my spore druid’s guardian taking the burned form of her girlfriend that died in a fire at their grove and she tried unsuccessfully to necromance back to life so it’s feeding into everything she wanted and a part of her thinks that maybe her attempt was successful on some other plane euhehuhuhuhu

Honestly an important part of Roan and Yarrow is that. Yarrow is...a better father than Roan. Yarrow's love is by far the most important part of his character and he has it in spades for his daughter. But the important part is that he shows it *relentlessly*. Hope never questions her place in his heart, even as she questions her place in the world.
Now Roan also loves his son, not saying he doesn't. But... his own problems have left him a bit reserved in it. His son never wanted for anything but as a traumatized boy, he needed the reassurances that Roan was too exhausted emotionally to give him. I want them to reconcile but... Roan, as wonderful with kids as he is, he failed his son growing up. It's not his fault, up to a point.

Yarrow - they/them - nightblade
After fleeing from their past life, a life they don't wish to remember as they carved it out long ago, Yarrow found themselves on the streets of Kvatch, Cyrodiil, being apprehended by the imperial guard for crimes they didn't commit. They were in prison for not even a day, as they were taken to travel to the east - you know where.
Yarrow chose their name, as who they used to be is dead, cut out, perhaps even burned away. They possess some proficiency with knives, illusions, and being very quiet, perhaps borrowed from the poor soul they were before.
While not exactly eager to serve the empire, they see it as their only way to figure out what's going on, both to themselves and the world around them. (I forgot to install nationalist nerevarine and I'm already a bit too far in to restart, so.)

I explained this to a friend the other day but. Yarrow and Roan...don't work as the view point characters. They know too much about their stories, they have little to nothing to learn. Roan has no drive to move forward and change anything in his life, there's very little to motivate him. And Yarrow... Yarrow is just too much to carry a narrative. That's why most of my writing with him also features Roan. He's unbalanced and I imagine reading from his point of view could get exhausting without the right person to play off of.
They need someone outside to really look at things and move around all of it. They're the main characters but the narrative isn't theirs.
