The Loud House Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
Note: I am only uploading the first chapter here and the rest will be on A03
Summary: Natasha and Reader are happily married with a family that rivals the Brady bunch. Both moms have to adjust to married life with six children, a new space, parents living with them, and teenage woes - based on the family from It’s Christmas
A road trip can make or break even the strongest of relationships. For you and Natasha, it certainly tested the limits. Five children, one car, and ten hours of road ahead of you were daunting in the beginning. Two of the children were barely potty trained - one of them being in diapers the entire time. Another decided that she couldn’t hold her bladder for more than three hours at a time. A teen who wanted to take selfies at every single rest stop and a five-year-old who wanted to interact with truck drivers. It tested your patience more often than not. Surprisingly those were the good times. Ten hours on the road turned into sixteen. Still, you didn’t complain. It’s the first time in weeks you’ve all been together this long. As you look at Natasha, noticing her eyes light up, you realize how good this will be for your family. You think about how good it’s been so far. Neither of you was on a time crunch and seeing the excitement on your children’s faces was like no other.
Your first road trip as a family and you’d made it. You’re just entering Cincinnati, Ohio and you’re beginning a new life.
“Oh, look, it’s the first of many signs,” Cara turns her phone out towards the street. She presses it against the window, whispering to herself about being in “Bumfuck, Ohio.”
“Hey!’ You scold her from two rows up. “There are little ears back there.”
“I’m sorry,” She says sheepishly. She lowers her phone, no doubt talking to one of her friends, as she continues to describe what she sees.
“Why are we in Bumfuck?” Charlie casually repeats what her older sister said. “I thought we're going to Cicin-canti?” She wonders aloud.
“Language,” Natasha sighs. The silence of the car ride is seemingly broken. They’re getting restless and so are you. “We are moving to Cincinnati.”
“Same place,” Cara mutters. She raises her hand in mock surrender when Natasha turns to look at her. “I’m just saying it doesn’t look too exciting.”
“Well, it can be.” You stop at a traffic light. In your rearview mirror, you can see Melina, Natasha’s mother, trailing behind you in Natasha’s Audi S8. A car she barely trusted the woman to take. After a lot of convincing and kissing, Natasha agreed to let her mother drive it. “Stay positive. It might do you some good right now.”
The car ride continues in silence. You pull onto your street, searching for the familiar address, driving by houses that are larger than life. A bit larger than you’re used to that’s for sure. Children are playing in the street, Charlie presses her face against the window to watch them as you continue past at a leisurely pace. The grass is green here. Full yards. Empty pathways. Everything was entirely different from the hustle and bustle of New York City.
Finally, you pull up to the driveway of your home. You can hear gasps, and even a whine from behind you, as you put the car in park. You unbuckle your seatbelt, flashing Natasha a smile, as you both exit the car. The engine of the 2018 GMC Acadia goes dead. You make sure to pocket the keys.
You look around. The moving truck should have been here by now. You open one side of the car door simultaneously like Natasha. She takes one child out of their seat, while you take another. Paige stretches her little legs and body as soon as you set her onto solid ground. Luke, your six-month-old son, whimpers in Natasha’s arms as he awakens.
Melina parks next to you and rushes to exit so she can help.
“Oh, this is a beautiful place,” She smiles widely as she greets you.
“Yeah, Mommy, it’s huge!” James matches her smile as he looks up at the house.
“How much did something like this cost?” Alexei, Natasha’s father, asks in deep interest. He’s already inspecting the street and the other houses surrounding yours.
“2.1” You answer easily. You help Charlie and Cara out of the car next. Everyone needs fresh air and room to breathe. You brush down Charlie’s hair as everyone turns to view their surroundings.
“2.1? What is this 2.1?” Alexei tilts his head in interest. You sometimes forget he’s not American and wouldn’t always understand what you’re saying. Though you think he’s a bit in denial.
“2 million dollars, Deda,” Cara answers for him as she snaps pictures of her new home.
“Two million dollars?” Alexei chokes on his words. He grunts when Melina tells him to be quiet but he still can’t believe it. “You know what I can do with two million dollars? Where do you even get that kind of ?”
“Alexei,” Natasha steps around the car. She bounces a whimpering and sleepy Luke in her arms. “You and Melina are staying here because we want you to grow with the kids and we want them to know you. Please, just, not now.” She begs. She pats Luke’s back soothingly as he brings his fingers into his mouth to suck on them. He gives a gummy smile when Charlie begins to play peek-a-boo with him.
“I know the movers are supposed to be here,” You shake your head. You take your phone out of your pocket to view the time. “Like an hour ago. I have the keys so we can let ourselves in for now. Maybe take in what we have in the cars?” You suggest. Natasha nods. She’s thankful for a distraction.
“I have to pee!” James announces. “It’s urgent.” He says quickly as he crosses one leg over the other. You jump to cradle him in your arms, football style, as you race with him to the front door. You quickly unlock it before rushing through the house to the very first bathroom.
You help him to unbutton his jeans and get the toilet seat up. The rest he can do on his own. You go to stand outside of the bathroom in case he gets lost. You can hear the tinkle of pee and James stretching to flush the toilet.
“This house is big,” He says from behind the closed door. “ I like it, Mommy.” He opens the bathroom door with both hands. He peeks his head up at you. “There’s no soap.”
“Thank you for telling me,” You tap his nose. “I have sanitizer in the car for now,” You gesture back outside. “I can give you some of that and once we have all of our stuff we can clean them real good. How’s that sound?”
“Like a plan,” James grins before buttoning his pants. He runs past you to meet the rest of the family at the front door.
“Wow!” Charlie steps inside first followed by everyone else.
“It’s so big right, Charlie?” James looks for his sister’s approval. Charlie nods as her eyes try to take everything in.
It is a pretty big house. Seven bedrooms. Nine bathrooms. Ten thousand square feet. More than enough room for all of you.
Cara is the last kid to step in, her face too engrossed in her cell phone, to take everything in. You walk over to her, a polite tap on her arm, she looks up at you with questioning eyes.
“Can you put that away for a second?” You ask. She obliges though she isn’t too happy about it.
“Yes?” She says exasperatedly.
“How are you feeling?” You wave your hand to the foyer. She looks at the first two rooms. The one on her left is a study, for you, the one on the right, is a dining room.
“It looks good so far,” She shrugs. “Can I see my room? I do get my room right?”
“Of course you do,” You wrap your arm around her shoulder to walk further into the house. “It’s one of the main reasons we wanted to move. To have more room for you all. Something just for you.”
Cara nods, not offering more opinion, as you lead her to the first staircase. Natasha seems to be showing everyone around the house.
“Charlie, James, Paige, and Luke will be upstairs,” You nod towards the staircase. “Now, your bedroom will be downstairs.” You can see the way her eyes light up. “There is an in-law suite down there as well which is where your grandparents will be sleeping but… you’ll have privacy.” You lead her down the stairs to the finished basement. There’s a family room, a rec area, and a home theater. Something you think Cara and her friends will be using quite often. “Mama and I wanted you to feel like you have a say in a lot of the decorations so we kept everything blank.” You open the bedroom door and Cara practically bounces in excitement.
“Mom,” Cara steps into her brand new bedroom for the first time.“I get my own bathroom too? Oh my God!” She squeals. “I can have a huge bed right? Anything I want?”
“Anything you want,” You answer. You feel elated that she’s showing interest in this move for the first time.
“Ohh, wait until I call Kelsey and Jenna, can I?” She raises her phone to type in a number before she looks to you for permission.
“Go ahead, I’ll be upstairs with Mama.” You inform her before leaving her to marvel over her new space. You weren’t lying. A big reason you all moved from the four-bedroom brownstone to this one. That and you wanted to experience something different. Why not Ohio? You’re walking back upstairs, you can hear the pounding of little feet on the third floor, and you’d rather not investigate. You find Natasha in the kitchen, feeding Luke a bottle of milk, as she leans against the counter. She lifts her head to smile at you. You kiss her forehead, tickling Luke’s stomach, with another kiss on Natasha’s cheek.
“Is she happy?” Natasha asks. She’s always so concerned. About every single one of your children.
“She is,” You answer. You can see her visibly relax at your words.“I think it will take some time.” You match Natasha’s stance. “For all of us. I’m excited. This is what we wanted. For our kids to have a place to play, to feel safer, to not be on top of each other.” You sigh. This is the right thing to do. “As for me, I’m kind of upset that the movers aren’t here because we’ll be eating and sleeping on the floor until they do.” You check your phone again for any messages.
“Consider it a sleepover,” Natasha slips the bottle from Luke’s lips. He grunts in frustration but soon quiets down once Natasha holds him upright. She pats his back firmly, hoping to receive a burp and he doesn’t disappoint. “Charlie will gladly help you set up. Air mattresses and all.” You snort. Last time you allowed Charlie to help she took over the entire operation. For a seven-year-old, she can be incredibly bossy.
“I love you,” Natasha says suddenly. Your eyes fly to hers and you smile.
“I know,” You say. “I love you too.”
“How much?” She raises a brow.
“More than Cara loves her phone” You joke and Natasha moves her head. “More than Paige loves ice cream, Charlie and her skates, and more than James and his dinosaurs all rolled into one.”
“Seems like a lot,” Natasha ponders. “Maybe once we’re all set up you can show me?”
“I’d love to,” You kiss her again as a promise for later. Luke grunts between you not okay with being squished. “I’m sorry, little guy, your Mama is hot.”
Luke simply drools on his chewed fingers. His eyes leave yours to find something behind you. Natasha turns to view three children flying down the steps, Paige almost tripping on her own feet, before she uprights herself. Your eyes widen. Maybe it’s time for a reminder on why not to run down those.
“Is there more house?” James runs to you to grab at your pants legs. He points in the direction of the backyard and you nod. There’s more of the house for them to see. “Let’s go see.”
Natasha follows with Paige holding onto her hand while holding Luke in her other hand. You keep a very bouncy James in check as you all step onto the patio. James can’t believe his eyes at what he sees. Yes, the pool is nice. It’s magnificent even. He’s more focused on the basketball court about fifty feet away from the pool. It’s painted purple and gold. Laker’s colors that you don’t care for.
“I can play here!” James runs over to the court. He begins his own game of hopscotch. “Mama, can I play?”
“You sure can,” Natasha yells back. She lets go of Paige’s hand for a second and you can see where things will go wrong. Paige toddles over to the pool, kneeling before it, to reach her hand in and touch the water. Though she can swim you’re not quite in the mood to get her out of the pool. You kneel next to her to hold onto the back of her shirt. “We have to get a gate.” Natasha muses out loud. You nod in agreement.
“Where are Alexei and Melina?” You ask.
“I sent them to the store for food and supplies,” Natasha answers. She watches as Charlie and James engage in a game of tag. “An entire list and my Amex. Should give them a bit more time to explore on their own.”
“Sounds good,” You carry Paige in your arms now. “I know baby you love the pool and maybe tomorrow we can swim. Not today.”
Paige whines but lets it go quickly. She wiggles out of your arms to follow her older siblings around the basketball court. Their giggles are like music to your ears. Children playing, running around, being themselves. You can’t imagine anything better than this.
“Mom? There’s no signal here.” Cara steps out of the house from the door leading to the basement.
“Everything will be set up later,” You remind her. “Security, cameras, internet. All of it will be done by the end of this week for sure.”
“So, what am I supposed to do?” Cara pouts.
“Play with your siblings, you have four,” You gesture to the other kids. “Hang out with your moms. Unpacking is fun. Right?” You chuckle at her face. “Explore the neighborhood. Maybe you’ll find a cute boy.” Cara’s lips quirk at the idea but she doesn’t respond.
“Hey,” She grins. “We have all this space. Can we get a dog?”
“Oh no, no, no, no dogs.” Natasha immediately shuts that down.
“A dog?” Charlie stops her playing to participate in the conversation. “I want a dog. Like the one on Fuller House.” She comments. “Mama can we ?”
“Dog?” Paige echos.
Natasha looks to you for backup and you can’t back her up on this one. You’d like a dog too. Maybe not in the near future but soon. Natasha sighs. She won’t be winning this one.
“If we get a dog I’m going to be responsible for it,” Natasha argues. “I will be the one taking them on walks, playing with them, feeding them. May I remind you what happened to Gordon the hamster?” She says and each child avoids her gaze. “You guys lose interest in things rather quickly. A dog is a living being.”
“I promise we will take care of it,” Cara begs. “If we make a chart and divide the responsibilities. If I don’t you can take away my allowance for six months.”
Natasha narrows her eyes.
“A year,” She counters.
“Eight months?” Cara responds. “And I learn Russian?” She throws that in and you know Natasha is sold. You are incredibly proud of her negotiation skills.
“In a few months once we’re settled we will discuss one dog,” Natasha raises a finger to stop their excitement. “One dog. Singular. A breed we all agree on. Maybe a rescue? Older. More mellow. Mommy and I have already changed enough diapers.” She alludes to Luke’s and Paige’s diapers.
“I don’t wear diapers all the time,” Paige says indignantly. “I wear big girl panties now, Mama.” Paige frowns.
“That’s right you do,” Natasha praises her for her progress.
“Speaking of, how about we go and collect everything from the car.” You round up the kids to get everything together. They have loads of energy and you might as well put them to work.
********************************
The kids turn out to be a huge help. They take bags from the car and place them one by one in the living room. When you’re done, Melina and Alexei, have returned and you take more bags into the house.
“Baby gates,” Alexei announces. “I think with little ones and stairs it will be no good.” He shows you the box of brand new gates to be installed.
“Wow, thanks, Alexei,” You’d forgotten about the idea of either of the little Romanoffs taking the stairs. “Did you bring the tools?” Alexei’s smile leaves his face. “It’s fine. I’ll do Instacart for something to be delivered within the next couple of hours. You go rest. Let Natasha show you guys your suite.”
“Suite?” Alexei questions. “A big one?”
“Pretty big.” You laugh at his giddiness. You’re pulling random new items from the trunk of the car when a stranger approaches you.
A tall woman with deep brown skin and brown eyes. She looks nice enough.
“Hello, Neighbor,” She greets you and offers a smile. “It’s so nice to see you again. We met before, during the open house, I’m Lacy Houston.” You don’t quite remember her but you’re sure you will. She extends her hand for you to shake and you do. “It’s so nice seeing you move in. It’s about time we get a bit of diversity around here.”
Her comment stops you in your tracks. What did she mean by that?
“I just mean I’ve seen your big family,” Lacy quickly covers up. “I envy people who can do it. Kids running around. I have one and I think even he’s a handful.”
“We manage,” You look back to the trunk of your car.
“I’m sure you do,” Lacy’s voice dips lower. “You look very in shape for someone that has given birth recently.” She looks to the baby gates. “How old?”
“He’s six months,” You don’t care to correct her on whether or not you gave birth to him. From the corner of your eye, you can see Natasha approaching. “This is my wife, Natasha.” You watch Natasha’s green eyes give the woman a once over. There’s no doubt she could take her.
“Your wife,” Lacy smiles. It’s fake and you can see right through it. “I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Lacy.”
“Nice to meet you, Lacy…” Natasha cuts her eyes to you. She’s trying to figure out who exactly this woman is.
“Our new neighbor,” You supply and Natasha is a bit surprised.
“Right, our neighbor, lovely to meet you.” Natasha takes Lacy’s hand to give it a firm shake.
Charlie chooses that very moment to come out and interrupt your conversion.
“Mama, Cara says I can’t get my room painted pink. Can I?” Charlie looks at her expectantly.
“You can paint it whatever you want, Charlotte,” Natasha bends down to kiss her head. “Don’t listen to Cara.”
“What a beautiful name,” Lacy compliments. “For such a pretty little girl. You look like your other mother. Same eyes and everything.” Lacy waves a hand between the two of you.
Charlie presses herself into Natasha’s front, the redhead’s hands coming to rest on her shoulders, as Charlie looks up at the other woman.
“I’m adopted,” Charlie says. “What’s your name?” You almost giggle at the woman’s surprise.
“Lacy,” She answers.
“Do you have kids, Lacy?” Charlie asks.
“Miss,” You remind her.
“Miss Lacy, do you have kids?” Charlie rephrases her question with the appropriate title.
“One, my son, he’s six. Benjamin. We call him Benny for short.” Lacy looks back to her own home. “I don’t want to take too much of your time. It was nice meeting you all. Especially you Charlotte.”
“Bye,” Charlie waves to the woman as you watch her walk off. Charlie leaves you with Natasha in search of her siblings.
“I don’t like her,” Natasha says once you’re out of earshot.
“Be nice,” You shake your head. You take the remaining bag out of the trunk as Natasha follows behind you.
“I am being nice,” Natasha throws her hands up. “She wants you.”
“How can you tell in just five minutes of talking to her,” You don’t entertain the silly idea. Lacy was simply being nice. A little forward but she didn’t seem to mean any harm. You set the bags down in the foyer to look at your wife.
“I can tell,” That’s Natasha’s only response. “I’ll have my eye on her.”
“I don’t doubt that for a second,” You kiss her cheek. “What are we feeding these kids for dinner?” You open your phone to order the last few items you need to get you through tonight.
“McDonald’s,” Natasha suggests and you stop typing. Did Natasha “my children will not eat that slop” Romanoff just offer to get the kids fast food? “Unless you feel like cooking.” You shake your head. “I think we can let it slide one night.” She doesn’t like the idea but cooking was not an option tonight.
McDonald’s it is.
******************************
Once baby gates are put up, doors are locked, and food is delivered everyone sits on the floor of the living room to eat. Sheets are set onto the floor to keep the mess contained in one area. Natasha sits with Luke in between her legs as she sits to eat. Charlie is dipping her nuggets into honey barbecue sauce, while you help Paige open her apple slices.
“Mama, what’s this?” She gestures to the tiny sauce given with her happy meal. She dunks her finger into the open container before bringing the substance closer to her eyes.
“Caramel,” You answer. “You’ve had caramel before.”
“I don’t think so,” Paige scrunches her nose before tasting it on her fingers. “Oh! It’s good.”
“I told you,” You bite into your chicken sandwich.
“She’s a very picky eater,” Melina mentions. “I think it’s good she tries new things even when she’s like that.”
“It’s been a battle,” You say. “A long one.” You hand Paige her apples. She takes them happily.
“Hey, what’s my school like?” Cara asks.
“Ohh,” You nod. You could talk about that easily. “It’s really good. Pre- K through 12th grade so you all will be attending. The curriculum is right where we want it to be in terms of learning and its focus. They have a study abroad program in the upper school, sports, clubs, everything that we think you’d love. We can go on tour on Monday if you’d like.”
“Cool, cool,” Cara nods. “Is it preppy? We have to wear a uniform right?”
“Most days,” Natasha answers. “They have a dress-down thing several times a month.”
You both know it will certainly be an adjustment going from dressing however you want to wear a uniform.
“I do school too?” Paige drops her apple onto the blanket but quickly picks it up to push it into her mouth.
“Yes, for five days a week. Mornings,” Natasha dips her fries. “You will go to pre-k and then Mom and I will be there to pick you up.”
“I have friends?” Paige smiles. “And homework?”
“Let’s hope they don’t have homework.” You laugh at her excitement. Give it a few years and she won’t be so excited.
“Do you pay for this private school?” Alexei asks. “For each child?”
“Yes,” You answer. “Though it’s nothing we can’t afford.”
“Your job as district attorney pays that much?”
“It pays decently,” You shrug. “I also have investments and forms of income that set me up quite well. Natasha’s income also.” You won’t go into much detail with him but you’re both very well off. Sending your kids to private school wasn’t going to break the bank.
“And if they want to stop being private?” Melina asks. “Is that an option? These schools are very strict, no?”
“Yes, they can.” Natasha looks at each of the kids. “Public school is always on the table. I won’t push them to do something they don’t want.”
“You make us have a bedtime every night,” James reminds, causing everyone to laugh.
“I do but that’s because you’re a grumpy little guy in the morning,” Natasha reaches over to poke his belly. “We get angry James if he doesn’t sleep.”
“Angry James, angry Charlie, angry Paige, angry Cara…” You list off. “All of you need sleep.”
“Does that mean bedtime soon?”
“Bedtime for all of us,” You stretch. “For now, let’s say one thing we’re excited about living here. Does that work?”
“I’ll go first,” Natasha dusts her hands free of any crumbs. “I’m excited to see the kids grow here. I’m excited to raise them outside of New York. So they can see how I grew up. It’s a wonderful place.”
“I’m excited also to see the kids grow up here,” You say. “I’m also excited about my new job. For our new endeavors and whatever life brings for us.”
“I’m excited to paint my room,” Charlie is next.
“I’m excited to play on the basketball court,” James points to the backyard.
“I am happy to spend time with my daughters and grandchildren,” Melina says.
“I am looking forward to being with family too,” Last to go is Cara and she seems a bit reluctant. She wasn’t very excited to be here.
“Okay, okay,” She shakes her head. “I’m excited about my new bedroom, for new adventures. Also, to reinvent me. It could be fun.”
“Thank you, Cara,” You say sincerely. “We are happy that all of you are trying.”
“Bath time!” Natasha shouts. “Last one to throw away their trash and get to the bath is a rotten egg.” She takes Luke first and the rest of the children follow. This leaves you and the grandparents to clean up.
“I’m delighted you guys stayed,” You say to Melina as you walk with her to the trash. “Natasha is really happy you’re here too.”
“We are glad to be here,” Melina holds the trash can open for you.
“I have to go and help with bathtime,” You sigh. “You and Alexei can keep exploring the house or whatever it is you guys want. Movers should be here in the morning. Thank you, Melina.” You nod to her again before leaving the kitchen to find Natasha.
**************************
Bath time takes two hours. You clean and scrub each child, dress them in pajamas, and send them on their way into the living room. You and Natasha take separate showers quickly before going to your side of the living room to sleep. Only, you can’t. You’re too wound up. Natasha who’s lying next to a sleeping Luke turns over so that she’s facing you.
“Can’t sleep?” She opens her eyes to find you looking back at her.
“No,” You admit with a whisper. You raise your head to see if everyone else is. They’re out like lights. “Come with me.” You say and Natasha makes sure Luke won’t cry before she meets you in the master bedroom. It’s the only bedroom on the second floor. You close the door behind you just as Natasha steps into it.
She lets out an uncharacteristic squeal before she wacks you.
“Ouch!” You rub at the sore spot on your shoulder.
“Don’t scare me you jerk,” She frowns in the darkness. You apologize by pulling her into your arms. You kiss along her neck and chest hoping to lead her to a wall. Instead, you both meet air which causes you to fall onto the ground with her on top of you. She giggles before placing both hands beside your head to get a good look at you. “Hi.” She whispers.
“Hi back,” You wiggle under her. “How are you feeling?”
“Nervous,” Natasha breathes. “Afraid. Excited.”
“Me too,” You push her hair over her shoulders.
“Are we doing the right thing?” She bites her lip nervously.
“I think we are,” You place your hands on her hips. You can feel the heat of her core on your stomach through her sleep shorts. Natasha looks down at your hand placement. You move your right hand to caress her thigh. “Do you think you can be quiet?”
“I know I can,” Natasha opens her legs a bit wider. “Can you?”
“Never been a problem,” You challenge as you massage just a bit closer to the place she wants you most.
“Well, show me then,” Natasha whispers as she leans over to kiss you softly. “I’ve missed you.”
“Mhmm, I’ve missed you too.” You raise your head to steal another kiss. “How do you feel about mirrors on the ceiling?” You ask suddenly.
Natasha looks down at you wide-eyed.
It’s not a terrible idea.
You slide your hand into her panties to feel how wet she is.
Here’s to new adventures.

