weak. I’m jealous that she can make you smile so big. Okay!” You argued to him. 

Neil wrapped you in his arms. “There is no need for you to be jealous of her. She is just a friend. I’m sorry I hurt, I’m sorry I made you feel uncomfortable because you don’t deserve that. I meant everything that I said and I want to be with you and only you. What Dr. Lim meant to me in the past has changed now, I’ve changed. You’ve made me enjoy life, you made me smile. Just you walking in the room makes my day better. The truth is I can’t live without you princess. No matter what you think. I love you.” He caressed your cheek. 

You teared up once more, not used to the validation and love that he was giving you. You always felt not good enough. It’s always smart to voice your opinion and how you felt, to speak the truth and be honest. 

“I love you baby,” you kissed Neil’s knuckles. 

Neil inched closer to you to greet your lips in a kiss, away from prying, judging eyes.

What social media platform do you feel like each of the TGD characters would be most attached to?

Claire is addicted to Pinterest. She can get on there, blink, and lose three consecutive hours of her life. Lea is obsessed with Snapchat– one of her favorite things to do is to take selfies with Shaun and test out all the filters. Shaun, of course, puts up with this because he is a saint. Jared loves Twitter, mostly because he likes to tweet friends obscure memes. Claire had to turn her notifications off because he kept bothering her so much. He’s on thin ice, close to being straight up blocked. 

Shaun isn’t really on anything too much; he has accounts, but he’d rather spend his time studying or being with friends than spend it staring at a screen. Melendez isn’t on social media too much either. He has a Facebook, and that’s what he spends the most time on. Most of his photos are of him and Jessica. Currently, he’s trying to decide whether or not to keep them.

For Teacher Appreciation Day, Shaun brought Melendez an apple. Naturally, he tried to play his student’s gesture off by dryly commenting: “I’m surprised you could get it all the way here without eating it yourself.” He hesitated before he added: “We’re not in elementary school, Shaun; you didn’t have to bring me a present.”

Shaun wasn’t disheartened. “I didn’t know what you would like as a gift,” he said. “But I know that I appreciate you as an instructor, and I am grateful to you for giving me a chance when at first you didn’t want to. So I wanted to give you something anyway. To say thank you.”

Melendez was stunned; he wasn’t sure what to say. He just stared at him in a little bit of surprise. Shaun didn’t really need a response, though, and Claire was calling him for help with something. So he just nodded once and turned, leaving without another word.

His back was to Melendez, so he didn’t see the smile that gradually wormed itself over his attending’s face.

The surgical team at St. Bonaventure has, what they affectionately call, The List. The List is on each of their phones, and it is a list of every single topic that they absolutely cannot, should not, and will not bring up during work hours. This was implemented after Claire and Jared spent fifteen minutes arguing about whether or not some actor deserved some award for some tv show. Melendez was so sick of hearing about it that he banned them from talking about it anymore. And before too long he began to ban more things that were distracting, and it got to be so many that they all had to keep track of it in their notes. And every time someone says or does something against The List, they’re immediately shut down, usually by Shaun, who responds to their breach by shoving his phone in their face.

It’s an expansive list that goes on and on. Claire can’t talk about the newest episode of The Bachelor on Tuesdays, and it’s forbidden to ask whether a hotdog is a sandwich or a taco because that had sparked a five minute controversy. Jared isn’t allowed to sing the Wherenberg theme song because he sings it wrong, and it annoys both Melendez and Shaun to no end. It’s on The List that Shaun can’t call Melendez arrogant anymore, but he still does anyway, so it’s kind of pointless. But it’s just as fair, because Shaun had asked if they could put ‘Melendez can’t be rude or grumpy to his students’ on The List and it had been vetoed.
