Addie x reader !
Addie meets readers parents for the first time and it doesn’t go well, Addie comforts reader after

ice cream
“You don’t have to come in,” You bit your lip nervously as you look out the passenger side window.
“I came with you,” Addison places her hand on your knee. “I’m coming in. I wouldn’t rather be doing this with anyone else.”
“Okay,” You smile softly, leaning in for a short kiss.
“Come on,” Addison pinches your chin between her thumb and side of her pointer finger as you lean in for another kiss.
“Just one more,” You beg.
Addison chuckles with a shake of her head, but reluctantly leans in for another.
“Okay. Now I’m ready,” You swipe your thumb under her lip to remove the smeared lipstick. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”
Addison comes around the car to open your door, because that’s just the kind of person she is. It’s part of the reason you fell for her in the first place - how kind and thoughtful of a person she was.
She holds her hand out for you to take, and she helps pull you out of the car.
Wrapping your arm around her waist, you timidly walk towards the entrance to your childhood home. You were nervous because your parents never really excepted your orientation, nor would they be proud of the gaping age gap between you and Addison. But you didn’t care - not really, anyhow - about what they had to say as long as you were happy.
And Addison made you happy. More than.
You lift your fist to knock on the door, and hesitate for a moment before rapping your fist against the door.
You remove your hand from Addison’s waist as the door swings open.
“Y/n,” Your mom, Ellen, says. She can’t even hold eye contact with you.
You clear your throat, trying to stop a lump from forming. The last thing you needed was to meltdown in front of your parents.
“Come in, your father is sitting at the table,” She makes a face at Addison, and you let her walk in first. Your hand still in hers as your mother shuts the door behind you.
The food is on the table when you make it towards the dining room, along with your father.
“Hey dad,” You lean down to hug him, and his hand pats your back in a hello.
Your parents sit on one side of the table, while you and Addison sit on the other. Addison’s hand lands on your thigh when your leg starts bouncing nervously.
A soft smile takes over your lips in a silent thank you, and you place your non-dominant hand on top of hers.
“I’m Richard,” Your father nods, not looking Addison in the eye at all as he moves food around his plate.
“Are you here to eat, or what?” Your mom gives you a look and you sit uncomfortably in your seat.
“Yes,” You inhale sharply, you and Addison both plating up some food out of the pans placed on the table.
You take a bite of the potatoes, and fight the urge to moan aloud at the taste.
Your foot begins to shake under the table at the awkward silence. You draw your bottom lip between your teeth nervously.
“Are you going to introduce us to your.. friend?” Your dad spits out.
“This is Addison,” You don’t look up from your plate.
“And what does Allison do?” Your mother asks, purposefully saying Addison’s name incorrectly as she did in the past.
“I’m a fetal and neonatal surgeon at the same hospital as Y/n - Seattle Grace,” Addison speaks for herself. “That’s actually how we met.”
Your mother hums, obviously as uninterested as she could get.
“Yeah..” Your smile at her. “I’m interested in peds and fetal, as you know. And Addison is teaching me.”
“That’s right,” Addison smiles politely at both of your parents, patting her hand on yours.
All of the sudden, your father drops his silverware onto the plate, “I can’t do this. I’m sorry, sweetheart. I really tried, but.. I don’t accept this.”
“Dad—“ Your lips turn to a frown. “You haven’t even tried.”
“I have!”
“We’ve been here a few minutes,” The lump begins to form, faster and faster. “You’ve only met her once. You—“
“It’s okay,” Addison squeezes your thigh reassuringly, rubbing small circles on your inner thigh with her thumb. “They don’t have to like me.”
“No—“ You can’t hold the tears back. “Mom, please!”
“I’m sorry,” Your mom continues looking down. “He’s right. I think it’s best if Allison goes. You can stay, but she has to leave.”
You lean back in your chair, as if you were struck by lightning. Your chest felt heavy and you couldn’t breathe anymore. Your eyebrows furrow, and all your eyes hold is betrayal.
“How could you say something like that?” Tears silently fall down, your voice cracking.
Addison stays quiet, and you’re partly glad for that, because you didn’t need her making matters worse. But it also would’ve been nice if she tried standing up for you.
“We’ll be going,” Addison stands, putting her hand on your shoulder to snap you out of the betrayed trance you have set on your parents.
“Take a piece of pie,” Your father watches as you stand.
“Shove the pie up your—“
“Okay,” Addison shoves you towards the door. “Let’s go, darling. We don’t need to make this worse than it already is.”
“They— how—“
“I know,” Addison kisses your temple before turning towards your parents. “Thank you for having us. And it’s Addison. You have a wonderful daughter, and you shouldn’t throw that away because you can’t get over your beliefs.”
You smile sadly as your girlfriend tries to fight for you, even though it won’t work.
“Have a good night, now.”
You keep your head turned away from Addison because you don’t want her to see you so distraught. You’ve cried in front of her before, sure. But never quite in this capacity, or for this long of a period.
Addison starts the car, silently driving you towards your - the residents - shared house, you hope. All you want right now is to indulge in some ice cream, a movie, and to cry into your pillow.
You close your eyes, resting your head against the window.
“We’re here,” Addison says excitedly. Too excitedly for you to be at the house.
You open your eyes, and your lips come together in a small smile.
She knew.
She knew you were sad and that the only thing that helps you is ice cream.
“It’s a nice gesture,” You make no attempt to remove your seatbelt. “But I’m not exactly public ready. And I don’t even have any money.”
Addison chuckles at that.
“I’ll get you something. What do you want?” She begins to unbuckle her seatbelt.
“You don’t have to,” You shook your head, giving a fake smile. “I’m fine. Just take me home.”
“Look at me,” You could feel Addison’s gaze on your face, but you didn’t want to look at her, afraid you’d start crying again. She softly turns your head towards her. “I’m not taking you home.”
You lift your brow.
“You just had a terrible night,” Addison tilts her head, looking at you with nothing but love in her stare. “I’m getting you ice cream, maybe some food if you’re still hungry, and then we’re going to go back to my place. Where we will watch all your favorite movies and I will let you cry into my chest while I rub your back. So either tell me what you want, or I’ll order for you.”
“Order for me,” You lean into her touch.
“Okay,” Addison gives you a peck on the lips. “By the way, I’m not afraid of a little tears. I’m here for you through whatever.”
As the door shuts, you say to yourself, “I think I love you.”
She comes back with your favorite flavor, and you don’t even question how she knows that, because of course she knows, along with a burger for you and one for herself.
Addison spends the rest of the night cuddling you and rubbing your back, and she doesn’t even complain when you request to watch your favorite movie not once, not twice, but three times.
And Addison seemed to get through to your parents, because you wake up with messages from both your mother and your father.

Word Count: 419
Author: Charlotte
Normally you weren’t one to skive off when you were on shift, but this day was too long and strenuous to care. You had exchanged a look with your girlfriend before heading into the on-call room to check that no one was in there. The coast was clear, and you waited the few minutes until Addison joined you, closing the door behind her, wedging something under the edge of it to work as a lock or at least a warning for someone coming in.
The two of you had been together for a while but with the hospital being worse than a high school when it came to gossip, you had kept the whole relationship a secret. You weren’t thrilled about sneaking around but it had its enjoyable moments such as hiding in the on-call room together to not only get to spend time together but also have an escape from the workday.
Addison joined you on the lower bunk of one of the beds, instantly leaning in to press her lips to yours.
“I won’t have long before O’Malley will look for me,” she stated. “He’s on my service today and we have a surgery this afternoon that he’ll have questions about.”