Talia "aggressively groomed" Jason – did you actually read Lost Days or are you trying to find a convenient scapegoat for his choices? Jason can't be held accountable because "Pit Rage", but the woman who was killed and dunked in the Pit one hundred times until her mind broke enough to brainwash is 100% culpable for every misogynistic plot point hung around her neck. You can find a way to rationalize and ignore Jason's indiscriminate killing at Nicieza and Morrison and even fucking Winnick's hands as OOC, but Talia acting out of character cements her as a groomer and abuser.
It's amazing how people bend backwards to whitewash their little uwu white boy because the narrative is so meeeean to him, but have no problem throwing the woman of colour subjected to every kind of racism and misogyny in the trash.

thank god for dr. spencer reid
Tumblr media
a/n: this was written with a fem!reader in mind but imagine what you want, reader has a period (same girl) :) spencer us such a cutie in this :)))))))
summary: your shitty family is in town and spencer is away, what will you do?
pairing: spencerreid x reader
warnings: heavy family issues, mentions of stress and sickness, very brief mention of abuse (litch not talked about just referenced dw), kinda cursing (just realised i've never warned this before... opps) and i might've missed some!
Tumblr media
My eyes are glued to the screen with a perpetual frown playing on my lips. It’s hard to try to care about my job when I have this looming feeling of dread hanging over me like a cloud. Spencer has been MIA for days now. He left in a hurry on Monday night for a case. It’s Saturday now and he hasn’t been responding to my calls. On top of that, I have dinner with my mother and father. Both of them make it abundantly clear that they’re disappointed in my career choice, which is ridiculous because I’m a lawyer. Not the right kind of lawyer they constantly say. I’m an environmental lawyer and I make good money. The only way to satiate their insufferable whining is with Spencer. They love him. They probably love him more than me at this point. Alas, I will just have to deal with them alone tonight. And today has already been one hell of a day. First, Morgan called me,asking where Spencer was, telling me that they finished and that they should be home soon. He had not come home yet. Secondly, I feel like shit, an allergic reaction, my period and some random nausea all add up to making me feel itchy, gross, and practically vile all over. Thirdly, a huge pimple has decided to pop up on my face and  just know my mother will comment on it. My mother is one of those women who look effortlessly put-together 24/7. I am not one of those women. She does not like women who don’t look effortlessly put together. Aka, she barely tolerates me.
I sigh and close my laptop screen, unable to reread the same few sentences again and again, hoping that they would get into my brain. I’m defending a client, one of my firm's biggest clients, in court next week. They were accused of illegal dumping (dumping they did not commit) and now they’re being sued for 2 million dollars. I slump out of my desk chair and out of my home office, locking it behind me for the weekend ahead. If I have court next week and Spencer is coming home after a difficult case, then we’ll need a day or rest and relaxation together. That is, if he even bothers to come home. I busy myself with getting ready and try to push those thoughts out of my head.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The last hour of my life has been 60 minutes of absolute misery. Why did I ever accept this invite? My mother excuses herself to the bathroom and my father excuses himself for a cigarette, I nod along. Then it hits me… my dad doesn’t smoke anymore. I stare at the door and before I can stop myself my face contorts into a frown once again. Amelia, my sister. The sister that I haven't seen in years. The sister that bullied and abused me throughout our teenage years. Fuck.
“Amelia?” I question, looking at the blonde woman who looks… different. She’s obviously older than I remember, and a bit more… I don’t know how to put it. Her blonde hair surpasses her waist and she seems to be pregnant? Her blue eyes seem dull and lack a certain vividness they used to sparkle with. She’s the typical peaking in high-school mean girl who became a nurse girl. I honestly can’t believe I used to look up to her.
“It’s so good to see you!” She smiles, one of her fake-bitchy smiles and I grimace as she tries to hug me. “I just wanted to know how you’re doing, especially with the baby on the way, I’ll need all the help I can get!”
My heart drops. “Oh!” Is all I can manage. She sits in the seat beside me and I instinctively move further away. Just as I think this stupid dinner can’t get any worse, her pervy fiancé, Johnny, walks in.
“No Spencer?” He smirks. “What? Did you two break up? He was always too vanilla for you, you need a real man-”
“No, sorry. I was just late. I had to come straight from the jet,” Spencer smiles from behind him. My parents' eyes light up, as Amelia and Johnny’s faces fall. I smile appreciatively at him as he hands the flowers he brought over to my parents and sits beside me, a comforting hand on my thigh.
“How’s work, Spencer?” My father asks, his undivided attention on Spencer.
“It’s good, strenuous but good. Our cases recently haven’t been too difficult- though there was one that had a puzzle I thought you might enjoy…”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I walk inside our house behind him, a million thoughts at once flowing through my head. We walk to the kitchen, he sits me down and takes off my shoes for me, a true gentleman.
He presses a kiss to my cheek and smiles. “You look beautiful.”
I just nod back, a small smile on my lips.
“Is everything alright?” He asks, turning to me, his hands resting on my waist.
“Fine,” I tiredly smile. “Just… you know, it’s fine, don’t worry about it.”
“You know, saying that makes me worry more, right?:” He smiles softly, though we both know he’s serious.
“I just… I can’t believe she just showed up, like 7 years  of not seeing her and she just shows up? Like it’s casual? And then asks for our help with her baby? Like she did nothing to me? Like she-” I stop myself, determined not to cry right now.
“Angel, it’s ok, let it out,” he soothes, a hand on my back, rubbing comforting circles.
“I don’t want to cry though, they’re not worth crying over.”
“Then how about we get ready for bed, yeah angel?” He offers, a tired look in his eyes. I nod and press a soft to his perfect lips. He smiles against my mouth, his hands finding the sides of my face. I run a hand through his hair. He pulls away softly, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” I smile. “Thank you for coming, my knight in shining armour.”
“I enjoyed it. Watching your father fail to solve a simple puzzle was amusing.” He smirks, a mischievous glint in his eye as I roll my eyes.
“We’re not all geniuses,” I remind him.
“You are.”
“And how am I a genius?” I chuckle.
“You’re dating me, you clearly have superior taste and intelligence,” he says matter-of-factly. I gigle at his antics and kiss him again. He pulls away and grabs my hand, leading me into our room. We both opt out of brushing our teeth and washing our faces, a makeup wipe sufficing for removing my makeup. He pulls me into bed with him, and finally, after a long week, I finally lie down in bed with him, his arms around me in a bear-hug of sorts. This is heaven. He’s my knight in shining armour. Thank God for Dr. Spencer Reid.

