The Field Trip, Part 1
Peter and Ned: (doing homework in Peter's room)
Peter: (sighs)
Ned: What are you afraid of? Just ask him! Isn't he acting like a helicopter parent anyway? I'm sure he won't mind.
Peter: I don't know Ned. What if he only comes because he feels like he has to? I don't want him to do it just out of obligation. I don't want to force things on him. He isn't-
(Door opens. Tony's head pops in)
Tony: Hey kids. You alright? What's going on?
Peter: (blushes)
Peter: Nothing Mr. Stark!
Tony: (frowns)
Tony: You sure buddy? Doesn't sound like it from here.
Peter: (looks at Ned)
Ned: (chirps brightly)
Ned: Everything's good Mr. Stark.
Tony: (looks doubtful but nods anyway)
Tony: U-huh. Sure Ted. Anyway, I have a dinner meeting so I'm going now. But I already asked Fri to order you pizza. Just pick it up when it arrives.
Peter & Ned: Thanks Mr. Stark!
Tony: And Underoos, you know how to reach me if anything happens. And by that, I mean absolutely anything. You need me, you call. Got it?
Peter: (nods and smiles)
Peter: Ye-yes. Thank you Mr. Stark.
Tony: (nods and closes the door)
.
.
(on his way down)
Tony: Fri, what's that about?
Friday: It seems that Young Master Peter's school has a fieldtrip that requires an adult supervision, boss. He and young Mr. Leeds are debating on whether young master should ask you to go with him.
Tony: (blinks)
Tony: Huh.
Tony: And when is this happening?
Friday: It's this Tuesday, boss. Full day.
Tony: (nods and checks on his calendar)
Tony: Alright. Tell Pep to free up my schedule for that day. Anything urgent happening, send them to me now so I can finish. And call Peter's school to tell them I'm coming to chaperone and to keep it a surprise from the kid. Oh, and keep Aunt Hottie informed. No need to get another scolding for this one.
Friday: On it boss.
Tony: (suddenly halts from walking)
Tony: But what's keeping the kid from asking me?
Friday: If I may boss, it is very likely that young master doesn't want to burden you with his extracurricular. He feels you're spending too much time on him as it is.
Tony: (shaking his head)
Tony: That kid. Yeah, I get that, I guess. Looks like something we need to talk about.
Tony: Well, send a message to the Avengers groupchat. Tell them I'm unavailable for mission on Tues and not to miss me too much.
Friday: And if they ask what's keeping you boss?
Tony: (smirks and puts on sunglasses before getting on his car)
Tony: Tell them I've got something more important on sched.
To be continued...

Part 1
Part 2
P.S. Peter is an adult!
This chapter turned out to be shorter, but it's still pretty eventful. Hope you're going to like it <3
___________
"But what... what if he won't like me? What if he'll take me away?" You sobbed, panic taking over you as you imagined Tony Stark pressing a gun to your forehead.
"No, he'd never do that." Peter left a little kiss behind your ear. "Mr. Stark doesn't take the gifts he's made back. You don't have to be afraid of that."
You sniffed at his words. That's what you were now. A gift. A possession. A pet whose job was keeping its master happy. You had to be grateful you were given to someone like Peter, at least. You didn't know whether he would always treat you kindly, but as of now he had never threatened to hurt you. You could only pray for him to fancy you so he wouldn't throw you away like some garbage - apparently, Tony Stark treated his women exactly like that.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up in the first place. Of course, you got upset." Peter cuddled with you some more, but you weren't sure whether he was being sincere. Wasn't he sending you a clear message?
Don't go against me or you'll end just like her.
"Oh, I have an idea. Let's go out! Do you wanna see the movie or something?"
You did your best to wipe away your tears and stared at the boy, perplexed. "What?"
"We have a nice little cinema not far from here. We could go right now, just let me check what they've having today."
"But didn't you say I can't leave this place?"
"I meant without me." He showed you the same smug smirk Stark was wearing all the time, and you lowered your gaze to Peter's chest instead. "With me close you can go wherever you want to."
Funny thing to say. In thruth, you could go wherever he wanted to take you.