You shrugged your shoulders. “He can look as much as he wants, I’ve got you for now.”
Addison rolled her eyes at you, pushing off her surgical jacket to give her a larger range of movement as well as knowing that soon the rest of her scrubs would be joining it.
“Whose service are you on today?” She asked.
“Sloan’s,” you stated. “So he won’t even notice that I’ve gone, at least not until he wants me to do some menial task for him. It’s the main reason I needed to get out of there for a bit, it’s been one of those days.”
She leaned in to press her lips along your jaw, smiling against your skin.
“Well, I can provide some distraction,” she said as she moved onto your neck.
“I think that would be much appreciated,” you smiled. “Do you think anyone saw you follow me in here?”
Addison shook her head. “Our secret should be safe from their prying eyes, but if you don’t want to risk it…”
Her words trailed off. You lifted her chin so that she had to look you in the eyes.
“When have I not been up for a little risk?”
Your lips collided together once more as you used one another for the much needed distraction.

Addison walks towards the break room, hoping to find Amelia there before it’s too late. She walks into the room, luckily seeing the youngest Shepherd sitting on the couch, coffee in hand, talking with Maggie Pierce. “Amelia, could I talk to you for a minute?” She says right away, skipping the pleasantries.
With a look, Amelia stands up. “Sure.” She chuckles quietly, slightly nervous. “What’s up?” She asks after Maggie leaves to room for the two.
“I called Doctor Y/L/N here to help me with a patient of mine, she’s arriving today.” She tells, trying to gauge what Amelia’s thoughts are about seeing her ex again. “I wanted to tell you before she’s here.”
“Okay, thanks for telling me.” And with that Amelia leaves the room. Addison sighs, rubbing her forehead. Suddenly she isn’t too sure if she did the right thing, but she really needs Y/N here, she’s the best in her field. She just has to hope everything goes smoothly.
“Addison!” Y/N’s voice calls out excitedly.
The red head turns around to see her doctor friend walking towards her with a bright smile. “Hey, stranger.” Addison laughs, meeting her half way to hug her. “I’m so glad to finally see you. How was the world?” She pulls away, her hands on Y/N’s shoulders to see how much she has changed over the years.
“The world was good.” Y/N decided to leave the practice in Los Angeles to join the Doctors Without Borders, traveling all over the world with them. “How’s Seattle? I didn’t think you’d come back here.” She looks around the hospital. This isn’t her first time in Grey Sloan Memorial, but it has been a long time since she was last here.
“Seattle is good. You know I go where babies need me, and this baby needs us both.” She nods her head forward, so they start walking. “The baby is two months old and his heart is incredibly weak. He won’t survive without a donor heart, but getting a heart that small will take too much time.”
“That’s where I come in.”
“That’s where you come in.” Addison smiles, she missed working with her. “His heart could become strong enough, if you fixed the veins around it.” They walk into a room full of pictures of the baby’s heart and veins.
Y/N looks through the pictures, at times picking one of them up to see it closer. The heart is compromised, and the baby won’t survive long if they do nothing, but the surgery Addison is talking about is incredibly risky. Fortunately, Y/N is a risk taker.
“I can do it,” she states, “but I’m gonna need a lot of help. His vitals need to be monitored closely.”
Letting out a sigh of relief, Addison nods. “I’ll get you anything you need.” She pauses for a moment, contemplating on saying anything. “Amelia is here, you know? Incase you wanted to talk to her.”
“Oh.” Y/N clears her throat, cleaning up the pictures into a neat pile so she wouldn’t have to look at Addison staring at her. “I didn’t know that.” She mumbles.
The now silent and tense atmosphere of the room makes Addison question whether she made the right decision. Amelia is one of the most important people in her life, she’s her sister, but she also cares about Y/N a lot. Their relationship didn’t really end on the best terms, mostly because of Amelia’s addiction, but the relationship itself was good. They both were happiest Addison has ever seen when they were together.
“I’ll make a surgery plan and then get back to you, okay?” Y/N states, not waiting for Addison to answer as she leaves the room.
Her mind is all over the place, which makes her walk through the hallways with less attention than usually, though she does greet the familiar faces going past her. However, she doesn’t notice the person walking right towards her with the same state of mind. So, they crash into each other.
All the pictures Y/N was holding fly to the floor. “Shit, I’m sorry.” She grumbles, kneeling down to gather them.
“Y/N?”
The familiar voice makes her head snap up. Amelia is standing over her, an indescribable look on her face. The exes stare at each other in silence, both unsure what to do. They both knew of the others presence in the hospital, but they didn’t think they’d bump into each other, at least not yet.
Her breath hitches as she looks over Amelia’s face. As much as she doesn’t like admitting it, she missed her. “Amy.” With a mumble, Y/N stands up, dusting off her scrubs.
“Amelia, no one calls me Amy anymore.” She says with a small smile. Y/N just nods, putting it to her mind. “I haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yeah.”
Amelia scratches the back of her neck. “So, Addison called you.”
“She did.” The pictures are starting to crease in her grip. “There’s a..baby, obviously, uhm, and she needed help.” She clears her throat, looking around for an exit. “I actually have to make a surgery plan for tomorrow, so, I’ll see you around, I guess.”
Going to walk past Amelia, she stops once a hand takes hold of her arm. “Could we talk? Just the two of us, later today.”
The ask makes Y/N hesitant, but the way Amelia is looking at her makes her give in. “Okay.”
“Awesome,” a smile spreads on Amelia’s face, “coffee, after work?”
“I’ll see you then.” She lets go and Y/N walks away, Amelia’s eyes never leaving her back.
Amelia paces around the lobby of the hospital, her mind racing a mile a minute. She has always considered Y/N her biggest love, maybe even soulmate, if she truly believes in them. Seeing her again has brought the feelings back to the surface and she isn’t sure what to do with them.
Her thoughts come to a halt when she notices Y/N walking towards her. Instead of her scrubs, she’s now wearing her everyday clothes. She looks just as beautiful as she did all those years ago. And she decides to tell her so, “you look beautiful.” Y/N hums with a slight smile, her cheeks turn warm, but she pays no mind to it. “There’s a small cafe down the street.”
“Let’s go then.” As they walk side by side, Y/N bites the inside of her cheek, looking down at the pavement. The silence is uncomfortable and they desperately want to break it, but neither of them know what’s appropriate to say in a situation like this. “How have you been?” Y/N decodes to ask, glancing at Amelia.
“Better. A lot better actually. I’ve been sober for a long time, though it’s still hard sometimes. I got two new sisters, sort of,” she chuckles, “Meredith and Maggie. And I’m the head of neuro department.”
“I heard about Derek. I’m sorry.”
“Yeah.” Amelia sighs. “It’s okay.” She opens the door of the cafe for Y/N before stepping inside herself. At the counter, they order their coffees, and when it comes time to pay, Amelia pushes Y/N’s hand away from the machine. “My treat.” She pays both of their coffees.
“You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” They move to the other side pf the counter to wait for their coffees. “It’s the least I can do after,” she pauses, “everything.”
“It wasn’t completely your fault.” She looks away from her. “You were going through a tough time.”
“That’s no excuse. I hurt you and drove away one of the best things in my life.”
Being one of the best things in her life sounds like an exaggeration, but the sincerity in Amelia’s eyes makes her believe she really means it. “You’re also important to me.” Before the conversation van keep on going, the barista shouts their names. They take their coffees and find a quiet corner place to sit.
“So, what have you been doing all there years?”
“I moved around with Doctors Without Borders.” Y/N sips her drink. “Also studied a bit on the side.”
