Ace dragon!

Origami Western Dragon V3 designed by Shuki Kato, folded by me from a square sheet of 90 cm unryu paper painted in the colors of the ace flag before folding. (The orange-y part is because of a sheet of bleeding tissue that was previously treated with MC on my cutting mat—I struggled to entirely clean up the dye from before.) Overall, I’m satisfied with how it came out and this was a fun fold. It’s my 4th time making this particular dragon model, so I was happy to revisit it and see improvement since past folds. The model has diagonal symmetry, not book symmetry, and the stripes were painted onto the paper horizontally, which is why the colors landed this way. Might get more photos of this particular dragon later.

Did some late-night(early morning, same thing) origami because I couldn't sleep, this is the result, I haven't done any origami before(exept some simple bookmarks a few years back) and I probably failed spectacularly but it's a good first(I hope-)

(It's a dragon ^^)

I think my mistakes were:

1. Not prepping the paper correctly(bending, stretching, folding, idk I'm not an origami expert)

2. Not being precise enough

3. Wrong kind of paper

4. The tutorial did something with the wings and I had no idea what(I'll rewatch and figure out where those lines came from, then use that on the next try)

Oh well, I'll try again later, probably get the same result, but every failed paper dragon is another decoration for my room

On another note, will wood's "I/me/myself" is hella good, check it out sometime, cheered me up big time(side effects may include but are not limited to: now not wanting to sleep, and once again feeling super hyper) (note to self: don't use my normal Playlist to try to cheer up, make a new one with all the upbeat funny songs you like)

Ancient Dragon 2.0 designed by Satoshi Kamiya, folded by me. Again--I love my dragons, and needed to make an ancient dragon to relax. It's just a familiar sequence to me at this point.

Folded from a square of 70-something cm mulberry paper, I forget exactly how big of a square I was working with. Maybe I will finish preparing my ace pride paper for a future dragon? It's been waiting in paper storage for a while.
