santa is a god-level threat.
Fandom: One-Punch Man
Genre: Comedy, Christmas / promptfic
Summary: Some are born with Christmas spirit, some achieve Christmas spirit, and some have Christmas Spirit thrust upon them. Amai Mask falls into the latter category.
For Wanpanmas 2023. Prompt: Starry Night
“You’ve reached the Santa Hero Hotline. With whom do I have the pleasure of speaking?” When Genos answered the phone with his usual overbearing exuberance, Amai Mask couldn’t help but roll his eyes. “In regards to your question about toy production,” Genos continued, “I think you will find the answer lies in both cutting-edge nanotechnology and an abundance of Christmas magic. Allow me to expound…” Every day, the Hero Association receives hundreds of calls from children concerned about the safety and wellbeing of themselves—but on Christmas Eve, however, the Hero Association receives thousands of phone calls from children concerned about the safety and well-being of Santa Claus. To deal with this sudden influx of phone calls, HA executives had rolled out a special holiday initiative: “Santa's Annual Navigation Tracking and Heroic Elf Response Operation” (also known as the “Santa Hero Hotline,” for short).
....Amai Mask hated everything about it.

i need to get this out of my head before i continue clone^2 but danny being the first batkid. Like, standard procedure stuff: his parents and sister die, danny ends up with Vlad Masters. He drags him along to stereotypical galas and stuff; Danny is not having a good time.
He ends up going to one of the Wayne Galas being hosted ever since elusive Bruce Wayne has returned to Gotham. Vlad is crowing about having this opportunity as he's been wanting to sink his claws into the company for a long while now. Danny is too busy grieving to care what he wants.
And like most Galas, once Vlad is done showing him off to the other socialites and the like, he disappears. Off to a dark corner, or to one of the many balconies; doesn't matter. There he runs into said star of the show, Bruce who is still young, has been Batman for at least a year at this point, but still getting used to all these damn people and socializing. He's stepped off to hide for a few minutes before stepping back into the shark tank.
And he runs into a kid with circles under his eyes and a dull gleam in them. Familiar, like looking into a mirror.
Danny tries to excuse himself, he hasn't stopped crying since his parents died and it's been months. He rubs his eyes and stands up, and stumbles over a half-hearted apology to Mister Wayne. Some of Vlad's etiquette lessons kicking in.
Bruce is awkward, but he softens. "That's alright, lad," he says, pulling up some of that Brucie Wayne confidence, "I was just coming out here to get some fresh air."
There's a little pressing; Bruce asks who he's here with, Danny says, voice quiet and grief-stricken, that he's with his godfather Vlad Masters. Bruce asks him if he knows where he is, and Danny tells him he does. Bruce offers to leave, Danny tells him to do whatever he wants.
It ends with Bruce staying, standing off to the side with Danny in silence. Neither of them say a word, and Danny eventually leaves first in that same silence.
Bruce looks into Vlad Masters after everything is over, his interest piqued. He finds news about him taking in Danny Fenton: he looks into Danny Fenton. He finds news articles about his parents' deaths, their occupations, everything he can get his hands on.
At the next gala, he sees Danny again. And he looks the same as ever: quiet like a ghost, just as pale, and full of grief. Bruce sits in silence with him again for nearly ten minutes before he strikes a conversation.
"Do you like to do anything?"
Nothing. Just silence.
Bruce isn't quite sure what to do: comfort is not his forte, and Danny doesn't know him. He's smart enough to know that. So he starts talking about other things; anything he can think of that Brucie Wayne might say, that also wasn't inappropriate for a kid to hear.
Danny says nothing the entire time, and is again the first to leave.
Bruce watches from a distance as he intercts with Vlad Masters; how Vlad Masters interacts with him. He doesn't like what he sees: Vlad Masters keeps a hand on Danny's shoulder like one would hold onto the collar of a dog. He parades him around like a trophy he won.
And there are moments, when someone gets too close or when someone tries to shake Danny's hand, of deep possessiveness that flints over Vlad Masters' eyes. Like a dragon guarding a horde.
He plays the act of doting godfather well: but Bruce knows a liar when he sees one. Like recognizes like.
Danny is dull-eyed and blank faced the entire time; he looks miserable.
So Bruce tries to host more parties; if only so that he can talk to Danny alone. Vlad seems all too happy to attend, toting Danny along like a ribbon, and on the dot every hour, Danny slips away to somewhere to hide. Bruce appears twenty minutes later.
"I was looking into your godfather's company," he says one night, trying to think of more things to say. Some nights all they do is sit in silence. "Some of my shareholders were thinking of partnering up--"
"Don't."
He stops. Danny hardly says a word to him, he doesn't even look at him -- he's sitting on the ground, his head in his knees. Like he's trying to hide from the world. But he's looking, blue eyes piercing up at Bruce.
Bruce tilts his head, practiced puppy-like. "Pardon?"
"Don't." Danny says, strongly. "Don't make any deals with Vlad."
It's the most words Danny's spoken to him, and there's a look in his eyes like a candle finding its spark. Something hard. Bruce presses further, "And why is that?"
The spark flutters, and flushes out. Danny blinks like he's coming out of a trance, and slumps back into himself. "Just don't."
Bruce stares at him, thoughtful, before looking away. "Alright. I won't."
And they fall back into silence.
Danny, when he leaves, turns to look at Bruce, "I mean it." He says; soft like he's telling a secret, "Don't make any deals with him. Don't be alone with him. Don't work with him."
He's scampered away before Bruce can question him further.
(He never planned on working with Vlad Masters and his company; he's done his research. He's seen the misfortune. But nothing ever leads back to him. There's no evidence of anything. But Danny knows something.)
At their next meeting, Danny starts the conversation. It's new, and it's welcomed. He says, cutting through their five minute quiet, that he likes stars. And he doesn't like that he can't see them in Gotham.
Bruce hums in interest, and Danny continues talking. It's as if floodgates had been opened, and as Bruce takes a sip of his wine, it tastes like victory.
("Tucker told me once--") ("Tucker?") ("Oh-- uh, one of my best friends. He's a tech geek. We haven't talked in a while.")
(Danny shut down in his grief -- his friends are worried, but can't reach him. When he goes back to the manor with Vlad, he fishes out his phone and sends them a message.)
(They are ecstatic to hear from him.)
It all culminates until one day, when Danny is leaving to go back inside, that Bruce speaks up. "You know," He says, leaning against the railing. "The manor has many rooms; plenty of space for a guest."
The implication there, hidden between the lines. And Danny is smart, he looks at Bruce with a sharp glean in his eyes, and he nods. "Good to know."
The next time they see each other, Danny has something in his hands. "Can you hold onto something for me?" He asks.
When Bruce agrees, Danny places a pearl into his palm. or, at least, it's something that looks like a pearl. Because it's cold to the touch; sinking into Bruce's white silk gloves with ease and shimmering like an opal. It moves a little as it settles into his hand, and the moves like its full of liquid.
Bruce has never seen anything like it before, but he does know this; it's not human. "What is it?" He asks, and Danny looks uncomfortable.
"I can't tell you that." He says, shifting on his foot like he's scared of someone seeing it. "But please be careful with it. Treat it like it's extremely fragile."
When Bruce gets home, he puts it in an empty ring box and hides the box in the cave. He tries researching into what it is. he can't find anything concrete.
Everything comes to a head one day when Danny appears at the manor's doorstep one evening, soaking wet in the rain, and bleeding from the side.

I just found your blog and I LOVE your writing! Can I request a Hero that gets kidnapped by a yandere Villain???
Teeheee a classic :3 thank you!!!!
Prompt #22
Hero had to try their hardest not to cry as they were the one who had to pay for dinner. Taking the card back from the waiter and picking up their boxed-up leftovers they stood, tucking their chair back beneath the table. Trying to keep their eyes off the chair opposite them, the one that Superhero hadn't even bothered to push in.
