Hi, I'm curious what is your opinion on Owen not doing promo and his radio silence?
Imo, it's very suspicious. Radio silence, no interviews, not even in the assembled episode, no Critics Choice nomination (Sophia got nominated but not him???), literally no one acknowledges him but Tom. Only he talks about Owen and Mobius. He has a very important role in Loki, yet they act like he doesn't exist and that Mobius has no influence on who Loki becomes. His fantastic performance is ignored. I don't think they're afraid of Owen spoiling something. It's something more serious. I genuinely think that Disney/Marvel are doing him dirty. There might be bad blood between them and I'm worried we'll never see Mobius again.
Honestly, I'm not too worried about it and wouldn't read too much into it.
There was a strike going on after all, and he's a busy guy, so I'm guessing he just "moved on" from it. Doesn't mean he doesn't care or has beef with disney (but I mean, don't we all have beef with disney?). Maybe he's also just not that big of an interview guy and the mcu is a big deal, and maybe it's overwhelming, who knows. He seems like a private guy as far as I'm aware.
Also, it's not just Tom talking about Owen! A lot of the cast does, Eric Martin himself said that Owen Wilson got robbed by not getting a nomination. I don't think there's anything bad going on behind the scenes.
They don't act like he doesn't exist, everyone's making sure that people know that Loki and Mobius are the heart of the show. And they all adore Owen! Tom especially, of course.
I'm pretty sure we'll see him again! The radio silence might just be a personal choice.

Tom Hiddleston Says Revisiting Loki Was ‘An Honor,’ Thanks Co-Stars for ‘Chemistry and Inspiration’
Ahead of accepting Variety’s Virtuoso Award at the Miami Film Festival, Hiddleston reflects on previous roles and impactful creative collaboration.
By Jenelle Riley
Tumblr media
Tom Hiddleston knows “Miami.” That is, all the words to the Will Smith song titled after the famous city — a video of him reciting the lyrics once broke the Internet (not an unusual occurrence for the actor.) That was in 2012 when he was doing press for “The Avengers,” the movie that would change his life and career. It was also the same tour that last brought him to the city — but that was a whirlwind two days of press. “I do recall promoting ‘Avengers’ in Spanish and the city had a great, unique energy,” he says. “I’m really excited to be back as an explorer.”
The British actor will be returning on April 9 to the Miami Film Festival to accept Variety’s Virtuoso Award for his career achievements and will participate in a Q&A at the Adrienne Arsht Center – Knight Concert Hall. Tickets are available here.
And while Miami is known for its food and culture, the actor has one thing on his mind. “What will the weather be like?” he queries of the town’s famously balmy temperatures. “Because I’m coming from the wettest February on record in London’s history.”
Hiddleston admits it’s somewhat ironic to be receiving the Virtuoso Award there, because “when somebody says ‘virtuoso,’ I think of a dazzling soloist in an orchestra, and I feel about as far from that image as it’s possible to imagine.”
He continues: “I am the opposite of a soloist, actually. I always feel like I’m at my strongest in a team. What we do is a collective creative act and the joy of it is in the shared imagination.”
This might explain why his resume is filled with standout ensemble pieces in every genre. Hiddleston’s worked on stage — he earned a Tony nomination for his 2019 Broadway debut in “Betrayal” — the SAG Award-nominated ensemble of “Midnight in Paris,” up through his most current turn as the God of Mischief in Season 2 of the Disney+ series “Loki.”
The second season’s finale, “Glorious Purpose,” remains the highest-rated episode ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and brought a conclusion to an epic character arc that has spanned 14 years of Hiddleston’s life. The actor, who also served as producer on both seasons, says it would have been impossible without his “deep bench” of castmates, which includes Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino and Season 2 addition Ke Huy Quan, Oscar-winner for “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
“I don’t know who said it, but there’s the phrase: ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,’” he notes. “And it’s never been truer than for this show.”
Community and collaboration are perhaps his favorite aspects of the work. “I truly find the most interesting work I have discovered happens between people. You show up and ready and prepared, but you take that preparation onto the dance floor and see what there is between you. If I’ve done anything of value, it’s because of that chemistry and inspiration I receive from another actor.”
Hiddleston says that team spirit extends to his next project, “The Life of Chuck,” a big-screen adaptation of the Stephen King novella that also stars Karen Gillan, Mark Hamill and Chewitel Ejiofor. “I’m a lifelong tennis fan and I feel like being on set is like playing tennis,” Hiddleston notes. “It’s all about who you’re playing opposite and the energy back and forth between you. And I have some great partners on ‘The Life of Chuck.'”
As for continuing Loki’s story in a third season, it’s a question Hiddleston is asked pretty much every day — several times. “I truthfully don’t know,” he says. “I am so proud of where we landed in Season 2. To go from this lost, broken soul in Asgaard, and be given a second chance and learn so much about life that he actually gives himself to protect other people, has been such an honor.” For tickets to the conversation and Variety Virtuoso Award Presentation to Tom Hiddleston, visit here.

SPOILER ALERT! This Q&A contains spoilers for Season 2 of Loki.
Season 2 of Marvel Studios’ Loki expands upon the inner workings of the Time Variance Authority, where the God of Mischief has been working tirelessly to save, well, all of time.
That includes introducing new characters, like Ke Huy Quan‘s Ouroboros. As the TVA’s dedicated handyman, everything inside the institution was either created by him or is currently maintained by him. When Loki and Mobius enter his workshop, they become his first visitors in 400 years.
Little do they know, Ouroboros is an integral part of their quest to prevent the branches of time from overloading the Temporal Loom.
Following the end of the actors strike and on the heels of the Loki Season 2 finale, Quan spoke with Deadline about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his character Ouroboros, and his own full circle career moment.
DEADLINE: It’s so great to get to talk with you about Loki. You haven’t really been able to talk about your role, due to the actors strike. What have you been waiting to say?