Whumptober 2023: 1 (Arsenal)
No. 1: “But now this room is spinning while I’m trying just to fill in all the gaps.”
Safety Net | Swooning | “How many fingers am I holding up?”
You had laughed at the viral video of Sam hip checking a pitch invader, the move being such a classic Sam move that you didn’t even think about the possibility that something bad could have happened. It seemed so unlikely that someone would manage to make it past security, onto the pitch, and then over to the players just to harm one of them.
But it happened. It was the 86th minute and you had just assisted Beth with an absolute banger. You were resting your hands on your head, not paying attention as you tried to force air back into your lungs before the game restarted.
You weren’t paying attention to much of what was happening, only noticing when you heard multiple players- teammates and opponents alike- shouting your name in a panic. You looked up to see a very large- very scary- man charging towards you. You did what most teenage girls would do in your position and froze.
He rams into you, knocking the two of you to the ground forcefully. His tackle was definitely more American football style than the type of football you usually played.
You lay on the ground, this man who is easily a foot taller than you and double your weight crushing you. You can’t scream, can’t move, you’re just paralyzed with fear.
In a recurring theme, Sam Kerr decides to handle the situation herself. You can finally take a breath- shallow and shuddering- as you watch your opponent pull this beast of a man off of you and stand over him. Your panicked eyes manage to find security, making their way over, but that’s the last thing you see before you’re enveloped into a hug and your vision is obscured by someone’s body.
Viv. Viv was safe. So you latched on to Viv, your fingers gripping into her jersey as you shoved your face into her neck. You were spiraling and Viv was your safety net.
The next little while is a blur, but you remember getting taken to the side of the pitch. When Viv tried to push you into someone else’s hold, you freaked out. Sobbing, you clung tighter to her, begging her not to leave. Leah was shocked that you wouldn’t move into her embrace, she knew that you trusted her. Trying to help you out, she unlatches your hands and tries to pull you into her arms.
You become dead weight, sobs breaking through your hyperventilation. Jonas took pity on you, telling Viv she could be subbed out to stay with you. The woman quickly picked you up off the ground, carrying you back through the tunnel and into the locker room.
She sat on the bench in front of your locker, cradling you in her lap. She rocked gently, speaking quietly to you in Dutch. You couldn’t understand her, but the process and the soothing tone calmed you and you were able to regain control of your breathing. Even as your sobs slowed and eventually stopped, Viv kept up the calming repetition. By the time you had finally calmed down enough that Viv was no longer afraid that you were going to make yourself sick, you were slumped into her, your exhaustion clear.
Explaining everything to you before she makes any move, Viv manages to rinse you off in a shower and get you dressed in a sweatsuit. She has you sitting in between her legs as she brushes your hair out when the locker room door opens.
It was quiet, something that was a rarity for the team. Everyone was in shock still, the previous events having shaken everyone up. You huddled closer to Viv as everyone entered. Realistically, you knew that they would never hurt you- the whole team had become older sisters to you. But still, the nagging thought in the back of your mind was that he might be there, coming for you.
Everyone’s gaze was sympathetic as they looked at you, giving you a wide berth. You sat still for the next while, watching as everyone went to shower and put on clean clothes. No one approached you until Viv gestured to Leah and Beth to come over. The two women walked slowly, not wanting to spook you. Beth moves to sit next to Viv and Leah crouches in front of you. You can hear Viv whispering something to Beth, but you can’t make out what she’s saying.
“Schatje,” Viv says, getting your attention, “I need to go shower. You’re going to stay right here with Beth and Leah, and I will be back as soon as I can.”
Partway through her sentence- when you realized that she would be leaving- you turned your body enough to cling to her again. You wiggle as close as you can to her, tears beginning to flow again.
“I know it’s going to be hard, but you’re going to be okay. I just need 10 minutes, I can leave a timer on my phone. After that, you’re coming home with Beth and I and we can cuddle for the rest of the night,” Viv had hoped that the promise of a quick reunification and snuggles would be enough to convince you to let go.
It wasn’t. You began sobbing harder, your cries becoming more frantic as you felt someone else rest a hand on your back. You squirmed, trying to get away from the other person while staying as close to Viv as you possibly could. Your panic only heightened when you heard Beth whisper, “just go,” to Viv.
You began hyperventilating, pleading with Viv to stay between breaths. She couldn’t leave, you needed her.
You felt her shift under you, and you felt another pair of arms wrap around you from the back. It was awkward, but you were transferred into Beth’s arms, your back to her chest. Her grip around you was tight, her hug keeping your arms down at your side.
You’re fully panicking at this point, and it only increases when you see Viv stand up and walk away. As soon as the door shuts behind her, you become inconsolable.
Leah resumes her position in front of you, very carefully moving her hands towards you. She makes sure that you see her, that you’re aware of her presence, before she puts her hands on either side of your face. Still, you flinch.
She angles your head so that you’re looking directly at her, panic also evident in her eyes. This was a situation that no one had seen before, the team’s happy-go-lucky little sister was broken.
“You’re alright, Love, you’re going to be okay. Viv’ll be back as soon as she can, and then we’ll get you home. No one in this room is going to let anything else happen to you, you’re safe,” Leah continues to speak calmly and reassuringly to you, still holding your head so you’re forced to look at her.
Your eyes are wide, frantically searching the room for any possible threats. After about five minutes of Leah reassuring you and Beth holding you tightly, you finally make eye contact with Leah. Both women breathe a sigh of relief. It might be small, but it’s an improvement.
A few minutes after that, your breathing becomes somewhat more controlled. You’re sobbing and your breath is hitching as you choke and cough around your sobs, trying to catch your breath. But you weren’t actively having a panic attack, which, again, is an improvement.
Leah, feeling bold, moves one hand to smooth back your hair. When she feels you lean every so slightly into the touch, she continues stroking your hair. You were coming back to them, albeit slowly.
You’re so distracted by looking at Leah as she guides you through your breathing that you don’t notice the door open. You’re not even aware as a figure approaches, fully trusting Leah and Beth to keep you safe. You only notice as this person sits beside you and rests a hand on your leg.
Viv. Viv is safe. Again, you throw yourself at her, almost knocking her off the bench. The only difference this time is that your legs are still in Beth’s lap, and Leah still had a hand resting on the back of your head.
Viv hugs you tightly. She would never admit it, but she hadn’t wanted to separate from you either. Realistically, she knew you were safe and that you would be okay with your teammates. But, still, a little part of her didn’t want to let go and give anything else the chance to hurt you. She could feel your hands gripping into her shirt, clutching like you were afraid she would disappear. She held you just as tightly.
After you have calmed down from your reunification, Beth and Leah slowly remove themselves. The three women hear as you whimper slightly at the loss, Beth and Leah having to hold back smiles. Instead, they gather all of their belongings, shoving them into bags as quickly as they can. Beth grabs Viv’s bag and Leah grabs yours, and the two return to you in about a minute.
It would take some time, but the three women would eventually coax you out to the car, Viv settling in the back seat with you. The other two sat in the front, almost constantly staring back at you in the mirror.
The drive was short, and you pulled up to a familiar house. Viv steps out of the car, pulling you into her arms. The simple act of getting you away from the stadium had allowed you to calm considerably, and you were no longer crying. Your breathing was steady and slow, your eyes blinking heavily as both physical and emotional exhaustion consumed you. But you knew you were going to be taken inside and snuggled between all of the women. Everyone already knew that Leah would be staying, the woman already having invited herself over. And tomorrow, though you didn’t know it, the rest of the team would be showing up with breakfast. With your support system, you would be okay.

Down Bad - A Joel Miller Drabble
Tumblr media
Rating: Explicit. 18+ (Minors DNI) Pairing: Pre Outbreak Joel Miller x Female Reader Word Count: 800 Summary: You get ghosted after a one night stand with your handsome neighbor. Warnings: Drinking, smut remembrance, angst. A/N: Happy Tortured Poets Department release day! Thank you to @beskarandblasters for the amazing Taylor Swift Drabble Challenge AGAIN. I previously wrote Paper Rings for it. TBH, I stayed up until 3:30 AM listening to TTPD last night with @ohheypedrito and your girl is STRUGGLING TODAY, but well worth it. What an album.
Masterlist
One night out with your friends, one shared glance, one half smile, one opportunity, one drink bought, one phone number drunkenly tapped into his phone.
One date, one heated make out session in his truck, one moment of being heaven struck, one naked body left alone in your bed as he quietly leaves without a word.
One text telling him you had a good time, one week since you’ve heard from him, countless hours of yearning for your neighbor.
Across the street and two houses to the left, Joel Miller lives. Well manicured lawn, cute daughter who goes door to door selling Girl Scout cookies, large truck parked out the front dinged and well used.
You’ve been down bad for him since you first moved in, a quick introductory hello and wave one early morning as you took your dog for a walk, how could you be so attracted to a total stranger?
That stranger ignoring you from that moment on, leaving you feeling nuts. Sometimes you’d take your dog for a walk when you’d notice him mowing the lawn, sneaking a glance under your sunglasses, watching the sweat make his skin glisten. Teenage crush vibes, teenage petulance coming out because you can’t have him or his attention.
You never see him with another woman there, only his loud, precocious brother Tommy who stops to talk with you whenever you’re outside. You know he likes you, but you’re too drawn to his older brother’s beam to even want to lead him on.
That night shared between the two of you, it almost feels like an evil experiment. He fucked you, fucked you hard, stared into your eyes as he came all over you, devoured your cunt as if he was starving, made you cum so hard it felt like you were floating in a cosmic cloud of sparks, then he left you naked and alone. He owned your body, like it was some sort of hostile takeover.
You’re barely even sure it happened, like if you speak about the existence of that night, everybody will tell you it never happened, that you’re nuts.
Why did he leave you like that? Why did he strand you the way he did? Why can’t you have him? Why cant you have an us?
Doesn’t he know what you would do for his attention? How you feel like you could just die when you think back to that night? You’re pathetic for him, isn’t it romantic?
You replay the words he uttered against your skin as he fucked you. “You feel so fucking good, like you were made for me.”
The taste of your sweat against your lips makes you almost want to cry as you try to run the thoughts of him away on the treadmill at the gym. The last time you sweat like this his cock was stretching you, his hand holding your cheek, his tongue languidly licking into your mouth.
——
After a night of staring at the ceiling, sleep not visiting you, tossing and turning not being able to get the thought of the weight of his body against yours, you decide to sit out on your porch with coffee in hand, staring at the sky as dawn approaches. A door slamming across the street startles you. He’s outside. This is it, you live in the same old familiar town, he can’t escape you, you can’t escape him. You trudge across the street, only clad in your shorts and your old Rangers shirt. You wave at him to get his attention as he finishes lifting his tool box onto his lift gate.
You see him swallow as you stand at the edge of his driveway.
“G’morning,” he nods. “Quite early.”
“It is. Could’t sleep.”
“Happens to me too.”
“Mm,” you tap your foot, arms folded across your chest. “Did I do something wrong?”
“No, not at all.”
“Then why are you ignoring me?”
“S’complicated.”
“Try me, it’d make no difference.”
“Alright,” he runs a hand through his hair, “you’re too good. I don’t think it’s smart… for me to be with someone right now. Too much going on, ’n it’s safer if we just leave it at that. It’s better for you.”
“So, you fuck me, whisper all those sweet things in my ear, make me feel like I’m the chosen one, then just leave? How romantic Joel.”
“Never said I was the romantic type.”
“No, you’re just the fuck ‘em and strand ‘em. I guess.”
“Listen,” he looks down at his watch, “I gotta get goin’, got an important job to start. I really would like to talk more, I respect you too much ’n I really like you, I just think it’s better if you find someone else.”
“Right, well, see you around neighbor,” you bite.
Fuck it, you can’t have him.