"Wow, they're having Beyond Darkness in 30 min! We gotta go, you'll loooove this."
"Sure."
In five minutes you were already hurrying after Peter and trying to look nowhere but your shoes. Regardless of what was there in Stark's Tower, you didn't want to see it, not even mentioning all those guys with guns scattered across the building. Peter was saying his hello to each and every one of them as if he were some mafia's social butterfly.
Whatever. You knew Peter was Tony's favorite not because he had a pretty face. You had never particularly asked what his role in all this was, but it was obviously something way bigger than running errands for the gang. Maybe it was better to never figure it out.
"Hey girl, wanna have fun?" Somebody to your left asked you, and you flinched involuntarily, keeping your head low.
Peter stopped in the very same second and sent the stranger a hard look.
"Mike, you offer my girl drugs one more time and I'm gonna shoot your cute little brother in the leg, you hear me?"
You raised your eyes to Peter's smiling face and regretted it immediately. There was something so dark in his gaze you wanted to turn around and run until you were back to your room, hiding somewhere in the corner.
"Shit! Sorry, Spidey!" The guy's high-pitched voice sounded frightened. "Didn't know you got a girl!"
"Yeah, yeah, see you later, we're kind of busy now." Peter grabbed your hand and pulled you away, heading to the exit. "I forgot to mention before that we don't do drugs. At all. They're good for business, but not for us, ok, Baby?"
"Yes, Peter." You answered and kept chewing your lips, thinking of all the things he had just said. You suspected him to be more ruthless when you weren't around, but never to such extent. How damn scary was real Peter Parker?
"And don't worry, I'd never shoot his brother in whatever part of his body." The boy said it like it was something obvious and you didn't even need to pay attention to it.
Why then did that guy look completely horrified?
When you had finally stepped outside and felt the wind playing with your hair you were ready to cry. Just walking out of the Tower was a fucking torture.
It was already dark, and you pulled the zipper on your pretty blue jacket up, going almost shoulder to shoulder with Peter. Normally you'd be at least a little scared to walk the streets of a big city at night, but the guy your mother had warned you about was already holding your hand.
The place the boy brought you to was truly small but cozy with nice vintage red seats, the delicious smell of caramel popcorn spreading everywhere. It turned out that the movie was something in between Star Wars and Star Trek, which wasn't surprising because Peter was a sucker for anything related to sci-fi. Anyway, it wasn't bad and you actually enjoyed watching it. The movie helped you to keep your mind off your earlier encounter with the drug trafficker and the words Peter said.
The only way to live like that and stay sane was to turn a blind eye to anything that happened around, you thought. It was cowardly and revolting, but what could you do against one of the most, if not the most, dangerous gangs in New York? Surely, even if by some miracle you could flee the Tower and go to police, would they really be willing to help you? No, they would return you to Mr. Stark. You were a hundred percent sure he got it covered.
"Are you feeling tired, Baby?"
You snapped out of your thoughts and looked at Peter who smiled at you so lovingly it could make any girl cry.
"Just a little bit."
"Want me to give you a massage when we gonna get home?" His expression quickly turned devious, and he winked at you.
Yeah, great, now you'd have him fucking you before your knees were giving out. The kid had such stamina he could be an Olympic athlete, no less.
"Aw, I love when you blush like that." Chuckling, he put his arm around your shoulders and inched closer to give you a quick peck on the lips. You forced youself to enjoy his little signs of affection and start thinking you ought to be thankful he wasn't into heavy BDSM practices or something like that.
While you two were kissing again, you heard someone's loud footsteps as if this person just jumped out of the corner, and then there was a hateful outburst, "Stay were you are. Your wallets, quick!"
You froze, your hands getting cold as you stared at the face of a guy standing in front of you with a knife in his hands. He was clearly unstable, sick - you could see the dark circles around his eyes, the unhealthy color of his skin, and his greasy hair sticking to his forehead. You didn't know what was wrong with him, but he was twice bigger than Peter. The guy would probably have no problem with slicing both him and you into pieces if you didn't comply.
"I said g-"
"You gotta be fucking kidding me." Peter let out a frustrated sigh before you heard the loud sound of the gun firing.