“And your love life?”
If Amelia was anything, she was blunt. If she wanted know something, she’d ask, Y/N usually liked her unfiltered talk. “Love life, huh?” She giggles with a shake of her head. “There were some flings and one time things, you know, to release stress I suppose. But nothing that stayed.” Amelia listens intently while she drinks her coffee. “And you?”
She shrugs. “There was Link and Kai, but just like every relationship I have had, they ended with someone’s heart broken.” Amelia has a grin on her face. She has already gotten over the past two relationships, but it’s still disheartening to have failed relationships.
“Hm, you’ll find your person.”
“Maybe,” Amelia keeps eye contact with Y/N, “I really hope so.”
Looking down, Y/N taps the mug in front of her with her nails, all the feelings around them getting overwhelming. “Listen,” she changes the subject, “could you be in the surgery tomorrow? I need someone to monitor her brain activity, and you are the best there is.” She lifts her head to give Amelia a teasing look. “Or at least you used to be. Have you gotten worse over the years?”
“Worse? Do you know who you’re talking to? I’m better than ever.” Amelia answers to the teasing look with a challenging look of her own. “What I’m hearing is, you need my help because you aren’t in the best shape.” Her elbows are leaning against the table.
“Oh, wow.” Y/N crosses her arms. “Your ego is still sky high.”
Amelia laughs, which Y/N giggle as well.
The surgery has been going on for six hours already, and the whole room is tense. Amelia and Addison are monitoring the baby’s health, while Y/N is rerouting the veins near the heart. The surgery is already nearing its end, but there’s still things to do.
Y/N lets out a sigh, shaking her hand to ease the pain in her wrist. It has stayed on one position for a long time. She can feel multiple pairs of eyes on the side of her head, there’s an audience in the viewing room. This is an once in a lifetime surgery after all. Double checking everything she has done, Y/N lifts her head to her friends. “Are his vitals good?” The two nod. “Alright, we’re ready to close.” She says shakily, not ready to relax just yet. But she can feel the relief coursing through the room.
The sutures closing the opening on the baby’s chest don’t take long, as the wound isn’t as big as on an adult. The moment the last suture is on its place, people in the viewing room start cheering, so do the doctors in the operation room. Addison and one other doctor take the baby to NICU, not before thanking Y/N though.
Walking out of the room, Y/N slumps down to a chair, taking off her scrub cap. Amelia sits down next to her. “Watching you work is seriously magnificent.”
Y/N laughs, “you’re being dramatic.”
“I’m not!” Amelia throws her arm around Y/N’s shoulders, giving her a side hug. “You’re incredibly and I love you.” Y/N turns to look at her. “Give me another chance? Go on a date with me?”
“Okay.”
“Yeah?” Amelia grins widely.
“Yeah.” Y/N smiles too, her heart beating a hundred miles. She isn’t sure if it’s from the surgery she just did, or the fact that Amelia is looking at her like she’s the only person she cares about.
Amelia nods, feeling like she just won the lottery. “I’ll pick you up at eight, wear something pretty.” She kisses her cheek before walking off, going straight to Addison to tell the good news.

One last time - Part 2

Tumblr media
Amelia Shepherd x Female Reader 2,582 words
You're looking after your friend's son, Isaac, when he falls out of a tree and you rush him to St. Ambrose, to get him fixed up and you run into Amelia Shepherd.
Part 1, Part 3
You stood on the patio of your friend's house and watched, with a smile on your face, as her son raced around the garden, a model plane in his hand. Your friend was away on a business trip for a few days and you were always more than happy to look after him for however long it took. A wide smile stretched his cheeks as his eyes followed the brightly coloured plane through the trees, lips pursed as he mimicked its sound. You watched for a while longer as his imagination ran free, entertaining himself, before your eyes flickered down to the watch around your wrist and noticed the time.
"Isaac," you began, "you ready for lunch, bud?" You called out and he nodded his head as he continued to run, you couldn't remember the last time that you had as much energy as he did in that moment. "Okay, I'm gonna go make us some sandwiches," you told him as you walked back into the house toward the kitchen. The radio played soft music as you grabbed the bread, butter and cucumbers -Isaac had been really enjoying them for the past week- before assembling your lunch, making sure to cut Isaac's into triangles and removing the crusts for him.
You placed his plate on the counter and called out for him, but you were met with silence and, so, you called him again, but there was no reply. You let out a deep sigh before picking up his plate and making you way back to the garden. "Do you want to eat outside, Isaac?" You questioned as you pushed the sliding door open, and when he didn't reply again you felt your eyebrows furrow and your heart beat a little faster. "Isaac?" You called out once again, eyes scanning the desolate garden. "Where are you, buddy?" You questioned and walked into the garden.
You heard a struggled cry come from above you and you quickly looked up to find Isaac hanging onto a branch of the tree. Your eyes widened and your breath caught, stuck, in your throat.
"Oh my god," you shouted and tried to reach for him but he was too far up, you looked at the trunk of the tree to find that there were no low-hanging branches; "how'd you get up there? Hang on, hang on, darling, I'm gonna get you down!" You told him as you looked around for something to step on to.
"I'm gonna fall!" He wailed with panic as he felt his grip loosening.
"It's okay, Isaac, just hold onto the tree for as long as you can," you rambled, but he wasn't having any of it.
"I can't!" He screamed with a sob and he felt his hands slipping. He was too far up, but there wasn't any time to think about that because he lost his grip and the best that you could do was to try and catch him. You heard a loud gasp when Isaac knew that he was going to fall and you held your hands out for him. It all happened so quick. His hands left the branch and scrabbled for something else to hold onto, ripping the leaves and twigs from the tree. And he was falling. You saw his head bash against another branch, and then his body crashed into yours and, suddenly, blue sky was all that you could see.
You quickly scrambled to sit up, his small body in your arms, and you pushed the hair out of his face. He wasn't moving, your heart dropped to the pit of your stomach, and you pressed a hand to his chest, a steady beat pumped underneath and you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. You saw his face screw up and he let out a choked sob, you were so relieved, and you hugged him to your chest as you rubbed his back with the palm of your hand. You sat on the ground, cradling Isaac, until the shock was over and his tears turned to ones of pain.
"I know, I know, baby, let's get you to the hospital, okay?" You hushed softly as you stood up and carried him through the house, grabbing the keys to your car and locking the house up, before strapping him into his seat in the back and your eyes widened when they noticed the red blood running down his leg, a nasty gash under his knee. You pressed a quick kiss to his head before moving to the driver's seat and hurriedly turning out of the driveway. The hospital was only a short drive away, but with LA traffic and poor Isaac's wailing it seemed to go on forever; your eyes darting to check on him in the mirror at every moment.
By sheer luck, you were able to pull into a parking space by the hospital and you quickly pulled Isaac from the car and jogged into the trauma centre. His crying quickly alerted anyone of your entrance and you were directed to an open bed. You thanked the nurse with a smile and moved to put Isaac down on the bed, but his arms squeezed tighter around your neck and you felt your heart squeeze in time. You hugged him tighter and slowly sat down on the chair next to the bed, swaying your body lightly and wiping his flowing tears off of his cheeks; trying to calm him down.
Isaac's wailing had turned to strong, jolting hiccups by the time a man came over to you, a hand stretched out.
"Hi, this must be Isaac," he smiled and introduced himself to the boy, "my name's Doctor Freedman and I'm gonna help you out, okay? See what's going on." Doctor Freedman nodded his head and Isaac let out a sniffle as he nodded back. "Do you wanna come sit up here," he patted the bed, "so I can do that?" You looked down at Isaac as he curled into your side and shook his head.