KE HUY QUAN: When I decided to become an actor again, [being part of the MCU] was at the top of my wishlist…They all welcomed me with wide open arms, and I was so happy. I was patiently waiting for the show to come out so we can go and celebrate it and tell the fans. Then, of course, the strike happened. I just want to tell everybody how proud of the show I am. How happy I am with it. And working with Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, the entire Loki family has just been incredible. We made this last year in London. I was there for four months, my wife and I were there. It was one of the best four months of my life. I’ve done a few shows before, and this was the first time where I didn’t want it to end. I was so happy. In fact, I’ll tell you this. We were scheduled for reshoots this February, and I was waiting. My wife and I were looking forward to spending more time in London and with our Loki family. And all of a sudden we were told, ‘Oh, we don’t need any reshoots. It’s all good.’ I was kind of disappointed. I was actually disappointed that we didn’t get to go back because of how much fun we had… So we made history. We make history two times. One is the first series of Marvel getting a second season and the second is the first time a Marvel show didn’t have any reshoots. I’m so proud of that.
DEADLINE: It is quite a feat to not have any reshoots. So that was probably one of the few times you were excited for reshoots.
QUAN: A lot of times actors dread doing reshoots, because you have to go back. You have to get back into character. But for this, I was really happy. I was looking forward to it. It’s so ironic, because the more I wanted to do, it’s like, ‘Oh, we don’t need it.’ But this is a testament to how great the show is and to how great a Leader Tom Hiddleston is. Working with him has been incredible. It was such a masterclass on how to be a great actor, a great leader, and most importantly, a great human being. He is so kind and humble.
DEADLINE: When you first read the script, what did you think of your character, Ouroboros? What were you hoping you could bring to him?
QUAN: Well, first of all, when I read the script, I instantly fell in love with Ouroboros. It was so well defined on the pages, and I can see him right away. This character was not based on comic books, so it was created by our showrunner Kevin Wright and our head writer Eric Martin… I instantly wanted to play him. And I remember this was at a time when Everything, Everywhere All At Once had just came out. It was paying only in New York and in Los Angeles. My agent said, ‘You’re gonna get a call from Kevin Feige tomorrow.’ Now you have to understand, when I became an actor again, joining the MCU was at the top of my wishlist. I was so excited and I said, ‘Could this be it?’ I was driving. I picked up the phone. And on the other end I hear, ‘Hi Ke. This is Kevin Feige.’ He went on to talk about how much he loved our movie and how much he loved my performance. Then finally he says, ‘Ke we would love for you to join the MCU family.’ I was driving at that time. I start tearing up, and I couldn’t see the road anymore. I said, ‘Kevin, can you give me two seconds?’ I pulled the car over, put it in park and I said, ‘Please continue.’ He says, ‘We have this great character for you, Ouroboros. I really love him, and I think you will be perfect to play him.’ He told me about Loki. He told me about the MCU. He spoke [with] so much passion and enthusiasm in his voice. It brought me back to the day when I met him for the very first time on the X-Men set when he was just an associate producer, and I was an assistant action choreographer…He loves this universe so much. He has such a vast knowledge of this universe. And little did I know only 23 years later, I get to work with him. I get to play a wonderful character.
DEADLINE: I’m glad you mentioned that. It is quite the full circle moment.
QUAN: You know, that’s why I love the name Ouroboros. It’s s a snake eating its own tail. I had a wonderful time working with Kevin on set. It was at a time where I didn’t think I would ever step in front of the camera again. It was also the time where I questioned whether I would have a career working behind the camera. It was when I just graduated from USC film school. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I knew I didn’t want to leave this industry. I love it so much. So to be able to do that and to come back again in front of the camera… I’m very fortunate.
DEADLINE: Your comedic timing is so spot on in Loki. I’m thinking of the scene where Ouroboros manages to recreate the Tempad after 19 months and losing his wife. What’s the secret to nailing a scene like that?
QUAN: I don’t think much about it. I gotta credit Kevin Wright and Eric Martin. They really beautifully created this character Ouroboros. The dialogue, when I was reading for the first time, I laughed out loud, because he’s so quirky. He’s so weird and funny. Yet, if you think about it, who is this guy that’s working in the basement of the TVA for more than 400 years with no friends? No interaction with anybody. His only encounter was with Mobius when he got lost. Yet he still takes his job so seriously and so passionately. It has a lot to do with the beautiful dialogue that they came up with.
DEADLINE: Do you think O.B. stays in the basement for another 400 years or will be venturing out more often?
QUAN: When you get a taste of what friendships feel like… Loki is addicted to that. So I’m sure O.B. will be as well. When you don’t have it, you don’t know what you’re missing. But once you have it, you keep going after it. So I would assume that O.B. would periodically, when he’s not too busy, he would go up the elevator and go say hi to Casey and B-15 And just to mingle with Mobius, because he loves Mobius.
DEADLINE: What scene are you most proud of?
QUAN: I love Episode One, that scene when he’s talking to Mobius in the present and Loki in the past. That is so creative… It’s so is so well written. It’s so funny.
DEADLINE: How did you feel when you read the script for the finale?
QUAN: I was blown away, because I didn’t see that coming. It’s so beautiful and so poetic. When you have a character who wants to be on the throne all his life, and he finally gets to be on it. But he can never leave. He made the ultimate sacrifice…To me, Loki is the ultimate hero because he made the sacrifice without recognition. Nobody knows he did this, except the team. No one in the Sacred Timeline is going to ever know that. If we’re lucky in life, we would have people like that with us. The unsung heroes.
Loki is streaming on Disney+.

'...when it comes to a truly memorable performance over all this time in the MCU, Tom Hiddleston has everyone beat.
Hiddleston scored big with his role as Loki in 2011’s Thor. Since then he’s appeared in six additional films, two animated shorts, and two Disney+ shows, including, of course, Loki, which is in the midst of its second season. Loki the character is alive and well, even if the show’s latest episodes are convoluted. It’s getting increasingly difficult to keep up with Loki’s time travel, timelines, variants, and other complications. In a way, that issue is emblematic of the MCU’s current state. Now in its 15th year, it’s struggling to retain the same level of enthusiasm in a post-Avengers: Endgame world. Loki was a potential bright spot after an engaging, fresh first season in 2021. But now it’s in something of a sophomore slump. Thankfully, the series has two saving graces: stunning visuals and outstanding performances, none of which are more impressive than its lead’s...