Should they push it back in? If they didn't, the restaurant employees would have to.
Sighing, they walked over and pushed Superhero's empty seat back beneath the table.
Hero managed to keep in their tears as they walked through the restaurant, but once they reached the chilly night air, they couldn't cram their sobs down any longer. They let their tears run down their face to drip into their scarf as they pulled out their phone to arrange for someone to come pick them up.
Hero and Superhero had only been dating for a few months, but breakups always hurt. Especially ones that had come out of nowhere. Superhero had been gentle with them, saying they could still be friends and they would be happy to see them at work on Monday- but they'd still left as soon as they were done, leaving Hero halfway through their spaghetti and to pay for both of their meals.
The crime-stopper hadn't had the appetite to finish their dinner, and had only waited until they were sure Superhero was gone before boxing it up and leaving.
Out here in the cold, alone, Hero felt oddly weightless. Detached. Drifting into space.
"Alone on a Friday night? God, you're pathetic."
Hero jumped, looking up. "W-what?"
Someone slipped from the shadows next to the building, cast by the bright streetlights from above. It took Hero a moment to recognize them, but once they did, they were quickly wiping away their tears and hoping the newcomer hadn't noticed. "Villain! What are you doing here?"
The villain grinned, showing startlingly white teeth that almost seemed to glow in the dark night. Their smile looked stretched, forced. "Got stood up."
"Oh," Hero sighed. "Mine at least actually showed up."
"And yet you're alone?"
"And yet I'm alone." They looked back down at their phone. "Superhero was my ride, too."
A hand on their arm, Hero jumped. They hadn't heard Villain get that close.
The criminal's voice was quiet, dangerously smooth. "I've got a car, I can take you home."
Hero offered them a hesitant smile. "I-I'll be alright."
"Oh, come on, Hero! We're both off duty, and you know me. You don't even have to give me your exact address if you don't want to, I'll drop you wherever you need." They pressed closer, breath pluming in the cold night and their voice a purr. "You should really get out of this cold."
Hero sighed. They were miserable, they didn't want to think, to have to take care of themself. They just wanted to get home as soon as possible so they could cry. "Alright."
They let Villain lead them over to their shiny dark car, parked beneath one of the street lamps. Moths and mosquitoes whizzed in front of the light, casting strange moving shadows down on the road. They sat in the passenger's seat, and Villain offered them the GPS as soon as they were settled. "Put your address in there," they prompted.
Hero chose a street a few blocks from theirs, not wanting to let their enemy know exactly where they lived. Villain accepted the GPS back without a word, turning the car on and pulling smoothly out of the parking lot.
"So," Villain started as they turned onto the main highway that ran throughout the city. "How's your week been?"
"Fine," Hero sighed, leaning against the window. "Until today."
"What happened?" The criminal glanced at them. "If you're alright with saying."
Hero gave a brief overview of their relationship with Superhero and of their date tonight, and Villain frowned sympathetically. "I'm sorry. They don't know what they're losing."
Hero smiled faintly, wiping at their freshly wet eyes. "Thanks. What about you?"
"There's tissues in the glove compartment if you need any. Mine at least was a first date, this would've been my first time meeting them in person." Villain shrugged, then cast a sly glance at them. "What are the odds we both ended up ditched by our dates on the same night at the same place?"
Hero had already blown their nose, they were using the tissue to wipe their eyes again when they hesitated. What were the odds of that? "You weren't following me, were you?" It was only half a joke.
"Hm? Oh, no. I've got too many things to do to be following little heroes around." Their tone was teasing. "Don't flatter yourself."
Nerves slightly quelled, Hero leaned back in their seat. "Well, at least I can have the leftovers for lunch tomorrow or something."
Street lamps whizzed by overhead, casting beams of light in the car that sped by quickly. The scenery outside was a blur to Hero, they were too lost in their surprise and sadness to register much of it. Villain seemed to know where they were going though, so they didn't bother themself with it. The criminal hadn't replied to their point, allowing a lull in the conversation to give Hero a moment to zone out. Their earlier odd weightlessness having time to return.
It took them a moment to come back to themself. "Oh, thanks for the ride."
"Of course," Villain smiled, eyes still on the dark road. "It'd be against my morals not to help you out."
It was true, despite their ruthless reputation, Villain had always been quite nice to the hero. Though the most they'd ever interacted before this was once when Hero had been on an assignment to destroy a weapon Villain had made, the criminal had seemed quite understanding about the destruction and had even slipped Hero some bandages for the cut they'd accidentally given them. It was part of why Hero had accepted help from their nemesis, this amount of generosity wasn't unusual from them. They were oddly trustworthy in that regard.
That being said, the rumors circulating about Villain went entirely against that. According to the whispers, they were a terribly malicious, cruel, and downright hurtful. They mistreated their henchmen. They'd killed their last assigned hero. They didn't care about the civilian lives their schemes cost, in fact, they went out of their way to cause them.
But surely, seeing Villain now, those had to be false. Or possibly exaggerations, spread by Villain themself to keep other villain's with messing with them. That wasn't unheard of, in fact, Hero could think of several past villains who had done the same thing.
"So, what will you do without Superhero?" Villain picked up the conversation. "Is it too soon to ask if you will want to start dating again?"
"Why, you asking me out?" Hero joked. Villain's kindness warmed their sadness, already making them feel a little better. "No, not really. I don't want to be single, but I don't want to go through the whole process of meeting someone new."
"I hear that," Villain sighed. "You could always try sparking something with someone you already know."
Hero shook their head. "I feel like all my friends are just that. Friends. And there's not many people outside of that I know very well."
"What about enemies?" Villain teased.
The crime-stopper laughed, going along with the joke. "Oh sure, let me just call up the list of villains I'm supposed to bring in by next week."
"Am I on that list?"
Knowing it was a joke Hero laughed again, shaking their head and sitting back in their chair. Villain really did know how to cheer them up, they were glad they'd gone with them tonight. "Don't know, I'll have to look through it."
"Write mine at the bottom if I'm not there, why don't you?"
Hero snorted, their laughter subsiding as they leaned against the window. "Yeah, well, it's probably too soon anyway. I liked Superhero, I don't know if I can get used to someone else so soon."
"Hm." Villain looked back at the road, letting out a breath.
Hero sat up, tapping the window. "Oh, hey, I think you missed the turn, my place is that way?" Maybe they were taking a different route?
"We're not going back to your place."
"W-what?" Hero blinked.
Villain's gaze was hard set as they glared out the windshield, their expression suddenly much more serious than Hero had seen it all night. "We're not going back to your place." They repeated.
Hero was beginning to panic, their earlier contentedness slipping away like the rushing objects outside. "W-why?"
"Because if no one out there can treat you right, then they don't get to have you."

December Prompts - Day 11 (stars)
Patrick and Johnny are both beaming as the loves of their lives continue their ridiculous tradition despite the holiday party consisting only of the Brewer and Rose families, including Stevie, of course.
It’s a small, intimate gathering for the first Christmas at David and Patrick’s new home, but Moira insists that they don’t allow tradition to be left behind, so David digs out the hair straightener and warms up his vocal chords and joins his mother for a very exclusive performance of the number.
Patrick is pretty sure Stevie is already a full bottle of wine in and is giggling with his mother not so quietly despite the looks Moira is giving them, desperate for the attention of two fifths of her audience. Judging by the volume of her laughter and the redness in her cheeks, Marcy isn’t far behind.
Johnny leans over and whispers to Patrick, “How did we get so lucky?”
“I don’t know, Mr. Rose, we reached for the stars and they somehow agreed to marry us.”
“They certainly are stars, aren’t they?”