"Doctor Freedman's going to make you feel all better, make the pain go away, so you gotta do what he says, Isaac, okay?" You asked him as you stood up and stepped toward the bed and he, luckily, moved from you to the bed.
"You have to stay next to me," he told you, his hand on yours, and you nodded your head. Doctor Freedman gave you a smile before pulling up a stool and beginning his examination.
"Can you tell me what happened, buddy?" He asked as he checked the multiple scrapes and bruises.
"I- I wanted to make my plane fly, so I climbed the tree and I fell. Now my head really hurts," he stated, "and my leg."
"You had a really bad fall there, but I'll get you feeling better again. You said your head really hurts?" Doctor Freedman caught your eye and Isaac nodded.
"He hit his head on the way down and passed out for a few seconds," you winced as you looked back on that moment and stroked the back of his head with a soft hand. "I think that should be checked on, it was pretty hard." He nodded his head in agreement before turning back to Isaac.
"Okay, Isaac, I'm gonna quickly go find another doctor to have a look at your head, and then I'll clean up your leg, alright?"
"Why?" Isaac questioned.
"Well the other doctor knows a lot more about heads and brains than I do, she's very nice, I promise. I'll be right back," he assured before leaving through the blue curtains. You stepped closer to Isaac, a gentle hand on the back of his head, and you handed him your keys to play with as you waited for Doctor Freedman to come back. Isaac flipped one key over the round clasp then another before getting bored and jingling the keys. You patted your back pocket and let out a small sigh; you had left your phone.
The curtains pulled back to reveal Doctor Freedman, but your eyes instantly fell to the shorter woman next to him. You felt your eyes widen, slightly, with recognition, Amelia Shepherd. She looked good, a little older, healthy; apart from the dark circles under her eyes which were most likely from the insane working hours rather than recreational drugs. She looked really good, her blue eyes still as drowning as ever. Doctor Freedman's voice pulled you out of your trance as he introduced you and Doctor Shepherd offered you her hand to shake, which you did, professional, and then offered her hand to Isaac, cute. You watched fondly as he held her hand and gave it a small shake. She nodded her head in approvement.
"That was a solid shake, little man," she grinned and took the seat next to the bed, you stepped back to give her space to do the exam. "Can you remember the word kitchen for me?" She asked him and he nodded his head. "Good job, can you follow my finger with only your eyes?" She held up her pointer finger and steadily moved it from one side to the other, attention fully focused on the boy in front of her. "That's very good, Isaac, you're doing very well." She grinned and your heart pang, you had missed that smile. "Can you touch your nose with this finger," she questioned and tapped his index finger. Isaac pressed his finger to his nose, his eyes on Amelia's as she held up her own, "and now touch my finger with your finger." Isaac's finger left his nose and instantly went to hers, you felt yourself relax, everything seemed to be just fine.
"Is that your mom?" Amelia whispered to Isaac, her eyes flickering over to find yours and you found your heart beating a little faster.
He shook his head, "No, Y/n's my best friend," he grinned and you smiled back.
"Okay, I'm gonna ask, Y/n, to stand just over there," she pointed to the other side of the curtained room, "and you're going to walk to her in a straight line." Isaac nodded and you moved to where she pointed. Amelia lifted Isaac from the bed and planted him on the floor by her feet before crouching down and telling him to go. He carefully, but steadily, made his way over to you, one foot in front of the other before you lifted him up from the ground and walked over to the two doctors.
Your eyes found Amelia's and you gave her a small smile, Isaac still on your hip and you pushed his hair out of his face.  "Is there anything we should be worried about?" You questioned with concern looking at both the doctors.
"Isaac's just fine," Amelia answered, "just a mild concussion, nothing but a bit of rest won't fix. However, his knee will have to have some stitches, which Doctor Freedman will do." She nodded and he stepped forward with a smile. "And you have a cut on your head that I can clean for you," she noted and you nodded your head shyly. Isaac leaned to whisper in your ear and you couldn't help but chuckle, Amelia's eyebrows furrowed slightly.
"Isaac just wants to know what he needs to do with the word you asked him to remember," you grinned as you watched her face fall; she had forgotten it.
"And what was that word?" Amelia quizzed, playing it off cool like she always did.
Isaac's eyes squinted at her suspiciously, "You don't remember it do you?" Amelia did that thing where she let out an amused huff and looked down at the floor before looking back up, all with her signature smirk on her lips, her blue eyes shining; and you felt seventeen again, the butterflies doing somersaults in your stomach and your heart beating rapidly within your chest.
"No, no I do not," she confirmed abashedly. "Would you like to remind me?"
"I'll tell you later, after my leg is fixed and Y/n," he settled and Amelia nodded her head in agreement before she took you to another bed to clean your wound. You sat on the bed, cautiously, and watched as she moved on wheeled stool, grabbing all the equipment she needed before starting to sanitise.
"Smart kid," she started, her delicate finger moving your hair to get to the cut.
"Yeah, sometimes it's annoying," you smiled and the two of you fell into silence.
"I never," Amelia began, her words getting caught in her throat, "I never said thank you, so this is me saying it now," she apologised and her throat bobbed as she swallowed.
"What for?" She sat back and stared into your eyes, full of sorrow and regret, and you felt your heart break.
"For helping me, y'know... before I left," you gave her a half-hearted smile as you recalled that night.
"It was nothing," you waved off and hung your head low.
"No," she stopped and you looked back up, "it was everything, you really helped me and I'm sorry I was such an ass." She apologised.
"I forgave you a long, long time ago, there was no way I could understand what you were going through, how hurt you were," you confessed and you felt her pause for a moment, but you couldn't see her soft eyes looking at you. The way that she had treated you had been one of her biggest regrets, you had been so kind and loving, everything that she possibly needed in those hard times, and she had shut you out.
After only a few more minutes, you were finished, and you made your way over to Isaac as you followed Amelia. Isaac sat happily on the bed, a lollypop, in hand and a bandage around his knee.
"All good?" You asked him and he nodded his head, a grin on his face as his gaze flickered from you to Amelia. Your eyebrows furrowed and you turned around to face her, to find that nothing was out of the ordinary. "What're you giggling at, mister?" You quizzed as you walked over to him. He pressed his lips together and shook his head, but still his eyes moved from you to Amelia; weird. You looked at Doctor Freedman, but he shook his head having no answers.
"He's been like this since you left, and he's only had numbing for the knee," he shrugged. You looked back down to Isaac and he was still grinning up at you.
"Have you got a secret? Is that what it is?" You questioned as you picked him up, resting on your hip, and he leaned to whisper in your ear.
"You think she's pretty," he whispered, though everyone could clearly hear him. You felt yourself blush, your cheeks warming and your eyes found Amelia's to find that her lips were adorned with her signature smirk. You could feel your heart palpitating within your chest and all you could do was chuckle at Isaac's statement before Amelia's pager went off. She quickly excused herself before walking off.
When she was a good distance away, she looked back to find you conversing with Doctor Freedman, Isaac on your hip, and a smile on your face. Maybe, in another life, you would be hers just as she would be yours and that would be her kid on your hip and you'd all be one happy, little family.

“I’ve been riding motorcycles forever,” Y/N’s friend had said.
“We won’t go on the highway,” Y/N’s friend had said.
“It’s perfectly safe,” Y/N’s friend had said.