Across three Thor and three Avengers movies over 12 years, Loki Laufeyson isn’t the same God of Mischief we were introduced to way back when. Still, Hiddleston ensures, either with a deranged smirk or sly dialogue delivery, that remnants of the original character are still in there. But now, Loki is open to the possibility of redemption because he’s fighting to save the world, not to eliminate it entirely, as was his mission in The Avengers.
Loki has received the kind of nuanced and believable character development that’s rarely seen in the MCU (or any major superhero franchise, for that matter). Hiddleston deploys an impressive physical and emotional range, evolving Loki from a maniacal killer in The Avengers to an anti-hero in Thor: Ragnarok (where he’s aided by a comical partnership with co-star Chris Hemsworth) to a full-fledged sentimental hero in the new episodes of Loki. (Thankfully, his spiky hair and costumes have also made headway, although we do miss the Asgardian horned mask.)...
Hiddleston capitalizes on the space he’s given over two seasons to transform Loki in a way the movies simply don’t allow. In every Thor film, he’s the supporting character. But in the show, Loki’s imprisonment at the Time Variance Authority and his partnership with Mobius (Owen Wilson) accomplish what even Loki’s own brother couldn’t: Revealing that the character does, in fact, have a heart. This becomes more pronounced when Loki falls for another Loki, played by Sophia DiMartino. At least we know narcissism—in some form or another—is imbued in all Loki variants.
The show’s gloss has faded in its second season because, ultimately, Marvel is going to Marvel. Loki has become less of a TV show in and of itself and more of a springboard for the MCU’s next big phase. That’s evident by episode three’s focus on Jonathan Majors’ Victor Timely, who will go on to become Kang the Conqueror, touted as the Big Bad of MCU Phases 5 and 6. But, despite the choppy storytelling, Loki is thriving in its own messy way on Hiddleston’s talented shoulders. And perhaps we should just take that win from the MCU.'

Where Have You Seen Loki Season 2's X-5 Actor Before?
This post contains spoilers for the season premiere of "Loki."
"Loki" is back this week, and along with the return of Norse trickster god Loki (Tom Hiddleston), agent Mobius (Owen Wilson), and the rest of the Time Variance Authority, the show's premiere also sees the introduction of a few new key characters. Among them? Ke Huy Quan's helpful, tech-savvy Ouroboros (or O.B.) and X-5, a mysterious new TVA agent played by Rafael Casal. And it's the latter who is particularly intriguing.
So far, we haven't seen X-5 do much besides question whether jet skis are part of the sacred timeline, but the character already seems to be an agitating force within the organization. He's also quite possibly poised to become a recognizable Marvel villain. After all, a featurette for the second season had a couple bits of footage from behind the scenes that showed him in a TVA jumpsuit, as if he was being held prisoner. So that should be interesting to watch play out. But there's more.
As /Film's Sandy Schaefer pointed out back in July, the trailer for "Loki" includes a poster for a movie called "Zaniac!" which fans have tied to Casal's character via leaks and speculation. Zaniac is a noteworthy character in Marvel Comics, though he bears little resemblance to X-5. The character was an evil entity that possessed the man who would become Jack the Ripper, and later took over slasher actor Brad Wolfe.
Ahead of the show's premiere, Casal has been credited by several outlets as Brad Wolfe, not X-5, so it seems likely that he could play out some form of the Zaniac plot this season. Regardless of Casal's true role in the show, though, he's an excellent multi-hyphenate artist whose past works deserve attention.
If X-5 looks familiar, it's likely you recognize Casal from "Blindspotting," a fantastic 2018 musical comedy-drama that he co-wrote with longtime creative partner Daveed Diggs (yes, of "Hamilton" fame). "Blindspotting" was a labor of love for Casal and Diggs, who also produced the film about two best friends living in Oakland, California whose lives are disrupted by the broken policing system. As serious as that sounds, "Blindspotting" is also laugh-out-loud funny, and Casal is a totally charming standout as hot-headed Miles.
The performer reprised the role for Starz's "Blindspotting" TV show, which ran for two seasons and was recently canceled. A criminally underseen hidden gem of a series, "Blindspotting" takes place after the film and puts the focus on Miles' girlfriend, Ashley Rose (Jasmine Cephas Jones), as she parents the pair's young mixed-race son in a racist world, all while Miles is behind bars. Despite his character's incarceration, Casal still appears in the show frequently and his hilarious, soulful character is a fan favorite. If you're looking for a thoughtful, entertaining, dynamic watch – or just want to see what Casal's made of – you can't do much better than either iteration of "Blindspotting."
The performer has also made a name for himself in other projects, including several collaborations with Diggs. A poet and rapper in addition to his acting creds, Casal appeared on three seasons of "Def Poetry Jam" on HBO, released a mixtape with Diggs in 2010, and contributed to the soundtracks for "Blindspotting," including in the catchy (and foulmouthed, fair warning) song "Easy Come, Easy Go." He reunited with Diggs in the acclaimed 2020 miniseries "The Good Lord Bird," a wild historical fiction series led by a fiery Ethan Hawke. Casal and Diggs even started a public theater project called Bars Medley, which remixed classic literature into musical performances.
Other on-screen works of Casal's include a supporting role in the 2019 Hugh Jackman flick "Bad Education" (he played the love interest of Jackman's closeted character) and a multi-episode turn in the "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" revival. Casal played a ringmaster named Mr. Tophat in the reboot of the classic, kid-friendly horror series. Next up, Casal is appearing in "Wildcat," a biography of Southern Gothic author Flannery O'Connor that's directed and co-written by Hawke. The X-5 actor plays a character in one of O'Connor's short stories in the movie, which premiered at Telluride but hasn't been released to the public yet.
Whether X-5 is a frustrated TVA employee, a secret evil entity, a movie actor, or something else entirely, it's exciting to see an artist as talented and versatile as Casal take the stage in a major Marvel series. You can catch his next moves on Disney+, where new episodes of "Loki" stream Thursdays at 9pm ET.

‘Loki’ Co-Star Ke Huy Quan on How ‘The Goonies’ Inspired His Character and Tom Hiddleston’s Acting Advice
SPOILER ALERT: This story includes discussion of major plot developments on “Loki,” which is currently streaming on Disney+.