There was a little black hole in the guy's chest, blood seeping through his dirty white t-shirt and coloring it in a beautiful deep ruby color. You could see the confusion in the eyes of the stranger, his mouth half-open. Slowly, he went down before his legs gave out and he landed at the ground with a loud thud. He didn't move after that.
"Come on, attacking a couple of high shoolers? You're such a psycho, man. Who were you gonna go after us? Kids?" Peter rolled his eyes and hid the gun under his bomber, turning away from the man he murdered and shouting to someone behind him. "It's ok, people! It's just me, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! Calm down, go home, it's late!"
You were still staring at the large pool of blood spreading beneath the body of a stranger - lack of light made it look like it was an odd black liquid. Before you could take your eyes elsewhere, you felt bile quickly going up your throat and vomitted, moving to lean your hand on the wall of a building. He killed him. Peter killed him. You didn't even see him pulling out the gun.
"Oh Baby, I'm so sorry." The boy gently held back your hair when you threw up again, feeling scared, disgusted, feverish and cold at the same time. "That's why I don't like drugs and what they do to people. That shithead lost his mind, you see? No sane guy would ever jump on me or my girl like that."
Despite him being so tender, you couldn't even turn your head to look at him as you started shaking from his touch.
You kept emptying your stomach a few more minutes before Peter softly wiped your mouth with his handkerchief and took your arm, walking you back to the Tower and saying all those unnecessary things about how terrible some people are and how everyone has to take care in the dangerous world they're living in. You didn't hear half of that, but you cared little for his chattering.
Peter had shot the man without showing even the slightest regret. He'd shoot you the same way if you ever turned against him - he was Stark's favourite, after all.

Irreplaceable
A year ago, kids that still had their parents used to tease her that she didn't have her mom or her brothers. They asked her why only her dad and Uncle Happy picked her up from school and when she told them that part of her family was snapped out of existence, they laughed. Now that everything was fixed though, they teased her for something different. For the fact that Diana called Stephen 'Mommy' when he first picked her up from school after the snap. He didn't hear the kids, and they were a little relentless when they got the chance. Diana chose to ignore it, but every day it chipped at her little by little, until their taunts finally got to her.
She could so easily use her magic to humiliate them so they would leave her alone and stop reason her, but she made a promise not to use magic at school. To use it like she was tempted to. Instead she continued to ignore her bullies and sat next to the stairs outside the building while she waited to be picked up. Diana sits on the ground and buries her face into her knees when she pulls them to her chest and waits quietly for the next few minutes.
She was both relieved and upset that the one who crouched in front of her was Sam instead of Stephen.
"There you are." He grabs her backpack sitting on the ground beside her. "Do I need to go inside and talk to someone? Did someone hurt you?"
Diana shakes her head. "I want to go home."
Sam looks at her thoughtfully. "You look like you could use a pick-me-up. Want to go get ice cream before we head home?"
Diana nods and Sam stands up with her backpack in one hand, and takes one of her hands in his other after he sends a text to Friday. He let her know that they would be home a little later, and she would relay the message to either Tony or Stephen when they were available. It was a new function of hers that Tony installed in case the parents were too busy to answer their phones and anything regarding the kids or the team wasn't an emergency. Like now.
Sam walks Diana to his car and as soon as she's safely buckled in, he takes her to everyone's favorite ice cream shop. There, Dia picked out her favorite flavors, one scoop of rocky road and one scoop of cookies and cream, and sat at the table with Sam who was eating his own double scoop of ice cream. The man didn't say anything until the little girl was halfway through her ice cream and visibly looking a little happier.
"Hey kiddo...what happened at school today?" Sam asks gently and holds back a wince when Diana frowns at the reminder.
"Nothing. It's okay."
"You can't follow nothing when an okay. That kind of cancels it out."
Diana pouts and eats a couple more spoonfuls of ice cream. "Some of my classmates make fun of me." She finally mumbles.
"For what?"
"Mommy."
Sam watches her quietly when she goes back to shoveling ice cream into her mouth and finishes his own as he collects his thoughts. Diana didn't know that though. She thought her Uncle Sam simply didn't know what to say to her admission, but just as she finished her last bite of ice cream, he taps the table to get her attention.