And yet he had angered another motorcyclist on the road who had intentionally bumped into them, sending her friend (who sat in front) flying. The motorcycle skidded to the side, into a ditch, and Y/N found herself half-underneath the motorcycle. Her right leg was crushed by it while the handle had snapped and was now stabbing Y/N square in the chest.
Looking up at the rich blue sky, Y/N’s first thought was: ‘Shit’. Not only was she in an immeasurable amount of pain, but she had no clue where her friend was and the guy who had hit them had sped away. Thankfully, her phone had been in her left pocket and hadn’t fallen very far. It was still within arms reach, and Y/N managed to grab it and dial 911.
“911, what is your emergency?” The responder on the other line asked.
Y/N explained that she was involved in a motorcycle accident with a friend and told them they needed an ambulance at the road they were at. Once the responder told her not to move, Y/N insisted that she knew that, seeing as her mom — the famous Dr. Addison Montgomery — was a world-class doctor. The responder offered to stay on the line with her, but Y/N said it was alright. She had to call her mom and tell her she was coming, after-all.
“Chris?!” Y/N yelled, calling for her friend. When he didn’t answer, she cursed under her breath.
Y/N dialed her mother’s number and, after a few rings, she picked up. “Hey, kiddo. I just finished a surgery. What’s up?” Addison said.
“Hey, mom. You know how Chris took me out on his motorcycle today?” Y/N began, figuring that there was no beating around the bush.
“Yes . . .” Addison answered, trailing off and sounding a little worried.
“We got into an accident. Another motorcyclist crashed into us. Don’t worry—I already called an ambulance,” Y/N was quick to explain.
“Oh my god,” Addison said, gasping. “Are you and your friend okay?”
At Y/N’s hesitation, Addison let out a sigh.
————————————
Minutes later, Addison got off the phone and headed towards the nurse’s station, rubbing her forehead.
“Everything alright?” Mark asked as he and Derek approached. Other attendings and surgeons (Richard, Bailey, Meredith, Amelia, Lincoln, Owen, Teddy, and Jo) were nearby.
Addison planted her hands on the counter and shook her head, looking down. “Y/N was riding on a motorcycle with her friend and they got into a crash,” she said, her voice quiet.
“Is she okay?” Amelia asked, walking over to Addison and trying to comfort her.
Addison shook her head. “She said she was hurt. A lot,” she answered, trying to control her tears.
Amelia hugged Addison tightly and the rest turned away, giving her some privacy.
“Let’s meet Y/N in the ER,” Bailey advised the group, before leading them there. Amelia and Addison followed behind.
When they got to the ER, Levi and Taryn were wheeling Y/N in but Owen soon toon over. “She has a penetrating wound to the chest from the motorcycle’s handle. Her right leg was also pinned underneath the motorcycle. Stats are okay,” Levi told Owen, before joining Taryn in rolling in the gurney that carried Chris.
“He was unconscious at the crash and has an open wound to the head. Stats are good,” Taryn reported about Chris.
Knowing that Addison needed Amelia and not her ex-husband, Derek jumped to take Chris.
“Schmitt and Helm are with Shepherd. Pierce and Lincoln are with me,” Owen ordered, before pushing Y/N into the Trauma 2 room.
The rest crowded outside Y/N’s room, Amelia, Addison, and Mark pressed up against the window. “She’ll be okay,” Amelia assured Addison, rubbing the redhead’s arm.
They watched as Maggie assessed her chest, Link assessed her leg, and Webber assessed any other injuries. After a few moments, Owen poked his head out of the room. “There’s a lac on her head. Not sure if it’s just a cut or if she hit her head. Shepherd, can you . . .?” He said.
Amelia glanced at Mark. “Stay with her,” she said, and it wasn’t a question, before following Owen back inside.
Addison’s eyes fixated on her ex-sister-in-law, nearly pressing her nose to the glass. She watched as Amelia shined a light in her daughter’s eyes and instructed her to follow simple commands. When Amelia looked up and smiled at her, Addison let herself relax.
After talking to Owen, Amelia came back out. “Maggie is going with Y/N into surgery to remove the bike handle and then Link will have to do a surgery to repair the broken bones in her leg,” she reported, placing her hands on Addison’s shoulders to brace the redhead.
Addison stiffened, shaking her head. Logically, she knew that Y/N would have had to have surgery for the bike handle, but she hadn’t been thinking like a doctor since the second she heard Y/N’s voice over the phone. “Surgery . . .” Addison echoed, trailing off into a slight daze until Y/N was being wheeled out in the hallway.
“Y/N,” she said, gravitating towards her daughter and brushing the hair out of her face.
Although in pain, Y/N managed a smile as she saw her mother was worrying. “‘M okay,” she slurred slightly, from the blood loss and shock.
Addison smiled warmly, masking her fear. “I know,” she said. “I’ll be right by your side the moment you wake up.”
Y/N nodded a bit, and then Owen resumed pushing her on the gurney.
Addison watched until they passed through the doors. Amelia put an arm around her. “I’ll sit with you in the waiting room,” she said.
Amelia guided her towards the seats, with Mark following. The other doctors either prepared to scrub in or, if they could, joined Addison in the waiting room. Amelia sat next to her and Mark sat across from them.
For a while, Addison was silent, too deep in her own thoughts to talk. Amelia, Mark, and a couple others made small talk, but Addison didn’t look up from the floor until Derek joined them.
“Chris is fine, he’s asking about Y/N. Did they take her into surgery already?” Derek asked as he went to sit next to Mark, who nodded.
Addison looked up at her ex-husband and squeezed Amelia’s hand, who squeezed back. “He’s alright?” She asked, just to confirm.
Derek nodded, giving her his usual charming smile. “Y/N will do great,” he assured her.
Addison glanced towards the doors, tapping her foot. “I know,” she murmured, but didn’t sound convinced and didn’t bother to try and fool anyone. “It’s just . . . Two major surgeries. God, she must have been so scared, in so much pain and all alone.” She started tearing up just imagining that, and Amelia gave her a hug.
“Y/N handled it greatly, though, even if she was in pain. She called an ambulance, she called you. She got herself and Chris to safety,” Amelia reminded her, smiling.
“I should call Jake. He and Henry should know what happened,” Addison said.
Knowing that Addison already had enough on her plate with an injured daughter in surgery, Amelia pulled out her phone. “I got it,” she said, before dialing Jake’s phone number.
After a lengthy conversation, Amelia hung up. “Everyone is wishing Y/N well and wants updates. Jake, Henry, Sam, Naomi, Violet, Charlotte . . . you name ‘em,” she said.
Addison smiled, remembering the family she built in L.A. By now, a couple hours had passed. Doctors came and went, Amelia stayed at her side, and Derek and Mark only left if they got paged on an emergency. “Can someone get an update?” Addison requested of the group.
Mark nodded and stood up. “You got it,” he said.
He returned a few minutes later, wearing his usual bright and proud smile. “Pierce successfully removed the handle and Lincoln has already started repairing her bones,” he said.
Addison nodded, smiling and wiping away some stray tears. She shifted a bit in her seat uncomfortably. “I think I’m going go wait in her room,” she said, before standing up.
Amelia, Mark, and Derek all stood up with her. “You guys don’t need to come with me, you have surgeries and work,” Addison said.
“Excuse you, I want to wait for my niece,” Amelia said, and they both shared a smile and a laugh, before walking to the Nurse’s station.
“I second that,” Mark added, following her.
That left Addison and Derek, who turned to face each other. “I’d like to wait for her,” he said, putting his hands into his pockets.
“Are you sure?” Addison asked, not wanting it to be awkward.