Roughly 20 minutes after the news broke that the 118-day SAG-AFTRA strike had concluded, the first email I received from an actor’s publicist was for Ke Huy Quan. That’s how enthusiastic the recent Oscar-winning star of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” was to talk about his role on “Loki,” the Marvel Studios series for Disney+ that just wrapped up its second season. When he signs on to our Zoom chat for the interview, his face is beaming.
“I’ve waited a long time to talk about ‘Loki,’” he says. “Like, talking to you right now gives me a lot of joy.”
Quan plays Ouroboros, or “OB,” the head (and seemingly the sole employee) of the Repairs and Advancement Department of the Time Variance Authority — basically, the one person responsible for keeping the TVA’s machinery running. Quan is the most high profile new addition to the cast, which includes Tom Hiddleston in the title role and Owen Wilson as the TVA operative Mobius, and he was anxious at first about joining such a well-regarded show for its second season.
“They already have this camaraderie going on, this beautiful relationship,” he says. “So coming in, I was a bit intimidated. I didn’t know how I would fit in. From the get go, I felt this warmth, this beautiful acceptance with everybody’s wide open arms. They brought me in, and I felt right at home. It was wonderful.”
Quan rarely stops smiling as he talks about how his performances as a child in 1984’s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” and 1985’s “The Goonies” informed his experience making “Loki,” how Marvel Studios’ films took him back into his childhood — and how Hiddleston guided him through mastering O.B.’s dense technical dialogue.
How has it been for you to not be able to talk about this performance?
When I got the role of Ouroboros, we were in London for four months shooting and I couldn’t tell anybody. I couldn’t tell my family. The only people who knew was my wife, my entertainment attorney — which is my “Goonies” brother — and my agents. We had the most amazing time, and I was so proud of it. I would fantasize about being all over the place with Tom and Owen and my “Loki” family to talk about it.
And then all of a sudden, Hollywood shuts down. It reminded me of when I got the movie of a lifetime, “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” I finished that with one day to go, and the entire world shuts down [in the pandemic]. But of course, the strike was very important for our union. I’m very proud of the work that they did. And I’m also super happy now that it’s over and “Loki” gets to have the celebration it deserves.
I want to go way back to “X-Men,” because you worked on the stunt team on that movie after you’d basically stopped acting, and that’s when you first met Kevin Feige.
Ah! He was an associate producer at that time, and I was just an assistant action choreographer. It was right after I graduated from USC Film School. I was really nervous, because I didn’t know if I would have a career behind the camera and I was really grateful when I got the call from Corey Yuen, who was the action director on “X-Men.” When I walked on set, I was just blown away. I met this young man and he had this vast knowledge of this universe, and he was so willing and so passionate to talk to me about it. Because I didn’t know a lot about Marvel. I loved Kevin Feige right away and, of course, many years later, when he became this huge producer at Marvel, I always wanted to work with him, but I didn’t know in what capacity. We would see each other once in a long while. Little did I know that 23 years later, we get to work together. I’m just so thrilled.
Did you develop a better sense of Marvel after you worked on “X-Men”?
Well, I was very focused on being on being the action choreographer. When that movie was over, I went on and did other stuff. It was not until Kevin Feige made the first movie, “Iron Man,” and I went to see it and I was just blown away by how entertaining, how fun, it was. I watched every single [Marvel Studios] movie that came out thereafter and became a huge fan of this universe. I know a little bit about this universe, but I can’t say I’m as knowledgeable as Kevin. But I really enjoy these movies. My family are huge fans.
What made you excited to watch them?
I grew up in an era where you go into movies like “Back to the Future,” “Indiana Jones” — all those fun summer blockbuster movies, those big event movies. Those were my happy memories. Going to watch a Marvel movie reminded me of my childhood. Those movies are meant to be shared with a mass audience, that communal experience in a movie theater with 1,000 people. I just love them.
“Loki” head writer Eric Martin told me that he based Ouroboros on family members of his who were tinkerers. How did you develop a character for yourself? What did you draw off to bring that character to life?
When I first read the script, I instantly fell in love with Ouroboros. You can see who this character is right away — his quirkiness, his humor, his passion for his job jumps right out of the page. In the process of trying to fine tune how I want to play him, something dawned on me. I realized that this character is familiar to me. I think I know who he is. I have to go back 35 years ago, when I play Data on “The Goonies.”
So many fans have come up to me, and the most asked question was, “Will there be a ‘Goonies 2’? And what is Data doing as an adult?” This character of Ouroboros is kind of my answer to that. I view him as a variant of Data. What’s really interesting is, on my first day, I’m in full hair and makeup and costume. I’m walking to the Ouroboros set. They built this amazing set on the second biggest stage at Pinewood Studios. I look up and I see the name of the stage is “Roger Moore.” Now as we all know, Data loves James Bond. The character 007 inspires him tremendously. So I feel like there’s some cosmic connections to this character and Data. Playing him was one of the greatest experiences I’ve had.
OB has a lot of technical dialogue. How did you master that?
It was hard! Adam, I’m telling you, it was not easy! In the beginning, I kept messing up my lines. My character is responsible for a lot of the exposition. So it would just be pages and pages of dialogue. I didn’t understand, what is the “temporal loom”? What is the “throughput multiplier”? I could barely say it in the beginning. I had to ask [executive producer] Kevin Wright: “You have to show me what it is.” I have to visualize it in my head in order for me to say this dialogue. So he showed me visuals. There was a miniature model of the temporal loom.
I even asked Tom Hiddleston. In Episode 6, he was just spitting out that dialogue at 100 miles per hour. I was blown away by his performance. I said, “Tom, how do you do that?” It comes so naturally for him. He talked about his method. He showed me how to do it. And of course, you know, I practiced it, and it worked.
What did he teach you?
Well, I mean, there’s no secret to it. It’s really looking at the dialogue and reading it very, very slowly the first few times, and then as you become more comfortable with it, then you start picking it up. It’s just that repetition, but start very slow. I do the opposite. I jump right in and I’ll practice it as if I will be saying it in camera. But his process is just start very slow and familiarize yourself with every single word. That’s the method that I’ve been using ever since.
After having seen every movie in the MCU, what was the experience of stepping inside one of their projects?