As Moira and David continue singing and dancing, clearly enjoying the spotlight, even if that is only the focused attention of their designated grapes and the occasional acknowledgement from Stevie, Marcy, and Clint, Patrick agrees; they shine brighter than any other star he’s had the pleasure of being in the presence of.

My Starry Sky - Astarion x F!Reader
Tumblr media
Reader and Astarion have their first real argument and have to go through the aftermath.
“Come to bed early, spend some time with me?” Astarion whispered in your ear, crimson eyes still a bit watery.
There wasn’t any other answer to give. “Of course love,” you took his hand and gave it a soft squeeze, desperate to reassure him after what had happened earlier.
Going into this, you knew how he could be, how he lashed out sometimes, and why. That hadn’t made the first time he directed it at you after your mutual confession any easier. Maybe you had thought finally sharing your feelings would change that part of him, a selfish wish. “Damn it, are you just going to ignore me all day!” He snapped at you on the road, drawing questioning looks from your other companions.
“What?” You’d turned back to him, confusion knitting your brows together.
“You heard me.” Around you, you could sense everyone stepping away, wisely giving the two of you space, despite the fact that you were in a desolate, cursed place. The locale was probably not helping the tension.
“I’m not ignoring you!” The first mistake you made in that conversation, a sharp tone, fire returned.
“So I’m just imagining that you’ve hardly said two words to me for hours but have been more than happy to prattle on with everyone else.” He doubled down, and you could tell he wasn’t going to hear you. “Or you're lying.”
The accusation stung, did he think so little of you? Maybe this was all a mistake. And just like that, all the worries, the struggles, and this blasted place boiled over, and you were the one who lashed out. “This isn’t going to work, we’re not going to work, if you’re going to act like this!” The second mistake.
Eyes going wide, his posture changed in an instant. It was like he tried to make himself smaller, to get away from the pain of your words. “Please no, I’m sorry.” His voice shook and if he had any need of breathing he would have been gasping. “Gods, I’ve already ruined it.” Tears had started to spill down his cheeks.
With horror, you realized what you’d done. You’d threatened him into compliance, even if you had done so out of hurt. Were you no better than Cazador? In a rush, you threw your arms around him pulling him close, frantic to relieve the hurt you’d caused. “No, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.” After a second of hesitation, you felt his arms encircle you as he sniffled into your hair. "That was wrong of me."
It took a few moments of soft whispers and soothing until he would let you go. "Let's just forget this," you prompted and he readily agreed.
The hurtful words and accusations stuck with you though and you excused yourself as soon as dinner was over. Taking you by the hand, Astarion leads you to his tent, where you'd been sleeping most nights lately. With a soft gasp, you note small enchanted motes of light, dancing at the top of the tent. "Gale's work," you ask, staring at them with enchantment.
"I don't want to know what he's going to ask me in return," he chuckles but it’s strained and struggling.
“At least he’s not looking for magic to eat anymore.” With a quick brush of your lips against his cheek, you lower yourself down to the waiting nest of blankets the two of you spend your nights wrapped around each other in. Your hand still in his pulls him along with you.
An open bottle of wine and two glasses were waiting and you readily take one after he pours it. The two of you sit close enough that shoulders and thighs touch, a small comfort after the harshness of the day, and you lean your head on his shoulder. “I love you, you know that right?” Desperately, you want him to know it, even with all the complications, you sincerely love him.
“I know,” he finishes the glass of wine, and you note that he seems off still. “I love you too,” he pours another and drinks deeply. It was a rough day all around though, and you don’t want to push it.
Moments later you’re surprised as a pale, slender hand reaches down to tilt your chin up off his shoulder and kiss you. The taste of the wine lingers on his lips and you drink in the intimacy of it on your tongue. Your glass is taken from your grasp as the kiss deepens, lips parting invitingly to him. Hands wrap around your waist and your stomach flutters, you’ve missed being touched like this by him. A trail of soft bites is traced from your lips down your neck as his hands work their way under your shirt caressing the sensitive skin of your breasts. Reaching up, you grip his shoulders, nails digging into his skin as a soft moan escapes you. “My sweet girl,” he murmurs against your throat and your blood runs cold.
That isn’t him, he sounds a thousand miles away, and so empty. “I thought you weren’t ready for this.”
A thumb brushes over a nipple and his teeth dig into your flesh just hard enough to thrill. You swallow the cry you almost make, not wanting to encourage this. “I’ve been thinking it’s time to move on, let go of the past,” his voice tremors and you can tell he’s lying even as he tries to kiss you again.
“Astarion, stop,” gently you push him away and see the panic in his face. “Why are you doing this?”
He looks anywhere but right at you, eyes hazy and unfocused “I don’t know what you mean.”
“Astarion…”
He sighs heavily, breaking down at last. “Well, I thought after today, perhaps you were tiring of me, and that I should do something to win you back. And I can’t seem to get this right either.”
Pain slices through your chest and you feel as though your heart is being torn in two. Carefully, you put your hands on his cheeks. “Look at me,” it’s not a command, but a plea, and he finally brings his eyes to yours. “I love you, and I’m not going to tire of you. Understand?” Wordlessly he nods. “But you are never to try to buy me again with your body, you are worth so much more than that.” A loving kiss on his forehead punctuates your words and you hear him sniffling again.
“I can try, it is so hard to leave behind.” Arms open, you beckon him to you, and you both collapse into the waiting blankets. “It feels like the only thing I know, the only thing I’m good for. And I just want to keep you but I don’t know how else to do it sometimes.”
“Just love me, that’s all I need.” You yearn for nothing but to cover him in soft kisses and hold him forever, so he can know how loved he is, how cherished. “My Starry Sky.”
With his face buried in your neck, he murmurs softly, sounding like his true self again, “my Sunlight.”

Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) - Shouldn't Have Happened
Requested: yes
Prompts: 4) "You deserve better." 15) "You're a wonderful person and don't you ever forget that." 28) "Have you been drinking?"
Warnings: drunk max
Tumblr media
The streets of Monaco were quiet other than the distant echoes of laughing and cars fading into the night. Y/n Leclerc walked through the cobbled alleys, her steps echoing in the silence. She had chosen to bot drink too much tonight, watching over her friends who had indulged a bit too much in the celebration. As she rounded a corner, she stumbled upon an unexpected sight—a figure sprawled in a flower bed. She scoffed before she continued walking and only to see a familiar face. Max Verstappen. Concerned, Y/n approached him, gently shaking his shoulder. "Hey, are you okay?"
Max stirred, groaning slightly. "I'm fine... just needed a moment with the flowers." He slurred, sounding very....drunk.
"A flower bed in Monaco." Y/n muttered somewhat amused. "Are you hurt?" Max sat up slowly, rubbing his temple. "Just my pride, I think." Y/n noticed the faint scent of alcohol clinging to him. "And you've been drinking?" Max laughed, his gaze shifting from the starry sky to Y/n Leclerc in a red dress, holding her heels as though they were a handbag. "Yeah, too much, I guess." He replied, sitting up, denying Y/n to help him. "Why?" Y/n asked, curiosity and concern mingling in her voice. Max hesitated before confessing. "My girlfriend um- she cheated on me. My friends convinced me to go out looking for a rebound, but I ended up feeling like shit and getting sad again."
"I'm not trying to be insincere but it was very obvious she would do this." Max looked at her, his eyes turning into one of anger. "Think About it Max. She never went to your races and whenever she did, she either paraded herself around or was glued to her phone. It was so obvious she was using you and cheating." Max groaned, nearly falling back into the flower bed. "Okay, just-" Y/n hoisted Max'sarm over her shoulder and began walking up the steep hill. "Jesus, I thought you guys liked to stay light." Y/n mumbled. "Did you just call me fat?" Max blabbered. "Oh shut up. Charles is the same." Max didn't speak. He couldn't and he didn't want to. "You deserve better." Y/n said firmly, her eyes reflecting sincerity. Max down, meeting her gaze. "Do I, though?"