I can't be everywhere (No outbreak!Joel Miller x f!reader) ANGST! Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: You knew Joel was a busy man, but you never thought that when you needed him most you would hear, "I can't be everywhere." As if your pain meant nothing. So you decided that you couldn't be everywhere either… You couldn't be in his heart anymore.
Warnings: ANGST, miscarriage, misunderstanding, loss, mourning, broken heart, age gap (17 years), Joel is 45, depression, Joel tries hard, but… He can't show his true emotions…
Tumblr media
Part 2
Joel had no self-confidence. He knew it. He might have played the tough guy, but he knew the truth. He was afraid of relationships. Sarah's mother left such a huge hole in his heart that for a long time, he was unable to establish normal relationships with women. At first, he thought it was better this way. He focused on raising his daughter.
Joel was selfish. He hid it behind the statement that he had to care for his daughter and help his brother. But he knew the truth. He did what was comfortable for him and didn't think about the feelings of the other women. He started dating women when Sarah was older and needed less attention. He selfishly used women to satisfy his needs. Most often they were short-lived affairs for him. Sometimes just for one night. He didn't give any woman false hopes for something more serious, so he had no remorse.
He stayed longer with a woman named Tess. But only because he was comfortable with her. Tess was younger than him, but not as significantly as you. She was in a similar situation to Joel. She was a divorcee, raised a teenage son on her own, had her own business, and worked hard. And this arrangement seemed perfect to him. He saw Tess whenever he needed to. Sometimes he stayed overnight with her, and sometimes she stayed with him. They were together, although neither of them planned to make it official. And then suddenly it fell apart… And two months later he met you.
At first, he tried to stay away from you. However, he couldn't help but glance at you. There was something attractive about you. He saw how you treated other people with kindness. He noticed that despite your young age, you were very responsible and weren't the party type. And he loved your laugh. God, how he loved your laugh. He could be busy drilling holes and he would still recognize your laughter. Even Tommy noticed that his brother had a crush on you and casually told Joel one day.
"Her name is Y/N and if I understand correctly, she is single."
Joel looked at him in surprise and grunted, "So what? I don't care."
"Yeah, sure… I'm just saying."
Two weeks later, he saved you when you locked yourself in the bathroom and he was able to say your name out loud for the first time. And when he looked into your beautiful eyes that looked at him with gratitude, he felt like a knight who saved the princess and then it happened… Joel Miller fell in love… And he really wanted to be with you. Being with you was like a breath of fresh air to him. He felt younger around you, and at the same time, he didn't feel any pressure from you to be someone else. He saw that you fully accepted him and he was happy. So much so that he wanted to have you even closer to him. He wanted to see you every morning and evening.
And you were so sweet to him. Before he knew it, he was already used to home-cooked meals, your massages, and shared showers. And he was selfish again. He didn't notice that he was taking away your youth, that he was turning you into a housewife. He told himself that's what you wanted. He stopped thanking you for dinners and all the other little things you did for him. He thought it was a part of you.
Everything was going perfectly. Everything was set and stable and Joel wanted nothing more and that was the problem. Joel didn't want to change ANYTHING. So the news of your pregnancy turned his sense of stability upside down. After all, he was a responsible man, so he wasn't going to abandon you. But he couldn't drive away the shadows that appeared around him. Even though he didn't show it to you, he was panicking. And for many reasons. He knew that the baby would change everything, that HE would have to change. But he didn't know if he would be able to. He was also worried that having a child would be too much for you, even though he saw that you weren't like Sarah's mother. He was worried about money, about your health, about… So many things that he just couldn't feel joy.
He knew that avoiding you was stupid and that it wouldn't change anything. He had to come to terms with the idea of becoming a dad for the second time. He didn't want to let you down, and yet he didn't know how to change.
The day you called him to tell him your belly hurt, he felt a twinge of fear. When you finished talking, he felt guilty. What if his dislike for this child and lack of joy caused a curse? He even stopped the car on the side of the road and considered turning around, but… Joel Miller was a coward and decided to distort reality. He figured that if he didn't turn back, nothing bad would happen. And then everything got even worse. He was distracted and left his phone in the car. When Tommy asked him for car keys because he wanted to go pick up some building supplies, Joel didn't think twice. Only later did he realize his stupidity. You might want to contact him. When Tommy finally returned, Joel immediately checked his phone. Three missed calls from you and one text message… The content of the message was etched in his chest. He had to lean on the car to keep from falling over.
His brother's voice seemed muffled.
"Jo… Bro, what happened?"
When he could finally take a deeper breath, he croaked.
"Y/N is in the hospital… I think it's about the baby…"
Tommy sighed heavily, not sure how to react. He saw how reluctant Joel was to the idea of having another child, but he hoped that his brother would come to his senses and change his mind, but it was too late.
"You should go to her."
"She definitely hates me."
Tommy snorted and grabbed his brother's arm.
"Sometimes I can't believe you're the older one. Even if she hates you now, your ass should be in the hospital… It was your baby too!"
Joel took a step back and felt the sting of tears in his eyes.
"I know…"
His brother softened a bit.
"Shall I take you to her?"
He shook his head and gripped his keys tighter, then got into the car. All the way to the hospital he kept telling himself that he had to be strong. He wanted to be your support, but… The moment he saw you in the hospital bed… So vulnerable, dressed in a terrible salmon hospital gown, his heart sank. You didn't deserve this. You didn't deserve all this suffering and an asshole boyfriend like him. He felt like he let you down. Instead of focusing on your suffering, he fell into self-blame.
So when you woke up, he didn't know what to do. He thought that just hugging you would be enough. He hoped this gesture would let you know how sorry he was. But Joel was a fool.
And when you asked, "Why weren't you with me?" he felt as if all his worst fears had come true.
You hated him. It was obvious. He left you when you needed him the most. He felt like he was going to fall apart and start crying like a baby. So he did what he always did when he felt like this, he put on a tough guy pose and answered back with the sentence that hurt you so much.
"I can't be everywhere."
And, the moment those words left his mouth, he realized how he had screwed up. How could he be such an asshole to blame you? But he couldn't take it back. When you said you wanted to sleep, he thought it was the perfect excuse to retreat and run away.
Joel Miller was selfish again. He wanted to protect his heart and his feelings without understanding how much he hurt you. But when he returned home, he felt empty… He walked into the bedroom on heavy legs, and when he saw a blood stain on the sheet, he fell apart. He fell to the floor and started crying like a baby.
How could he do this to you? He didn't deserve you, your kindness and love, but he couldn't let go of you. When he calmed down, he decided to clean up and then he had a brilliant idea. He decided that the best way to survive this crisis was to downplay the significance of the tragedy. Yes. He decided that he needed to help you get back to normal life as soon as possible. There was no point in despairing any longer.
A tragedy had befallen you, but he couldn't change anything.
The problem was that his plan didn't work. For the next few days, he was only met with your indifference. No matter how nice he was, you didn't respond in any way. His idealized relationship disappeared like a mirage. There were no more warm dinners, sweet kisses, and joyful smiles.
When he saw you lying on the couch, eyes glued to the TV, he felt guilt consume him. He even started to want you to react in any way. He would even prefer you to scream at him, throw plates at him, cry, but… You were just like a ghost. A ghost that haunted him and reminded him of how he had screwed up.
When he came home and didn't see you on the couch, he was naively happy at first. He thought you were finally feeling better. Maybe you were reading a book in the bedroom and waiting for him… Or taking a shower… Then it slowly dawned on him that something was wrong. It was too empty and too quiet.
"Y/N!"
Joel looked into the bedroom, the bathroom, and even to Sarah's room.
"Y/N, baby, where are you?!"
He finally walked into the kitchen and found a note from you. He read it once… Second, third… Tenth time… And he didn't understand anything. He felt like you had ripped his heart out. First, he felt anger and even thoughts appeared in his mind: Well, let her go… But it quickly disappeared…
He started to panic because he suddenly realized how much he loved you. He took out his phone and tried to call you, but you didn't answer. He tried again and again… Finally, with trembling hands, he texted you:
'Babe… I know I deserve it and that you're hurt, but please, at least write that you're okay. I want you to be safe… I love you.'
He didn't even care that his message sounded desperate. For the first time in a long time, he wasn't ashamed to admit his feelings. He took a bottle of beer and sat on the couch with a piece of paper in his hand. He focused on the words: … for a while. He clung to these few words so tightly that he didn't want to pay attention to the rest. He wanted to cling to the hope that it wasn't too late… He wanted to believe that you would come back to him, after some time… * It was a long drive from Austin to Florida, so halfway you decided to stop and sleep at a motel. You even started to regret not taking the plane, but you were so desperate that you couldn't think straight. When you threw yourself on the crappy bed with a groan, you decided to check your phone. Throughout the trip, you consistently ignored checking to see if Joel had called you. When you saw a few calls from him and a text message, it made you feel better on one hand. At least he was thinking about you. When you read his message, you were shocked. It didn't sound like, Joel… Did he realize his mistake? But on the other hand, it also sounded a bit infantile, as if you had argued over something trivial, and not lost a child. But you knew it would be unrealistic to expect a long essay from someone like Joel. He just wasn't that type. You sighed and rolled onto your back, your phone raised above your head. Part of you wanted to be mean and not text him back. You wanted to leave him in suspense, but… It just wasn't fair. You believed his concern for you in that moment was genuine. So you bit your lip and replied:
'I'm okay.'
Almost immediately, your phone started ringing. You rejected Joel's call and in half a minute there was another message.
'Where are you? Can we talk?'
You snorted and were about to use obscene words, but you stayed calm.
'On the way to Florida. I don't want to talk.' * Joel's heart trembled when he read your message. Florida?! It almost sounded like the North Pole. He was counting on you being somewhere closer, that he could just get in the car and drive to you. His hands began to shake as he wrote another message. Although he wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer.
'For how long?'
When he got your answer, he felt as if someone had poured a bucket of ice water on him.
'I don't know, for a month, for two… forever.'
He felt like screaming. He was angry with you. Yes, he knew he was the one who screwed up, but if you had at least let him talk to you. He decided to approach you from a slightly different angle and let some of his anger flow out of him.
'What about your job, what about our lives, what about your things… Everything?' * You groaned in annoyance when you saw his message. This is cold old Joel who calculates everything. As if emotions played no role. You waited a few minutes and sent him another message.
'I can do my job remotely, and if not, I will find a new one. Apparently, only I cared about our life together. And my things… You can pack them up and throw them in the basement!'
Then you put your head under the pillow and turned off your phone. You had enough. * Joel sighed deeply as he read your message and realized that he had screwed up again. He just didn't know what he was doing wrong… How could he fix it? He went to the bedroom and grabbed your sweatshirt from the locker. Then he lay down on the bed and pressed his nose into the soft material. He certainly wasn't going to throw your stuff into the basement. Your things were the last thing that gave him hope that he wasn't completely alone because of him acting like a dick. * When you reached your friend, Maddie, you felt a sense of relief… Momentary peace. For a moment, it seemed as if all the bad things were behind you. All the pain, suffering, and loss no longer affected you, but that was just an illusion. When Maddie hugged you and told you she was sorry for your loss, you broke down and started crying. No matter how much you tried to downplay your loss, it hurt just as much as it did in the hospital when Joel left you.
Once you calmed yourself, you two sat down together on the floor in her living room and opened a bottle of wine. You started talking. You could finally let it all out. At one point Maddie said:
"God… What a terrible guy! That's what it's like with these older guys. They expect…"
"Do not say that!"
Your outburst of anger surprised both you and her.
"What?"
You took a long sip of wine and tried to hold back the tears.
"Joel is not a monster… Yes, he let me down and… Maybe our relationship isn't perfect, but… Our relationship wasn't just a failure. When he held me in his arms when we cuddled on the couch… Life with him was pleasant and his age didn't change that…"
You couldn't stop crying anymore and the first tears rolled down your cheeks. Maddie frowned and muttered.
"You… Do you still love him?"
You closed your eyes and sighed heavily. It was obvious. You couldn't just kill this love.
"Yes," you whispered.
"And yet you left him."
You opened your eyes and your friend saw deep pain.
"It's just… Sometimes you can't be everywhere." *

Arcane characters as love stereotypes.
ft. vi, jinx, caitlyn, viktor, jayce, vander, silco, sevika, cassandra, ekko
WARNINGS: bad grammar, mentions of nsfw
CONTAINS: fluff
SONG: -
A/N: I put different song to each character.
Jinx - teenage love
Tumblr media
She wants to be with you all the time. She is blindly in love. And she loves spending time with you. She likes to show you new weapons she made or what she draw. One day she asked you if she can draw you. Now the picture is over your bed.
She likes movie nights. She build pillow bunkers and she made popcorn. Which is little burnt. She often made little handmade gifts for you. Little surprises like picnic or favourite food/drinks. Being biggest cheerleader for each other.
You Stupid Bitch - girl in red
Sevika - rough love
Tumblr media
Overprotective. Hickeys all over you. Teasing each other. When she's at bar and she sees you she always give you a small smile or smirk. After that she pull you into her lap. Passionate and dominant kisses. Seldom happens that you two can lay in bed and cuddle all day.
But when that day comes, you both are happier than ever. Most of you cuddle sessions becomes make out sessions. She likes when you lay on her chest or when you lay your head on her lap, so she can watch your cute face. She thinks you're a cutie, even though she seems tough she have her soft side. But that side is just for you.
I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE - Måneskin
Silco - enemies to lovers
Tumblr media
God how much he hated you at the first time. You were a shimmer dealer which makes you very important. Silco though that he's gonna send Sevika to kill you but than he realized that would be wrong. He had two reasons why he didn't kill you. First - he don't know how to make that good shimmer as you ( Singed's shimmer was nothing compared to yours). Second he start catching feelings.
After a while he decided to get to know more about you. That was the best thing he did in his life. When you two started dating you become the most powerful couple in Zaun. No one dare to even look the same way as you. Because they know, Silco would kill them if they did.
R U Mine? - Arctic Monkeys
Vi - soulmates
Tumblr media
Protective as well. Know everything about each other. Workouts together. You two just meant to be. Hugs from behind while kissing your neck. Cuddles are very important in this relationship because Vi is touch starved. Having sex on public toilets.
She will tattoo your name on her arm. She will let you paint her nails. Also what she appreciates is that you care about her. You bandage her wounds, make her food, give her bed where she can sleep with you ofc, make her feel love. Her favourite part of the day is morning. She wakes up before you and just hold you close in her arms, kissing your face and admiring you.
All I Wanted - Paramore
Ekko - any universe love
Tumblr media
Helping each other with everything. He would never let anything happened to you in any way. Jealous af. He hates when he sees older mens/womans who is trying to flirt with you. And he always gonna remind them that you are taken. Lots of PDA.
Watching horror or action movies together. Cooking together. His favourite activity with you is dancing around the kitchen. He loves when you braid his hair. Race on hoverboards. It's always 50/50. Both of you are very fast so it's always exciting who will win.
You Belong With Me - Taylor Swift
Caitlyn - best friend to lovers
Tumblr media
You and Cait were childhood friends. And Caitlyn always had a big fat crush on you. You were pure perfection in her eyes. But she was shy and nervous if you feel the same way. She was always scared if you're into womans. But her feelings were that strong that she couldn't hold them anymore.
When you two started dating she couldn't believe it. She knows how lucky she is to have you, so she want to make you feel special. She spoils you a lot. Solving problems together. Always have each others back. Shower together. Supporting each other all the time. Doing skin care routine together. You make her smile every.single.day.
girls - girl in red
Viktor - ancient love
Tumblr media
Taking care of him. Listening him mumbling about hextech. Help him with hextech. Even if you don't know much about it, your presence is enough for him. Common baths, which he loves the most. Rescue him that he is enough for you and that you don't want anyone else.
When you play with his hair he immediately relax. He believe you're a witch or something because you have magic touch. Bringing him lunch in his laboratory. Holding your hand 24/7. He loves when you kiss his forehead. He loves you so so much.
Like Real People Do - Hozier
Jayce - rich love
Tumblr media
He makes you feel like a princess. Buys you everything that catches your eyes. Kissing your cheeks. Having sex at Grand Council Chamber (i'm sorry i forgot how they call it). He loves laying on your chest and he doesn't care if you have small or big tits. For him they're perfect. You are perfect for him.
Cinderella and prince Charming couple. Trying cook together. Give him massages to relax after tough day. Helping him with hextech as well. Reading him your favourite books.
Electric Love - BØRNS
Cassandra Kiramman - secret love
Tumblr media
She knows that she is a married woman but she can't help herself. You are perfect and she wants to remind that to you every single day. When she's in public and she can't speak to you she inconspicuously give you little note. - I love you Y/N ♡ - Meet me at the toilets in 10♡ - You look beautiful today ♡ These kind of notes.
She always make sure that she have some time for you. She never cuddle in her time so when you come with that idea of cuddling she was little nervous. But when you snuggled into her neck and start giving her soft kisses on her neck. She melt under you. She is a dominant woman so she is a big spoon. But when she's angry on someone, kiss her forehead and play with her hair. It always calm her down.
Line Without a Hook - Ricky Montgomery
Vander - old love
Tumblr media
He writes you love letters. And he brings you flowers everyday. Helping him cleaning at bar and take care of his kids. He likes reading you books while he's playing with your hair. Loves to hold you on his chest. Dancing on old songs together with Vi, Powder, Mylo and Claggor. Cooking together.
He will protect you no matter what. Teaching you how to protect yourself if you don't know how. Kissing you forehead, hand and head. Bone breaking hugs. Lots of jokes and warm smiles. You are his trophy so he shows you off a lot. Silco is jealous that Vander have such a beautiful woman as you.
Young And Beautiful - Lana Del Rey
I hope you like it guys! ♡