One thing that really surprised me was, when I heard people talk about these movies, they always said, you know, “There’s always a lot of visual effects, a lot of blue screens.” On “Loki,” it was a practical set. Everything was built. The only blue screen that we had was outside the window in the temporal loom chamber. Everything inside was practically built. We could touch it, we could see it, we could step on it. And it was incredible. It also brought me back to the days when we shot “Goonies” and “Indiana Jones.” All those were practical sets as well.
The season ends with Loki becoming the god of stories and in effect sacrificing himself to bring order to the multiverse. What did it feel like to be on the inside of that revelation?
We didn’t get access to Episode 6 until later on. When I read it, I was blown away, because it was not the direction I was expecting. I got so emotional because the character arc of Loki is one of the most beautiful arcs I’ve seen in cinema history. He started 14 years ago as a selfish villain, and to end at the Episode 6 of “Loki” Season 2, how he made this tremendous sacrifice without recognition. Nobody knows he did this, except the team. Nobody on the sacred timeline knows that he’s given up his freedom, he’s given up all these wants and needs, to be on that throne and hold everything together. That is just beautiful. I just love it. I just think it’s so poetic and so beautiful. It’s a perfect ending to a perfect character.
How much of an indication has Marvel given you about OB’s future in the MCU?
I haven’t had any conversations. I love OB. I love playing him. It makes me so happy that the audience is responding to this character. When I first got the call from Kevin Feige and he asked me to come join the MCU family, I asked him, “Is this a one-time thing? Or are we going to be able to see more of him?” Because I loved him on the pages. And he says, “Ke, we always give what the fans want.”
So I hope the fans like OB enough and I want to see him in more MCU movies and television shows. We will find out, but no, I haven’t had any discussions with anybody yet.

@loki-is-my-kink-awakening Thank you so much for the tag lovely!! Putting my answers to the questions behind the cut 😊
1. Who is your favourite character in 2?
Oh no not this😅 Don't wanna start off totally indecisive but In all honesty Aziraphale and Crowley are such a package deal I've never been able to decide who I liked more so both it is!
2. Who is your least favourite character in 1?
Probably Frank Morgan since he's meant to give everyone the creeps and totally untrustworthy but if we're talking main cast then Ray because everyone else is just too good ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
3. What's your favourite episode of 4?
Episode two THE beloved my one and only 🥺💖 12/10 would gladly watch Owen and Tom sit around chatting and mirroring the cafeteria vibes either as Lokius or themselves for the rest of my days
4. What is your favourite season of 5?
Gotta be S2!! All the earlier seasons are gold so was very tempted by the latter half of S3 but S2's like a tour de force
5. What's your favourite relationship in 3?
Baxter and Quinn would an obvious one since John and Phil are married in every role and this is no exception but the dynamic between Baxter and Rick is so weirdly fascinating?? They just clash so instantly, usually to great disaster but will never stop themselves or learn from their mistakes, absolutely obsessed tbh
6. Who is your anti relationship in 2?
I don't really have one?? If pressed I wasn't interested in Anathema and Newt being shoved together for no real reason or the implication of ending up with someone because you're told but I don't have any active dislike for them or their pairing
7. How long have you watched 1?
Well I was pretty late to pick the show up and watched for the first time around three years ago, have since rewatched the entire series at least 5 times in full, and various clips more times than I could ever count lol
8. How did you become interested in 3?
Thank my url namesake, lol. Truly the most stunning TV experience start to finish I've had with a flawless all star cast and just criminally underrated show in general!!
9. Who is your favourite actor in 4?
🤣🤣 Feel as if I've walked right into this one and y'all don't even need to hear the answer but that would be Owen Wilson, whose take on Mobius has honestly been life changing for me 💖
10. Which show do you prefer 1, 2 or 5?
Oh man as much as I adore Psych I'm stuck between Life on Mars and Good Omens on this one... Oh this is the worst, okay, I'm going... Life on Mars! When taking the point of how much I love both main pairs out of the picture there are more elements of and characters in LoM I think I enjoy more
11. Which show have you seen more episodes of 1 or 3?
I've watched both fully through multiple times but Life on Mars just edges by with having more episodes so that'll be the one!
12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
Loki or Ravonna just for sheer proximity of how much time would be spent around Mobius lmao, literally my only primary consideration
13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 5?
Laughing so hard at this because ironically my favorite character in Psych has pondered many scenarios potentially resulting in his own death lmao. If necessary he'd probably prefer a blaze of glory gunfight but I don't think he'd mind being taken out by his favorite land mine going off?? "Sweet music. And then…nothin' but red mist." 😂
14. Would a 3/4 crossover work?
Not necessarily unless you mean would it work in terms of turning me on in ways I've yet to experience in this life because yes, yes, and YES 😳😳
15. Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely, but strangely okay couple.
Idk if it would be the most unlikely but Sam and Chris would've been cute and I always enjoyed how earnestly Chris ended up admiring Sam's approach to the work and who he is as a person
16. Overall, which show has the better cast, 3 or 5?
I mean Mad Dogs is my favorite show of all time in part because of how talented the cast is in balancing their roles and I can't see that changing plus I'd follow those guys anywhere
Tagging @faylights, @too-funky, @safedistancefrombeingsmart, @symphony-in-silver, @colourfulwatson, @bebx, @linz33y, @michaelsheens, @veraynes-blog, @aleerax, @abitofboth, @eyeldritch, @lovingvincent, @seekers-who-are-lovers, @z-aliada, and @alternatively-undesignated as always only if y'all feel like it plus anyone else who wants to join! 💕

PSA: New Tags
I'm trying to come up with new tags for my posts about Loki S2. And I find it kinda silly because these are just my opinions why should I tag them as positive or negative, anti or pro, or whatever. they can be both. They are both. Ugh.
Anyway, I was awake till 5 a.m. last night and I spent my time making gifs and finishing one of my posts which I'm going to post soon and here's what I come up with for new tags:
Content: Tag
S1 and S2 Criticism: loki tv show negativity, loki series criticism
S1 criticism: loki s1 negativity, loki s1 criticism
S2 criticism: loki s2 negativity, loki s2 criticism
S1 pro/positive content: loki s1 positivity (I don't think I ever use this tag :D but just in case)
S2 pro/positive content: loki s2 positivity
S1 and S2 pro/positive/general content: loki tv show, loki series
Tagging posts for characters and ships are even more difficult. I always try to analyze characters fairly and regardless of my emotions.