"You do." Y/n insisted. "You're a wonderful person, and don't you ever forget that." As she got to the top of the hill, Max reached into his pocket and pulled out a swab for the apartment complex front door. As Max struggled to get the swab to work, Y/n took it and opened it for him. "I'll come up with you just just you can open your actual door." She mumbled. "Oh, Y/n. I didn't know you cared." He teased before Y/n slapped his chest. "Shut up! Get inside!" She began giggling upon seeing Max laughing hysterically at his own joke. "I'm serious! Come on before Charles calls me to see where I am!"
Finally, Y/n opened the front door, letting Max fall in and stumble to the kitchen. Y/n looked around in awe. This looked nothing like her brothers apartment. As a matter of fact, it could possibly be much nicer. "Drink?" She turned to see Max opening up a huge liquor cabinet. "I think I should get going." Max shrugged. "If you have to. I mean, I have two glasses here and one is going to be very lonely without the other." He sang, pouring both glasses. Y/n eyed them for a moment before she gave in. "Okay, just one."
-----------------
"When did you and your girlfriend break up?" Y/n asked as Max poured another glass. "In like-" Max thought for a moment. "September? I just couldn't let loose and drink like I can now so I have been bottling everything up and now I'm here drinking with the littlest of the Leclerc's." Y/n and Max toasted before she downed the drink yet again. "You seem to need that vodka. Need something stronger?" She shook her head. "No, but maybe a red wine?" Max turned, grabbed a brand new bottle and placed it in front of Y/n. "I have and its my most expensive one." Y/n looked between Max and the bottle. "Well don't give me the expensive one." Max shook his head, opening the bottle. "No, no. Drink the good wine on a bad day because on a good day, all wine tastes good." Y/n smiled. "My mother always says that."
She poured herself a glass before taking a sip. "So, why are you so down?" Max asked. "University. Its getting to be too much and I'm honestly thinking of dropping out and becoming a hairdresser like Mama." Max sighed. "Well, I think you would be great in whatever you want to do. I actually think you'd be a really good therapist." Y/n smiled. "I'm in university to be a sport psychologist actually." Max nodded. "Very good. I'll come to you about all my problems from now on." Max chuckled. "Maybe that would stop me from thinking of looking for a rebound."
They sat in silence for a moment, simply looking between eachothers eyes and lips. "You're not the rebound type, Max. That's not who you are as a person." She whispered, her words resonating in the night air. "How do you know what kind of a person I am?" Max mumbled, sipping his whiskey. "Charles talks about you sometimes. And you forget I bumped into you I a club on my birthday last year." Max looked at her yet again. He felt safe with her. He didn't know if it was the alcohol or her aura but he felt safe. "And you figured me out that quick?" Y/n shook her head. "No, but I'd like to figure you out. You seem lovely."
As the night wore on, Max's shoulders seemed lighter, his smile more genuine. And as they walked back to Y/n's apartment, the air crackled with an unspoken tension. "Have you had a rebound? Have you had anyone since her?" Y/n asked as Max drank his wine and Y/n looked up at him intently. Max hesitated, his gaze flickering uncertainly. "No. Too busy, but Im hoping now with the off-season, I could get a chance to explore new possibilities and people." He replied. "New people. Does this mean men are included?" Max shook his head, nearly spitting out his drink. "No, Jesus. No. I like women. I'm a big fan of the breasts." As Y/n and Maxs laughing quietened down, they could feel the electricity in the air, their hearts pounding in their chests. They leaned in closer to one another, slowly. "Are you going to just stare at me or-" And then, in a moment of boldness, Max leaned in and kissed her.
Y/n's heart fluttered, her head spinning with a whirlwind of emotions. Max deepened the kiss as Y/n's hands flew up to the back of his head, pulling him as close as he could possibly go. Their pants and puffs filled the room, knocking over glasses as Max hoisted Y/n up onto the countertop. It was then Y/n pushed him away. "Wait. No. This is so, so wrong on so many levels." Y/n whispered to herself. "What do you mean?" Max asked. "I mean, I am not going to be your rebound because its just so fucking wrong. I haven't Eve done that kind of stuff before. Jesus!" Y/n hopped down off the counter, muttering to herself in French as Max grabbed her back for her. "Who said you were my rebound?" Max asked.
"Max! Regardless, I don't think I could do this. You race my brother, you just got cheated on and you've told me multiple times you just want a rebound. Well, I'm sorry, but that's not what I'm looking for." As she turned to head for the door, Max pulled her back. "Listen, I don't want you as a rebound. I'm not doing this because I'm drunk, I'm doing this because I genuinely like you and I'd like to get to know you better." Y/n's chest rose and fell quickly as she took deep breathes to try and control herself. "Then take me out for food or something first at least." She replied. "Okay." Max took out his phone and handed it to Y/n. She looked up it skeptically. "Put your number in. I'll text you in the morning and we can go for breakfast. Better yet, I'll bring you for lunch on my yacht." She scoffed. "Yachts don't impress me, Max."
"Maybe not, but it would give me a chance to actually get to know you." She typed her number in it and added a heart for good measure. "How's that?" She asked. Max smiled. "Perfect. I'll see you tomorrow."
-----------
Y/n groaned, her head pounding as she stumbled into the kitchen to the sound of her mother's concerned voice. Whilst she had done her hair up and changed into more respectable clothes than the night before, there was no denying that she probably felt like she was dying. Arthur and Charles exchanged mischievous grins, eying her with curiosity. Her mother, worried, placed a bowl of cereal in front of her. "Are you okay, dear?" Pascale asked, rubbing her daughter's head. "No." Y/n replied miserably. "There is some pills in the cabinet to help your headache. I just need to go go the bathroom and I'll get them for you." Pascale said, heading towards the bathroom.
Before Y/n could respond, Arthur and Charles jumped in with sly grins. "So, how was your night, Y/n?" Arthur asked, taking a sip of his coffee. Y/n felt her cheeks flush as she recalled the events of the evening—the chance encounter, the heartfelt conversations, the stolen kiss...and everything that happened after that. "It was great." She replied, her voice quiet and shy with a tone of embarrassment. "You definitely stayed at a guys house last night. Admit it!" Charles chuckled. "No! I'm back here, aren't I?" She defended herself. "Yes, but I heard you open the door at nearly 5 this morning." Charles and Arthur laughed. "I do have friends you know. Plus, there wasn't even a guy last night. It was just me and my friends." Y/n replied, trying to disguise the fact that she was in fact talking to a guy. "So, care to explain the mysterious hill-walking we saw on TikTok?" Charles asked, shoving his phone in her face. Sure enough, there it was; Y/n and a mysterious man walking up a steep hill as they argued.
Y/n sighed, realizing her night out had become the latest family gossip. "It's not what it looks like," she mumbled, bracing herself for the interrogation from her cheeky brothers. "I- That's not me. Im-" She paused when she heard her phone buzz. She quickly answered it and her heart skipped a beat upon seeing the message.
Max🧡
I'm in Cafe de Paris. Unless you decided you don't want to join me
She smiled to herself before she pocketed her phone and headed towards the door, now a bounce in her step. "Well, as much as I'd like to answer you and your false accusations, boys. I have a Cafe to head to and a person to meet so, au revoir, á bientot, et bisous." She smiled, closing the door behind her and leaving her brothers curious.

Hi!!! I absolutely adore your writing!!! Could I please request prompt number 8 from the angst dialogue list for Charles Leclerc? Thank you!!!
# prompt no.8, "what do you want from me? to throw away all i've worked for?" // "all i'm asking for is your time."
mariahcarreyyy's 2k celebration announcement post
Change was something you did not lightly graze over or dismiss with a nonchalant wave of your hand. It slowly seeped inside the cracks of your monaco apartment walls, finding solace in your discomfort. But once even a portion of it was there, there was no denying its presence.