My dad’s neighbor is a dilf
Tumblr media
Chapter 1
Joel Miller x you
Summery: You had decided to spend your summer in Austin with your dad. You used to spend almost every summer there, but hadn't spent a summer there since you were a teenager. Which means you hadn't seen a certain Joel Miller in years..
You were a teacher so the summer months were nice and slow. As you packet your suitcase, you thought back to the phone call with your dad just a few weeks prior. "Hey babygirl, why don't you come on down to Austin for the summer? I know your roommate has been driving you a little crazy lately...wouldn't hurt to get a break ya know? Plus I miss you sweetheart... would love to see you"
You smiled at the memory of his words. He was right about your roommate being annoying lately. Nothing crazy...just normal roommate things. But most of all you missed your dad. Your college summers were all spent with your mom in Boston, so this visit was long overdue.
There airport was fucking packet of course. Airports made you anxious and you always got to your gate a couple hours early for fear of missing your flight. You sent a quick text to your dad letting him know you made it to the airport and would let him know when you safely landed. He loved the message and moments later your phone buzzed again.
Venmo: Dad sent you $50 for "Uber 🚗"
Your dad definitely did well for himself, He was a financial consultant and never missed out on an opportunity to splurge on you and your sister. You knew you wouldn't be swiping your card a single time once you stepped foot in his house for the summer, and you weren't complaining...teachers don't exactly make a ton of money. There was one thing nagging at the back of your mind that you hadn't let yourself think about until now. You always had kind of a girlish crush on your dad's friend and neighbor. You hadn't seen him in years and you wanted to believe he could find you attractive now that you were actually a grown woman. It was a fantasy you know would never come true even in your wildest dreams, but it was still fun to think about from time to time. You put your headphones and closed out the world.
You smiled as the warm air hit your skin as you walked across the tarmac with one hand shading your eyes from the Texas sun. Austin was where you spent your childhood. Before their divorce, your parents had brought you and your sister into a comfortable lifestyle that you were forever grateful for. Your mom headed to Boston after the divorce, you and your older sister followed suit, but Texas never stoped feeling like home. "Uber for y/n?" You slumped down into the air conditioned car with a sigh of relief. "Yes." You looked out the window as the familiar scene flew by. By the time the car turned into your neighborhood your mind had drifted far from Boston. Your stomach lurched slightly as you passed Mr. Millers house. His truck was in the driveway. You remembered a recent phone conversation with your dad where he mentioned Mr. Miller having kind of a hard time spending his first summer without his daughter Sarah. She was with her mom for the summer, a new arrangement you were pretty sure. Maybe you would go and visit him. He was the kind of family friend that had a key to your dad's house . What if he didn't remember you? You were being stupid. Mr. Miller didn't need to entertain a 20 some year old girl. He had friends his own age, a life, and for all you knew maybe a girlfriend. You brushed the idea off as the car slowed in-front of your dad's house.
Your key clicked in the door and you were promptly greeted by Lea, your dad's new kitten. Your sister and you joked that this was his first symptom of his mid life crises. The second being the fact that he now had a girlfriend. You flung your suitcase aside and sunk into the window seat of your bedroom. You have many memories of a younger version of yourself sitting here in the summer days, reading or just watching. In the evenings you were too busy sneaking out the back gate to do such things. You smile as you recall your reckless, teenage activities. You sigh and look down at your watch. Your dad won't be home for a couple more hours. A nap probably would serve you well. Before you get up, you feel your phone buzz again. It's your dad.
"Hey sweetheart I see you made it to the house. I completely forgot Joel said he was picking up some tools I borrowed from him last week. He knows the garage code, but didn't want you to be alarmed if he's there before I get home. See you soon xx"
You found yourself staring at the text... would Mr. Miller ...Joel, you correct yourself, would he even remember me? In the spirit of southern hospitality you decide to get dressed in something that does smell like the airport and go downstairs when you hear the garage opening. You walk through the front door and out towards the driveway where Joel is loading some tools in the back of his pick up truck. He glances up at you and a wide smile forms across his face. "Well hey!" He says. "Your dad told me you were coming in... welcome home!" The words warm your heart. This was home for sure. "Thanks, I'm glad to be back. Even just for the summer!" God his arms look good in that t-shirt... "well I know your old man is happy you're here. Hasn't shut up about you comin' for the last few weeks. 'Course I get it, countin' down the days 'till Sarah gets back myself." You giggle at the comment of your dad's excitement about your arrival. "Yeah dad told me she's with her mom for the summer right?" Joel nods closing the back of the pick up. "Yeah that's right." You noted a twinge of sadness in his voice. "I'm sorry I'm sure that's hard...I mean I know she loves being with her mom and you too. Of course she'll be back for school in the fall, but still I'm sure the summer feels different with out her. I'm not a parent though so I really have no idea what I'm talking about." You fumbled through this response and ended with a nervous laugh. Joel didn't mind. He looked at you with those fucking puppy dog eyes that could make you melt. He laughed too you were pretty sure the laugh was more at you than with you, but you kind of deserved it you figured. "You're sweet, yeah she's having a blast with her mom and that's all that really matters. Your dad has been putting up with me a lot. With an empty and quiet house it's just not the same, and he's been havin' me over lots" "Well I'm sure he appreciates the company too" you couldn't help but feel a little guilt that you had possibly made your dad feel the same emotions as Joel. "Well I gotta run, but I'm sure I'll be seein' you around. Good to see ya Darlin'" you waved as he pulled out of your driveway, grateful that he was probably too far away to see the blush on your cheeks.
The next few days went by with not much to remark on. On Friday your dad mentioned that Joel would be coming over for dinner tomorrow. You told yourself it was time to act like an adult and put this girlish crush out of your mind. Joel was at least 10 years your senior and he was a close friend of your dad, In fact these fantasies are simply degrading to him or disrespectful. You're not sure of the right word, but he's a person with a life and feelings and things he's going through. To make him the object of your fantasies was wrong, you decided.
Saturday evening came around and your dad was in the back grilling and playing his country music on the speaker you had gifted him last Christmas. There was a knock and the door and the sound of Joel's voice echoing through the entry way. You didn't bother coming out of the kitchen, knowing he would come to you. Your back was turned, focusing on the sangria recipe you were sure wouldn't turn out the way you wanted. "My dad's outback." You said gesturing to the back door. " I'm sorry, where are my manners!" You turned to open the fridge and pull out beer for Joel. "You ain't gotta make a fuss darlin' is just me" Joel chuckled. You wished he would stop calling you that, but you also hoped he never would. Joel y through the utensil draw to find the bottle opener. He asked about your day and you asked about his. "I can't get over how much you've grown up" he said at one point. "Yeah o guess the last time you would have seen me I was a lanky teenager with braces" you laughed and so did he. "I think you're right... if I recall you were just about the death of your old man when you were that age." You shrugged. "Yup that's about right. I had a nack for getting into trouble." He laughed that wonderful deep laugh and said "well you turned out alright, kid"
The rest of the evening you debated whether Joel saw you more as a grown woman or a kid. He had referred to you as both in a matter of minutes...so which was it? "What's on your mind kiddo?" Your dad's voice snapped you back to reality. "Oh ..um, nothing honestly. I'm just kind of tired today for some reason." You were both in the kitchen, Joel was still in the back yard getting ready to light a cigar. "Baby why don't you go upstairs and rest. I'll make sure to kick Mr. Miller here out if we get to rowdy." He said that last part loud enough for Joel to hear. "Dad jokes.." you mutter to yourself as you climb the stairs to the second floor of the house. Your bedroom is on the front end of the house, so by they time you get there, no noise from your dad and Joel can be heard. The sound of the shower in the bathroom drowned out the noise of your phone buzzing on your nightstand. When you exited the shower there was a missed call from "Ben" Ben Sinclair was your on again, off again boyfriend for the last 4 ish years. This time you were done. You had been broken up for a month this time and you told him (in no uncertain terms!) this was it. So what could he possibly want tonight...

𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐀 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑

in which connor is left to pick up the pieces after losing y/n.
warnings; death (mentions suicide and mental health issues), connor having to grow up quickly, grief
based off of last words of a shooting star by mitski
all of this turbulence wasn't forecasted, apologies from the intercom
and i am relieved that i left my room tidy
they'll think of me fondly when they come for my things
Time does not stop for one person’s death. Nor does it stop for a million deaths. Time is a cold and cruel concept that remains hidden despite standing in the light. People forget that just because something breaks doesn’t mean that the rest of the world is affected by it.
Connor sat in the driver's seat of his 2008 Honda Civic, his eyes focusing on the neighborhood road in front of him. Christmas lights were shining brightly all around him, but the boy's heart and mind didn't reciprocate the brightness surrounding him. Instead, his soul was sad as he looked up from the road, his eyes meeting your childhood home. The same childhood home in which you and Connor first met.
A five year old Connor stood nervously at your doorstep, his light brown hair blowing mindlessly in the wind. His arms were loaded with a tray of cookies that his mom had made. Your family had recently moved to North Vancouver from what the Bedards presumed was the United States, seeing as an American flag was displayed above your garage. As your new next door neighbors, his mom took it upon herself to welcome you to the neighborhood, and there was no better way to do so than a five year old with cookies.
The door swung open and Connor was met with a woman, who he later learned was your mom, and you, his newfound best friend. From then on, you and Connor became inseparable.
The same childhood home in which you and Connor had late night conversations through cup phones.
Funnily enough, Connor soon learned that his bedroom was exactly across the way from yours. What began as small waves to each other when you both realized the other was in their room, quickly turned into both of you cracking your windows open to have full-fledged conversations with each other. As the years went by and you and Connor grew older, you decided that that wasn't enough, and brought it up with Connor that night before going to bed. The next morning, you woke up to a cup phone sitting on your bedroom desk, and a long piece of yarn attached to it. It didn't take long for you to discover that the cup lead to Connor's room. It did, however, take a little while to discover a note that Connor had left for you.
"you left your window open, so i figured there was no better time to do this. i spent all night finishing this - i even drew a dog on your cup because i know you like them so much! - connor".
The same childhood home in which you and Connor realized you loved each other.
Now teenagers, it was evident that there was something going on between you and Connor. However, it seemed as if everyone but the two of you were aware of it. Both his mom and dad and your mom and dad had sworn that the two of you were going to grow up and get married, and his sister always claimed that she would be the maid of honor, but both you and Connor swore that the two of you were only best friends, and that's all that you guys would ever be.
However, that all changed the morning of your 16th birthday. Connor had turned 16 a few months prior, and he spent the days leading up to it driving around town to acquire the decorations needed to decorate. The night before your 16th, you and Connor had planned a sleepover. Little did you know, however, that while you were fast asleep in one of Connor's Regina Pats t-shirts, he had spent another night wide awake for you, just to decorate his kitchen in order to surpise you.
When you woke up the next morning, Connor was nowhere to be found in his sleeping bag on the floor (the boy let you take his bed so you'd be more comfortable, and despite your protests, he insisted). Confused, you got out of bed, and were immediately hit with the soft sound of music and the crackling of bacon. You softly smiled to yourself as you made your way down the stairs, expecting to be met with Mrs. Bedard, but instead, you found Connor hunched over the stovetop, grilling the bacon.
His hair was disheveled and he was wearing his favorite Regina Pats hoodie, gray sweatpants adorning his legs. You stood there for a bit before making your presence known, snaking a hug around Connor's waist as you noticed all of the decorations around you, "Happy birthday, sunshine."
You let out a soft gasp as you took in the sight around you, your eyes admiring all of the work Connor had put in just for you. He smiled as your eyes twinkled in excitement, mentally celebrating to himself as he realized how much you loved everything, "Connor, you shouldn't have... this is amazing, thank you. I don't think anything can make this day better."
His smile grew even bigger, which he didn't know was even possible. As you went around the kitchen to admire the decorations up close, Connor went back to cooking the bacon. The random playlist he had on shuffled through a few songs, and soon landed on 'At Last' by Etta James. You grinned, heading over to Connor.
"Con, I think I have found something that can make this day better."
"And what is that?" "Dance with me."
Connor didn't protest. Instead, he turned around and placed one hand on your shoulder and the other on your waist, and the two of you began to slow dance around the kitchen to the soft voice of Etta James. Despite no words being exchanged between the two of you, both you and Connor could feel the love you had for each other. After all, love understands love - it needs no talk.
The same childhood home in which you eventually took your life.
Connor knew you were struggling. From the moment he had met you, he had the ability to read you like an open book. So when you became quieter shortly after your sweet sixteen, he became concerned. At first, you tried to blame it on stress from school and extracurriculars in an attempt to reassure him, but Connor could see right through you. He knew you were hurting, but what he didn't know was that you were never going to recover from this pain.
Although Connor wasn't home all the time, he would send you encouraging text messages every morning and would talk with you every night on the phone, for hours on end, though your cell phones couldn't compare to the cup phones that still hung between your guys' bedroom windows. He even asked his parents and Madi to keep a closer eye on you when he was gone.
He was in Regina when it happened. His parents had come to see him play against the Everett Silvertips, and were planning on staying for the weekend to catch up with him. His day was going great, and he didn’t think anything could have ruined it. That was until after the game, when he had tried to call you - multiple times - to check in on you and make sure you were doing okay. Each and every time he called, he was met with your voicemail. A pit of concern was growing in his stomach, but he tried to settle it by convincing himself that you had fallen asleep and we’re okay. When he had gotten back to his apartment after the game, however, the worry in his stomach only grew when he saw his parents sitting on his couch, both teary-eyed.
“Connor…” he made eye contact with his mom, who could barely hold herself together. Somehow, he had put the pieces together - it was about Y/N, and it wasn’t good - but he still felt the need to ask about her before jumping to conclusions.
“Y/N’s fine, right? She’s just sleeping, or driving, which is why she’s not answering any of my calls?” Connor asked warily, his voice shaky. His mom only cried harder at her son’s question and his dad sighed, squeezing his eyes shut. Connor hesitated for a moment before speaking again, his eyes glassy, his head shaking in disbelief, “She’s not… she’s not dead, right? She can’t be.”
“She’s gone, Connor,” his dad replied, his heart breaking at the state his son was already in, “Her mom called us a bit ago. She committed suicide.”
“No!” Connor shouted, his mouth curving into an upward smile of pure shock, “You’re lying to me! Y/N’s not dead, she can’t be!” he pulled out his phone again and began to dial her phone number, “If I call her right now she’ll answer me. She was just taking a nap!”
Immediately, Connor’s mom got up to hug him and at that moment, he knew she was gone. His best friend, his love, the one person who knew him more than anyone else in the entire world, was gone. He dropped his phone and let out a blood-curdling scream, falling to his knees as his mom tried to keep up with him. His dad joined his wife and son on the floor as the the three Bedards grieved together, knowing they would never again get to see sweet and beautiful Y/N Y/L/N.
Your funeral had been the hardest part for Connor. There wasn't much crying during the actual procession, except from him. As your dad, his dad, Kent Johnson, Tanner Hayes, your cousin and him were carrying your casket down the aisle of the church, tears rolled down the young boy's lightly-freckled cheeks like a flowing waterfall.
During your actual burial, however, things were the exact opposite, Connor felt numb, and couldn't process that you were actually gone. However, the others realized that they would never, ever hear your voice again. They would never again get to see your smile, or hear your contagious laugh. Madi and Mrs. Bedard shook in each other's arms, trying their best to comfort one another. Your mom trembled as your dad rubbed her back softly. A group of your cousins all huddled together in a heartbreaking group hug. Connor’s dad really tried his best to hold it together for everybody else, but when he saw the casket being lowered into the ground, he broke. You had been like a daughter to him. He pretty much knew that his son was going to grow up to marry you. Mr. Bedard collapsed to the ground on his knees, his heart breaking more and more each second. But then there was Connor - absolutely no expression on his face whatsoever. He couldn't feel anything.
Here Connor was, sitting in his car a year later. The Blackhawks had given him a break to be with family during this time, specifically after Nick Foligno had seen how broken the kid was over the situation. He could see your mom and dad having dinner through the window, but he knew it wasn’t the same. They had left an empty chair, plate and silverware out on the table for every meal after you had left.
The cup phones were still hanging between his bedroom and yours. Connor didn’t have the heart to take them down - if they remained up, the two of you would still be connected in some way, and although that way wasn’t ideal, it was better than nothing.
The American flag was still up, but by now was joined by a Canadian one as well. Things were different now, but not for the better.
Connor reached over to his passenger seat, in which sat a gift-wrapped box. Your parents had given it to him on Christmas Day last year, explaining that it was the gift that you were going to give him that day. He thanked them kindly, but didn’t have the heart to open it. He needed some more time before he could face the memories of you again.
He was finally ready. Connor wiped off some dust particles from the year old wrapping paper before carefully moving to untie the bow of ribbon on top of the present - it was your signature move. When he managed to unwrap the wrapping paper and open the box, tears came to his eyes immediately.
A handmade blanket was revealed to him. In the very center, the fabric of his old Regina Pats t-shirt - the one you were wearing when you guys realized you loved each other - was revealed, and ‘Bedard - 98’ was written across. Another square of fabric was a piece of your baby blanket, on which your warm scent still lingered. Connor gripped the blanket close as if he was physically holding you in his arms, as if you were physically here with him.
For the first time in a year, Connor allowed himself to grieve. He missed you so much, and desperately wished you were back in his arms, but finally realized that the world goes on. Once again, time does not stop for one person’s death. Nor does it stop for a million deaths. Time is a cold and cruel concept that remains hidden despite standing in the light. People forget that just because something breaks doesn’t mean that the rest of the world is affected by it.
For awhile, Connor thought he could’ve saved her. He thought his love for her was enough to show her the beauty and goodness of the world which can so often be cruel. Connor loved Y/N in many ways, and the fact is that the blue-eyed boy could've loved her in an infinite number of ways, but really, he could've never loved her in a way that was enough to make her stay.
That’s just something Connor Bedard would have to live with for the rest of his life.
an; merry christmas and happy holidays i guess???

