Chrysanthemums - a vow or promise

Peter gently squeezed Tony's hands, where he held them in his between them. They were facing each other, the rest of the world fading into nothing. Tony's vows had nearly sent Peter into hysterics (he was already weepy after reciting the standard to have and to hold bit while they exchanged rings), but he knew he had to keep it together in order to get through his own. He took a deep breath, and began:

"Tony, you are the most incredible man I have ever met. You're smart, caring, generous, funny, and most importantly, you love me just as much as I love you. You've never let me doubt just how much I mean to you, and I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together making sure you know just how much you mean to me."

Tony's eyes were misted over, and Peter gave his hands another squeeze.

The officiant cleared their throat and then spoke loudly for the mic to pick up. "And with that, by the power vested in me by the State of New York, I now pronounce you married."

Peter couldn't stop smiling into the kisses Tony kept pressing against his lips.

🍓 How did you get into writing fanfiction?

I feel like that's asking "how did you join Tumblr" it just happened 😂

🍇How many fandoms have you written in?

One, technically, which is nothing compared to others but I enjoy exploring my ideas with the MCU and its characters. I'm not sure I'd get the same feeling with other fandoms, like say, supernatural.

🍈How many years have you been writing fanfiction?

It'll be four this summer. Again, not long, but considering I denied myself as being a writer for several years? That's progress and growth.

🍎Do you read or write more fanfiction?

It depends on the muse and all sorts of other things. Sometimes I'm punching out oneshot after oneshot, while other times I'll be focused on a longfic and will read in between and stuff. Like currently!

🍌What is one way you've improved as a writer?

Writing more. Reading more. Writing more again. But also letting go of sticking to a strict outline. I'm a planster. I'll plan the major things, but everything else is made up as I go.

🍑Do you have any bad habits as a writer?

I'll often start or continue writing a scene and will find myself stuck, thinking it's the end of the world, and then realize my whole issue is a few lines above what I'm trying to make work. Happens so often you'd like I would be used to it by now.

🍍 What's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?

I don't know about weird, but I've been doing a ton of medical research for my future doctor/patient AU. I've searched around for all sorts of things lol even for a sentence that I'll likely not end up using.

🍉What's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?

Keyboard smashes. Long detailed comments about the plot/relationship/pining/etc. Comments that mention a tiny detail I included, those are the best when people notice them. But also, any comment.

🍐What's the most fringe trope/topic you write about?

Crack fics? I don't think I write a lot of outlandish stuff, at least I wouldn't consider them to be 😂

🥭What is the hardest type of story for you to write?

Uhhh... *stares blankly at my open doc* Ones with big plot. I love it, it makes the story even more fun to write, but MAN plot can be tricky. Catch me saying "Did everyone see that? Because I will not be doing it again" like Captain Jack Sparrow when I finish a longfic, and then immediately start planning another one to write.

🍏What is the easiest type?

Short oneshots with hardly any plot. Which isn't often because almost everything I write ends up being longer than I anticipated.

🍑Where do you do your writing? What platform? When?

Docs. I used to use Smartedit Writer and organize by chapters, but ehhhh I just throw ideas onto a separate doc and go from there. Why plan extensively when my characters will do a 180 on me all the time? And almost always at night, sometimes during the day when time/the muse allows me.

🍋What is something you've been too nervous/intimidated to write, but would love to write one day?

I was just thinking about this recently. I have never written a post TWS recovery fic. It's on my 'to write' bucket list, so I hope to tackle a lengthy canon fic one of these days. I love reading canon fics where they're on missions and the plot is centered around HYDRA or some other big bad, I feel like those are trickier to write than AUs. But everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, and I know coming up with detailed worlds/world building isn't a walk in the park for some.

🍇 what made you choose your username?

I didn't know what to name my Marvel sideblog when I was making it so... I just decided Bucky + metal arm + aw crap that name is taken = Metalbvcky 🤣

Six Sentence Sunday

The most recent thing I've been working on is for an anon fest, so instead here's a snippet of something that honestly isn't going to get posted (or finished) for months. Putting this here, I feel like could be half the summary of the fic in question

Draco automatically attempts to push the fear and panic behind his Occlumency walls, only to be confronted once again by their loss.

It’s pathetic, is what it is. But it’s also almost better than what he expected to happen if his Occlumency walls ever broke. He had never engaged in that possibility for long before, but now he has no choice. 

Without his magic, he can’t sustain Occlumency. And without Occlumency, well. He should probably have learned some better coping skills before now.

Most kudos: Once again, Above and Beyond is first (342 kudos). The next ones are Mending Mistakes: Bakugou Style (MHA, KiriBaku, 172 kudos) and Discovering a new side of you (One Piece, SanUso, 163 kudos).

Most comment threads: Above and Beyond is very far ahead (62 comment threads). Next one is The Wingman Competition (11 comment threads).

Most bookmarks: First one: Above and Beyond, as usual (83 bookmarks), second one: Of idiots inside and outside of the courtroom (Ace Attorney, NaruMitsu, 37 bookmarks).

Most words: You guessed it, Above and Beyond is first (34368 words). Seconds are The Wingman Competition (16963 words) and I don't want you to be hurt (Bleach, Shinji/Hiyori, Momo/Rangiku, 14277 words). This last one is the first fic I ever posted on AO3, it still holds a very dear place in my heart.

Least words: Least number of words is Love Poems (Haikyuu!!, 755 words), it was just a little poems practice. I much prefer this second least: The Skeleton who terrorized an Island of Zombies with his Singing (One Piece, Brook character study, 834 words).

Fic Stats Tag Game

Most hits: Purple painted golden, is a Yelena Belova/Kate Bishop A/B/O fic I wrote for an exchange, which also was my first time writing for his pairing (Hits: 4,007, Explicit, 838 words). It follows the story of Yelena realising her feelings for her best friend, courting her, and their first time together after their first date.

Most kudos: this is also Purple painted golden with 209 kudos, followed by Don't speak (Kudos: 142, Teen, 1,7k words). This is a Bucky/Sam as co-workers, who happened to kiss during a mission and that forced them to face their feelings for each other. And it ensues a lot more kissing; it’s part of my We'll figure things out when we stop making out series! (currently 6 works and 8,1k words)

Most comments: one of my Bucky/John Walker fics, No, it is easier said than done! (Comment Threads: 10 (20 comments), Teen, 1,1k words) This follows Bucky waking up after a post-mission surgery and finding out John has spent all the time by his side at the hospital (mutual pining + first kiss). It includes a cameo from my beloved Ava Starr!

Most bookmarks: again, it’s also Purple painted golden with 29 bookmarks, followed by Fate's Tricky Ways (Bookmarks: 27, Teen, 2,5k words). This is a Bucky/Sam A/B/O story in which Bucky and Sam stays at the compound while everyone else is on a mission, and with pre-heat symptoms, Sam asks Alpha!Bucky for help (mutual pining + cuddling)

Most words: Thinking Back To Your Laugh, Your Smell And Skin (Words: 11,898, Explicit, Chapters: 5/5), one of my fics for the Silver Fox Steve Valentine's Exchange 2023! It’s a No Powers AU story in which Steve and Sam are co-workers, and Steve asks Sam to go as his fake boyfriend to his brother [Bucky]’s wedding. This brings out some feelings for each other (secret crush + fluff and smut)

Least words: Almost everything in my Drabble Collection has 100 words (a total of 12,200 words and 60 works in the collection, mostly MCU). My first drabble was Midgardian god, a Darcy Lewis & Sif Thor missing scene (Words: 100, General)