Not when the dent of Charles' curves is no longer easy to trace; yours was everpresent, wallowing and growing familiar with the ache in your bones every time you'd wake up to an cold, empty bed.
Not when, despite being allocated time off from work, Charles had let his job consume him. Nipping at his heart and head, wrapped in a frantic worry of not living up to his potential. Lately, it was as if it held greater priority than the peace you'd once been able to bring him.
He's slouched on his chair, fingers tightly wrapped around the wheel of the simulator; his movements are jerky yet cautious, risky, yet he is all but willing. Standing at the burgundy doorframe, you felt like you'd regressed to the age of a toddler—thrashing in your father's hold, begging for an ounce of attention, of care.
"Charles?"
The word drifts away, following the breeze of the opened window, swirling in the starry night sky. He does not answer. That's fine, nothing new. Your lips part to the shape of his name again, timid and picking dutifully at your fingertips. An exhasperated huff escapes his mouth, latching on to the side of his headphones and not-so-lightly placing them on the table.
With gritted teeth and a slight crane to his neck, barely allowing you to enter his peripheral vision, he mutters, "Yes, y/n?"
"Dinner's ready," you house your bottom lip between your teeth, waiting patiently for the dismissive 'not hungry right now' that would roll off his tongue in mere moments.
And Charles does not fail you or your expectations. He motions a hand to his simulator, sending you a pitiful excuse of a sorry smile that makes your palms furl into fists.
"Charles, I said—"
"I know what you said, mon amour," he sighs, and the pet name feels foreign on his tongue and bitter to your ears. "'Can't leave the sim."
Any shame you have left dwindles next to your bruised ego and non-existent dignity.
"One dinner, Charles, 'won't even take twenty minutes out of your day." Your voice is small, directed towards the back of his head, satisfaction pricking at your heart when his hands freeze, sending him crashing through the virtual track.
Desperate, do you even care anymore?
Abruptly, he stands up, arms extended on the table, to steady himself. The shift in atmosphere made you gnaw at your lip harder, and the metallic crimson made you wince. Your feet are glued to the floor.
Charles turns, standing up right to face you. He looks normal, you realize. You've been trying to figure out how to breathewithout him near you, and he looks normal.
"What do you want from me? To throw away all I've worked for?" He raises a predatory brow, malice dripping from his tongue. "Eat, y/n. I'll probably order something later, but I'm not wasting my time with—with."
He makes a vague gesture with his hand.
With you, is left unspoken.
"All I'm asking for is your time." You meet his hard stare and refrain from cowering at the sight. "But it's obvious you don't give a fuck to at least give me that."
You don't run, but you'd never walked so frantically out of a room before. A small part of you is waiting for Charles to scurry behind you, shouting a 'wait! wait, y/n!'. Which would probably not grant him immediate forgiveness but perhaps warm the shivers coursing through your body.
He doesn't.

starry night scars
fairy tail prompt & snippet:
The only differences, that actually matter, between this world and her last, is her change in appearance and the existence of magic and soulmates. The riches, the galas, the dresses and stifling silence - that is unfortunately the same and something she's intimately familiar with.
Tumblr media
Dinner is cold, but that’s to be expected when she’s just been blankly staring at it for the last half-hour. She listlessly pushes the food around on her plate with her fork, too busy thinking of different matters to care about eating.
Well, that’s a half-lie. She is thinking about more important things, but she also lacks the necessary appetite. Which is a shame, forever making her the cause of the family’s cooks’ despair. She feels guilty about wasting what is undoubtedly good food, but the thought of eating only makes her nauseous. Which is ridiculous because the lack of appetite is a 24/7 thing, so there’s never enough food in her stomach for her to be feasibly nauseous.
Ah, now she feels even more guilty. Sighing, she sets down her fork and knife over the plate as she’s been taught to indicate she’s finished despite the majority of the meal being left. Maybe one of the cooks will reheat it to eat themselves or feed it to the estate animals. She doesn’t particularly care enough to find out, pushing the plate away from her as she stands up to leave.
She murmurs a quiet “thank you” to the maids stationed at the door when they bow while opening the doors for her. If she didn’t know that the staff would be offended, she would openly grimace at the behavior. She never did like, never will like, the subservient attitude people show to her.
Even if she somehow earned it, it’d still feel wrong. But she knows better than to speak her opinion; some people pride themselves on how well they serve their employers and place of employment. The staff of the Heartfilia Estate especially.
At least they’re nicer than the Evans’ staff, she thinks to herself as she walks the empty halls to the library. She’s long finished her studies for the day, so she’d like to find something to read for her own enjoyment. Hopefully something that’s not focused on magic or soulmates. Mirrors are enough of a reminder of her situation.
Thankfully the library holds a wide range of books to read, particularly thanks to her mother. Though she supposes there isn’t really much else a retired mage turned noble woman could do that wouldn’t worry their non-mage husband.
Father is rather lucky in that regard, she muses. She doesn’t think anyone that regularly traveled and went on adventures would be too happy about being confined inside all day. Probably the reason why the library is the largest room of the entire mansion, she thinks with amusement.
If only most of the fiction wasn’t romance based. Whatever happened to a nice, original horror story with no happy ending? Or the stories that make one question their existence and place in the world?
How boring, she frowns at the book in her hand. The title is interesting but the synopsis is lacking. Gazing at the other titles on the same shelf, she doesn’t quite think she’ll be finding anything suited to her tastes.
Maybe she should just write her own?
She snorts, shaking her head at the idea. She is no writer, does not have the necessary creativity or originality for it. She’ll be better off outlining a plot and paying someone to write it.
It’s certainly an interesting idea. She puts the book back and continues her perusal. I’ll speak to Mother about it. Father’s too busy to bother.
She wanders the aisles for a couple of minutes before coming to the conclusion that she’ll have to suffer through another romance novel. It’s either that or venture into her father’s study to see what his personal library holds. Which makes the answer pretty obvious.
“Romance novel it is then.” She sighs.
She isn’t dumb enough to risk her father’s stress-induced temper. Mostly because the way he apologizes unnerves her. Last time it happened, she was granted a chair large and intricate enough to be called a throne. Best to just not cause anything to warrant that.
Finding her favorite reading spot, a plush couch by a large window that faces the garden, she pauses just before sitting down. On the small table next to the couch is a book that wasn’t there that morning.
While the library is open to everyone living on the Estate, the librarian is very strict about placing things back if they aren’t being used. So it’s suspicious that there’d just be a book out in the open when she knows she’s currently the only visitor.
Leaning forward to read the title, she immediately scowls and turns away. She understands that magic is an important subject in her education, but the only times she’ll be willing to learn about it are during her study hours. No matter how interesting it is.
This is not my world, she reminds herself as she physically turns her back to the table and book. I am Marie Evans and I died. I am not Lucy Heartfilia because I shouldn’t exist. Nothing here is mine and I don’t want it to be.
( she’s always been the best at lying to herself, in this life and the one before, because then it doesn’t hurt as much when others do it )
( you said you wouldn’t forget about me, that you’ll come back for me )
( you lied )

It had started out with fleeting glances in the hallway, quick greetings when your apartment doors opened at the same time, then short conversations on your adjoining balconies, late night talks with your feet propped up on the railing and his back leaning against it, sometimes exchanging a cigarette or a light, or occasionally a bottle of beer when one of you had run out.
Of course you noticed the ridiculously tight jeans that really shouldn't look that good on him, the way his broad shoulders strained against his clothes, and the way his shirts always revealed a little too much of his golden-skinned chest. You couldn't deny the fact that your neighbor was incredibly attractive, and that he knew it.