Derek nodded. Together, they followed Mark and Amelia to the room that Pierce and Lincoln would be taking Y/N to. When they got there, Addison and Amelia sat on the opposite sides of the currently empty bed and Mark and Derek sat next to them, For the next few hours,  the only movements where either Mark or Derek going on coffee runs, getting snacks, or answering pages.
After what felt like eternity, they brightened up to Y/N being wheeled in. Addison watched anxiously as they transferred her to the bed and got her hooked up to the monitors. When they left, Link stayed behind.
“The surgery went very well. She’s going to need lots of recovery and physical therapy, but I know you’ve been waiting a while, so we can go over that later,” Link said.
“Thank you,” Addison said, before turning full attention to her daughter.
As Link stepped outside, Amelia followed. She wanted to thank him personally for helping out her niece and then went to get an update on Chris, who was staying for overnight observation.
It took a bit for Y/N to wake up from the general anesthesia, but Addison and Amelia were at her side the entire times. Mark and Derek came and went, Link and Maggie checked in, and the other doctors visited. Jake even flew down with Henry and get well soon wishes from the doctors back in L.A.
As terrified as Addison had been, she was just glad that her daughter was alright and was recovering. Trips to Seattle never failed to be anything but interesting, and all Addison (or anyone, really) could do was hope that nothing would top this trip in the ones they were sure to go on in the future.

There’s a post going around about how doctor’s offices should be open on Christmas Day. OP then says that they have been denied jobs because they are Jewish and they need the Sabbath off, and that our Christian-centric society is unfair (totally agree). They then go on to say that the solution is that we need more non-Christians in the healthcare industry.
Don’t get me wrong I agree with some of what the post is about, but I also think it’s objectively funny to say “we need more Jewish doctors.” Who are you, my grandmother? I don’t have the data but I would bet real money that in the US, Jews are overrepresented in the field of medicine. Like yes our society needs to be more secular but I don’t think a lack of Jewish kids in med school is the issue.

— Boa noite, Doutora Montgomery. Tudo bem se eu me juntar a você?
— Eu sei. Acredite, eu entendo.
A ruiva te observa atentamente,.
— Você me parece alguém interessante.
— Desculpe-me. Aqui não é lugar para fazermos isso. O meu corpo realmente se descontrolou e... — Ela respira fundo, tentando encontrar as palavras necessárias.

Video
Around the time that Amphibia’s finale aired, I decided to do an animatic as a way to deal with my Amphibia brainrot, but also because I wanted to make a villain song sequence.
Keith David both sings this song and voices Andrias, you do the math.
(Sadly, I lost motivation about partway through, but luckily there’s enough to post a fully drawn video. It’s just that the latter half is the thumbnails. That’s life for ya.)

reader and addison start getting on, reader helping and assisting in surgeries. reader isn’t an intern tho.
reader gets a feeling addison likes her, addison does but she is Scared™️
and then addison goes to LA :(
and reader goes to her, last ditch attempt. “why did you leave me?”
angsty.. i like it
why did you leave?
You were Addison’s fellow. You were in your final year of residency when Addison made her big entrance, and you stood idly by as you watched everything with Derek, Meredith and her go down.
As soon as your options for fellowships opened up, you made sure you were to study under the Addison Montgomery.
She was kind of rude to you at first, as she was going through the final stages of her divorce, but she did finally open up to you and let you in on surgeries. And then, the two of you were closer than ever.
You did a lot of the surgeries with her, led them too.
Addison and you ate lunch together almost everyday, because all your other friends ate lunch while you were in surgery, so Addison would offer to eat with you.
“But Callie is sitting over there. You should go sit with her,” You would shrug and take a seat in the back of the cafeteria.
“I can’t leave you alone,” Addison huffed and sat beside you. “Besides, Mark will sit with Callie.”
You smiled appreciatively, “Okay. Only if you want to.”
You’d also go to the bar with her, and sometimes even get dinner with her if your schedules aligned. The two of you even got together for Christmas and exchanged gifts. Mostly because neither of you had any blood relatives in Seattle, and found comfort in each other.
She got you a necklace, and you would play with it when you got nervous. Addison would notice and try to comfort you, but she was beginning to think it was her that did it.
“Stop,” She removed your hand from your necklace. “You’re going to make a mark on the back of your neck from tugging on that.”
You’d let out a breath, “Sorry. It’s just the nerves.”
“Oh?” Addison lifted her brows, sitting beside you on the abandoned bed in the hallway. “What’s going on today?”
“An old friend is coming down to see me,” You shrugged. “It’s not that big of a deal.”
“Sure it is,” Addison swallowed down the negative thoughts and her own anxiety. “How long did you know them?”
“It’s a she, and I knew her my whole life before I moved out here. She was actually my first kiss.”
Addison nodded, pretending to be busy with the hair tie on her wrist.
“Hey, listen,” Addison turned her head, and she thought she might have told you about her ongoing feelings, but something else entirely comes out. “I’m going to visit a friend in LA next week. Could you watch over my patients? You’ll work under another neonatal surgeon while I’m gone. It’ll only be a day or two.”
“Yeah, no problem.”
She was gone for more than two days, and she didn’t answer any of your messages while she was gone. She came back almost a week later and she was different.
Addison told you about how she met a guy down there and that she missed her best friend, Naomi.
You stood by and tried to be supportive, you smiled and pushed the jealousy down, because even though you didn’t want to, you felt the same way she did.
She was tanner than when she left, and her red hair was a lighter shade now.
“It was nice down there,” She told you. “I think you’d like it. Because you love beaches.”
Your heart throbbed at the fact that she remembered something you told her the first time she talked to you.
“Alright, I’ll see you tomorrow, Dr. L/n,” Addison threw her gloves in the trash.
She barely called you that anymore, but right then she did, and it hurt like hell. For some reason you didn’t believe you’d see her the next morning. And your hunch was right.. because you didn’t.
You didn’t even know what you were doing, honestly. You just got the urge to leave Seattle for a few days, and you took yourself to LA.
You were at a local market when you spotted her.
She looked amazing. She’d cut her hair, and it was now to her shoulders. She was still tan like she was when you last saw her, but her hair was back to her normal red color.
She looks at you, and you think she might not even recognize you at first. Because truth be told, it had been almost a year since she’d left, and she’d built a life for herself out here.
Or so you hear through Callie.
You look down at the blueberries you were messing with, suddenly trying to look busy.
“Y/n..” Addison approached you, but you didn’t look up. “What are you doing here?”
“Um..” Your voice shakes, and you’re not sure if you’re going to be able to talk. “I needed to get out of Seattle for a few days.”
“I know the feeling,” She chuckles.
The sound of her voice and laugh makes your body tingle from your head to your toes.
“I’m sure,” You say bitterly, picking up a carton of blueberries so you can hopefully leave this conversation behind.
She just follows behind you as you make your way to the vegetables, “So.. uh.. how are you? How’s— how’s Seattle?”
“I’m fine,” You shrug.
“Are you still working in the neonatal field?” You see her hoist her bag higher on her shoulder from the corner of your eyes. “Is that why you’re here?”
“No,” You grit your teeth. “I’m here because I needed a few days away from Seattle, I told you. I didn’t mean to drive here, I just put my brain on autopilot, and it brought me here. I didn’t even think about you being here until now, okay?”
Your voice is soft and it’s scaring you because you hold nothing but anger for Addison. So the fact that you’re speaking in a sweet tone..
“It was nice seeing you,” You attempt to get her out of your head again, but it doesn’t work.