"Because he's a man?" Sam asks to continue the earlier conversation.
"...yeah."
"Does it really matter what they think?" Diana scrunches her eyebrows together. "Your brothers call him Mom, we call him Mom...and he's not even really our mom. But he is Mom to you, your sister, and your brothers."
"They still make fun of me." Diana whispers and Sam smirks.
"That's because they don't know he does everything their moms do. Who takes care of you when you're sick?" Sam asks.
"Mommy and Daddy."
"But mostly your mom right?" Diana nods in reply to his question. "He takes care of you whenever you get hurt, cuddles you, helps you practice your magic, makes sure you get a balanced meal...all that and more. So what if he's a guy? He's probably the best mom there is." Sam smiles and reaches over to ruffle her hair fondly.
"Hey!" Diana complains.
"Just remember that he kicks more ass than all their moms put together. Stephen loves you. It shouldn't matter what those kids say. To be honest, they're probably just jealous."
That was all it took to make Diana feel better. Sam was right. Her mom was the best mom whether he was a man or not, and he wasn't any different from the other kids moms besides the obvious. If Stephen had found out what the kids were saying, he would probably talk to their parents or maybe even tell Dia exactly what Sam just did. It was very similar to what Stephen taught her not too long ago when Harley got hit by the car.
You are what you make of yourself.
Or in this case, what Dia thought Stephen was. He was her mom and she shouldn't have let those kids get to her. She loved Stephen with all her heart and wouldn't trade him for a girl mom even if her life depended on it.
"Feeling better now?" Sam asks and Diana nods.
"Thank you Uncle Sam. For the ice cream too."
"Sure thing kid. Don't be afraid to tell anyone if something is bothering you alright? We're all here for you."
Dia gets down from her chair as Sam gathers their garbage, and takes his hand after he throws everything in the garbage by the door. They walk out of the shop and to Sam's car, get themselves in and buckled, and he drives back to the tower as Diana tells him about the better part of her day. How she aced the pre-spelling test so she didn't have to take it at the end of the week, how she got to play on the swings at recess, and today was chicken nugget day…
Sam responded to it all too. Not with just the typical 'uh-huh' she sometimes got from her Uncle Happy, but actually asked her what kind of words were on her test. How high she went on the swings. The adults always listened to her while she spoke, but not usually like this. Sam really was making her day a lot better. He made it even better when he was helping her out of the car and then crouched down in front of her after grabbing her backpack with an impish grin.
"I've got something in mind. You up for a little test?"
Diana pouts. Another test? She already had a test today. "What kind of test?"
"A fun one. I promise." Sam stands and takes her over to the elevator and the doors close when they step on. "Your mom should be home. I offered to pick you up because I was already out and about...but anyway, when you see him...call him Daddy."
Diana purses her lips. "That's weird. Why?"
Sam chuckles. "You'll see. No snitching Friday."
"Not a word from me." The AI promises.
Diana had no idea why Sam was asking her to call her mom 'Daddy', but she figured she would do what he asked. When the elevator stopped at the penthouse, she and Sam stepped off and found the sorcerer in the kitchen and feeding her baby sister from one of her jars of pureed food.
"Daddy?"
Boy, did that feel wrong coming out of her mouth when she wasn't trying to get Tony's attention. Stephen didn't respond to it though. He just continued to feed Valerie, even when Diana repeated herself, and Sam leaned down to whisper to her. Now go back to calling him Mommy, he had said.
"Mommy?" Diana tries and the reaction was instantaneous. Stephen looked up from his current task and over to her.
"Yes?"
"Uh...I'm home." She replies lamely.
"I see that. Did you thank Uncle Sam?" The sorcerer asks calmly.
"Oh!" Diana looks up at Sam. "Thank you for picking me up from school!"
"You're welcome." He hands her her backpack and whispers again. "See? He only responded to Mommy. If that doesn't make him a mom, I don't know what does."