You probably should have said no when late one evening, after Javi had found you on your balcony, smoking and watching the glistening city lights, he invited you to share a glass of bourbon. Together. At his place.
He had been flirting with you, which you suspected he did with every woman he met, and you had tried not to pay it any mind, but you were well aware of how this evening would end if you accepted.
You should have said no, and a stronger, less lonely version of you might have, but you craved human contact, craved to be touched by someone else than yourself, and if the sounds that traveled through the thin walls from his bedroom to yours frequently enough were any indication, Javi knew what he was doing.
You should have said no, because it became clear to you very quickly that Javier Peña would ruin you for all other men.
He was more gentle, more caring than you had expected him to be and he prioritized your pleasure in a way that you had never experienced from any man before. He took you to heights that you hadn’t thought possible before, and it was addicting.
You should have said no, but you hadn’t, and now you keep coming back for more.
You keep coming back for the way his skin tastes under your tongue, for the way his lips press against yours, swallowing moans and whimpers, for the way his fingers and his cock reach so deep inside of you that you still feel him hours later, when you have said your good nights and crawled under the covers of your own bed. Never his, never crossing the line to a different kind of intimacy.
Tumblr media
It’s another one of those nights, a soft knock on a door, a mutual understanding passing between you, gentle touches that burned under your skin until they got more demanding, until you both gave in to that pull that kept you coming back.
He’s already made you come on his tongue twice, until you were dripping onto his sheets, his name the only word in your mind and on your lips. You’re on your hands and knees, limbs shaking, trying to accommodate his length and the harsh rhythm that he’s setting.
“Taking me so fucking well,” he pants, running his hands down your back and over your ass. You chase his touch, goosebumps forming in its wake, your moans filling the air as he keeps hitting impossibly deep inside of you.
His palm connects with your skin, nothing more than a playful swat, but the sensation sears through you, lighting your nerve endings on fire as you all but scream your pleasure into the softly lit bedroom.
“Oh?” His voice is low, rough in his throat. You don’t need to turn your head and look behind you to know that he’s smirking down at you right now. “You liked that, huh?”
You nod eagerly, too far gone to be ashamed of the way your hips are bucking back against him, working desperately to feel him deeper inside of you.
He slaps you again, harder this time, and you feel yourself clenching around him, feel the way a new wave of slick is coating his cock. His fingers dig into your shoulder and he pulls you up, until your torso is pressed against his, his mouth moving against the delicate skin of your neck.
“Never knew you were such a freak, baby,” he whispers, his lips curling into a grin, teeth nipping at you.
“Shut up.” You try to hold your voice steady, ignore the throbbing need between your thighs, but he just chuckles and presses another kiss against the side of your throat before he loosens his hold and pushes you back towards the mattress.
His hands grab your hips instead, pulling you into his thrusts, filling you so deeply that you see stars behind your eyelids.
“You want me to do it again?” You hate how smug he sounds, would love to deny him the satisfaction, but god, you do want him to.
“Fuck– please, Javi.” You’re breathless, reduced to a mess of trembling thighs and desperate whimpers, and you wish that you could stay like this forever.
He slaps your ass twice in quick succession and deepens his thrusts at the same time, punching all air from your lungs. His hand snakes down to graze your clit and you’re overwhelmed with sensations, pure pleasure coursing through your veins so suddenly that it’s almost disorienting. You collapse onto the sheets, your pussy pulsing around him as your body shakes through its third orgasm of the night and you’re whimpering his name as he buries himself deep inside of you and comes with a groan, painting your insides with his release.
After more kisses, more touches, and a shared cigarette, you get dressed and eventually, his apartment door clicks shut behind you. You lean your back against the wall, closing your eyes and breathing deeply for a moment before you enter your own place.
Again, you know that you’ll be coming back for more. And that no matter how many times you come back, it will never be enough.

Prompt #20
"H-Hero? Hero!"
"Hey, shhh, I'm right here."
Hands reaching out for them, grabbing them and quickly wrapping around their body. Hero reciprocated, gently cupping the back of Villain's head.
"Hero, Hero-"
"I'm right here, I'm right here." Hero ran their fingers through Villain's hair, letting their enemy bury their face in their chest.
"Hero, I'm scared."
Hero held them tighter. "I know. But it's going to work out."
It was dark, nearly pitch black, Hero could just barely make out Villain's outline.
"It is?" Villain whispered.
Hero had no idea. "Yes. We'll figure this out. We'll get you out of here, alright? You just have to stay with me. Can you do that?"
"I-I don't know-"
"I need you to. Please, Villain."
Villain pressed closer, hands clutching at Hero's clothes, their face tucked into Hero's shoulder. "I'll try."
With Villain pressed so close, Hero could feel the warm substance soaking the front of their outfit. Villain's blood running down their torso, now soaking Hero's clothes as well. Hero's arms tightened around them, and they tried their best to stay clear-headed.
"Hero?"
"Hm?"
"It hurts."
"I'm sure it does. We can find a way to fix it as soon as we get out of here, alright?"
No answer.
"Villain? Are you still here?"
A swallow, then a small, terrified voice. "Yeah."
It was heartbreaking to see the usually suave and smug villain reduced to this. Usually they were all smirks and infuriating remarks, Hero had never seen even a flicker of fear cross their face.
But now, that had all melted away, leaving this small, scared remnant of their former self. Supervillain's abuse and the awful situation surrounding them leaving Villain clinging to Hero like they would never be able to let go.
"Okay, I need to set you down for a minute-"
"No!" Villain nearly shouted, clinging on tighter. "If I stay with you you have to stay with me!"
"I'm going to stay right here, I just need to find us a way out of here. Here, I'll keep talking to you so you know where I am, okay?"
A small nod, and Hero slowly sank to the ground, unwrapping Villain from themself and helping them sit. There came several gasps of pain from the criminal, but they never said anything.
"Is this okay?" Hero asked, straightening up.
"Mm-hm."
"Okay, I'll be right back."
They were in the collapsed remains of Supervillain's lair, the entire place had been reduced to rubble. Supervillain was thankfully dead, they'd finally been defeated, but they'd blown up their lair in one last effort to get rid of Hero and escape.
And now Hero and Villain were trapped under the rubble in a small pocket, unable to find a way out in the darkness.
Hero began feeling around them, regularly calling out to Villain and asking them random, mundane things. Favorite color, favorite ice cream flavor, whether they liked ketchup on their eggs. Villain's responses were quiet and sometimes there was a slight delay, but they always answered. Occasionally Hero would ask if they were doing okay, and Villain always said yes. They were awake. They would make it.
As far as Hero could tell, the two of them were completely buried. Every piece of rubble they tried to shift above or around them was weighed down by everything on top, and Hero was afraid moving it too much would make their little pocket collapse and crush both of them. Still they tried, and had made several loops around the little ten-foot circle they were trapped in before hopelessness began to sink in.
"H-Hero?" Villain called.
"I'm right here."
"You can get us out, right?"
Hero sighed. "Yeah. We'll get out."
"You're sure?"
"Mm-hm."
"Can-" a little gasp of pain- "can you come sit by me again? Just for a minute?"
Hero stepped over to them, crouching down and pulling the villain against themself. Villain shifted to bury their face once more in Hero's chest, small shaky sobs racking their body.
Hero held them, trying their hardest not to give in, trying to keep the tears from their eyes. This wasn't hopeless, they'd figure out a way to get both of them out of here. And once they did, they could live a life free of Supervillain. One thing good to come out of all of this was that they were finally gone.
After a few minutes, the sounds of distant shouting came to their ears, and Hero sat up. "Do you hear that?"
Villain didn't answer, but their hand tightened in Hero's clothes.
Hero heard the shouting again, distant calling. "Hold on, Villain." They pulled away, standing. "Hello?" They shouted back.
"Hello? Is anyone still in there?"