------------------------------------------
It has been a hell of a week at work, well more like ever since you started working there. You finally had it with your boss and told her to stick her job up her ass and that you quit. Packing your stuff and heading home, you decided to stop in at your boyfriend's place to tell him you did what you wanted to do for so long. Maybe he would feel sorry for you and buy you some dinner. When you got to his apartment, his door was a jar and you instantly thought he had been broken into. Slowly you pushed the door open, nothing was out of place and everything looked fine. Then you heard some noise coming from the bedroom. Walking towards the door and swinging it open you see your boyfriend in bed with another woman. Talk about the final nail in the coffin.
Storming out of his apartment and heading back to your place, closing the door behind you and sinking to the floor "Fuck! What the fuck is happening!?". Pulling yourself together, getting off the floor, and deciding to get rid of the pictures you have around your place until you found a family photo. Your mom, dad, and your older brother. It's the only place you wanted to be right now so you give your dad a call.
"Hey, dad! I was wondering if I could move back home for a bit?"
"Of course honey! We would love to have you home! Is everything okay?"
"Thanks, dad, I'll tell you everything when I get there. I'm gonna pack a few things and then I'll be on my way. Love you. See you soon!"
In minutes you had your bag packed and you were on your way home. This will be just what you needed, going back to your roots. Fresh start. The drive home was relaxing, you listened to music the whole way, loudly. Your now ex never liked the radio up loud in the car. Everything was under your rules now and there was no turning back! It wasn't a long trip home, just about 3 hour drive. All your childhood memories came flooding back as you drove into the neighborhood. Flashbacks to riding your bike along with your childhood friend. As you pulled into the driveway, turning your car off, your dad was already waiting for you at the door with a big smile on his face. Running to him and wrapping your arms around him.
"Thanks for letting me come home"
"You're allowed to come home whenever you need to honey, no questions asked"
Heading inside to the kitchen, your dad made you some tea and a snack.
"It will be just you and I for a few days. Your mom is having a few nights out with her friends"
"That's okay, I'm glad she's out having fun. Did you have anything planned while she was gone?"
"No, just the regular night in with Bucky, drinks, and whatever sport is on. Or we will play poker. He will be over tomorrow evening and he sometimes stays. You don't mind?"
"Not at all dad, I don't mind at all. It will be nice to see Bucky again. Haven't seen him since I left for college. Wow, that's a long time ago"
It was true, you hadn't seen Bucky in years. You always had a teenage crush on him. You couldn't help but think how he looks now. Putting your cup and plate away then heading upstairs to your old room. Everything was just as you left it. You were exhausted from the trip and telling your dad everything that happened. Just wanting to sleep and forget about this whole day. Climbing into bed and falling asleep as soon as your head hit the pillow.
_____**______
The next morning, you woke up to the smell of bacon. Heading downstairs and heading into the kitchen to see your dad made a full breakfast, eggs, bacon, and pancakes. He remembered just how to cheer you up after everything that's happened.
"Good morning honey! Just making some coffee. Take a seat, pancakes are almost done"
"Thank you, dad, you didn't have to you know"
"Shh, I'm just happy to have you home with me" You smile and start eating your eggs and bacon then your dad brings over the pancakes.
"So, what time is Bucky coming over?"
"He comes over at around 7. I was thinking your car could do with a wash, wanna help after we're done here?"
"Sure, dad! But don't you have to -"
"I don't mind at all but take your time, and make sure you eat" You smile again and go back to eating. Then grabbing some coffee. Looking out the back window, watching your dad get everything ready to start washing your car. You head upstairs and change and meet him out there.
You both spent most of the afternoon washing your car, you couldn't help but mess with your dad throwing water at him but he knew you were just having some fun. He wanted you to have that big smile on your face.
"Do you want me to go out for a few hours so you can have your guy's night tonight?"
"No honey, you don't have to leave. We spend most of the night in the living room. You won't be bothering us"
"Okay, well I'll just have my dinner and head upstairs, watch a couple of movies"
"You could always join us if you want"
"Then it wouldn't be boy's night" You laugh.
"I'm gonna head in and get cleaned up" Dropping your bucket and sponge, you head inside and upstairs to shower.
After your shower, you headed back downstairs to make yourself some dinner. After the day you had yesterday, this called for a big bowl of pasta. Just as you sat down at the kitchen island to eat, the doorbell rang "Oh hon, that's Buck. Will you let him in, please? I'll be there in a minute."
"Sure!" Getting up and going to answer the door. When you open the door you see a very handsome man standing before you. He looks older, you can see the bits of grey in his beard.
"Hi, Bucky!"
He stands there mouth hanging open as he looks at you.
"Y/N What are you doing home? Did your dad cancel? I didn't get a message or anything."
"No, he didn't cancel Bucky. I didn't want to interrupt your night. Come on in, I'm sure you know where the living room is"
"Thanks, doll, you didn't answer my question though," He says as he walks past you and turns to look at you.
"What are you doing home? Something happen? Are you okay?"
"I just needed some time, I'm okay" It's like he can sense that something has happened, you didn't want to get into it again though and you didn't want him feeling sorry for you.
"Dad will be with you in a few minutes, I'm going back to the kitchen to eat my food before it goes cold. See you later."
Heading back into the kitchen and sitting back at the island. You could see Bucky come in seconds after you and put his beers in the fridge. You have your back turned to him but you can feel his eyes on you. Sitting there, eating your dinner, scrolling through your phone till you see him out the corner of your eye, then he is in full view and leans against the kitchen counter.
"So, I haven't seen you since you left town with that boyfriend of yours for your new job" He smiles. "Yeah, a long time ago, and now I don't have either of them"
"What?"
"New start. No more assholes"
He moves beside you at the island placing his hand on your shoulder. "Are you okay baby girl?"
"Yeah Bucky, I'm fine" You give him a sweet smile and move off your chair, leaving your plate in the sink.
"Cause you know I'll take care of him, just give me the word"
Moving over to him and placing your hand on his cheek and kissing him on his other cheek, then looking into his eyes. You feel his hand placed on your hip. "No need Bucky, He's already miserable without me". Where is this confidence coming from? He smiles and you leave to go back to your room.
A little while has passed and you're sitting comfortably on your bed looking through the job section on your laptop. You could hear them downstairs laughing and shouting at the TV, well mostly your dad shouting but you could hear Bucky laughing too and it made you smile. Then the daydreaming started. Thinking about back into the kitchen after kissing his cheek, leaning in again, and kissing his lips. It left tingles all over your body. Your phone ringing pulled you out of your daydream, it was your brother.
"Hello?"
"Hey Y/N you at your apartment? Need a place to crash for the night. Had a couple of drinks, can't drive"
"No, I'm back at mom and dad's, don't go to my apartment"
"Why?"
"Long story"
"Okay, um, can you get dad on the phone please?"
"Yeah, sure, give me a minute". Hopping off your bed, you made your way downstairs and gave your phone to your dad. He left the room and you turned to Bucky.
"Having a good evening?"
You noticed his eyes on your legs, then his eyes snapped up to yours. You had forgotten that you changed into something more comfortable to lounge around in. Just an oversized shirt of your dad's. Bucky smirks at you.
"What?"
"You look good in my t-shirt sweetheart"
"Oh, this is yours? Thanks, it's nice and comfy" Your dad comes back into the room.
"Honey, I have to go pick your brother up and take him home. I'll be about an hour or more till I get back. Rain check Bucky?"
"Um, dad?"
"Yeah, honey?"
"Can Bucky stay? I don't wanna be alone"
"You mind Buck?"
"Not at all, I'll stay till you get back"
"Thanks, I'll be as quick as I can"
"Drive safe!"
He grabs his keys and heads out the door. "Can I get you a beer doll?"
"Sure, that would be nice" He gets up and heads to the kitchen to grab one for you while you take a seat on the couch. He comes back into the living room handing you your beer. "Thanks, Bucky, sorry your boy's night got ruined"
He sits beside you on the couch. "It's okay doll there's not a whole log going on anyway" He stretches his arm over the back of the couch behind you "So you gonna tell me what happened?"
"Why?"
"Well, do I need to beat him up?"
"He's definitely not worth it. I just need to get the strength to get my stuff out of that apartment"
"I can help you with that"
"That would be nice Buck. God I don't even wanna see him"
"You won't have to doll. Tell me what he did."
"I came home from work after an awful day and told my boss to stick her job up her ass"
"Good, I'm proud of you"
"Thanks" You smile sweetly at him and then it fades. "When I got to his apartment, I found him in bed with a tall blonde. She was everything I'm not. I left, and decided to come home"
"I'm glad you did sweetheart, you don't need that"
"Yeah, been thinking about going blonde"
"Don't you dare, do not change because of that asshole."
Looking at him and smiling, your eyes moving from his lips to his eyes and back to his lips again, leaning in and kissing his lips softly. "Um, what was that for doll?"
"Just shut up and kiss me James" Placing your hands around his neck and kissing him deeply then he pushes you away gently.
"Sweetheart we can't do this, your dad will kill me"
"Who's gonna tell him?" He looks at you surprised
"A-are you sure?"
"Yes James, show me how a real man treats a woman" Bucky leans back in, his lips crashing against yours in a bruising kiss. You don't waste any time and slip your panties off from under your oversized shirt and climbed onto his lap, kissing him deeply and grinding against his jeans. He's already hard, you feel him through his jeans.
"Well, you don't waste any time getting hard huh?"
"Oh baby, I've been rock hard ever since you opened the front door to let me in"
Wasting no time and undoing his jeans and zip, reaching in and wrapping your hand around his cock. Bucky's head falls back on the couch as you slowly stroke him. His tip already leaking pre cum. Wping it with your thumb and bringing it to your mouth and moaning at the taste. "Shit baby girl, you're killing me here. You not gonna let me taste you?"
Taking your other hand and bringing it to your core and pushing two fingers inside yourself, taking them out and rubbing the tip of his cock through your folds and lining him up. Pushing your fingers into his mouth as you slip down on his cock, both of you moaning together. Your reaction had both pleasure and pain. Bucky was bigger than your ex, the sting adding to the pleasure as he slipped in more. He left you to take control so that he doesn't hurt you. He was sucking on your fingers greedily and moaning at the taste of your pussy.
Bucky pulls you closer to him, pulling your shirt up and moving your bralet, taking your nipple into his mouth. You hissed at the feeling and he did the same with your other nipple and gently biting at your skin. Pulling his head up and kissing him again as his hands now rest on your hips. Looking into his eyes, you start to move your hips back and forth, gently at first. Once your pain had stopped from the stretch of his cock, you were overwhelmed with pleasure. He let you have control, and you gently rocked back and forth on his cock. You couldn't help moaning "F-Fuck Bucky!"
Leaning your head back as he attacks your neck with kisses as he lifts his hips to meet yours, pushing his cock deeper.
"Your pussy feels so fucking good doll, so fucking tight and perfect"
"I'm close Bucky! I'm gonna cum!"
"Cum all over my cock baby it's all yours"
His hands help you move back and forth on his cock. His fingertips dig into your skin as you move. He moans against your skin as your pussy tightens around him
"Fuck! Oh, FUCK!"
Moaning against his lips as you kiss him, his hands still on your hips moving you back and forth on him. Your body jerks, coming down from the high.
Pushing your hair out of your face, he looks deep into your eyes. "Are you okay?" All you can do is nod. Bucky's hands move from your hips to your back as he kisses you passionately as he moves to lay you down on the couch, grabbing one of the cushions to lay your head on. You both smile at one another while exchanging kisses. His hand moves down your side holding your hip, once again as he holds you in place as he pushes his cock into you again. Your breath hitches as you feel the stretch again. You knew from this moment that no one else would give you this feeling. Bucky slowly out and back in again. He grunts softly as he fills you. "Bucky, faster, please"
His movements pick up, he's hitting a new spot and you can't help moaning. Your moans fill the room. Wrapping your legs around his waist pulling him closer. Sneaking your hand down between your bodies and starting to massage your clit. Bucky grabs your hand and holds it to the couch. His hips move faster, the sound of skin slapping and both of you moaning filling the living room.
"I'm getting close doll, I'm gonna pull out though okay?"
"No, please don't, I'm on the pill. Please don't stop I'm so close again"
He buries his head in the crook of your neck as his movements become a little sloppy.
"Yes, Bucky! Right there oh god fuck!" You moan as your orgasm washes over you. Your pussy clenching around his cock as you come sending Bucky into his own orgasm.
He moans into your neck as his movements become slower. Bringing his head back up and kissing you softly, then he rests his head against yours and you both smile. You don't know how long you have been there on the couch but you don't want it to end. Never thought this would be your happy ending to the week you've had. Then you see headlights shine through the window and car doors closing, your dad and your brother laughing.
"Shit! they're back! I gotta go upstairs!" You get up quickly fix your shirt and run out the door and to the stairs. Bucky quickly fixes himself up and runs behind you "This only a one-night thing?"
Turning to him quickly and kissing him.
"It doesn't have to be, I'll see you around" Smiling and then running upstairs. Bucky smiles and rubs the back of his head turning back into the living room. He sees your panties on the floor and quickly picks them up and shoves them into his pocket. Your dad comes inside "Hey Buck" You're still here?"
"Yeah, um, I gotta go though. Give me a call when you wanna have a game night or whatever" He quickly leaves your house and makes his way home.
A few hours later when everyone is asleep, you sneak downstairs to get Bucky's number from your dad’s phone and you send him a text.
"Hey, it's Y/N. Still wanna help me get my stuff from my apartment?"