Diana smiles and hugs his leg as a silent thank you, and walks over to Stephen when Sam disappears back onto the elevator. She crawls onto his lap while ducking under his arm, and watches him feed Valerie, who had some of her pureed fruit blend dribbling down her chin. Diana took it upon herself to gently wipe it away with the big her sister was wearing, and giggles when Valerie endlessly starts saying Mama.
It was her favorite word of the very few she knew.
"So I hear Uncle Sam took you out for ice cream. Did you thank him for that too?" Stephen wonders as he gives another spoonful of mush to the baby.
"Yup! Where are Daddy and Harley and Peter?"
"Daddy is down in the lab, Peter had decathlon practice, and Harley...I honestly don't know and probably don't want to. There hasn't been an alert, so whatever he's doing, he's not in danger."
Diana giggles and crawls back off of Stephen's lap to go start her homework at the coffee table, and about five minutes after she starts, she hears Stephen cleaning up. He momentarily brought Valerie into the living room to put her in the playpen, and kindly asked Diana to keep an eye on her while he started dinner. She replies with an okay, before suddenly reaching out and wrapping her arms around her mother's leg when he walks past her again, and he looks down at her curiously.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothin'...just wanted to tell you I love you Mommy."
Stephens features soften and he smiles after crouching down and kissing the top of her head. "I love you too."
Diana practically beams when he returns the affection, and allows him to walk back to the kitchen so he makes dinner. Once she finishes her homework, she looks over to the playpen, finds her baby sister still awake, and gets up to walk over and climb in. Every once in a while, Diana would do this and play with Valerie, and the baby always ended up laughing hysterically whether it was because the older girl tickled her or made the teddy bear move in funny ways. Even funny faces made the baby laugh sometimes if she was in a really good mood.
Mom must have fed her her favorite fruit mush.
The hysterical laughter died down when Diana grabbed a nearby book to read to Valerie, and the baby settled against her teddy bear with her thumb in her mouth. Halfway through the book, Valerie was fast asleep and Harley had stepped off the elevator, greeting Stephen before walking into the living room. Once he sees the girls in the playpen, he smirks and walks over, leaning over to carefully pick up Diana and take her out of it.
"Aren't you a little too old for playpens?"
"I was reading to Val." Diana informs him.
"You successfully bored her to sleep." Harley says and Diana glares up at him before hitting his leg.
She knew he was joking, but she wouldn't pass up the chance to hit him anyway. Harley played along with an overdramatic 'ow' and fell to the floor, where Diana took the chance to jump on him and start to wrestle with him. It was one of the other things she did with her siblings. She played with Valerie, play fought with Harley, and played with Peter's webs. At the moment, she was sitting on her oldest brother's back and holding his arm behind him. Surprisingly their rough housing didn't disturb Valerie in the least, but she was used to the noise.
"Take it back you big troll!" Diana demands.
"Never! I'll take it with me to my grave!" Harley retorts and the little girl pulls on his arm just a little more.
"You've given me no choice!" She levitates one of Valerie's toys over (the one with the most baby drool on it) and uses her magic to hold it up to his face. "Take it back or I'll let the drool fall on you!"
"Magic is cheating!" Harley howls.
"No it's not! You're bigger than me!"
"She has a point." Stephen says from the kitchen.
"You stay out of this Mom! Nobody likes favoritism!"
Stephen chuckles as a response and Diana moves the drool covered toy closer.
"Now take it back!"
"Okay okay!" Harley relents. "You didn't bore Val to sleep! Please get that away from my face."
"You know you could have easily overpowered her and escaped even when she was using magic right?" Tony asks.
Both kids look up after Dia tosses the toy aside, and fund Tony looking at them with a tablet in one hand and an eyebrow raised. He must have gotten upstairs just long enough ago to have seen most or all of their feigned argument.
"Duh." Harley responds as he sits up, and Diana wraps her arms around his shoulders to stay on his back after releasing his arm and he stands.
"Why didn't you?"
"Because then it's no fun." The teen answers.
"Tony, our children are hellions." Stephen snorts.
"They get that from you." The engineer retorts.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night, love."
Diana could hear Stephen's smirk, even if she couldn't see it.
Harley scoffs. "You're both to blame."