"Hello! It's me! Hero! We're buried!"
Very distant cries of joy as Hero's voice reached the other's ears. "Hang tight, we'll get you out of there! Where are you?"
"Down here! There's a bunch of stuff piled on top of us, we haven't been able to move it!"
The sound of rustling from above them as the voices got closer, shifting wooden boards and pieces of tile and concrete. "We'll have you out in just a minute!"
Breathing a massive sigh of relief, Hero turned back to their foe. "Do you hear that Villain? We're getting- Villain?"
In the darkness, Hero could just see the outline of Villain slumped over on their side, unmoving. "Villain, you still with me?"
Nothing.
Hero rushed to them, collapsing next to them and trying to shake them awake. "No no no, c'mon Villain, we're getting out of here! You said you'd stay with me!"
Villain didn't move.
"Villain!"

save a horse, ride a cowboy
pairing: Joel Miller x F!Reader
masterlist
warnings: EXPLICIT, no minors. m!masturbation, exhibitionism, voyeurism to some extent, riding, unprotected p in v. both so so touch starved. joel has a lot to teach the reader.
notes: 1000 notes on my last post— thank you. I haven’t written in a long time and get quite anxious to post new fics, but when the response is that great, how could I not? You make me feel way more confident with my writing and encourage me to post more often. I hope to soon get to a place where I can start accepting requests again and writing what you want me to.
Tumblr media
Joel didn’t like you— that much was clear. He hadn’t spoken a word to you since daybreak, when he left Tess at the QZ to deal with ‘unfinished business’ and promised her to deliver you to the outskirts of Boston without Fedra knowing. It was a difficult journey with the soldiers scouting the area on every corner, but after around six hours of travelling on foot, you and Joel had reached the border of Cornwall, Canada, which is exactly where you needed to be.
Unbeknownst to Joel, you wanted to be in Canada because that’s where your parents were. Or so, where you last heard they were. You’d do anything to reunite with them and make sure they were safe but you weren’t exactly good with a gun and you weren’t a particularly fast runner either. You needed someone like Joel to smuggle you out of the Quarantine Zone. He was your protector.
“You haven’t said a word to me all day,” you acknowledged when you couldn’t sleep that night. You lay next to Joel in your own sleeping bag, framed by a roaring fire and underneath tall, forested shelter. “Why?”
Joel huffed out a sigh and rolled over onto his back, now looking up at the starry night sky.
He didn’t reply.
You gave him a few minutes and tried to gather your thoughts, hoping he’d eventually cave and tell you why he’d hated you all this time. Had you done something wrong? You didn’t think so. Hell, you’d only met him earlier in the day. You’d hardly had enough of an influence on him to hate you. You liked to think of yourself as big and strong and apathetic in regards to people’s opinion of you. In the world that you lived in, you couldn’t afford to give a damn. And yet, you did. You couldn’t help it, it was just who you were. You got anxious about it if you thought about it too long and so you would desperately try and find a distraction or think of something else to focus on. The trees— the stars— the fire— Joel.
He was the epitome of ‘grumpy old man’. You briefly wondered if he was this grumpy before the apocalypse. Why was he so highly strung? Sure, life wasn’t exactly good or easy for him— but it wasn’t good or easy for anyone.
“I didn’t tell you why I wanted to go to Canada,” you said slowly, figuring that if you could open up to the man, then maybe he could at least offer you a few words back. “My parents are there. I think they are anyway. My father sent a letter over to the QZ months ago but I only just got it on Tuesday. I don’t know if they’re still there but I need to check. My mom is sick and I just… need to be with them… and I couldn’t go alone. I wouldn’t last two seconds out there with infected. So I guess, what I’m trying to say is, tha—“
“Okay.” Joel cut you off abruptly. He didn’t want your ‘thank you’s’ or your tokens of gratitude. He was doing a job and he was only here to get paid.
“Where are you from?” you asked him quietly. He shuffled but didn’t reply, and so you were prompted to follow on further. “You got an accent. Southern, there’s no doubting that. Tennessee…—?”
“Texas.” Joel corrected and you smiled to yourself. He may have been a man of few words but he sure as hell wasn’t going to let you think he was from Tennessee.
“Texas huh?” you beamed brightly. Joel didn’t move his head, but he looked over to you and noticed your grin. “So you’re like, a cowboy.”
You giggled playfully and nudged his arm, but he only grunted and closed his eyes.
“You ever ride a horse?” you asked him.
“You’re annoying,” Joel sighed, rubbing his temples, but he supposed that— if he had to be honest with himself— he was somewhat amused by your plentiful questions. “But yeah. I’ve rode a horse.”
“I always wanted to ride a horse, but I don’t think I’d be any good at it,” you admitted sheepishly. “No co-ordination.”
“It’s all in the hips.” Joel explained and his interest in horses took you by surprise. This was the most he talked all day.
You pursed your lips together fighting back another smile. There was no denying the rush of blood that flushed to your cheeks as you felt them heat up over the thought of the Cowboy riding his horse. But then you remembered how he’d also just expressed his irritation with you and your abundance of pointless questions and you felt your heart drop in your chest slightly. A pang of guilt.
You told yourself that it was okay— no big deal— and it didn’t matter if he found you annoying. No, it didn’t matter that the extremely attractive Texan man who hadn’t uttered a single word to you all day, found you annoying.
You’d been so lonely recently. So lonely. You’d kill for a friend. A partner. Someone. And perhaps it was your fault for getting your hopes up when you met Joel. You figured that maybe you could finally have someone in your life who liked you back for you, and didn’t want to use you or hurt you in some kind of unexpected way.
“I— I don’t mean to be annoying, y’know. I just— I’m sorry,” you murmured, rolling over onto your side and facing the other way from Joel. “Uhm— good night.”
Joel wasn’t a heartless monster. He wasn’t as cold and calculating as he let off to be, but he sure as hell wasn’t innocent and pure-of-heart either. He was a broken shell of a man simply trying to get by, and the way he saw it, he couldn’t afford the time or effort to make friendships or have partners or even anything more than an acquaintance. It just wasn’t on his radar.
And although he was certainly taken aback with how beautiful you were, he just couldn’t bring himself to do anything he wouldn’t do with any other piece of cargo. This was a delivery, after all. A smuggle run. And he had to be professional about it.
But you were so— so beautiful. During the hours of hiking you and Joel did through the fields and forests, he often lagged behind you and consciously allowed you to take the lead when he thought it was safe to do so. Really though, he just liked to take a few seconds to admire you when you weren’t looking. You were funny and smart and although you couldn’t aim a gun to save your life, you might’ve been able to charm a Clicker away from you if you tried hard enough.
Joel enjoyed listening to you babble on, despite displaying no signs or signals to show that he had any interest in you. He couldn’t do that because he didn’t want to lead you on or give you the wrong impression. He really did like you, but if he dared to open his mouth, Joel was certain he’d slip up and say the wrong thing or embarrass himself. And so to him, it was better to not say anything at all. However, his heart would warm when you would get bored along the way and start humming— and eventually singing. You were in no way melidous, but still, you weren’t trying to be. Joel wondered what it would be like in another universe where your lives weren’t constantly at stake. Maybe then he’d grow the courage to actually have a decent conversation with you.
But this wasn’t another universe. This was reality and Joel had lost all hope in humankind a long time ago. Joel allowed himself to get lost in his own thoughts for a long time and by the time he’d snapped out of it, you were already fast asleep next to him, emitting light snores. He watched you, watched as your chest rose and fell with every breath. You looked so peaceful.
Truth was, Joel wasn’t entirely sure he could fall asleep here next to you. There was no way of telling if this forest was safe. Certainly he found it difficult to imagine there’d be signs of infected around but people? That was certainly plausible. Making sure his rifle was close enough to grab in case of an emergency, Joel took another glance towards you.