Oh, baby, where are you now when I need you most?
I'd give it all just to hold you close
~
The morning sunlight seeps through a crack in the curtain, illuminating the hotel room in a soft glow. Your eyes crack open at the breech of your slumber, as you take in the unfamiliar setting. Usually, in a situation of waking up to unknown territory your heart would skip to your throat and panic would set in, if it weren’t for the warm body and heavy breathing encased close behind you. One large, muscular arm keeping you in place draped over your waist and an all too familiar hint of yesterdays cologne and musk relaxes you into a blissed-out morning attitude. Behind you, of course, is Joel. Joel of contractor and fourth of July barbecue fame in your neighborhood. The man who you had been crushing on since you were a teenager, and now, with your transition into university and spending time apart from your hometown and the residents, coming back meant that you have changed.
You left a naive teenager with a passion for history and came back as a young adult, ready and willing for what life through at you. And no one had noticed this change more than Joel. Taking extra-long glances at you as your back was turned whilst you were studying in the living room, taking peaks at your ass as you bent over to grab yourself a beer from the fridge, oh so kindly provided by your father, and oh god almighty, who could forget the pet names, anything from ‘honey’ to ‘pretty girl’ which, admittedly, use to just be a friendly affirmation of care from the older man, but now sent an electric shock of arousal straight to your core.
There was one slight problem to both of your developing feelings was the Joel was your father’s best friend. Although you and your father were somewhat close, after your mother had decided to bail and your new slutty stepmother had been brought into the mix of your home life, your not-so-subtle feelings of despise toward the woman were apparent. Of course, you wanted your dad to be happy but CMON... did it have to be with Slutty Steph who flirted with quite literally every man who came within a 3-mile radius of the woman?
In your trips back from university to home over the past six months, your “friendship” with Joel had grown into the two of you flirting back and forth with hearty banter which always led to a filthy comment from either of you- (“What would my father think if I told him, you were just checking out my tits, old man” you shot at him with a smirk. “I would simply tell him his darling little girl was wearing these low-cut shirts only when she knew his best friend was coming over”, he retorted, his breath hot in you ear as he brought his hand up to grip your bare waist under your crop top.). Eventually the flirting turned to a sloppy make out sesh one night when your father had gone to bed early and left the two of you with a bottle and a half left of wine. After that night, every time you would come home from university, the two of you would secretly meet up, either to make out and explore each other’s bodies in the back of his truck, or to dip out of a neighborhood get together so he could have your up against a door, blocking anyone’s unwelcomed entry, as he held you with one huge hand under your thighs and another laced your waist, as he whispered the most filthy string of words known to mankind in your ear as you moaned softly as his cock twitched inside you and he fucked up into you at a brutal pace . Eventually, the hand on your waist would have to be brought up to your mouth to cover your moaning as he pushed deeper and deeper into you, the top of his large cock hitting your g-spot at just the right angle, this, accompanied by the leud sounds of slapping thighs and wet noises throwing you over the edge, with his hand still pressed to your mouth as you came, hard, party makeup and mascara running down your cheeks as you squeezed your eyes shut and shook in his arms as he fucked you through your high. It wouldn’t take long for his thrusting to get sloppy after you clench around him tight and he would cum deep inside you, holding you still as he stayed in your pussy, muttering praises of, “that’s my sweet girl, god almighty you did so well baby, squeezing me tight like that. Such a good girl for me, always”. This within itself almost made you come again, but soon enough, after he had gone limp and after a few more slow thrusts, the two of your would have to clean yourselves up and go back out to the familiar faces of your neighbors, pretending a man twice your ages and twice your size in height and muscle hadn’t just fucked you so hard against a bedroom door that your knees were now jello and the shirt you had changed into had a higher neckline to avoid suspicious glares at the many bitemarks and hickeys decorating your neck.
Joel, being the most eligible bachelor in the town, or so your high school friends commented one night when you were out smoking in her car on a university break, always had looks from women, mostly his own age, who were so eager to settle down with the respectable, stable (and ever so filthy) man. Sometimes you thought these little neighborhood parties your dad (and Joel too) would insist you come to were just ways that he could find someone and settle down finally. I guess everyone hoped so, or they hoped that they would be the one he would choose. I mean, with his structured face and messy brown curls, his patchy yet groomed beard, muscular arms, giant hands and not to mention the ever-present bulge in his jeans, all the grown woman in the neighborhood would swoon when he entered. He entertained their boring conversations about work and sometimes ever their husbands, but hell, you would never admit to the jealousy it made you feel. Sometimes, after one too many and a boiling of envy in your veins, you would retreat into the house of whichever neighbor had the honors of hosting and lay on the couch so as not to see the women drooling over the guy you were fucking on a regular basis. The one who was so handsome when he got down on his knees between your legs after racing to your fathers house, knowing he was at work. He would kiss and thrust his fingers into your tight hole until you came around them, back arching and moaning so loud you were surprised you didn’t get a noise complaint. The one who, afterwards, would tangle his hands in your hair as he pulled you onto his lap, feeling his achingly hard cock swell against you as your lips collided, sloppy and lovingly, tasting yourself on his tongue. The one who would whisper how sweet you tasted and who always praised you with a “good girl” after taking his cock so deep it would leave you aching for days.
When you were in the house, having the much needed lie down after your subtle (or so you thought) jealous outbreak, it wasn’t long before guess who wanders through the sliding door into the living room, which you’ve occupied. “Sweetheart…”, he drawls in a knowing tone, “Let’s get you to bed”. His voice is low as he leans against the door, one hand placed on his hip while the other rests on his thigh right next to where his jeans look awfully tight. Your jealousy is quickly forgotten in your drunken state, as you feel yourself get slightly wet from his muscular stance and understanding smirk. He noticed your absence and came looking; that’s gotta be something... right? “Why don’t you join me”, you coo, narrowing your eyes and moving your arm slightly to lean on your side, thus emphasizing your breasts in your lowcut shirt. He grins to himself, rubbing his bead as he adjusts his jeans around his crotch. “C’mon, then, bedtime for you”. He steps over. “Weeeeeeeee”, you exclaim as he picks you up bridal style, giggling the whole time. “Are you taking me for round two?”, you giggle, throwing your arms around his neck and looking at him doe eyed. “You”, he gives you a kiss on the forehead once you are both halfway up the stair, “need to sleep it over, sugar”. He puts you down in a room and gently kisses your forehead again, “G’night pretty girl”, he whispers. You smile up at him, drunk and looking with such fascination at the attractive older man. “You’re the pretty one”, you whisper, before he chokes back a laugh and kisses you softly on the lips. “Get some sleep, sweetheart, I’ll check on you tomorrow”.
At first it had just seemed like simple fun. Two grown adults fucking around with each other when you came home from university every few weeks for a break. Despite being your dad’s best friend, Joel spent an ungodly amount of time with you, either when you were staying, and you two fucked in private, or when you were back at university, and you would receive those oh so delicious late night calls of him stroking himself, telling you he had been thinking about you and asking when you were coming home so he could taste how sweet you were again. You were glad your roommate had left earlier in the year, leaving the dorm to yourself, because your moans mixed with Joel’s filthy words of pleasure and praise as you rubbed your clit and eased two fingers inside of you while his hand gripped his cock had you both climaxing at the thought of each other and, to be frank, neither of you were very quiet about it. God, your fingers did nothing compared to having his cock inside you; hell, even his fingers.
“I miss you, doll, when are you back.”
“Joel… I was there last week”, you giggled, breathlessly after you came down from your hig.
“I know, I just miss you is all”, he smiled, rubbing his beard, “I’ve been thinking about you a lot actually, I just wanna make sure that uni is taking care of my sweet girl”.
After a few hours and a knowing of morning sleep deprivation because of the call carrying into the early hour of the dawn, you both hung up. You felt different, you couldn’t stop smiling at the thought of them. That is when you knew that, maybe, you had fucked up a little. It wasn’t just a casual meet and fuck when you were in town anymore. You were both thinking about each other when you were alone and when together, the sparks would fly. But… you couldn’t be in love with your father’s best friend. It was out of the question. Shit… what if he found out? What the hell would he do? You started to overthink and the more you did, you were drawn back to his words, “I miss you” “MY sweet girl”. You decided that you needed to talk to him, fuck it. He would know what to do, and there were only really two options of what could happen. You could tell him your feelings and he could laugh at you and shut it down, maybe even coming to the realization that you were indeed his best friend’s daughter and perhaps this was a bad idea; (despite how fucking incredible you looked when you were straddling him, leaned back a little to take him deeper as you bounced on his cock, riding him so good. He would often come back to that image late at night when he gripped himself and jerked at a rapid pace, pretending he was inside your tight hole). The other option was too exciting to even think about, but you knew it wasn’t exactly ideal… or that he would feel the same. “Sure, he misses you. He misses fucking you, is all”, you speculate to yourself. He is a grown ass man, he has been fucking women since before you were born, what makes you think he is going to want you? A third-year uni student who, may I reiterate, has been his father’s best friend for the better part of roughly seven years. You sigh to yourself as you sit in bed, your textbooks discarded to the side as you squeeze your eyes shut, trying not to cry at the inevitable fate of your quick fling with Joel. You decided, fuck it, and sent Joel a text that you needed to talk to him.
And this all had led you here, lying in a hotel room in your university town with your dad’s best friend wedged behind you, naked and fast asleep. Despite your groggy state you think back to yesterday’s events. You had texted him in the morning, throwing your phone aside because of nerves but after the familiar ding a few minutes later, you took a peak and, low and behold, a message from Joel saying he would be there soon. Your nervy state only jumped at this, your uni town was two hours from home, and he was wiling to come today to talk. “Calm down” you told yourself, “It’s not going to go like that”. You laid back down, trying to ease your anxiety, before hopping in the shower to wash off all the unwanted nervousness and brace yourself for tonight. Late notice aside, he had been out front of your dorm by midafternoon, leaning against his truck, sunglasses and a t shirt stretching over the expanse of his chest, tight jeans (thank god for your sunglasses because lord forgive, your eyes immediate go there) and his arms folded. He grins upon seeing you, “There she is”, he chuckled pushing himself up from his truck and untucking his arms to greet you with a strong, warm hug. His cologne fills your senses, making you feel at home again, in his arms. He places a kiss to your forehead, opening the truck door for you as you both speed off away from the uni and through town.
Despite the nerves still kicking in your system, you start to make conversation.
“So, why come all the way down here”, you start, looking at his side profile from the passenger seat and god, if he doesn’t look beautiful. His strong nose and trimmed beard making up the artwork that is his face.
“Because you wanted to see me, sugar”, he replies, keeping his eyes on the road.
“Yeah, about that, how long are you staying, because this may take a little bit”. You stare down at your hands, fidgeting slightly in your seat.
“I got a hotel room in town, we can talk all night, doll” he chuckles, glancing at you quickly with a grin before returning his gaze to the road.
God, you wish you didn’t have this weight on your shoulder, you wish you could just get this over with and be tucked up in bed to cry yourself to sleep once his definite answer, that being, of course, that you two should end it, is said and finalized.
Once the two of you arrive at this hotel room it is early evening. The sun is caressing the outskirts of the horizon, flaming the coast, as your heart is rapidly thrumming in your chest. Joel kicks off his shoes and drops heavily on the couch provided by the room and you sit rigid on the arm, not daring to meet his gaze and not being able to utter a word as the nerves, not most insistent, claw at your throat. Joel notices and pushing himself into a sitting position, his thighs push apart of his hand falling between his legs as he watches you, waiting, his brow slightly furrowed as if he knows what is about to happen. Only then do you decide to meet his gaze. Fuck it, lets just get it over with.
“I want to, um, I wanted to talk about us”, you start, meeting his gaze briefly before your eyes return to your palm as your other hand rubs it. “And about what you said on the phone the other night”.
Joel is still looking at you, his brow has furrowed out of slight confusion, or what was that concern… maybe?
“I have found”, you begin again, slowly, not daring to look at him, focusing on a spot on the floor where the carpet meets the linoleum of the kitchen. Perhaps if you just get it all off your chest first without waiting for a response, you’ll feel better. “That I enjoy your company. I mean. Besides the sneaking away and fucking and video calls”, you say slowly. “I enjoy spending time with you at the parties and I find myself getting excited when I get a response from you over text, it’s just… maybe I’m delusional Joel but, I think I’m starting to have feelings. And trust me, I know that wasn’t the deal going into all this, and I know that I’m just a fuck to you and it’s thrilling, having that danger to a relationship, such as sleeping with your best friend’s daughter, but I can’t help it”, you voice is wavering and slightly speeding up to get this all over with quicker. You can feel the sting of tears behind your eyes, but you continue, nevertheless. “So please, just tell me that you don’t want anything now and it can be over with. We can go to those shitty neighborhood parties and talk to each other as if nothing happened but please, Joel, if you don’t want this, tell me now.” A hint of a tear drips down your cheek as you finish your dramatic speech. Your heart is trying to break out of your chest and your hands shake slightly at his awaited response. You still don’t meet his gaze. He is still sitting in the same position, frowning slightly as he takes in your words, before he lets out a heavy sigh. A small tense silence engulfs the room.
“I feel the same”, he says, just barely a whisper. Your head whips around to finally meet his gaze. You look down at him from where you are perched on the side of the couch. “I’m honestly surprised you didn’t realize sooner”, he continues, “especially after the call, and what I said to you. When you are gone, I really do miss you, doll, not just the sex, but… you”. He meets you gaze with a tired smile, and you can’t believe your ears. Your towns hottest, most eligible bachelor; the only guy who has made your heart jump like this and, for the record, the only guy who has actually made you come, has reciprocated feelings for you.
You smile lightly at him, “Really?” you choke out through unwanted tears which started at nerve crying turned into happy sobs. He chuckles, reaching his long arm to intertwine your finger with his, “C’mere babygirl”. You push yourself off the arm of the couch and slide into his lap. One hand laces around your waist while the other is on your thigh, holding you steady. His lips meet yours in a closed-mouth kiss. His hand on your waist travels up to tangle in your hair as he inhales a moan from you, using the opportunity to weave his tongue into your mouth, intertwining yours and his in a heated kiss as you grind down on his hardening cock. He pulls away to gaze at your blissed out face, lips swollen and plump, you smile at him through your daze of joy and love for the man in front of you. “My pretty girl”, he says, caressing the back of your hair, bring his hand around to cup your face and running his thumb over your kiss-drunk lips. You kiss the pad of his thumb. “You’re mine, sweetheart, my gorgeous girl”. He uses his thumb to ease open your mouth before reconnecting your lips in a tongue and teeth clashing kiss. “I don’t care if your father finds out”, he says between hot kisses and your uncontrollable light moans, “you’re my girl and that is all that matters to me”. You feel the arousal warming your panties at his words, as he slips his hand from your thigh up your skirt. Feeling how wet you are makes him grin against your lips, “all for me?”, he whispers more so to himself. “All for you”, you confirm, gasping as he slips a finger through your wet folds. Collecting your arousal, he coats his fingers and slips them inside you. Gasping, you grab onto his shoulders for support, as he reconnects your lips with his. You bring your hand up to caress his face, as he pulls your body closer with the hand that’s not inside you. He swallows your moans as you ride his fingers. “Good girl, you’re doing so well for me baby. You’re taking my fingers so well”, he praises, pressing his forehead to yours as you both watch his fingers moving in and out. You feel the coil in your stomach tighten quickly, and you squeeze his fingers. Joel speeds up slightly, your mouth falling open as a string of moans and gasps escape you. “Joel, I’m—I’m gonna “. “That’s its baby, come for me”, Joel whispers, sending you over the edge as your head falls to his shoulders; your teeth meeting the skin there. Your pussy clamps down on his fingers as he continues to move his fingers in and out slowly, riding out your high. When the stimulation gets too much, you bring your hand down to his, moving it out from inside you. You kiss him, ardently, as he brings both muscular arms to engulf you. When you both pull away for air, you notice your bitemark on his should. “Oh shit”, you run your hand over it, “I’m so sorry baby, heat of the moment I guess”, you breathe. He follows your gaze and chuckles, “Sweetheart, I didn’t even feel it”, he assures you, a cheeky, horny look decorating his features, “Besides, I’m sure that’s not going to be the first time tonight”, he chuckles. You roll your eyes, playfully slapping his shoulder as he hoists you up, your legs wrapping around his waist, as he carries you to the hotel bed, lips nudging that sweet spot behind your ear.
The day, which had started out as unwanted nerves and hopelessness, as you mourned the inevitable death of your relationship with your dad’s best friend Joel, had ended so much better than you had expected. And as you feel asleep with your head on his chest, listening to his shallow breathing as one large hand was tucked around your waist, rubbing circles on your bare skin, you couldn’t help but smile. He was yours. Now and always.

Steve had gone on his break, planning on fetching himself and Robin some warm drinks and sweet treats. He headed into the cafe at the end of the block.
It was quiet today, the autumn weather rolling in fast. Leaves turning from green to yellows and oranges, it was beautiful. Although it was damp, drizzling rain fell on him, speeding up to get out of it. Pushing the door open, a small bell jingled above him.
There were a few people sat inside : an older couple, a woman deeply interested in her book, a man and his daughter and two teenagers who were giggling away. Steve smiled, he enjoyed people watching.
Looking up at the boards and the glass cabinets he thought about what to get for Robin - probably opting for the sweetest thing they had.
“Hi, can I help you?” a voice spoke from the counter. Looking up he met your gaze, god you were beautiful. “Uh .. Hi, can I get um,” be cool man, relax, relax.
“Can I please get a hazelnut hot chocolate and a latte please,” he spoke, finally getting his words out. “Sure, is it to drink now?” you smiled.
“Take out please.” He was scared to meet your gaze again, worried he’d be tongue tied and embarrass himself.
He didn’t do as well with girls now as he used too, and well you were probably the most beautiful person he’d ever laid eyes on.
“Okidoki, anything else?” you asked, taking his order into the register. “What’s the sweetest cake you have?” he asked.
“Maybe the brownies? or the millionaires shortbread, they’re both filled with caramel,” you explained, whilst pointing them out in the cabinet.
“Could I get one of each?”
“Sure,” you smiled at him again - secretly hoping he’d meet your gaze, cause gosh he was so pretty. “Okay thats $8.65 all together.” After exchanging cash and change you spoke again, “You can wait here or I’ll bring your things over.”
“I’ll wait,” he spoke gently, “Are you new here?” he asked. He’d been here before a few times and never seen you. “Not really. I don’t normally work this shift it’s all, and if I do I’m normally making cakes out the back,” you told him.
He hummed and nodded as he did so. “You come in here a lot?”
“Me and my friend take it in turns, we work at Family Video down the street.”
“Ah I see,” you nodded as you frothed some milk for the latte.
“I might start asking her if I can come here everytime we’re on together,” he spoke up.
“Oh yeah why’s that?” you asked, mouth curving into a slight smile. “Well there’s this really beautiful barista I’d like to see again.”
You nodded, pouring the hot drink into a cup. “Right, and if that barista was completely flattered because such a pretty boy wanted to see her again?”
“He’d ask her out, ask to see her out of this awful uniform.”
Huffing a laugh, you slid his cakes over the counter, turning to finish off his drinks.
“Well she’d be interested, can I take your name for her?”
“It’s Steve.”
“Steve,” you repeated, a smile now consuming your lips. “Mhm, that’s me.”
“Ill let her know,” you spoke over your shoulder. Sliding the cups into sleeves and placing them in a cup holder so he wouldn’t hurt himself, you handed them over.
“Well it was nice meeting you Steve.”
“You too, have a good day.” You watched him walk out the shop, giving you a goofy smile and carry on his way.
Looking down at his latte cup he noticed some scribbles on the side. Moving as quickly as he could he headed back to work, passing Robin the cakes, to decide which she wanted and her hot choc.
He slid the sleeve off the cup and couldn’t help grinning, it was a number and a name. Your number and name. “God Dingus, you finally get your game back,” Robin teased from beside him.
“Maybe,” he shrugged, smiling as he took as sip of what may have been the best coffee of his life.