“Do you wanna.. I don’t know.. meet for drinks tonight?”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” You clench your jaw, trying to keep yourself from saying something you know you’re going to regret.
“Y/n, look at me,” You hear Addison’s voice wavering like yours had only minutes ago.
You manage to pull your eyes away from the fresh produce and to her face, and it’s hard for you to look her in the eyes, but you manage.
Her hand comes up to touch you on the face, and when it does, you flinch at her soft touch. Your breath catches in your throat, and you have to swallow down the lump in your throat so you don’t start crying.
“Why did you leave?” Your voice breaks, and tears are beginning to fill in your eyes, much to your dismay.
“I needed a change of scenery—“
“No,” You all but growl, you sharply inhale and press your lips together. “Why did you leave me?”
Addison’s eyes flutter, and her own eyes fill with tears. You’ve struck her in a wound she was so desperately trying to heal.
“Y/n..” She wipes a stray tear with the pad of her thumb, her palm resting on your cheek. “I didn’t.. I didn’t leave you..”
“You did, though,” You try to turn your head, but her hold on you is soft and strong. “You left me, and I didn’t even get a goodbye.”
Next think you know, she’s pulling you into a hug, one of her hands now on the back of your head while the other snakes around your waist.
“I never meant to make you feel like that,” Her mouth is by your ear.
“It doesn’t feel that way,” You sob into her shoulder.
She pulls back, both her hands making their way to your cheeks, “I had feelings for you, Y/n. And I know it was immature, but— I— I was scared that you didn’t feel the same and I had to get out of there.”
As if your heart hadn’t broken enough times in your chest since this interaction had started, it somehow broke again.
“Addie.. I did— do feel the same. Didn’t you see?”
“I didn’t want to assume—“
You lean up and place a kiss on her lips, “Well stop assuming, and start living in the moment with me. This has been the worst experience ever. I hate the new head of neonatal, and I think she hates me too. I wish you would have just talked to me..”
“I will from now on,” Addison promises, staring into your eyes.
“What?” You smile softly, all of your pent up hate for her slowly melting away. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“You’re beautiful, am I not allowed to admire you?” Addison tilted her head.
“No, you can,” You draw your brows together in amusement. “I like it, actually. But you want something from me.”
“I want another kiss,” Addison shrugged, shyness in her tone.
You laugh, “You’re adorable.”
“Thank you,” Addison nodded. “Now come on, I have a lot of people to introduce you to.”
“There it is,” You throw your head back.

Favourite Photo Series
Part 3:
Tumblr media
📍SCI 2017 FD Practice
What I love about this picture is it’s a snapshot of a really lovely moment in time, I.. surprise surprise (probably) have a very different take on then maybe most would. There’s a lot of emotion in this one still photo but I find it it’s entirety to be even more poignant.
To help explain this I’m gonna use some gifs and talk more generally about this whole moment because it’s all important in relating back to this one moment in the photo.
So during their run through of MR, they break just before where they would start their step sequence. S throws T’s arm and lets her skate away in place of the first step in the sequence. This is quite common-in other practices, whether they are breaking at this moment or others, to do a bit of a ‘flourish’ as they finish the section they have just practiced.
Tumblr media
The camera angle then changes to the left side of the rink and they catch up to each other. Where they would usually hold hands and continue skating around, T holds out her hand thinking he is going to take it (either in dance hold or more likely their hand hold) but instead he grabs her wrist quite ‘aggressively’ - not hard or in a way that would hurt her- but.. and this is the important part for me, does it in character.
He then slides his hand round her back to her side in their little side-hug position and so gently caresses her in such a comforting and affectionate way. He drops his head and after the second one T looks to him, in a way I interpreted as her asking him, ‘hey, what’s the matter/you alright?’. He his stays dropped and he’s kinda slumped over as he pats her back (YES her back don’t make this into something it’s not) and his hand falls into hers and they continue stroking round holding hands.
Tumblr media
As they reach the back of the rink to start their short diagonal, the music is becoming louder and more dramatic, they let go of hands and Scott quite obviously starts to get himself worked up emotionally, then gradually physically to go into the next moment of chore. He mimes burying his head in his hands and silently screams along with the vocals in the music before he, again, aggressively grabs T’s wrist and kicks furiously as she drops into her lunge.
Tumblr media
This post is another shrine to Scott and his acting abilities. I’ve talked about it many times I think, and I certainly still have more to say.
I can’t say what others thought/ think of this moment- specifically the little hug moment. I assume many thoughts were it’s a very sweet moment and I’m sure there were some creeps who thought he took and opportunity to ‘feel her up’.
What my thoughts were the very first time and quite frankly still, is as they met up to hold hands again, Scott was still in his character and grabbed her as such. T wasn’t expecting it, but at the same time wasn’t phased at all. He often has ‘random moments’ that she is never phased by and knows it’s just him being so passionate and getting to *play - [*explore movement and their story] with her. What she maybe wasn’t expecting, after realising he is still somewhat in character, for him to then wrap his arm around her in a hug and caress her..
He’s kinda saying to her in that moment (physically) ‘I’m sorry I hurt you, I didn’t want to, I’m gonna hurt you again in a moment (the next bit of chore), but you’re gonna be ok, we’re gonna be ok’- apologising on behalf of his characters actions’. He’s mentally still within his character, as himself he is kinda making sure she’s ok. She looks to him as if to say, ‘what do you mean, of course I’m ok’, or as I said before, simply ‘what’s the matter?’.
It’s weird I know, I’ve re writing this so many times to try and make sense of my thoughts, but that’s what I got from this, that’s how I read it. Because he grabs her then immediately after that becomes this soft and gentle moment physically while still kinda refusing to look at her. I see it as like this split between just himself and his character. I talked about this recently and as I always stress I have no definitive confirmation of any of this other then jumping off what they themselves say about their process and the kind of people/athletes/artists they are both together and individually. It’s not necessarily method acting (it’s not, he’s said that) but I think he likes to, once he gave himself the permission to, and knowing T encouraged it, exist in and explore those characters on a deeper level- and not just strictly confined to doing chore, and not strictly together on the same level- they may be deeper in it then the other at times like this for example. The way I read it is that T just seems more relaxed and quietly strokes round to the next section, where as S, in one of his random moments, interacts with her more so in the physicality of his character, but because it’s him and it’s them, at the same time exists this beautiful moment of comfort and, kind of apology.. I don’t quite think it’s that , I just can’t find the right word for it. That little pat just had this feeling of.. it’s like they just had a whole conversation in those 3 seconds, silently, without words and it ends with this pat of ‘alright, that’s my girl’ coz he knows she’s ok, as they continue on just like normal, completely aware of everything and their understanding of where each other is- mentally, physically, what they are thinking about.
I hope this doesn’t sound like an over reaction or anything. OF course she’s ok, OF COURSE he isn’t hurting her. It’s just what this moment on such a subtle level screams to me, I immediately saw it and thought how beautiful it was that they were having one of these moments, that he was checking in with her but they were still staying so quiet and within their story, and his physically to her was maybe a little unexpected in that moment because she doesn’t need him to “apologise” for anything, but it was just so moving thinking that’s maybe what it was. Whatever prompted that little moment, then get ready for the next section and- specifically S, what I feel supports this whole rant is the way he gets himself worked up emotionally again- that gradual transition into then somewhat out of, then fully back into character again. I would give anything to be able to talk to them and get them to explain their process. It’s more fascinating then anything else and because of their trust and connection and history it’s amplified to such an intimate level of understanding.
It’s not showy, it’s not performative, it’s for them and their process in a deeply honest way of understanding their characters and their story. It’s not copy paste the same expressions from another program, it’s all so essential to the story they are telling in the moment.