I don't hate Sylvie, I sympathize with her a lot of times but I don't deny that she has a lot of flaws and she wasn't well-written especially in S1.
I don't like Mobius. Ok I hate him. But there were a lot of times that I liked him in S2. Still my perspective on him is negative. And imo with good reason. I acknowledge that he has good characteristics though. And I think one of the reasons I hate this character is because Owen Wilson played the role so well, and not mentioning that this character is very flawed isn't fair to his portrayal.
So I don't know whether to tag my analysis of these characters. Tell me if you want or don't want the analysis about them to be tagged according to the content.
About ships. I'm neutral about sylkie so you can find content on it on my blog. Lokius is a NoTP for me. There will be no content or meta about it. But you also won't find posts hating on ships on my blog. Because I hate ship wars and I find them useless.

if any mutuals on main are curious owen wilson has gone mysteriously awol from public life since loki s2. well after the season wrapped he was singing its praises and saying how much fun he had shooting. he did a lot of press and events for disneys haunted mansion right up until the strikes. since the strikes ended though he's still stayed completely radio silent on loki despite his earlier enthusiasm and participation in press. the bts documentary also curiously never got a sit down interview with him even though all other cast were shot. nearly all other cast with smaller roles have done retroactive press for the series and even appeared at the emmys together. owen has been missing from all despite being arguably the co lead. he's not tied to any upcoming films or shows (apart from a feature with woody harrelson which was supposed to start filming and just hasn't??) despite being extremely busy for the past few years. he's been spotted out and about golfing and watching sports games but for some reason he's semi retired?? im hoping he's just decided to chill for a bit rather than any personal issues or allegations but it's certainly odd. i don't really care for gossip but i desperately wanna know what's he doing next or whether he's retired or?? deadpool 3 was initially supposed to star owen wilsons mobius but got rewritten at some point in 2022/3 to star matthew mcfayden in a new role as mr. paradox. it's all so fishy but the timelines don't make sense. he clearly had a good relationship with disney/marvel up until very recently and im only heard nice things about him from crew so i don't think anything happened but he's just completely pulled away from most things? if anyone's familiar with his history of mental health struggles you can see why it's a bit concerning but he generally seems to be doing super well so???

Ahead of the release of Disney+'s Loki Season 2, two new Marvel Studios Legends episodes were released on the streaming platform.
Since the beginning of Phase 4, Marvel Studios has released episodes of a series called Legends ahead of every major project, highlighting certain characters or aspects that will play a prominent role in an upcoming movie or Disney+ show.
The Loki Season 2 episodes were already previously announced back in August.
For example, the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy team each received their own episode before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was released in theaters, and each one of those installments focused on its respective character and their journey throughout the MCU up to that point.
Loki Season 2's Marvel Studios Legends Episodes
Season 2 of Loki will officially begin streaming on Disney+ starting on Thursday, October 5, but ahead of that, two new Loki-centric episodes of Marvel Studios Legends are now available for fans to watch.
The two episodes that will continue to build hype for Season 2 aren't focused on any specific characters.
Tom Hiddleston's Loki already received his own episode before Season 1 came out, so the two new episodes will be about something else.
Tumblr media
The first new episode of Legends is titled "TVA" and takes viewers throughout the history of the Time Variance Authority as seen in Loki Season 1.
This episode just serves as a bit of a refresher to what the TVA is in general and the role it played in the show's first batch of episodes.
Tumblr media
The second episode of Legends that was released stays along the same lines as it is called "Variants."
Variants have become a huge element of Phase 4, and Season 1 of Loki is largely to thank for introducing fans to different versions of popular characters.
The "Variants" episode also plays some of the hits of Season 1, showing the different Loki Variants that were prominent throughout the show. It also features Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror from Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, as Majors will play a major role in Season 2 as Victor Timely, a Variant of the Conqueror.
Where is Mobius & Sylvie?
Fans may be a little confused as to why Marvel Studios would elect to give the TVA and Variants their own episodes of Marvel Studios Legends instead of Owen Wilson's Mobius and/or Sophia Di Martino's Sylvie.
Mobius and Sylvie are extremely important characters and were already confirmed to be by Loki's side in the greater portion of the upcoming Season 2.
However, the answer to why they didn't receive their own episodes is fairly simple.
Sylvie is featured a lot in the "Variants" episode of Legends as she is a Variant herself. That episode talked about her in great detail and even showcased her big moment at the end of Season 1 when she killed He Who Remains.
Mobius' case is fairly similar to Sylvie's. He was the focal point of the TVA's episode of Legends that was just released. However, not much was talked about him as a character rather the TVA itself and how he was a member.
Seeing as how Mobius was so important in Season 1 and will likely continue to be just as much in Season 2, he probably could have benefited from his own episode.
It also wouldn't have hurt the fans any, seeing as how an episode focused solely on him would have refreshed everyone's memory of his role in the first installment.
The first episode of Season 2 of Loki will be available to stream on Disney+ on Thursday, October 5 at 9 p.m. ET.

Why do you hate the Loki series I’m genuinely interested
OH BOY HERE WE GO. I didn't watch season 2 so just note that.
I'll shorten it cause I'm on mobile and I really can't type as much as usual but if you look it up on my account there's some complaining somewhere
1. Horrible characterisation
As a long time Loki fan BC of his character, since I'm not one of them horny bastards (respect y'all but not me), it was literally a disgrace. The producer didn't know much about him and it showed. The writing team made it clear they had your average annoying base level interpretation that he's full of himself, self obsessed, etc. And again it showed. Obviously if you watch thor 1 it's obvious that isn't true, the self importance is an act to cover up a lottttt of insecurity. They also made them kinda wimpy at times too? And I can't understand why. Trust me if you followed those morons on twitter around 2021 it was rage inducing .
2. Sylvie.
As a comics fan, Sylvie is literally an abomination . She's a terrible mashup of Sylvie lushton, Amora, and fem presenting Loki. I'll come back to that last one. Her romantic role in the story could have been covered by Amora, and have another version as a variant, much like agent of Asgard, a comic which delved into some similar topics muchhhh better. Plus, Sylvie lushton is like. Resented. Why would you add her into the mix.