ch. 17 — cat whisperers (literally)
Tumblr media
you finally tuck your phone away into your pockets. admittedly, childe has distracted you longer than you intended to.
a voice calls you from the next room and you immediately knew it was zhongli from the way he lets your name roll off of his tongue so delicately.
“coming!” you yell, rushing out of the break room you were in and the moment you open the door to where zhongli is, you were greeted by the boy holding his index finger to his lips.
that definitely shut you up, okay.
you start to approach zhongli on your tippy toes, careful of the creaky wooden fooor, squatting down once you were beside the boy.
his gaze fixated on the cat sleeping in front of the both of you, zhongli looks like his intense stare would provide further protection for the cat and you laugh inside at how adorable he looked.
“what are we staring at?” you say in a normal volume that makes zhongli’s head whip immediately at you, putting his index finger on his lip once more, reminding you to stay quiet.
“i’m sorry,” you whipser apologetically, offering a smile.
“it’s fine, it’s just… she barely sleeps now and whenever she actually does, i want her to have an uninterrupted one.” zhongli says, gesturing to the cat in front.
“her name?”
“i named her kitty katty.”
“i—“
the name already shocked you and the fact that it came from zhongli himself was the cherry on top of your cake. “i’m sorry but kitty katty?”
zhongli smiles sheepishly, “you can laugh if you want.”
“no no no, i think it’s adorable,” you whisper yell at the student council president, giggling at how weird you find this whole ordeal.
“she’s been here for as long as i am.”
he suddenly says and zhongli surprises even himself.
“how long have you been volunteering here?”
“i’ve been here since i was seven,” zhongli starts and as he notices your confusion, he continues. “i used to visit my brother when he was the one volunteering.”
“oh, that’s sweet.”
“yeah, i wanted to spend every moment with him before he went to college.”
“so… where is he now?”
“he’s still away. he decided to settle down in the city.”
okay. nice. he didn’t have mommy nor daddy issues— he might have older brother issues though.
“are you guys close?” you try to prod but then immediately regret when the small smile on zhongli’s face while looking at the senior cat dropped almost immediately.
you realize that maybe you shouldn’t have asked.
“you don’t have to answer that question,”
“it’s fine,” he releases a deep sigh, “i used to be close to him, we just grew apart.”
you hum. “he had the talent to escape the hard parts in life.” zhongli says before looking up and redirecting his gaze towards the picture frame sitting atop of the counter.
there you see a total of four figures; a man in his late 40s who you assume zhongli’s father, a teenage boy who was aged 15 who you think it’s zhongli’s brother, a child aged 7 that looks like the younger version of the man himself, and a beautiful woman sitting on a wheelchair.
it didn’t take long enough for you to put two and two together.
“you know, you can always talk to me about anything.”
zhongli snorts in surprise, “where did that come from?”
“it’s just… you always listen to everyone’s problems but no one really listens to yours.” you reason out, looking at the boy intently— zhongli looks back at you with widened eyes, taken aback from what you said.
“i suppose i never thought of it that way.” he admits, “thank you.”
you shrug it off like how you would normally. your attention is brought back to kitty katty, the cat now stretching its limbs as it awoke. zhongli was too distracted by something else though— he was looking at you, in awe.
as he stares at the side of your head longer, the longer he notices the littles habits you do. he notices how you tilt your chin upwards a little bit when amused— just like what you’re doing now— and the way your nose scrunches when a little too focused.
slowly, he starts memorizing the curve of your lips, the shape of your nose, and the crinkles in your eyes. like an artist with his art— he admires you up close.
the bell above the door suddenly jingles, making zhongli whip his head elsewhere as if caught doing something he shouldn’t have been. and a boisterous voice speaks up, as zhongli feels bile rising up to this throat.
“i’m here to pick up my wonderful girlfriend,” childe says in a singsong voice, choosing those words in order to tease you.
zhongli pulls his head down from the clouds, of course, he thinks. it was getting late anyway.
you stand from the ground you were sitting on before sending a smile towards zhongli’s way. he nods as a response when you bid him goodbye, leaving him alone with his thoughts and the uncomfortable churn of his stomach.
when you and your boyfriend step out of the animal shelter, zhongli catches himself with his eyes glued to the door. there were just some things he couldn’t have, huh.

It's been awhile...: Stolas x M!GoetiaPrince! Reader Headcanons.
God, this one was so much fun to write, and I very well may turn it into a fic for my ao3 when I get back to posting there. I hope y'all enjoy!
---------------------------------------------------
• Growing up as a goetic demon was an...odd experience.
• You were the son of a duke, and while there were plenty of problems, it wasn't as bad as it was for others.
• You were given the title of prince from a young age, due to a mix of your own natural charm and circumstance.
• This wasn't supposed to happen, as your title should've gone to your older brother, Astratoth.
• However, your father had disappeared and no one knew what happened to him, leaving Astratoth to take on the title of duke and you to take up the title of prince.
• There were a lot of things that your father made you do a lot of things from a young age.
• Magical studies, finance and business courses, even sword fighting and martial arts training.
• You were actually rather good combat wise, even competing in competitions and tournaments.
• It was actually at one of these tournaments that you met a boy that changed your life.
• Satan wanted the chance to show off his, and his protégés' skills, so he called royal demons from across the rings to come watch, and even face them, if any dared.
• You were only a teenager at the time, but you had a fighting spirit and a need to prove yourself, so you, along with your brother made the trip down, only a week after he became a duke, and you a prince.
• It was why you needed to fight, or atleast that's how you felt about it.
• There's a million demons that are sharper than a razor or have silver tounges, but not many would even dare to face off against Satan's finest pupils.
• Before the fighting began, a grand party was held, and you got the first chance to mingle with other goetias as a prince.
• One stood out to you, though.
• Prince Stolas, son of King Paimon, stood on the balcony of the manor the party was held.
• He was alone, staring off into the night sky.
• So, you made your way over to him.
• You desperately needed a break, especially after having to deal with Zagan and Queen Beleth.
• Stolas didn't say anything when you walked outside and stood next to him, he just glanced over at you.
• The only sound that broke the silence was the muffled sounds of schmoozing inside.
• Eventually, you tried to talk to him, and apparently he needed it.
• This boy, probably no more than a year younger than you, broke down in tears.
• You tried to comfort him, and it somewhat succeeded.
• The two of you ended up sitting down and talking and he opened up about everything.
• His arranged marriage to a woman he hated, the problems with his father, and just...everything.
• So, you did the only thing you knew how to; you offered to sneak out of the party with him.
Stolas was hesitant, but ultimately decided to go with you.
• You ended up just going into a small, family owned diner, and ate together.
• Now with all his problems off his chest, you got to know him really well, and you could already tell you were catching feelings.
• Stolas ended up resting his hand on the table, and you, ever the charmer, moved to rest yours on top of his.
• It took him a second to realize what you had done, but when he did, Stolas turned bright red.
• Stolas mentioned that he thought you were somewhat cute, and that night ended up becoming a date.
• You were his knight in shining armor now, and you were absolutely going to prove it the next day.
• You were going to fight a guy named Tsizoro.
• He wasn't Satan's top student, but he was definitely up there.
• Before the fight, Stolas found you, and gave you a gift. It was a handkerchief with his seal on it.
• You couldn't help but give Stolas a quick kiss. It was worth it to see him blush.
• You didn't win the fight, but you got damn close. You actually did well enough to get the respect of Satan himself.
• You didn't take his offer to learn from him though. You had to go see someone.
• Stolas and you ended up going back to Pride together, you using the excuse of teaching him how to fight. That was an excuse Paimon graciously accepted.
• You were together for a week, and you ended up becoming crazy for eachother.
• Well, until Paimon and Stolas' betrothed, Stella, caught you two.
• You got kicked out really damn fast, and Paimon made sure there was no way you could contact Stolas.
• Defeated and heartbroken, you tried to move on, and finally took Satan's offer.
• It didn't work though, as evidence by the fact that decades later, now with you and Stolas both as adults, you kept up with the story surrounding him.
• Divorce, affair, and who knows how much heartbreak.
• Eventually you decided to go see him.
• You wanted to do it right, so you made sure to get his favorite flowers, hand-picked by yourself.
• Stolas' eyes lit up when he saw you, and you thought he was going to cry.
• The two of you embraced, and even shared a kiss or two.
• Things were so different now, and you weren't sure how things would go.
• But you had eachother, and that was enough for you.

Wesker surviving RE5. Taking a good while to recover. When he final tracks Chris many years later he sees a young woman with Chris. Obviously not Chris' wife.
Chris got a daughter. And Wesker knows how to truely break him now.
Poor girl, she gets hit on by a super hot dude not knowing that he is her dads biggest enemy
listen... this would go fucking crazy... 18+
cw; afab!reader, creep!wesker, reader is 21-ish and wesker is... *gulps*... 61, dad!chris isn't the best dad, i'm projecting big time with this one guys sorry, takes place circa re8, reader is in college, no use of y/n, chris is the kind of alcoholic dad that you don't want your boyfriend to meet because you are, in fact, embarrassed of him, wesker drives a lincoln mkz zephyr.
you look like your dad but prettier. softer, sweeter features than your father's own. your eyes are paralyzingly innocent, and he can't help himself when he lays eyes on you. you're younger than albert by a concerning amount of years, but thanks to your dad's unintentional neglect during your childhood, you've got some issues.
your father never told you about wesker- or anything relating to his line of work. how foolish of chris to not take such precautions with his daughter. you never bothered to ask, either, as you felt some sort of resentment towards your dad in your teenage years. everything he did pissed you off, especially when he was trying to bond. so of course you decided to date someone just as old, if not older than your dad, just to piss him off in return.
that's when you stumbled across wesker. he was handsome for his age, though he looks much younger and you're not sure why. the sunglasses thing confused you, though he'd told you once when you had first started talking that he has light-sensitive eyes. you, being so trusting of this nice, older man who made you feel wanted, believed him and every little thing he ever told you. he'd make you feel so warm inside, and it didn't take long for you to fall for him.
he'd made a show of falling for you, too, to keep you under his thumb. you were the type to flee at the first sign of abandonment; he couldn't have that.
your dad was shocked when you told him you'd found a boyfriend. thanks to your strained relationship, you'd hardly talked to him after leaving for college, which he blamed himself for. it had only worsened between the two of you after your mother left.
and now, at dinner, your dad thinks it's the greatest idea in the world talk about your beloved.
"so," your father starts as he saws through thick-cut steak with a serrated knife, cutting you off a piece, "this boyfriend of yours, when am i meeting him?"
"you want to meet my boyfriend?" you cock an eyebrow at your father, though he doesn't meet your gaze. his own is fixed to the bit of steak he's setting on your plate beside some vegetables.
"well, yeah. must be pretty serious if you told me about him." chris finally looks at you, setting his silverware down. you swallow.
"i don't know, dad."
"what, are you embarrassed of me?"
"i didn't say that, don't put words in my mouth." you stuff a piece of sauteed cauliflower in your mouth as chris sighs inwardly. for the next ten minutes, there's no sound except silverware clinking against your plates and your father's jaw popping here and there.
neither of you can take much more of the awkward silence.
chris clears his throat and leans back in his chair, "listen, i just want to make sure you're dating a good guy, okay?"
"yeah, sure." the bitterness and slight annoyance in your voice is hard to hide. you don't bother.
"is that a crime? wanting to look out for my kid?" he crosses his arms over his chest, getting a little defensive.
"don't you think it's a little late to play dad of the year? i'm not a child, i don't need you to look out for me."
"i know you're not a child-"
"then just stop." you're standing up from your chair, "stop trying to be a bigger part of my life. stop acting like you care. stop."
"fine, you want to be an ungrateful brat?" your dad stands up too, "then get out. take your shit and leave, or shut the hell up."
you don't really have anywhere else to go, so you slink back into your chair and reluctantly finish your food. with all the money your dad gets from his job, he's paying your tuition.
your dad downs the whiskey in his glass and gathers his dishes, leaving you to sit in silence at the dinner table.
-
your father lets the boyfriend thing go until you bring it up to him again, this time on your own.
when you bring it up to albert, he's delighted.
"i'd be honored," he tells you as he leans down to kiss your cheek, he's confident about this, which puts you at ease because you know your father isn't going to take this very well.
-
you're dressed your best, as is albert, who's got his hand on your lower back protectively. he can sense your nerves- uroboros didn't completely burn out of his system- as if they were his own, and he kisses your head as you unlock the front door. based on the black jeep in the driveway, beside albert's zephyr, your father is home. you open the door, and in a flash, you're pushed out of the way.
you didn't expect your father to have a loaded gun aimed at your boyfriend so quickly, if at all. a deep laugh sounds from albert.
"oh, chris..."

Spoilers for the marvels!!!
Ngl I kinda wish Monica had more of an angry outburst towards Carol abandoning her and Maria. Like that woman was her second parent then she just disappeared for over 20 years. Sure she had to fix the mess she created and didn’t want Monica to see that side of her but still, one visit was enough.
So I’ve decided to write a little confrontation scene because I felt like the movie needed it. So this is set after they go through multiple jump points and land on a deserted piece of land…
“I told you not to do it!” Carol scolded Kamala, her eyes lighting up making the younger girl shrink in her seat.
“Hey, it’s not her fault,” Monica cut in, stepping in front of the teenager, “If anything, it’s yours.”
“No, Monica I—“ Kamala was interrupted when Monica spat at Carol, “If you weren’t hellbent on revenge, we wouldn’t be in this mess!”
“They took everything from me. I did what I had to do,” Carol replied making Monica scoff, “And that warranted you to destroy their civilization? You think you’re better than them? You’re exactly like them!”
“I didn’t mean to cause a civil war, I didn’t think they—
“Yeah, you don’t think, Carol,” Monica stated harshly, “You never think. You always jump in headfirst regardless of the consequences. Everything to you is a game.”
“Monica, I think that’s enough,” Kamala tugged at her arm but the older woman shrugged her off, “You don’t get it Kamala. You idolize Carol, you think she’s perfect but she’s not.”
Then she glared at Carol again, saying, “It was better knowing that you died in that crash.”
“You’re right,” Carol finally spoke up, tears welling in her eyes, “This is all my fault.”
Looking right at Monica, she said, “I’m sorry for abandoning you and your mom and I’m sorry that I got you and Kamala involved in this.”
Then before Monica could retort, she added, “I didn’t come back because I was afraid of letting you see that side of me, the one the Kree call the Annihilator. I was ashamed of what I did and I thought that if I could help the Skrulls, I could fix everything, that I could make myself worthy of the title of Captain Marvel. All my life, I’ve been belittled, said that I wasn’t good enough and I thought that I could finally do something good with my powers. But I was wrong. I messed everything up..I didn’t mean to abandon you and your mom.”
“See? She apologized, now hug it out and then we can kick Dar- Benn’s ass.” Kamala said, pushing Monica forward towards Carol’s direction.
Sighing. Monica replied, “I can’t forgive you right now, but we have to stop a maniac from stealing our sun, so truce?”
“I’ll take it,” Carol told her.