This still picture seems like just another one of their supportive moment, but the moving picture behind it I think tells so much more.
When T posted this picture she had the caption ‘I’ve got your back’ on it. She loves her tongue-in-cheek captions and quite literally he was holding her round her back. But pairing this with what was happening either side of this picture, it has double meaning in that she has his back- she encourages him to feel comfortable in exploring his characters. I don’t say that to make S seem weaker than T in this respect, I only say it because it’s exactly what S said and that it gives him so much strength to know what she loves and wants from him. I’m sure he did the same for her at a time or twenty- what ever she needed encouragement with he gave it to her, he was there for her unquestionably.
So the result of all that is it creates a moment of visually, he has her back, but in so many other invisible way she has his. They have each other’s backs. That’s what makes this image so beautiful.
(I hope I’ve said enough times throughout this that this is purely my interpretation of the moment and without being there or hearing them I don’t know anything for sure and this is based off what evidence of that they have said previously and do both in this moment and many others and there’s a common thread of how I interpret their artistry and interactions in this respect. It is the very nature of what they do to interpret it in an artistic way removed from any larger presumptions. An inconsequential moment where it could’ve had any number of meanings for them or simply none at all).

I feel like Avada Kedavra in Harry Potter would be much cooler if it was slightly blockable. Like having it be so OP heavily ruins dueling and negates truly powerful wizards b/c they can be easily killed (excl Harry and his mothers love, and who is the only guy to have this kind of love to block a killing curse and no one else has experienced this in the entirety of time ??)
I think it would be way cooler if like the spell needed direct skin contact. Then you’d have more epic snipe shots and make Wizards wearing cloaks more practical and logical - long drapery to hide a lot of your body. Plus the death eaters also wearing masks to protect themselves from the curses as they shoot them off literally everyday.
Plus when it finally connects / is used, it would be way more shocking that it actually works since every time the curse is used it’s a guaranteed kill
Esp with how easy and widespread it is used - why even use any other spell if it’s supposedly unblockable and 100% success rate
It just seems like lazy writing to me
But JKR couldn’t nerf time turners so she just destroyed them all but she didn’t do nothing about AK ??? Idk it would’ve been more entertaining on screen for movies and smth to read
Physical dodging would’ve Introduced a new element to dueling b/c that seems neglected for wizards (I don’t think it’s too demanding for Quidditch except for upper body strength and wizards Apparate a lot / summon things to them so I’m surprised a lot of them are super fit)
Imagine Wizard parkour!! Or other fun stuff with flying and gravity or YKNOW ?? OTHER SPORTS
Anyways long rant TL;DR Avada Kedavra should be reworked :(

One last time
amelia shepherd masterlist | main masterlist
Tumblr media
Amelia Shepherd x Female Reader 1,105 words
References to drugs and addiction
Amelia's leaving and you beg her to let you help her one last time.
Part 2
Your throat feels sore and your voice scratchy from the constant screaming, tears streaming down your face as you struggle to form words to counter Amelia's shouts. You can feel the hostility radiating off of her from the other side of the room, and you're tired. You wince as she slams and bangs the draws and the doors and the cupboards, too defeated to do anything about it; it was dark now and your mind drifted off to your poor neighbours, hours and hours of endless screaming and fighting.
Your heart panged in your chest as you watched the girl you fell in love with look at you with rage, wild blue eyes not so bright anymore. You hadn't seen her in a few weeks and now she was back; rummaging for cash and obviously using again. You had caught her and now she was angry and you were begging, begging for her not to leave again, but she wouldn't listen. She didn't want your help, she didn't need your pitiful looks, and she most definitely did not want to be saved.
The last draw rattled shut and the two of you fell in a silence. Her jaw was clenched and her chest heaved with her angry breathing and your throat stung as you swallowed your fight. You let out a deep breath and shut your eyes, soothing them from the bright kitchen light. She was going to leave with or without a fight, and you were too tired. Your eyes opened up to see her watching intently for your next move.
"Amelia," you began and you saw her shake her head and move away, already beginning to defend herself. "No, no, just listen to me!" You begged with your sore voice. "I just- please, have a shower or a bath and grab some clean clothes before you leave," you sighed and rested your head against the door frame.
You heard her scoff and you shook your head, "Let me help, just one last time, and I won't bother you ever again," you sighed, "I promise." You watched her eyes dart back and forth with your hazy vision before she stormed passed you and into the bathroom with a slam. You slid down the wall and listened for the tap to start running before letting your tears fall freely.
It had been ten minutes since the tap had stopped running and you had long since calmed down, but you picked at your lip nervously; you couldn't hear anything from the bathroom. No clanging, no splash of water, nothing. Carefully, you stood from your tiled kitchen floor and tiptoed your way to the bathroom door. You listened intently for any noise before knocking your knuckles against the door lightly.
"Amelia?" You called out earning you no reply and you felt your heart pitter against your ribs. "Amelia, I'm coming in," you warned her before pushing open the door. Warm steam blew in your face and your eyes searched for her through the misty air. You found her standing idly, opposite the full bath, staring blankly  and you quickly moved to open the window. You moved to stand opposite her and her blue eyes moved to stare at your face, wide with furrowed brows and your heart twinged with pain. She didn't deserve this; she had already gone through too much to deserve this.
"Would you like some help?" You asked as you searched her eyes. "You can just move your head, yes or no?" She didn't move and you nodded your head before checking the temperature of the water. You dried your hand on a rag as you walked back to her.
"I'm going to help you now, okay?" You told her and lifted the bottom of her shirt up her torso and she lifted her arms up and the shirt came up over her head before pooling on the floor. Your eyes searched hers again as you unbuttoned her jeans and you saw her throat bob as she nodded her head, so lightly you could have missed it. You unzipped them and crouched before shimmying them down her legs and helping her step out of them. You stood back up and quickly unclipped her bra and dropped it to the floor. You guided her to the bath and held her hand as she stepped into it, one leg after the other, before she sat down in the hot water.
You pushed up your sleeves and dunked a rag into the water before running it over her skin: her arms, her back, her neck, her face. You carefully washed her face, smoothing the cloth over her features, her lashes resting against her cheek and you watched her, until her dark lashes lifted to reveal the brilliant blue of her eyes and you moved away to pump soap into your hands. You held a hand out to her and lifted her to stand. You poured some of the soap from your hand into her own before rubbing it into her back, sudsing her skin with foamy bubbles, and then sat her back down and washed her skin clean.
You grabbed a jug from the side and filled it with the bath water and lightly pushed her head back slightly before resting your hand on her forehead before running the water through her dark hair. You lathered your hand with shampoo and massaged it into her scalp and poured water through her hair until it ran clean and then did the same with conditioner. Without your knowledge, silent tears streamed down Amelia's face as you delicately combed through her knotty hair with a brush.
You poured water over her hair once again, protecting her face with your hand on her forehead, and then left to grab a towel. Amelia hugged her knees to her chest as she watched the door and shivered as she felt a gust of wind come through the open window, the water was only lukewarm by now and she was starting to feel the cold prickle of the late night air. When you came back, you wrung her washed hair and helped her out of the tub before wrapping her with the warm, fluffy towel.
"There's clean clothes on our- my bed and you know where the hairdryer is, if you need it," you mumbled and nodded your head before leaving to tidy the kitchen from your screaming match.
After a few minutes, you heard the steady whir of the hairdryer turn on and then off before you watched Amelia leave through the front door. Most likely to never be seen by you again.