3. Genderfluid rep
Ok this one hit harder cause I identified as that back then. So anyway, comics Loki is genderfluid. Explicitly. Again, agent of Asgard handles this well. Prior to the show, the producers did say there would be representation of this. The representation in question turned out to be splitting boy Loki and girl Loki into two people and making them kiss. Which was weird and obviously not representation, especially when all the variants were like shock !! Horror!!! Surprise!!! Upon finding out there's a girl version. Also a couple of my mutuals had this happen to them personally and observed it on tiktok, genderfluid ppl getting weird ass comments under their videos about selfcest like bruh 😭😭
A few more minor gripes with plot holes and the crappy bi rep but overall those were my main issues with it. Wow I wrote more than I thought i would.
Basically the only thing I liked was Owen Wilson and the soundtrack. Natalie Holt is the fucking best she named the song when Sylvie and Loki kissed 'stop' and she named one of the songs lokius which is Loki and Mobius ship name 😭😭 literal icon

Marvel Studios confirmed more than a dozen actors that will take the spotlight in Season 2 of the Loki series on Disney+.
Loki will officially become the MCU's first Disney+ series (animated or live-action) to continue into a second season when the God of Mischief finally returns to the small screen near the end of 2023.
The show's leading actor already teased that the entire cast of Season 1 will be back for Season 2, setting a great deal of continuity into stone while the Multiverse and the Time Variance Authority (TVA) fall into complete chaos.
And with this series also looking to change up the MCU's release strategy on Disney+ with a move to Fridays, fans will be anxious to find out what this new round of Multiversal mayhem will deliver to the Marvel Studios narrative.
Loki Season 2 Cast Members Confirmed
With that being said, it's time to look at the 13 main cast members that are confirmed to play a role in Season 2 of Marvel Studios' Loki on Disney+.
These actors were confirmed via an official new press release and are expected to have the most screentime throughout the season...
1.) Tom Hiddleston (Loki)
Continuing to play the leading role in his first solo MCU project, Tom Hiddleston will bring the God of Mischief back for his first full appearance in the MCU's Phase 5. He was last seen during the post-credits scene from February's Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania in the audience for a presentation about time, which ties directly into this new season.
This season, Loki will be a full-fledged member of the TVA as he looks to fix the Multiverse and keep things from going into chaos following the Sacred Timeline's destruction at the end of Season 1.
2.) Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie)
Playing a co-starring role in nearly every episode of Season 1 was Sophia Di Martino as the Loki Variant, Sylvie, who's set to return in full force for Season 2. She was last seen killing He Who Remains and staying at the Citadel at the End of Time while the timeline fell apart, although she's expected to jump back into the action quickly upon her return.
Di Martino teased that Sylvie will "fundamentally still be the same character" in Season 2, likely being one of Loki's only anchors to the timeline he remembers from Season 1.
3.) Jonathan Majors (Victor Timely/Kang the Conqueror)
Returning for Season 2 after a guest starring role in the Season 1 finale will be Jonathan Majors as the villainous Kang the Conqueror, with fans ready to see the Victor Timely Variant this time around. This character was first teased in the post-credits scene from Ant-Man 3, and he's reportedly set to be a key antagonist in this new season for Loki and the TVA.
Majors is currently clouded in controversy due to his ongoing court case for domestic abuse, leaving his place in the MCU's future uncertain after this series.
4.) Ke Huy Quan (Ouroboros)
Following his Oscar win for Best Supporting Actor in the 2022 hit movie Everything Everywhere All at Once, Ke Huy Quan will take his star power to Marvel Studios for a debut in the MCU. Best known for his role in that hit movie along with his history as Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Quan has fans giddy to see what he can do under the Marvel brand.
Quan will reportedly play a character named Ouroboros, who's said to be in charge of all technology issued and developed at the TVA, and the potential for his character to shine is sky-high.
5.) Owen Wilson (Mobius)
Owen Wilson will be back with the MCU as Mobius for a second round of action, reprising his role as one of the top field agents at the TVA for Season 2. He was last seen trying to figure out who Loki was after the Sacred Timeline's destruction at the end of Season 1, but he also stood in the audience next to the God of Mischief in Ant-Man 3 asking how Victor Timely was "this terrifying figure."
While it's still unclear if this is the same Mobius from Season 1, he'll be right by Loki's side as they uncover all of Kang's secrets behind the TVA this time around.
6.) Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Judge Renslayer)
Judge Ravonna Renslayer returns to the fold behind Gugu Mbatha-Raw's performance for Season 2, with the character having last been seen exiting through a portal to an undisclosed location at the end of last season. And with the actress teasing that "no time has passed" between the two seasons, curiosity about her journey will be high upon her return.
In the early trailer released for the series at the D23 Fan Expo, she appears to be locked in a holding cell looking worse off for wear, teasing that she may go through some kind of hell thanks to Kang's newly-imposed rule.
7.) Wunmi Mosaku (Hunter B-15)
While it's unclear if this series will bring back the same Variant of Hunter B-15 as Season 1, Wunmi Mosaku will suit up once again as the TVA's Minutemen leader for the next six episodes. She was last seen alongside Mobius and Loki as they worked through the Kang mayhem to figure out their next move in Episode 6.
Early trailer footage showed the character donning a bright orange fancy outfit with gold jewelry all over her, teasing that she may dive into some undercover work as she looks to regain a sense of control over her situation
8.) Eugene Cordero (Casey)
Only appearing in half of Season 1's six episodes, Eugene Cordero made an impression on fans as TVA worker Casey, especially once he revealed his desk to be full of Infinity Stones.
Cordero was bumped up to a series regular for Season 2, and while his story is still being kept under wraps, he'll be in for plenty more comedic moments as he gets more screen time than he did two years ago.
9.) Rafael Casal
Following his impressive work on the Blindspotting TV series, Rafael Casal was confirmed to join the MCU with a role in Loki's Season 2, although that role is still being hidden from the public.
Set photos showed him performing in the U.K. wearing what appears to be an outfit worn by TVA prisoners, possibly teasing his proclivity for crime across the timeline. However, there's no telling what he'll do to get on the TVA's radar.