So goddamn pretty.
Joel didn’t know when, but at some point in the night, he’d gotten hard. Probably because he hadn’t been able to take his eyes off you all night. He felt like such a creep for watching you sleep, but even under the pearly white stars and the sunset orange embers bouncing from the campfire, you were still the most beautiful thing he’d ever saw. And he wanted you.
Now, Joel probably wasn’t as touch-starved as you were, but still, it had been a helluva long time since he last got laid. Without drawing his gaze away from you, he reached his hand down into his sleeping bag and dipped it into his boxer shorts began to pump at his already throbbing manhood. His eyes snapped shut at the shock of the thrill which raced through his body. There was something so erotic about doing this outside, with you laying next to him, unbeknownst to it all. Stifling a groan, with his free hand Joel gathered the material of his sleeping bag and squeezed it with pleasure.
The coarseness, roughness, of his hands was never ideal, but he had no trouble imagining the softness of yours. Your hands were a lot smaller than his, and your fingers were a lot thinner, and as he stroked his cock, his toes curled at the thought of you in between his legs, playing with him.
He hissed your name through his teeth as he begin to feel a knot tie in his lower stomach, indicating that he was close. God, he’d only been at himself for a few minutes and he was going crazy for you. You stirred slightly at the mention of your name but Joel wasn’t paying attention anymore. Now his eyes were shut and his entire body was tensed up as his hand movements became faster. He guessed it wouldn’t be so bad if he finished quick because the longer he touched himself, the more chance you’d wake up and discover him.
But for some reason, that only stirred Joel on even more. Of course, he wasn’t trying to wake you up, but there came a point where he was so enveloped in his own lustfilled thoughts, he didn’t even notice you whisper his name softly through the night.
“Joel?”
Briefly, Joel registered the sound of your voice but he thought nothing of it. So deep in thought— he was close. He moaned your name back.
You stilled, your eyes widening when your gaze dropped to his crotch and you noticed the movements of his hands underneath the thin material of the sleeping bag.
“Oh… Joel.” you mumbled, feeling your pussy clench around nothing as you nimbly slipped out of your sleeping bag and quietly crawled over to him.
He still hadn’t noticed you, but between the tinnitus in his right ear and being so lost in his own thoughts, you couldn’t blame him. On your knees and by his side, you placed the palm of your hand on his chest and fumbled with the buttons of his shirt, alerting him immediately.
His movements stopped and his eyes snapped open in horror, only to be met by your wide smirk.
“Hey cowboy,” you teased, unbuttoning the first few buttons of his shirt.
“Shit.” Joel cursed, looking away from you. “I— you shouldn’t have saw me— I’m—“
You hushed him by placing a soft, chase kiss upon his lips. Joel froze and softened under you, completely feeling at ease under your touch. It has been years since he had been kissed. You hovered over him, finding his gaze in the dark before pressing a harder, more intimate kiss to his lips. Joel moaned underneath you and brought out his hand from under the sleeping bag, releasing his cock and bringing it to cradle the back of your head.
“Let’s get you out of here,” you giggled, unzipping Joel’s sleeping bag and bringing yours next to his, giving you both some kind of barrier between the grassy ground.
Joel’s belt was already undone and the zipper of his jeans pulled down.
Still beaming, you straddled Joel, positioning yourself over his lap and continued unbuttoning his shirt before before peeling it off his torso and discarding it into the corner.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Joel asked softly and his tone of voice took you by surprise.
“If I didn’t want to be doing this, I wouldn’t be grinding on you already, cowboy,” you giggled, thrusting your hips over the material of his jeans and getting a feel for his bulge.
Joel swallowed and nodded his head in agreement. Hastily, he brought his hands to your waist and guided you over his hips. You tossed back your head and let out a moan.
“Oh, I need you.” you whimpered, bringing Joel’s hands to your breasts and letting him feel the hard pebbles of your nipples under your t-shirt.
Growing impatient, Joel tugged on your shirt and you let him pull it off your body. He then smoothly unclipped your bra and let it fall off, before using his large, rough hands to cup and fondle your breasts.
“Joel,” you gasped, pushing back onto his legs and taking the hem off his jeans in your grip. “I need you,” you repeated. “Need you inside of me.”
Joel choked out a wanton groan at your words and nodded his head again. You took his signal as confirmation that he wanted this too, and tugged down his denim along with his underwear.
You removed your own pants and then sunk down ontop of him, sighing an air of relief when you felt the skin on skin contact. Joel adjusted himself and gave you a questioning look.
“I’m ready.” you whispered and leaned down, pressing your chest against Joel’s. Joel pushed himself inside of you and you tensed up, digging your nails into his shoulders as you adjusted to him. He was so big and thick, and yet he felt like he fit inside you perfectly. Like he was made for you.
Joel slowly thrusted upwards and into you, stretching you out. When you felt comfortable enough, you sat upright and rested your hands on his tummy.
“Show me how to ride, cowboy,” You urged. “You said earlier, it’s all in the hips? Show me.”
Joel looked up at you with wide eyes and extended his arms around you. He held onto you, and you felt like putty under his grip.
“Show me what you got, girl.” The handsome man demanded, his voice having dropped an octave.
You began to roll your hips over him, and Joel squeezed his eyes shut. “That feel good for you?” you taunted, letting a giggle escape your lips. Joel wordlessly nodded.
“Try— try circle your hips.” Joel requested, and immediately you changed your movements. You’d do anything to please him. You felt yourself get increasingly wet, making it easier and more comfortable to move freely. “That’s good.” he praised under his breaths.
“This is how you ride?” you enquired, raising an eyebrow as you continued to circle your hips.
“This is how you learn,” Joel corrected. “It’s all a process, baby girl. You go straight into the ridin’, you’ll get hurt.”
Joel leaned forward and pressed himself into you, the curve of his cock hitting you in just the right spot, You held onto him, gripping onto the broad of his back and this time, Joel kissed you. He yearned for your lips— for your affection. He dragged his tongue along your collarbone and planted sloppy kisses up your neck, along your jaw, and finally to your mouth. He slid his tongue along your lower lip, begging for entry, which you quickly granted him, and started to make out with you.
“Joel,” you whispered against his lips, and he pulled off you, allowing you to speak. “I need more.”
“Think you’re ready for your next lesson?” he quizzed, pressing his nose against yours.
“Mhm.” you replied. “Teach me.”
Joel leaned back again and brought his hands down to your hips. “I want you to bounce on my cock sweet girl, show me what you can do.”
You grinned with excitement and began to move yourself up and down, grinding on his cock so you could feel every ridge and vein against your walls.
You felt yourself clench around him, indicating that you were close.
“Shit, like this I won’t last long.” Joel admitted bashfully, his cheeks flushing pink.
“Me neither,” you replied, and began to speed up your movements. “Joel— please. Please cum inside of me.”
Joel panted, bringing his hands up to massage your tits. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, yes, oh— please.” you begged him. “Please cowboy.”
With those two words, Joel spurted ropes of his warm seed inside of you, painting your walls a milky white. Feeling him fill you, you clenched one last time around his cock and let a blinding hot light envelope you as you rode out your own high.
You rolled off the man and laid next to him, catching your breath. “How was that? Did I pass the test?” you nudged him playfully.
Joel let out a laugh and you felt your heart flutter at the sound of him displaying genuine happiness. “You passed the test,” he chuckled. “But— there’s still plenty more for you to learn.”
“Well,” you shrugged. “You do make a pretty good teacher.”
Joel wrapped his arm around you and pulled you into his chest. “Sun will rise in a few hours, you should go back to sleep.” he hummed into your hair, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
You closed your eyes, still in sheer bliss, and smiled.
You couldn’t believe that just a few hours earlier, you were so sure that Joel hated you.
You’d never been so wrong.