10.) Tara Strong (Miss Minutes)
Toeing the line between good and evil, master voice actress Tara Strong planted her flag in the MCU by providing the voice for the TVA's unsettling mascot, Miss Minutes. By the end of Season 1, the story revealed that she was under Kang's watch the entire time, guiding Loki and Sylvie through the Citadel at the End of Time and working with Judge Renslayer before the TVA fell.
While plot details are mostly being kept a secret for Season 2, she's confirmed to play an even bigger role when the show returns as fans see a new take on the organization that oversees all of time and space.
11.) Kate Dickie
Along with Jonathan Majors' Kang Variants, Marvel Studios will also introduce Kate Dickie to the MCU in a villainous role during Loki's second season on Disney+ after boasting credits on other major properties like Game of Thrones.
For the time being, Dickie's role is being kept under wraps, although there are countless options for characters that she could play who would pose a serious threat to the fabric of the Multiverse.
12.) Liz Carr
Only boasting a few credits on her resume thus far, including an appearance on The Witcher for Netflix, Liz Carr will take her talents to the MCU for a thus undisclosed role in Season 2 of Loki.
13.) Neil Ellice
After only playing a minor role as Hunter D-90 in Loki Season 1, Neil Ellice will look to make more of an impact on the MCU with his return to the TVA in Season 2.
Ellice appeared in four of Loki's first six episodes alongside the TVA's Minutemen, and with the organization going through plenty of major changes, he'll look to adapt and grow as a character while the Minutemen attempt to correct and protect the timeline.
Nothing much new here, except for my baby D-90 coming back.

You might have done a little happy dance upon learning that Ke Huy Quan — who first left his mark on Hollywood in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom as Short Round and most recently won an Academy Award for his role in Everything, Everywhere All At Once — was joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, when Quan found out an invitation for him to join the MCU was being extended he had to pull over to the side of the road because he was getting teary-eyed and couldn’t see.
“I’ve been a fan of the Marvel Universe for a long, long time, and I always fantasized about joining the MCU family but that was only a fantasy that I didn’t think it would ever come true, it was a distant dream of mine.” Quan explained. “I watched Loki season 1 on Disney Plus and I thought it was one of the most creative and just best-looking cinematography, costume, production design; everything was just top notch. It was one of the most creative shows that I’ve ever seen in a long, long time.”
After his role in the Oscar-winning Everything, Everywhere All At Once caught the attention of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, he reached out to Quan with an offer.
“One day my agent told me, ‘Kevin Feige is going to give you a call from Marvel Studios’, and he told me between a certain time, between 5 and 7, and I was so nervous but at the same time I was also very, very excited. I remember I was in a meeting at that time, and I told the person I was having the meeting with, ‘I’m so sorry, but at 4:50 I’m going to have to leave,’ but I didn’t tell them why, so I set my alarm clock at 4:50. And when it rang, I got out of there, expecting this important call from Mr. Kevin Feige. I was just driving home and all of a sudden, my phone rang, and I picked it up, and on the other end I heard this voice, hello, hi, I’m Kevin Feige, hello Ke.”
On the phone, Feige praised Quan’s performance, which tugged on his heartstrings so much he couldn’t contain his emotions.
“I started getting teary eyed and I was driving, and I couldn’t see. And I had to pull off to the side of the road and we’re talking, and then he said, would you like to join the MCU family? I was ecstatic, I was so happy and to get that call from him meant the world to me.”
Quan now joins the MCU in the second season of Marvel Studios’ Loki playing Ouroboros — or O.B. for short. He works, all alone, in the very bottom basement of the Time Variance Authority, but “he’s super happy with his job, he doesn’t sleep, and he works 24/7.”
youtube
It might be intimidating joining the ranks alongside long-time Marvel star Tom Hiddleston and his on-screen best friend, Owen Wilson’s Mobius. But Quan fit right in.
“He's a dream, I can't imagine anyone else playing this role,” Executive Producer Kevin Wright explains. “What you see on camera is what we get behind the camera. He slotted right into this team, which is already a fantastic ensemble. He's just a beautiful, inspiring person to work with.”
Wright notes that what Hiddleston and Wilson created with Loki and Mobius is “beloved,” and adding a third person might make for a third-wheel situation. But not with Quan. Quan, “came in with his own kind of unique aspect to that trio. It was just honestly being true to himself, being true to the character. He just adds this extra ingredient that wasn't there before. There's almost this whimsy. He just felt like a natural part of the team.”
It might have been a seamless fit, but that doesn’t mean Quan didn’t come prepared with a ton of questions about his character and the world of the TVA.
“In the beginning I was quite nervous because it’s such a well-written character and I wanted to do it justice,” he continues. “I had a lot of creative meetings with our producers and with our directors. I would sit down, and I would ask them all these kinds of questions because I wanted to give justice to this wonderfully created character by our writer and producer.”
Looking back, Quan calls the whole process memorable, adding, “Every day I walk on set in a great mood and that’s how I finish the day as well. Every single person — the cast and the crew, has made this journey so memorable.”
And as for where he fits into the larger MCU? Quan’s already passed the first test of not talking about spoilers — not even asking about them.
“I’m only familiar with what Loki Season 2 is about but I don’t want to know too much,” He jokes. “I want to be like a fan and discover it just the way everybody else does.”
Editor’s note: The following interview was conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike began on July 14, 2023.

"y’all are over complicating owen’s “suspicious” absence. be serious. owen doesn’t appear to enjoy doing promotion and he’s not interested in the show. he probably sat out because he wanted to. since he’s not a main character, he has that option. it’s not shocking that owen wasn’t nominated. his phoned in performance as mobius is nothing new. just owen wilson playing owen wilson again."
we are not overcomplicating anything. first of all, i agree that he doesn't enjoy doing promotion, but he did a bunch of interviews for hauned mansion and seemed fine. same for loki s1 promotion.
second of all, it IS shocking that he wasn't nominated and they did him dirty. you should watch some of his movies, because mobius is different from all of his other roles. his performance was fantastic and he deserves the awards or at least a nomination. y'all who say that "it's just owen wilson playing owen wilson", watch his movies and then watch loki again (and pay attention to the "scar tissue" scene especially). if you still can't see the difference, then you are the problem, not him.
